16:55 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Swinging Eddie defeated Beltane at Catterick and with a return to the all-weather set to be no issue, he merits the utmost respect raised 4lb. However, the vote goes to NOT JUST YET. The Night Of Thunder gelding hasn't been in the care of Nikki Evans for long, but went agonisingly close over 6f here last month having been caught too far back. He will appreciate the extra furlong and, given that he is well treated on his Irish form, this looks a good opportunity. Port Noir is also noted.

The vote goes to ULTRAMARINE, who has been firmly knocking on the door of late and he remains 9 lb below the mark off which he hit the target at Kempton in February. Stella Hogan is the clear pick of the John O'Shea-trained pair and she gets the nod ahead of Not Just Yet and Port Noir for forecast purposes.

Grant Tuer holds a strong hand with C&D winners SURPRISE PICTURE and Swinging Eddie having plenty to recommend them.

17:25 Wolverhampton Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Marmaduke Lemon has shown more than enough in handicaps to suggest he could exploit an ease in class, while first-time cheekpieces might elicit some improvement from Kaolinite, who has displayed a similar level of form this campaign. Preference, though, is for DARK VENTURE. Charlie Hills' charge shaped with promise amidst greenness on his debut at Southwell in March and although the layoff must be a slight cause for concern, natural improvement will see him go close.

MARMADUKE LEMON's latest run at York can be overlooked and he is the one to beat judged on several pieces of form, not least a close call three starts back at Doncaster where he pulled clear of the rest with the winner, who has gone in again since. Assuming that all is well with Dark Venture following a break, he will be a threat having shaped well on his introduction at Southwell during the spring. Pinsent is best of the rest.

Market support for Dark Venture would be interesting back from a break but MARMADUKE LEMON has good claims on his best 7f form.

17:55 Wolverhampton Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Not the most daunting standard set by those with experience so market support for Castellina and Bella Fortunata should be noted, but QUEUE DOS is fancied to gain a deserved breakthrough success. The daughter of Massaat has filled the runner-up spot on each of her last three starts and, with cheekpieces applied for the first time and from a plum draw, she can find the necessary improvement. Handle With Care is another to consider.

CASTELLINA is bred to be above average and those with form don't set the bar all that high, so she could make a winning start if sufficiently tuned up. Queue Dos is the pick of those with experience and Addarella isn't without a chance.

Although more exposed than her rivals QUEUE DOS has shown plenty of ability and won't find many better opportunities to break her duck.

18:25 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Bernard Spierpoint has been a revelation since rejoining the Darryll Holland yard and completed a quickfire hat-trick at Brighton last weekend. A double penalty is unlikely to prevent another bold bid, but MY GENGHIS may gain his revenge on this return to handicap company. If taking Jack Doughty's 5lb claim into account, the five-year-old is effectively 19lb better off with Bernard Spierpoint for just under five lengths when fifth at Wolverhampton last month. Fircombe Hall is also noted.

This is a distinctly weak event and BERNARD SPIERPOINT showed a good attitude to score at Brighton 4 days ago, so he's worth a chance to defy another penalty despite the quick turnaround. Fircombe Hall should be involved and Tathmeen could play a part if the race doesn't come too soon.

The vote goes to MY GENGHIS who finished 5l behind Bernard Spierpoint here last month, but is now 14lb better off.

18:55 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Having justified market support in a classified event over track and trip in July, GLORY CALL lost little in defeat when pipped at Southwell the following month. A 1lb nudge up the ratings looks on the lenient side for Ollie Pears' gelding and a fourth career victory beckons. Although he could only muster a well-beaten seventh at Catterick recently, better is expected from Eldeyaar on his return to Tapeta. He may give the selection most concern, ahead of Midnight Flame.

GLORY CALL arrives in top form, which can't be said for any of his rivals, so he's a straightforward choice for all that Eldeyaar can be expected to bounce back returned to the surface that suits him well. Araifjan also warrants a mention.

The most appealing option in this modest handicap is GLORY CALL, who is back in good form now and remains on a workable mark.

19:25 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Last-time-out maiden winner FORAGER has improved with each outing since posting a fifth-placed effort on debut at Yarmouth in June and she enters nursery company off what looks a workable mark. Simon Pearce's filly shouldn't be inconvenienced by the Tapeta surface and she can go in again. Son Of Wind was far from disgraced when runner-up at Chelmsford recently and he isn't taken lightly racing off an unchanged mark. Harswell Dandy may fare best of the rest.

FORAGER has a likeable way of going about things and opened her account comfortably at Beverley last time, so she's preferred to Invincible Annice, with Son of Wind also expected to be involved.

Son Of Wind ran well off his new mark on Saturday but FORAGER can prove his match on the switch to Tapeta.

20:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 12f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Dibble Dabble may prove popular as the only C&D winner in the field, but he may need a drop in the weights to win again. EMERALD CITY kept on well when a length second at Kempton on his first try at this trip, and he is due to go up 2lb for future races. Edwardtheninth is an interesting alternative in first-time cheekpieces and upped considerably in trip.

EMERALD CITY has shown improved form when runner-up on his last 2 starts, seeing out the longer trip well at Kempton on his latest outing, so he could be ready to go one better this time around. C&D winner Dibble Dabble also arrives in good heart and is respected, with Surrey Force completing the shortlist.

The vote goes to ADVERT RULES who is off the same mark as when chasing home an in-form rival over C&D 16 days ago.

20:30 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Busby is unlikely to get back to his best at the age of nine, but he has won here four times over C&D, the latest off a stone higher in the handicap in 2022. He could run into a place, but with the Furtado horses in good form it may be worth taking a chance on Ayr fourth WALLAROO, who has performed well without success recently. Caramay is another to consider with the drop back in trip expected to suit.

A wide-open contest with the tentative vote in favour of CERULEAN SUMMER. Dylan Cunha's filly got as close as she ever has to shedding the maiden tag when a close-up third at Leicester 25 days ago and a repeat gives her sound claims in the hope she gets a decent pace to aim at. Tony Carroll's pair Carey Street and Boujee Gold head up the dangers, along with Caramay.

The selection is four-time course winner CAREY STREET (nap) who was successful at 0-55 level the last time he appeared at this venue.

21:00 Wolverhampton Handicap (Class 5) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Etretat won over C&D in July and, although beaten twice on turf since, a return to the all-weather may see him in a better light. The lightly-raced Ravishing Beauty has her first start for Jedd O'Keeffe after a good third at Salisbury, and she could go close if she builds on that making her handicap debut, but a chance is taken on HEAVENLY FIRE. Unlucky after a slow start here last month, she might make amends off bottom weight.

STRAIGHT A failed to justify support when down the field at Haydock 26 days ago, however it would be a surprise were his new yard not able to find the key to him and, with cheekpieces reached for, he's given another chance on tapeta debut. Etretat returned to this venue and handicap debutante Ravishing Beauty head up the dangers. Daymer Bay is another worth a second look.

It may be worth chancing DREAM SELECTION who has dropped 5lb lower than when successful over a furlong further here in February.
