3rd (5) Letsbeatsepsis
2Rhys ClutterbuckGary & Josh MooreBy Expert Eye; first foal; dam 7f turf/1m AW winner (RPR 57), half-sister to winners Tariq (7f Group 2) and Tariq Too (useful 6.5f/7f); this should be a warm race for his debut.
(6) Noble Guest
2Tom QueallyGeorge Margarson55,000gns foal, 100,000gns yearling; tenth foal; Mohaather half-brother to seven winners, including Hors De Combat (7f/1m; RPR 113), Stroll Patrol (6f including 2yo; 104) and Yourtimeisnow (6f 2yo including Group 3; 102); dam maiden half-sister to US 1m1f Grade 1 winner Stroll; long time since the yard's last 2yo winner.
(3) Echalar
2Hollie DoyleJane Chapple-Hyam150,000gns foal, 310,000gns yearling; fourth foal; Too Darn Hot half-brother to winners Youth Spirit (7f 2yo/1m4f Group 3; RPR 112), Canberra Legend (1m/1m1f; 109) and Tarbaan (1m-1m2f; 89); dam unraced half-sister to 6f 2yo Group 2 winner Blaine; Group 2 Gimcrack entry who needs a close look.
2nd (2) Back In Black
2Daniel MuscuttJames Fanshawe130,000gns yearling by Dark Angel; 12-1, pretty useful form and plentiful promise when second of six from off the pace in novice at Yarmouth (6f, good to soft) in May; has Group 2 Gimcrack entry; one to note.
(4) Fire Flame
2James DoyleRoger VarianBy Wootton Bassett; second foal; dam 6f 2yo winner (RPR 100), half-sister to winners Antiphon (5f/6f) and Lauderdale (useful 1m-10.5f including 2yo), out of 1m4f Listed-winning sister to 12.5f Listed winner; from a powerful yard and needs a market check for confidence behind him.
1st (7) Our Terms
2Ryan MooreRichard HannonWootton Bassett half-brother to six winners, notably Star Terms (7f-1m4f including 2yo/Listed); dam 5f/6f 2yo winner, including of Royal Ascot Group 2; 16-1, came from the back when fourth of 13 in maiden at Newmarket (7f, good) 15 days ago; trainer has won six of the last ten runnings of this race, five times with newcomers before his 2021 winner who made his debut in the same race (runner-up) as this year's representative.
4th (1) Al Misbar
2William BuickCharlie Appleby1,500,000gns yearling; seventh foal; Blue Point half-brother to winners Battaash (5f including 2yo/four Group 1s; RPR 129) and The Antarctic (5f/6f including 2yo/Group 3; 111); dam sprint maiden (41), half-sister to 7f 2yo Group 2 winner Etlaala and to dam of 6f Group 2 winner Tasleet; newcomer with eyecatching credentials on paper.

Two runs are all the form there is to go on but BACK IN BLACK shaped particularly well when second at Yarmouth and Our Terms showed conspicuous promise at Newmarket. The latter also represents Richard Hannon, who has tasted so much success in this race. The selection has a Group 2 Gimcrack entry for next month, as does the newcomer Echalar, who needs respect for Jane Chapple-Hyam, while Battaash's 1,500,000-guinea half-brother Al Misbar clearly needs a close look and Fire Flame represents the powerful Roger Varian stable.[Richard Austen]

2nd (3) Betty Clover
2Georgia DobieEve Johnson HoughtonConfined to 5f thus far; won two of her first three races but limitations seemingly exposed in the Queen Mary here, for all that she wasn't favoured by her track position; should stay 6f but has an air of vulnerability about her.
(1) Alice Fairfax
2William BuickKevin RyanPedigree a mix of speed and stamina; did a professional job in narrowly winning a 6f novice at Thirsk (good to soft) but the runner-up is now 0-5 and Definitive on her debut made easier work of beating that same horse; needs to step up.
(2) Aviation Time
2James DoyleRichard HughesKept to 5f since her successful debut at 6f; unlucky in the Hilary Needler and then held her own against the boys when third in the Windsor Castle here last month (good to firm); it could be that soft ground didn't suit her in a French Listed race three weeks ago; brings quality form at her best and plenty of experience.
(4) Definitive
2Tom MarquandClive Cox130,000gns yearling; raced on the favoured side when overcoming trouble in running to make a successful start at Haydock (6f, good); it's hard to go wild about the form with the second well held since and the third now 0-5, but it's hard to gauge how good this filly might be.
4th (6) Mandurah
2Harry DaviesSimon & Ed CrisfordTravelled with purpose before going clear at Newmarket (6f, good to firm; 5-1) and held on cosily by a half length after showing inexperience in front; disappointing to see the runner-up well held next time (third also behind Alice Fairfax the run before) but this Kingman filly looks decidedly useful.
3rd (9) Tales Of The Heart
2Rossa RyanRalph BeckettAll runs at 6f; debut winner on the AW; ridden positively when second in a Newmarket Listed race and perhaps not seen to best effect under more patient tactics in a Group 2 there at the July festival, won by a filly who was behind her the time before; a repeat of that penultimate run would see her right in the mix.
(5) Handcuffed
2Oisin MurphyAndrew BaldingHalf-sister to Tactical, a smart 2yo for the same connections; wasn't overly pressed to justify market confidence at Newbury (6f, good to firm; 13-8) where Andrew Balding often introduces his better 2yos; the two placed horses have come up short since but she's promising.
1st (8) Simmering
2Ryan MooreOllie SangsterFailed to justify favouritism on York debut (6f, good to soft) but fulfilled the high promise of that effort (strong form) when beating all bar the hugely exciting Fairy Godmother in the Group 3 Albany at Royal Ascot (6f, good to firm); flattered to finish within a length of the winner who did well to win at all, but the third and fourth went on to be close up in a Group 2 at the July festival; sets the standard.

Although the only maiden in the field, SIMMERING has the most persuasive form credentials on the strength of her second in the Albany here. There's major potential in the debut winners Definitive, Handcuffed and Mandurah, but Tales Of The Heart could prove the most troublesome rival. Her Listed second at Newmarket now reads very well and the switch to patient tactics backfired at the July festival.[Alistair Jones]

(2) Julia Augusta
5Silvestre De SousaDavid O'MearaNew yard for last three starts; first two were good, making most on first occasion and close up long way next time when she finished under 1l behind Doom in C&D Group 2 at the Royal meeting; ran poorly on Chelmsford AW (7f) on latest outing and even her best form requires marked improvement.
3rd (3) Naomi Lapaglia
4Rossa RyanRichard SpencerNovice and handicap winner who ended last season with third in a French Listed race (7f) and began this season with fourth in another (1m); the latter was improved form but she needs to build on that substantially.
(5) Thornbrook
4Ryan MooreJoseph Patrick O'BrienUnraced on officially firmer than good; French 1m Listed winner last July, prior to career-best form when close third in this race; wore cheekpieces both starts this season and looked on her way back to her best when fourth in 7f Group 3 at Leopardstown latest; place claims.
2nd (1) Doom
4Tom MarquandWilliam HaggasEnded last season with a Listed win (7f, very soft) in France; close third in Group 3 at the Curragh (7f, soft) on reappearance before hitting a new high with her third of 14 in C&D Group 2 at Royal Ascot (good to firm); needs better still to win this but has each-way claims.
(4) Sirona
4Oisin MurphyDavid MenuisierAn improver performer with new yard this season, bang there in 7f Group 3s on first two outings and keeping on well when fifth of seven in Group 1 Falmouth over 1m at Newmarket; all those runs were on good ground but she ran well once last term on good to firm; slowly away on last two outings but those results give her a big shout.
4th (8) Soprano
3Billy LoughnaneGeorge BougheyRelished the step up to 1m in the Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot (good to firm) and won that 30-runner race with a late bid from the back; placed in Group/Listed races as 2yo and another third in Listed race at Sandown (1m, soft) on latest outing, but easily her best form (which would make her a leading player) was delivered with that win in a big-field handicap.
1st (7) Friendly Soul
3Kieran ShoemarkJohn & Thady GosdenTenacious winner of a maiden at Kempton (1m, AW) in December and Listed race at Newmarket (1m2f, good) in May, making most in the latter as the first two drew 12l clear; 8-11 for the Group 3 Musidora at York (1m2f, good; unraced on firmer) just ten days later but held up and hung right, finishing last of seven; on a recovery mission but the Newmarket win demands respect.
(6) Devoted Queen
3William BuickCharlie ApplebyUnbeaten after three starts; bagged Listed honours at York (1m, good; unraced on firmer) in May last time out, settling better in a first-time hood and gradually working her way to the front before going on by 2l; declared for Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot but withdrawn with self certificate; needs improvement but no shock if she proves equal to this task.

Devoted Queen's dam was a Group winner over 1m and her unbeaten daughter may well be heading to a similar standing. However, the year-older SIRONA has currently done more in form terms and the improved figure she registered in a supporting Group 1 role last time backed up the impression from previous starts this term that she would prove suited by the step back up to 1m. Third on the list is Doom, who closed well in a C&D Group 2 last time, ahead of last year's third Thornbrook, but it's also possible that Friendly Soul can bounce back from her Musidora flop.[Richard Austen]

(17) Riot
7Hollie DoyleDavid O'MearaCurrently in good form but incurs a penalty for his success in lower grade at Doncaster (7f) two starts ago; much more exposed than some of these rivals, including stablemate New Image, and faces a difficult task.
(6) Ropey Guest
7Tom QueallyGeorge MargarsonRegular participant in major handicaps; best effort this season when fifth in the Victoria Cup over C&D; however, he's thoroughly exposed and has a poor record (form figures 000) in this contest.
(18) Eminency
4Silvestre De SousaStuart WilliamsCampaigned mostly at 6f; ran respectably over 7f at Newmarket (good) most recently but was running out of steam towards the finish and may ideally need a drop back in distance; others preferred.
(2) Fivethousandtoone
6Oisin MurphyAndrew BaldingVery useful 6f performer, especially on AW; ran respectably in Newcastle Group 3 last time; has bits of 7f form but he'll be thoroughly tested in this hot handicap on a stiff track returned to turf.
(11) Dancing Magic
4Kieran ShoemarkRoger TealCapable of useful form, such as his second at Chester (7.5f) in May; however, still a maiden (0-14) and looks difficult to support with confidence in this competitive field, especially as he ran poorly last time.
1st (4) Northern Express
6Paul MulrennanMichael DodsSeasoned northern handicapper who ran well at York (1m) most recently; respectable fifth at Royal Ascot (7f) the time before and has finished fourth in this race for the last two years; should give his running once again, provided he takes to first-time cheekpieces.
(12) Summerghand
10Tom MarquandDavid O'MearaVeteran who has done all of his winning over 6f; respectable third to Aalto at Newmarket most recently but doesn't look the percentage call over this stiffer 7f in another warm event.
(7) Bless Him
10Jamie SpencerDavid SimcockIdeally suited by good/faster; went close (off 4lb higher) in this race two years ago, on the back of his Bunbury Cup win; close third in this year's Victoria Cup but needs to better his subsequent efforts.
(10) Divine Libra
4Christophe SoumillonCharles HillsHas some good 7f form this season, including close third to Carrytheone at Newmarket and respectable effort at Royal Ascot; however, only midfield in the Bunbury Cup most recently and needs to rebound.
(16) Hickory
6Saffie OsborneJames FanshaweWears reapplied visor, having failed to show his form in cheekpieces last time; consistent record under Saffie Osborne includes creditable efforts in this race (close second off 1lb lower) 12 months ago and here again in the 2024 Victoria Cup; has the ability to get involved.
(1) Make Me King
4James DoyleHamad Al JehaniVersatile ground-wise; has shown good form in cheekpieces the last twice, finishing eighth in the 7f handicap at Royal Ascot then scoring readily on Tapeta at Newcastle (career-best performance); 3lb penalty looks far from insurmountable; clear possibilities in the retained headgear.
(9) Billyjoh
4Rossa RyanMichael ApplebyOften a strong finisher over 6f; cracking effort in the 7f handicap at Royal Ascot (good to firm) most recently, beating all bar market leader English Oak who looks a Group performer in the making; unexposed at this distance and looks open to further progress; highly respected up just 2lb.
5th (5) Carrytheone
7Pat DobbsMichael BellCampaigned on good/firmer this term for new yard; got up in the final strides at Newmarket in May; did well to make the frame in major 7f handicaps at Royal Ascot and Newmarket since, having met significant traffic issues both times; likely has a big prize in him when the cards drop right.
4th (8) Metal Merchant
4David ProbertJack Channon7f winner as a 2yo but best known as a useful 1m performer; landed this year's Spring Cup at Newbury (good to soft) and ran respectably in the Royal Hunt Cup on penultimate start; others have less to prove over this trip at this level.
3rd (13) Fresh
7Billy LoughnaneJames FanshaweActs on any ground; on a 15-race losing sequence but he's attractively handicapped and has lots of Ascot form, including a narrow success (off 7lb higher) in this contest in 2022; ran encouragingly over 6f here two weeks ago; Billy Loughnane up for first time; fighting chance.
2nd (15) New Image
4Mark WinnDavid O'MearaHas form figures of 131413 this year for new stable, solid third in competitive field at York (7f, good to soft) most recently; ties in with Aalto on that effort; still has relatively low mileage and may not have reached his ceiling yet; one to consider.
(14) Aalto
4Luke MorrisIan WilliamsKnocking at the door prior to producing a career-best performance in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket (7f, good) two weeks ago, recording his first win since joining current connections; well treated under a small penalty (future mark 4lb higher) and open to further improvement; major contender.
(3) Orazio
5William BuickCharles HillsActs on soft and good to firm; has raced exclusively at 6f; somewhat frustrating but did well to finish a close third in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot most recently, rattling home having come from a difficult position and been forced to switch; interesting with this new trip well worth exploring.

Buckingham Palace runner-up BILLYJOH (nap) is taken to show further progress and go one better. He bumped into a smart rival in that Royal Ascot event and remains unexposed over 7f, so comes to the International with a big chance. Orazio, who finished strongly in the Wokingham, is second choice ahead of Bunbury Cup winner Aalto and the steadily improving New Image. Unlucky horse Carrytheone is a hostage to fortune but looks a huge player provided the cards drop right, while a few others also have clear possibilities.[Steve Boow]

(4) Hans Andersen
4Sean LeveyA P O'BrienYet to win above Group 3 level; seemingly used as a pacemaker for higher-profile stablemates in Group 1 races of late and again looks poised to adopt that role; bottom of this pack on ratings and likely to be swallowed up in the latter stages.
1st (3) Goliath
4Christophe SoumillonF-H GraffardActs on any ground; steadily progressive French gelding who is a Group 3 winner on home soil; ran well in the Hardwicke (Group 2) over C&D most recently, though proved no match for the winner; faces a considerably stiffer assignment upped further in grade.
(2) Dubai Honour
6Tom MarquandWilliam HaggasGlobetrotting middle-distance performer who is a Group 1 winner in Australia and France, most recently in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud (good to soft) last month; likely set for a supporting role in this field, being 0-5 (form figures 24646) at the top level on British soil.
4th (9) Sunway
3James DoyleDavid MenuisierSole 3yo in the field; Group 1 winner in France at two; strong-finishing second in the Irish Derby (good) upped to 1m4f most recently, taking his form to a new level; may well have more to offer at this trip and he's bred for this scenario, being a brother to Ascot Group 1 (Champion Stakes) scorer Sealiway; interesting.
(5) Luxembourg
5Wayne LordanA P O'BrienGroup 1 winner in each of his four seasons of racing, most recently in the Coronation Cup at Epsom (good to soft) where he received an astute front-running ride to record a first success over 1m4f; tactically versatile but couldn't quite sustain his effort in this contest last year (finished 8l fourth); yard's number one is Auguste Rodin.
(6) Middle Earth
4Oisin MurphyJohn & Thady GosdenWell held in soft-ground St Leger; otherwise a largely progressive sort at up to 1m6f; has dropped back to 1m4f this season, getting up on the line at Newbury (Group 3) then respectable third at Royal Ascot (Group 2) where a stronger pace would have suited; remains of interest, with this race likely to pan out favourably.
2nd (8) Bluestocking
4Rossa RyanRalph BeckettConsistent in defeat last term; has regained the winning thread and looked better than ever this season, routing her opponents in Group 2 at York (good) then following up in Group 1 at the Curragh (yielding to soft), both over 1m2f; should be as effective back at 1m4f; cheekpieces (worn twice, including for reappearance win) are now reapplied; smart filly who could well prove capable of further improvement in her current form; big player.
3rd (7) Rebel's Romance
6William BuickCharlie ApplebyHighly productive globetrotter who landed Group 1 prizes over 1m4f at Meydan and Sha Tin the last twice, taking record at the top level to 5-7 and overall strike-rate to 13-19; his impressive stats are augmented by an unbeaten record (5-5) in British races, none above Group 3 but he brings a high rating to this assignment; respected.
(1) Auguste Rodin
4Ryan MooreA P O'BrienHas flopped badly on three occasions in his career, including in this race 12 months ago; otherwise a high-class performer who has won several top middle-distance prizes, all on good/firmer, including the 2023 Derby and most recently the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot; leading player provided he avoids one of his bad days.

Auguste Rodin and Rebel's Romance are the titans in this field but they are not entirely bombproof, as the former is known for throwing in the odd stinker and the latter is having his first attempt in a British Group 1. They command major respect in terms of ability but there are plausible alternatives from a punting perspective. BLUESTOCKING, who is blossoming this season, gets the vote ahead of interesting 3yo Sunway (second choice) and likely strong finisher Middle Earth.[Steve Boow]

2Rossa RyanDr Richard Newland & Jamie InsoleHas 7f Group 2 entry at Goodwood next week; promise at Lingfield (6f) in May and much improved when winning a 12-runner maiden at Sandown (7f, again good to firm) in June; led over 1f out and asserted in clearcut style for that win but this demands a fair bit better.
4th (2) Brian
2Liam KenirySylvester KirkProgressive with his minor honours on first three starts, third of 15 behind a runaway winner in the Listed Chesham at Royal Ascot (7f, good to firm); consequently 10-11 and easy winner of a novice at Newbury (6f, good to soft) 16 days ago; better is needed in this company, though.
1st (1) Al Qudra
2William BuickCharlie ApplebyIrish Group 1 National Stakes entry (7f); odds-on winner of Lingfield AW novice and close up in his other three races, fifth of 22 in Group 2 Coventry at Royal Ascot (6f, good to firm) latest; that sets the standard and he shapes as if he will stay; trainer won three of last five renewals of this.
2nd (5) New Century
2Oisin MurphyAndrew BaldingShowed promise at Lingfield (6f, AW) on debut and knuckled down very well to assert in six-runner novice at Doncaster (7f, good to firm) four weeks ago; the third (a Gosden newcomer) was highly impressive at Newmarket two weeks later; should be a serious player at this level.
3rd (3) Chancellor
2Robert HavlinJohn & Thady GosdenBy Kingman out of the 1m2f Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf winner Queen's Trust (also 2yo 7f winner); 16-5 favourite, came from last to first in 11-runner maiden at Doncaster (6f, good to soft) 16 days ago and he put nearly 5l between himself and the rest in the final 1f despite looking green; that was the debut of a most exciting prospect.

Al Qudra (second choice) has plenty of experience and finished on the heels of the principals in the Coventry at Royal Ascot, while New Century impressed with the form and manner of his 7f novice win at Doncaster. However, CHANCELLOR left a striking impression with the way he overcame his all-too-evident inexperience first time out at Doncaster. The well-bred Gosden colt should be a big improver.[Richard Austen]

(10) Bennetot
5Mark WinnDavid O'MearaHe's taken a while to find his feet for his new stable but his last two runs have been more encouraging, notably when keeping on for fourth at Ripon last week (1m, good to soft); should be winning soon but this is a step up in class.

7Saffie OsborneJamie OsborneActs on any going; multiple winner in Germany/Italy; mixed RPRs for new yard this year but nearly won a Group 3 at Meydan in February; travelled well in the Royal Hunt Cup over C&D last time but his effort petered out in the final furlong; this doesn't look quite so demanding and he's a contender despite conceding chunks of weight all round.
(3) Baradar
6David EganGeorge BougheySmart handicapper on his day and he won the big 7f handicap on this card 12 months ago off a 2lb lower mark; has not really got going this season and although he stays 1m, there may be others finishing off their race with more purposes; best form on good or slower.
(4) Silver Sword
4Rhys ClutterbuckDylan CunhaFlourished in 2023, notably with his win in a 1m handicap at York's Ebor meeting; 2024 is proving more challenging but he's back down the weights now and cheekpieces could give him a lift.
4th (7) Tempus
8Hollie DoyleArchie WatsonWon two Group 3 races in 2022; has tumbled down the weights and he returned to some form with a close second behind Sterling Knight at Newmarket 16 days ago (1m, good to soft); 2lb rise in a stronger race could find him out.
(8) Sterling Knight
5Oisin MurphyEd DunlopMost of career has been spent sprinting but he was progressing over 7f and took his form to the next level when winning from Tempus at Newmarket 16 days ago on his first crack at 1m; 3lb higher in a deeper race but Oisin Murphy retains the ride and this 5yo may have more to offer as a miler.
(12) Obelix
4Jamie SpencerJulie CamachoTwo solid efforts since undergoing wind surgery in May; had a few traffic issues at Redcar last time without looking an unlucky loser; hood is added; 2lb out of the weights but not ruled out.
(11) Great Blasket
4Billy LoughnaneDr Richard Newland & Jamie InsoleHe's flourished for his new stable, winning five handicaps at around 1m since December; only sixth of 15 at Sandown six weeks ago (1m, good to soft) when he couldn't really get a clean shot at it and also hung right for pressure; 2lb out of the handicap and minor money is perhaps his best hope.
(6) Bopedro
8Rossa RyanDavid O'MearaHold-up handicapper who is now 6lb lower than when placed in last season's Cambridgeshire; ran well for third at York's Dante meeting and he's ready to win but this isn't guaranteed to be run to suit; withdrawn at Royal Ascot having got upset in the stalls.
(9) Tolstoy
5William BuickBrian EllisonRevived by Brian Ellison this summer, winning two 7f handicaps in two days at York last month and completing his hat-trick in good style two weeks ago; 5lb higher on quicker ground but he still has handicapping scope and he looks worth a crack at 1m; William Buick replaces an inexperienced apprentice; should go well.
1st (5) Elnajmm
4Tom MarquandWilliam HaggasBeaten favourite on his first three starts before making quite heavy weather of winning a three-runner maiden at Lingfield last August (1m1f, good to firm); gelded soon afterwards and he looked more professional when easily seeing off his 11 rivals in a Class 2 handicap at Newcastle last month (1m); hit with a 10lb rise for that but it's quite possible there's a fair bit more in the tank; strong claims.

Tolstoy has been revived by the move to Brian Ellison and his strength at the finish in his 7f wins offers hope of even better at 1m. He's greatly respected, while Sterling Knight could have more to come at this trip and Sean has sufficient ability to play a leading role despite his big weight. ELNAJMM is a particularly appealing option, though, with his Newcastle win last month strongly suggesting he was a more straightforward character on the back of a gelding operation. While the handicapper didn't miss that win, he could still be well treated up 10lb.[Paul Smith]

6Alex JaryNigel TinklerProduced late to win a 5f Class 3 at Redcar last month but he couldn't back it up at York a fortnight ago; in deeper here and others boast stronger claims.
(12) Harry Brown
4Jimmy QuinnPeter CrateHasn't won as often as one of his ability probably should but he's on a dangerous mark starting out for a new yard (sold for 32,000gns a fortnight ago); this looks a hot race in which to try to break his turf duck.
(13) Call Me Ginger
8Amie WaughJim GoldieWon this race in 2022 and bagged another good C&D handicap last September; now 11lb lower than for the latest win but that is a result of heavy defeats on his last seven starts (including three this year); type to come good again but he's asked a stiff question in today's field.
(2) Spangled Mac
5Billy LoughnaneGeorge BougheyProgressive in 2022 and he ended 2023 with a bang, coming from a poor position to win a 5f handicap at Newcastle in November; looked rusty at Hamilton on recent return to action and he should be sharper with that behind him; needs everything to drop perfectly back at 5f but he's talented.
(4) Bond Chairman
5Paul MulrennanBryan SmartAbsent since October but that isn't necessarily a negative given he's won first time out in two of his three seasons of racing (close fourth at Royal Ascot on return in 2022); third and fourth in the last two runnings of this and has a much lower mark this time around; one to be interested in.
(5) Pepsi Cat
5Harry DaviesSteph HollinsheadRated only 60 (BHA) this time last year and her subsequent progress has been another feather in her trainer's cap; creditable effort in Listed race five weeks ago and although she'll need another career best, it's not out of the question.
4th (8) Existent
6Rossa RyanStuart WilliamsOperating off a reduced mark now and his reappearance at Sandown was most encouraging; met some trouble in running over C&D a fortnight ago but not as much as Albasheer and still finished 3l behind that rival; no excuses when fourth at Yarmouth on Thursday.
(11) Brave Nation
4Oisin MurphyMichael BellForm appeared to dip in a C&D handicap two weeks ago but he raced away from the main action from his low draw and that isn't a run to judge him too harshly on; the faster they go early the better it will be for him.
(6) Woolhampton
4Oliver SearleRod MillmanGood record over C&D and her latest sixth (Albasheer second) here was another solid effort; each-way shout in a hot race.
(9) Two Tribes
3William BuickRichard SpencerProgressive as 2yo and ran a fine race on his seasonal debut (first run after being gelded) when second of 11 at Newmarket in May (6f, good); that form is extremely strong and although he has been beaten twice since, he ran well at Newmarket 16 days ago; behind Woodhay Wonder here at the Royal meeting in between those Newmarket efforts and others are preferred at 5f.
1st (1) Albasheer
6Hollie DoyleArchie WatsonFinished with a flourish having run into traffic issues galore in a C&D handicap two weeks ago; raised only 1lb and still looks extremely well handicapped on turf; needs luck in running but form claims are compelling.
3rd (3) Woodhay Wonder
3Tom MarquandTom WardTough and straightforward filly who has won five of her eight starts; showed she could cope with 5f when a close fourth in the big 3yo handicap at the Royal meeting and another big run looks on the cards.

Albasheer was an unlucky loser over C&D two weeks ago and he's undeniably well handicapped on grass, albeit that he can be a hostage to fortune. He should go well, while Woodhay Wonder and Brave Nation also have plenty to recommend them. That said, the two against the field are Bond Chairman, who has an excellent record fresh, resumes on a good mark and is fully effective over C&D, and PEPSI CAT. The selection has made giant strides in the last 12 months and although this is a stiffer test of her credentials, the prospect of a strongly run race offers hope of another step forward.[Paul Smith]
