5th (5) Locked On
5Tom BellamyJack JonesWell held in two bumpers and the same story on hurdling debut when 250-1; now sent further.
7th (14) Sullivan Bay
4Paul O'BrienHenrietta C KnightPulled up behind Sir Gino on his hurdling debut at Kempton over Christmas; 1m5f AW winner in the meantime (tongue-tie returned) but at a lowly level and he's an unlikely winner of this.
(3) Dontaskchris
6Marc GoldsteinDiana GrissellInsufficient promise in two visits to Plumpton for a bumper and novice hurdle.
(7) Maryah Island
5Tom CannonOliver SignyTailed off in both his bumpers, the latest after a wind op; cheekpieces added to a tongue-tie.
(12) Drishogue
5Tabitha WorsleyNick GiffordWell behind All Authorized in a bumper here and was no better at Huntingdon when tried in a tongue-tie; now hooded as well.
(11) The Orchard Boy
5Richie McLernonNeil MulhollandOnly seventh in a British point; 66-1 for a good-ground maiden at Plumpton and was pulled up after weakening mid-race.
6th (10) Stardhem
5Ben JonesBen Pauling33-1 or bigger for all three starts; positives to take from his middle one (a maiden) but not a lot otherwise and best watched for now.
8th (13) Gotthereintheend
5Charlie PriceLaura HorsfallQuestionable what she achieved when runner-up in her first bumper and was then last of five in the second; 40-1 for hurdling debut at Huntingdon (2m3f, soft) and didn't show a lot.
3rd (9) Snapdance
5Bryan CarverRobert WalfordStayed on to be beaten 14l on hurdling debut at Wincanton and that was over 1m7f; could get in the mix if taking a step forward from there.
2nd (6) Lumi Plugin
5Caoilin QuinnGary MooreBeaten 22l in his final bumper but was a lot closer than that in his previous two and he should make a hurdler; however, Niall Houlihan has been aboard for all those races but he now rides the stablemate.
(8) Record High
7Harry BannisterSuzy SmithWon his bumper here more than two years ago; beaten 27l+ in his two hurdles and long absences are a feature in his profile.
4th (4) Electric Jet
5Gavin SheehanCharlie LongsdonSome promise in points; not strong form when third at Sedgefield (2m4f, soft) and he was beaten when falling after a more prominent ride at Hereford (good) in January; still one of the more talented members of this field and should be capable of better still.
9th (2) American Land
6Brendan PowellJoe TizzardPlaced in bumpers and a novice hurdle in late 2022; below that level since returning from nearly a year out, including after wind surgery at Wincanton in February when tried in a tongue-tie; has a lot to prove now but this isn't a deep race at all.
1st (1) All Authorized
5Niall HoulihanGary MooreWon his bumper here; now 0-6 over hurdles but he's proving consistent and seems to be able to show his form on all ground; a repeat of his latest third in a Plumpton handicap should see him difficult to beat here.

Some of these have the potential to get better but ALL AUTHORIZED sets the standard and, although he's not progressive, he is at least consistent. Electric Jet and American Land are on retrieval missions but are capable of having some say, yet Snapdance could be second best if coming on again from Wincanton.[Alistair Jones]

5th (5) Tango Echo Charlie
10Charlie HammondDr Richard Newland & Jamie InsoleSuccessful chase debut over C&D (good) last August but has gone into reverse in two starts since, pulled up each time; has it to prove on first run since November.
(6) Ticking Tom Bomb
8Brendan PowellJoe TizzardModest point form; two quite encouraging hurdle runs for new yard but he let favourite backers down on his handicap debut at Wincanton (1m7f, good to soft) and 3m on heavy ground was no good to him next time, either; now tongue tied but he goes chasing with a query against him.
2nd (2) Fix At All
8Richie McLernonNeil MulhollandHad some good results in hunter chases last spring (about 2m4f; good to soft and good); hasn't found it easy in handicaps for current yard but has been running in a higher grade and wasn't far away when last seen at Market Rasen in September; considered despite having fitness to prove.
4th (4) Tip Top Mountain
9Bryan CarverRobert WalfordTwo wins from five chase starts here; below best at Haydock latest but that might have come too soon following his 3m2f win here last month; has won on good ground but prefers good to soft or slower and this might not be enough of a test for him.
(1) Hardy Fella
7Tom BellamyEmma LavelleHas won a 3m hurdle but chase win came over 2m3f here (heavy; acts on good); no great progress since that November win and his lack of fluency contributed to him being pulled up some way out at Ludlow last time; chancy.
3rd (7) Joe Cotton
6Rex DingleJeremy ScottStruggled with testing going in points, where two wins came on good to firm and good to soft, but he handled heavy ground better than any in a recent slugfest on handicap debut at Exeter (2m3f); needs to show how that hard race has affected him and he now wears cheekpieces but he does have potential even allowing for the 10lb rise.
1st (3) Dreaming Blue
7Ben GodfreyAnthony HoneyballFour course runs and has won two of them, most recently when forging clear in his first chase here, over 2m2f (heavy) three weeks ago; back up 5lb but not weighted out of it on his form off this mark at Wincanton (2m4f, good) last spring; seriously competitive.

It wasn't easy for Joe Cotton or DREAMING BLUE despite their wide-margin wins last time out but there's a good chance that both will appreciate the drying ground and the latter is just preferred, given his good course record. Fix At All lacks a recent run but he is down in grade and is another who will find the going to his liking.[Emily Weber]

8th (16) Onnaroll
6Charlie PriceCynthia Woods15-race maiden; runner-up from 12lb out of the handicap over C&D (66-1) in September; has failed to better that in six subsequent starts, so it isn't all that difficult to focus on others for the solution; 10lb wrong.
9th (9) Ray's The One
7James BestMark PattinsonLast hurdles win came over C&D (good) in December 2022, having also won the same contest the previous year; nowhere near that level in recent times, finishing a remote fourth of five at Plumpton (2m4f; first time tongue-tie) 39 days ago; plenty to prove.
(13) Privatory
6Luke ScottPaddy ButlerMade a solid start to his career (two hurdle wins) but has found life tough going since, plummeting down the weights; seventh of 14 (beaten 25l) on final start for Gary Moore at Plumpton in January; 4lb lower on first go for Paddy Butler.
5th (12) Executive Pool
5Niall HoulihanGary MooreIdled when justifying favouritism at Hereford (2m, good to soft) last April; failed to kick on positively over hurdles, and hasn't exactly relished the recent switch to fences either; easing mark returning to hurdles; stablemate of Tara Iti and Bridge.
11th (4) Rocco Royale
6Richie McLernonJonjo O'NeillAll downhill since winning a 2m3f maiden here (soft; 11-10 favourite) last April; has eased a further 4lb since pulling up at Market Rasen (2m7f, heavy) last month; set to encounter better ground dropping back markedly in trip.
(1) Hallwood
7Tom BellamyMark RimellSprung a 40-1 surprise when winning a Carlisle maiden (2m1f, good to soft; first time tongue-tie) last February; struggled since and continues to fall in the weights; back in trip for first start since wind surgery.
6th (5) Gieves
6Liam HarrisonBen PaulingThe combination of a first-time hood and more patient tactics were offered as an explanation for the improved form shown when a clearcut winner at Worcester (2m maiden) in September; has run to a similar level (on RPR's) over further since; probably a shade high in the handicap.
4th (14) The Cox Express
5Bryan CarverRobert WalfordWarwick bumper winner (January 2023); hasn't offered much in seven attempts over hurdles, although did manage to finish third of eight over 2m3f here (beaten 8.75l) on penultimate start; safer options lie elsewhere.
(3) Beat The Heat
7Gavin SheehanJim BoyleWon three times over hurdles here (2m1f-2m3f) in 2022, but has undertaken the majority of his racing on the Flat since, winning a Class 6 handicap at Bath (1m6f) last summer; possibly sharper for recent Flat comeback run; prudent to consult the market.
(8) Tara Iti
6Rob HargreavesGary MooreUsually a force to be reckoned with at Fontwell (form figures 44121) and sits 4lb lower than scoring over C&D last summer; tailed off when last seen at Lingfield in February, but freshened up by a break since; one of three for Gary Moore.
3rd (2) John Betjeman
8Fergus GillardMark GillardAll three wins have come at Ffos Las (2m); placed at Wincanton on Boxing Day, and again at Huntingdon (2m, good) last time, without necessarily looking poised to take advantage of a continually easing mark.
(6) Trevor's Lad
6Tom CannonToby LawesPlaced in C&D novice on debut in November 2022 but less productive at Plumpton two months later and absent since; low-mileage, but does have questions to answer switching to handicap company for belated reappearance.
10th (15) What's My Line
7Rex DingleMichael MadgwickProfile implies that he's most proficient over shorter trips (won over 2m at Lingfield in November), so his latest modest third over 2m5f here can be excused; is capable from this kind of mark, but will probably find a few of the others stronger.
2nd (10) Bridge
4Caoilin QuinnGary MooreOff the mark in a weak juvenile maiden over C&D (soft) on Boxing Day; ran to a similar level when placed in handicap company (Southwell and Lingfield) on his next two appearances, before struggling at Sandown; tendency to race too freely remains a worry; one of three for Gary Moore.
7th (11) Macari
4Marc GoldsteinSheena WestImproved since sent handicapping; accounted for the subsequent Taunton scorer Soir De Gala (runs later today at Exeter) when off the mark over a similar trip at Plumpton 18 days ago; 8lb higher, although still 3lb well in, as he bids to double-up; rock-solid credentials.
1st (7) Solar System
5Ben JonesPhilip Hobbs & Johnson WhiteRaced too freely when upped in trip for handicap debut at Taunton (2m3f, soft; third of 14; 7-2 joint-favourite) last month; has to be of interest now dropping back in distance in newly applied headgear; one of the likeliest candidates.

With his recent Plumpton success well advertised, the handicapper has taken swift action in an attempt to thwart the forward momentum of Macari. Sheena West's charge has rock-solid credentials, and is still 3lb well in, in a very winnable contest. However, with a hood now applied to curb his natural enthusiasm, there could also be significantly more to come from the J P McManus-owned SOLAR SYSTEM (nap). [Mark Rowntree]

(12) Dance To Fame
9Niall HoulihanRichard RowePoint winner (May 2021); nothing worthwhile in three attempts under rules, the last couple of those (Kempton and Lingfield) since returning from a mammoth absence; no obvious reason to expect better for the switch to handicapping; look elsewhere.
(1) Tzarmix
6Max KendrickJonjo O'NeillChepstow novice winner (2m3f, soft) for Sam Thomas; fared okay on second start for this trainer at Ffos Las (3m, heavy; fourth of nine, beaten 18l; first-time tongue-tie) in November; off since, which raises concerns, but the drop back to 2m3f looks helpful.
(5) In The Air
6Tom CannonAdam WestWon twice during his time with Gary Moore, including narrowly over C&D (good; 11-4; from an 8lb higher mark) last spring; lost his way late last year, and is yet to show any signs of a revival in three starts for Adam West; risky, but easing mark and drying ground could assist.
(9) Westtara
9Marc GoldsteinDiana GrissellUndertaken the bulk of his racing in points, winning a 3m maiden at Aldington (soft) last April; fair third in a Plumpton maiden (2m4f, good; 50-1) recently and switches to handicapping at a realistic level; others are more obvious.
(3) Scorsese
6Richie McLernonNeil MulhollandPoint winner who also showed ability in three maiden hurdles (2m-2m6f) in Ireland for Colm Murphy in 2023; tailed-off last of eight on handicap and stable debut at Uttoxeter (2m4f, heavy, 20-1); 3lb lower; may need more time to acclimatise.
4th (11) Through The Ages
4Caoilin QuinnGary MooreEx-Godolphin; made all, jumping well for back-to-back juvenile wins Newbury and Plumpton (2m, soft), but came up well short when folding tamely on handicap debut at Sandown (last of eight, beaten 64l) six weeks ago; set to encounter sounder surface here, albeit with stamina to prove.
3rd (2) Cape Vidal
7Ben GodfreyAnthony HoneyballRidden out to score over C&D (novices', good) in October; absent until returning for handicap debut at Ludlow (2m5f, soft) recently, pulling up after losing his action approaching the home turn; strong in the market there, so interesting to see if he can bounce back.
(7) Decorated
6Gavin SheehanOliver SignyMade all at Taunton (2m3f, heavy; first time tongue-tie; from 2lb higher) last March; mixed fortunes this season; working slowly back to form post wind surgery, and better at Exeter (2m5f, soft; fourth, beaten 17l) last time; this shorter trip should suit.
(10) Siam Park
5Brendan PowellJoe TizzardTwice in the frame at Wincanton (1m7f maiden), running to an RPR of 101 on the second occasion; too free when less competitive at Taunton (sixth) latest, but may have more to offer as he switches to handicapping (up in trip) in a newly applied tongue-tie; consult the market.
(6) Master Dancer
7Harry BannisterRichard J BandeyStratford winner (2m novices', good) in October 2022; lightly raced since - did have a spell over fences - and acquitted himself well enough despite fading after the last when third at Huntingdon (2m4f, good, Kansas Du Berlais second) recently; possibilities.
2nd (4) Kansas Du Berlais
5Lee EdwardsAdam WestDual course winner, the latest coming over C&D (novices', good, 10-11 favourite) last April; keeping-on second on return from further wind surgery at Huntingdon (2m4f, good; first-time hood, with Master Dancer third) recently; preferred to stablemate In The Air.
1st (8) Hecouldbetheone
7Tom BellamyJames OwenWon twice for Gary Moore, including here, in late 2021/early 2022; returned from an 18-month absence to be well held in three runs (two over fences) for Chris Gordon before moving to James Owen; fared no better in a Class 3 at Newbury latest, so cheekpeices are now applied.

Huntingdon evidence suggests that there isn't much between Kansas Du Berlais and Master Dancer. Market support for Siam Park (second choice) would tip the scales towards Joe Tizzard's newly tongue-tied handicap debutant, but the suggestion is the early season C&D winner CAPE VIDAL, who can hopefully bounce back from Ludlow. 7James BestEmma-Jane BishopEnded last season with two soft-ground wins at Huntingdon (2m4f) and will be fine on the quicker surface here but has been out of form this term (four starts) and needs to turn things around.
9th (6) Touch Tight
12Mr Phillip YorkPhil YorkPlaced twice over 3m at Southwell (good) last summer and returned from layoff with three point seconds in February/March; not getting any younger but should be okay over today's trip and current mark ought to be workable.

8Marc GoldsteinKaren JewellPulled up on heavy ground over C&D in February and now 0-27 under all codes; continues to slip down the weights and is back on a quicker surface today but still makes only limited appeal.
(5) La Breille
5Harry BannisterRichard J BandeyLightly raced and generally very disappointing since winning Fakenham juvenile hurdle (2m, good) in October 2022; makes chasing debut after 190-day absence and over new trip; others have much less to prove.
6th (10) Elzaaro
6Brendan PowellKaren JewellMade just a mildly encouraging handicap hurdle debut when fourth of seven at Huntingdon (2m3f, soft) last month but remains unexposed and is open to improvement on today's chasing debut.
7th (8) Concrete King
10Bryan CarverNeil MulhollandHas very mixed record this season but ran well and looked the likely winner for a long way before weakening into third over C&D (heavy; just behind Mister Murchan) last month; 2lb lower today; can't rule out.
4th (7) Jack Doyen
8Jack QuinlanBen CaseExploited some help from the handicapper when scoring at Hereford (2m5f, soft) last month and was second there off today's mark ten days ago; may not be ideally suited by the quicker ground here but still considered.
5th (1) Flamelco
6Caoilin QuinnGary MoorePlaced off 7lb higher at Lingfield (2m, good to soft) in November and looked set to open British account over C&D (heavy) in February, only to tire on the run-in; contender if judged on those exploits but is not very consistent and needs to bounce back from last month's disappointing run.
(3) Mister Murchan
11Niall HoulihanRichard RoweNo longer the force of old but was runner-up twice on heavy ground last month, latterly off today's mark over C&D; can give another good account providing the ground does not become too lively for him.
3rd (9) Guivinec
5Rex DingleAnthony HoneyballWinning pointer (on good to soft) who was a respectable fourth of 11 on handicap hurdle debut at Wincanton (1m7f, heavy) six weeks ago and remains unexposed under rules; back up in trip for chasing debut; could pose a potent threat if he takes well to fences.

Jack Doyen and Mister Murchan (preferred in that order) have both been running fairly well in recent weeks but it might be worth chancing chasing debutant GUIVINEC, who made a very respectable handicap hurdle debut six weeks ago and, if last spring's wide-margin point win is a guide, could have a good future over fences.[Chris Wilson]

6Ben GodfreyAnthony HoneyballShowed some ability in qualifying runs and she hadn't been shaken off when taking an heavy fall two out on her handicap debut at Wincanton (1m7f, good) last March; seemed to need the run at Wincanton on her comeback in February and this return to forecast quicker ground looks a positive; one to keep an eye on.
3rd (5) Ryder's Rock
6Brendan PowellJoe TizzardDisappointing at Newton Abbot when last seen in October but the step up to 2m5f may have backfired and she enters the reckoning on her second in a novice there (2m2f, good to soft) last summer; this is only her third handicap and she's not ruled out on her return.
4th (9) Trickalight
8Chris WardDeborah ColeWon an Irish point in April 2021 but she's 0-10 under rules and has form figures of PP8565 in handicaps (2m3f-2m7f); mark continues to fall but she needs a transformation on this big drop back in trip; hood and tongue-tie return.
(7) Opticality
6Cameron IlesMitchell HuntTwo AW wins on the Flat including at Southwell (1m3f) on her penultimate run last month; 0-4 over hurdles but was a respectable fifth of 13 in a Taunton handicap (2m, soft) in January and she still has potential in this sphere; could be dangerous back over hurdles.
(6) Mays Hill
6Connor BraceFergal O'BrienWon a good-ground bumper here last May; no impact in three hurdle runs last summer but it is still early days in this sphere and she should have a future in handicaps; needs watching in market back from 259 days off.
(8) Happy Index
6Jack QuinlanPaul WebberWon a Ludlow handicap (2m5f, good) off 1lb lower last May but she's not gone on from that and was a well-held fifth at Huntington 18 days ago; record now stands at 1-11 and she has something to prove back in trip; first-time visor replaces cheekpieces.
1st (1) Bethpage
6Tom BellamyEmma LavelleSister to 2m hurdle winner Some Spin; showed ability in bumpers and there has been some promise in her three hurdle runs, including a third of six at Wincanton (1m7f, heavy) in January; looks open to progress now switched to a handicap and she's an interesting contender.
2nd (2) Lady Caro
6Ben JonesEmma LavelleWasn't beaten far in her final bumper and she shaped with promise in big-field events in first two hurdle runs; had a daunting task behind Golden Ace at Taunton last time and this is much more realistic on her handicap debut; one of two runners for Emma Lavelle and she needs a close look.

This looks tricky and the market should be highly informative. Lady Caro had a daunting task in her final qualifying run and should have a future in handicaps, but slight preference is for her stablemate BETHPAGE, who is also unexposed in this sphere and is a sister to a 2m hurdle winner. Dual Flat scorer Opticality could be dangerous on her return to hurdling, while course bumper winner Mays Hill also enters the reckoning along with Ryder's Rock.[David Moon]
