14:12 Southwell Stakes (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Penalised winners Mademoiselle and Eartha must enter calculations, with the latter's lightly-raced profile making her of more interest. However, SUNSHINE SOUL shades the verdict in receipt of weight from that pair after posting a fine second in a class 2 novice at Pontefract last month. George Boughey's filly drops in class for this assignment and a breakthrough victory looks imminent.

SUNSHINE SOUL has looked potentially useful on two of her three outings to date and should have enough ability to get the better of Eartha in receipt of 4 lb. Nightbird is the next best on form but lacks the potential of the aforementioned pair.

A few of these have possibilities but the one with the most compelling form is SUNSHINE SOUL. Second choice is Eartha.

14:47 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 7f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

NOTRE DAME looked close to her best when a close-up second over an extended 1m at Wolverhampton last month. A 1lb nudge up in the ratings looks on lenient side for the daughter of Kingman and she's fancied to regain the winning thread. The fitting of a first-time visor may eke some improvement in the Michael Bell-trained Mammy and she's feared most, ahead of Fariha.

GOD BLESS AMERICA arrives on the back of a couple of solid efforts, finishing to good effect when fifth at Kempton last time, and he's worth a chance to capitalise on a drop in grade for all that stall 12 isn't ideal. Fariha remains with potential and looks a danger along with Notre Dame.

The choice is GOD BLESS AMERICA who finished runner-up in both visits here and who drops in grade.

15:22 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Having justified favouritism at Wolverhampton over 7f last time out, Amroon warrants respect off just 3lb higher in the ratings. However, this return to 6f could leave Marco Botti's inmate vulnerable to a speedier rival, with LOCHABER fitting the bill. The Havana Grey gelding arrives on the back of a close-up second at Chepstow. The in-form Alibi Warning is also likely to be involved at the business end.

CARMARTHEN tasted success the last time she tackled the AW and with her Ffos Las run easy to draw a line through, she can get back on track here. Alibi Warning is pretty solid at this lowly level so is second choice, ahead of Lochaber.

Amroon is solid enough but the return to AW could spark a revival from RAFT UP and he's thrown in if that's the case.

15:57 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 6f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BLACKJACK is the best place to start as he won with plenty up his sleeve over C&D at the beginning of the month. Despite going up 6lb for that, another bold showing looks assured and his supporters will be pleased to see that Hollie Doyle keeps the ride. Five Winds appreciated the switch back to a synthetic surface when finishing a neck second at Lingfield latest and she heads the list of dangers from Daytona Lady.

FIVE WINDS pulled clear with an unexposed 3-y-o at Lingfield when last seen a month ago and she meets nothing with that sort of profile here, so makes plenty of appeal. Last-time-out C&D winners Daytona Lady and Blackjack head the opposition.

Plenty of possibles but FIVE WINDS is progressive and the addition of cheekpieces could see her take another step forward.

16:30 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This won't take much winning and previous C&D winner SO GRATEFUL could be ready to strike. His latest effort on the turf at Redcar was an encouraging one in defeat, as he only went down by half a length into third over this trip. High Velocity has been running well enough in defeat over 5f on turf and is noted, but a bigger danger to the selection might be Al Ameen in the first-time visor.

The interesting one here is HIGH VELOCITY given the assessor has taken a major chance with him back on his favoured surface. The return to the AW will also suit Bellagio Man so he's a definite threat, along with So Grateful.

The return to AW could see WATERMELON SUGAR bounce back to form. Shalaa Asker is feared most.

17:05 Southwell Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A change of scenery appears to have revitalised WALEYFA. The six-year-old forged clear to win at Brighton on last week's debut for a new yard and a 5lb penalty may not be enough to anchor her in this. Boujee Gold finished a close-up third over 7f at Doncaster and returns to her winning distance with strong claims, while Chelmsford runner-up Meng Tian makes more appeal than Handel of the remainder.

WALEYFA capitalised on a falling mark on her first outing for a new yard at Brighton last week after 6 months off and looks up to defying a penalty if not finding this coming too soon. Handel and Meng Tian are feared most.

It may be worth taking a chance with BACK FROM DUBAI who is lower in the weights than for three of his five course wins.

17:35 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 8f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ZIPSTER did well to finish within a couple of lengths of the winner when fourth at Haydock, given he was slowly away and failed to get a clear run. He can launch a serious bid off his current mark with more to come. Keep Warm failed to trouble the winner when second at York, but this is less competitive and he merits consideration, while Havanarama also enters calculations back at this lower level having gone close at Doncaster in June.

This has an open feel but ZIPSTER could still have more to offer given how he shaped at Haydock and gets the vote. Keep Warm and Commander of Life head the dangers.

Zipster is dangerous after a better run at Haydock but HAVANARAMA drops back in grade and gets the tentative vote.

18:05 Southwell Handicap (Class 5) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A relatively disappointing third when last seen at Hamilton in May, JUDGEMENTOFSOLOMON has been given a break and a gelding operation since which could see him improve for going up in trip. A half-brother to Pondus, who ran in a Melbourne Cup, the three-year-old is bred to relish it, and he could have too much for recent Nottingham scorer Defence Treaty, as well as the unexposed Environment Amigo.

JUDGEMENTOFSOLOMON has more to offer now his stamina is drawn out further and he makes plenty of appeal on his first start back after a gelding operation. Environment Amigo is the danger ahead of Defence Treaty.

The call is ENVIRONMENT AMIGO (nap) who ran his best race here and whose pedigree suggests he should relish this stiffer test.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
