3Keithen KennedyJohn Andrew Kinsella9-race maiden; unlucky not to win this season; okay run in a 6f handicap at Cork on Wednesday but will struggle here from 9lb out of the handicap.
(3) Shandy
3Darragh O'SullivanJ A StackCame back to form when coming home strongly to land the Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes at Naas last month; needs plenty of rain to be a factor here.
(5) The Highway Rat
6W J LeeA OliverSix career wins and a better horse on polytrack; 4lb lower than when a close fifth in this race last year; off since May but comes into it at his best.
(7) Follow Me

(12) Apricot Ice
3Gary CarrollG M LyonsUp 10lb for winning a maiden and a handicap here in May and June; exposed in stakes company twice since; tongue-tie tried but the stable second string and others more likely.
(20) Bold Optimist
4Wayne HassettDaniel McLoughlinGot up close home to win a 5f handicap here last month; never a factor after a tardy start in a valuable handicap at York last month; tough task here but could go well.
(23) No More Porter

4th (22) Keke
4Nathan CrosseEdward LynamHighly progressive in winning his last three starts; the winning margins have been narrow and an aggregate 14lb rise leaves him still on a reasonable mark, even if he is 1lb wrong here.

3Colin KeaneG M LyonsHas sustained a high level of form this season, winning the Listed Dash here in June and a close third in the Group 3 Phoenix Stakes last time; did not get much luck in running in the Scurry on his previous start; will be bang there if running to his best and getting some luck in running.
(10) Heavenly Power
6Wayne LordanEdward LynamConsistent performer, including in big handicaps, and returned to winning ways when edging out Apache Outlaw in a C&D handicap last month; up 4lb and should not be far away.
(21) Jon Riggens
6James RyanEdward LynamThree-time winner; has to be delivered late and can be frustrating, runner-up on five occasions; not beaten far in fourth behind stablemate Heavenly Power here last month.
(16) Summerghand

(17) Greek Flower
5Jamie PowellJohn James FeaneWon back-to-back last term including a 6f course win on heavy and has hit the crossbar in each of her three starts this season; second in the Rockingham and up 2lb for her second in the Scurry last time; big chance on current form.
2nd (6) Torivega
4David EganMs Sheila LaveryJust a Cork maiden win last year to his tally, but has performed with credit in good handicaps this season; no luck in running behind Heavenly Power here last month; strong traveller and will appreciate coming off a strong pace here; should go close.
(8) Strike Red
6Billy GarrittyRichard FaheyLanded the Scurry here last year off a 1lb higher mark; came back to form when collared on the line in a big sprint handicap at York last month; big player here.

Cases can be made for most of these. Top-weight My Mate Alfie has been thoroughly consistent all year and should not be far away. The best of the British challengers could well be Strike Red after his return to form at York last month. Heavenly Power and Apache Outlaw both have each-way chances, as does the strong-travelling Torivega. The selection is GREEK FLOWER, runner-up in both the Rockingham and the Scurry, and holds the best overall form this season. [Justin O'Hanlon]

1st (8) Hanalia
3Shane FoleyJ P MurtaghBeat Bellezza in the Naas Oaks Trial (Elizabeth Jane fourth); debatable how well she stayed in the Irish Oaks and stayed on well when runner-up in a 1m1f Listed here two weeks ago; this trip might prove her optimum and she could have a significant part to play.

3Ryan MooreA P O'BrienJust held on to beat a subsequent Listed winner in the Hurry Harriet at Gowran; close third in the Snow Fairy over 1m1f here two weeks ago (Hanalia second); has more to offer but needs to find plenty to have a shout here.
(4) Rogue Millennium
5William BuickJoseph Patrick O'BrienGroup 2 winner for Tom Clover last season and probably her best effort was when second in the Matron Stakes; not quite at her best this season, but was a decent third in the Falmouth at Newmarket and when third in a 1m Deauville Group 1; respected.

3Oisin MurphyNoel MeadeFailed to stay in both the Epsom and Curragh Oaks; travelled well but failed to pick up adequately when third in the Royal Whip over C&D last month; has a bold showing at the highest level in her and could be a factor here; tried in cheekpieces.
(1) American Sonja
4Dylan Browne McMonagleJoseph Patrick O'BrienConsistent performer has stepped up in class this season, putting up a career best when touched off in a Group 1 at Deauville last month; possibly the best of the O'Brien quartet and has a leading chance.
(7) Elizabeth Jane
3Chris HayesD K WeldProbably needed the run behind Hanalia in the Naas Oaks Trial; stepped up on that when a staying fourth in the Irish Oaks; seems to be coming to the boil nicely and could be a factor here.
3rd (9) Purple Lily
3W J LeeP TwomeyStarted off the season well, especially when putting it up to subsequent Oaks winner Ezeliya in the Salsabil Stakes; did not quite get home when third in the Irish Oaks last time; this trip could be the perfect one for her and she looks the one to beat.

Joseph O'Brien is mob-handed here and cases can be made for all, with recent Deauville second American Sonja possibly the best of them. Elizabeth Jane is unexposed and looks capable of improving enough to have a say, as does Hanalia over this trip. The one to beat is PURPLE LILY(nap), who just ran out of steam in the Irish Oaks and should take plenty of stopping over this trip. [Justin O'Hanlon]

2Dylan Browne McMonagleOllie SangsterNailed late by Fairy Godmother at Ascot and has franked that form since by winning an Ascot Group 3 and impressively winning the Group 2 Prix Du Calvados at Deauville; could not be coming here in better form.

2Wayne LordanA P O'BrienJust held off Red Letter in a hot maiden here in June; stepped up when a decisive winner of the Group 3 Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket; talented filly and no surprise if she went close here.
4th (4) Red Letter
2Colin KeaneG M LyonsJust touched off by Lake Victoria in a C&D maiden in June; followed up on that when bolting up in a similar maiden a few weeks later; stable not short of talented fillies and this one is probably high up there; big player.
5th (1) Bedtime Story
2Ryan MooreA P O'BrienUnbeaten in four starts; brilliant winner of the Chesham Stakes in June; not as visually impressive twice since in two victories over Exactly, her victory in the Debutante last month being quite laboured; sets the standard but her latest win did display vulnerabilities and would make a defeat here less surprising.

Bedtime Story sets the standard on her Chesham win but the manner of her victory over Exactly in the Debutante last month suggests she could be vulnerable. Simmering has similar credentials but the manner of her win at Deauville suggests she is improving if anything. Lake Victoria impressed at Newmarket last month, but she might not be able to frank earlier Curragh form with the potentially top-class RED LETTER, who followed that narrow defeat with an impressive maiden success here and could really be anything. 6Ronan WhelanAdrian McGuinnessA Group 3 scorer at 5f and 6f during an excellent 2023 campaign; Group 3 win over 6f at the Curragh last September from Big Gossey was on soft ; unplaced in a 5f Group 3 at Longchamp in May and absent since; has a bit to find and unlikely to get enough rain to bring him into contention.
(1) Big Gossey
7Robert WheartyCharles O'BrienSix of his eight career wins have come here, including twice in the Bold Lad Handicap and in the Scurry in July; has falen just short at stakes level, although not by much, but will need plenty of these to underperform if he is to get involved.
(5) Go Bears Go
5Dylan Browne McMonagleDavid LoughnaneGood sprinter at two and three for David Loughnane, including the Railway Stakes and the Phoenix Sprint here; returned to his old trainer after an unsuccesful stint in America; midfield in a Group 3 at Deauville last month; hard to know what he is capable of now and probably best watched.
3rd (14) Makarova
5Tom MarquandEd WalkerGroup 3 winner on soft at Sandown; well held by Bradsell and Believing in the Nunthorpe and unlikely to turn those tables.
(16) Vadream
6Jamie SpencerCharlie FellowesFour-time winner; respectable efforts in good company this year but produced a career best when a close fourth in last week's Sprint Cup; could find this stiff five to his liking and certainly respected.

6W J LeeK J CondonTerrific servant to his connections; enjoyed his finest hour when taking advantage of ease in the ground when winning this last year; won a Listed at Naas on his reappearance but has found the better ground against him last twice although he was far from disgraced at Haydock last week; others might just prove quicker than him on this good ground.
(9) Bucanero Fuerte
3David EganAdrian MurrayGroup 1 winner last year and started off the season by beating Givemethebeatboys in a Group 3 at Naas in May; unable to sustain his challenge after four months off in the Sprint Cup at Haydock last week; could do better here but the drop back to 5f unlikely to suit.
2nd (13) Believing
4Ryan MooreGeorge BougheyHas improved into a Grade 1 performer this season; won the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes here before narrow defeats in a Goodwood Group 2 and to Bradsell in the Nunthorpe; should go close here.
1st (2) Bradsell
4Hollie DoyleArchie WatsonStaking his claim as the leading sprinter this season by winning both starts in a Deauville Listed and when accounting for Believing in the Nunthorpe at York; clearly the one to beat here.

She's Quality looks to be really improving into a quality sprinter and Matilda Picotte could be interesting if she goes hard from the start, but this looks for export. Unbeaten this season, Bradsell is vying for top sprinter honours, but he might not confirm Nunthorpe placings with BELIEVING, a Group 2 winner here in July and one that might well be improving at a faster rate than the likely favourite. 2nd (3) Henri Matisse
2Ryan MooreA P O'BrienMade a winning debut over 6f here in May; stepped up considerably when a surprise winner of the 6f Railway Stakes here in late June (Moore on fourth-placed Tunbridge Wells); underlined his progressive status when beating three rivals (including two who reoppose) in the Futurity Stakes over C&D

A potentially fascinating match between the Coolmore and Godolphin runners. Charlie Appleby has won three of the last six editions of this race and has a strong challenger in the Vintage Stakes winner Aomori City. However, Aidan O'Brien can prevail with the unbeaten Railway Stakes and Futurity Stakes winner HENRI MATISSE. Seagulls Eleven may run into a place. [Alan Sweetman]

In regaining the Gold Cup at Ascot, KYPRIOS confirmed his status as an outstanding stayer. His subsequent Goodwood triumph was highly impressive and he can add to his 2022 victory in this event. Giavellotto won Newmarket's Princess Of Wales's Stakes in fine style under a penalty and can confirm the form of his Yorkshire Cup win with Vauban, the Lonsdale Cup winner but well held by Kyprios on Royal Ascot form. 2Ryan MooreA P O'BrienThird in maidens at Galway and Naas; one of the lesser lights of the stable's juveniles; however, an official rating of 86 potentially puts him in the mix; addition of cheekpieces may help his cause
1st (10) Spirit d'Or
2Ronan WhelanGavin HernonWas running for the third time when winning a 5f maiden at Moulins just under three weeks ago; official rating of 93 is derived from her fourth placing in a 6f Listed race at Deauville in which the Irish-trained Shamrock Breeze was second and the Queen Mary third Maw Lam filled the same position again; leading contender on that evidence.
(12) Canto Della Terra
2Gavin RyanDonnacha Aidan O'BrienRan green but shaped well when second in a 6f maiden at Fairyhouse on her only start for Ado McGuinness; beaten by a 33-1 shot when odds-on in a 7f maiden at Gowran on first outing for Donnacha O'Brien; open to improvement but others look more likely.
(2) No Such Thing
2Colin KeaneG M LyonsArguably the most promising maiden in the field judged on debut second in a 21-runner maiden over 6f here in June; form has been franked by the winner Orchidaceae and third-placed Iowntheball; gelded since debut.

Gavin Hernon's raider SPIRIT D'OR has the merit of having run well in a Listed race, arguably giving her the best credentials in a race in which most of the main Irish hopes are rated in the 80s. The unexposed No Such Thing, second on his only start, could be the pick of the home team. Right And True may improve in first-time cheekpieces and Gloriously Glam makes some appeal on her progressive nursery form. Canto Della Terra is another possibility. [Alan Sweetman]

3James RyanG M LyonsWon a soft ground Tipperary maiden over an extended 1m4f on his fourth outing; creditable third over a similar trip at the Galway festival; this trip may be a little short of his best and he is 4lb out of the handicap; good 3lb claimer aboard

6Patrick McGettiganJ P MurtaghGroup 3 winner over C&D last season, beating the talented Al Riffa; highly tried in Pattern races this season, and now back in handicap company for the first time since a Cork win early last season off a 9lb lower mark; experienced recruit from the pony-race ranks claims a useful 10lb.

4Seamie HeffernanGerard KeaneWell-backed when returning to form with a third behind Longbourn over 1m at Leopardstown in July; again favourite when second at the Galway festival; mid-division in the Irish Cambridgeshire; satisfactory fourth at Galway on Tuesday, blinkered for the first time

5Gavin RyanThomas GibneyBoth wins have come at this trip including the Ladies Derby at this venue last year off 18lb lower than her present mark; sights lowered now since four of her last five races have been at Listed level; possibly a little too high in the ratings

5Wesley JoyceJohn James FeaneWon 1m course handicap last October off 64 before narrowly denied a follow-up in a premier handicap here in November; won a premier handicap over 7f here in June; up in trip now after third over 1m here eight weeks ago; 5lb out of the handicap, useful 5lb claimed.

8Dylan Browne McMonagleRoss O'SullivanGenerally reliable sort gained his third win when landing a 1m1f handicap at Leopardstown in July, with Genuine Article and Slieve Binnian among his victims; seemed a little below his best when beaten in a four-runner conditions races at Tipperary last time.
4th (9) Soaring Monarch
7Luke McAteerAlan McIntyreFour-time winner; did not get the best of runs when third in a 1m4f premier handicap at Galway; had no luck in running in the Irish Cambridgeshire; this trip will suit better and he could go well at a decent price.

6Colin KeaneEmmet MullinsCourse bumper winner in 2022 switched to the Flat last year and won a Clonmel maiden; was a fine third in Colm Quinn BMW Mile at Galway after a low-key start to the season at Leopardstown; of obvious interest on account of trainer/rider combination.
3rd (3) Wigmore Street
4Ryan MooreJoseph Patrick O'BrienWinner in Britain for the Crisfords; ran respectably in a Naas handicap in May before disappointing since in a Tipperary conditions race; profited from a vintage Ryan Moore ride when coming from last to first in the 1m Irish Cambridgeshire; up 7lb but could go close if he stays this far.
10th (4) Take Heart
4W J LeeJ P MurtaghRunner-up at Cork over this trip in April; always prominent when close fourth over 1m4f at the same venue next time; eighth of 20 behind Enfjaar in the John Smith's Cup at York in July before a career-best in overcoming a wide draw to beating Enfjaar in the Chesterfield Cup at Goodwood; respected off 4lb higher.

This longer trip may help to bring out the best in THIS SONGISFORYOU, third in the valuable Mile Handicap at the Galway festival. Take Heart, winner of Goodwood's Chesterfield Cup, and Wigmore Street, a dramatic Irish Cambridgeshire winner, can remain competitive off a revised mark. Soaring Monarch may provide each-way value in a hot contest. [Alan Sweetman]
