This does not appear to be the deepest of contests and that could provide UNTHINKABLE with a solid chance of breaking her maiden. The daughter of Kessaar has produced a consistent level of form across her three starts so far and any further improvement could make her difficult to beat. Stat Goddess, runner-up at Catterick six days ago, looks to be the main danger, while Cheerleader rates best of the rest.

This looks a good opening for George Boughey's UNTHINKABLE. Craig Lidster pair Stat Goddess and Iwo Jima may give her most to think about.

It's hard to get away from UNTHINKABLE, who sets a clear standard on her second at Leicester and should be hard to beat back on turf.

The market should be very informative ahead of this juvenile maiden. HUNTING SONG is certainly a debutant of interest. Aidan O'Brien's No Nay Never colt is a brother to a Listed-placed horse and holds a Group 2 Railway Stakes entry at the Curragh next month. Sir Yoshi's second in Dundalk and third in Cork read well and, if he handles the slower ground, he would have every chance. Political Power kept on well for fourth on debut on heavy ground in Chantilly, which will really stand to him. Joseph O'Brien introduces two colts and his Rudi's Apple made 140,000gns at a breeze-up sale, while the twice-raced Passing Phase is another to note.

SIR YOSHI has more to offer and looks the way to go. Newcomers Hunting Song and Womp Womp are respected.

The draw has been kind to recent C&D winner POWDERING, who won with plenty in hand at Newmarket 12 days ago. A subsequent 6lb rise could be lenient and the daughter of Ribchester is taken to complete her hat-trick. Evocative Spark drops in class having hit the frame from an unpromising position at Chester three weeks ago and he is a real danger, along with fellow class-dropper Challet.

POWDERING won nicely again at Newmarket and might still be a step ahead of the handicapper. Evocative Spark ran well at Chester last time and is second choice, while Challet has gone a while without a win but is a potential class act in a 0-75.

Evocative Spark is a key player back down in class but the thriving POWDERING may have his measure today.

Many of these would need to improve on what they've shown so far, and that could pave the way for WALK OF THE ROSES to make a successful return. The Fontwell bumper winner was far from disgraced when second under a penalty at Uttoxeter in June, but she can improve now sent hurdling. Cindysox finished a creditable third at Huntingdon on her hurdles bow last month and she is the main danger, while Hurst Hill completes the shortlist.

A weak mares' novice that can go the way of WALK OF THE ROSES, who made a promising start to her career in a couple of bumpers 12 months ago and can make the perfect start in this sphere provided she's ready to roll. Cindysox looks the most obvious danger following her recent third at Huntingdon on hurdling debut, with sole 4-y-o My Mate Polly rounding off the shortlist.

Preference is for CINDYSOX after her third at Huntingdon. She's by Kayf Tara and out of a Listed-winning hurdler.

Saxon Warrior colt SURPASS represents powerful connections and could be up to making a winning debut. He doesn't hold any big-race entries, but is sure to be well schooled for this assignment. Dr Ali didn't progress from an opening third in Navan when a beaten favourite in fourth at the same track. However, slower ground may suit him more than others. Starry Desert is a half-brother to a Listed-placed filly and starts out for a stable that has been firing plenty of winners in. Newcomers The Marty Party and Faoladh (who has plenty of winners in his pedigree) are worth checking for market strength.

An early test for these 2-y-os and the betting could be revealing in a tricky contest. SURPASS and Starry Desert are a pair bred for the job and make plenty of appeal. Dr Ali was disappointing last time but sets the standard on his debut third at Dundalk and should be suited by 7f.

Dr Ali sets the standard but the newcomers catch the eye. SURPASS is marginally preferred over Starry Desert.

Get Jiggy With It sets the standard with an official rating of 77 and though she merits respect, PUELLA LAW shades preference. Twice a runner-up over C&D, she can put that previous track experience to good use in this maiden. Sea The Stars filly Celestial Wave warrants a market check ahead of her racecourse bow, while Naepoint should not be underestimated either.

PUELLA LAW shaped well when second in a C&D handicap on her reappearance and is taken to go one better now, perhaps at the main expense of fellow 3-y-o filly Get Jiggy With It. Thanks Dad didn't appear to enjoy Brighton last week but should be in the mix if he can translate his AW form to the grass at the second time of asking.

The remaining trio are all newcomers to note, with MR COOL taken to edge out Death Or Glory and Milford in a tight contest, given that Charlie Johnston's colt is a full-brother to a couple of Listed winners.

This can go to a newcomer, with DEATH OR GLORY taken to give Richard Fahey another winner first time out. Milford should be ready to roll and the betting will be informative.

Richard Fahey saddled a 2yo newcomer to win at the last meeting here on May 17 and DEATH OF GLORY is taken to make a winning start.

JUNIPER finished a decent third at Cheltenham when attempting to complete a hat-trick last month. The forecast slower ground should be in her favour here, as is the drop in class, and with cheekpieces applied for the first-time, she could find a bit more. Champagne Court has been knocking on the door in recent starts and must enter the reckoning, along with the largely consistent Investment Manager.

JUNIPER might be 10 but she's better than ever of late, again impressing with her jumping despite being unable to complete the hat-trick at Cheltenham last month. Cheekpieces go on and she's just about the most persuasive option, ahead of Champagne Court and Investment Manager.

Perhaps the safest play is INVESTMENT MANAGER (nap) who could run around here with his eyes shut.

SPECKLED MEADOW holds each-way claims in a race where many have chances. Better ground was her undoing when last seen in Leopardstown, but this rain-softened going is very much in her favour. On her penultimate start, she beat a big field in Leopardstown and Wayne Hassett's claim has her on a competitive mark. Arbaawi didn't appear to stay 1m2f in Navan, but has winning form over 7f on soft ground at Lingfield. Play It Again Zaam is in rude health after victories in Gowran Park and Roscommon. He's now a stone higher than when he started his winning run, which makes life more difficult, but he should be in there pitching. Cage Rattler is another who merits scrutiny.

CALZAGHI is very much the type to do better now handicapping at a low level and a big effort could be forthcoming. Giuseppe Cassioli and Golden Days are just a couple of others to consider in an open contest.

Back on soft ground it may pay to take a chance on SPECKLED MEADOW returning to form

She's Got Bottle is looking for her hat-trick after wins at Pontefract and over C&D, but an added 5lb and a step up in class may prove beyond her. Mick Appleby has won this twice in the last four years making C&D winner and recent second Beltane a force to reckoned with, but ZOZIMUS is preferred. Only beaten a short head in a better race at Newmarket last time, he looks all set to go one better for a stable in form.

SHE'S GOT BOTTLE is in the form of her life and had something to spare over C&D last time, so she's worth a chance to land the hat-trick under a typically positive ride. Zozimus should play a hand if the race is run to suit and Beltane should give another good account.

Preference is for the hat-trick seeking SHE'S GOT BOTTLE (nap), who was as good as ever with her convincing win over C&D last time.

He made all to beat a subsequent winner on that occasion and can defy a 2lb rise with the promise of more come. Bustaam showed signs of a return to form when third at Haydock and can go well again, while Two Auld Pals returns to the Flat having won over hurdles in March and is preferred to stablemate Jaminoz.

SOLID SILVER was placed in a couple of decent bumpers at the end of last year and could do better now handicapping at a low level for Sir Mark Prescott. Two Auld Pals and Ayr-winner Ebony Maw are feared.

The Sir Mark Prescott-trained SOLID SILVER has travelled all the way from Newmarket and has potential off her opening mark.

Coconut Twist was a commanding winner of a Larkhill point-to-point in January and he merits respect on his first start for the Daisy Hitchins team, but a chance is taken on HOLD YOUR FORT. A multiple winner between the flags, he shaped as if in need of the outing when fifth over hurdles on the back of an absence 22 days ago. Chasing ought to be more his bag and it would be no surprise were he to step forward. I Shut That D'or is also noted.

COCONUT TWIST was running well in defeat last season, bumping into an improving type at Southwell when last seen under Rules, and having won a point since he is taken to make a winning chase debut. Hold Your Fort is also a winning pointer and is feared most as he goes chasing, ahead of I Shut That d'Or.

A chance is taken on BELGARUM after wind surgery. His mark is very tempting on the pick of his hurdle form.

This ground could play into JEANIEMACARONEY's hands. She was placed in four maiden hurdles on testing conditions before a satisfactory return to the Flat when fourth on better ground in Cork. Hugh Horgan's 5lb claim has her 1lb better off at the weights with Alessia Fernanda. Dermot Weld's filly gets a first-time tongue-strap on this step up in trip and has been placed on three occasions, so is a major player. Quantum Light looks exposed after 16 races in Britain and Ireland, although trip and ground are fine for her and this is not a strong contest.

ALESSIA FERNANDA put in another excellent shift when placed in a big-field handicap at Leopardstown 12 days ago and a repeat of that level mat well suffice back in maiden company against her own sex. Jeaniemacaroney is offered for forecast purposes.

Rayena has her first start for Richard Fahey and has plenty of placed form to her name, but she remains a maiden and may have to settle for a supporting role. Chepstow second Star Of St James will have his supporters and could also go well, but a chance is taken on the lightly-raced PEROVSKIA. She has shown signs of ability at both Wetherby and Chepstow on the turf before a poor run at Southwell, and could be well treated ahead of her handicap debut.

In a contest where few arrive with compelling claims the suggestion is DISTINCTION, who had an excuse at Pontefract last week and had been a good second over C&D prior to that. Ribkana is still a maiden but she was second here last summer and finished a creditable fourth at Ripon 10 days ago. Perovskia brings unexposed potential to her handicap debut and also makes the shortlist.

The suggestion is DISTINCTION, who was second here before running into a few dead-ends at Pontefract.

Judgementofsolomon has been raised 7lb for winning a lower grade contest at Wolverhampton, while Doncaster winner Contacto went close to landing a double when just missing out at Chester last time. The latter looks sure to make his presence felt once again, but LOVE SAFARI arrives on the back of a promising reappearance at Newcastle when just failing to catch the winner. Further progress can be expected now handicapping for the first time and he gets the vote.

CONTACTO emerged from Chester with a huge amount of credit, chasing home a thriving one from a poor position, and he can go one better now. Judgementofsolomon looks set for a profitable campaign for Sir Mark Prescott after his winning reappearance at Wolverhampton and he's the obvious danger.

The Sir Mark Prescott-trained JUDGEMENTOFSOLOMON is one from one in handicaps and this well-bred 3yo could have lots more to offer.

With precious little recent winning form on offer, it may pay to side with MONJULES with Megan Bevan claiming a valuable 7lb. With four wins over hurdles and a good Plumpton second last November to his name, the six-year-old failed to see out the trip last time out and has been found a more suitable contest. Trump Lady in entitled to improve for her first run in over two years when eighth at Warwick and could follow the selection home, leaving Silver Shade as next best.

None of these arrive in any sort of form, but MONJULES possesses the most encouraging overall profile and could be the way to go over Caspers Court.

All of these have questions to answer but MONJULES did at least have an excuse last time and he nearly won three starts back.

STATUS GREEN ran a creditable race in second behind an easy winner in Killarney and could go one better. He made up plenty of ground in the final furlong and is of interest off the same mark of 54. Angel On Fire has been beaten roughly the same distance into second at Leopardstown and into fourth at Sligo and both races have been franked, so his claims are stronger than most. James Ryan got to know So Messi when the pair were a close third in Cork last week, while Magic Charm, Adhuil and Rock Basher are in the hunt for a cheque.

For a modest handicap, a fair few of these arrive in form, with MAGIC CHARM just about the most persuasive option with this slight step back up in trip sure to suit. Angel On Fire and Status Green are a couple of potential threats.

The suggestion is STATUS GREEN who seemed to perk up for the cheekpieces when chasing home a well-treated winner at Killarney.

Ski Jump could be interesting if he gets the trip on his first start for owner/trainer Tina Jackson, but he hasn't been in action since September last year and that may count against him. CLOUDY ROSE won this last year off a mark of 48 and, although a winner last time out at Brighton, she races here off just 4lb higher. She might win again under Gina Mangan, with Twoforthegutter another to consider.

CLOUDY ROSE won this race as the second leg of a hat-trick last season and, having scored at Brighton (as she did in 2023) last time, she's the most appealing option. Peripeteia is a danger down in grade and Night Life is worth keeping in mind back up in distance.

This can go to last year's winner CLOUDY ROSE, who scored at Brighton four weeks ago and still looks feasibly treated.

Catherine Chroi has won five of her seven starts since joining Iain Jardine and is a key player. However, the mare is upped in class here and a new mark of 73 demands yet another personal best. With that in mind, a chance if taken on LAHAB, who is open to a great deal of improvement on just his third start over this trip. Last-time-out winners Iris Dancer and Havana Rum also command respect.

CATHERINE CHROI continues to thrive and looks weighted to strike once more under her rider (2-2 on her). Iris Dancer boasts a tremendous record here and can go well again. Slainte Mhath is another to consider in a trappy contest.

This could go to C&D specialist IRIS DANCER, whose recent win here has been given a firm boost by the clear runner-up.

No Getaway won this contest last year by nearly eight lengths and he arrives here after a third last time out at Kempton, leaving him with more to do. He meets runner-up Duc De Bourbon on the same terms, while YCCS PORTOCERVO won that Kempton event comfortably after a fine display of jumping and looks set to confirm the form.

PHOENIX WAY was still capable of useful form at the beginning of 2023 and is taken to make a winning start to his hunter career. Yccs Portocervo can confirm recent Kempton superiority over Duc de Bourbon and No Getaway, who won this 12 months ago, and give the selection most to think about.

This largely revolves around whether former smart handicapper PHOENIX WAY still fancies the challenge after his period out of action.

Aidan O'Brien's EPHESUS showed plenty of ability when a never-nearer third on debut at Dundalk. The winner, a stablemate of his, followed up in York and has big-race options. Ephesus got closer to a victory when runner-up in Chester and holds a Group 2 entry at Royal Ascot. Plenty of cut in the ground won't inconvenience Invention, who has been running solidly in maiden company. He is a brother to an Irish Oaks runner-up and there are wins to be had with him. Camelot colt Himalayan Heights has posted two runner-up finishes, while Slaneyside is a newcomer to note.

EPHESUS was worn down late having helped contribute to a brisk gallop at Chester 3 weeks ago and with the promise of more to come, he looks the way to go. Invention is the obvious threat on form, with Ob La Di also of interest.

It was probably a good race in which EPHESUS (nap) came up shy at Chester where he was picked off late on by one ridden colder.

Defence Treaty, Jamih and Laudable all have something to recommend them and each warrant a betting check at the very least. However, none appeal more than GOLDEN ECHO, who is open to any amount of progression and, following a promising third-placed finish on her first attempt over 1m4f in a deeper race at Leicester 18 days ago, the daughter of Golden Horn makes strong appeal.

JAMIH is well treated and was arguably unlucky not to win having suffered interference when second at Catterick, so he's taken to make amends at the possible expense of Golden Echo, who arrives on the back of an improved showing. Lincoln Rockstar is another one to consider if strong in the betting.

It might be worth siding with GOLDEN ECHO, who is still unexposed and made a bold bid when upped to 1m4f at Leicester last time.

ARKENSTAAR has course form figures of 21111 and beat a subsequent winner here last time. He can go in again. Ayr-scorer Vellner is feared most ahead of Black Friday.

Hillsin is an obvious danger if he improves on his second start after wind-surgery but top-weight looks an anchor, while Timeforarum could surprise a few on his handicap debut over what may prove to be his ideal trip.

OUR DYLAN is in a resurgent mood and remains well handicapped, so he's fancied to land the hat-trick for all that this looks quite competitive for the grade. Mr Zee and Culligran arrive on the back of improved efforts and both merit plenty of respect.

Something has clicked with OUR DYLAN and he won with sufficient authority last time to believe he may well go in again.

L'UN DEUX TROIS won over a similar trip at this track last summer and is weighted to go well again. He didn't run badly in fifth in a higher grade at Roscommon just over a fortnight ago. Paul Flynn's Forlio has prospects of adding to his Limerick success off 5lb higher. He had been off for more than 18 months and was making his Irish debut for Flynn when he got up by a neck in Limerick. There should be more to come from him. Nusra was the horse beaten into second in Limerick and she ought to be on the premises again. Flynn also saddles Sligo winner War Thunder, who will have his supporters.

L'UN DEUX TROIS made a satisfactory return to action when fifth at Roscommon earlier this month and with that sure to have blown away any cobwebs, Oliver McKiernan's 8-y-o is fancied to repeat what he did last year and score second time up over C&D. Forlio, Nusra and Spinning Web were 1-2-3 at Limerick earlier this month and they can provide most resistance in an open-looking finale.

There could be a big run in C&D winner L'UN DEUX TROIS who signalled a return to form after a break at Roscommon.

Open to more improvement than many of her rivals, OPAL STORM could be worth chancing after an encouraging fourth-placed finish over this course and distance 15 days ago. The Brian Rothwell-trained filly outran huge odds with a first-time tongue-tie added that day and, given it was her first start since last September, the handicapper has given her a chance off 1lb lower. Yazaman, King Of The Jungle and Stallone can all give the selection plenty to think about.

FRANK THE SPARK is still unexposed and left the impression he'd come on for his reappearance at Newcastle last month, so he's worth chancing from stall 2. His stablemate Yazaman, a recent winner, is an obvious danger and Opal Storm merits consideration.

Several have possibilities but the vote goes to OPAL STORM, who was an eyecatching fourth over C&D on her recent stable debut.

There could also be more to come from Sea Girt, who reverts to turf on a handy mark and warrants close inspection in the betting on his first start back after wind surgery.

WE STILL BELIEVE is taken to reverse recent course placings with Ledger, with this longer trip in his favour. Dogged lurks on a good mark back down in grade and could be ready for a revival in re-fitted headgear.

Ledger beat WE STILL BELIEVE here 12 days ago but the latter may be able to turn the tables over this longer trip.

C&D winner ONE LAST TANGO can strike for Kilkenny trainer Eoin Griffin. The seven-year-old easily landed a competitive handicap hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas before running respectively in mid division in a couple of stronger contests after. The gelding should appreciate returning to somewhat calmer waters here. Feet Of A Dancer, winner of both her previous starts at this venue, looks a mare on the upgrade. The Paul Nolan-trained five-year-old ran a big race when third in an ultra competitive mares handicap hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival last time. The Greek would be of definite interest on his return to hurdling if fit after an absence.

Already a 3-time winner over hurdles FEET OF A DANCER showed further improvement faced with her sternest assignment yet when third in a listed handicap at Leopardstown back in February. Appealing as the type who could do better still, she looks a solid option eased back down in trip. The Short Go on return to action and Dark Note are others to consider, with Diamond Nora likely capable of better also.

EMBARKED put in a bold display from the front to only be beaten two lengths into second at Newmarket earlier in the month and he goes off an unchanged rating. James Fanshawe's six-year-old should have no issues with the step back up in trip and he can go one better. Kynsa hit the frame at Thirsk on her latest outing and first-time cheekpieces could eke out more, so she has to be respected. Uncle Dick is another to note.

EMBARKED produced his best effort of the season when runner-up to an improver at Newmarket 12 days ago and he can build on that effort to resume winning ways. Tea Sea ended last year in good heart and isn't taken lightly on his return, while Kynsa has made the frame on her last 4 starts and completes the shortlist.

A trappy race in which EMBARKED is tentatively preferred to Cariad and Uncle Dick.

HAARAR has been busy of late switching between codes and he must hold every chance on the back of a taking success at Southwell last time. A 7lb penalty will make life tougher, but he should have too much for Eaton Anne, who showed plenty of promise himself when third at the same track on his Rules debut. Kingston Narcissus is another open to improvement on just his second start for the Rebecca Menzies yard.

This can go to HAARAR, who did well to get there given his inexperience was still evident at Southwell just over a fortnight ago and with further progress on the cards, Sam England's charge can get the better of Eaton Anne, who showed plenty of ability on his Rules debut at that same track earlier this month. Mandega and Kingston Narcissus are also both interesting and can fight out third.

The suggestion is former French Flat-racer KINGSTON NARCISSUS, who ran well for a long way on his recent hurdling debut.

Having finished runner-up on her last two starts, TINGARRAN EXPRESS can get back to winning ways. The Denise O'Shea-trained mare beat a subsequent winner at Clonmel in April, before finding just one too good on her most recent outings. A strong traveller, the seven-year-old should be right at home around this tight track. The lightly raced Bigira ran her best race to date latest when staying on to finish third of 14 at Kilbeggan. Mark Fahey's mare shouldn't be too far away here. Toon Town, who kept on strongly after the last when a nearest at the finish third here earlier this month, is another that should make his presence felt in what looks a competitive affair for the grade.

TINGARRAN EXPRESS has just the one win to her name but she ran another solid race when chasing home an unexposed rival at Clonmel 13 days ago (clear of rest) and she looks a sound player once again in this groove. Bigira, Trishknowsbest and Toon Town are others to consider, whilst it's unlikely we've seen the best of Divilabother just yet.

Preference is for the consistent TINGARRAN EXPRESS, who should be better suited to this trip than the 2m3f at Clonmel last time.

MELISENDE was denied by just under a length into second on her handicap debut at Yarmouth last month and she goes off the same mark. With William Buick booked and the possibility of more to come, she could prove very hard to beat. The main threat is Bint Havana Gold, who hit the frame over C&D last time and it would be no surprise to see her get involved, while Soldier's Class is another to consider.

Stall 10 may not be ideal for THUNDER FLOW but he's a lightly-raced type for a leading yard and he's shaped a couple of times as though potentially better than this sort of mark. Ten Club may resume his progress back on the AW, with Hearitfortheboys also considered.

Thunder Flow and Hearitfortheboys are high on the list but CRAFTY SPIRIT has the look of a big improver now he's handicapping.

The eight-year-old is the only last-time-out winner in the field, and he may have enough to see off Callin Baton Rouge, who performed with some credit when second over further at Fontwell. Completing the shortlist are the likes of Bushmill Boy, Calevade and My Brother Jack.

A tricky selling handicap but TOSCAN GENIUS caught the eye on his qualifying run in a Sedgefield novice 3 weeks ago, noted finishing with running left and, going handicapping at a low level, he could be worth siding with to confirm the promise showed then. Last year's winner Calevade, Callin Baton Rouge and Ruler of The River are others to consider.

Philip Kirby's CLEAN GETAWAY went down fighting when second in this race last year and might go one better today.

SUNWALK may improve sufficiently from his recent reappearance fifth over course and distance to play a leading role. The Seamus Neville-trained six-year-old was always prominent and only weakened from the second last flight. With that run under his belt, the gelding should be that bit sharper now. Although an infrequent winner, Future Proof has to enter calculations for the in-form Philip Rothwell stable. Twice successful on the level, the nine-year-old has yet to add to his sole win over hurdles. He will find few easier opportunities than the one he is presented with here. Mullins Cross has been running well enough of late to suggest that she, too, can get involved at the business end.

Perhaps one of the handicap newcomers can take a step forward, with GLASGOW DAN the suggestion after catching the eye in a couple of his qualifying runs. Desert Cave and Darcy's Friend are other handicap debutants to monitor closely in the market, while Shark Hanlon's Mullins Cross should also be competitive on the back of a decent effort at Downpatrick recently.

SUNWALK wasn't beaten far on soft over C&D last time and the better ground today can suit, so he could get off the mark over hurdles.

Eternal Spring (sixth) can overturn the form with Lady Flora (fifth) from their meeting over 7f here last month, as that was the former's debut effort and she has shown improvement to finish third the last twice. However, they could both be up against it to deny CERVARO DELLA SALA, who occupied the runner-up spot over 7f at Lingfield last time and should have no issues with this drop in distance. The daughter of Bungle Inthejungle has plenty of experience and can put that to good use.

CERVARO DELLA SALA is pretty exposed after 7 starts but the level she's achieved in that time is in advance of the opposition here so a first win could be forthcoming. Lady Flora and Eternal Spring are the viable threats.

Having gone close at Lingfield last week, CERVARO DELLA SALA is taken to get off the mark at the eighth attempt.

A highly-progressive sort last year, IMPERIAL DATA returned from a 202-day absence with a decent effort at Hexham when staying on late in the day for fifth. That gave the distinct impression he would enjoy a step up in trip and he gets that opportunity now, with the unexposed Tactical Affair looking best placed to chase him home. Hurricane Ali and Our Laura B cannot be ruled out either.

TACTICAL AFFAIR may have disappointed at Ffos Las on his latest outing, but it remains early days for his current yard so he's well worth another chance upped to a trip that should suit as he makes his handicap debut. Imperial Data made an encouraging reappearance at Hexham 18 days ago and is respected, with Our Laura B also considered back down in distance.

This can go to IMPERIAL DATA (nap), who returned from a break with a satisfactory recent run and may now resume his autumn progress.

With the Paul Nolan string having really hit form in the last couple of weeks, CUT THE ROPE could gain his first success over hurdles. A bumper win at Naas on his racecourse debut last January, the five-year-old has twice filled the runner-up position since going jumping. Having run really well in a maiden on the flat last time, the son of Sea The Stars looks the one to beat. Dual French winner Innatendue has yet to get her head in front in this country but has shaped with promise on more than one occasion. The John McConnell-trained mare appears to have leading claims. Slim Marvel, who only lost out by a nose at this track last November, shouldn't be far away on her return visit.

CUT THE ROPE ran well on the Flat at Gowran last month and gets the nod back hurdling for Paul Nolan. Innatendue has had a few chances but is more than capable of going close in a race like this and is second choice ahead of Andrew Slattery's Slim Marvel.

A recent Flat run at Gowran suggests that CUT THE ROPE is in good shape. His hurdles form is sufficiently strong to win him the vote

CHANGE SINGS was always in control when scoring from the front at Newmarket recently and a 4lb rise could prove lenient as he looks to follow up at a track where he is unbeaten in two starts. A winner of four of his last five outings, Buraback is another who arrives in top form and must surely go close along with One More Wave, who has strong claims on his penultimate second over C&D.

ILIKEDWAYURTHINKIN had excuses for being well beaten in this grade at Kelso earlier in the month and the handicapper may have been kind to drop him 4lb for that effort. Ben Haslam's veteran lurks on an appealing mark and he gets the nod, with his main threat possibly being Boomslang, who finished second in a maiden hurdle at Hexham last time and could remain competitive back in the handicap ranks. Of the remainder, Finisk River makes the most appeal under Brian Hughes.

A chance is taken on the return of headgear sparking ILIKEDWAYURTHINKIN back to life, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Boomslang is respected on the back of his second in a maiden at Hexham earlier this month, while Court Dreaming is still capable off this sort of mark if on a going day.

The 7yo YUKON wouldn't be suited by much rain but good to soft would be okay and he went close at this meeting 12 months ago.

19:30 Wexford Conditions Hurdle 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

Despite having questions to answer now after failing to complete on his three most recent starts, the Paul Nolan-trained JOYEUX MACHIN looks the one to beat. Twice a winner at this venue, the seven-year-old seems to reserve his best for his local track where he rarely runs a bad race. Antrim Coast was just denied over this trip at Cheltenham in October, having won his maiden over 2m4f on his previous start. The Gavin Cromwell-trained six-year-old has leading claims. Oscars Brother was impressive when winning his maiden hurdle over this distance at Limerick before running respectably in two subsequent starts. The more rain that comes the stronger his chances of providing Connor King with a first winner in the training ranks.

ANTRIM COAST's third at Punchestown is the best piece of recent form on offer and a performance of similar merit should be enough to land this. Rocky's Diamond is open to further progress and looks the main danger, while Pray Tell isn't without hope.

Sire Blue Point has been having a good time of things recently and it can pay to side with his newcomer INGOT, whose mother Integral won her first two starts. The Cheveley Park-owned colt is narrowly preferred to Cavallo Bay, who is by star juvenile Pinatubo, who recently sired his first winner at York. The Ralph Beckett stable can do little wrong at present and Chelsea Embankment is another to note.

CAVALLO BAY makes plenty of appeal on paper and with his leading yard having made a bright start with their juveniles, he could be the way to go before the benefit of market clues. Similar comments apply to Ingot and he merits respect for John & Thady Gosden. Brindavan rates a likely improver having showed ability on debut at Newmarket 10 days ago.

Hott Shott and Ingot are respected newcomers but so too is CAVALLO BAY. He can continue the stable's hot streak.

Stuart Coltherd's seven-year-old could prove tough to beat if he runs to the level again. His main danger might be Sword Of Fate, who was beaten just over a length when attempting to make all over 2m4f at Perth on his latest outing and he should remain competitive off the same mark, while Guillaume is another to note.

SWORD OF FATE is handicapped to win and, having bounced back to form at Perth last time, he's fancied to add another C&D success to his record. Augharue is a danger if in the same form as last time and Grand Soufle is an interesting chasing debutant for a trainer that does well at his local track.

Ex-Irish maiden LIBBY seems to have been aided by a visor lately and might be ready to exploit her reduced mark.

MAHLER APPEAL, a winner here over fences on his latest start, appeals off a 12lb lower mark back over flights. The Garrett Power-trained eight-year-old was recording a first win under rules but he had previously been successful in a point-to-point. With his stamina assured and a proven liking for this trip, the gelding looks a leading contender under Sean Flanagan. Three By Two, who finished runner-up in the La Touche last time, should appreciate this lesser emphasis on stamina. The mare is relatively lightly raced under rules so has scope for improvement. Recent course and distance winner Plain Or Battered has an additional 7lb to carry as a result but should again be competitive.

FLICKER OF HOPE justified strong support with an improved showing to score at Clonmel recently and this extra distance should be no issue, so he's capable of following up at the possible expense of Doyen Flyer, who is also open to further progress. Mahler Appeal is respected, too.

SPATMAN DE CERISY showed improved form raised to this trip at Tipperary last time and should have more to give off the same mark.

20:12 Kempton Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Sayifyouwill makes the shortlist with her four C&D victories, the latest off 2lb higher. Bigger Than Giga won her maiden here and is another to take seriously after her Yarmouth third, but FAIR ANGELLICA could be the one. The winner of her first three starts, she was only beaten a length at Goodwood off 2lb lower where the soft ground appeared to blunt her speed, so a return to the all-weather could be ideal.

SHIN JIDAI and Bigger Than Giga were first and third respectively in a race that is working out well at Yarmouth 4 weeks ago and could be the pair to focus on, the former narrowly preferred to confirm the placings on these revised terms. Fair Angellica and Lou Lou's Gift are another low-mileage pair to keep on side.

Just a respectable third over hurdles on stable debut and unseated rider on chase debut.

20:20 Cartmel Handicap Chase (Class 3) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Useful hurdler DREAL DEAL has found his stride over the larger obstacles of late and despite having to concede 19lb all round, John McConnell's gelding is hard to oppose. The way in which he travelled into contention at Wexford 11 days ago would suggest he has plenty more in the locker, and he's preferred to Glynn, who should be more streetwise having unseated on his fencing bow last month. Kilta can chase the pair home.

Irish raider DREAL DEAL impressed with the manner of his victory at Wexford last month and should prove up to successfully conceding weight all round here. Kilta made a really encouraging start to life in handicap hurdles and rates the main threat despite racing from out of the weights, although Glynn isn't fully ruled out on the pick of his hurdles form.

The most obvious answer is DREAL DEAL, who is 2-3 since returned to chasing this spring and did it pretty easily at Wexford last time.

The locally-trained LOVELY HURLING can win this finale for Colm Murphy. Although only seventh on his recent racecourse debut at Fairyhouse, the gelding could have finished much closer but for a bad mistake two out. It would be no surprise to see him take a significant step forward here under John Gleeson. Dacman, a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Sir Gerhard, has to be of obvious interest. Willie Mullins does particularly well with the horses he runs in bumpers at this track so the hint should be taken. Point-to-point winner Mic Drop made an encouraging introduction when third at Tipperary recently. He should appreciate stepping up an additional two furlongs now.

DACMAN makes plenty of appeal on paper as a half-brother to smart hurdler/very smart chaser Sir Gerhard and he's very much of interest on bumper debut for his powerful stable. Mic Drop and Serious Chat are others fancied to be thereabouts, with Lovely Hurling and Beaufort Scale others to keep an eye on.

MRS TWIG came unstuck in this grade when fourth at Newbury off the same mark, but she won over C&D last month and may get back to winning ways returning to the all-weather. Gold Aura deserves a win after numerous placed efforts and is hard to ignore, though Red Dwarf gets on well with Silvestre De Sousa and could be the bigger danger sitting at the bottom of the handicap.

POLAR PRINCESS wasn't at her best at Chester 3 weeks ago but her consistency was hard to knock on artificial surfaces previously and she shades the vote to quickly bounce back with Oisin Murphy an eye-catching booking. Gold Aura and Red Dwarf are others to consider in an open-looking finale.

An open race in which the vote goes to RED DWARF, who came good when beating a clear second at Southwell last month.

Four-time winner since finishing second in this race a year ago; ought to be hard to beat.

Confirmed that promise when successful at Hexham since, albeit it was nowhere near his best form. Kept on well to win at Hexham last month and has a significant role to play here.

This does at least represent a drop in class on hunter debut. Regressive in handicaps last season but could be dangerous at this easier level.

Second in two hunter chases in recent months but has become very inconsistent.

GABORIOT arrives in better form than when filling the runner-up spot in this race 12 months ago, having won at Cheltenham recently. Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero's gelding must hold every chance, although the Hexham winner Jerrysback should give him plenty to think about. Amenon was on target at Huntingdon eight days ago and he is no back number, while Windsor Avenue must also enter calculations.

GABORIOT posted win number 4 since the autumn at Cheltenham 3 weeks ago and this versatile performer is fancied to successfully concede weight all round. Jerrysback probably didn't have much to beat at Hexham but he's still a huge threat, with Windsor Avenue also considered.

This looks another good opportunity for GABORIOT, who has made very good progress since finishing second in this event a year ago.
