13:50 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Now that NOTRE MAISON has regained the winning thread after a taking display at Windsor in June, Stuart Kittow's mare could back that effort up, despite a hefty 7lb rise. Runner-up on two of his last three starts, Revenue must enter calculations along with Outer Edge, who showed enough pace when scoring over further here last time out to suggest that he can handle the drop back to 5f on this occasion.

NOTRE MAISON made all in good style at Windsor and could follow up if able to kick on again. So Smart may not let her have things all her own way, while Revenue should bounce back to form and can go well.

A chance is taken that OUTER EDGE will handle slow ground as he looked to have something in hand when winning here recently.

13:55 Downpatrick Maiden Hurdle 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

There was definite promise in CLONGOREY's keeping-on fourth on debut in a fillies' maiden hurdle at Wexford just under three weeks ago. The runner-up in that contest has since been good enough to land a maiden hurdle in Tramore. In The Trenches is proving expensive to follow in being placed in his last five races over flights. There should be one of these in him, though. Chart Topper is sent hurdling by Willie Mullins after a couple of third places in bumpers and could get in the mix. John McConnell's Ravelli is a recruit from the Flat that is well worth a market check, while his stablemate Our Shane has been doing well in point-to-points.

CHART TOPPER has run to a fairly useful level in bumpers and could be number 1 on his hurdles debut. The consistent In The Trenches might have to settle for another placing, while Clongorey can improve on her Wexford debut fourth.

With a record of four seconds from eight hurdle starts, IN THE TRENCHES is potentially vulnerable but this is a good opportunity

14:02 Ripon Maiden (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

HUSCAL performed with plenty of credit when finishing sixth in a warm Goodwood maiden last month and, with the promise of improvement to come, he gets the vote to land the spoils at the second time of asking. Cape Sovereign chased homed two potentially useful types when third over 6f at Redcar last month and he can give the selection most to think about. Calibos appears to be the pick of the Richard Fahey-trained duo and he is respected most out of the remainder on his debut.

HUSCAL shaped best of the newcomers when finishing midfield in a Goodwood maiden (6f) 4 weeks ago and, with progress anticipated, Charlie Hills's colt is fancied to build on that and come out on top. Cape Sovereign may emerge as the chief threat, with newcomer Calibos and Keats House ,who shaped encouragingly on debut at York, others to keep an eye on.

Charlie Hills' Saxon Warrior colt HUSCAL shaped well on his debut when sixth at Goodwood and with that form franked he gets the nod here

14:07 Epsom Maiden (Class 2) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Tactical Plan sets a decent form standard but has had a few chances now and preference is for the less-exposed GAP YEAR, who looked crying out for further when staying on well for fourth over the extended 5f at Bath last time. That came on the back of a fast-finishing second over 6f at Windsor on debut and 7f could prove ideal for Eve Johnson Houghton's gelding here. That could also apply to Letsbeatsepsis, who has done his best work at the finish when third over 6f on both starts to date.

LETSBEATSEPSIS and Gap Year are worth another chance to confirm debut promise with the extra 1f expected to suit, the former shading the vote. Tactical Plan and Many Men are others to consider.

Slight preference is for MANY MEN who should prove much better than the bare result of his Newmarket seller this month.

14:12 Southwell Stakes (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Penalised winners Mademoiselle and Eartha must enter calculations, with the latter's lightly-raced profile making her of more interest. However, SUNSHINE SOUL shades the verdict in receipt of weight from that pair after posting a fine second in a class 2 novice at Pontefract last month. George Boughey's filly drops in class for this assignment and a breakthrough victory looks imminent.

SUNSHINE SOUL has looked potentially useful on two of her three outings to date and should have enough ability to get the better of Eartha in receipt of 4 lb. Nightbird is the next best on form but lacks the potential of the aforementioned pair.

A few of these have possibilities but the one with the most compelling form is SUNSHINE SOUL. Second choice is Eartha.

14:17 Cartmel Conditions Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

TORRENT belied odds of 33/1 when making a winning debut over hurdles at Uttoxeter. He may well defy a penalty if proving as effective on soft going. Trafalgar Square has undergone a wind operation since finishing second at Market Rasen on his hurdling bow and should have a say in proceedings, while the Irish challenger Judicial Reward has switched trainers and Brian Hughes' presence in the saddle suggests better is expected from him.

TORRENT faces contrasting conditions to those he faced when making a successful hurdles debut at Uttoxeter 4 weeks ago but that was a promising start and, open to improvement, he shades the vote. Trafalgar Square following his second at Market Rasen rates the chief threat, with French recruit Aaron also worth a look on hurdles debut for his new yard.

The most obvious answer is TORRENT, who finished well to snatch victory on his recent hurdling debut. Aaron is feared most.

14:25 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

An eye-catcher when running on from off the pace at Chelmsford, where he was slowly away and short of room at a crucial time, TOP STAR could be poised to break the maiden off a workable mark. The form of his stable is another plus, and he may have too much for the class-dropping Coiled, as well as Son Of Astar, who was only worn down late on when going from the front at Leicester last month.

Hard to be confident about any of these but COILED will find this a lot easier than the Super Sprint he contested at Newbury a month ago so he's offered to make a winning nursery bow. Solar Edge looks all speed so is dangerous if getting into a rhythm, with Top Star expected to be running on kept to 5f.

This can go to TOP STAR who suffered interference on his handicap debut and remains open to improvement at this level.

14:30 Downpatrick Handicap Hurdle 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ST DENIS'S WELL reverts back to hurdling on a mark some 29lb lower than his chase rating. He actually won in a higher grade over flights at Navan last November, so has prospects. Ragmans Corner was all the rage in the market for a handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe this month and was just caught close home. He is up 3lb, but remains in the same 80-95 grade, so is likely to be popular with punters again. Mr Sundancer showed marked improvement for third in Wexford and is another gunning for a cheque. A mistake at the last did Sandyman no favours over C&D this month. His challenge soon petered out, but a better result could be forthcoming.

SANDYMAN shaped much better than the bare result on just his second start in handicaps when fifth over C&D 2 weeks ago, upsides when bad mistake last. Remaining open to improvement, he gets the nod to confirm the promise of that run. There is strength in opposition though, with Ragmans Corner and St Denis's Well others fancied to be firmly in the mix.

Winner of three races over fences, ST DENIS'S WELL gets the vote off a mark 29lb below his chase mark

14:37 Ripon Maiden (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This looks a good opportunity for SLANEY SWAGGER to put his experience to good use and gain a breakthrough victory. The son of Profitable made a pleasing start to life with Alice Haynes when finishing third over 1m1f at Hamilton earlier this month and, with the likelihood of more to come in first-time cheekpieces, he looks the one to side with. North Summit didn't cut much ice when finishing down the field over a mile at Chelmsford on his debut recently, but he merits a second look with improvement expected now stepped up in trip. Sir Edward Lear looks the pick of the newcomers and he completes the shortlist.

SLANEY SWAGGER was below the pick of the form he showed in Ireland when third in a maiden at Hamilton (9.2f) 2 weeks ago but that run ought to have blown the cobwebs away and he's selected to come out on top. This isn't a strong race of its type, and newcomer Sir Edward Lear may emerge as the chief threat before the benefit of market clues.

Preference here is for SIR EDWARD LEAR who appeals on paper and is taken to make a winning start for the excellent James Owen team

BOBBY BENNU won novice events at Chester and Thirsk before failing to land a serious blow on his handicap bow at Newmarket, but that was a decent contest and the runner-up has won well since. He could be worth another chance off the same mark now eased in class and his trainer, Roger Varian, won the race last year. It was no surprise that Son Of Man found the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot too hot and his second in a similar event off a 2lb lower at Goodwood the time before puts him right in the picture today. Summer Of Love was only touched off late on when third over this trip at Doncaster latest and a 1lb rise for that effort doesn't rule her out, while Piz Nair has been threatening to score.

Low-mileage 4-y-o SUMMER OF LOVE got back on track returned to 7f when third at Doncaster last month and with Oisin Murphy taking over, she's fancied to build on that and score. Gorak has been running in better races than this of late so he's a threat, along with the consistent Piz Nair.

A bit more of a waiting game can see SUMMER OF LOVE (nap) win her first handicap at the third attempt.

14:47 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 7f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

NOTRE DAME looked close to her best when a close-up second over an extended 1m at Wolverhampton last month. A 1lb nudge up in the ratings looks on lenient side for the daughter of Kingman and she's fancied to regain the winning thread. The fitting of a first-time visor may eke some improvement in the Michael Bell-trained Mammy and she's feared most, ahead of Fariha.

GOD BLESS AMERICA arrives on the back of a couple of solid efforts, finishing to good effect when fifth at Kempton last time, and he's worth a chance to capitalise on a drop in grade for all that stall 12 isn't ideal. Fariha remains with potential and looks a danger along with Notre Dame.

The choice is GOD BLESS AMERICA who finished runner-up in both visits here and who drops in grade.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SECRET SECRET returned a convincing five-length winner on soft ground over 2m6f here last month. The manner of that success suggests James Moffatt's inmate can cope with a 6lb rise and go in again. Reagrove Lord caught the eye finishing strongly for third at Perth and can feature once again off his current mark, while Doyen For A Drink travels over from Ireland with a shout.

It's hard to get away from course-regular SECRET SECRET, who won with plenty up his sleeve at this venue a month ago. Traditude Tara will surely show more now handicapping, while Irish raider Doyen For A Drink requires a market check.

Preference is for Irish raider DOYEN FOR A DRINK, who returned from a layoff with a pleasing run last month.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

DALMALLY improved from first to second start when runner-up at Chelmsford to a winner that has gone in again since and this looks like an ideal opportunity for the son of Highland Reel as Tom Marquand takes over in the saddle. Enchanted Eye has been knocking on the door of late and must be thereabouts again, along with Chelmsford second Louie The Legend and Vilaine Verlaine.

DALMALLY continued his encouraging start when second at Chelmsford and looks the one to beat with further progress on the cards. Enchanted Eye is feared most ahead of Louie The Legend.

Hughie Morrison's Highland Reel colt DALMALLY possesses much the best form on offer and rates a confident choice to get off the mark.

15:05 Downpatrick Maiden Hurdle 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

This looks a good opportunity for INTENSE APPROACH to make the breakthrough over hurdles. He has two bumpers banked, but has accumulated unwanted letters beside his name when falling in Wexford and Bellewstown and being pulled up at Kelso. He took a big step forward in this discipline, though, when second over C&D this month. Stormbreaker is the potential fly in the ointment. James Fanshawe saddled him to win twice on the Flat in Britain and he wasn't unbacked on his debut for Willie Mullins on the level in Galway. He was unplaced and is swiftly sent over hurdles, and will know his job. Jeu De Pic and Eco Pete have both shown enough to have a say here.

INTENSE APPROACH ran well on his first completed start over hurdles in a C&D novice 2 weeks ago and with the likelihood of more to come, he's of interest in his bid to go one place better. Hurdles debutant Stormbreaker needs considering for the powerful Willie Mullins' yard. Eco Pete can do best of the remainder.

Stormbreaker will be popular but INTENSE APPROACH is preferred after running his best race yet over hurdles here last time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

Shadow Army was last seen finishing down the field in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh earlier this month, and he must be of interest with his sights lowered here. That said, preference is for the progressive SOLDIER'S HEART. The son of Havana Grey posted a low-key effort in the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes over 5f at Goodwood on his penultimate start, but he bounced back when scoring comfortably over C&D recently and he gets the vote to land the spoils in what should be an informative affair. Benevento and Preanka both impressed when winning on debut and are also noteworthy.

A trappy sprint in which the vote goes to SHADOW ARMY, who was far from disgraced pitched into Group 1 company when fourth at the Curragh just over a fortnight ago so with more severe headgear reached for, Richard Fahey's colt can double his tally back in this grade (sent off favourite in Windsor Castle) at the expense of Soldier's Heart, who bolted up over C&D last time. Spirit of Leros opened his account at Newbury recently and rounds off the shortlist.

The Crisfords have an excellent record in this Listed event and their progressive C&D scorer SOLDIER'S HEART (nap) looks the way to go.

15:17 Epsom Handicap (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

There was a lot to like about the way HOT FASHION stayed on to win well over this trip at Sandown last month (third has won since) and, with scope for further progress, Ralph Beckett's filly is fancied to defy a 4lb rise for a double. The main threat may come from Celtic Warrior, who shaped like this extra furlong would suit when keeping on for fourth off 1lb higher at Goodwood latest, while a drop in class and trip will suit top-weight Good Too.

CELTIC WARRIOR ran a good race when a staying-on fourth at Goodwood in first-time cheekpieces and could resume winning ways if backing that up over this extra furlong. Tahitian Prince lurks on a good mark and caught the eye in the same race so is considered. Sandown-winner Hot Fashion could kick on now she has got her head in front and completes the shortlist.

The most solid option may be HOT FASHION who turned over a new leaf when a big change in tactics saw her win at Sandown.

15:22 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Having justified favouritism at Wolverhampton over 7f last time out, Amroon warrants respect off just 3lb higher in the ratings. However, this return to 6f could leave Marco Botti's inmate vulnerable to a speedier rival, with LOCHABER fitting the bill. The Havana Grey gelding arrives on the back of a close-up second at Chepstow. The in-form Alibi Warning is also likely to be involved at the business end.

CARMARTHEN tasted success the last time she tackled the AW and with her Ffos Las run easy to draw a line through, she can get back on track here. Alibi Warning is pretty solid at this lowly level so is second choice, ahead of Lochaber.

Amroon is solid enough but the return to AW could spark a revival from RAFT UP and he's thrown in if that's the case.

15:27 Cartmel Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Blended Stealth has obvious claims of finally winning over hurdles based on last month's narrow defeat at Perth, but SKYJACK HIJACK has more scope for improvement and may edge this. The six-year-old was having only his fourth outing when finishing runner-up on soft ground here on his handicap debut last month and looks capable of scoring off his current mark. Joie De Vivre is at home on a soft surface and could go well too.

SKYJACK HIJACK continued his race-by-race progression when finding only a Jimmy Moffat-trainer improver too strong at this track 5 weeks ago so with this extra distance holding no fears, Jennie Candlish's 6-y-o can come out on top. Second choice is Blended Stealth, who is a long-standing maiden but got as close as he ever has at Perth last month. Handicap-debutante Baby Evie and Lady Harriett can fight out third.

Joie De Vivre looks capable of a big run over this longer trip but the less-exposed SKYJACK HIJACK has the greater potential.

15:35 Chepstow Handicap (Class 2) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

LADY FLORA looked a progressive filly to keep on the right side of when running out an impressive winner over C&D on her penultimate start and, after only finding a subsequent winner too good when runner-up here most recently, she gets the nod to return to winning ways off a 4lb higher mark. Kalama Sunrise was last seen making all over this track and trip earlier this month, and a 4lb rise for that performance doesn't discount another bold bid. Valkyrian is another to note in what looks a competitive feature event.

A competitive series Final which can go the way of sole 3-y-o LADY FLORA. Kalama Sunrise is another thriving filly and can give Andrew Balding's charge most to do ahead of Valkyrian.

There are many options with C&D form but KALAMA SUNRISE continues to improve and she can make it six wins for the year.

15:40 Downpatrick Handicap Hurdle 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

TANKARDSTOWN DIVA appeals back at this sort of trip. She made up plenty of ground for fifth over an extended 2m in Galway that was probably sharp enough for her. Prior to that, she won over a staying trip at Down Royal and was placed in Bellewstown. Class-dropper Andys Flame won on his sole previous visit to Downpatrick, so is a significant threat. Quite Incredible won over C&D in May and, although his next two efforts have been underwhelming, he gets a first-time visor and a better performance could be on the way. Pettigo reserves her best performances for this track and has been placed on both visits.

TANKARDSTOWN DIVA shaped well, particularly with a view to stepping back up in trip, when fifth in a big-field handicap at Galway (16.6f) 4 weeks ago and, remaining the type to do better still in handicaps, she makes a good deal of appeal here. My Policy and Pettigo can emerge as the lead threats, along with Andys Flame.

Considering that 2m might have been expected to be too short, TANKARDSTOWN DIVA (nap) ran well at Galway. She will be hard to beat now

15:47 Ripon Handicap (Class 2) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

The progressive Debora's Dream made most of the running to land a double last month, but may he well be taken on for the lead by Windsor runner-up Love De Vega today, and that could set the race up nicely for MAJOR PARTNERSHIP. Saeed bin Suroor's veteran is having his first start of the year, though has gone well fresh on more than on occasion in the past, and is only 3lb higher than when successful in this grade at Nottingham last summer.

A useful handicap that can go to PADISHAKH, well treated on his best French form and who might be set for a full revival after showing more at Thirsk fitted with a tongue tie. Hat-trick seeking 3-y-o Debora's Dream is a big player, while the returning Major Partnership can also go well.

This can go to DEBORA'S DREAM who looks a most progressive 3yo and is taken to complete a hat-trick.

15:52 Epsom Handicap (Class 4) 12f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GORDON GREY recorded a career-best effort when taking the Ladies' Derby over C&D and the reliable four-year-old may well have more to come, despite a 7lb rise. Warning Sign arrives following a brace of seconds, with the most recent effort seeing him beaten a head at Newbury. He is respected off 2lb higher, while Lord Melbourne, winner of the Queen Mother's Cup at York in June, is more than capable of being in the mix.

LORD MELBOURNE has started well for Ralph Beckett and likely has more to come, so he's the most appealing with Simon Walker on board. Recent C&D winner Gordon Grey is an obvious danger and Zhang Fei can't be dismissed.

Dropped back in class, LORD MELBOURNE should have a big say. Bug Boy and Gordon Grey are next on the list.

15:57 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 6f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BLACKJACK is the best place to start as he won with plenty up his sleeve over C&D at the beginning of the month. Despite going up 6lb for that, another bold showing looks assured and his supporters will be pleased to see that Hollie Doyle keeps the ride. Five Winds appreciated the switch back to a synthetic surface when finishing a neck second at Lingfield latest and she heads the list of dangers from Daytona Lady.

FIVE WINDS pulled clear with an unexposed 3-y-o at Lingfield when last seen a month ago and she meets nothing with that sort of profile here, so makes plenty of appeal. Last-time-out C&D winners Daytona Lady and Blackjack head the opposition.

Plenty of possibles but FIVE WINDS is progressive and the addition of cheekpieces could see her take another step forward.

16:02 Cartmel Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 22f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A change of scenery and 169-day layoff could be just what the doctor ordered for TIGER JET on his first appearance for the Jennie Candlish team. The eight-year-old is just 2lb higher than his last winning mark and could be worth chancing in an open contest. Elogio was beaten just over two lengths when fifth at Uttoxeter last time out and he's feared most, ahead of the distance-dropping Shantou Sunset.

Perhaps SKY LUNA can make a winning start to her handicapping career for the Jimmy Moffatt team. Shantou Sunset is another likely contender for the stable on the back of her good reappearance run over a longer trip here last month. Elogio may prove best of the remainder.

City Derby has to be feared in his bid for a five-timer but an interesting alternative might be SKY LUNA on handicap debut.

16:10 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

GILT EDGE bounced back to form when finishing an excellent second over this track and trip earlier this month and, nudged up 1lb, she edges preference in what looks a trappy affair on paper. C&D winner Marchetti may emerge as the main danger to the selection off just 3lb higher than that winning mark, while Porterinthejungle has the ability to play a hand in a race of this nature, although inconsistency continues to be the main concern with her.

GILT EDGE has a solid course record and arrives on the back of a good second over C&D, so he's marginally preferred to Marchetti, who finished well at Kempton last week. Romanovich is another obvious player in what looks quite a strong race for the grade.

After bumping into a revitalised opponent over C&D last month, MAVERICK STYLE is taken to go one better off the same mark today.

16:15 Downpatrick Maiden Chase 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

PRAIRIE DANCER could be dangerous if able to dictate in this small field. This talented hurdler has had three spins over the bigger obstacles and has to bounce back from a below-par run at Kilbeggan last month, but that is feasible. On his penultimate start over fences, he was second to a ready winner in Tipperary who boosted the form in a very competitive novice chase at Killarney on Saturday. Watch The Weather should be heavily involved on the back of a couple of third places in beginners' chases at Wexford. There is surely more to come from Pacini in this discipline while Bukhill, who unseated at Tramore, isn't out of it.

Joseph O'Brien's PRAIRIE DANCER is taken to shrug off a below-par run at Kilbeggan and prove too strong for Watch The Weather.

This will probably concern PRAIRIE DANCER and Watch The Weather, who are the pick on the best of their hurdle and chase form.

16:20 Ripon Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

STRONG JOHNSON won twice at this time last year, including a victory over this course a distance. Paul Midgley's sprinter races off a 7lb lower mark today and recent placed efforts suggest a return to winning ways is imminent. He looks to have most to fear from recent Musselburgh runner-up Our Absent Friends, given both Ingleby Archie and High Opinion have looked in the grip of the handicapper since landing doubles during the summer.

STRONG JOHNSON's losing run is mounting up but he's lurking on a handy mark as a result and following solid placed efforts on each of his last 2 starts, he could be worth siding with from a handy draw. Woobay, if shrugging off a lesser effort, and 3-y-o Scoops Ahoy also command a second look, as does Our Absent Friends, who has gone close on 2 of his last 3 starts.

Woobay and Our Absent Friends are high on the list but STRONG JOHNSON is eased slightly in grade and can come out on top.

16:25 Epsom Handicap (Class 5) 8f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Big Bear Hug appeared to be slightly unlucky in third here at the start of the month, when attempting to follow up her course victory over 1m2f the time before. She got the better of AMANCIO (second) on that occasion, but the drop back in trip should play to the latter's strengths and it wouldn't be a huge surprise if Jack Channon's charge reversed the form. Others to consider include Atlantis Blue and Unreal Connection.

A tricky puzzle to solve but the most persuasive option is ATLANTIS BLUE, who did well to get as close as she did in pursuit of a hat-trick when fourth at Sandown earlier this month and George Baker's mare remains of interest despite a 2 lb rise. The main threat may emerge from Crimson Spirit, who shaped encouragingly having been caught wide at York last month, with Unreal Connection and Lunatick fancied to go well, too.

The narrow vote goes to ATLANTIS BLUE ahead of Unreal Connection, Amancio and Big Bear Hug.

16:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This won't take much winning and previous C&D winner SO GRATEFUL could be ready to strike. His latest effort on the turf at Redcar was an encouraging one in defeat, as he only went down by half a length into third over this trip. High Velocity has been running well enough in defeat over 5f on turf and is noted, but a bigger danger to the selection might be Al Ameen in the first-time visor.

The interesting one here is HIGH VELOCITY given the assessor has taken a major chance with him back on his favoured surface. The return to the AW will also suit Bellagio Man so he's a definite threat, along with So Grateful.

The return to AW could see WATERMELON SUGAR bounce back to form. Shalaa Asker is feared most.

16:40 Cartmel Handicap Chase (Class 3) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

ILIKEDWAYURTHINKIN has been revived by a switch to chasing, as evidenced with two ready victories over C&D in recent months. A 3lb rise in the ratings for the veteran's latest triumph looks more than workable judged on his previous exploits when racing in Ireland. Although Jerrash hasn't always convinced with his jumping in this discipline, he's a threat if putting it all together. The Kayf Tara gelding may give the selection most to think about, ahead of Charlie Uberalles.

TOMMIE BEAU won over fences and hurdles here in the space of 48 hours in May and could be well placed to strike again after a fine run in second over the smaller obstacles at Saturday's meeting. Old rival Charlie Uberalles is respected back chasing, while Ilikedwayurthinkin is a big player bidding for a C&D hat-trick.

The pick is ILIKEDWAYURTHINKIN (nap), who does not look harshly treated by a 3lb rise for the latter of his two C&D wins this season.

16:45 Chepstow Maiden (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Quicker ground conditions were to blame for TICKTYBOO's last-placed finish in a 14-runner handicap at York last month and he holds leading claims reverting to maiden company. The Showcasing gelding ticks plenty of the right boxes on previous performances and a belated breakthrough victory could be on the horizon. All Ways Glamorous offered more encouragement on his runner-up effort at Windsor a fortnight ago and he may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of I Can't Believe.

Mashadi got back on track at Newmarket on Saturday, but this is a very quick turnaround so a chance is taken on TICKTY BOO, who had a shocker at York last time but should go very close with a repeat of his penultimate second at Newcastle. All Ways Glamourous took a step forward from his debut last time and completes the shortlist.

Mashadi has the best form but TICKTYBOO might be able to ruffle his feathers under these conditions.

16:50 Downpatrick Handicap Chase 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Rated much lower over fences compared to her hurdles mark of 128, DESERT HEATHER could prove hard to beat. The eight-year-old was fourth in a Listed contest when sent off favourite on her penultimate start and she clearly didn't enjoy very testing conditions when last seen at Clonmel in December. Successful at Kilbeggan in July, Aliunde is sure to have plenty of supporters, while dual course winner Robin De Roost is another to consider.

ALIUNDE had a bit in hand at Ballinrobe a fortnight ago and an 8 lb rise doesn't look enough to stop Mark McNiff's charge. Calahill ran well at Cartmel last time and is second choice ahead of Desert Heather, who progressed into a useful hurdler for Declan Queally and has scope from her much lower chase mark if new trainer Rodger Sweeney has her primed after 8 months off.

The mare DESERT HEATHER has achieved little in three previous runs over regulation fences but she's thrown in on her hurdling form.

16:55 Ripon Stakes (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Stepping back up in trip looks like a good move for KEEN INTEREST, having been outpaced late on when not beaten far over 1m at Yarmouth last week following a 1m3f success at Yarmouth. Alice Haynes' charge seems well treated by the conditions of this contest, and it may be that Laudable gives him the most to think about following a taking success at Ayr when having his first go at this distance. Peripeteia and Tiberio Force are likely to be thereabouts as well.

PERIPETEIA might prove the answer at a venue where she's tasted success before. Keen Interest is a 3-y-o who arrives in form and is feared most ahead of Going Underground and Laudable.

Philip Kirby's C&D scorer PERIPETEIA is taken to resume winning ways on the back of his very good Catterick third last time out

17:00 Epsom Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Dream Of Mischief returned to winning ways at this track 10 days ago, having run with plenty of credit in defeat on his outings prior to that success. He is expected to be in the mix once again, but a chance is taken with GUITEAU. A C&D winner on his return to action in July, he raced far too keenly when tried over a mile at Sandown last time and the return to 7f, combined with a good draw, can see him bounce back. Shot Of Love, Giorgio M and Extrication appeal most of the remainder.

SHOT OF LOVE arrives in form and might be able to resume winning ways from a handy inside stall. Recent Chepstow scorer Redredrobin rates an obvious danger, while Guiteau also merits respect back at a venue which suits. The shortlist is completed by Extrication, who remains unexposed back from a short break.

This looks competitive and brings tactical complications with the number of would-be front-runners. DREAM OF MISCHIEF gets the vote.

17:05 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A change of scenery appears to have revitalised WALEYFA. The six-year-old forged clear to win at Brighton on last week's debut for a new yard and a 5lb penalty may not be enough to anchor her in this. Boujee Gold finished a close-up third over 7f at Doncaster and returns to her winning distance with strong claims, while Chelmsford runner-up Meng Tian makes more appeal than Handel of the remainder.

WALEYFA capitalised on a falling mark on her first outing for a new yard at Brighton last week after 6 months off and looks up to defying a penalty if not finding this coming too soon. Handel and Meng Tian are feared most.

It may be worth taking a chance with BACK FROM DUBAI who is lower in the weights than for three of his five course wins.

17:10 Ballinrobe Maiden Hurdle 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

ONE BIG BOUM has the rating to win this if doing things right. His best effort came when fourth in a Killarney novice over 2m4f, after which he jumped poorly and didn't stay over 3m at Cork and then was too keen at Kilbeggan when last seen. If he settles and jumps better, he should take a bit of beating. Granpa Ger has a bit to find on ratings but has run well in handicaps on his last two starts and he will be suited by stepping back up in trip. Mount Anglesby was a well-backed favourite when second to a longshot on stable debut at Tramore. He should also appreciate the extra quarter-mile here.

MOUNT ANGLESBY failed to justify favouritism at Tramore 10 days ago but it was by no means a bad start for this new yard and compensation may well await. Tell Me This and Eoin's Charm are a couple of potential dangers.

If he does things right, namely settling and jumping better, ONE BIG BOUM has enough ability to win a maiden of this standard

17:15 Cartmel Handicap Chase (Class 3) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

SEAN OG has taken his form to a higher level over the larger obstacles with a C&D success on his penultimate start. The six-year-old followed that up with a second-placed effort here last month and remains unexposed on only his sixth chase start. The Flier Begley appears to be on a fair mark if stepping back in the right direction following his latest effort over hurdles. On My Bike is also noted.

SEAN OG continues in good heart and is fast becoming a Cartmel specialist, so is marginally preferred to Dr Sanderson, who again ran well here on Saturday and has backed up quickly before.

Sean Og would rate serious consideration should the ground dry but a chance is taken on COQOLINO returning to form off a good mark.

17:20 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 6f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A return to 6f enabled a much-improved performance from recent Brighton runner-up MILLIETHEMOLLIE. Tony Carroll's three-year-old makes plenty of appeal racing off an unchanged mark and a second career triumph looks more than possible. Vaunted arrives on the back of two solid placed efforts at Bath and she's likely to be in the shake-up once more. The five-year-old is feared most, marginally more than Louis Treize, who made an encouraging stable debut when a close-up second over C&D 11 days ago.

LOUIS TREIZE was just touched off over C&D recently having attracted support and, if he can back that up, he could have enough to get the better of the likes of Vaunted and Gherkin, who both deserve respect.

Louis Treize ran well here recently but GHERKIN (nap) has a very solid record on turf slower than good and gets the vote.

17:25 Downpatrick Handicap Chase 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

WINDING RIVER clearly enjoys his trips to Downpatrick and has yet to finish outside the first three in five visits to the venue. A runner-up on three of his last four starts, he can go well once again. The hat-trick seeking Presenting Lad is sure to prove popular once again. Faux Fur was narrowly behind Presenting Lad at Tramore and is likely to give a good account of herself, while Galway winner Son Of Hypnos is another with claims.

The versatile SON OF HYPNOS may be able to land a second course chase win. Gordon Elliott handicap chase newcomer Faux Fur is an obvious threat under Jack Kennedy, with Winding River next on the list.

Competitive. WINDING RIVER deserves a break over fences and he might get one now returning to the scene of both his hurdle wins.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A determined winner over further at Yarmouth last month in a classified stakes contest that has worked out well since, SHIELD OF HONOUR looks more than capable of following up in this amateur jockeys' contest from a plum inside draw. Masque Of Anarchy almost ended a long losing streak when narrowly denied at Beverley last time out and he is entitled to be thereabouts again. Others to note include Chicago al, Edwina Sheeran and Irv.

MASQUE OF ANARCHY can gain compensation for his Beverley near miss and win this race for the second time in the last 3 years. Irv, Chicago Gal and Shield of Honour head the dangers.

Craig Lidster's MASQUE OF ANARCHY looks primed for a bold showing on the back of his good Beverley second last time out so gets the nod

17:35 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 8f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ZIPSTER did well to finish within a couple of lengths of the winner when fourth at Haydock, given he was slowly away and failed to get a clear run. He can launch a serious bid off his current mark with more to come. Keep Warm failed to trouble the winner when second at York, but this is less competitive and he merits consideration, while Havanarama also enters calculations back at this lower level having gone close at Doncaster in June.

This has an open feel but ZIPSTER could still have more to offer given how he shaped at Haydock and gets the vote. Keep Warm and Commander of Life head the dangers.

Zipster is dangerous after a better run at Haydock but HAVANARAMA drops back in grade and gets the tentative vote.

17:40 Ballinrobe Handicap Hurdle 18f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MORDOR has had a fine summer with two hurdle wins and a victory on the level. His only defeat in his last four starts came at Galway where he was a creditable second in a novice contest on the opening evening of the festival and Gordon Elliott's charge can confirm placings with third home Pigeon House. The latter, winner of a big-field handicap at the Punchestown festival and a creditable sixth in a competitive handicap later in the week at Ballybrit, is a little better off at the weights with the selection but it doesn't look enough to turn around the form. Burvea got off the mark in maiden company at Wexford and gets plenty of weight from the aforementioned pair.

A quintet to view positively with the case the MORDOR the most compelling on the back of a career-best win at Downpatrick. Pigeon House and Burvea can offer most resistance.

In tremendous form lately, MORDOR has the beating of Pigeon House on their meeting in a Galway novice and can confirm that form

17:50 Cartmel Handicap Chase (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

FORCING BULL may have not appreciated a relatively quick turnaround when finishing fifth over C&D just 13 days after scoring at Uttoxeter on his chasing debut. Donald McCain's gelding is expected to bounce back and prove too strong for the opposition. Wee Charlie has to be on the shortlist returning to fences for the first time since March, while Grand Soufle isn't to be discounted either.

CUZCO DU MATHAN has got back on track since the visor was applied, opening his chase account over C&D in July and matching that form when runner-up back here on Saturday. He holds solid claims turned out quickly. Fellow chase winner Forcing Bull has been given more of a break following his last run and he's feared, along with Supposedtobe, who remains open to improvement in this sphere.

Preference is for FORCING BULL who may be able to dominate this small field. Cuzco Du Mathan is second choice.

18:05 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A relatively disappointing third when last seen at Hamilton in May, JUDGEMENTOFSOLOMON has been given a break and a gelding operation since which could see him improve for going up in trip. A half-brother to Pondus, who ran in a Melbourne Cup, the three-year-old is bred to relish it, and he could have too much for recent Nottingham scorer Defence Treaty, as well as the unexposed Environment Amigo.

JUDGEMENTOFSOLOMON has more to offer now his stamina is drawn out further and he makes plenty of appeal on his first start back after a gelding operation. Environment Amigo is the danger ahead of Defence Treaty.

The call is ENVIRONMENT AMIGO (nap) who ran his best race here and whose pedigree suggests he should relish this stiffer test.

18:10 Ballinrobe Maiden Hurdle 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Philip Rothwell and John Ryan both do well here and have leading contenders in this maiden with preference for the former's WORKINONADREAM. Runner-up in three bumpers last year for her previous yard, the selection has shown plenty of promise in her first two hurdle outings and stepping up in trip, plus the addition of headgear, should aid her cause. Ryan is represented by Kate Knows Best who herself ran well in bumpers, including here, and has found only one too good in both hurdle starts. On hurdling debut, she had Lucky Viv four lengths away over this trip at Killarney. That was a return to form for the latter who was runner-up in a couple of maidens last summer.

WORKINONADREAM will need to jump a bit more fluently but cheekpieces may help her concentrate better and she gets the vote ahead of Gina Moon, who looks sure to improve for this sort of test, and Lucky Viv.

Philip Rothwell does well here and WORKINONADREAM, who is fitted with headgear, has shaped with promise in both outings over hurdles

18:40 Ballinrobe Handicap Hurdle 22f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

KILN TIME had a good spell of form in staying handicaps last winter with three seconds and a win. He stays further and can take this on his first start since rejoining his original trainer. A six-month layoff is a concern but he ran well after a similar absence when placed on handicap debut in November. A hurdles winner in France, Le Grand Vert then spent time in Britain before making a successful Irish debut in a chase at Roscommon. He makes a quick reappearance after finishing fourth over fences at Kilbeggan on Friday. Johnny Cakes ran his best race so far when making the frame over C&D in May while market support would be significant for Spellacy's Cross.

KILN TIME is potentially on a good mark back with his former yard so gets the nod over Le Grand Vert and Great Rainbow.

A solid performer in similar contests during the winter, KILN TIME is chosen on his first start since returning to the Bowe yard

19:10 Ballinrobe Conditions Chase 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

This looks a good opportunity for DANCING ON MY OWN. By far the highest rated of those with a mark, the Henry de Bromhead-trained 10-year-old was last seen finishing second in a much stronger contest at Killarney in July. With a course and distance win to her name, Je T'ai Porte appears the danger. Already twice successful over fences this season, she is turned out again quickly after finishing down the field at Killarney on Thursday. Mount Frisco was also in action at the Co Kerry venue on Thursday, finishing second to Dutch Schultz. A runner-up four times since winning at Tramore on New Year's Day, another good effort can be expected from the John Ryan-trained five-year-old. Thunder is another Ryan representative in the line-up and she is likely to struggle, while Decimation completes the field.

An excellent opportunity for the smart DANCING ON MY OWN to resume winning ways. Je t'ai Porte is a clear next best.

Though he is arguably more effective at a left-handed track and on better ground, DANCING ON MY OWN should still win

19:40 Ballinrobe Maiden Chase 23f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

LINDEN ARDEN is the given the chance to redeem himself after disappointing at Sligo. A fine third in a good quality contest here on his penultimate outing, the well-bred six-year-old starts off over fences now. Ring O Roses has a course win to her name and came in for good market support when fourth on her debut over fences at Wexford last month. Entitled to improve for that experience, it'll be interesting to see how she fares, stepping up in trip. There was just half-a-length between An Peann Dearg and Quest With Speed when they clashed at Wexford recently and they both look to have solid claims, while Bua Boy, Joyeux Vivo and Ossifer Hops are others for the shortlist.

AN PEANN DEARG might well have won a handicap at Wexford last time but for a significant mistake when the race was taking shape and he might not need to improve to open his account. Joyeux Vivo is open to improvement following an encouraging chasing debut, so he may emerge as the main danger, while Bua Boy should be on the premises.

A hopeful choice is chase debutant LINDEN ARDEN who ran well over hurdles here in May and is bred to do well at this game

20:10 Ballinrobe NH Flat Race 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

SEO LINN finished second and was unfortunate to come up against a smart Willie Mullins-trained gelding on debut. She finished ahead of two subsequent winners on that occasion and in against her own sex now, she looks the one to beat. One of two Henry de Bromhead-trained representatives in the line-up, Time In A Bottle is the danger. A half-sister to Embassy Gardens, she improved from her initial effort to finish second at Killarney last month and it'll come as no surprise if she manages to go a place better now. A New Deck is the most interesting of the four debutants in the line-up. Bought for €28,000 at the Goffs Arkle Sale, she is a half-sister to the Gordon Elliott-trained dual bumper winner Wingmen.

SEO LINN made a highly promising start when runner-up at this course three months ago and, with improvement on the cards, she's marginally preferred to Time In A Bottle, who is closely matched with her on form. Tangara Bay is an interesting newcomer for a top stable.

Having been well fancied when runner-up in a C&D bumper on debut in May, SEO LINN (nap) can go one better today.
