|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (80/1 -344%) Alika Breeze |
80/1(-344%) | (2) Alika Breeze 80/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 7 in handicap (8/1) at Kempton (8f) 28 days ago, folding. Uphill task. May do better returned to turf with AW reappearance under her belt. |

6/1(-9%) | (1) Let's Get Em 6/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 7/2 and tongue strap on for 1st time, good second of 9 in handicap at Brighton (7f, good) 12 days ago. Not taken lightly. Five-race maiden; ran well at Brighton most recently; possibilities off same mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
HE'S GOT GAME did well to finish second over C&D last month despite taking a keen hold, and the form of that race has worked out extremely well in the interim. A 2lb rise for that effort could prove lenient and Hugo Palmer's charge can get off the mark at the main expense of Let's Get Em, who improved from first to second start this season when runner-up at Brighton over 7f. Wolverhampton scorer Cadogan Gardens and Global Asset cannot be ruled out either.
HE'S GOT GAME was much improved on handicap debut over C&D last time and he might be able to better that second if allowed his own way in front. Let's Get Em arrives on the back of a solid showing and Global Asset is a potential improver, so they're both dangers.
On the back of a rock-solid effort over C&D, HE'S GOT GAME (nap) has the strongest claims. Cadogan Gardens is second choice.

1st (7) (3/1 +10%) Storm Call |
3/1(+10%) | (7) Storm Call 3/1, 17/2, showed plenty of ability only to prove very green under firmer pressure when second of 6 in minor event at Southwell (5f) on debut 2 weeks ago, running on despite hanging badly left final 1f. Likely to improve, possibly significantly. Plenty of promise when runner-up at Southwell and she should improve for the experience. |

Entitled to progress. Ran very green at Thirsk and it wouldn't be a surprise if she left that form well behind. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (7/2 -5%) Woodhay Whisper |
7/2(-5%) | (8) Woodhay Whisper 7/2, 12/1, yard's first 2-y-o runner of the year who showed plenty of ability when second of 9 in minor event at this C&D (good to firm) on debut 3 weeks ago. Open to progress. Good second on her C&D debut last month and she's respected. |

10/3(+58%) | (3) Nad Alshiba Green 10/3, Foaled January 29. Dark Angel filly. Closely related to winner up to 6.3f Amirat Alward. Dam unraced half-sister to smart winner up to 6f Queen Kindly out of very smart 5f/6f (including at 2 yrs) winner Lady of The Desert. Has a striking pedigree and interesting to see how she figures in market on debut. |

Dam unraced half-sister to smart 6f-1m winner Time's Arrow out of Prix de l'Abbaye winner Gilt Edge Girl. 30,000gns half-sister to two winners; yard is in good form and market should guide. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A highly-promising second on her debut over C&D last month despite swerving right at the start, WOODHAY WHISPER sets the standard and improvement is expected on that effort. Tom Ward's filly is preferred to Storm Call, who also ran an excellent first time out over 5f at Southwell, when not getting the clearest of runs and keeping on for second late in the piece. A well-bred daughter of Blue Point, Pouting looks to be the pick of the newcomers, while Li Ban is another to note.
STORM CALL showed plenty of ability amidst greenness when runner-up at Southwell on debut a fortnight ago and, sure to have derived plenty from that initial effort, Karl Burke's filly is taken to go a place better at the expense of debutante Pouting, whose stable has had a fantastic start to 2024. Another newcomer Smallbrook Lane ticks plenty of boxes on paper and she can edge third over Woodhay Whisper.
Storm Call and WOODHAY WHISPER both showed plenty of promise with their debut seconds and the marginal vote goes to the latter.

Sets the bar pretty high and there's more to come, so should take the beating. Promising second in C&D maiden two weeks ago, faring best of the newcomers. |

(9) (28/1 -40%)28/1(-40%) | (9) My Dream World 28/1, Once-raced maiden. Seventh of 14 in minor event (10/1) at Chelmsford City (10f) on debut. Off 151 days. Has potential, but probably for further down the line. Showed some ability with his midfield effort at Chelmsford five months ago. |

1st (5) (7/4 +50%) Machete Beach |
7/4(+50%) | (5) Machete Beach 7/4, 11/2, won 11-runner maiden at Lingfield (10f, AW) on debut 33 days ago, always holding on. Should progress further and can't be ruled out despite the penalty. Looks better than the bare form of his Lingfield AW win; enters calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (4/5 +73%) Lennox |
4/5(+73%) | (6) Lennox 4/5, Promising type. 6/4, second of 8 in maiden at Yarmouth (8f, good to firm) 20 days ago, clear of rest. Open to improvement up in trip and should play a part. Has placed form at about 1m; likely to be suited by 1m2f; possibilities. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (80/1 -100%) Airgunner |
80/1(-100%) | (11) Airgunner 80/1, Once-raced maiden. Eighth of 10 in maiden at Bath (8f, good to soft, 25/1) on debut 24 days ago. Up in trip. Needs to improve sharply on Bath debut form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Slight preference is for MASTER BUILDER, who ran an eye-catching race on debut over C&D when slowly away before staying on late in the day to grab second. With improvement expected, the son of Mastercraftsmen should be able to go one better, with Yarmouth runner-up Lennox looking best placed to chase him home on the rise in distance. Thyer is another to consider despite having to shoulder a 7lb penalty for a comfortable victory at Thirsk last September.
MASTER BUILDER made an eye-catching debut after a slow start when second over C&D first time out and, with improvement expected, he can get off the mark at the second attemmpt. Lennox is a big danger and previous winners Machete Beach and Thyer warrant consideration.
Provided the promise of his C&D effort is backed up, MASTER BUILDER could well go one better. Lennox is second choice.

11/2(+31%) | (3) Federal Envoy 11/2, Appealed on paper and made a winning start in 12-runner maiden at Southwell (7.1f) in March. May well have gone close to defying a penalty if he'd kept straight on turf debut when fifth at Pontefract (6f, heavy) just under 6 weeks ago and no surprise to see the cheekpieces go on. Won at Southwell but he hung badly right under a penalty at Pontefract; headgear now added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The Andrew Balding stable have been in terrific form of late and CUBAN MELODY could provide them with further success today. The daughter of Havana Grey has weakened late on both of her starts over 7f, so this drop to a sprint trip could see the filly sustain her finishing effort. William Haggas' Mono River was relatively weak in the market when occupying the runner-up spot at Yarmouth nine days ago and a similar level of performance will bring him firmly into the picture. Penalised Southwell winner Federal Envoy and newcomer Laguna Boy are just two others to consider.
MONO RIVER took an almighty step forward from his debut effort when finding a short-priced favourite too strong at Yarmouth earlier this month and with more to come, William Haggas' charge can make it third time lucky. Cuban Melody has shaped with plenty of promise in both runs so far so she heads up the dangers, with Federal Envoy and Hector both worth keeping an eye on, too.
Andrew Balding's CUBAN MELODY sets the standard on her third at Chelmsford last time and is open to more progress on this drop to 6f.

Well below that level in a handful of appearances for new connections this year, though this is a drop in class. Out of sorts last year and he needs to turn things around after 220 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (10/1 +17%) Indian Creak |
10/1(+17%) | (6) Indian Creak 10/1, Five-time C&D winner. Seventh of 8 in handicap (14/1) at Goodwood (6f, heavy) 10 days ago, not knocked about. Expected to build on that and he's now 2 lb below his last winning mark. Now 2lb lower than for his C&D win last August but he needs a major upturn in form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Laoisman completed his hat-trick from a 3lb lower mark at Wolverhampton last month and he could yet have more to offer back on turf, but it is KATEY KONTENT who gets the vote. Clive Cox's filly bumped into an improver on her final start as a three-year-old in October, and a 1lb rise in the ratings looks unlikely to prevent a bold showing. Leap Abroad was on target at Leicester 16 days ago and he remains well treated off 3lb higher.
LAOISMAN is forced into a better race but he hasn't looked back since dropped to 6f so the 4-timer may well be forthcoming having been raised just 3 lb for his reappearance win. Katey Kontent and Executive Decision both return for in-form yards and are a couple of potential threats.
The vote goes to the progressive LAOISMAN who completed a hat-trick at Wolverhampton last month and a 3lb rise for that win looks fair.

Nasim |
(9) (9/1 -64%)9/1(-64%) | (9) Nasim 9/1, Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. Good second of 15 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f, 4/1) 30 days ago. Back up in trip and well weighted now he's back in good order. Good efforts on AW last twice and has claims if he can transfer his form back to turf. |

Masqool |
(2) (12/1 +14%)12/1(+14%) | (2) Masqool 12/1, Latest win at Lingfield in February. 20/1, bit below form tenth of 16 in handicap at Lingfield (12f, AW) 45 days ago, though he did race wide having been hampered. Eased 2 lb back on turf. Eight-time AW winner but he was well held on Polytrack latest; others preferred. |

1st (1) (17/2 +15%) Richard P Smith |
17/2(+15%) | (1) Richard P Smith 17/2, Course winner. Sixth of 8 in handicap (4/1) at Lingfield (13f, AW). Off 6 months. Back down in trip and record fresh suggests he may just need this. Triple turf winner who still looks feasibly treated and needs a close look on his return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (12/1 -50%) Partisan Hero |
12/1(-50%) | (7) Partisan Hero 12/1, 10/1 and visored for first time, fifteenth of 19 in handicap at the Curragh (8f, soft). Off 7 months. Up in trip. First run for yard after leaving D. K. Weld having changed hands for £72,000. Ex-Irish; changed hands for 72,000gns and needs watching in market on stable debut. |

3rd (5) (5/2 +29%) Loughville |
5/2(+29%) | (5) Loughville 5/2, Lightly raced for her age and produced a career best when winning 13-runner handicap at Bath (10.2f, heavy, 13/2) 36 days ago, keeping on well having been short of room briefly. Likely to give it another good shot. Off the mark when scoring from off the pace at Bath last month; respected up 4lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (9/2 -29%) Desfondado |
9/2(-29%) | (3) Desfondado 9/2, Career best when winning 11-runner handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW, 5/1) 39 days ago, displaying a nice turn of foot. Well worth another go at this trip and a 3 lb rise is very fair back on grass. Finished well to score at Lingfield and he looks worth another try at this trip; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/2 +27%) Siempre Arturo |
11/2(+27%) | (4) Siempre Arturo 11/2, Doubled tally at Wolverhampton in March. 15/2, thirteenth of 16 in handicap at Lingfield (12f, AW) 45 days ago. Makes turf debut in a slightly easier band of handicap. 2-5 on AW but was disappointing last time and has bit to prove on this switch to turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (5/2 +55%) Abu Royal |
5/2(+55%) | (6) Abu Royal 5/2, Below form fourth of 16 in handicap (18/1) at Doncaster (11.9f, soft) 17 days ago, though an aggressive ride up in trip probably wasn't the order of the day. Well held back on turf last twice and he's now 1-13; others are more convincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (66/1 -164%) A Poet's Secret |
66/1(-164%) | (8) A Poet's Secret 66/1, Tongue strap on for first time, last of 8 in handicap at Doncaster (14.5f, soft, 28/1) 16 days ago. Significantly down in trip with cheekpieces on first time. Won at Lingfield (2m) in November but he's struggled since and has a lot to prove again. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
LAWN RANGER shaped as if in need of the outing at Kempton 12 days ago but Michael Attwater's charge, twice a winner over C&D under Robert Havlin last season, could find his sparkle now returned to this venue. Loughville was a narrow victor on soft ground at Bath last month but the form hasn't worked out particularly well, so a 4lb rise might seem harsh on that evidence. However, she remains open to further improvement and should not be underestimated, while Abu Royal is also noted.
DESFONDADO displayed a sharp turn of foot when successful at Lingfield a month ago< and on the back of that career-best effort, he makes plenty of follow-up appeal. Nasim's runner-up effort at Chelmsford was easily his best for his new connections and he lurks on a dangerous mark, with Loughville another in-form rival likely to give it another good shot.
Top of the list is the lightly raced 4yo LOUGHVILLE, who came good with a strong-finishing win at Bath and is open to more progress.

Worth monitoring in the betting. Unexposed 4yo; placed on her handicap debut in October and needs a close look for new yard. |

8/1(-129%) | (7) Budding 8/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Seventh of 9 in handicap at Yarmouth (10.1f, good, 10/3) 13 days ago, unsuited by way race developed. Open to improvement. Unexposed 3yo but she was disappointing last time and needs improvement at this new trip. |

3rd (6) (4/1 -33%) Free Speech |
4/1(-33%) | (6) Free Speech 4/1, Creditable second of 5 in handicap at this C&D (heavy, 9/1) 7 days ago. Expected to be bang there. Second over C&D latest but she needs to find something extra to get back on the scoresheet. |

4th (3) (14/1 -40%) Kissininthebackrow |
14/1(-40%) | (3) Kissininthebackrow 14/1, First run since leaving Anthony Charlton when below form seventh of 12 in handicap at this C&D (good to soft, 14/1) 14 days ago. Lightly raced since her novice win in January 2022 and was beaten 15l over C&D last month. |

9/2(+25%) | (1) Bloomwithgrace 9/2, 7/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (12f, AW) 33 days ago. Needs to bounce back. 13-race maiden who was laboured on AW last time and others are more convincing. |

6th (4) (9/1 -64%) Dovena |
9/1(-64%) | (4) Dovena 9/1, First run since leaving Amanda Perrett when creditable second of 8 in handicap at Bath (11.6f, firm, 22/1). Off 8 months. Claims if she can build on that stable debut. Went close on stable debut at Bath (11.6f) in September and she's respected on her return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (8/1 -14%) Mrembo |
8/1(-14%) | (5) Mrembo 8/1, C&D winner. Creditable third of 10 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm, 15/2), making effort earlier than ideal. Off 7 months. Claims if she's tuned up. Three wins in 2023 including over C&D; in the mix on her return. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
QUIETNESS ran with plenty of credit when coming from well off the pace to finish third over 1m3f at Kempton when last seen and, eased 1lb on her stable debut, she edges preference in what looks a competitive affair. Dovena only found a subsequent winner too good when finishing runner-up in a similar contest at Bath on her final start of last season and, provided she is fully tuned up on her return, she commands respect off a 1lb higher mark. The consistent Free Speech arrives on the back of a creditable second over C&D recently and she completes the shortlist off an unchanged mark.
BUDDING is bred to do be better than a mark of 60 and shaped encouragingly in adverse cirucmstances at Yarmouth on handicap debut. There's more to come from her and she takes preference over the in-form Free Speech and Dovena.
Preference is for dual turf winner DOVENA, who ended last season with a near miss at Bath and that form has worked out well.

(9) (10/1 +50%)10/1(+50%) | (9) Cloudy Breeze 10/1, Sixth of 9 in handicap (8/1) at Chelmsford City (6f). Off 7 months. Liable to need the run. Well held in final three runs last season and is now 0-9; others preferred. |

9/2(-13%) | (3) Inspired Knowhow 9/2, 16/1, good third of 8 in handicap at Yarmouth (6f, good to firm) 30 days ago. Booking of Doyle a plus. Should remain competitive. Placed at Yarmouth latest and could be dangerous if he gets a good pace on this drop to 5f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (5/2 +17%) Recon Mission |
5/2(+17%) | (2) Recon Mission 5/2, Eighteen runs since last win in 2022. Good second of 7 in handicap at Leicester (5f, heavy, 11/2) 16 days ago. Worth a chance to end his losing run in a weak race. Last win was in 2022 but he's on a reduced mark and was runner-up at Leicester last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (16/5 +36%) Phoenix Star |
16/5(+36%) | (1) Phoenix Star 16/5, Latest win at Newcastle in March. Respectable third of 7 in handicap at Wetherby (5.5f, soft, 6/1) 15 days ago. Should be on the premises. Two AW wins this year and creditable third at Wetherby last time; should go well again. |

4th (7) (7/1 +36%) Zing Up |
7/1(+36%) | (7) Zing Up 7/1, Unreliable type. 8/1 and visored for 1st time, respectable fifth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f). Off 6 months. Cheekpieces back on. Best form has been on AW and this is competitive back from a break; best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (12/1 +25%) Neptune Legend |
12/1(+25%) | (8) Neptune Legend 12/1, Latest win at Wolverhampton in February. 15/2, sixth of 8 in handicap at Brighton (7f, good) 12 days ago. Back down in trip. All wins have been at longer trips and he's 1-17 on turf; opposable. |

6th (10) (28/1 +44%) Hey Ho Let's Go |
28/1(+44%) | (10) Hey Ho Let's Go 28/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. 66/1, eighth of 12 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 28 days ago. Others more appealing. On long losing run and has finished down the field in last four runs; no appeal. |

7th (4) (15/2 +32%) Cabeza De Llave |
15/2(+32%) | (4) Cabeza De Llave 15/2, C&D winner. 1 win from 3 runs this year. Bit below form fifth of 9 in handicap (17/2) at Chelmsford City (5f) 74 days ago, slowly away. Not completely ruled out. Won at Chelmsford in February and didn't get any luck there latest; dangerous back on turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (10/1 -67%) Stryder |
10/1(-67%) | (6) Stryder 10/1, Creditable second of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f, 16/1). Off 113 days. One to consider for all that fitness isn't assured. Went close at Chelmsford in January and has claims if he can pick up where he left off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
RECON MISSION bounced right back to form when finishing a gallant second over 5f at Leicester last month, just giving best late on, and on forecast faster ground this time, Tony Carroll's charge may take some pegging back off an unchanged mark. Stryder can emerge as the main danger provided he can transfer his recent all-weather form to turf, while Inspired Knowhow's recent third over 6f at Yarmouth can be upgraded, as he was hampered early on, and a bold display here would be no surprise off a 1lb lower mark.
RECON MISSION found only one too good in testing conditions at Leicester 16 days ago and, for all he hasn't won for a while, he's worth a chance to go one better in a race that doesn't look all that strong. Phoenix Star is an obvious danger and Stryder can take a hand if he's fully tuned up.
The vote goes to RECON MISSION, who was runner-up off a much-reduced mark at Leicester and is a big player if he can back that up.
Ths is the racecard key.

Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
