17:00 Wolverhampton Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Target Man was only beaten by half a length by an 83-rated rival over track and trip on his latest outing and that display gives him a leading chance. However, GOOD BANTER may have more scope for improvement after a highly-encouraging runner-up effort on his debut at Salisbury. With normal progression, he could be the one to beat. Any market support for Oceans Charm should not be ignored.

A potential match between GOOD BANTER and Target Man, with the former getting the vote having narrowly found one too strong on debut at Salisbury last month. George Boughey's colt improved from his debut 5 months earlier when runner-up over C&D a fortnight ago and he may have to settle for a hat-trick of silver medals, with Peter The Wolf and debutante Oceans Charm taken to fight out third.

Target Man has the highest RPR coming in here but both Peter The Wolf and GOOD BANTER may progress past him.

17:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

GEORGINIO has failed to fire in each of his three starts to date, but he has been gelded since his latest effort at Newcastle and Archie Watson's juvenile makes his nursery debut off what looks a fair mark of 67. The booking of Luke Morris catches the eye and he gets a tentative vote. One Road ran a lot better than his odds suggested he would when fifth at Kempton last time and he might get into contention on his first start in a nursery. Yehudi completes the shortllist.

With so many of these tackling handicap company for the first time the betting promises to be informative. YEHUDI is one who has shown definite promise in his 3 qualifying runs and gets the vote under Billy Loughnane. Georginio and Dandy G Boy are others with similar profiles to selection.

A raft of potential improvers on show in a trappy race. Zoulu Warrior and ONE ROAD may prove the pair with most potential.

18:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Surprise Picture bids to repeat last year's victory in this and has to come into calculations, having won again here earlier in the month. FOREVER A DIAMOND also won over C&D in April and, having shown signs of a resurgence when going close in first-time blinkers at Kempton a week ago, she may prove the one to side with. Sonmarg has yet to win a handicap but is usually in the mix at this level, while Pinball Wizard is another to note.

PINBALL WIZARD seems to be finding his feet for James Owen and is taken to deny Surprise Picture a second successive win in this race. Forever A Lady and Sonmarg complete the shortlist.

Surprise Picture and FOREVER A DIAMOND may be the pair to focus on. The latter is marginally preferred.

18:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Battle Point made a bold bid from the front at Lingfield recently, only to be caught in the shadow of the post by ZENO. A similar outcome is expected today, given the latter travelled well throughout the race and there looks more to come from the son of Iffraaj off only 2lb higher. Marcus is edging closer to opening his account and found only one too good again on the Polytrack last time, while Battleofbaltimore is preferred of the remainder.

MARCUS has gone close in similar races in recent weeks and perhaps this will be his day. The fact Next Second knows where the winning post is over C&D makes her a possible threat having dipped to her last winning mark. Banana arrives in form and is another likely to be on the premises.

This looks a bit trappy but recent Lingfield winner ZENO gets the vote ahead of Marcus and Banana.

19:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The application of cheekpieces appeared to work the oracle for QUICKFIRE at Yarmouth last month. Mark Loughnane's inmate stayed on well to score over a mile and gave the impression this extra distance would suit in the process. Blacklion also steps up in trip after scoring over 7f here and can make his presence felt if lasting home, while Northstead Gardens and Harlington are both worthy of a second glance.

The one who appeals most is BLACKLION on the back of his recent success over 7.2f at this course. He did well under the circumstances on that occasion and this stiffer test could be right up his street. Lightning Bay and Northstead Gardens are taken to fill the places.

An open race in which NORTHSTEAD GARDENS gets the vote ahead of the last-time-out winners Quickfire and Blacklion.

19:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 16f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Although she hasn't always looked the easiest of rides, BAILEYS WARRIOR possesses the ability to land a race of this nature. Thomas Faulkner's mare is now 1lb below her last winning mark and a return to the all-weather holds no fears. Humaniste arrives on the back of some creditable efforts in defeat on turf and is feared most, ahead of stable debutant Bigz Belief, who posted a respectable fourth at Tipperary at the start of the month.

Irish-import BIGZ BELIEF took a step back in the right direction when fourth off this mark on his final start for Matthew Smith at Tipperary earlier this month and he could be the answer. He is unproven on this surface but his credentials are otherwise appealing. Baileys Warrior wasn't at her best at Ffos Las last time but she can be expected to bounce back with a bold show returned to the all-weather, while Breccia and Humaniste are live each-way contenders.

Preference is for the reliable BAILEYS WARRIOR, who has won at 2m and was a good second over 1m6f here on her penultimate run.

20:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Waleyfa has been revitalised by a change of scenery, as evidenced when making a winning stable debut at Brighton last month. A subsequent runner-up effort and another victory on the south coast shows she's in really good nick and another bold bid is expected from the penalised six-year-old. LADY AVA makes slightly more appeal up in distance, though. The New Bay filly was a never-nearer second over 7f at Southwell last time out and this trip looks worth exploring. Shaka is also noted.

WALEYFA made it 2-3 for this yard at Brighton recently and she looks more than capable of enhancing that record under a penalty here. She may have most to fear from We'renotreallyhere, who failed to fire at Epsom but was in good heart prior to that. Lady Ava and Shaka are others to consider.

Top of the list is WALEYFA (nap), who made it 2-3 for her current yard when scoring with something in hand at Brighton last Tuesday.

20:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Having scored over 1m2f at Lingfield earlier this month, the progressive Newfangled warrants respect. However, the combination of a 5lb higher rating and drop in distance may prove his undoing, with last-time-out C&D winner CUBAN HARRY taken to complete a double. Ed Dunlop's gelding capitalised off a career-low mark that day and a 4lb rise looks workable. Bay Of Australia and Offiah's Boy have the form to feature as well.

This slight drop back in trip should prove ideal for BAY OF AUSTRALIA, who was collared in the closing stages when a clear second over 9.5f here a fortnight ago. He is taken to open his account at the twelfth time of asking. Newfangled did the job well at Lingfield recently and, still unexposed on the all-weather, he is a much-respected main danger. Cuban Harry and Offiah's Boy, first and third respectively over C&D earlier this month, should both be on the premises once again.

Cariad should go well at this level but there are several reasons to expect an improved showing from KING OF SPEED this evening.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
