Foursome |
(6) (5/1 -11%)5/1(-11%) | (6) Foursome 5/1, Remains a maiden after 19 Flat runs. 11/2, creditable fourth of 12 in handicap at Leicester (1½m, good) 20 days ago. Exposed maiden; running creditably this season but others appeal more for win purposes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (5) (7.5/1 -7%) Sir Joseph Swan |
7.5/1(-7%) | (5) Sir Joseph Swan 7.5/1, Did too much too soon over 2m at Doncaster last time. Back down in trip and represents last year's winning trainer/jockey combination. No surprise were he to go well. Two 1m6f wins for A Perrett last year; not fired in 2 runs for new yard; capable but risky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4.5/1 -29%) Dereham |
4.5/1(-29%) | (2) Dereham 4.5/1, C&D winner. Back to winning ways at Newmarket (2m, good, 17/2) 41 days ago. Ought to remain competitive up 3 lb. Strong stayer; C&D winner; comes here on the back of a Newmarket win; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (1.75/1 +13%) Daaris |
1.75/1(+13%) | (1) Daaris 1.75/1, Blinkered first time, career best when winning 10-runner handicap at Nottingham (1¾m, good to soft, 11/1) 32 days ago. The second has run well since and another bold show is likely of the headgear continues to have a positive effect. Impressive tried in blinkers at Nottingham last month (1m6f, good); 6lb higher but feared. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (8/1 +27%) Pledge Of Peace |
8/1(+27%) | (7) Pledge Of Peace 8/1, Sixth of 9 in handicap at Bath (11.5f, good to firm, 11/1) 35 days ago, doing too much too soon. Second over this C&D prior to that. Exposed maiden; ran well over C&D in June but less good latest; others look safer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (7/1 +13%) Yakhabar |
7/1(+13%) | (4) Yakhabar 7/1, Fair maiden. Respectable fifth of 10 in handicap at York (2m, good, 66/1) 11 days ago. Not progressing but low mileage and this is easier than last time; ground a question mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (11/1 +50%) Alpha King |
11/1(+50%) | (3) Alpha King 11/1, Irresolute performer. Course winner. Struggled over hurdles prior to finishing well held over 1¼m here back on the Flat last week. Eyeshields on first time and up significantly in trip. Wide-margin winner over 11.5f here last summer; largely poor form since; risky but capable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Archie Watson and Brodie Hampson teamed up to win this last year and will look to follow up with Sir Joseph Swan, but a place may be the best he can hope for in this field. Dereham is a C&D winner who stays even further and he can go close after winning a better race at Newmarket in June, but DAARIS is the pick. Kevin Frost's gelding won easily over this trip at Nottingham in July and may do the same, despite an additional 6lb from the handicapper.
DAARIS reacted positively to blinkers at Nottingham last time and might be up to defying a rise in the weights if the headgear works as well a second time. It's probably only a matter of time before Sir Joseph Swan clicks for the Archie Watson yard and he's second choice ahead of last-time-out Newmarket scorer Dereham.
Daaris is respected after an easy win last month but DEREHAM (nap), an in-form C&D winner, looks a better option.

1st (5) (12/1 -9%) Queen's Guard |
12/1(-9%) | (5) Queen's Guard 12/1, Once-raced filly. Fourth of 7 in minor event at Doncaster (6f, soft, 2/1) on debut 18 days ago. Open to progress, so can't be ruled out for all that she has a bit to find. Couldn't justify favouritism on Doncaster debut but shaped well and capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (25/1 +24%) Run For The Sun |
25/1(+24%) | (6) Run For The Sun 25/1, Foaled January 27. €7,000 foal, €170,000 2-y-o, Make Believe filly. Half-sister to 1m winner Garrick Painter and 2-y-o 6f winner Groszek. Dam, maiden (stayed 7f), sister to useful 2-y-o 6f winner (stayed 1m) Terror. Interesting newcomer. 170,000euros 2yo; half-sister to two winners; likely one for further down the line. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (0.53/1 +27%) Dubai Treasure |
0.53/1(+27%) | (1) Dubai Treasure 0.53/1, Promising type. Second of 10 in maiden at Newmarket (6f, good to firm, 7/1) on debut 27 days ago. Sets a good standard and there's more to come, so clearly the one to beat. Debut Newmarket 2nd has been handsomely franked; obvious chance if handling slower ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (16/1 +0%) Suicide Blonde |
16/1(+0%) | (7) Suicide Blonde 16/1, Once-raced filly. Seventh of 10 in maiden at Newmarket (6f, good to firm, 14/1) on debut 27 days ago. Much more required. Only seventh of ten in Newmarket maiden in which Dubai Treasure finished second on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (4/1 -60%) Faithful Springs |
4/1(-60%) | (2) Faithful Springs 4/1, Promising individual. Fifth of 9 in minor event (6/1) at Newmarket (7f, good) on debut 19 days ago, not knocked about. Should have learned plenty from that educational start, so likely to be on the premises. Promise amidst inexperience when midfield at Newmarket (7f) last month; can do much better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (200/1 -300%) Urban Love |
200/1(-300%) | (8) Urban Love 200/1, Foaled April 11. Street Sense filly. Half-sister to useful 7f winner Golden Spice. Unllikely to be fully wound up first time out. Bred to have a future but stable yet to hit the target with 2yos this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (5/1 +64%) Fariha |
5/1(+64%) | (3) Fariha 5/1, Foaled February 8. Shamardal filly. Half-sister to smart winner up to 1m Al Mubhir and 1m winner Dubawi Warrior. Dam winner up to 9f (2-y-o 7f winner). One to take seriously on debut. Half-sister to two winners out of Group 3 winner; useful standard to aim at; check market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (50/1 +0%) Forgotten Treasure |
50/1(+0%) | (4) Forgotten Treasure 50/1, Foaled February 10. Ten Sovereigns filly. Dam, 2-y-o 7f winner (stayed 1m), closely related to useful 2-y-o 5f winner Southern Hills. Wears hood. Dam a useful 7f 2yo winner; hooded for debut; useful standard to aim at. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (50/1 -25%) Volkan Bey |
50/1(-25%) | (9) Volkan Bey 50/1, Foaled April 24. €150,000 2-y-o, Calyx filly. Half-sister to 6f/7f winner Lord Luker and useful 7f winner Sixteen Arches. Dam unraced, half-sister to smart 5f winner Tournedos. Interesting newcomer for shrewd connections. 150,000euros 2yo; half-sister to two winners but likely one for later on. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
With very little form to go on, DUBAI TREASURE stands out after the daughter of Exceed And Excel was a promising second at Newmarket on her debut. The winner had an experience edge that day and has won again since to frank the form, and any improvement may see her get off the mark. Queen's Guard was sent off favourite on her Doncaster debut before weakening into fourth and she may do better now, while Urban Love looks an interesting newcomer.
DUBAI TREASURE's debut second is working out extremely well and she's likely to improve from it, so she's an obvious choice to open her account at the second attempt. Fariha makes plenty of appeal on paper and Run For The Sun is another notable newcomer considering how much her price rose from foal to 2yo.
Queen's Guard can step up on her debut form but DUBAI TREASURE ran well in a hot Newmarket maiden on debut and can go one better.

1st (6) (1.75/1 +56%) Between The Covers |
1.75/1(+56%) | (6) Between The Covers 1.75/1, Twice-raced filly. Third of 6 in minor event at Lingfield (9f, heavy, 11/8) 4 days ago. May well do better. Possibilities. Couldn't reward market support on Saturday when green; new trip should suit; unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (3.5/1 -27%) Emperor's Clothes |
3.5/1(-27%) | (1) Emperor's Clothes 3.5/1, Twice-raced gelding, off 5 months before very good second of 5 in minor event (5/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 21 days ago. One to consider. Placed in two AW runs over shorter; should stay this far and he's capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (3.5/1 -75%) Sindri |
3.5/1(-75%) | (4) Sindri 3.5/1, Promising individual. 2/1, fourth of 7 in maiden at Kempton (11f) on debut. Off 112 days. Open to improvement so this New Approach filly holds very good claims. Beaten fav on AW debut in April (1m3f) but that race has worked out OK; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (50/1 +0%) Oyamal |
50/1(+0%) | (3) Oyamal 50/1, Lightly-raced gelding. First run since leaving Owen Burrows when eleventh of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 33/1) 15 days ago. Makes turf debut. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Tailed off in Class 6 AW handicap on recent stable debut; cheekpieces not enough to tempt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (2.75/1 +8%) Owners Dream |
2.75/1(+8%) | (2) Owners Dream 2.75/1, Fair colt. In good form until coming in only eighth of 10 in handicap at Doncaster (11.9f, soft, 17/2) 18 days ago, slowly away. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Sort to bounce back. Penultimate run was solid enough but ran poorly upped to 1m4f latest; headgear on now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (40/1 -21%) Trinidad Calypso |
40/1(-21%) | (5) Trinidad Calypso 40/1, Sixth of 7 in minor event (22/1) at Nottingham (10.2f, heavy) on debut 19 days ago, not knocked about. Needs to build on it. 22-1 and well beaten in a fillies' novice at Nottingham 19 days ago (1m2f, soft). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Emperor's Clothes is hard to ignore after placing on both of his starts to date but he has to give 5lb to SINDRI, which may make the difference. Fourth at Kempton on her debut, she set the pace that day before weakening late on and Michael Bell's filly should be suited by this drop in trip. Between The Covers is another to consider after her Lingfield third and she could also mount a challenge.
SINDRI made a promising start when fourth at Kempton and Michael Bell's New Approach filly is fancied to build on it and go in at the chief expense of Owners Dream, who is taken to bounce back from a below-par Doncaster handicap run now returned to maiden company. Emperor's Clothes can't be discounted either on the back of his good Wolverhampton second.
Unexposed fillies Between The Covers and SINDRI may fight this out and the selection is open to plenty of improvement.

1st (6) (5.5/1 +8%) Lailah |
5.5/1(+8%) | (6) Lailah 5.5/1, Modest filly. 11/4, bit below form sixth of 10 in handicap at Bath (13f, good) 28 days ago. Not yet exposed and this represents a slight drop in class. Has shown promise, including C&D, and drops in grade today; unraced on slower than good. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (28/1 -100%) Send In The Clouds |
28/1(-100%) | (8) Send In The Clouds 28/1, Modest gelding. One win from 26 Flat runs. Good second of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (10f, good to firm, 4/1) 14 days ago. Should give it another good shot. In fair form at a low level but new trip tonight & he could do with the ground drying out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (9/1 -125%) Flammable |
9/1(-125%) | (10) Flammable 9/1, Respectable fourth of 13 in handicap (11/1) at Bath (10.2f, good to soft) 14 days ago. Cheekpieces on first time and she's unexposed compared to many of these. Well bred but little impact on the track so far; headgear on now down to 0-50 level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (0.73/1 +58%) Hourless |
0.73/1(+58%) | (11) Hourless 0.73/1, Modest gelding. Very good second of 7 in juvenile hurdle (6/4) at Newton Abbot (16.8f, good to soft) 17 days ago, closing all way to line. Major player back on the level. Flat and hurdle winner and comes here on the up; leading claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (50/1 -213%) Rushmore |
50/1(-213%) | (7) Rushmore 50/1, Modest gelding. One win from 25 Flat runs. Nineteen runs since last win in 2021. 17/2, last of 8 in handicap at this course (10.1f, good) 28 days ago. Cheekpieces on first time. Others more persuasive. 0-19 for this yard & recent efforts haven't suggested he was ready to strike; headgear now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (22/1 -267%) Eljaytee |
22/1(-267%) | (4) Eljaytee 22/1, Winner here on reappearance in April. Bit below form fourth of 9 in minor event at this course (10.1f, good to soft, 9/2) 21 days ago, though wasn't seen to best effect. Looks ready for this trip. Headgear off. 1m2f winner here on soft in April; less good since; up in trip with usual headgear off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (12/1 +25%) Knight Of Kings |
12/1(+25%) | (5) Knight Of Kings 12/1, Modest gelding. Seventh of 10 in handicap (10/1) at Newcastle (16.2f) 11 days ago. Down in trip with tongue strap back on. Missed 2022 and he hasn't fired this year; should be making an impact at this level though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (66/1 +18%) Anger Management |
66/1(+18%) | (2) Anger Management 66/1, 25/1, pulled up in handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (15.8f, good to soft). Off 6 months. Cheekpieces back on returned to the level. Winning hurdler; poor form on Flat; absent six months; easy to swerve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (22/1 -10%) Vertical |
22/1(-10%) | (9) Vertical 22/1, Seemed to fail for stamina when eleventh of 13 in handicap at Windsor (11.4f, good to firm, 8/1) 65 days ago. Unconvincing but snippets of form that give her claims at this low level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (8.5/1 +29%) Analytics |
8.5/1(+29%) | (1) Analytics 8.5/1, Backed at long odds but failed to back up previous form when seventh of 10 in handicap (8/1) at Kempton (11f) 56 days ago. Little solid form but early days and in good hands; stable also run Knight Of Kings. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
In a moderate contest, it might pay to focus on the pair of unexposed three-year-olds Hourless and FLAMMABLE, of whom the latter is preferred. She kept on well to finish within five lengths of the principals over 1m2f at Bath a fortnight ago, suggesting a further step up in trip could suit, and the addition of first-time cheekpieces can eke out more progression. Lailah appeals most of the remainder.
HOURLESS is a very interesting runner at this level based on his winning juvenile form over hurdles, and in receipt of weight from most, he has a lot going for him. Fellow 3-y-o Flammable has headgear on for the first time and is a threat, along with Lailah.
The 3yos Flammable and HOURLESS look capable of better and the selection looks the safer option.

(8) (25/1 -25%)25/1(-25%) | (8) Mick's Spirit 25/1, Seventh of 9 in handicap (12/1) at Chelmsford City (5f) 48 days ago, doing too much too soon from his wide draw. Given a chance by the assessor back on turf. Four-time AW winner; turf ability hard to gauge, especially away from fast ground. |

1st (5) (1.62/1 +60%) Razzam |
1.62/1(+60%) | (5) Razzam 1.62/1, Ran up to form taking on his elders for the first time when third of 11 in handicap (7/1) at Nottingham (6.1f, good to soft) 32 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Roger Varian but joined another good yard. Consistent for R Varian; still low mileage; sold for 38,000gns last month; down in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (6/1 +57%) Munificent |
6/1(+57%) | (10) Munificent 6/1, C&D winner. Bit below form fourth of 8 in handicap (6/1) at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 29 days ago, never nearer having taken a bit of a grip. C&D winner in April (0-52 handicap); held on AW twice since; others more appealing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (3/1 +45%) Sarah's Verse |
3/1(+45%) | (1) Sarah's Verse 3/1, Confirmed return to form when second of 7 in handicap at Ascot (5f, good to soft) 12 days ago, running on. Tendency to blow the start a worry but this is a drop in class. Beat 16 rivals at Bath in April; good 2nd at Ascot last time; should be involved once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (18/1 -50%) Diomed Spirit |
18/1(-50%) | (7) Diomed Spirit 18/1, AW winner last summer but just a respectable fifth of 11 in handicap at this C&D (good) 28 days ago. AW maiden winner; consistent without looking ahead of the handicapper; needs more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (9/1 -100%) Cabeza De Llave |
9/1(-100%) | (6) Cabeza De Llave 9/1, Won 3 times in 2022 and stepped up on his reappearance when second of 7 in handicap at Sandown (5f, soft, 20/1) 13 days ago. Has good chance from the same mark. Three wins in 2022; good second at Sandown last time; each-way claims off same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (5/1 +23%) Regal Envoy |
5/1(+23%) | (3) Regal Envoy 5/1, Seventh of 11 in handicap at this C&D (good, 5/2) 28 days ago. That was disappointing having returned to form when runner-up at Bath prior to that. Disappointing when fav over C&D last month; earlier form gives him claims; ground a query. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (18/1 -50%) Amor De Mi Vida |
18/1(-50%) | (4) Amor De Mi Vida 18/1, Unreliable type. C&D winner. 18/1, fifth of 7 in handicap at Chepstow (5.1f, good to soft) 12 days ago, turning it in. Clearly a risky proposition. Form dipped on good to soft last time; needs to dry out quickly for her to win. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Mick Appleby often does well with his new recruits and that trend could continue with RAZZAM. The gelded son of Showcasing hit the frame on his final start for Roger Varian, where he was too keen over 6f. If the drop in trip sees him in a better light, the unexposed three-year-old could get back on track. Amor De Mi Vida and Harry With Style must enter calculations, while market support for the Chelsea Banham-trained Munificent would bring him into the reckoning.
CABEZA DE LLAVE left his reappearance run well behind when second at Sandown a fortnight ago and from the same mark a bold bid to go one place better looks assured. Mick's Spirit and Razzam (starting out for a new yard) head the opposition.
Cabeza De Llave ran well last time but HARRY WITH STYLE is on the up and he may be able to register his third win of the campaign.

10th (10) (2.5/1 +50%) Tammany Hall |
2.5/1(+50%) | (10) Tammany Hall 2.5/1, One win from 33 Flat runs. First run since leaving P. J. McKenna when second of 6 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, heavy, 10/3) 4 days ago, just denied. Obvious claims off same mark. Went desperately close at Lingfield on Saturday's stable debut; dangerous with a repeat. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
TAMMANY HALL made a promising start for the Phil McEntee team when narrowly denied at Lingfield four days ago. He has become extremely well treated judged on past exploits and this looks a good opportunity to go one better. Bomb Squad ought to appreciate the drop back from seven furlongs and he ranks highly in this field, while Enchanted Night should also be thereabouts.
TAMMANY HALL made a promising start for this yard when just denied at Lingfield on Saturday and has obvious claims off the same mark. Fantasy Navigator and Bomb Squad are feared most.
Bomb Squad should be in the thick of it but GATWICK KITTEN gets the nod back down in grade.
Ths is the racecard key.
