14:15 Beverley Stakes (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

As a son of Mehmas, EAST TYRONE should enjoy quick ground and he looks the one to beat if building upon a highly encouraging debut effort when second at Doncaster. Kevin Ryan's colt is narrowly preferred to Ripon scorer Assertively, who has a 7lb penalty to overcome for that determined success, while Rajeteriat is another open to improvement after a promising first-time-out performance at Southwell.

ASSERTIVELY created a good impression on winning debut at Ripon and may well be up to defying his penalty. East Tyrone and Rajeteriat have a similar chance in receipt of weight after their promising debuts and head up the dangers.

The choice is ASSERTIVELY despite a 7lb penalty for his narrow Ripon debut success and likely different ground conditions.

(5) Big Bee Hive 8/1, Hurdles winner in Ireland and perfect start over fences when scoring at Sedgefield (19.3f, heavy) in February. Jumping wasn't so slick when beaten favourite upped to 21f at the same course next time but an even bigger concern here is the drying ground.

(7) Benny Silver 9/2, Remains a maiden following 10 starts overall but has finished second or third on 8 occasions, including on each of his 3 starts at up to 21f in this sphere. This step back up in trip looks a good move (tapped for toe when third over 2m at Hereford when last seen in January) and he's a key player.

14:30 Southwell Handicap Chase (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero have their string in fine fettle at present and HAPPY DU MESNIL gets the vote to back up last week's C&D victory. A sounder surface appeared to bring about the improvement required and it wouldn't be a surprise if the seven-year-old had a bit more to offer over the larger obstacles. Benny Silver has shown a consistent level of form in three chase starts and has to enter calculations along with Big Bee Hive.

The obvious starting point is HAPPY DU MESNIL, who jumped with greater accuracy than in his three previous chase starts when scoring over C&D last week. He is taken to follow up under a penalty, most likely at thge chief expense of Benny Silver. It'll be interesting to see how Tellmesomethingood shapes up in the betting ahead of this chase debut, while Big Bee Hive has decent enough form claims but the drying ground is a worry where he is concerned.

The selection is BENNY SILVER who returns after a break with his stable in fine form. The penalised Happy Du Mesnil is next best.

14:45 Beverley Seller (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A maiden after nine starts, this looks as good an opportunity as any for LOCHABER to get off the mark, following a strong runner-up effort over 6f in a Doncaster handicap. Dropping back in trip should not inconvenience him and it may be Better who gives him the most to think about on his first run for the Paul Midgley stable. Vanity Pays has taken her time to settle on these shores, but her most recent effort at Pontefract gave hope that there could be improvement forthcoming.

LOCHABER looked well suited reverting back to leading when runner-up behind a thriving sort at Doncaster (6f) recently, and with the return to the minimum trip holding no fears, he looks a big player down in grade with the cheekpieces retained. Vanity Pays holds good claims on these terms if bouncing back down in class, with Better, on debut for Paul Midgley, also entering calculations.

Preference is for LOCHABER who didn't do much wrong when narrowly beaten in a Doncaster handicap (first two clear) 12 days ago.

15:00 Southwell Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

JESSIE LIGHTFOOT scored off a 4lb lower mark at Taunton on her penultimate start and has similar conditions in her favour in her attempt to get back to winning ways. Glengeever was last seen taking a match contest at Exeter in October and a subsequent wind operation might aid his cause further. Others for the shortlist include Noche Negra and Coniston Clouds.

CONISTON CLOUDS showed no ill effects of a heavy fall when finishing a good third over fences at Ayr (20.5f) in March and, still unexposed in this sphere/including at this longer trip, he earns the vote to confirm himself on a handy mark. Bbold ran a solid race when third at Taunton last time and he's a danger eased back down in trip. Love Actually and chase-debutant Jeteye are others to consider.

After a promising start to his chasing career at about 2m4f last season, CONISTON CLOUDS could have untapped potential over 3m.

15:15 Beverley Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A determined winner over C&D last August to form the second leg of a hat-trick, EMERALDS PRIDE is taken to begin this season the way she ended the last. A mark of 68 still looks manageable and on ground that should suit, she may have too much for Maharajas Express and Thankuappreciate, who was something of an eyecatcher at Thirsk when slowly away before running on late for fourth.

DIGITAL produced his best effort to date for Ruth Carr from his sliding mark when third at Wetherby 16 days ago and from a handy draw, he could be worth chancing to build on that returned to the minimum trip. Ghathanfar (engaged to run at Catterick on Monday) lurks on a very handy mark and is feared. Burj Malinka and Emeralds Pride complete the shortlist.

Preference is for DIGITAL who ran his best race since joining Ruth Carr at Wetherby last time. He could take another step forward.

15:30 Southwell NH Flat Race (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SLIDE RULE represents a stable that does well in bumpers and the five-year-old, who is related to some useful performers, makes plenty of appeal on paper. Moorsbrook defied her 250/1 odds when third in a Cheltenham bumper last month and a repeat of that effort would see her enter the reckoning. Yakaleo may benefit from the application of a hood having taken a step backwards after his close-up debut third.

MOORSBROOK left her debut form well behind when third in a better race than this at Cheltenham last time and she's capable of opening her account if in the same form. Yakaleo is a threat and Slide Rule is the best of the newcomers on paper.

Preference is for MOORSBROOK, who displayed huge improvement when a commendable third at massive odds at Cheltenham last month.

15:45 Beverley Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SOUND REASON made a promising enough start for David O'Meara when fourth at Pontefract, shaping as if he would benefit from the outing. The six-year-old arrives 4lb lower than his last victory, which came over C&D, so it wouldn't be a major surprise if he reversed last month's form with Herakles, who finished one place ahead and had fitness on his side. Bella Kopella could have been inconvenienced by soft ground at Doncaster and is worth another chance, while Fortunate Star defied a slow start to win at Catterick, although a 5lb rise makes life tougher.

A winner from a 4 lb higher mark over C&D last summer, SOUND REASON ought to be sharper for his reappearance/yard debut effort at Pontefract 3 weeks ago and with the headgear refitted, he could well be worth siding with to take a step forward. Catterick-scorer Fortunate Star and Haveagomecca are others to consider, along with Herakles.

This can go to SOUND REASON who is on a handy mark for new connections and is a dual C&D winner. Herakles can be next best.

16:00 Southwell NH Flat Race (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CYCLONIC showed marked improvement from her first to her second start when staying on well late in the piece for third at Fakenham last month. Tom Weston's filly can uphold form with Chattamento (fourth), who admittedly has a very narrow margin to make up, while Land Of Moon has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of his debut third at Lingfield. Mountain Mike and St Irene look to be the pick of the newcomers.

JUKEBOX JOKER is related to several winners, including a bumper winner, and the bar isn't set all that high, so he's worth a chance to make a successful start. Land of Moon can play a part if back on track and point-recruit Mountain Mike is a player.

This rules debut comes after a one-year absence but MOUNTAIN MIKE was placed in what has turned out to be a fairly good Irish point.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SHE'S GOT BOTTLE benefited from a couple of all-weather outings earlier in the year when gaining a brace of victories at Pontefract and over C&D under a 5lb penalty. The five-year-old is taken to continue in this rich vein of form in a contest where most of her rivals arrive with questions to answer. Strangerontheshore wasn't disgraced on her return here over shorter last week and is capable of better. Beltane and Lenny's Spirit appeal most of the remainder.

YOUNG FIRE ran well having been caught wider than ideal when fourth at Thirsk 10 days ago and, lurking on a very dangerous mark, he could well be worth chancing in the hope he gets the gaps with his usual visor refitted. Beltane is another on a handy mark and feared along with the thriving She's Got Bottle who steps back up in class in pursuit of the hat-trick. Lennys Spirit is also in the mix.

The vote goes to dual C&D winner STRANGERONTHESHORE (nap) who made a promising comeback over an inadequate 7f here eight days ago.

16:30 Southwell Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The Sandy Thomson yard is in good form and this looks like an ideal opportunity for WOLFBURG on his handicap debut following a taking success at Catterick in February. The unexposed five-year-old gets the vote ahead of Grivetana, on her first run for a new stable, and Classic Anthem, who should appreciate the drop in grade. A talented mare on her day, Hiconic should enjoy these conditions on her first run of another summer campaign.

GRIVETANA was in the process of running creditably when departing at Hereford on her final outing for Paul Nicholls 6 months ago and, having joined another good yard since, she's put forward as the answer. Wolfburg may do better still now venturing into handicaps, while Elham Valley shouldn't be taken lightly having shaped as if back in form before the lack of a recent run perhaps told here 3 weeks ago.

In a tricky race, the vote goes to HICONIC who was in fine form on good ground last summer. Belvedere Blast should also run well.

16:45 Beverley Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A mile and a half on soft ground might have been too much for KINGMONT on her handicap bow at Doncaster and she has every chance of bouncing back on this occasion. A winner on her second start at Kempton, the drop in trip may also yield improvement. Flickering Halo could be a threat back in handicap company having struggled in a heavy-ground maiden at Ripon. Handicap debutant L'Eagle Aid is capable of stepping forward.

KNIGHT TEMPLAR never figured in a handful of starts as a 2-y-o yet he's just the type his shrewd stable does well with in handicaps, so he could be the way to go on return/upped in trip without the benefit of market clues. Straight A and L'eagle Aid are a couple of others to consider.

Preference is for KINGMONT who seemed to find 1m4f on soft ground too much last time. The drop in trip could see her bounce back.

17:05 Southwell Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

KIOTO SUN shaped well on his first start back from an absence when third at Ffos Las in November, splitting two subsequent winners, and it will be no surprise if he can take the gold medal on his return to the track. Point-to-point winner Just Gino made no more than a satisfactory start to life under Rules when fifth at Bangor in December, but better can be expected from him. Haarar is also noteworthy having finished second in a similar contest at Uttoxeter on his last start over timber.

HAARAR can go on progressing as a hurdler given his fairly useful Flat form and is narrowly preferred to expensive Irish pointer Just Gino, who contested a race that's worked out well on his Rules debut at Bangor back in December and seems sure to improve. Kioto Sun is presumably not the easiest to train but still has to enter calculations for an in-form stable.

If judged on his Flat ability, Uttoxeter runner-up HAARAR is open to significant further improvement over hurdles.

17:15 Beverley Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

SPARTAN WARRIOR responded well to first-time cheekpieces when getting off the mark here over 1m2f last week and the extra couple of furlongs is unlikely to pose any concern. Miss Galiway was doing her best work at the finish when third behind the selection and is bred to improve for stepping up in trip, with similar comments applying to Miss Gitana following her fourth at Yarmouth.

MISS GITANA improved on her exploits as a 2-y-o without being seen to best effect when fourth at Yarmouth 2 weeks ago, and with the likelihood of more to come, she earns the vote to confirm the promise of that run stepping up further in trip. Recent course winner Spartan Warrior and Walter Hartright are others fancied to feature, with Solar Bentley another who may appreciate this further increase in trip.

The vote goes to SOLAR BENTLEY who has finished runner-up in both starts since the visor went on. The longer trip should suit.

17:20 Killarney Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

THOR'S HAMMER is the most experienced of these and may put that know-how to good use. His C&D second to Bremen last summer reads well, with that colt now rated 100, and there wasn't much wrong with his return to action at Gowran where he chased home a promising colt of Paddy Twomey's. Ben Coen's mount handles soft ground. Master Of The Hunt is rated 4lb higher than the selection after some fair efforts over 7f last term. Disappointing on his comeback at the Curragh, he now tries a mile for the first time. Jessica Harrington has really hit form in recent days and Heliogabalus, much improved on his second start when only beaten a length at Dundalk, can't be discounted.

MASTER OF THE HUNT sets the standard on the pick of his 2-y-o form and can bounce back now up in trip. Thor's Hammer is next best on form, while Heliogabalus is open to improvement still, and also interesting.

Preference is for THOR'S HAMMER, second over C&D last year and also second to a decent type on his recent return at Gowran

17:35 Southwell Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GIULIETTA fared best of those ridden prominently when worn down close home at Ludlow and off just a 2lb higher mark and dropping slightly in trip, she can go one place better. Our Nel shaped with promise when fourth over fences at Taunton and can make her presence felt, particularly if the first-time tongue-tie has the desired effect. Fly Awhile Johnny has shown enough on his last couple of starts to suggest he can be competitive in a race of this nature, and he is respected on his handicap hurdling debut.

Only two of the 13 due to go to post have won under Rules. HILLSIN has been something of a sinner when it comes to failing to win, with his record now standing at 0-19. However, he probably should've won on sole start for Chris Honour at Worcester last summer and the form of his latest effort at Exeter reads well in the context of this race. It's surely a matter of time before Giulietta picks up a race and she is feared most ahead of handicap debutants Fly Awhile Johnny and Jongleur d'Etoiles.

He's 0-19 over hurdles but HILLSIN (nap) split two next-time-out winners when second at Exeter last month and remains well handicapped.

17:40 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MAYZ rallied well to reach the frame at Brighton earlier this month and a similar level of performance could see John Gallagher's filly come home in front. Eye Of The Water, runner-up at Bath last time out, looks to be a big threat though, while Glencalvie will appreciate the return to a sounder surface and should not be underestimated either.

The vote goes to MAYZ, who put in good late work when second off this mark at Brighton recently and the return to a stiffer track will be in her favour. Eye of The Water has to be feared on the back of his solid Bath effort last time and he is second choice. Rose Fandango could have a part to play, particularly if the going is good or faster but Enzos Angel, though respected on the basis of his all-weather form, has a bit to prove back on turf.

The vote goes to MAYZ, who was back to form last time and won't mind any rain. Eye Of The Water rates the main danger.

17:50 Killarney Stakes 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Connections of ALPHERATZ will welcome any of the forecast rain that arrives as the Phoenix Of Spain filly is very effective on soft ground. Her form is rock-solid and she almost won a Group 3 on her reappearance at the Curragh. Seven furlongs may have been a bit sharp for her when fifth in another strong stakes race at Leopardstown and this trip looks ideal. Tannola has a few pounds to find on ratings and lacks a recent run. She was twice second to smart types last term before winning a soft-ground Galway maiden at cramped odds. Uluru readily won a soft-ground maiden for Kevin Coleman before running creditably in a sales race at Naas on stable debut.

Successful on the second of her 2 starts in maidens last year, ALPHERATZ has improved again this term, running creditably when fifth in 1000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown 37 days ago, and a repeat of that level of form should see her playing a lead role. Tannola and Uluru both promise to do better as 3-y-os and rate next best.

None of the quartet can be ruled out but ALPHERATZ has the best form and if handling the ground could take some beating

18:10 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

In an open contest, only a tentative vote can go to BANTRY. John O'Shea's gelding made it 17th time lucky when winning at Doncaster last month, but he did it in comfortable fashion and there might be more to come, despite a 6lb hike in the ratings. Ravenglass continues to run well in defeat and is unlikely to be far away, while Ceilidh and Lilandra are a couple of others to consider.

Though his losing run is mounting up, RAVENGLASS has found just one too good on each of his last two starts at Bath and the 5-y-o is taken to deservedly get his head back in front. Ceilidh was only sixth in the Brighton handicap won by Thoughtful Gift last month but he was returning from a seven-month absence that day and, with that run under his belt, George Baker's charge is taken to reverse those placings and emerge as the main danger. Recent Doncaster winner Bantry is also shortlisted.

This can go to BANTRY, who's bounced back for wind surgery and a hood going on. Ceilidh won't mind rain and is also considered.

18:20 Killarney Maiden 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

This maiden is now wide-open following Uncanny's withdrawal, and it could pay to side with QUANTUM LIGHT, who was third, one place behind the aforementioned daughter of Churchill, at Navan last week. That looks the best piece of recent form on offer and connections have swapped the cheekpieces for a visor, which could help her if she's ridden prominently again. She's not going to get many better opportunities than this and can strike at the main expense of Free Flow and See Me Through.

UCANNY has the best form and is open to further improvement, so this looks an ideal chance for her to get off the mark at the third attempt. Free Flow and See Me Through should give their running but both have plenty to find with the selection.

A modest maiden with SEE ME THROUGH having as good a chance as any and first-time cheekpieces could see him go close

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Rawaasi proved costly to follow last season, but she has the potential to be better as a three-year-old and appeals as a solid contender. Mostar Dreams, who has reached the frame on both of her starts to date, should give another good account of herself. However, Karl Burke's MELON TWIST is related to a host of useful types and given her trainer's record in these types of races, it would come as no surprise were she to make an immediate impact.

MELON TWIST is a very interesting newcomer given her price tag and pedigree, and is one to take seriously. Rawaasi sets the standard on the pick of her form, while Curan should step forward from her debut run.

The prospect of persistent rain is a concern for Rawaasi whereas MOSTAR DREAMS is proven with plenty of give underfoot.

18:40 Chepstow Maiden (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Sonic Si sets the form standard following two solid efforts, but BANTZ, a 45,000gns purchase and a half-brother to the speedy Ziggy's Dream, herself a winner on debut, might be the answer. William Haggas hasn't had many juvenile runners this season, but the son of Kodiac commands the utmost respect on his racecourse bow. Vingegaard is another likely type on paper and he is seriously considered, while market support should be noted for Cayman Tai.

VINGEGAARD makes plenty of appeal on paper for a yard that often has them ready to go first time out, so he's the choice before market clues. Bantz and Cayman Tai are two other likely types on paper and strong market support for either of that pair would put a slightly different slant on matters.

There's a good chance this goes to a newcomer, with VINGEGAARD, an early foal whose trainer does well with 2yos here, a likely type.

18:50 Killarney Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

There's unlikely to be any quarter asked or given in this maximum-field, competitive-looking heat. As such, on the pace and out of trouble is the run style that could yield maximum dividends and, to that end, a low draw would look a prerequisite. KIKI ROBERTS breaks from a helpful berth in two and Colin Keane might make use of that starting position and go forward to take up a prominent spot. Her maiden win came over 6f and she wouldn't want the ground to deteriorate too much, but Kiki Roberts looks primed for a big performance after a pipe-opener at Dundalk last month. Joseph and Aidan O'Brien contenders Puturhandstogether and Gushing are among the others to consider.

PUTURHANDSTOGETHER caught the eye at Gowran last time and there could be a lot more to come from this lightly-raced sort, so he's the obvious choice in a race where most have something to prove. Gushing and Sobriety Blue could both up their game now handicapping.

The superbly-bred GUSHING is handicapped on slow-ground form and she be a significant improver under these conditions.

19:00 Ayr Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

It might be worth taking a chance on JUMEIRA VISION, who was far from disgraced over the extended mile at Wolverhampton on his stable debut in February. Katie Scott's new recruit has few miles on the clock and is completely unexposed on turf, while the return to further could also aid his prospects. Shifter broke awkwardly and lost all chance early on at Musselburgh, but she could have a say if able to get away on terms. Reel Prospect is another to consider.

BUSBY is the only one who arrives on the back of a good effort (third at Newcastle) and he looks the most solid option returning to turf. Jumeira Vision should be back on track having his second outing for the yard and Reel Prospect can't be dismissed from a sliding mark.

A weak handicap. BUSBY has done all his winning on the AW but he has placed form on turf and arrives here in form.

19:10 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The key to this race could be the recent clash at Bath between Under Curfew (first) and JOY CHOI (second), with the latter taken to come out on top of this occasion. Malcolm Saunders' mare is 4lb better off for a head defeat on that occasion, and a return to better ground should suit at a track where she has won before. A determined winner at Windsor last week on her return to turf, Jacquelina is entitled to be thereabouts as well.

The consistent JOY CHOI enjoys a handy pull at the weights with Under Curfew, who she was narrowly beaten by at Bath last week. The 6-y-o should exact her revenge on these revised terms and while Under Curfew may again be on the premises, a bigger threat this time could be provided by Notre Maison, who shaped well on her reappearance on the all-weather three weeks ago. Jacquelina scored at Windsor recently but needs to pull out more under a penalty here.

4lb better off with the penalised Under Curfew from Bath last Monday, JOY CHOI (nap) can come out on top.

19:20 Killarney Handicap 8f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Chasing a first winner in the training ranks, the breakthrough ought to be just around the corner for Sean Davis, given that plenty of his horses have shown up well in recent times. He also rides his representative here, and VENETIAN looks worthy of an each-way play. We haven't seen the Awtaad gelding since February, and he wasn't in particularly good form then. However, the dual victor is capable at his best and can go forward from stall four to put himself in a good position as the race unfolds up the straight. Recent Gowran Park first and second Cage Rattler and Passionate will justifiably feature on many shortlists. Second in this 12 months back, Kodiac Prince has plenty going for him, despite his top-weight impost.

KODIAC PRINCE is back around his last winning mark and could be the answer to this following a decent second in a big-field Gowran handicap last week. Comfort Line also found just one too good on his latest start at Naas and he is just about second choice ahead of Passionate, who is taken to reverse recent Gowran placings with Cage Rattler on these revised terms and with this step back up to a mile a plus. Daonethatgotaway is another to consider.

Cage Rattler beat PASSIONATE (nap) last week but the latter has a pull in the weights and will appreciate this longer distance.

19:30 Ayr Handicap (Class 3) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

JORDAN ELECTRICS shaped as if in need of the outing when down the field at Musselburgh, but Jim Goldie's charge is now 5lb lower than when finishing third in the Bronze Cup here last September. The Dandy Man gelding is back on his last winning mark and could step forward. It's been a while between drinks for Snazzy Jazzy and Zarzyni, but both are more than capable at this level from their sliding handicap ratings.

THE CALTONIAN enjoyed a profitable winter on the all-weather and having been freshened up since his tumble at Newcastle in March, Linda Perratt's 5-y-o gets the vote to come out on top from his much lower turf mark. Slainte Mhath has returned in good heart this year, so she can give the selection most to think about, with Jordan Electrics, who has dropped back to his last winning mark, looking the pick of Jim Goldie's trio before market clues.

Slainte Mhath and Be Proud are feared but last year's Bronze Cup third JORDAN ELECTRICS makes the most appeal.

19:40 Chepstow Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Denied by the narrowest of margins at Salisbury last time out and runner-up at Bath already this season, CONNIE'S ROSE deserves a change in luck and stepping up in trip might help to make the difference. An unlucky fourth when stumbling leaving the stalls at Windsor, Beyond Equal is on a long losing streak but is capable on his day, while Hiatus arrives on the back of a highly creditable second at Haydock last month. Others to note include Airshow, Big Bard and Vape.

Several to consider in this competitive handicap but, that said, CONNIE'S ROSE rates a pretty confident selection on the back of a recent near miss off this mark at Salisbury where she pulled clear of the third. Stepping back up to 6f will be no bad thing and the booking of Hollie Doyle adds to her appeal. Next on the list is Big Bard, while Some Nightmare is third choice ahead of Hiatus and Beyond Equal. Don't rule out prominent showings from Heartrate and Jax Edge either.

Beyond Equal is on the shortlist but three-time C&D winner SOME NIGHTMARE has a lot in his favour back in headgear.

19:50 Killarney Handicap 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Nostra Casa has won three times from six starts since joining Paul Flynn, beating a subsequent winner (Bay Of Sanibel) into second when successful at Navan on his latest start. The Moyglare cast-off is sure to have plenty of supporters in this competitive heat, with fellow Navan victor Boher Road another leading hope for the in-form Jarlath Fahey yard. For a selection, the Willie Mullins-trained HIGHWIND gets the nod. No worse than third in five outings on the level in France and successful at Deauville, the Zarak bay was again victorious on his debut for current connections over flights at Punchestown in January. Highly tried since, the four-year-old will appreciate this drop in class and with Colin Keane aboard, he should go close. C&D winner Almuhit, The Banger Doyle and Dunvegan, who is better known for his exploits over fences, are others for the shortlist.

ALMUHIT is still on a good mark and shaped well on reappearance with an eye on this step up in trip, so he takes preference over Highwind, who is having his first Flat outing for Willie Mullins. Boher Road is another one to consider.

Plenty of these can be given chances but NEPTUNES STAIRCASE had been coming along nicely until an excusable failure last time.

20:00 Ayr Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

KELPIE GREY has notched up two comfortable victories already this season and gets the nod to defy a 6lb rise for his latest Musselburgh success. His stable companion Yaaser was last seen finishing down the field in a York handicap back in October, but that was his final start of a busy campaign and better can be expected off what looks a competitive mark. A smart performer on his day, Orbaan's official rating continues to fall and he is respected in his bid to arrest the slide.

KELPIE GREY has returned better than ever and had something to spare at Musselburgh last time, so he holds excellent claims of completing the hat-trick, with Archduke Ferdinand perhaps the main danger. Recent Catterick scorer Bowman still has plenty of handicapping scope from his reassessed mark, so he's not ruled out.

There are dangers but KELPIE GREY (nap) is thriving and he can defy a further rise in the weights. He's one who won't mind rain.

20:10 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

PORT NOIR was unlucky not to finish closer to the eventual winner after enduring a luckless passage when finishing third over 7f at Wolverhampton last month. Eased 1lb, she gets the vote to go two places better this time around. Marchetti has the ability to play a hand in a race of this nature, while Ibiza Rocks merits a second look sporting a first-time visor.

LETTER OF THE LAW bounced back to form despite making his effort earlier than ideal when runner-up at Brighton last month, so he's the percentage call to go one better. Ibiza Rocks, Port Noir and Stella Hogan are a trio of others with claims in a competitive low-grade affair.

John O'Shea won a division of this last year with ROMANOVICH, who can follow up at the expense of Fact Or Fable.

20:20 Killarney Stakes 14f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

With race fitness on his side, BUNTING appears the safest option. The French import has a similar profile to stable companion Highwind, the selection in the previous contest. A winner on debut at Fontainebleau last year, the Tony Bloom-owned four-year-old followed up on his first start over flights at Limerick. Tried at the highest level in three outings since, he reverts to the level now and should appreciate this drop in class. The 106-rated Uxmal is the danger. The five-year-old won on his fifth start at Tramore in September and is clearly going in the right direction after he was since beaten by just a neck in Listed company at Saint-Cloud. Six-time winner Dads Lad and Enjoy The Dream, who won a Grade 2 over flights, are both returning from over a year off and are likely to need the run.

UXMAL found only one too good in listed company in France on his final outing last season and he probably won't need to improve to go one better back down in grade. Stablemates Bunting and Dads Lad both have the scope to improved based on jumps form, so they're both feasible threats.

Uxmal has the best Flat form but with race-fitness on his side a chance is taken with BUNTING. He impressed in his only Flat race.

20:30 Ayr Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

HIGHFIELD VIKING was sent off a warm order when third at Catterick, but eased 1lb and dropping in grade, he shades preference. Recent C&D winner Zebra Star looks the main danger, although she was allowed an easy time of things on the front end that day and a similar scenario is unlikely. Darbucks is also a habitual prominent racer and after a pleasing third on his reappearance at Doncaster, he can go well, especially if Harry Davies can control his exuberance in the early exchanges.

HIGHFIELD VIKING shaped as if still in top form when well supported at Catterick last time and, with this stiffer track in his favour, he's the one to side with down in grade. Zebra Star is a definite player having made a winning return over C&D and Darbucks is likely to be on the premises after shaping well at Doncaster recently.

The 5yo DARBUCKS looks sure to feature if building on his encouraging return at Doncaster. Highfield Viking is second choice.

20:40 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The largely consistent CHERRYHAWK made a pleasing seasonal reappearance when finishing second over an extended 1m3f at Bath last month and she is capable of going one better. Merry Minister was collared in the shadows of the post at Chelmsford most recently and is likely to be competitive once again, while Louisiana Bay scored with plenty in hand on her penultimate start at Lingfield and may have found a quick turnaround too much under a 5lb penalty at Southwell the following week.

It could be worth chancing STARFIGHTER, who hasn't scored on turf for the best part of two years but he's able to ply his trade off a pretty attractive mark these days and the 8-y-o shaped as though his turn was near when third at Kempton on his penultimate start. Cherryhawk put in a good shift on debut for new yard at Bath recently and she is feared most. If Louisiana Bay is able to back up her recent all-weather form now returned to turf she will be a threat, too.

More questions than answers but perhaps STARFIGHTER will get a decent pace to track back on turf. Rain would suit Cherryhawk.

21:00 Ayr Handicap (Class 6) 13f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

TAFSIR (second) finished ahead of Billy Bathgate (third) when the pair met over C&D last month and she can put a subsequent below-par effort behind her to confirm superiority en route to victory this time around. The unexposed Knights Affair is stepping up to this trip for the first time on just his second start in a handicap, so he commands respect.

TAFSIR was unsuited by the way the race developed over further here last time but she'd previously highlighted her turn could be imminent again when runner-up over C&D and she earns the vote to come out on top. Knights Affair is easily one of the least exposed and market support behind him on return would look significant for the in-form David O'Meara stable. Billy Bathgate is also in the mix.

Despite a forgettable run here 12 days ago, TAFSIR still has the most compelling credentials. She's consistent in the main.
