|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Voominator |
(2) (6/1 +8%)6/1(+8%) | (2) The Voominator 6/1, Twice-raced maiden. Sixth of 11 in maiden at Southwell (6f, 11/2) 24 days ago. Well-held sixth in both his runs and needs to find plenty of progress. |

Polk Salad Annie |
(9) (50/1 +24%)50/1(+24%) | (9) Polk Salad Annie 50/1, 100/1, eleventh of 12 in C&D maiden on debut 26 days ago, very slowly away. Missed the break and finished tailed off at 100-1 over C&D last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SUNDIATA KEITA stepped up on his pleasing debut performance when a half-length third at Newcastle and, with further improvement on the cards, he rates the one to beat. Sun Keeper wasn't devoid of promise on her introduction over C&D and she could progress to take a hand in the finish here, while The Voominator also has a squeak for Craig Lidster and Jason Hart.
A repeat of the form SUNDIATA KEITA showed at Newcastle last time may be good enough for him to make it third time lucky. Sun Keeper is open to progress on the back of last month's C&D debut and is second choice ahead of Echo of Glory.
This looks a good opportunity for SUNDIATA KEITA, who sets a clear standard on his close third at Newcastle two weeks ago.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SOLDIERS STAR lost little in defeat when a short-head second over this trip at Newcastle three weeks ago and natural improvement could see him go one better. That said, Sunlit Uplands and Trouble Man also went desperately close to making winning debuts and they are obvious threats. Rye certainly isn't out of it either having progressed from her first to her second start.
SUNLIT UPLANDS caught the eye finishing with a flourish under just hands-and-heels riding on her Chelmsford debut and looks the way to go with improvement on the cards. Trouble Man and Soldiers Star are considered the main threats.
This can be narrowed down to three who went close on debut, with SUNLIT UPLANDS preferred to Soldiers Star and Trouble Man.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
EDGE OFTHE UNKNOWN showed a likeable attitude when making a winning debut over 1m at Newcastle last month and, with this longer trip unlikely to pose any problems, he is fancied to follow up under a penalty. Jiff's Army has placed on his last three starts over 7f and he warrants respect stepping up in distance, while Perfect Life could build on his encouraging introductory third at Southwell.
EDGE OFTHE UNKNOWN made a winning start at Newcastle last month and with progress very much on the cards she can make light of a 7 lb penalty. Ollie Sangster's Kentucky River could emerge as the main danger if, as expected, building on his debut Chelmsford fifth, with Perfect Life and Arundel appealing as the pick of the remainder.
This can go to EDGE OFTHE UNKNOWN who got his career off to a good start at Newcastle and should have plenty more to offer.

No Surrender |
(8) (10/3 +17%)10/3(+17%) | (8) No Surrender 10/3, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, good second of 9 in handicap (9/2) at Lingfield (10f, AW) 18 days ago, running on. Back up in trip. Could be the way to go. In good form on AW lately, going close over 1m2f latest; player if as effective at 1m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Something |
(11) (9/2 +25%)9/2(+25%) | (11) Something 9/2, Back-to-back winner of handicaps at Newcastle in October and dispelled a lesser creditable second of 11 in handicap at this C&D 16 days ago, headed final 1f and staying on. Fancied to be on the premises. Made all twice at Newcastle in October and second over C&D latest; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Optician |
(12) (13/2 +13%)13/2(+13%) | (12) Optician 13/2, 4-time C&D winner. 3 wins from 12 runs this year. Good second of 10 in handicap at this course (14f, 14/1) 14 days ago. Can give another good account. Four C&D wins last winter; creditable second over 1m6f here latest; in the mix again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Knockbrex |
(4) (7/1 -27%)7/1(-27%) | (4) Knockbrex 7/1, 10f winner as a 3-y-o who arrives having run creditably when fourth of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f, 11/2) 37 days ago. Shaped like a return to this longer trip was worth exploring then and he comes here from a career-low mark. Fresh for time of year and latest 1m2f Chelmsford fourth respectable; not dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Wiltshire Wonder |
(6) (8/1 +0%)8/1(+0%) | (6) Wiltshire Wonder 8/1, Fair bumper winner and improved when winning 9-runner handicap at Southwell (12.1f) in October. Not in same form when sixth of 8 in handicap at Kempton (12f, 8/1) 38 days ago, weakening from 2f out. Winning handicap debut at Southwell (1m4f) in October but well held at Kempton since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Lexington Knight |
(3) (10/1 +9%)10/1(+9%) | (3) Lexington Knight 10/1, 3-time C&D winner. Seventh of 8 in handicap at this C&D (28/1) 33 days ago, needing stronger gallop and plugging on close home. Mark has eased and better showing certainly not ruled out. Not obviously at top of his game but mark coming down and he's a three-time C&D winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ma Belle Artiste |
(2) (10/1 +17%)10/1(+17%) | (2) Ma Belle Artiste 10/1, Dual winner on Flat for Joseph O'Brien. More miss than hit over hurdles earlier this year but showed benefit of recent spin on Flat when second of 7 in handicap at Catterick (12.1f, heavy) 39 days ago, that despite losing her place around 4f out. Each-way claims again. Career back on track when second over 1m4f on turf latest; first AW start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Skye Breeze |
(5) (10/1 -150%)10/1(-150%) | (5) Skye Breeze 10/1, Back-to-back winner of AW handicaps (both at around 1½m) earlier this year. Far from disgraced next 2 starts and easy to forgive his midfield York run in May having been left poorly placed. All 4 career victories have come on synthetics and respected on return. Has a 4-9 Tapeta record and can go well if fully primed after seven months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Illucidate |
(7) (20/1 +39%)20/1(+39%) | (7) Illucidate 20/1, Fair winner at 1½m on Flat in France last autumn. Yet to better modest form in handful of starts over hurdles for present stable, sixth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Southwell (15.8f) 11 days ago. Blinkers replace cheekpieces now returned to the level. Flat winner in France but only modest form over hurdles in Britain; others more obvious. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Chillhi |
(9) (25/1 -25%)25/1(-25%) | (9) Chillhi 25/1, Fifteen runs since last win in 2022. Creditable eighth of 14 in handicap hurdle (15/2) at Newcastle (16.9f, good) 37 days ago. Back down in trip. Fairly useful on the Flat, poor on last Flat outing. Two AW wins in 2022 but hard to fancy on recent efforts, including over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Chase The Dollar |
(10) (50/1 +0%)50/1(+0%) | (10) Chase The Dollar 50/1, Course winner. 33/1, sixth of 7 in handicap at this course (14f) 63 days ago. First run for yard after leaving David Loughnane and percentage call is to look elsewhere. Struggled lately and remains to be seen whether change of yard makes a difference. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
NO SURRENDER was narrowly denied over 1m2f at Lingfield last month and that form has a solid look to it. Nudged up 1lb now back over 1m4f, he gets the vote to atone for that near-miss. A 1lb rise for a recent second over this track and trip doesn't discount Something and he looks a danger to the selection. Four-time C&D winner Optician's mark has come down and his turn may not be far away.
NO SURRENDER highlighted he's capable of defying this sort of mark when finishing a head second over shorter at Lingfield 18 days ago and, worth another crack at this longer trip, he could be the way to go. Skye Breeze on return to action, Knockbrex and Something are others to consider.
The suggestion is sole 3yo SOMETHING, who has a record of 2112 in Tapeta handicaps around 1m4f. No Surrender is second choice.

(1) (5/4 +58%)5/4(+58%) | (1) Asgard's Captain 5/4, C&D winner. Six wins from 22 Flat runs. 4 wins from 12 runs this year. 14/1, creditable fourth of 12 in handicap at this C&D 21 days ago, running on. Major player down in class given positive AW record. Four Tapeta wins at start of year; good return from a break here recently; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Lerwick |
(2) (9/4 +18%)9/4(+18%) | (2) Lerwick 9/4, Latest win at Beverley in August. Good second of 12 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 7/2) 47 days ago, running on. Expected to be bang there from just 1 lb higher. Two turf wins; good start to AW career when second at Southwell (1m); player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Arcadian Nights |
(3) (4/1 +11%)4/1(+11%) | (3) Arcadian Nights 4/1, Three-time C&D winner. 8/1, excellent second of 11 in handicap at this C&D 49 days ago, though was helped by being held up in strongly-run race. Back-to-form second over C&D latest; nudged back up 3lb but should still be in shake-up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Cosmos Raj |
(7) (10/1 +38%)10/1(+38%) | (7) Cosmos Raj 10/1, Course winner. 2 wins from 6 runs this year. 7/1, below form sixth of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW). Off 8 months. Two course wins earlier in year but might be best watched after eight months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dashing Roger |
(4) (12/1 -9%)12/1(-9%) | (4) Dashing Roger 12/1, Seventh of 9 in handicap at Doncaster (7f, heavy, 12/1) 28 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Makes tapeta debut down in class so a revival isn't out of the question. Failed to fire on turf in 2024 and now returns to AW for first time in over three years. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Master Of Combat |
(8) (12/1 +0%)12/1(+0%) | (8) Master Of Combat 12/1, Four-time course winner. Latest win here in September. Eighth of 12 in handicap (20/1) at this C&D 21 days ago. Type to bounce back quickly. Fourth course win in September but not in same form back here since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Yokohama |
(6) (12/1 -50%)12/1(-50%) | (6) Yokohama 12/1, Good fifth of 13 in handicap (33/1) at this C&D 14 days ago. Higher AW mark compared to turf one so doesn't have any margin for error. AW winner; not disgraced from reduced mark when fifth over C&D latest; may build on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Life On The Rocks |
(9) (20/1 +39%)20/1(+39%) | (9) Life On The Rocks 20/1, Four wins from 16 runs this year. Latest win at Windsor in August. 28/1, tenth of 12 in handicap at this C&D 21 days ago. Others arrive in better heart. Four turf wins this year but has struggled back on AW lately. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ASGARD'S CAPTAIN did well to finish a close-up fourth after helping to set the pace over track and trip last month and, eased 1lb, he may prove tough to peg back if the cards fall right. Arcadian Nights bounced right back to form when only finding one rival too good over C&D in October and another bold bid looks likely. Last-start Southwell runner-up Lerwick is also noteworthy.
ASGARD'S CAPTAIN can boast an excellent AW record and having shaped nicely in a better C&D handicap than this 3 weeks ago, he looks primed for a big run. Lerwick also has plenty to recommend him, with Titian another to note given he's back on his last winning mark.
The vote goes to LERWICK on the back of his good first effort on AW last time. Asgard's Captain can give him most to do.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Chalk Mountain |
(3) (3/1 -33%)3/1(-33%) | (3) Chalk Mountain 3/1, 3-time C&D winner. 3 wins from 9 runs this year. Latest win at Kempton in October. 9/1, rare poor effort when seventh of 12 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f) 25 days ago. Drop back in trip well in his favour and makes plenty of appeal. Three wins this autumn but his form cooled at Southwell latest and he needs to bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
He's A Gentleman |
(7) (10/3 +52%)10/3(+52%) | (7) He's A Gentleman 10/3, C&D winner. Latest win at Ayr in July. 14/1, creditable fifth of 12 in handicap at this course (9.5f) 21 days ago. Back down in trip. One to consider. Dual course winner who ran respectably over 9.4f here latest; not ruled out back in trip. |

Admiral D |
(4) (9/2 +0%)9/2(+0%) | (4) Admiral D 9/2, Ungenuine type. 16/1, respectable seventh of 15 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, heavy) 28 days ago. Not the most straightforward but could be considered. Infrequent winner who has form figures of 976005 over this trip; opposable. |

ALZAHIR bumped into an in-form sort when runner-up over a mile at Newcastle on his penultimate start, before being denied a clear run at a crucial stage when finishing down the field in a deeper race over this C&D most recently. Off an unchanged mark with his sights lowered, the son of Sea The Stars looks the one to be with. This step back up in trip could see Admiral D to better effect and he is respected off a falling mark, while He's A Gentleman is also a key player.
CHALK MOUNTAIN had been in top form prior to the trip stretching him at Southwell last time and, given his excellent course record, he's worth a chance to resume winning ways at the possible expense of Alzahir, who was unlucky not to finish much closer here recently. He's A Gentleman can't be ruled out.
Most of these have something to prove but ALZAHIR (nap) didn't get any luck over C&D last time and is a big player now back in grade.

Ciotog |
(11) (5/1 +17%)5/1(+17%) | (11) Ciotog 5/1, C&D winner. Won back to back at Bath (1m) in October. Good second of 8 over C&D (5/2) 22 days ago, running on. Should go well again. Came up short in last month's hat-trick bid but still ran well; should go well again. |

Harbour Vision |
(9) (11/2 +21%)11/2(+21%) | (9) Harbour Vision 11/2, Four-time C&D winner and arrives on a course hat-trick after a pair of 7f wins last month. Another bold show likely in his current mood. Chasing hat-trick after two 7f wins here last month; up in weights/class but not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Love Your Work |
(12) (6/1 +8%)6/1(+8%) | (12) Love Your Work 6/1, Three wins from 18 runs this year, with the latest success coming in a C&D handicap 14 days ago. Merits consideration after only 2 lb nudge. Comes here in top form, winning over C&D two weeks ago; high on the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Bass Player |
(1) (6/1 -50%)6/1(-50%) | (1) Bass Player 6/1, Temperamental sort but ended a long losing run when edging out Fools Rush In over C&D last month. His 2 lb rise is offset by Sean Dylan Bowen's claim. Narrowly denied Fools Rush In over C&D last month; good apprentice booked; solid claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
English Spirit |
(6) (7/1 +13%)7/1(+13%) | (6) English Spirit 7/1, Three-time C&D winner. Also scored over 9.5f here in October. Bit below form 3¼ lengths sixth of 10 to Bass Player over C&D 33 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Good record here but behind a few of these over C&D last month and he's drawn wide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Fools Rush In |
(3) (8/1 +11%)8/1(+11%) | (3) Fools Rush In 8/1, C&D winner in September. Respectable sixth of 11 in handicap at this course (9.5f, 3/1) 26 days ago. C&D win in September and had a near miss behind Bass Player last month; each-way shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Partisan Hero |
(4) (10/1 +17%)10/1(+17%) | (4) Partisan Hero 10/1, 12/1, first run since leaving Dermot Weld when good second of 7 in handicap at Windsor in May. Off since. Makes tapeta debut. Ran well on stable debut in May; missed a run on Tuesday with a temperature; drawn widest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Visibility |
(2) (10/1 +29%)10/1(+29%) | (2) Visibility 10/1, Six-time course winner, the latest in October. 6/1, respectable fourth of 8 over C&D 22 days ago. Multiple course winner; on a fair mark but needs to step up on most recent efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Jazzy Angel |
(7) (10/1 -11%)10/1(-11%) | (7) Jazzy Angel 10/1, C&D winner. Also won a 7f handicap here in October. 17/2, ninth of 10 in handicap at this course (6f) 5 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. C&D winner; below par on Monday but that was 6f and she was drawn widest; better expected. |

Stipulation |
(8) (14/1 +0%)14/1(+0%) | (8) Stipulation 14/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 14/1, second of 6 in novice at Kempton (1m) 31 days ago. Makes handicap debut. His mark demands improvement but he is unexposed. Merit of latest Kempton second open to question; stable also runs Ciotog. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Golspie |
(5) (16/1 -60%)16/1(-60%) | (5) Golspie 16/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Respectable fifth of 10 in handicap (11/1) at Newcastle (1m) 30 days ago. Not added to his debut success in 11 runs since; needs to raise his game a notch. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sceptic |
(10) (66/1 +0%)66/1(+0%) | (10) Sceptic 66/1, 200/1, last of 11 in handicap at this course (7f) 19 days ago. Back up in trip. Struggled since leaving Andrew Balding and hard to fancy despite tumbling handicap mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
CIOTOG has been reliable of late and, nudged up 1lb after a second-placed finish over C&D last month, he must have every chance of doubling his win tally on the all-weather on these terms. Visibility was fourth in that race and has a feasible chance of turning the form around with a 2lb pull at the weights. Love Your Work, a winner over track an trip a fortnight ago, also rates a key player off just 2lb higher. Bass Playern completes the shortlist.
Several of these know where the winning post is here, none more so than HARBOUR VISION, who is taken to complete a course hat-trick after a pair of 7f wins last month. Ciotog, Love Your Work and the quirky Bass Player head the dangers.
This looks competitive with several potential winners in the field. LOVE YOUR WORK is in top form and is marginally preferred.

Alafdhal |
(11) (9/2 +10%)9/2(+10%) | (11) Alafdhal 9/2, Course winner. 3 wins from 25 runs this year. Blinkered for 1st time, creditable third of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW, 5/1) 16 days ago. Looks competitive on form. Consistency hard to knock but more minor money perhaps his best hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Darlo Pride |
(3) (5/1 +0%)5/1(+0%) | (3) Darlo Pride 5/1, C&D winner. 5/1, good third of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (5f) 14 days ago. Blinkers back on and this in-form 4-y-o should give another good account of himself. Running well in defeat for his new yard but a wide draw tempers enthusiasm here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Wee Fat Mac |
(6) (7/1 -155%)7/1(-155%) | (6) Wee Fat Mac 7/1, C&D winner. Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. Respectable fourth of 11 in handicap at Musselburgh (5f, good to soft, 9/1) 54 days ago. Live each-way chance back on the AW. Conditions should be fine but overcoming the widest stall won't be easy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Moe's Legacy |
(8) (8/1 -23%)8/1(-23%) | (8) Moe's Legacy 8/1, C&D winner. 3 wins from 21 runs this year, the latest here in November. Last of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW, 7/1) 16 days ago, slowly away. Has to be taken seriously. C&D win last month was followed by a tame Lingfield run; this should be run to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Pop Dancer |
(1) (10/1 +0%)10/1(+0%) | (1) Pop Dancer 10/1, C&D winner. Seventh of 10 in handicap (15/2) at Lingfield (5f, AW) 16 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Likely to come up short once more, unless the new headgear helps give him a lift. Caught wide last time and in good order beforehand; new headgear on now down in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Gustav Graves |
(10) (10/1 +17%)10/1(+17%) | (10) Gustav Graves 10/1, Four-time C&D winner. 4 wins from 16 runs this year. However, he could finish only eighth of 10 in handicap (16/1) at Newcastle (5f) 30 days ago and he's not the easiest to predict. Conditions suit and slipped back down the weights; will need luck in running from stall 1. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Papa Don't Preach |
(9) (10/1 -25%)10/1(-25%) | (9) Papa Don't Preach 10/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Chelmsford in October. Only fifth of 6 in handicap (12/1) at the same course (5f) 30 days ago, left poorly placed. Blinkers back on and wouldn't be without each-way hope if on-song. Running well since blinkered this autumn but he will need to raise his game to take this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Arc Shadowfax |
(7) (12/1 +64%)12/1(+64%) | (7) Arc Shadowfax 12/1, Fifth of 10 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f, 22/1) 19 days ago. Improvement will be needed if he's to emerge on top. Not made much of an impact in handicaps; back at 5f with new headgear tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Zola Power |
(5) (14/1 +58%)14/1(+58%) | (5) Zola Power 14/1, C&D winner. First run since leaving Michael Appleby when last of 13 in handicap at Southwell (5f, 50/1) 72 days ago. Looks up against it. C&D win in Jan for M Appleby; no progress since; well held on stable debut; no accessories. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
American Fashion |
(4) (16/1 +52%)16/1(+52%) | (4) American Fashion 16/1, 20/1, first run since leaving John & Thady Gosden when eighth of 10 in handicap at this course (6.1f) 22 days ago, doing too much too soon. Hood on 1st time and she needs to raise her game. She's looked a weak finisher over a range of trips; hood added now down to Class 6. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Several have chances here but perhaps none more so than AGOSTINO, who has fared well with the draw and could make this a searching test of speed if he hits the gates running. Darlo Pride has been consistent during a busy spell over the last couple of months and the C&D winner should again make his presence felt. Alafdhal, Moe's Legacy and Wee Fat Mac also warrant close inspection in race where there is little margin for error.
The vote goes to MOE'S LEGACY, who was in good order prior to a below-par display at Lingfield last time and she appeals as the type to bounce back quickly. Alafdhal continues to knock on the door and he looks set for another bold show, while Darlo Pride and Wee Fat Mac are also worth a second look.
Pop Dancer is feared despite other front-runners in the field but this could set up for a finisher and MOE'S LEGACY gets the nod.

Come On John |
(12) (11/4 -22%)11/4(-22%) | (12) Come On John 11/4, C&D winner. Latest win at Southwell in October. 11/8, creditable third of 9 in handicap at this course (12.2f) 26 days ago, missing break. Back down in trip and he's shortlist material. 1m3f win in October and placed over 1m4f here latest; still well treated; strong claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Solanna |
(2) (7/2 +0%)7/2(+0%) | (2) Solanna 7/2, Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. 3/1, creditable third of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (10f, AW) 16 days ago. Merits consideration. Beaten favourite the last twice but he's run OK; unplaced in three course starts though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Star Of St James |
(9) (8/1 +33%)8/1(+33%) | (9) Star Of St James 8/1, Latest win at Nottingham in August. Fourth of 10 in handicap (6/1) at Nottingham (10.2f, heavy) 38 days ago, faring best of those ridden prominently. Not completely discounted. Made all to win two amateur races on turf this summer; well beaten on last four starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Port Noir |
(11) (8/1 -7%)8/1(-7%) | (11) Port Noir 8/1, Six-time course winner. 3 wins from 26 runs this year. Creditable fourth of 11 in handicap (10/1) at this course (8.6f) 16 days ago, helped by being held up in strongly-run race. Each-way shout. Conditions to suit and comes here in good order; should make another bold bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Pug |
(7) (8/1 +0%)8/1(+0%) | (7) The Pug 8/1, Unreliable type. Respectable seventh of 12 in handicap at Southwell (11.1f, 16/5) 58 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Sylvester Kirk and others boast more compelling credentials. Starts out for new yard on dangerous mark; no headgear but still an interesting contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Mykonos St John |
(6) (10/1 +29%)10/1(+29%) | (6) Mykonos St John 10/1, Course winner. 3 wins from 17 runs this year. Latest win here in October. Creditable sixth of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (10f, AW, 12/1) 16 days ago. Opposable. Had excuses last time & no surprise to see him go well in his bid for a 4th win this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
First Dynasty |
(3) (12/1 +0%)12/1(+0%) | (3) First Dynasty 12/1, 4/1, creditable fourth of 10 in handicap at this course (7.2f) 16 days ago. Significantly up in trip for this stable debut and likely to find one or two too good. 1m win in October and ran okay over 7f here last time; back up in trip; easy lead unlikely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Light Up Our Stars |
(4) (16/1 +20%)16/1(+20%) | (4) Light Up Our Stars 16/1, Course winner. Seventh of 8 in handicap (25/1) at this course (8.6f) 22 days ago. Others make more appeal. On a handy mark but patchy record since his Southwell win in July. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Under Fox |
(1) (20/1 +20%)20/1(+20%) | (1) Under Fox 20/1, Last of 11 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good to firm, 15/2). Off 18 months and it's reasonable to think that he'll come on for the run. Out of sorts when last seen and has a 557-day absence to overcome. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Celebrating Ethel |
(5) (20/1 -122%)20/1(-122%) | (5) Celebrating Ethel 20/1, One win from 21 Flat runs. Ninth of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (10f, AW, 22/1) 16 days ago. Enters calculations. 1m1f turf winner in Ireland last year; mixed bag for Tony Carroll and others look stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Hawa Jumeirah |
(10) (50/1 +0%)50/1(+0%) | (10) Hawa Jumeirah 50/1, Hooded for 1st time, last of 8 in handicap at Beverley (9.9f, good, 40/1), slowly away. Off 154 days ahead of this tapeta debut and it's probably best to look elsewhere. Poor form since handicapping; gelded since latest run but not easily recommended. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Stepping up in trip seems to have been the making of PORT NOIR and, having landed a brace of wins here (one over this trip) in October, Robert Stephens' revitalised mare is an appealing option in her bid to cement her reputation as a course specialist. C&D winner Come On John is noteworthy back over this trip and needs taking seriously from a dangerously competitive rating. Solanna and Star Of St James are others to note in the betting.
COME ON JOHN hasn't done much wrong in three starts since joining the James Owen yard and, with the promise of even better to come, he gets the nod. Solanna and Port Noir should both be on the premises, along with Star of St James.
The Pug is interesting on his stable debut but COME ON JOHN is still well treated and can gain a second win for his new yard.
Ths is the racecard key.

Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
