1st (1) (7/1 -56%) Boher Road |
7/1(-56%) | (1) Boher Road 7/1, Twice-raced maiden over hurdles. Fairly useful winner at 10f on flat. 4/1, Last of 10 in handicap at Down Royal (10.3f, good to soft) 35 days ago, folding. Plenty of promise on completed start in this sphere. One to consider. Latest effort at Down Royal can be safely forgiven; should be thereabouts if at his best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

1.38/1(+21%) | (7) The Lovely Man 1.38/1, Promising type. Second of 23 in juvenile hurdle at Naas (16.3f, soft, 11/8) 155 days ago. Open to improvement and should take the beating. Touched off a short-head in a Naas maiden hurdle in March when last seen; should go close. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|PU| (13) (150/1 -127%) Dane Fete |
150/1(-127%) | (13) Dane Fete 150/1, Fair maiden on the Flat, making GB/IRE jumps debut. THE LOVELY MAN should be good enough to win here for local trainer Colm Murphy. A reproduction of his most recent effort when runner-up in a similar grade at Naas back in March would almost certainly suffice. Prior to that, the Mastercraftsman gelding had shown ability on two earlier runs. Although making his reappearance here after a break, the four-year-old has run well fresh in the past. Boher Road made a promising debut over hurdles when second at Killarney in May before unseating when sent off favourite next time. Provided that he is none the worse for that mishap, the Jarlath Fahey-trained gelding should be a leading contender. Smart flat handicapper Good Heavens shaped well on his initial foray over hurdles before finding the step into graded company too much on his second start. The Joseph O'Brien-trained gelding will find this easier.
THE LOVELY MAN boasts a progressive profile and already has the best form so, provided he's ready to go after 5 months off, he has an excellent chance to open his account. Boher Road looks the main danger and Good Heaven is likely to make his mark if he attracts market support.

14/1(+0%) | (9) No Show 14/1, Lightly-raced maiden over hurdles. Modest winner at 10f on flat. Good 6¼ lengths fourth of 9 to Prince of Air in handicap hurdle (20/1) at Tramore (16f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Good run at Tramore; that was just his second handicap and no surprise if he got closer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/1 +21%) Banada Bridge |
11/1(+21%) | (6) Banada Bridge 11/1, 25/1, respectable seventh of 12 in handicap hurdle at Sligo (17.4f, good to soft) 9 days ago. Merits consideration. Below her best on her last three starts and others look more likely. |

Good 2¼ lengths second of 9 to Prince of Air in handicap hurdle (3/1) at Tramore (16f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Worthy of respect. 6th (1) (7/1 -40%) Walk Out |
7/1(-40%) | (1) Walk Out 7/1, Tenth of 13 in maiden at Tramore (16f, good) on Flat debut 15 days ago. Shaped well when second in handicap hurdle there in May and looks capable of going one better. Should come on for his run in a Flat maiden last month and a player with Blackmore booked. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (13) (16/1 +20%) Katzoff |
16/1(+20%) | (13) Katzoff 16/1, 11/1, respectable eighth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan (18f, soft) 42 days ago. Not discounted. Winless from 23 starts and getting no closer to breaking his duck; others much preferred. |

9th (7) (50/1 +24%) Prince Quattro |
50/1(+24%) | (7) Prince Quattro 50/1, Ninth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan (16f, good to soft, 80/1) 20 days ago. Hard to make a solid case for. Modest maiden form and no show on his handicap debut at Kilbeggan; makes little appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (16/1 -60%) David's Lad |
16/1(-60%) | (4) David's Lad 16/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 9/1, bit below form 18¼ lengths fifth of 9 to Prince of Air in handicap hurdle at Tramore (16f, good to soft) 12 days ago. May come on for the run. Not disgraced but well beaten behind a few of these at Tramore last time; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (33/1 +0%) Cappacurry Croi |
33/1(+0%) | (12) Cappacurry Croi 33/1, Creditable tenth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe (16.6f, good, 33/1) 18 days ago. Others more persuasive. Modest overall form, including on her two efforts in handicaps; makes no real appeal here. |

9/1(+44%) | (2) Baby Chou 9/1, Eleventh of 15 in handicap hurdle (12/1) at Sligo (17.8f, good to soft) 22 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Others more persuasive. Needs to brush up her jumping but has ability; new headgear tried today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
PRINCE OF AIR can follow up his recent Tramore win with his accomplished jockey negating the penalty he picked up for that success. The Philip Rothwell-trained gelding was always to the fore before kicking on and taking control before the final flight. Similar tactics should work just as well around a tight track such as this. Mullins Cross filled the runner-up spot in that aforementioned race but won't find it easy to reverse the placings at these revised weights. Depeche Mo travelled strongly for a long way at Killarney last week before stamina limitations exposed the five-year-old late on. Now back over the trip at which he finished second on his only previous visit to this venue, the Eric Larkin-trained gelding rates a live danger.
WALK OUT looked ahead of her opening mark when second at Tramore in May and, fit from a spin on the Flat, she's worth chancing to open her account under Rachael Blackmore. Leroy Leroy and Prince of Air are the main dangers.

Likely to improve for shrewd yard. Stable in the limelight and very much among the winners; looks a leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

40/1(-82%) | (10) Paula's Prayer 40/1, Latest win in hurdle at Fairyhouse in April 2021. Tenth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Listowel (16f, good to soft, 12/1). Off 23 months. Up in trip. Returned to hurdles with narrow success at Fairyhouse in April 2021; off for two years. |

BRIDESWELL LAD appears to hold strong claims of giving trainer Seamus Neville a winner at his local track. The seven-year-old ran a huge race over fences on his latest start when sixth at the Galway festival. Although arguably not as good a horse over hurdles, the Shirocco gelding is difficult to ignore off a 31lb lower rating here. The Mass Path would have been a stronger fancy had connections decided to retain the headgear he wore when runner-up at Sligo last time. With that aid appearing to have brought about significant improvement, it is somewhat surprising that it is dispensed with here. Rockview Roman made a pleasing handicap debut when second at Sligo earlier this month. With the benefit of that experience, the John McConnell-trained seven-year-old should be right in the mix.
BRIDESWELL LAD is clearly a better chaser than hurdler but his mark reflects that so he's worth siding with. The Mass Path is a sure-fire improver now handicapping, with Rockview Roman another to consider.

SILENT APPROACH has every chance of registering a first career win in a race where on her best form she sets a decent standard. The Con O'Keeffe-trained mare finished third in a well contested Listed hurdle at Killarney in May but failed to back that run up when a beaten favourite at Listowel subsequently. Now stepped up markedly in trip for the first time, the five-year-old looks to hold strong claims. Workforadime was unlucky in running when the subject of a gamble at Kilbeggan in May but has failed to trouble the judge in two runs since then. The Charles Byrnes-trained mare is another that should appreciate the emphasis on stamina here. Lucky Storm would have gone very close at Tramore last time only for veering left and throwing her chance away at the final flight.
SILENT APPROACH sets a good standard on her placed effort in listed company and in the hope she can shrug off a lesser effort last time, she looks the way to go upped in trip. Coole Cherry failed to meet expectations at Sligo but is sure to do better, with Lucky Storm another to note.

8.5/1(-42%) | (1) I A Connect 8.5/1, Useful chaser. 1 win from 3 runs this season. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, career best when winning 6-runner novice chase (4/1) at Tipperary (16.8f, soft) 59 days ago, digging deep. Narrowly landed a 2m1f beginners chase at Tipperary in July; more needed here but capable. |

6th (3) (3.33/1 -48%) Uncle Phil |
3.33/1(-48%) | (3) Uncle Phil 3.33/1, Useful chaser. 1 win from 2 runs this season. 5/2, didn't need to be at best when winning 7-runner novice chase at Kilbeggan (19.4f, good) 74 days ago, easily. Open to improvement. This is tougher but his jumping was good at Kilbeggan and that will be an important factor. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Time To Rocco is likely to struggle, but a case can be made for the remaining five. It's somewhat surprising to see Uncle Phil return to Wexford, with Patrick Mullins commenting after his recent Kilbeggan success: "This track suited him much better, a flatter track. Wexford was a bit too stiff for him, he likes to get on with it." I A Connect finished behind Uncle Phil at the Co Westmeath venue and while since successful at Tipperary, he might find it difficult to reverse the form. The admirable Effernock Fizz ran another fine race when second at Ballinrobe on Monday and with Carl Millar again claiming a valuable 7lb, she should give a good account of herself. Bidding to complete a four-timer, Lucky Zebo faces his toughest task to date, but it'll come as no surprise if he manages to prevail. While disappointing at Galway, JOYEUX MACHIN is given the chance to redeem himself. The locally trained six-year-old clearly acts well around Bettyville and can take this quality affair.
LUCKY ZEBO was progressive over hurdles during the spring and took another step forward when scoring in good style on his chase debut back from a two-month break at at Kilbeggan. He clearly has a bright future in this sphere and is taken to get the better of another promising recruit in Uncle Phil, who also landed a maiden chase at Kilbeggan where he produced an impressive round of jumping. Effernock Fizz is best of the rest.

7/1(-75%) | (1) Downtown Queen 7/1, Fairly useful winner at 20f over hurdles. Very good second of 11 in handicap chase (11/2) at this course (19.8f, heavy) 21 days ago. Enters calculations. Fine run on C&D handicap debut three weeks ago; 4lb higher but should be a major player. |

7th (12) (18/1 +10%) Neptunus Equester |
18/1(+10%) | (12) Neptunus Equester 18/1, Bit below form seventh of 13 in handicap chase at Roscommon (21.3f, soft, 33/1) 24 days ago. Stable in good form. Is 4lb out of the handicap but yard is in fine form so can't be ruled out. |

8th (9) (33/1 +0%) Echoes Of Family |
33/1(+0%) | (9) Echoes Of Family 33/1, One win from 28 NH runs. Pulled up in handicap chase at Roscommon (21.3f, soft, 20/1) 24 days ago. Made a mistake and pulled-up in testing ground on recent return but can be forgiven that. |

9th (6) (20/1 -100%) Robyndeglory |
20/1(-100%) | (6) Robyndeglory 20/1, Fair winner at 24f over hurdles. Fourth of 9 in novice chase at Tramore (21.7f, soft, 20/1) 12 days ago. Visor back on. Makes handicap chase debut. Difficult ask. Should have improved from last time after a break and of some interest entering handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (40/1 -43%) Black Samurai |
40/1(-43%) | (2) Black Samurai 40/1, C&D winner. 40/1, eighth of 11 in handicap chase at Kilbeggan (24.4f, good to soft) 20 days ago. Tailed-off on return from a long absence last time and can only be watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (7) (4/1 -14%) Search For A Myth |
4/1(-14%) | (7) Search For A Myth 4/1, Promising sort. 2 wins from 3 runs this season. Creditable fifth of 18 in handicap hurdle (7/2) at Cork (18.7f, good to soft) 25 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Shortlist material. Not a bad run off a higher mark over hurdles at Cork and should run well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (66/1 -65%) Downthecellar |
66/1(-65%) | (3) Downthecellar 66/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2021. Pulled up in handicap chase (20/1) at this course (19.8f, heavy) 21 days ago, soon beaten. Below form this term and pulled-up over C&D last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SEARCH FOR A MYTH has turned a corner this season, winning two of her three starts to date. Successful here in May, she followed-up at Tipperary before finishing a close fifth of 18 on her latest outing at Cork. Mixing it between hurdles and fences, the Flemensfirth six-year-old looks well-capable of winning a race of this standard. With Paddy O'Hanlon claiming a valuable 5lb, Early Arrival is given second preference. While she has just one win to her name from 29 career starts, she has been running well of late and can make her presence felt. Beaten by just half-a-length over the course and distance on her most recent start, Downtown Queen is sure to have plenty of supporters and it'll come as no surprise if she manages to prevail. Lake Chad also filled the runner-up spot at Tramore and while that was an excellent effort, he hasn't managed to win a race in well over a year. Robyndeglory warrants respect on her handicap debut over fences, while Rebel Waltz is another for the shortlist.
There should be better to come from SEARCH FOR A MYTH, who opened her chase account at the second attempt at Tipperary in July and there was nothing wrong with effort in a big-field handicap hurdle at Cork next time. Rebel Waltz was placed off this mark at Killarney last week and is second choice now back down in trip, while Downtown Queen and Early Arrival are others with claims.

3rd (11) (11/1 -47%) Courting Vickie |
11/1(-47%) | (11) Courting Vickie 11/1, Unreliable type. 10/1, creditable third of 13 in handicap chase at Roscommon (21.3f, soft) 24 days ago. Decent effort when third at Roscommon; probably stays this trip and can go well. |

5.5/1(+0%) | (8) Tennessee Titan 5.5/1, Bit below form fifth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Tramore (21.1f, good, 7/2) 91 days ago. Makes chase debut. Makes handicap chase debut. Point' winner seemed to stay this trip over hurdles and can't rule out on chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (10/1 +29%) Chelseas Friend |
10/1(+29%) | (5) Chelseas Friend 10/1, Fifteen runs since last win in 2021. Modest winner at 25f over hurdles. 18/1, third of 15 in handicap chase at Tramore (21.6f, heavy) 14 days ago. Not bad effort at Tramore last time; better ground today should suit; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (11/1 +56%) Corrigaleen |
11/1(+56%) | (12) Corrigaleen 11/1, Pulled up in handicap hurdle (18/1) at Tramore (20.5f, good) 15 days ago, losing touch before 3 out. Switches from hurdles to chase. Up in trip. Booking of O'Callaghan a plus. Maiden in all spheres makes no appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (20/1 -67%) Full Noise |
20/1(-67%) | (3) Full Noise 20/1, 1 win from 3 runs this season. 18/1, first run since leaving Ronan M. P. McNally when seventh of 11 in handicap chase at Tramore (15.7f, soft) 12 days ago, inadequate test. Significantly up in trip. Well beaten at Tramore on debut for this yard and has to rebound. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
RUDY CATRAIL has been in fine form of late and looks the safest option in this low-grade affair. The likeable front-runner claimed this very race four years ago and registered a fifth track success when delivering on his penultimate start at Roscommon. He again bravely attempted to make all at Kilbeggan on Friday of last week and while ultimately failing to hold off Winnie Woodnutt, he was 35-lengths clear of the third. Tennessee Titan is given second preference, racing off his hurdles mark of 91. The locally trained seven-year-old has a point-to-point win to his name and should be able to make an impact in a contest of this quality. North Of Nashville has a similar profile and with Jordan Gainford a positive jockey booking, it'll be interesting to see how she fares. Top-weight Room To Roam, course winner Ocean Legacy and Roscommon third Courting Vickie are other leading hopes.
A first taste of success over fences could be on the cards for ROOM TO ROAM, who went close at Tipperary on his penultimate start before doing too much too soon at Kilbeggan. He remains on a workable mark and has conditions in his favour. William of Wykeham has failed to make an impact in three qualifying runs in this sphere but is likely to be seen in a better light now pitched into a handicap and is second choice ahead of Rudy Catrail and Courting Vickie.
Ths is the racecard key.
