25/1(-108%)
(8) Arlecchino's Gift 25/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2022. Sixth of 7 in handicap at Salisbury (6f, good to firm, 7/1) 39 days ago. Readily passed over, for all that he's dipped to a basement mark.
Three 6f wins in 2022; not yet got going this year but dropped a long way in the weights.

Forever Dreaming

(3) Forever Dreaming 8/1, Winner at Southwell in February. 15/2, fifth of 7 in handicap at Salisbury (6f, good to firm) 39 days ago. That was her first run on turf and possibilities here off 2 lb lower with blinkers refitted.

(2) Q Twenty Boy 16/1, Sixteen runs since last win in 2022. Fifth of 7 in handicap (10/1) at Goodwood (6f, good to firm) 17 days ago. No more than an each-way squeak.

(1) Peachey Carnehan 3.5/1, 25/1, ninth of 13 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 21 days ago. Lurking on a workable make and he's certainly capable of playing a leading role.

3.5/1(-27%)
(12) Penny Be 3.5/1, Good third of 9 in handicap at Salisbury (7f, good to firm, 10/3) 8 days ago, very slowly away. Not sure that this drop back in trip will work in her favour (and will need to be quicker off the blocks this time) but she needs considering off the same mark all the same.
Lightly raced; shown promise in 6f and 7f handicaps; sharp test at 6f may not be ideal.

LTO Selection:

17:05 Windsor Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

There will be plenty who keep the faith in Penny Be, who had to settle for third when sent off favourite at Salisbury but is edging towards her first success. Even so, RECKON I'M HOT is preferred, despite being a lot more exposed, because he came with a head of finally breaking his duck at Bath last time. Forever Dreaming showed a few more signs of life at Salisbury, with Thegreatestshowman and Q Twenty Boy also respected.

This looks wide open and there are plenty of ifs and buts to ponder. Perhaps RECKON I'M HOT will open his account at the twentieth time of asking having produced one of his best efforts to date (and by far his best on turf) when just touched off at Bath last month. Peachey Carnehan and Forever Dreaming are nominated as the main dangers, largely owing to the fact that dropping back to 6f may not help Penny Be, while Sir Sedric and Thegreatestshowman both need to turn things around.

Penny Be remains of interest but this could be the day that RECKON I'M HOT (nap) gets off the mark after a stout effort at Bath.

17:35 Windsor Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

There is stamina on the dam's side of FAUNTLEROY's pedigree, but sire Mehmas imparts plenty of speed and the Crisfords' 140,000gns yearling can get off the mark at the first time of asking. Free Nation is a half-brother to former smart sprinter Alphabet and changed hands for 100,000gns, while Red Zone Hero and Kinnigoli Kid also went for six-figure sums. At 85,000gns, Savvy Kingdom wasn't exactly cheap and William Buick is an interesting booking.

A field of newcomers and hard to rule any out or in for that matter, and the market should provide valuable clues. but KINNIGOLI KID is highest rated on Timeform's provisional ratings for unraced horses given his pedigree and having been resold this year for 120,000 euros, and appeals as much as any. Free Nation and Red Zone Hero are a couple of others to note.

The one that appeals most on paper is FREE NATION, who is given the vote.

18:05 Windsor Stakes (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GARDEN ROUTE hasn't been seen since November, but he got to within a neck of success at Kempton and the third won a Newmarket handicap last week off a mark of 87. Wind and gelding operations during his time off should also stand the son of Galileo in good stead and he is a strong fancy to break through. If he needs the run, Peaceful Story is capable of capitalising following a solid Goodwood fourth. Give Aurora Charm and Paternoster Square some thought too.

GARDEN ROUTE took a step forward when runner-up at Kempton 7 months ago and his expert handler should have him well prepared for this return, so he's preferred to Peaceful Story, who offered encouragement at Goodwood last time out.

Peaceful Story has something to recommend her but this looks booked for GARDEN ROUTE who ran so well in both starts as a juvenile.

LTO Selection:

18:35 Windsor Handicap (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LIVE IN THE MOMENT was one of those scuppered by the stalls fiasco at Epsom on Derby day, and he couldn't quite gain compensation at Catterick a week later, but he remains on a competitive rating and is worth sticking with. Lequinto bounced back to form when runner-up over C&D last week and is able to compete off the same mark. Magical Merlin did it well at Lingfield but, prior to that, he was only fourth behind Animate at Wolverhampton.

MAGICAL MERLIN powered away to score at Lingfield a fortnight ago and he's been successful here before, so he takes marginal preference over Live In The Moment, who arrives on the back of a solid showing at Catterick. Lequinto is also considered.

Magical Merlin is dangerous but LEQUINTO looks ready to win again following a return to form over C&D last week.

LTO Selection:

19:10 Windsor Handicap (Class 5) 11f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ALPINA EXPRESS continues to go from strength to strength and a 6lb penalty for her most recent stylish win at Carlisle may not be enough to prevent Charlie Johnston's filly from landing the hat-trick. The slight rise in distance is another plus and she gets the vote ahead of Hurtle, who ran a highly creditable race on his return over C&D last month, and Greased Lightning.

Ready preference is for the filly ALPINA EXPRESS, who made it 2-2 in handicaps/on turf when scoring with plenty left in the tank at Carlisle last week. It's no surprise that connections are keen to get another run into her before being reassessed and she is hard to oppose under a 6 lb penalty. Hurtle's reappearance effort over this C&D was encouraging and he edges the vote ahead of Greased Lightning for forecast purposes.

Hurtle put up a good show on his reappearance but ALPINA EXPRESS is the one to beat and she can bring up the three-timer.

19:40 Windsor Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The drop in trip can work the oracle for MONTEVIDEO, having shown plenty of pace over further when not beaten far at Haydock last time out. Joe Fanning will look to dictate from the front and he may have enough to see off the likes of handicap debutant Morcar, while Tribute has strong claims on his penultimate effort at Southwell.

MORCAR has set a solid platform and promises to be well suited by the longer trip, so he gets the nod over Montevideo, who ran with credit in a novice at Haydock 12 days ago and could get her own way in front. Tribute is also considered.

An open race with MORCAR, who should appreciate the step up in trip on his handicap debut, narrowly preferred.

LTO Selection:

20:10 Windsor Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

This looks like a wide-open contest, where a chance can be taken on last-time-out victor CARRY ON AITCH, who went in over C&D last week and considering the manner of his victory, he is fancied to carry his 6lb penalty to strike once more. Mucky Mulconry has been a consistent performer since joining Michael Wigham and has to be respected with Tom Marquand booked, while Imperiousity is far from ruled out on the back of his runner-up effort at Lingfield last time.

CARRY ON AITCH was well on top at the finish when winning here a week ago and she's worth a chance to defy the penalty for all that this is a competitive race for the grade. Imperiousity and Mucky Mulconry are obvious dangers.

This is very competitive for the grade. LIOSA did well to finish fourth here on his seasonal/handicap debut and might be the answer.
