(3) Green Asset

(6) Medieval Night
2Chris HayesD K WeldNicely-bred colt was 5.5l behind Trinity College on debut at Leopardstown over a mile on good ground; will have to improve a fair bit to overturn that form.

1st (9) Trinity College
2Wayne LordanA P O'BrienWell-bred colt was soundly beaten on Curragh debut over 7f but a better effort behind a useful type at Leopardstown over a mile since; this softer ground is new territory but will be a major player if handling it; blinkers added.

Though this soft ground is new territory for TRINITY COLLEGE, plenty by his sire handle it and he holds Medieval Knight on Leopardstown running, so can score. Green Asset can run well, while Heldtoransom is an interesting debutant. [Tyrone Molloy]

(8) New Definition
4Scott McCullaghRichard John O'BrienIs 2-23, both those wins were in 2022 on the AW when trained by James Tate; lost form in Britain and has continued to struggle since joining this stable; now down from a career-high 100 to 80; some signs of a revival at Roscommon last week.
(3) Bright Legend
4Seamie HeffernanDenis Gerard HoganHeavy-ground maiden winner over 1m2f; should be fit for his first Flat start of the season having had a hurdles run here at the festival; first-time blinkered; may need a bit further than this to show his best form.
(10) Firebrand
4Nathan CrosseJohn J NallenReceived an initial rating of 87, principally derived from two runs in France last season; failed to show similar form in two Dundalk runs on joining this stable; second over hurdles at Cork in March; absent since second in a Flat maiden at Sligo in May.
(9) Casanova
8Cian MacRedmondAdrian McGuinnessFour-time winner; competitive in good handicaps early in the season; has lost form; three uninspiring runs here at the festival, followed by a moderate effort at Naas and down the field in the Irish Cambridgeshire; needs to recapture form.
(4) Scholarship
4Declan McDonoghGerard O'LearyWinner in Britain at 6f/7f; good run on debut for this yard over 7f at Cork; not as good in Curragh races won by the high-class Crystal Black, better again when second over 1m2f at Cork; finished behind Bill Silvers and Emporio in a handicap here at the festival.
(1) Emporio
6Shay WallaceJoseph Patrick O'BrienUseful sort at best for Donnacha O'Brien, winning twice and Listed-placed; little luck in running first two starts this term, respectable runs in the circumstances; well held at Gowran last time, leaving him with questions to answer; rated 103 at this peak, now down to 90.
(2) Bill Silvers
4Chris HayesWilliam DurkanA 7f maiden winner on soft ground for Harry Eustace last season; started the season brightly at Newbury before losing form; made a bright start for this stable when sixth in a valuable C&D handicap six weeks ago; each-way chance.
4th (5) Genuine Article
4James RyanGerard KeaneWell-backed when returning to form with a third over 1m at Leopardstown in July; again went off favourite when second over C&D at the festival; finished in mid-division in the Irish Cambridgeshire; could be competitive now.
3rd (7) San Aer
6W J LeeThomas MullinsFour-time winner, including twice at this track over C&D (on soft and heavy) mixing hurdles and the Flat this year; ran on from the rear when fifth in a C&D handicap at the festival (5 1/4l behind runner-up Genuine Article); surpassed that form when fourth in a 7f premier handicap here three days later; merits respect.
1st (11) Clear Quartz
7Ronan WhelanMark FaheyReturned from 111-day absence to win a 17-runner C&D handicap on the second day of the festival; dropped to 7f for his second run at the meeting, and looked unlucky not to go close, since he suffered interference before running on well late; may turn the tables on runner-up Eddie G.
2nd (6) Monasterboice
3Colin KeaneNoel MeadeOff the mark at the ninth attempt when landing a Killarney maiden in July, on his first run beyond 7f; backed that up with a handsome C&D handicap win after his mark had been left unchanged; maintained his progression with Killarney win; realistic chance of a four-timer now.

No shortage of C&D form in this race. Preference is for CLEAR QUARTZ who won over this trip on the first of two festival outings and was unlucky over 7f on the second occasion. The progressive Monasterboice won here on either side of Killarney victories and should be in the mix again. San Aer is a dual C&D scorer and may reverse festival handicap form with Genuine Article. Bill Silvers ran respectably at the festival meeting. [Alan Sweetman]

3Jamie PowellChris TimmonsWon a 7f nursery on soft at the Curragh last year but has been well below that level in two starts this term.
(2) Dont Do Dramas
3Wesley JoyceMichael MulvanyHas won twice during a busy campaign this year; not one of his better runs at Roscommon last week; closely matched with Sylkie on Tramore running.

(1) Victor's Choice
3Robert WheartyAdrian MurrayMuch improved performer this season, winning over 7f on soft at Gowran in May and scoring readily form today's rival Nans View over C&D at the festival; down the field on better ground at Leopardstown; soft going in her favour now.
(7) Purple Sky
3Rory ClearyJ S BolgerRan well for a 10lb claimer when fourth of 15 at Gowran last week; could be on the upgrade; tongue-tie on now, and a senior rider back aboard; worth considering.
2nd (3) Eddie G
3Adam CaffreyAdrian McGuinnessRan a blinder here at the festival after a break, taking the runner-up spot with today's rival Clear Quartz back in fourth; race probably came too soon when down the field behind Sylkie; not beaten far in fifth at Leopardstown on latest.
3rd (9) Positive Energy
3W J LeeW McCreeryUnplaced favourite for race won by Victor's Choice at the festival; a bit to prove as a result, though his previous Killarney third was encouraging.
(12) Seas And Oceans
3Chris HayesE J O'NeillHas run over a range of trips in recent months, including 6f and 1m5f; this is close to his optimum judged on second placings over 1m at Dundalk and Killarney; was 3lb out of the handicap last time and has good prospects of a breakthrough win.
1st (11) Sylkie
3Colin KeaneDaniel John HowardLong-priced C&D winner at the festival; not beaten far in fourth at Tramore, and closely matched with Dont Do Dramas on that form; Colin Keane aboard, could feature.

A good run from 3lb out of the handicap at Killarney indicates that SEAS AND OCEANS (nap) can win a contest of this standard. Heading the list of likely dangers are C&D festival winners Victor's Choice and Sylkie. Purple Sky makes plenty of appeal following last week's Gowran run. [Alan Sweetman]

(14) Baltray Lady
2Declan McDonoghJoseph Patrick O'BrienFinished behind stablemate Raven Darkholme here on debut; second in a four-runner Roscommon event and given an opening mark of 67 after finishing fourth in a claimer at Navan; that rating is hardly good enough to win a maiden at this venue.
(16) Raven Darkholme
2Mikey SheehyJoseph Patrick O'BrienDid well to finish second over C&D on debut considering that she hung badly left when leading into the straight; failed to match that form when joint-favourite at Roscommon last week; should go close if reproducing the form of her debut; high drawn; alongside another strong contender Medici Venus.
2nd (3) Medici Venus
2Wayne LordanA P O'BrienA $550,000 yearling; never a threat at Leopardstown on debut (short of room early on); left that form behind when a fair fourth of 16 in first-time blinkers at Naas; further progress likely and has a fighting chance of overcoming a high draw.
1st (5) Tamam Desert
2W J LeeE J O'NeillIn rear early and found trouble in running when making debut over slightly further than this at Leopardstown in July; not beaten far and looks capable of improvement; holds a Group 1 entry in the Fillies' Mile.

Two of the leading contenders are drawn high but may still be able to dominate in what looks like an ordinary maiden. Blinkers seemed to do the trick for MEDICI VENUS when she showed improved form at Naas and she is preferred to Raven Darkholme who showed promise over C&D before last week's moderate run at Roscommon. Others to consider are Baltray Lady and Tamam Desert. [Alan Sweetman]

6W J LeeT HoganBumper winner; has been running well on the Flat; justified her rating when second at Roscommon last week; would have a better chance in a handicap.
(7) Saol Gaelach
3Rory ClearyJ S BolgerShowed signs of ability when seventh of 10 on debut at the Curragh; stepped up from that when second to a Joseph O'Brien-trained odds-on chance at Roscommon last week; solid place claims.
2nd (5) Radar Ahead
3Dylan Browne McMonagleJoseph Patrick O'BrienWell-related filly; reared at the start and lost ground on debut at Ballinrobe; did well in the circumstances to stay on for third; open to improvement and could be the one to take advantage if Rubies Are Red fails to run up to her high rating.
(8) Sulaiyma
3Chris HayesD K WeldFourth foal; half-sister to Group 3 Munster Oaks winner Sumiha and Suwayra who won on debut at two; dam Group-placed 1m2f winner, half-sister to 1m Group 3 winner Sinawann and 2m Listed winner Silwana, out of half-sister to Sinndar, trip should suit.
3rd (6) Rubies Are Red
3Wayne LordanA P O'BrienPlaced in two maidens (including at this venue on debut) before finishing a close second to Irish Oaks winner You Got To Me in the Listed Lingfield Oaks Trial; out of her depth in Oaks, Ribblesdale and Irish Oaks; undeniably disappointing when blinkered at Bellewstown a fortnight ago; blinkers left off now, probably worth another chance.

The Lingfield Oaks Trial runner-up RUBIES ARE RED could not be a confident choice after a Bellewstown defeat but may redeem herself now. The once-raced Radar Ahead and Saol Gaelach, who put in a pleasing display at Roscommon last week, are relatively unexposed. Sulaiyma is an unknown quantity. [Alan Sweetman]
