1st (7) (5/1 -100%) Bucksy Des Epeires |
5/1(-100%) | (7) Bucksy Des Epeires 5/1, Showed fair form when second in juvenile events at Dieppe and Lyon Parilly in 2022. Off 13 months but has joined an in-form yard and needs considering. Runner-up in two French hurdles and was recruited for 65,000euros; market instructive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (10/11 +48%) Illico De Cotte |
10/11(+48%) | (3) Illico De Cotte 10/11, Fetched £100,000 after landing an Irish maiden point by 12 lengths in March. Has joined a top yard and confidence behind him in the betting on Rules debut would look significant. Beat a subsequent hurdle winner by 12l in an Irish point; could be useful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (8/1 -78%) Tintagel Queen |
8/1(-78%) | (8) Tintagel Queen 8/1, Improved on debut form when second in 10-runner bumper at Chepstow (16f, soft) in March, albeit flattered by proximity to idling winner. Should have a future over hurdles. Flattered to get quite so close to an idling winner in her second bumper at Chepstow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (3/1 +33%) All Authorized |
3/1(+33%) | (6) All Authorized 3/1, Brother to useful 2m hurdle winner I Am Maximus and made the ideal start when landing a Fontwell bumper in ready fashion in April. Didn't look entirely straightforward when sixth of 11 under a penalty at Ascot on recent return but still warrants respect as a bumper winner on hurdle debut. Bumper winner who didn't run badly under a penalty at Ascot recently; now hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (40/1 -21%) Dish Of The Day |
40/1(-21%) | (2) Dish Of The Day 40/1, Hinted at ability sole outing in bumpers but needs a big step forward on hurdle debut. Beaten 27l in a heavy-ground bumper at Taunton but that was a decent race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (16/1 -113%) Top Kap |
16/1(-113%) | (5) Top Kap 16/1, Kapgarde gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/chaser Fellow Mag and Bois Sans Soif. Failed to justify support in an Exeter bumper on debut 11 months ago but could prove a different proposition now hurdling. Well beaten in an Exeter bumper 12 months ago but he did go off favourite. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (40/1 -60%) Mullys Choice |
40/1(-60%) | (4) Mullys Choice 40/1, Picked up for £60,000 after finishing second sole outing in points but looks one for the longer term under Rules. Second in an Irish point; from good jumping family but it's been a quiet start under rules. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (300/1 -100%) D'ambonnay |
300/1(-100%) | (1) D'ambonnay 300/1, Well held in a brace of bumpers 20 months apart. Well down the field in two bumpers some 605 days apart; opposable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
BUCKSY DES EPEIRES recorded some useful form when racing in France and the four-year-old may be able to open his account now under the tutelage of the in-form Venetia Williams. Illico De Cotte was an easy winner of his sole point-to-point in Ireland and the son of Kitkou warrants respect entering this sphere for leading connections. Tintagel Queen finished second in a Chepstow bumper in March and is another to consider on her hurdles debut.
ILLICO DE COTTE fetched £100,000 after landing an Irish point by 12 lengths in March and, having joined a top yard, he makes plenty of appeal. Bucksy des Epeires showed a fair level of form in France and could raise his game on his UK/stable debut, while Tintagel Queen and All Authorized merit consideration too having shown promise in bumpers.
Some potential on show. Bumper winner ALL AUTHORIZED is the brother of an Irish National winner and now goes up in distance.

1st (5) (9/1 +55%) Virginia Lodge |
9/1(+55%) | (5) Virginia Lodge 9/1, Out of a winning hurdler and in good hands but offered little at Ludlow on last month's debut. 25-1, beaten 41l on last month's Ludlow debut and could well be in need of more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/4 -120%) Francina |
11/4(-120%) | (2) Francina 11/4, Sea The Moon filly. Sister to 2 winners, including fairly useful 19f/21f hurdle winner Favorite Moon. Dam 1¼m winner. Held back by inexperience in a messy race on last month's debut at Hereford and should improve. Uplift on her near-3l Hereford debut second seems highly likely; yard in fine fettle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (7/4 +50%) Circle Of Hope |
7/4(+50%) | (1) Circle Of Hope 7/4, Yorgunnabelucky filly. Brother to fairly useful 7.4f winner Yorbelucky. Dam, 9f/1¼m winner, half-sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 21f) I'm So Lucky and useful hurdler (2m winner) Dream Esteem. Wears cheekpieces for debut for good yard. Dual-purpose family has served the owner-breeder well overall; sports cheekpieces on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (2/1 +0%) Talysh |
2/1(+0%) | (4) Talysh 2/1, Linda's Lad filly. Closely related to a winner, and half-sister to 3 winners, including useful 2m hurdle winner Persian Time. Of obvious interest on debut. Appears plenty to recommend her, as a sibling to three 1m7f-2m3f winners over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (18/1 -50%) Jackie Savage |
18/1(-50%) | (3) Jackie Savage 18/1, Jack Hobbs filly. Half-sister to fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser Return Flight, stayed 3m. Dam unraced sister to smart hurdler/very smart chaser (stayed 27f) Sunny Flight and fairly useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 27f) Golden Flight. Bred more for stamina than speed but still worth a market check. Niece of two Prix la Haye Jousselin winners who also took 2m-2m1f hurdles as youngsters. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
FRANCINA's debut second in a small-field affair at Hereford last month isn't the easiest to weigh up, but improvement looks on the cards for Jamie Snowden's filly and she could put her experience to good use here. Talysh, half-sister to the currently 129-rated Persian Time, is the most intriguing of the newcomers and any market support for her should be noted. Debutant Jackie Savage also makes some appeal on paper and completes the shortlist.
CIRCLE OF HOPE hails from a stable that's made a good start to the season with its hurdling newcomers, so she earns the vote before market clues. Talysh has an appealing pedigree and has to be feared, particularly if strong in the betting, while Francina should build on last month's debut at Hereford.
From a yard still in fine form, FRANCINA can go one better if more streetwise than on debut. Talysh is the pick of the newcomers.

1st (6) (7/2 +22%) Fiercely Proud |
7/2(+22%) | (6) Fiercely Proud 7/2, Won first 2 bumpers, including a listed contest at Cheltenham on New Year's Day. Down the field in Champion Bumper at Cheltenham and Grade 2 at Aintree subsequently but he retains potential now hurdling. Listed bumper winner; should be dangerous at this level on debut over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/2 +38%) Court In The Act |
5/2(+38%) | (3) Court In The Act 5/2, Progressed with each run in bumpers, running away with a weak event under a more positive ride after 5 months off at Fontwell (17.7f) 45 days ago. Must enter the reckoning on hurdle debut. Made all for 11l win at Fontwell on latest bumper start; major contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (12/1 -100%) Evenwood Sonofagun |
12/1(-100%) | (5) Evenwood Sonofagun 12/1, Made the frame on plenty of occasions when trained in Ireland but wasted what looked a good opportunity at Worcester when last seen in June. Good chance on peak form but disappointing in both runs this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/10 -38%) Adjuvant |
11/10(-38%) | (1) Adjuvant 11/10, Useful Flat winner at up to 14f who shaped a lot better than the distance beaten suggests sent hurdling when fourth in 16-runner novice at Ludlow (15.8f) 26 days ago, just over a length down when all but came down last. Sure to improve. Useful handicapper on Flat; Ludlow hurdles effort can be marked up; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (200/1 -100%) Nimbus Boy |
200/1(-100%) | (10) Nimbus Boy 200/1, Little sign of ability in maiden/handicap hurdles. Has left Paul Nolan Five duck eggs in Ireland; needs a transformation. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (250/1 -279%) Crossbeau |
250/1(-279%) | (4) Crossbeau 250/1, Modest maiden handicapper on Flat, stays 1½m, clipped heels and unseated rider in early stages last time. Poor maiden on Flat; likely to struggle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (14) (250/1 -150%) Inchiquin Spirit |
250/1(-150%) | (14) Inchiquin Spirit 250/1, Maiden Irish pointer who had a breathing problem when well held on last month's hurdling debut at Ludlow. Maiden pointer; never threatened on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (10/1 +0%) Mount Olympus |
10/1(+0%) | (9) Mount Olympus 10/1, Dam half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (2m winner) Ile de Re. Fairly useful handicapper on Flat (stays 1¾m), successful 3 times this year, creditable third last time. Yard going well, so worth a second look on hurdle debut. Has done well on Flat for his major dual-purpose trainer this year; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (300/1 -809%) Mambo Beat |
300/1(-809%) | (8) Mambo Beat 300/1, Fair on Flat (stays 1¼m), had irregular heartbeat when well held last time. Sold from Clive Cox's yard for only 2,000 gns in October. Low-grade Flat winner for Clive Cox; has limited hurdles potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (28/1 -180%) Blow Your Horn |
28/1(-180%) | (2) Blow Your Horn 28/1, Fairly useful handicapper on Flat (stays 2¼m), recorded hat-trick earlier in year but down the field last 3 starts. Market can guide now switching to hurdling. Fairly useful on Flat; could be involved if he adapts well to hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (250/1 -150%) Pearlymoon |
250/1(-150%) | (11) Pearlymoon 250/1, Finished last of 10 in bumper at Worcester (16f, soft) on debut in May. Has since left John Groucott. Finished last in Worcester bumper for John Groucott. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) (250/1 -150%) Bob O Rhino |
250/1(-150%) | (13) Bob O Rhino 250/1, Winning Irish pointer who was too free when well held in a Warwick bumper (16f, heavy) on NH debut 13 days ago. Good-ground Irish point winner; well held in soft-ground bumper this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (300/1 -200%) Thatza Dazzler |
300/1(-200%) | (12) Thatza Dazzler 300/1, Didn't show much in a couple of bumpers for Fergal O'Brien last term and a similar story both starts over hurdles for new yard. Has failed to progress; handicaps available shortly. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ADJUVANT would have finished much closer on his NH debut but for sprawling at the final hurdle at Ludlow last month and this smart performer on the Flat may have learned enough from that experience to open his account in this sphere today. Although Listed bumper winner Fiercely Proud wasn't quite up to Graded level at the Cheltenham and Aintree festivals, Ben Pauling's inmate is one to note now tackling hurdles and he could give the selection most to think about, ahead of Court In The Act.
Useful Flat winner ADJUVANT would've finished much closer on his Ludlow hurdle debut but for a significant late error, so he's very much fancied to build on that opening effort and make it second time lucky in this sphere. Court In The Act ran out with a Fontwell bumper on his debut for Harry Derham and must enter calculations, while others to consider are Fiercely Proud and Mount Olympus.
Interesting bumper winners COURT IN THE ACT and Fiercely Proud head the shortlist, ahead of Adjuvant.

1st (3) (10/1 +9%) Quest With Speed |
10/1(+9%) | (3) Quest With Speed 10/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 50/1, sixth of 10 in novice hurdle at Punchestown (20.3f, heavy). Off 9 months. Merits consideration. Official rating (104) gives him a fair chance in theory but appears flattered by that mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/2 -75%) Glen Kiln |
7/2(-75%) | (2) Glen Kiln 7/2, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. First run since leaving Michael J. Bowe when fourth of 18 in novice hurdle (200/1) at Cork (16f, soft) on hurdles bow 16 days ago. Has good chance. Made a bright start for this stable when fourth in a stronger maiden than this at Cork. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (66/1 -32%) Rising Dust |
66/1(-32%) | (4) Rising Dust 66/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Twelfth of 17 in novice hurdle (300/1) at Clonmel (19.4f, heavy) 12 days ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. Has struggled in three maiden hurdle runs, cheekpieces will need to make a big difference. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (20/1 +50%) Soldat Flamboyant |
20/1(+50%) | (5) Soldat Flamboyant 20/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Eighth of 11 in novice hurdle (200/1) at Galway (16.7f, heavy) 49 days ago. Remote second in a point, no apparent chance on the evidence of two maiden hurdle attempts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (13) (11/1 +73%) Phoebe's Charm |
11/1(+73%) | (13) Phoebe's Charm 11/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 300/1, ninth of 18 in novice hurdle at Cork (16f, soft) 16 days ago, not knocked about. Hinted at improvement at Cork last time, a lot more needed in order to make an impact. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (7/1 +7%) Kilbarry Saint |
7/1(+7%) | (10) Kilbarry Saint 7/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Tongue strap on for 1st time, fifth of 18 in novice hurdle at Cork (20f, soft, 100/1) 16 days ago. Placed in a point, fifth at Cork was good enough to suggest she could go close here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (5/2 +58%) Twoconduit |
5/2(+58%) | (8) Twoconduit 5/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 4 in handicap hurdle (5/1) at Doncaster (24.4f, good to soft). Off 8 months. Back down in trip. First run for yard after leaving John Patrick Ryan. Stripped of 2022 Boulta point win after positive test, modest hurdles form, stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (66/1 -65%) Clyde The Glide |
66/1(-65%) | (1) Clyde The Glide 66/1, 200/1, last of 6 in novice chase at Galway (22.5f, heavy) 23 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Very modest form overall, has struggled in beginners' chases on his last two starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (12/1 +14%) Aegirine |
12/1(+14%) | (9) Aegirine 12/1, Poor hurdler. Remains a maiden after 11 hurdle runs. Creditable fifth of 20 in handicap hurdle (18/1) at Gowran (20f, heavy) 10 days ago. Well exposed at this stage and hard to fancy in a maiden despite fair recent handicap form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (14) (100/1 -25%) Sky Tempest |
100/1(-25%) | (14) Sky Tempest 100/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. Twelfth of 19 in novice hurdle (200/1) at Punchestown (20f, good) 42 days ago. Huge price on her first three starts and has run accordingly, can be ruled out.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (80/1 +0%) Onebrightbluerose |
80/1(+0%) | (12) Onebrightbluerose 80/1, Fell in novice hurdle at Cork (20f, soft, 250/1) 16 days ago. Did not show much in bumpers and has fallen on both start over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (10/1 -150%) Trackman Tommy |
10/1(-150%) | (7) Trackman Tommy 10/1, Fair hurdler. Twelfth of 15 in novice hurdle (17/2) at Ballinrobe (21.1f, good to soft). Off 6 months. Enters calculations. Showed some ability with a pair of fourth placings at Limerick and Ballinrobe last season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (9/2 -35%) Make Sunshine |
9/2(-35%) | (11) Make Sunshine 9/2, Thrice-raced maiden. 5/1, fourth of 9 in bumper at this course (16f, heavy) 31 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. Respected. Mild encouragement from her three starts in bumpers, may need hurdling experience. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (40/1 +0%) Something Small |
40/1(+0%) | (6) Something Small 40/1, 18/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, pulled up in handicap hurdle at Wexford (20f, heavy) 4 days ago, pulled up before 2 out. Blinkered for 1st time. Tailed off in a handicap hurdle at Wexford last week, blinkers replace cheekpieces. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
GLEN KILN, from the family of Limestone Lad, might prove better than this grade in time. He returned from a small break running for a new yard at Cork recently and ran well, catching the eye with a staying-on fourth to useful horses. Trackman Tommy disappointed at Ballinrobe in May but now returns from a summer break. The form of his course placing last March has worked out well with the runner-up and third winning subsequently and he likes testing ground. Quest For Speed showed ability last January while Soldat Flamboyant has moderate point-to-point form. Twocanduit's hurdles form is poor but notably won a December point-to-point on debut before losing the race due to a banned substance, and runs for a new yard. Kilbarry Saint ran well on points debut but isn't straightforward while Make Sunshine was reported to have hung right here last month and had previously raced keenly in May.
GLEN KILN showed much more sent hurdling when fourth in a big field at Cork and gets the vote over Quest With Speed and Trackman Tommy, who are at a similar level on their best form.
A promising run at Cork on his first outing for Harry Kelly suggests that GLEN KILN may be equal to this less demanding task.

1st (5) (5/4 +58%) Heva Rose |
5/4(+58%) | (5) Heva Rose 5/4, Hasn't shown much over hurdles since joining this yard from France but potentially thrown-in, including from her chase mark, and yard couldn't be in any better form ahead of return. Out of form over hurdles in the spring but makes British chase debut from dangerous mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (10/3 +5%) Presenting A Queen |
10/3(+5%) | (4) Presenting A Queen 10/3, Won 2 bumpers and a 19.5f Chepstow novice hurdle on her first 3 starts under Rules. Showed signs of temperament later in the campaign but she has a background in points and she shaped as if better for the run when third at Wincanton on seasonal/chase debut. Made promising seasonal/chase debut last month (albeit last of three finishers). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (8/1 -60%) Artemis Kimbo |
8/1(-60%) | (1) Artemis Kimbo 8/1, Fair winning novice hurdler last season. Let down by jumping on chase/handicap bow at Hexham on return 11 days ago. Return to further may help. Didn't get far on recent chase/handicap debut but remains unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (5/1 -100%) Ya Know Yaseff |
5/1(-100%) | (6) Ya Know Yaseff 5/1, Improved fitted with blinkers, winning handicaps at Worcester/Newton Abbot (at up to 25.7f) in September. Quickly bounced back when second at Plumpton 4 weeks ago and respected despite being 2 lb out of the handicap. Largely in good form since blinkers were added but would appeal more on better ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (7/1 +22%) Lady Of The Night |
7/1(+22%) | (3) Lady Of The Night 7/1, Novice hurdle winner in 2021/22 season. Lost her way over fences after a promising start and fared no better back over hurdles when last seen in May. Seems to have lost her way but will be hard to beat here if refreshed by a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (18/1 -200%) Grasse D'oliverie |
18/1(-200%) | (2) Grasse D'oliverie 18/1, Bounced back to capitalise on a handy mark at Market Rasen in April and given a considerate return from a 7-month break at Wetherby 17 days ago. Back over fences now but she didn't convince as a chaser in France. Hurdle winner in the spring; makes chasing debut after low-key reappearance last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Ya Know Yaseff arrives in good heart and David Pipe's mare makes more appeal than most. However, the drop in trip to 2m4f might leave the daughter of Jet Away vulnerable, with PRESENTING A QUEEN shading the vote. The six-year-old should have learned plenty from her chase debut when third at Wincanton last month and any natural improvement for that reappearance could make her tough to pass. Artemis Kimbo and Lady Of The Night are others to note.
HEVA ROSE is potentially thrown-in back over fences and her yard couldn't be in any better form, so she's worth chancing on her return. Presenting A Queen offered something to work on when third on chase bow/return and is feared most.
It might be worth chancing LADY OF THE NIGHT, who will be hard to beat at this level if back on song after her break.

1st (1) (5/2 -11%) Call Of The Loon |
5/2(-11%) | (1) Call Of The Loon 5/2, Proved consistent since joining Christian Williams, scoring for second time when taking 12-runner handicap chase at Stratford (27.5f, good, 4/1) in August. Shaped as if better for the run after 3 months off when fourth at Huntingdon last week. Consistent chaser; only 4th at Huntingdon but that was in a higher grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/10 -10%) Guguss Collonges |
11/10(-10%) | (3) Guguss Collonges 11/10, Built on the promise of his previous 2 runs when winning for the first time since joining this yard at Stratford 19 days ago, responding well to an attacking ride over a longer trip. Up in distance again and should be seen to good effect around here. Made all at Stratford; every chance off 5lb higher on a track that should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (3/1 +25%) Le Tueur |
3/1(+25%) | (2) Le Tueur 3/1, Opened chase account back from a break at Huntingdon (3m, good to soft) before following up under a penalty here (29f) in March. Shaped as if needing the run after 7 months off when fourth over C&D last week. Dual course winner (the latest over 3m5f) who ran okay on his return here last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (12/1 -33%) Bertie's Bandana |
12/1(-33%) | (4) Bertie's Bandana 12/1, Poor maiden hurdler and went with no encouragement sent chasing on return 2 weeks ago. Significantly up in trip. Poor hurdler and same again on chase debut; may improve for this longer distance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
GUGUSS COLLONGES proved a different proposition when landing the spoils under more aggressive tactics at Stratford recently. A 5lb rise looks more than fair and the seven-year-old should take all the beating if dictating the pace once more. Call Of The Loon shaped better than the finishing position when fourth at Huntingdon last Tuesday suggested and Christian Williams' inmate is feared most, with Ellis Collier good value for his 8lb claim. Le Tueur can chase the duo home.
GUGUSS COLLONGES was a convincing winner at Stratford 3 weeks ago and should prove difficult to peg back. Le Tueur has a good record around here so is next best.
The veteran CALL OF THE LOON has been admirably consistent for Christian Williams and this is easier than at Huntingdon last time.

5/2(+9%) | (8) Mactavish 5/2, Finally off the mark when seeing off 8 rivals over C&D 4 weeks ago. Should remain very competitive after a 5 lb rise. Suited by switch to more positive tactics when winning over C&D last month; up 5lb. |

2nd (1) (2/1 +56%) Bertie Wooster |
2/1(+56%) | (1) Bertie Wooster 2/1, Placed in all 3 handicaps, including on 2m Wincanton reappearance 29 days ago. Back up in trip. Much respected for a yard enjoying a good spell. Placed in all three handicaps and likely to be right in the thick of things again. |

3rd (10) (18/1 -29%) Blackacre |
18/1(-29%) | (10) Blackacre 18/1, Third in a bumper in the spring. No impact in a trio of novice hurdles since but may fare better now handicapping. One to note in the betting. Showed nothing more than minor promise in three novice hurdles; handicap debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (10/3 -33%) State Legend |
10/3(-33%) | (4) State Legend 10/3, Fairly useful Flat winner who made a good start to his handicap hurdle career when only narrowly denied at Huntington (20.5f) 7 days ago. Obvious chance from the same mark. Fairly useful Flat racer; went close off this mark on handicap hurdle debut last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (6/1 +57%) Let It Shine |
6/1(+57%) | (11) Let It Shine 6/1, Reached the frame in a couple of handicaps this summer and wasn't entirely disgraced when fourth in a 6-runner Wincanton handicap (3m, good) last month. Dropping back in trip looks a good move. In the frame on three of last four outings but others here have more potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (40/1 -60%) Hey Mister Dj |
40/1(-60%) | (7) Hey Mister Dj 40/1, Poor form in bumper/completed starts over hurdles, including pulled up in a pair of Uttoxeter handicaps this season. A first-time tongue tie needs to make a big difference. Pulled up in first two handicaps; returns from break with tongue-tie on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (28/1 -180%) Trick Of The Tail |
28/1(-180%) | (3) Trick Of The Tail 28/1, Modest maiden hurdler who was third on his 2m Bangor handicap debut in August. Bounced back from a poor run at Cartmel when fourth in Sedgefield maiden last month. Step up in trip needs to spark improvement. 0-8 over hurdles; ran okay last time but improvement needed over new trip today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (28/1 -75%) Yes And Yes |
28/1(-75%) | (6) Yes And Yes 28/1, Placed in points. Only modest form in 3 qualifying runs over hurdles but latest Uttoxeter fourth was more encouraging and he's unexposed now handicapping back up in trip. Encouraging fourth in 2m maiden last month; open to more improvement in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (80/1 -60%) Spiritus Mundi |
80/1(-60%) | (12) Spiritus Mundi 80/1, Maiden who did record one of his better efforts over hurdles when third over C&D a couple of years. Off since a poor run here in January and the likelihood is that wait for first win will go on. 17-maiden; not seen since struggling (albeit on soft ground) here in January. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (28/1 -133%) Go On Ya Goodthing |
28/1(-133%) | (9) Go On Ya Goodthing 28/1, Showed something more like his bumper debut form at the second time of asking over hurdles when runner-up at Worcester (2m) in September. Respectable fourth over 18.5f at Exeter since and this even longer trip could suit now handicapping. Made inauspicious hurdling debut but next two runs were quite promising; handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MACTAVISH gained a deserved career first success over C&D in late October and a 5lb rise in the ratings may not prevent Matt Sheppard's gelding from completing a double. State Legend found himself with a bit too much to do when runner-up at Huntingdon last Tuesday and he isn't taken lightly racing off the same mark in this contest. Horses from the Joe Tizzard stable have generally been improving for their reappearances, so Bertie Wooster so one to note on his second run of the season.
STATE LEGEND only just failed to get up from this mark at Huntingdon last week and is taken to go one better now. Bertie Wooster is taken to build on his reappearance run over a shorter trip at Wincanton and provide the chief threat ahead of Blazing Court and last month's C&D scorer Mactavish.
This can go to STATE LEGEND, who went close off this mark on his recent handicap debut and could still have a bigger run in him.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (15) (8/1 +33%) Pirate Island |
8/1(+33%) | (15) Pirate Island 8/1, Once-raced maiden. Third of 9 in bumper at Tramore (16f, heavy, 14/1) on NH debut 40 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. RESERVE. First reserve, made a satisfactory debut when third in a bumper at Tramore, could go well. |

200/1(-33%) | (8) Must Meet At Mals 200/1, Once-raced maiden. Pulled up in novice hurdle at Listowel (16f, soft, 100/1) on NH debut 62 days ago, pulled up next. Saddle slipped after a bad mistake at the fourth at Listowel, stable second-string. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
CHAMPAGNE ADMIRAL has good recent form and likes testing ground. Progressive, he tackles a slightly lesser maiden than the ones in which he has been placed in recently. Chiefs Kingdom is also race-fit, goes on testing ground and ran well behind a capable type at Clonmel last month. He was beaten two lengths by Simpletwistoffaith at Kilbeggan last June but is now 4lb better off. Simpletwistoffaith finished eye-catchingly on debut for a new yard in that race and while well beaten subsequently, returns from a break. Ballycallan King, running in a first-time hood, has recent form and has place claims. Ask The Bookie was placed on debut in March 2022 and returned from 547 days off with a useful effort at Galway, from which he should improve.
A repeat of the form CHAMPAGNE ADMIRAL showed when second at Fairyhouse a couple of weeks ago will likely be good enough to see him make it third time lucky over hurdles. Paul Nolan's Chiefs Kingdom looks the chief threat on the back of his Clonmel second. Ballycallan King and Simpletwistoffaith are others who could have a say.
No match for the talented An Tobar at Fairyhouse two weeks ago, CHAMPAGNE ADMIRAL faces nothing of that calibre here

1st (2) (9/2 -80%) Colours On Canvas |
9/2(-80%) | (2) Colours On Canvas 9/2, Shaped well when fourth on debut in a big-field Naas maiden hurdle (16.3f, soft) during the spring. Will surely go close here if able to build on that starting out for new connections. It was a decent maiden hurdle at Naas in which he finished fourth of 23. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/2 +50%) Pyrotechnic |
5/2(+50%) | (4) Pyrotechnic 5/2, Fair form in just 2 races on Flat in France and was in need of experience and considerately handled on hurdling debut at Ascot (15.7f, good to soft) earlier this month, in what was almost certainly a better race than this. Open to improvement. Flat winner in France; showed up well for a long way in what looked a good Ascot novice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (9/1 +36%) Royal Defender |
9/1(+36%) | (5) Royal Defender 9/1, Point winner who showed glimmers of ability in a couple of bumpers last season but well held following a wind op on return/hurdles debut at Ascot. Beat a good horse in his Irish point but opposable on what he has shown under rules. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (13/8 -30%) Sao Carlos |
13/8(-30%) | (6) Sao Carlos 13/8, Justified favouritism when making a successful debut in a Market Rasen bumper (16.6f, good to soft) on Boxing Day last year. Absent since but bring obvious potential to the table now switched to hurdles. Bought for £190,000 after a winning his bumper and he beat some notable opposition. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (25/1 -79%) Aworkinprogress |
25/1(-79%) | (1) Aworkinprogress 25/1, €92,000 3-y-o, Soldier of Fortune gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler City Derby. Hardly set the world alight in a couple of maiden points earlier this year but it will nevertheless be interesting to see how he shapes up in the betting on this Rules debut. Tailed off in his first Irish point and was last to complete in the second. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (22/1 -10%) Lone Soldier |
22/1(-10%) | (3) Lone Soldier 22/1, Green sole outing in bumpers and shaped as if better for the run sent hurdling after 9 months off at Newton Abbot last month. However, subsequently tailed off in a Stratford novice. Positives to take from his bumper debut but he's finished well beaten in both his hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (10/1 +29%) Stenatee |
10/1(+29%) | (7) Stenatee 10/1, Ran out a wide-margin winner of 17f minor event at Angouleme on sole Flat outing for A. Chaille-Chaille in March 2022. However, offered little starting out over hurdles at Sandown recently and Jamie Moore prefers Pyrotechnic. French winner; pulled hard and ended up tailed off in a maiden at Sandown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (66/1 -313%) Stopnsearch |
66/1(-313%) | (8) Stopnsearch 66/1, Fair handicapper on Flat (stays 1½m) but has failed to trouble the judge both starts in this sphere to date. Well beaten in his two hurdles last season and he's not the force of old on the Flat. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
SAO CARLOS was a strongly supported favourite when he made a winning debut in a bumper at Market Rasen and the five-year-old is a highly appealing option, with in-form Sean Bowen booked for the ride on his hurdling debut. Former point-to-pointer Aworkinprogress, a 92,000 euro-purchase, is also considered on his introduction under Rules, while Colours On Canvas also commands respect on his first run for a new yard.
French Flat winner PYROTECHNIC should be much sharper following his recent hurdles debut at Ascot, a race won by a potentially useful novice from the Nicky Henderson yard, and he earns the vote. Colours On Canvas shaped well on his sole start for previous connections in Ireland and is feared most, albeit bumper winner Sao Carlos is also accorded a good deal of respect.
Olly Murphy's SAO CARLOS could be a useful prospect. He had some decent horses behind him when winning his bumper.

1st (4) (6/4 +40%) For Gina |
6/4(+40%) | (4) For Gina 6/4, Reliable sort who got the job done in first-time cheekpieces in 8-runner handicap at Uttoxeter (23.3f, good to soft) in June. Bettered that when a clear second back from a break at Huntingdon recently and it's not hard to envisage another bold show from this 5-y-o. Uttoxeter winner and C&D second in the summer on good; has returned in identical form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (13/2 +7%) Redbridge Rosie |
13/2(+7%) | (5) Redbridge Rosie 13/2, Maiden who proved disappointing in handful of starts last season but better efforts since returning from a break in September, particularly when chasing home an unexposed type in a Uttoxeter handicap hurdle on penultimate start. Not so good back over fences next time and she looks vulnerable. Beaten 52l in this last year, albeit off 14lb more; three fair placed efforts this autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (4/1 -33%) Star Legend |
4/1(-33%) | (1) Star Legend 4/1, Fair on the Flat for William Haggas and opened hurdles account at the eighth attempt in a 2½m maiden here (soft) last week. Shapes as though this trip will be within reach but he'll need to improve for it in order to defy a penalty back in handicap company. 2m4f maiden winner here latest; penalty demands more, but longer trip looks a plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (9/4 -29%) Boleyn Boy |
9/4(-29%) | (2) Boleyn Boy 9/4, Ran no sort of a race on handicap debut at Doncaster in February but has subsequently left that dismal effort well behind, off the mark back from a 5-month break upped to 25f at Huntingdon (good to soft). Rather fortunate that day (left clear 2 out) but 3 lb rise fair and he's a big player. Perhaps fortunate to collect when left in front two out at Huntingdon, but still respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (14/1 -56%) Aki Bomaye |
14/1(-56%) | (3) Aki Bomaye 14/1, Winner of sole start between the flags but 0-9 under Rules for the Tizzards and didn't show much back hurdling for new yard when returning to action at Worcester in August. Since undergone a wind op and now finds himself with a fair bit to prove. Stable debut extended his run of non-completions to four; hopes rest on wind surgery. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A 3lb rise for BOLEYN BOY's breakthrough victory at Huntingdon last month appears to underestimate Ben Case's gelding and he rates as the one to beat. Fellow last-time-out winner Star Legend has a 7lb penalty to defy, although the four-year-old is a potential improver now upped to an extended 2m7f. He may give the selection most to think about, ahead of the in-form For Gina, who finished in front of the selection when runner-up over C&D in June.
FOR GINA appears to be going the right way judged o her reappearance second at Huntingdon and, entitled to come on for that run, she could be the answer. The one likely to offer the most resistance is Boleyn Boy, who shed his maiden tag at that course last month and while the outcome probably would've been different had Aldsworth not exited at the second-last, he also appears to be headed in the right direction. Redbridge Rosie and Star Legend look set to scrap it out for minor honours.
The penalty demands more, but STAR LEGEND can improve for today's trip. For Gina is next most preferred.

1st (4) (5/2 +58%) Pedley Wood |
5/2(+58%) | (4) Pedley Wood 5/2, His best effort over hurdles came here. Point win at the start of his career provides the hope for better now switching to fences for the first time on his reappearance (has had wind surgery). Also wears a first-time tongue tie. Point winner; best hurdles effort came at this venue; interesting on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (3/1 +25%) Abuffalosoldier |
3/1(+25%) | (1) Abuffalosoldier 3/1, Won a 3m Newbury handicap hurdle last November but lost his way a little after finishing a good third at Cheltenham on New Year's Day. An inadequate trip does provide an excuse for his well-held fifth on last month's chase debut but he can't be supported with confidence. Won off this mark over hurdles at Newbury a year ago; second attempt over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (2/1 -14%) Tedwin Hills |
2/1(-14%) | (3) Tedwin Hills 2/1, Failed to win over hurdles but going the right way over fences, placed on first 2 attempts before scoring comfortably over 3m at Huntingdon 5 weeks ago. An 8 lb rise may not stop him with further progress on the cards. Chase form has substance; made all for 10l win at Huntingdon most recently; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (7/2 -133%) Jigginstown King |
7/2(-133%) | (2) Jigginstown King 7/2, It's all clicked for him over fences since the spring, returning from a summer break (had wind surgery) to complete a hat-trick at Stratford 43 days ago. Only nudged up another 2 lb for that. Had little to spare at Stratford last time but still commands respect, being 3-3 this term. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
JIGGINSTOWN KING's desire to win has stood him in good stead, as seen when completing a hat-trick on his reappearance at Stratford last month. A further 2lb rise for that victory doesn't appear insurmountable and Oliver Signy's charge could be worth sticking with. Tedwin Hills proved a different proposition when making all at Huntingdon in October and the six-year-old rates an obvious threat. The downgraded Abuffalosoldier should have learned plenty from his chasing bow at Plumpton last time out and isn't dismissed either.
TEDWIN HILLS likely has even more to come over fences and can make light of an 8 lb rise for Huntingdon. Jigginstown King is the obvious threat as he goes for 4 in a row, although it will be interesting to see what the betting makes of the returning Pedley Wood, whose point win at the start of his career marks him down as a possible improver over fences for in-form Joe Tizzard.
Huntingdon scorer TEDWIN HILLS (nap) holds solid claims and is taken to defy an 8lb rise. Pedley Wood is second choice.

28/1(-133%) | (3) Bents Hollow 28/1, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. 7/4, creditable second of 8 in novice hurdle at Musselburgh (15.6f, soft). Off 9 months. First run for yard after leaving Donald McCain. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Respectable form for Donald McCain, of some interest on debut for small County Kerry yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (9/1 +25%) Leahs Tricks |
9/1(+25%) | (2) Leahs Tricks 9/1, Lightly-raced winner under NH rules. Well-beaten ninth of 12 to Brighterdaysahead in Gr 3 hurdle at Down Royal (16.9f, soft, 150/1) 11 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Out of her depth in a recent Grade 3 event, battled well for maiden win at Fairyhouse. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
CAOIMHES PET has good recent form and likes testing ground. She disappointed in two runs, including here, last January/February but returned to form last month and can cope with a 2lb rise for her Sligo placing. Top weight Splashing Out is again ridden by a 7lb claimer and while she returns from a break, ran well here on heavy ground last Christmas. Pidoyne is 3lb higher than when second at Roscommon on her last run in September but today's rider claims 7lb. Leahs Tricks is interesting running in her first handicap. She was well held in a recent Grade 3 but had won a maiden hurdle in October and today's rider claims 7lb. Bents Hollow debuts for new connections in first-time cheekpieces on reappearance while Stellar Symphony's form is on a sound surface. Barbaha Queen and Mullins Cross are capable at this level while handicap debutante Double Dating represents a leading trainer but needs to improve.
PIDOYNE resumed progress after 4 months off when beaten only by a subsequent winner at Roscommon and can go one place better. Splashing Out and Caoimhes Pet head the dangers.
This looks open and perhaps CAOIMHES PET can maintain the progress that has yielded a Killarney win and a Sligo third

1st (2) (9/4 +10%) Git Maker |
9/4(+10%) | (2) Git Maker 9/4, Point winner who was 3-4 over hurdles and made it 2-4 in this sphere when landing a 4-runner Catterick handicap (25.2f, soft) in January. 5 lb higher mark to overcome following a 10-month absence but, like stablemate Super Survivor, his best days may still be ahead of him. 2-4 over fences and has the potential to rate higher this season; stays well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (2/1 +11%) Super Survivor |
2/1(+11%) | (1) Super Survivor 2/1, Dual hurdles winner who built on chase debut promise when scoring at Chepstow (23.6f, soft) last December. Not in quite same form at Uttoxeter when last seen in March but he remains open to improvement in this sphere and is greatly respected. Yard also saddles Git Maker. Thorough stayer and this is reportedly a prep race for the Welsh National. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/2 +63%) Eureka Creek |
9/2(+63%) | (4) Eureka Creek 9/2, Successful Irish pointer/hurdler who made an impressive winning start to life over fences in 3-runner handicap at Uttoxeter last November. Disappointing since, though, and she now has a bit to prove. Betting suggested her comeback run was needed but she's got a bit to prove now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (14/1 -300%) Morning Spirit |
14/1(-300%) | (3) Morning Spirit 14/1, Off the mark over fences at Carlisle last November last year but in-and-out since and reappearance effort at that Cumbrian venue was uninspiring. Return may have been needed; easy to make a case off this mark on his best form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (7/2 -17%) Just A Dime |
7/2(-17%) | (5) Just A Dime 7/2, Failed to fire in 2 handicap hurdles last winter but did win a course novice hurdle at Exeter in March 2022 and the fact he's a winning pointer provides hope he'll take to chasing. Has had wind surgery. Engaged 3.30 Exeter Monday. Winning pointer who didn't hang about over hurdles despite showing promise; had wind op. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Proven over the trip and with the ground in his favour, GIT MAKER, who has won five of his eight previous races under Rules, is hard to oppose at this level and is taken to expand on his progressive profile. The selection's stablemate Super Survivor has adapted well to chasing and is feared most, while Morning Spirit is not ruled out given he has plenty of experience in this discipline and could very easily exploit any weakness show by Jamie Snowden's pair on their seasonal reappearances.
Jamie Snowden saddled the winner of this last year and fields two strong candidates in GIT MAKER and Super Survivor this time round. The latter possesses the stronger form having accounted for some decent types at Chepstow last December but it looks significant that Gavin Sheehan partners Git Maker, who has won five of his eight starts under Rules and is armed with plenty of potential. Eureka Creek and Morning Spirit, though capable, both have a point to prove at present.
Super Survivor has more to offer but the same is true of stablemate GIT MAKER (nap), the preferred mount of Gavin Sheehan.

1st (2) (7/4 +13%) My Gift To You |
7/4(+13%) | (2) My Gift To You 7/4, Left previous form behind when making a winning handicap/yard debut over hurdles at Southwell in July. Followed up on chasing bow at Worcester (also at around 2½m on good ground) and, having held his form well over the smaller obstacles since, he's of strong interest back in this sphere. Didn't last home switched to front-running latest (hurdles), but this looks an easier race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (5/1 -67%) School For Scandal |
5/1(-67%) | (5) School For Scandal 5/1, Belatedly opened his account when scoring from the front in a Taunton handicap chase (21.7f, soft) on final start of last season. 4 lb rise fair enough and while his profile hardly screams of one likely to follow up, he will be a threat if resuming in a similar mood. 4lb rise for April's Taunton win (2m6f, soft) is fair; bled from the nose twice last term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/4 -22%) Jacks Touch |
11/4(-22%) | (1) Jacks Touch 11/4, Lost her form over hurdles but went some way to stopping the slide despite making errors on chasing debut when fourth of 7 at Huntingdon (2½m, good to soft). May well have finished closer but for a final-fence mistake and she merits respect. Engaged 3.10 Leicester Monday. Won at Leicester yesterday on second chase start and she's respected under a 7lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (25/1 -79%) Elpologreg |
25/1(-79%) | (4) Elpologreg 25/1, Modest form at best in bumpers and while there was some promise in his hurdles debut third at Stratford in May, it would be something of an understatement to say that he has failed to build on that since. Big step forward needed now sent chasing. Hasn't kicked on in bumpers or over hurdles; no chances taken with mark on chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (11/4 +45%) Calidad |
11/4(+45%) | (3) Calidad 11/4, On a good mark judged on peak hurdles form but hasn't shown much in 5 previous starts in this sphere and, though successful between the flags in April, his record under Rules stands at 0-13. 0-13 under rules but easily took a maiden point in April; mark has never been lower. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MY GIFT TO YOU's sole chase outing saw him gain his last victory at Worcester in August and the five-year-old has since run with credit back over the smaller obstacles. The return to this sphere may bring about some improvement and he could take advantage of a contest lacking depth on paper. Monday's Leicester winner Jacks Touch and School For Scandal appear the most likely to serve it up to the selection.
A winner of his sole previous start over fences during the summer, MY GIFT TO YOU is taken to make it 2-2 in this sphere. He has made the frame on each of his three subsequent starts back hurdling and improvement is likely now returned to the larger obstacles. School For Scandal is by no means certain to reproduce the form of his Taunton success in April but, with Jacks Touch due to run at Leicester on Monday and Calidad 0-13 under Rules, he is second choice all the same.
No surprise were My Gift To You able to recoup losses, but the temptingly handicapped CALIDAD is preferred back under rules.

6/4(-88%) | (9) Aston Martini 6/4, Overcame inexperience to make a winning debut in 7-runner bumper at Southwell (15.8f, good to soft) in June and looks to have been found a good opportunity switched to hurdles. Recorded a 5l win in Southwell bumper, drawing nicely clear towards the line; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (4/1 +27%) La Gomera |
4/1(+27%) | (5) La Gomera 4/1, Successful on her sole outing in points and showed plenty to work on when runner-up on her Doncaster hurdling debut (19.4f). Has yet to back that up, though was given a considerate return at Stratford 19 days ago and may come on for that. Has shown her greatest promise on good ground; open to progress granted a sound surface. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (7/2 +50%) Realisation |
7/2(+50%) | (7) Realisation 7/2, Picked up for £130,000 after finishing second on sole start between the flags and she did the job well when making a winning Rules debut in a bumper at Bangor. However, proved a let-down sent hurdling at Stratford a year later and now fitted with a first-time tongue strap. Seemed to need her reappearance run; big player judged on Bangor bumper win last autumn. |

10/1(+17%) | (11) Mistral Milly 10/1, Out of a bumper winner and offered something to work on when fourth at Ascot on debut. Disappointed at Fakenham 8 weeks later and has since left Alan King. Had two starts in bumpers for Alan King, better effort when fourth at Ascot on debut. |

5th (1) (150/1 -50%) Caught A Vibe |
150/1(-50%) | (1) Caught A Vibe 150/1, Placed on 2 of 3 starts in Irish points but well held in a trio of novice hurdles. Has struggled in novice hurdles; handicaps more suitable shortly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (13) (22/1 -83%) Tique |
22/1(-83%) | (13) Tique 22/1, Bumper winner at the fourth attempt at Bangor in May who showed her first form (poor) in this sphere when fourth of 12 in a maiden at Plumpton (15.9f, good to soft) 15 days ago. Up in trip. Bumper winner; has not looked a natural over hurdles and needs to improve her jumping. |

7th (8) (150/1 -127%) All Under Control |
150/1(-127%) | (8) All Under Control 150/1, Elusive Pimpernel filly. Half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Doctor Dex. Unplaced sole start in Irish points (Apr 8). Never landed a blow in Irish point. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (7/1 +30%) Newmill Getaway |
7/1(+30%) | (12) Newmill Getaway 7/1, Fair bumper winner who offered mild encouragement when runner-up in a novice at Exeter on hurdling debut in October. Not unduly punished when well held at Stratford subsequently so retains some potential. Well held on soft going last time; consistent form otherwise; may bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (14/1 +13%) Emma Hamilton |
14/1(+13%) | (3) Emma Hamilton 14/1, Showed something in a brace of bumpers but was well held on recent Ludlow hurdle debut. Good second to Tique in Bangor bumper; remote fourth at Ludlow switched to hurdles. |

10th (10) (125/1 -150%) I Look How I Look |
125/1(-150%) | (10) I Look How I Look 125/1, Sister to useful hurdler/high-class chaser Nube Negra but only poor form in bumpers/over hurdles so far. Has plenty to find on her 2m form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (50/1 -213%) Chantilly Haze |
50/1(-213%) | (2) Chantilly Haze 50/1, Long-standing maiden who was pulled up at Newton Abbot when last seen in May. Easy enough to look elsewhere. Exposed mare whose record is 0-24; set for another supporting role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (33/1 -230%) Miss Ghillie |
33/1(-230%) | (6) Miss Ghillie 33/1, Policy Maker mare. Closely related to fairly useful 2½m hurdle winner Charles Ritz. Failed to complete both starts in points in spring 2023. Failed to complete in British points, brought down latest; has a decent jumps pedigree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (4) (150/1 -50%) Jaunty Belle |
150/1(-50%) | (4) Jaunty Belle 150/1, Has shown nothing in 2 bumpers. Has dismal claims on her two bumper efforts. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ASTON MARTINI justified strong market support when scoring with ease on her debut in a Southwell bumper in June and looks a nice prospect for Nicky Henderson. Being from the family of Grand National winner Rule The World, she should relish the step up in trip on her hurdling bow and is fancied to maintain her unbeaten record, possibly at the main expense of the more experienced La Gomera and Chantilly Haze.
ASTON MARTINI overcame inexperience to make a successful start to her career in a Southwell bumper in June and looks to have been found an excellent opportunity to follow up on her hurdle debut. La Gomera has been a bit disappointing since making an encouraging start over hurdles at Doncaster a year ago but is entitled to come on for a considerate reappearance, while Newmill Getaway remains capable of better in this sphere based on her bumper form.
Southwell bumper winner ASTON MARTINI is taken to follow up. Realisation is feared most.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
IVANE is 6lb higher than when winning last month and might follow up. It has taken a while for him to find form but having won a similar race on testing ground at Galway, should compete again. Natural Breeze has won just once from 23 runs but is in excellent from and should also compete under a 7lb claimer. Bite That, a half-brother to Might Bite, has also won once from 23 starts and, similarly, is in-form and ridden by a 7lb claimer. Verbal Sparring ran ok in a September handicap while Petit Dejeuner debuts in handicaps on reappearance. Shean Glory was beaten long distances on recent handicap runs but is able at this level.
BITE THAT made a good return from a break at Tramore last month and can build on that and land a second success. Natural Breeze has been knocking at the door lately and is second choice ahead of last-time-out Galway winner Ivane.
Top-weight BITE THAT might be able to win his second race. He was a solid third at Tramore on his comeback run and should have improved

1st (4) (4/7 +15%) Operation Manna |
4/7(+15%) | (4) Operation Manna 4/7, Added to his good record when fresh when the easy winner of a Sandown conditional jockey's handicap 9 days ago. Escapes a penalty for that and will take a lot of stopping in the same form. Escapes a penalty for his wide-margin Sandown win so should be difficult to beat. |

2nd (1) (10/3 +17%) Benassi |
10/3(+17%) | (1) Benassi 10/3, Irish point recruit who had a good first season over hurdles, winning 2 of his 4 starts, including on handicap debut at Ffos Las (2m) in April. Failed to fire in the Silver Trophy on his Chepstow reappearance but could get back on track in these calmer waters. Back down to earth on his reappearance but that was a Class 2 handicap on heavy. |

3rd (2) (11/2 -38%) Rocky Man |
11/2(-38%) | (2) Rocky Man 11/2, Looked promising sent handicapping at the beginning of last season but signed off with a poor run at Ayr in April and fared no better on his Cheltenham return last month. First-time blinkers need to help. Quiet return; much depends on what effect the new blinkers might have. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (14/1 -87%) Casa Loupi |
14/1(-87%) | (3) Casa Loupi 14/1, Fairly useful hurdler back in 2021 and returned from a long absence with a promising display on the Flat at Nottingham in May. Off another 6 months prior to pulling up back hurdling at Plumpton recently, though. Return of cheekpieces could help but he was disappointing at Plumpton recently. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
A facile winner of a conditional riders' race at Sandown nine days ago, OPERATION MANNA has a lot going for him on these terms and, given he gets weight from the rest, a quick follow-up success is a distinct possibility, especially with Cameron Iles pitching in with his 7lb claim. Benassi showed promise last season and is dangerous to underestimate despite being pulled up on his return at Chepstow last month, while Rocky Man is not dismissed with blinkers tried for the first time.
A race which to a large extent revolves around OPERATION MANNA, who will likely go in again if in anything like the same form as at Sandown. Benassi was struggling a long way out in the Silver Trophy but can bounce back faced with a less-competitive scenario and chase Tom Lacey's charge home.
Tom Lacey's OPERATION MANNA escapes a penalty for his wide-margin win at Sandown and none of his rivals ran well last time out.

1st (4) (8/1 -100%) Ip Up |
8/1(-100%) | (4) Ip Up 8/1, Fair hurdler/chaser winner in France for David Cottin. Better effort in handicap hurdles for new yard this autumn when third over 2m at Ayr 17 days ago. Third off today's mark at Ayr latest; outpaced there, so could find this track too sharp. |

2nd (6) (7/1 -17%) On Cloud Nine |
7/1(-17%) | (6) On Cloud Nine 7/1, Runner-up completed starts in points and got off the mark at the fifth time of asking over hurdles when seeing off 8 rivals in a 19.5f Bangor maiden (good) in August. Gave it a good shot when third in a Uttoxeter handicap last time and she should have a part to play. Back to form with last time's Uttoxeter handicap third (2m, soft); likely more is needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (15/2 -50%) Mrs Grimley |
15/2(-50%) | (2) Mrs Grimley 15/2, Fair bumper winner who has shown similar form over hurdles, opening her account in a Ffos Las novice last winter. Third in her previous handicap. Claims if ready to roll after 8 months off. Consistent in the main and no ground issues; 2lb higher than for previous handicap run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (2/1 +15%) Georgi Girl |
2/1(+15%) | (3) Georgi Girl 2/1, Fair winner in 2m juvenile hurdles last season. Good third of 10 on Hereford handicap debut/reappearance and likely to have a big say here with that behind her. Paid for proximity to pace on recent return; mark is unchanged, and she retains potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (6/1 +25%) Holly |
6/1(+25%) | (1) Holly 6/1, Triple French bumper winner who landed a novice hurdle at Wincanton in December 2021. Started last season with an encouraging third on 2m Chepstow handicap debut but well beaten in only 2 runs since. This does represent a drop in grade for her, though. A market move would be interesting. Drops to a class 4 handicap for the first time; must hope last month's return was needed.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (5) (5/2 +17%) Pretending |
5/2(+17%) | (5) Pretending 5/2, Consistent in the main over hurdles last season, culminating with good second of 11 in 17f Cheltenham juvenile form. The winner and third in that race won next time so the form looks solid. Respected on return. Split two next-time winners when second in a Cheltenham Grade 3 latest; shortlisted. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Holly appears to have been given an excellent chance by the handicapper following a 4lb drop for her seasonal return at Carlisle last month. She warrants plenty of respect, but the vote goes to PRETENDING. Lucy Wadham's filly was last seen finishing second at Cheltenham in April and remains open to improvement in this sphere. Georgi Girl and Ip Up appeal most of the remainder.
GEORGI GIRL is given a chance to build on her encouraging handicap debut effort at Hereford 15 days ago. Fellow 4-y-o Pretending ended last season with a fine run in a competitive race at Cheltenham and is second choice ahead of On Cloud Nine.
Kept to the mark of her Hereford third, GEORGI GIRL may yet prove to retain more handicapping potential than Pretending.

10/3(+17%) | (1) Norton Hill 10/3, Bumper winner for Jack Barber and has made the frame all 5 completed starts in this sphere, runner-up on first start following a wind op with blinkers enlisted (retained here) in a Ffos Las maiden (21.9f, good to soft) when last seen in April. More needed back in handicap company. Placed in four of his five completed starts over hurdles; clear second when last seen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (7/2 -75%) Aldsworth |
7/2(-75%) | (6) Aldsworth 7/2, Sold out of the Alan King yard for just £5,000 but well backed and in the process of showing improved form when falling 2 out on return/debut for new yard at Huntingdon (25f, good to soft). Likely to make a bold bid to atone for that here, provided his confidence hasn't been dented by that tumble. Looked the likely winner when falling two out at Huntingdon on debut for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (15/2 +0%) Kazontherazz |
15/2(+0%) | (2) Kazontherazz 15/2, Remains 7 lb above the mark off which she last hit the target at Uttoxeter almost 2 years ago but largely creditable efforts since. Has undergone a wind op since latest start in August and she could have a part to play with the drying ground a plus. Weak finisher in both runs this year but had wind surgery since; may see this out better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (10/1 +17%) Dynamic Kate |
10/1(+17%) | (5) Dynamic Kate 10/1, Back to best following another wind op when successful at Worcester (23f, good) in August and followed that with a string of respectable efforts. Good run of form came to a grinding halt at Market Rasen last week, though, and she's probably worth taking on. Yard also saddles Fred Bear. Going back up in grade is no help, having done all her winning in Class 5. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (5/1 +23%) Fred Bear |
5/1(+23%) | (8) Fred Bear 5/1, Sole success in this sphere was gained back in 2021 but 4-time winner on the Flat since (including twice this year) and performed with credit back hurdling when fourth of 12 over C&D recently, despite refusing to settle. Will be a threat if proving more tractable this time. Not disgraced over C&D last time but his effort rather petered out after pulling hard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (5/1 +17%) Sheila Nash |
5/1(+17%) | (9) Sheila Nash 5/1, Successful twice at Worcester during summer of 2022 and posted her best effort since joining this yard when third in a 12-runner C&D event last time. Reproduction of that would put her in the picture. Ran respectably over C&D last time and remains on a workable mark; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (9/1 +10%) Sammylou |
9/1(+10%) | (3) Sammylou 9/1, Had tumbled down the weights subsequent to latest success at Uttoxeter in July 2022 and produced her best effort since when third in a 7-runner C&D handicap (good to firm) last month. Down another 1 lb and he's one to consider. Veteran who showed clear signs of a return to form in C&D contest five weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (25/1 -213%) Bright Sunbird |
25/1(-213%) | (4) Bright Sunbird 25/1, Regained the winning thread when accounting for 9 rivals at Stratford (26.4f, good to soft) during the summer. However, back up 5 lb and she'll need to produce a new personal-best in order to follow up here. Absent since winning in lower grade at Stratford four months ago; has never won when fresh. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (80/1 -300%) Meranti |
80/1(-300%) | (7) Meranti 80/1, Mid-field both starts over hurdles in Ireland and signed off time for Stuart Crawford with fourth-place finish in a bumper in May. Little to shout about in 2 appearances for new yard, though, and improvement needed now upped in trip for this handicap debut. May be capable of improvement now handicapping and upped in distance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (125/1 -25%) Kalibrate |
125/1(-25%) | (10) Kalibrate 125/1, Offered little in bumpers/over hurdles to date and looks set for another struggle from a long way out of the weights now pitched into a handicap. No worthwhile form; 38lb out of weights on handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Norton Hill is of interest stepping up in trip for his return to handicap company having run well when second in a 2m6f maiden hurdle at Ffos Las in April, but the burden of top-weight may just be too much and the vote goes to ALDSWORTH. Robbie Llewellyn's charge looked to have the race in the bag when falling two out at Huntingdon 22 days ago and compensation could await with a clear round. Bright Sunbird and Sheila Nash are others to consider.
ALDSWORTH appeared to have matters under control when exiting at the second-last on his reappearance at Huntingdon and, granted a clear round here, compensation awaits. Next on the list is Fred Bear, who took a fierce hold when finishing a place adrift of the re-opposing Sheila Nash in a C&D handicap 15 days ago and will be a big threat if setting better this time. Sheila Nash is likely to be on the premises once again, while Sammylou is lurking on a dangerous mark and also enters calculations.
Granted a clear round, ALDSWORTH may well gain compensation for his unlucky reappearance. Norton Hill is second choice.

15/2(-114%) | (4) Shotgun Jack 15/2, 17/2, career best when winning 15-runner handicap hurdle at Galway (24f, heavy) 24 days ago. Much improved to run away with a Galway 3m handicap last time; 14lb higher now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (7/2 +35%) Happy Dreams |
7/2(+35%) | (3) Happy Dreams 7/2, Latest win in chase here in March. 5/1, respectable third of 9 in handicap hurdle at Gowran (20.3f, heavy) 53 days ago. Dual chase winner at this track; can come on from Gowran hurdle return and a player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (6/1 -9%) Great Island |
6/1(-9%) | (1) Great Island 6/1, 1 win from 3 runs this season. Winner in hurdle at Gowran in September. Respectable third of 17 in handicap hurdle (11/2) at Cork (20f, soft) 16 days ago. Wide margin Gowran winner but 16l back in 3rd at Cork since; needs more off the same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (15/2 +12%) Kalanisi Dubh |
15/2(+12%) | (9) Kalanisi Dubh 15/2, Creditable sixth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Sligo (17.5f, soft, 5/1) 25 days ago. Has good chance on pick of form. Winner over 2m last year but stays this trip; solid Sligo run last time and a squeak. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (17/2 +39%) Cosmic Rock |
17/2(+39%) | (2) Cosmic Rock 17/2, Fifth of 14 in handicap hurdle at this course (16f, heavy, 20/1) 31 days ago, left with lot to do. Significantly up in trip. Stable in good form. Tongue strap on 1st time. Looks competitive on form. Course winner ran well back here on return after a long absence; tongue-tie on; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (8/1 +71%) Another Ocana |
8/1(+71%) | (10) Another Ocana 8/1, Fourteenth of 18 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (20.8f, soft, 20/1) 5 days ago. Not easy to make a case for. Good run over C&D but was poor at Punchestown 5 days ago, so has to rebound. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (13) (7/1 -27%) Lyla Garrity |
7/1(-27%) | (13) Lyla Garrity 7/1, 20/1, first run since leaving Mark Fahey when fifth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Sligo (17.5f, soft) 25 days ago, running on late. Enters calculations. Maiden was beaten only 4l on return at Sligo and a chance with improvement likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (66/1 -200%) Mason Lady |
66/1(-200%) | (12) Mason Lady 66/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fifteenth of 18 in novice hurdle (150/1) at this course (16f, heavy) 30 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Should progress. Little to show for three maiden runs but should fare better in this grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (14/1 +36%) Winter Carnival |
14/1(+36%) | (11) Winter Carnival 14/1, Below form ninth of 17 in handicap hurdle at Galway (22.2f, soft, 14/1) 71 days ago. Has shown enough ability to win in this grade but disappointing lately; has run well here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (14/1 -115%) My Friend The Wind |
14/1(-115%) | (5) My Friend The Wind 14/1, 1 win from 3 runs this season. Respectable fourth of 9 in handicap chase at Galway (22.5f, heavy, 3/1) 23 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Others more persuasive. Won over hurdles in August and two solid chase runs since; a contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (16/1 +27%) The Niffler |
16/1(+27%) | (6) The Niffler 16/1, Tongue strap on for 1st time, tenth of 15 in handicap hurdle (12/1) at Kilbeggan (19f, good to soft). Off 7 months. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Well beaten when last seen and has to return to his form of last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (14) (17/2 +70%) Steelers Appeal |
17/2(+70%) | (14) Steelers Appeal 17/2, First run since leaving T. Shanahan when sixth of 14 in handicap hurdle (11/1) at this C&D (heavy) 31 days ago. Difficult ask. Maiden in all disciplines needs to improve from C&D comeback run but is possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (25/1 -213%) Vintage Gold |
25/1(-213%) | (8) Vintage Gold 25/1, Winner in hurdle at Killarney in August. 10/1, running well fell in handicap hurdle at Listowel (20f, soft) 59 days ago looking sure to be placed. Needs a couple of these to falter. Won over 2m4f at Killarney and was running well when falling late at Listowel; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (66/1 -230%) The Vegas Raider |
66/1(-230%) | (7) The Vegas Raider 66/1, 33/1, sixth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Galway (19.1f, heavy) 49 days ago. Others more persuasive. Flat winner ran well enough in a Galway handicap hurdle last time but needs more. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SHOTGUN JACK was utterly dominant over further in Galway last month and, if in the same mood, could take a bit of beating despite going up a stone in the weights. He sluiced home by 13 lengths on soft ground in Ballybrit and the form got a boost when the horse in fifth came out and landed a handicap hurdle in Wexford. My Friend The Wind was a winner when last seen in this discipline at Ballinrobe in August. His last two runs came over fences and his fourth at Galway can be viewed in a better light after the winner's exploits at Cheltenham on Saturday. Great Island's saddle slipped in Cork, so his remote third can be marked up. Prior to that, he was a wide-margin winner over a similar trip in Gowran Park. Vintage Gold was staying on when departing at the final flight in Listowel and has a chance while Cosmic Rock made a satisfactory return in fifth at this track last month after a very lengthy absence.
It could be worth siding with KALANISI DUBH, who stepped up on her reappearance effort when sixth in a 15-runner Sligo handicap and this step back up in trip looks a potentially good move. Shotgun Jack will likely prove popular following his much-improved display at Galway where he routed the opposition. He's gone up 14 lb and drops back in trip here but the 5-y-o has to be feared all the same. Great Island is another to consider, while Mason Lady is a likely improver now handicapping.
Maybe HAPPY DREAMS can supplement his two chase wins at this track with a hurdle win off a much lower mark.

1st (7) (7/1 +50%) What's My Line |
7/1(+50%) | (7) What's My Line 7/1, Out of sorts when last seen in the spring but returns on a handy mark and would be worthy of interest if strong in the betting. Signed off last season on a bit of a downer and ideally he wants good ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (6/1 +40%) One Last Glance |
6/1(+40%) | (5) One Last Glance 6/1, Fair maiden hurdler who hasn't been seen for 20 months. Handicapper has given him a chance but hard to know how much ability he retains. Placed in handicaps before; market support welcomed after so long out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (10/3 +45%) Tellmesomethingood |
10/3(+45%) | (3) Tellmesomethingood 10/3, Unexposed hurdler who shaped with some encouragement (for Joe Tizzard) on his penultimate outing. Could step up now switched to handicaps after 8 months off. Some early promise and it was heavy ground last time; interesting handicap debutant. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/2 +18%) Tara Iti |
9/2(+18%) | (1) Tara Iti 9/2, Recorded a career best when winning 7-runner handicap hurdle at Fontwell in June. Lacklustre run at Plumpton only completed start since but cheekpieces go back on now. Has been running in a better grade and the return of cheekpieces might not be a bad thing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (66/1 -164%) Clondaw Robin |
66/1(-164%) | (9) Clondaw Robin 66/1, Hurdles winner who has yet to taste success over fences. Will probably need this return from 6 months off, so others make more appeal. It was all a bit of a struggle back in the spring; 7lb out of the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (11/2 -120%) Good Time Ahead |
11/2(-120%) | (2) Good Time Ahead 11/2, 22/1, career best when winning 8-runner handicap hurdle at Fakenham (16f, soft) 8 days ago, always holding on. Capable of following up in a weak race if it doesn't come too soon. Has a penalty for last week but he's a C&D winner with less to prove than a lot of these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (33/1 -313%) Martin Spirit |
33/1(-313%) | (4) Martin Spirit 33/1, Winner over fences in France and has hit the crossbar several times over hurdles. On a fair mark and fit from a Flat outing, so not completely dismissed. Capable hurdler but inconsistent and was tailed off on his most recent Flat run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (6) (10/1 -54%) Mi Sueno |
10/1(-54%) | (6) Mi Sueno 10/1, Unexposed for current stable and arrives on the back of a creditable third at Plumpton. Could find some improvement if he settles better. Engaged 2.15 Plumpton Monday. Comfortably beaten even when placed this year and he remains a maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (9/2 +0%) Mickyh |
9/2(+0%) | (8) Mickyh 9/2, Winning hurdler but has run poorly twice this season and first try over fences was disappointing at Worcester 112 days ago. Back with previous yard and interesting to see if they can turn him round. Potentially on a decent mark and he's back with his former trainer; not without hope. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
GOOD TIME AHEAD sprang a 22/1 surprise when scoring at Fakenham last week and a 7lb penalty may not be enough to prevent him following up if he arrives in the same mood today. There is every chance of that, given he is a previous C&D winner, but Tara Iti and One Last Glance should be ready to pounce if the selection fluffs his lines.
GOOD TIME AHEAD had something to spare when scoring at Fakenham last week and, if he handles the quick turnaround, he could defy a penalty in a race where several have something to prove. Mi Sueno arrives in form and deserves respect, while handicap debutant Tellmesomethingood deserves a mention.
In an open race a chance is taken on MICKYH who has dropped to a good mark and is now back with his former yard.

1st (3) (17/2 -183%) Templier |
17/2(-183%) | (3) Templier 17/2, In fine form over fences in the spring, winning twice at up to 17f before a busy spell possibly caught up with him at Market Rasen towards the end of March. Returns to action 5 lb above last winning mark and not discounted for all his last 4 victories have come on heavy ground. Didn't settle on hat-trick bid in March; would have interested more with a recent run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (15/8 +6%) Extraordinary Man |
15/8(+6%) | (2) Extraordinary Man 15/8, Inconsistent but put it all together when narrow winner of 10-runner handicap chase at Hereford (16f, good) 15 days ago. Not an obvious one to follow up but respected all the same. Took a hold but still made all at Hereford this month (2m, good); 4lb rise not prohibitive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (5/1 +29%) Millies Mite |
5/1(+29%) | (5) Millies Mite 5/1, Long-standing maiden who wasn't disgraced when third in handicap at Uttoxeter (2m) back in July. Mark has eased a little more back from 4 months off but others appeal more for win purposes. Thrice third over fences but 0-23 overall; not finishing off races strongly when last seen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (6/4 +25%) Up For Appeal |
6/4(+25%) | (1) Up For Appeal 6/4, Fair form in bumpers when in Ireland. Mixed record over hurdles but won at Stratford in August. Shaped quite well under a more patient ride up in trip when third at Hereford on chase bow 2 weeks ago. Entitled to improve and takes marked drop in class here for yard with fine Fakenham record. Beaten by 2m5f trip rather than the fences on his chasing debut; player down from 0-120. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (10/1 +9%) Berliet Express |
10/1(+9%) | (4) Berliet Express 10/1, Becoming well treated but showed nothing starting out for this yard at Exeter 4 weeks ago. Fine completion record over fences dented a little by unruly display on yard debut latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Extraordinary Man arrives on the back of a 2m victory at Hereford but a 4lb rise for a short-head success could leave him vulnerable here and preference is for UP FOR APPEAL, who has slipped back to a fair mark. The Christian Williams-trained gelding won off a 3lb lower mark at Southwell in August and the booking of 7lb claimer Ellis Collier could make him well treated today. Templier failed to fire when bidding for a hat-trick on his latest outing in March but would be a big player if back on song after a break.
UP FOR APPEAL shaped quite well under a patient ride when third at Hereford on chase bow and looks the way to go dropped in class. Extraordinary Man battled well when finally off the mark at Hereford 2 weeks ago and is feared most.
Back down from a 0-120 and returned to a more comfortable trip, UP FOR APPEAL (nap) can defy Hereford scorer Extraordinary Man.

1st (3) (11/2 -38%) Imac Wood |
11/2(-38%) | (3) Imac Wood 11/2, Dual chase winner in France early last year and seems to have turned a corner since a summer wind-op, building on placed effort over hurdles to win 9-runner handicap chase at Worcester (20f, good to soft) in August. Good second at Bangor since and he's a player again. Scored at Worcester in August and ran well in defeat off today's mark last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (5/1 +0%) Ballinoulart |
5/1(+0%) | (8) Ballinoulart 5/1, Low-mileage sort who was third in a pair of 3m handicap chases in the spring. Decent second here (25f) on return 4 weeks ago and bold show likely back down in trip. Placed in all three chases, most recently when second here (3m1f) on seasonal debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (2/1 +60%) Benny Silver |
2/1(+60%) | (6) Benny Silver 2/1, Promise in bumpers and improved when second in handicap hurdles both starts this season. Respected now going chasing. Runner-up in both handicap hurdles; has major role to play if he takes well to chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (11/1 +8%) King Of The Story |
11/1(+8%) | (10) King Of The Story 11/1, Joined current yard in the summer and left his previous efforts well behind to land 2m5f Fontwell handicap chase. Decent second at Plumpton last month and excuses either side of that. Not taken lightly. Has rather mixed record this year but today's return to good ground ought to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (18/1 -80%) Vocito |
18/1(-80%) | (1) Vocito 18/1, Flat winner though is a long-standing maiden over jumps. Latest second of 14 in novice chase at Thurles (18.3f, soft) 19 days ago was his best effort over fences and can make presence felt again back in a handicap. Stayed on for modest second in recent Thurles beginners' chase but has poor strike-rate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (33/1 +0%) Noah's Light |
33/1(+0%) | (12) Noah's Light 33/1, Lightly-raced ex-Irish hurdles winner who has offered precious little for present connections, including over fences. Headgear applied. 6 lb out of handicap. Won over hurdles in Ireland in November 2021 but very disappointing for this stable since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (11/1 -69%) Kalpaga |
11/1(-69%) | (5) Kalpaga 11/1, French import who was backed at big prices when cashing in on a reduced mark at Hereford (19.7f) in April. Close second at Ffos Las later that month and showed aptitude for chasing at Ludlow on return 26 days ago. Should come on for that. Course winner over hurdles in April and ran okay on recent seasonal/chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (18/1 -140%) Dream Jet |
18/1(-140%) | (4) Dream Jet 18/1, Placed in an Irish point and left his previous form under Rules behind when landing a Stratford maiden hurdle on second start for current yard in August. Lesser efforts both starts since, however, including on chase bow. Maiden hurdle winner in August but well beaten on recent chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (12/1 +14%) The Boat |
12/1(+14%) | (9) The Boat 12/1, Did the job well when doubling his tally at Leicester (22.7f, good to firm) last winter, but it was all downhill thereafter and was given a considerate return from a 7-month break over an inadequate trip at Hereford 5 weeks ago. Needs to turn a corner but may be boosted by the refitted cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (50/1 -52%) Beannaigh Do |
50/1(-52%) | (11) Beannaigh Do 50/1, No show over hurdles but fared better when runner-up at Ffos Las on his chase bow last term. However, badly let down by his jumping on his next outing and offered little after 5 months off 5 weeks ago. 5 lb out of handicap. Soundly beaten last month, after a break, and 5lb wrong here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (13/2 -8%) Family Pot |
13/2(-8%) | (7) Family Pot 13/2, Resumed from 6 months off with a solid third of 7 in handicap chase at Hereford (20.9f, good to firm). Might have found next run coming too soon so worth another chance with Harry Cobden taking over. Didn't fire last time but this dual course winner ran well here two starts ago; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (2) (33/1 -230%) Billingsley |
33/1(-230%) | (2) Billingsley 33/1, Back on scoreboard when taking 7-runner handicap chase (16/1) at Chepstow (19.4f, good to soft) in April. Not in same form at Ffos Las following month and off since. Back up in trip. Not the force of old but returns from break on workable mark; a possible. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Imac Wood has taken a step back in the right direction on his last couple of outings over fences, winning at Worcester before filling the runner-up spot at Bangor, and the five-year-old boasts strong credentials once again. The vote, though, goes to KALPAGA, who shaped as if needing her first run over fences at Ludlow and she is expected to improve on this occasion. Benny Silver and Ballinoulart appeal most of the remainder.
FAMILY POT might have found his last run coming too soon so is worth another chance to build on his return back on his last winning mark. This does look competitive, though, with Imac Wood and Ballinoulart heading the dangers.
The suggestion is IMAC WOOD, who backed up his summer win with a good second at Bangor last month.

9/2(+36%) | (4) Meehall 9/2, Respectable third of 15 in handicap hurdle (7/1) at Galway (24f, heavy) 24 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Worth considering. One of best efforts this year when 3rd over C&D in July; should be involved. |

5th (3) (12/1 +14%) Captain Jimmy |
12/1(+14%) | (3) Captain Jimmy 12/1, Eighth of 9 in handicap chase at Galway (22.5f, heavy, 5/1) 23 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Others more persuasive. Well beaten off higher hurdle marks in the spring and also over fences on return at Galway. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (13/2 +7%) Well Polly |
13/2(+7%) | (10) Well Polly 13/2, C&D winner. 12/1, fourth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Galway (24f, heavy) 24 days ago. Shouldn't be ruled out. Won this last year off 4lb higher; beaten 18l at Galway last time; will have to show more. |

7th (13) (40/1 -21%) Costaweefortune |
40/1(-21%) | (13) Costaweefortune 40/1, 100/1, eleventh of 12 in novice hurdle at Listowel (24f, good to soft) 65 days ago. Best run when 7th in a Killarney handicap hurdle but has to improve on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (11/2 +27%) Billies Filly |
11/2(+27%) | (11) Billies Filly 11/2, Lightly-raced maiden. 25/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, third of 14 in handicap hurdle at Sligo (20f, soft) 25 days ago. Up in trip. Tongue strap on 1st time. Likely to do better still, so worth chancing. Good effort on return in a Sligo handicap (2m4f) with cheekpieces; likely to have improved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (9/1 -29%) Kingston Kid |
9/1(-29%) | (1) Kingston Kid 9/1, One win from 24 NH runs. Sixth of 8 in handicap chase at Listowel (24f, soft, 5/1) 59 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Blinkers on 1st time. Should benefit from the return to hurdling. Several decent hurdle runs this year but was below form over fences last time; blinkers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (14) (66/1 -100%) Golden Glen |
66/1(-100%) | (14) Golden Glen 66/1, One win from 37 NH runs. Pulled up in handicap chase at Tramore (21.2f, good, 14/1) 171 days ago, struggling early final circuit. Switches from chase to hurdles. Mostly disappointing over fences in the last year but an each-way squeak back over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (11/2 -22%) Ballydangan |
11/2(-22%) | (5) Ballydangan 11/2, Creditable fifth of 19 in handicap hurdle at Down Royal (24.1f, soft, 11/1) 11 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. Can make presence felt. Solid efforts at Fairyhouse and Down Royal over this trip; tongue-tie is added; chance. |

|PU| (7) (33/1 -65%) Chosen Shant |
33/1(-65%) | (7) Chosen Shant 33/1, Ninth of 12 in handicap hurdle (17/2) at Ludlow (23.8f, soft), unable to sustain effort. Off 23 months. First run for yard after leaving Ian Williams. Plenty to prove. Placed in UK but has to overcome a long layoff on debut for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (100/1 -300%) Kingsofthemidlands |
100/1(-300%) | (9) Kingsofthemidlands 100/1, Last of 16 in handicap (50/1) at the Curragh (12f, soft) 45 days ago. Switches from Flat to hurdles. Significantly up in trip. 7/15 on last hurdle outing. Others are more appealing. Well beaten on both handicap hurdle starts from 2m-2m6f; loads more needed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
WHAT AN OCEAN looks a likely sort for Gordon Elliott. This seven-year-old mare ran in snatches in a big field at Gowran Park, but was noted putting in good late work for fourth over 2m4f. Judging by that performance, she is well worth a shot at an extended 3m again. Danny Gilligan's 2lb claim is a bonus in this opportunity handicap hurdle. Billies Filly is up in trip, but has a shot on the back of a third place on handicap debut over 2m4f in Sligo. Well Polly won this race last year and showed a bit more form when fourth in Galway last month, so is far from out of it. Ballydangan didn't run badly in fifth at Down Royal and the winner followed up in Punchestown to enhance the form. Top-weight Kingston Kid gets first-time blinkers and Jack Gilligan lessens his burden by 4lb, while Meehall is more than capable of picking up a cheque in this grade.
BILLIES FILLY improved when third at Sligo last time and she can do better still upped in trip, so she's preferred to What An Ocean, who is well treated if able to build on her latest effort. Celine Man is also respected.
With improvement likely from her promising third at Sligo on return, BILLIES FILLY could get off the mark today.

1st (3) (9/4 +63%) Kyntara |
9/4(+63%) | (3) Kyntara 9/4, Point/debut bumper winner who has underachieved over hurdles to this point. Has left Kim Bailey since last seen 8 months ago, so worthy of interest if the market speaks in his favour on handicap debut. Some of his form stacks up well with a view to this mark; new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/2 +30%) Feivel |
7/2(+30%) | (2) Feivel 7/2, Fairly useful hurdler/chaser who made a winning start for the Stuart Edmunds yard in a 3m handicap chase at Wetherby in February. Let down by jumping since and seemed in need of the run back over hurdles at Aintree last month. Should be sharper here. On a fair mark and his recent return at Aintree may have blown away the cobwebs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (5/4 -87%) Woodie Flash |
5/4(-87%) | (4) Woodie Flash 5/4, Irish point winner who got back on the up to double his tally over hurdles at Warwick recently, looking well suited by the longer trip. Excellent claims of following up. Up 10lb for winning by 20l at Warwick; progressive enough to deal with that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (10/1 -25%) Young Merlin |
10/1(-25%) | (1) Young Merlin 10/1, Three-time winner on the Flat and enjoyed a good summer over hurdles, landing a hat-trick (at up to 17.2f). Has lost his form since, though. He's run flat the last twice and there have to be stamina worries over this far. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Kyntara has the form to go well off what looks a very workable mark, but he returns from a layoff and this looks like a good opportunity for WOODIE FLASH to complete a double. Olly Murphy's five-year-old made the most of a drop in class when running out a very easy winner over 3m2f at Warwick earlier in the month and although he has gone up 10lb for that, this doesn't look any tougher and a repeat performance should suffice. Young Merlin rates best of the rest.
WOODIE FLASH improved markedly for a step up in trip at Warwick recently and, while this isn't quite the same stamina test, he's likely to go in again. No Tackle is of interest returning to the scene of his maiden win and Kyntara is worthy of interest starting out for a new stable.
Olly Murphy's WOODIE FLASH won so well at Warwick that he might well be capable of defying the 10lb rise.

1st (3) (5/6 -24%) Tramuntana |
5/6(-24%) | (3) Tramuntana 5/6, €60,000 3-y-o, Affinisea gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler Garcon Doux, stays 2¾m. Dam (b94), bumper winner, half-sister to smart hurdler (stayed 23f) Baradari. One to note on debut. Out of a half-sister to two Flat/Graded hurdles scorers; has been found a good opportunity. |

2nd (2) (11/8 +54%) Shamardal Star |
11/8(+54%) | (2) Shamardal Star 11/8, 9,000 gns 3-y-o, Shamardal gelding. Half-brother to smart 1m/9f winner in USA Technical Analysis. Dam 8.3f/1¼m winner. Wears tongue strap. Bred to have enough speed for this sort of test, so worth monitoring in the betting. Some high-class Flat performers from 1m to stayers' trips in family; among likeliest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/1 +10%) Sennen Cove |
9/1(+10%) | (1) Sennen Cove 9/1, Dansant gelding. Half-brother to fair 2m hurdle winner War Anthem. Dam unraced. Wears tongue strap. Out of a half-sister to a winning bumper debutante, but others are more persuasive even so. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
With no form to go on, the market should provide some clues in this four-runner bumper but there is plenty to like about the chances of TRAMUNTANA, who cost 60,000 euros as a three-year-old and Olly Murphy's gelding is a half-brother to 2m hurdle winner Garcon Doux. Shamardal Star is a half-brother to a Listed Flat winner and he could prove the biggest threat to the selection, ahead of Pollywiggle Quay.
TRAMUNTANA is out of a bumper winner and should be well prepared for this, so he's the obvious choice without the benefit of market clues. Shamardal Star is also worth noting.
Olly Murphy is taken to record a belated first bumper winner of the season with TRAMUNTANA, a nephew of Barizan and Baradari.

6/1(+25%) | (12) Wee Tony 6/1, Half-brother to smart hurdler/chaser Black Op and showed something to work on when fourth at Uttoxeter a year ago. Not seen since but has some potential. Absent since showing promise at Uttoxeter over a year ago; nicely bred; should improve. |

13/2(-117%) | (15) Of Course You Can 13/2, Made a positive start when runner-up at Huntingdon. Disappointing at Musselburgh next time but likely to get back on track returning from 8 months off. Had wind surgery since last run; big player on Huntingdon debut form; remains of interest. |

4th (1) (10/1 -25%) Dante's Inferno |
10/1(-25%) | (1) Dante's Inferno 10/1, Out of a winning hurdler and made a solid start when second at Ludlow last month. Should build on that, so not without hope. Put in a strong finish and went down only narrowly at Ludlow; one of the main players. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (22/1 -83%) King Roly |
22/1(-83%) | (7) King Roly 22/1, Scorpion gelding. Dam (h108) bumper/3m hurdle winner. Worth a market check. Dam bumper/3m hurdle winner, half-sister to a Flat scorer; likely type on breeding. |

40/1(-21%) | (3) Greenways 40/1, €13,500 3-y-o, Jukebox Jury gelding. Half-brother to 2 winners, including fairly useful hurdler Ally Cay. Dam unraced. Last of 3 finishers completed start in points, fell last next time (May 7). Disappointing favourite in two British points last spring; modest claims on form. |

9th (9) (5/2 +17%) Rue St Denis |

One to note on debut given pedigree/connections. 75,000euros 3yo; out of half-sister to two good performers; Ditcheat newcomer; respected. |

80/1(-60%) | (8) Pearly King 80/1, Dartmouth gelding. Half-brother to a point bumper winner. Dam ran twice in bumpers. Not an obvious sort on paper. Half-brother to a point winner; dam well beaten in bumpers; market can guide. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
RUE ST DENIS cost 75,000 euros at the Goffs Land Rover sale in June 2021 and has been brought along steadily by connections ahead of his racecourse bow. He is related to some useful jumpers, including Zamdy Man and Clyne, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him make a winning debut. Dante's Inferno finished second at Ludlow first time out and is respected along with Of Course You Can, who arrives following a wind operation.
RUE ST DENIS is from a good family and represents a top stable, so he's worth chancing first time out. Of Course You Can is a danger based on her debut form and Walkingoneggshells is worthy of consideration after winning an Irish point.
Another chance is given to OF COURSE YOU CAN, with Dante's Inferno second choice. Rue St Denis looks the pick of the newcomers.

18/1(-80%) | (5) Lady Lybe 18/1, Once-raced maiden. Fifth of 10 in bumper at Clonmel (16.4f, heavy, 40/1) on NH debut 12 days ago. Decent effort on debut in a Clonmel bumper; should have improved from that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (6/1 +50%) Killeavy Rose |
6/1(+50%) | (4) Killeavy Rose 6/1, Robin Des Champs mare. Half-sister to fairly useful hurdler Twin Power, stays 3m. One to note in the betting. Nicely-bred; worth checking for market confidence from a sharp local yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (40/1 -21%) Barrow Princess |
40/1(-21%) | (1) Barrow Princess 40/1, Once-raced maiden. Twelfth of 19 in bumper at Naas (16f, soft, 28/1) on NH debut 9 days ago. Well beaten on recent Naas debut and will have to improve plenty. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
FIELD A THISTLES has finished fourth in bumpers at Fairyhouse and Galway, and the form looks strong. She made her debut in the valuable Tattersalls Ireland Sales Bumper at Fairyhouse in April and was far from outclassed at 50/1. The winner of that race was last seen scoring in a Grade 3 mares' novices' hurdle at Down Royal this month. Field A Thistles reappeared at Galway in October and again ran solidly in a decent contest. She is entitled to come on from that and Jody Townend is a good booking. Ma Belle Etoile caught a tartar when a remote third over C&D last month. She is probably better judged on her debut second at Tipperary which brings her right into contention. Workinonadream has filled the runner-up berth on both occasions and should give her supporters plenty to cheer about. Killeavy Rose and Mayos Vendangeur are newcomers who are worth a market check.
WORKINONADREAM has the best form and should be able to open her account with a performance of similar merit to last time. Field A Thistles looks the main danger and Killeavy Rose would merit respect if the market spoke in her favour.
FIELD A THISTLES might be able to improve enough from her comeback at Galway to get the better of Workinonadream.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
RICH HARRY sets a clear standard of those who have raced and a repeat of last month's Newcastle third may well suffice. Groovy Baby, sister to 1m Listed winner Twist 'N' Shake, is feared most of the newcomers and Andrew Balding's filly requires close examination in the market. As does 350,000gns-purchase Fun Loving, who may well appreciate further in time but this looks a good starting point for the daughter of Le Havre.
FUN LOVING and Champagne Prince were both expensive buys and are newcomers who stand out on paper. Fun Loving is just preferred before market clues. Rich Harry has been pretty consistent and has the form to play a part in first-time cheekpieces.
Rich Harry looks vulnerable to a useful newcomer and CHAMPAGNE PRINCE may prove the answer.

18/1(-13%) | (7) Rust E Boy 18/1, Ninth of 11 in nursery at Kempton (6f, 100/1) 6 days ago. Others preferred. Exposed maiden; still to make the frame, latterly for tonight's inexperienced 7lb claimer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (22/1 -144%) Arlington |
22/1(-144%) | (4) Arlington 22/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Seventh of 10 in nursery at Newcastle (5f, 4/1) 18 days ago. Down 3 lb but opposable all the same. Retains a bit of potential but stall 10 is a concern if the plan is to go forward again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (9/2 +10%) Nouveaux |
9/2(+10%) | (2) Nouveaux 9/2, Winner at Chelmsford City in October. Respectable fourth of 12 in nursery there (5f, 5/1) 12 days ago. One to consider. Consistent since entering nurseries; is drawn to attack and goes on the shortlist. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
FORGOTTEN TREASURE produced her best effort to date when third at Chelmsford on her second attempt in a nursery. The daughter of Ten Sovereigns remains on the same mark and she may be able to capitalise on this occasion. Nouveaux won on her penultimate start at Chelmsford before being caught too wide at the same venue when one place behind the selection last time. She can enter the reckoning, while Arlington and Gogo Yubari are others worth noting.
Though she hasn't pulled up any trees in three starts so far, OUR MELODY could be about to take a big step forward now pitched into a nursery off what looks a reasonable mark, all things considered. She represents an in-form yard and confidence behind her in the betting would look significant. Torvar looks dangerous judged on the form of his penultimate start at Newcastle (didn't get the breaks at the same course next time) and he is second choice ahead of Nouveaux and Forgotten Treasure.
Preference is for FORGOTTEN TREASURE (nap), who's improved with racing and may get this run to suit. Nouveaux should go well too.

12/1(+25%) | (16) Ceilidh King 12/1, No impact in handicaps for Hughie Morrison but joined a yard which has made a name for itself this year. One to keep a close eye on in the betting. Disappointing maiden for H Morrison; not easily recommended on stable debut. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SIRIUS WHITE appeared revitalised by a 136-day break when winning with real authority at this venue earlier in the month and a 6lb rise in the handicap may not be enough to prevent the four-year-old from completing a brace. Fellow last-time-out winner Struck Gold must shoulder a 6lb penalty for his victory at Wolverhampton, which may be enough to thwart him from going in again, and a bigger threat expected to come from recent C&D winner For Real, who has only been nudged up 2lb.
If STRUCK GOLD is in the same form as at Wolverhampton he might be able to defy a 6 lb penalty. Channel Packet had a quick turnaround as a possible excuse here last time and is second choice ahead of Ceilidh King, who is one to monitor closely in the betting on his first outing for the Jack Jones yard.
Warrior Square still has potential but STRUCK GOLD looked well suited by the step up in trip last week and he can defy his penalty.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
JUNGLE JIM has shown promise on a couple of occasions, with placed efforts at Thirsk and Bath the standout efforts, and this may be the ideal opportunity for him to strike. Bint Alfella shaped with a fair amount of ability when runner-up at Beverley in August and she commands the utmost respect. Cervaro Della Sala is also capable of a decent showing.
BINT ALFELLA shaped well on debut and should step forward sufficiently to take one of these. Miss Anya and Cervaro Della Sala are far more exposed but have the form to be in the mix.
Jungle Jim may be the one to get to the front. Either way BINT ALFELLA is given the chance to build on her pleasing turf debut.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
TRADESMAN recorded a career-best performance when completing a double here last month and David Simcock's charge is hard to oppose on his current upward trajectory. A 7lb hike in the ratings for the four-year-old does give some hope to chief rival A Poet's Secret, who has only received a 2lb rise in the handicap for his recent Lingfield victory. De Vega's Warrior has fallen to an attractive mark and is another to consider on the return to 2m.
TRADESMAN has been successful on his last 3 visits here and might be able to defy the handicapper again. Grand Duchess Olga is another who has discovered the winning habit here lately and is second choice ahead of De Vega's Warrior.
The strongest claims are held by TRADESMAN (nap). He seems ideally suited to this track and can make light of this step up in class.

Remote last of five in a 1m2f Chelmsford seller two weeks ago; hard to recommend. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
It has taken NATURE WATCH enough time to get to the racecourse, but the son of Curlin, who cost a fair amount when purchased in Dubai as a juvenile, has been found a nice opportunity to make a winning start to his career. There wasn't much between Karriewhitchit (fifth) and Assail (sixth) when the pair met at Chelmsford last month and the pair are entitled to step forward from their respective debuts.
NIGHT WATCH cost a pretty packet when resold earlier this year and ticks plenty of boxes, not unexpecedly for a Godolphin newcomer. Karrieutwhitchit and Assail ran to a fair level on debut and are open to improvement, so either could take advantage if the selection doesn't live up to his paper potential.
Nature Watch may prove a cut above these rivals but KARRIEWHITCHIT ran well in the face of obvious inexperience on debut.

66/1(-525%) | (7) Celsius 66/1, Seven wins from 27 Flat runs. Seventh of 8 in handicap at Newmarket (5f, good, 12/1). Off 6 months. Had some layoffs since 2021 & he'll need to be cherry ripe on return from another break. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
BALDOMERO has been knocking on the door recently at Kempton, placing on both starts there this month, and Mick Appleby's gelding, who is 2lb higher on this occasion, deserves to get his head back in front. The return to handicap company is a big positive for Zaman Jemil, who contested a Listed event at Redcar last month, while Justcallmepete wasn't far behind the selection in fourth last time and he is expected to be in the mix.
BALDOMERO added to an ultra-reliable profile on the AW since dropped back in trip when just denied at Kempton 2 weeks ago and another bold bid looks on the cards. Justcallmepete and Zaman Jemil are feared most.
Zaman Jemil still has some potential upside but BALDOMERO is banging at the door and this track should suit him well.

7th (1) (20/1 -67%) Calm Waters |
20/1(-67%) | (1) Calm Waters 20/1, Once-raced maiden. 7/4, seventh of 12 in minor event at Chelmsford City (7f) on debut 10 days ago, very slowly away. Up in trip and should progress. One of 4 representing the Gosdens in this contest. Always on the back foot after a slow start on debut; ought to fare better but this tougher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (13/8 +7%) Dubai Melody |
13/8(+7%) | (4) Dubai Melody 13/8, Promising type. Second of 10 in minor event at Newmarket (7f, heavy, 15/8) on debut 17 days ago. Up in trip and likely to make a bold bid to go one better here. Favourite on her heavy-ground debut, when a clear second, and holds obvious claims on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (80/1 -142%) Flowering |
80/1(-142%) | (5) Flowering 80/1, Twice-raced maiden. 14/1, seventh of 8 in minor event at this course (9.5f) 25 days ago. Probably more one for handicaps in due course. Well held in two starts to date and will likely find life easier once handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (200/1 -100%) White Coco |
200/1(-100%) | (11) White Coco 200/1, Twice-raced maiden. 28/1, sixth of 8 in minor event at Newcastle (8f) 22 days ago. Another who will be of greater interest in handicaps further down the line. Big prices and well held in two runs last month; handicaps are probably next on the agenda. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (300/1 -200%) Global Compassion |
300/1(-200%) | (6) Global Compassion 300/1, Once-raced maiden. 66/1, seventh of 8 in maiden at Chelmsford City (8f) on debut 17 days ago. Readily passed over. Well held in a Chelmsford maiden early in the month; big surprise to see her involved. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
DUBAI MELODY was sent off as a well-backed favourite on her debut at Newmarket 17 days ago and, with the quick turnaround suggesting that she has come out of that race well, the daughter of Dubawi is taken to build on that respectable second-placed finish. Strutting has a similar profile, despite not yet living up to her 425,000gns purchase price tag, while her stablemate Twin Peaks won't need to be out of the ordinary to figure on her debut run.
Having caught the eye on her debut at Newmarket in September, CHORUS tops the list in this novice event, which is likely to throw up a number of future winners. Dubai Melody also made a positive start to her career on the Rowley Mile and she is feared most. Twin Peaks is the only member of the quartet trained by the Gosdens that has yet to race but she makes plenty of appeal on paper and could be the pick of them ahead of Strutting, while De Ville and Windcrack are other noteworthy newcomers.
A cracking fillies' novice (in which the Gosden yard saddles four) can go to CHORUS, who shaped nicely behind Strutting on debut.

11/1(-120%) | (1) Habooba 11/1, 1¼ lengths second of 8 to reopposing Agostino in C&D handicap 24 days ago, no match for winner. Cheekpieces back on. Career best when second to Agostino over C&D 24 days ago; 5lb turnaround maybe not enough. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (7/4 +22%) Agostino |
7/4(+22%) | (2) Agostino 7/4, 11/8, career best when winning 8-runner C&D handicap 24 days ago by 1¼ lengths from Habooba, plenty in hand. Can make light of a 5 lb rise. Landed strong support over C&D last month; up 5lb but still has handicapping scope. |

8th (5) (28/1 -75%) The Princes Poet |
28/1(-75%) | (5) The Princes Poet 28/1, Latest win at Brighton in May. Bit below form sixth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6f, 14/1) 45 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Eve Johnson Houghton. Four wins for former yard, including Polytrack; sold 7,000gns last month; others stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (12/1 -33%) Jungle Run |
12/1(-33%) | (10) Jungle Run 12/1, C&D winner in May but ran 2 poor races when last seen in August. Bounce back needed. Easy C&D win in May off just 2lb lower; no surprise to see a revival this evening. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
DICKO THE LEGEND benefited from the extra furlong when scoring over C&D earlier in the month and the three-year-old, who remains unexposed as a sprinter, looks to have scope for further progression. Araifjan is another recent C&D winner who is likely to enter calculations once again, despite the handicapper raising him 5lb for that recent success. Agostino finally got off the mark here last month and he is capable of a decent showing, along with Habooba.
AGOSTINO looked well suited by a switch to front-running tactics when finally getting off the mark over C&D last time and might be able to dominate again from a handy inside stall. Mokaatil really should be up to making his presence felt in a 0-65 and is second choice ahead of C&D specialist Araifjan.
Ultramarine and MOKAATIL can prove more potent forces at Class 6 level, particularly the selection who shaped nicely last time.

25/1(-150%) | (11) Wren Officer 25/1, Twice-raced filly. Fifth of 7 in minor event at Brighton (6f, heavy, 13/2) 33 days ago. First run for yard after leaving George Boughey. Below market expectations in two 6f turf runs for George Boughey; since sold for 10,000gns. |

Wears tongue strap. The market will guide from a double-figure stall for a yard having a poor season with 2yos. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (33/1 -65%) Masar Way |
33/1(-65%) | (12) Masar Way 33/1, Foaled February 23. 11,000 gns yearling, Masar filly. Half-sister to 1m winner Arendelle and 6f/7f winner Capuchinero. Dam unraced half-sister to smart 9f-1¼m winner (barely stayed 1½m) Mashaahed. 11,000gns yearling who's a half-sister to three winners; trainer does well with 2yos here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (6/1 +76%) Saxon Magic |
6/1(+76%) | (3) Saxon Magic 6/1, Once-raced colt. Ninth of 12 in maiden at Chelmsford City (6f, 17/2) on debut 17 days ago. Better draw tonight, up from 6f and switched in surface, but will need a good step forward. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The betting will be informative with regards to the newcomers, but WARMING showed some promise with a respectable effort on debut at Chelmsford 12 days ago and, granted a sharper start, she is likely to be a key player with that experience to draw upon. Wren Officer has also hinted at ability, while Juan Solo seemed to appreciate dropping to this trip at Wolverhampton and is another to bear in mind.
PABORUS stayed on nicely from an unpromising position when fourth at Thirsk on debut and he's open to improvement 3 months on. As such, he's marginally preferred to Laser Sharp and Warming, who also arrive on the back of encouraging initial efforts.
Preference is for LASER SHARP, who found a slow start from a wide stall too much to overcome on debut.

4th (8) (11/2 -38%) Street Parade |
11/2(-38%) | (8) Street Parade 11/2, C&D winner. 2/1, perhaps unlucky not to win when 1¼ lengths third of 7 to Josies Kid in handicap at this C&D 11 days ago, not much room. Can make amends off same mark. Won this race off 10lb higher last year; no luck behind Josies Kid over C&D latest; chance. |

5/1(-43%) | (3) Mick's Spirit 5/1, Produced the effort he'd been building up to when winning 6-runner handicap at this C&D (13/8) 24 days ago. Can go well again. Ready win over C&D last month; 2lb rise far from excessive; leading contender. |

4/1(+71%) | (4) Hover On The Wind 4/1, Creditable fifth of 13 in handicap at Newmarket (5f, soft, 22/1) 18 days ago. Stepping back in the right direction. 0-9 and no improvement for the drop to 5f latest; others look more persuasive. |

7th (7) (100/1 -300%) Due Date |
100/1(-300%) | (7) Due Date 100/1, Ninth of 10 in handicap at this C&D (28/1) 5 days ago. Something to find on form. A bit more promise since visored without appealing as a winner-in-waiting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (10/1 -67%) So Sleepy |
10/1(-67%) | (6) So Sleepy 10/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in October. 10/3, creditable second of 7 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW) 16 days ago, nearest finish. Likely to have more to offer if she can sort out her starts. C&D winner last month but behind two of these rivals next time; needs more to win. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MICK'S SPIRIT has returned to form on his last few outings, building on a string of placed efforts to score over C&D at the end of last month, and the five-year-old makes a considerable amount of appeal, especially with his rider's claim. Josies Kid has been running well since returning from a break and he is likely to enter the reckoning, while others for the shortlist include So Sleepy and Diomed Spirit.
STREET PARADE would have gone very close had he not met trouble over C&D 11 days ago and can make amends off the same mark. This does look competitive, though, headed by last-time-out winners Mick's Spirit and Josies Kid.
Mick's Spirit and DIOMED SPIRIT look the most appealing options and the latter can follow up his smooth Wolverhampton success.

2nd (4) (9/1 -80%) Call Glory |
9/1(-80%) | (4) Call Glory 9/1, Won twice for previous yards. 12/1, first run since leaving Charles Hills when respectable fourth of 9 in nursery at York (5f, heavy) 39 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. 4th (6) (11/2 -22%) Bazball |
11/2(-22%) | (6) Bazball 11/2, Course winner. 3 wins from 11 runs this year. Latest win at Chester in September. 20/1, good second of 10 in nursery at Newcastle (6f) 10 days ago, finishing well. Shortlist material. Progressed well since fitted with a visor in nurseries; goes on the shortlist. |

5th (1) (5/1 +44%) Gunfighter |
5/1(+44%) | (1) Gunfighter 5/1, Winner at Newcastle in September. Eighth of 9 in nursery (11/2) at Windsor (6f, good to soft) 36 days ago. Must improve. Best judged on his Newcastle win; player for a yard with a very good record here with 2yos. |

7th (3) (9/1 -200%) Monks Dream |
9/1(-200%) | (3) Monks Dream 9/1, 6/4, won 9-runner minor event at Newcastle (5f) 11 days ago, just holding on. Back up in trip. Makes handicap debut. Going the right way and boasts leading claims again. Return to 6f should suit but he has more on his plate now handicapping from a wide stall. |

8th (2) (7/2 +42%) Blue Prince |
7/2(+42%) | (2) Blue Prince 7/2, Winner at York in July. First run since leaving Richard Fahey when good fourth of 10 in nursery (11/1) at Newcastle (6f) 10 days ago, left poorly placed. More for his new yard behind Bazball last time when drawn wide; one to consider. |

10th (7) (16/1 -33%) Havana Rose |
16/1(-33%) | (7) Havana Rose 16/1, Lightly-raced winner. Winner at Carlisle in September. Sixth of 8 in nursery (12/1) at Newcastle (5f) 22 days ago. Back up in trip. Not taken lightly. Again inclined to pull hard last time and will want to settle better back up from 5f. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A close second in a similar race at Newcastle 10 days ago, BAZBALL has held her form well and, given she is still unexposed at the trip, Karl Burke's filly offers strong appeal off just 2lb higher this evening. Call Glory is another notable contender on just his second start for the Mick Appleby stable as he appears to be on an upwards trajectory, while the hat-trick seeking Monks Dream is also respected now he steps into handicap company for the first time.
MONKS DREAM is 2 from 2 on AW and, with further improvement on the cards, he takes preference over Bazball, who finished well when runner-up at Newcastle last time. Specific Times is another one to consider.
Newcastle winner GUNFIGHTER remains open to improvement having been gelded. Bazball is a danger.

50/1(-150%) | (6) Glencalvie 50/1, Tongue strap on for 1st time, thirteenth of 15 in handicap (25/1) at Newmarket (8f, soft) 18 days ago. Up in trip. Difficult ask. No progress for this yard and the step up in trip needs to turn things around. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Both Oriental Art and KENTUCKY KINGDOM arrive on the back of successful performances, but the the latter strikes as the better equipped to cope with the rise in the weights and is fancied to hold sway off 4lb higher than his Lingfield victory a fortnight ago. Joe Leavy has a solid rapport with the selection and, given the gelding is already a three-time C&D winner, everything seems to be in place for another bold showing. Eton College and Semser are a couple of others to consider.
JENSON BENSON ran his best race on turf when third at Salisbury when last seen 3 months ago and is potentially on a good mark back on AW. Kentucky Kingdom has won 2 of his last 3 starts so must be feared as he bids for a fourth C&D success, with Oriental Art best of the others after finally breaking his duck at Southwell.
Kentucky Kingdom comes here in top form but SEMSER may be the answer back up to his optimum trip.

1st (1) (5/6 +53%) Pedro Valentino |
5/6(+53%) | (1) Pedro Valentino 5/6, Promising individual. Fifth of 13 in minor event at Nottingham (6.1f, heavy, 7/1) on debut 41 days ago. May well do better. Single-figure price for his Nottingham debut on soft ground; is entitled to improve. |

2nd (5) (11/1 -38%) War Bride |
11/1(-38%) | (5) War Bride 11/1, Foaled April 8. £42,000 yearling, Soldier's Call filly. Half-sister to minor winner abroad by Starspangledbanner. Dam 2-y-o 5f/6f winner. Worth monitoring in the betting. £42,000 yearling whose trainer is just 3-128 with 2yos in Britain this year; market useful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/8 -89%) Inner Temple |
11/8(-89%) | (4) Inner Temple 11/8, Promising type. 15/2, third of 12 in maiden at this C&D on debut 8 days ago, very slowly away. Obvious claims. Plenty to like about last Monday's C&D debut third; his claims are obvious. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (33/1 +34%) Blue Balle |
33/1(+34%) | (2) Blue Balle 33/1, Once-raced colt. 28/1, last of 14 in maiden at Naas (7f, good to soft) on debut 68 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Gavin Patrick Cromwell. Last on his 7f Irish debut; is a rare 2yo runner for his new, jumps-oriented yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (100/1 -300%) One Moonbeam |
100/1(-300%) | (6) One Moonbeam 100/1, Twice-raced filly. Seventh of 11 in maiden (66/1) at this C&D 15 days ago, not knocked about. Hard to fancy. Big prices for two starts this autumn; likely she'll find life easier once handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (40/1 -100%) Rishi |
40/1(-100%) | (3) Rishi 40/1, Twice-raced gelding. 80/1, seventh of 12 in maiden at Chelmsford City (6f) 17 days ago. Twice shown little round Chelmsford (missed the kick from ordinary stalls each time). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
INNER TEMPLE displayed signs of inexperience before running on well to grab third over C&D last Monday and Archie Watson's colt wouldn't need to improve much from that effort to shed the maiden tag this evening. Pedro Valentino wasn't disgraced on his first start at Nottingham and is entitled to step forward from that display, while newcomer War Bride, a 42,000-pound purchase, completes the shortlist.
INNER TEMPLE sets the standard and has the potential for better, so he gets the nod over Pedro Valentino, who shaped with encouragement on debut at Nottingham. War Bride is an interesting newcomer.
Arguably an unlucky loser on his C&D debut early last week, INNER TEMPLE is preferred to Pedro Valentino.

1st (5) (9/2 +68%) Rosa Chinensis |
9/2(+68%) | (5) Rosa Chinensis 9/2, 15/2, creditable seventh of 12 in handicap at this C&D 47 days ago. Not without each-way hope but others are preferred from a win point of view. Consistent rather than progressive; needs to better latest seventh in a similar C&D event. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (7/2 +42%) Emma Emilleen |
7/2(+42%) | (4) Emma Emilleen 7/2, Creditable second of 8 in handicap at this course (8f, 5/2) 24 days ago. This step back up in trip is of dubious benefit and others make more appeal. 0-8 but can win races at this level; return to 1m2f shouldn't be a hindrance; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (8/1 +0%) Turner Girl |
8/1(+0%) | (1) Turner Girl 8/1, Creditable third of 8 in handicap (11/2) at Wolverhampton (14f) 19 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Down in trip and should make her presence felt. Two wins over further; comes here in top form but drop in trip asks new question of her. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (10/1 +17%) Pearly Star |
10/1(+17%) | (11) Pearly Star 10/1, Winner at Chester in June. 11/1, creditable fourth of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (8f) 21 days ago. Merits respect on this polytrack debut but not sure that moving up in trip will work in her favour. Consistent 7.5f turf winner; new trip needs to have a positive effect for her to take this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (10/1 -25%) Night At Sea |
10/1(-25%) | (6) Night At Sea 10/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 4/1, respectable third of 11 in maiden at Newcastle (12.4f) 19 days ago. Needs to raise her game now handicapping/switched to polytrack. Perhaps needed her recent return and she has untapped potential now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (12/1 -20%) Brassavola |
12/1(-20%) | (2) Brassavola 12/1, 10/3, first run since leaving H-A. Pantall when eighth of 12 in handicap at Kempton (8f) on UK debut 27 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Couldn't be sure that this step up in trip is what she wants. Only midfield on stable debut but that is strong form and today's trip could spark extra. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (11/1 -120%) Clipsham Gold |
11/1(-120%) | (3) Clipsham Gold 11/1, Good second of 7 in handicap at this course (8f, 10/1) 14 days ago, left poorly placed. Shapes as though this new trip will be within range and she's high on the shortlist. Four-time winner at up to 8.5f; 2nd over 1m here last time; stamina not assured up to 1m2f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (20/1 -43%) Placated |
20/1(-43%) | (12) Placated 20/1, Creditable fifth of 11 in handicap (12/1) at Windsor (11.4f, good to soft) 36 days ago. 1 lb lower and she's in with an each-way squeak. Two wins over further last season; fair run at Windsor latest; drop in trip a query. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (20/1 -43%) Eloped |
20/1(-43%) | (10) Eloped 20/1, 125/1, tailed-off seventh of 8 to One Evening in listed race at Bath (14f, heavy) 34 days ago. Back down in trip on debut for new yard and, faced with a more realistic assignment back on the AW, she's not discounted. Progressive for H Palmer this summer; latest run can be ignored; still not fully exposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (14/1 -180%) Corymbosa |
14/1(-180%) | (8) Corymbosa 14/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 8/1, fifth of 6 in minor event at Lingfield (12f, AW) 76 days ago. Needs to improve but, as a well-bred filly from a top yard, that is entirely possible now pitched into a handicap off a lowly mark. Too keen upped to 1m4f last time; makes handicap debut at a realistic level; can do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (7/1 +50%) So Farhh So Good |
7/1(+50%) | (7) So Farhh So Good 7/1, 9/1, last of 6 in handicap at Nottingham (14f, heavy) 41 days ago. Back down in trip and this 7-race maiden is likely to find a few too good once more. Placed off 7lb higher on handicap debut in July but less good since; others look safer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (9) (10/1 -100%) Rogue Warrior |
10/1(-100%) | (9) Rogue Warrior 10/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 9/2, third of 8 in minor event at Newcastle (8f) 35 days ago. Back up in trip for this handicap debut and she's one to consider. Clear promise at up to 1m2f in novice/maiden runs; capable of better now handicapping. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NIGHT AT SEA can make strides forward now she steps into handicap company and, with her match-fitness topped up by a spin around Newcastle earlier in the month, Andrew Balding's three-year-old rates as a live contender from a very workable mark. Fellow handicap debutant Rogue Warrior is another open to any amount of improvement, while Emma Emilleen and Pearly Star also enter calculations.
CLIPSHAM GOLD posted her best effort since joining this yard when runner-up over a mile here a fortnight ago and, with this stiffer test expected to be in her favour, she could be the answer to what looks a wide-open handicap. It would be no surprise to see improvement from handicap debutantes Corymbosa and Rogue Warrior, while Eloped is of interest back down in class and returned to the all-weather having understandably struggled in listed company on turf last time.
An open race in which BRASSAVOLA is given another chance now stepping up in trip. Emma Emilleen is feared most.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
