17:25 Wetherby Maiden (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Territorial Knight may find this to be easier than last month's introduction in a higher grade at York, while Sun Petal ran well for a long way at Salisbury before fading in the closing stages. However, Richard Fahey sent out a newcomer to win this race 12 months ago and YES I'M MALI, who is out of a debut winner, could make a bold bid on his racecourse bow.

Not a deep-looking maiden and it would be no surprise to see YES I'M MALI emulate his dam and make a successful debut in these colours. Territorial Knight showed a bit in a warm race at York first time up and could improve plenty, while Mavetheforcebewivu is another interesting newcomer.

An unappealing betting race and CRIMSON LAD is tentatively preferred to Yes I'm Mali.

18:00 Wetherby Maiden (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

TEES AGGREGATES was slowly away at Doncaster on his racecourse bow and was also hampered in the early stages. The son of Earthlight was doing is best work at the finish, and a smoother passage here could see him in the mix in a open contest. Redcar fourth, Hickton, may finish closer on this faster going, while Lesley's Boy debuted at York and is another to consider. River Blackwater and An Realta Carraig make most appeal of the newcomers.

LESLEY'S BOY showed a bit in a useful-looking novice at York on debut a fortnight ago and could take a big step forward for Richard Fahey. He gets the vote ahead of appealing newcomers River Blackwater and An Realta Carraig, for whom the betting could be informative.

Hickton and LESLEY'S BOY may be open to the greatest improvement and the latter can build on his York seventh.

18:30 Wetherby Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Both Tiaraqueen and Apocalyx made promising debuts last year but failed to build on those efforts on their next starts. The former makes most appeal of that pair, but TRANSITIONING looks a safer proposition. Andrew Balding's charge won at Doncaster with plenty left in the tank on debut last month and may well defy a 7lb penalty. Spring Festival is a half-brother to an Italian Derby winner, while Thunder Run and Fox Spirit are other newcomers to note.

TRANSITIONING made a bright start at Doncaster 6 weeks ago, winning readily, and might be able to make it 2-2 with improvement forthcoming. Warrior's Dance and Fox Spirit head up a number of interesting newcomers, while Tiaraqueen and Apocalyx return following disappointing efforts on the back of promising debuts.

Another chance is given to TIARAQUEEN, who should still do better. Apocalyx, a similar type, is second choice

19:00 Wetherby Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Now that the penny has dropped for ATLANTIC GAMBLE, after a comfortable success at Kempton last month, there could be more improvement forthcoming from the son of Lightning Spear, and he can strike on the return to turf. A highly-encouraging second over C&D last time out, John L Sullivan looks to be his main danger on quicker ground, along with First Encounter, who has been runner-up on his last two starts.

Preference is for ATLANTIC GAMBLE, who got off the mark in a Kempton handicap last month and remains low mileage. First Encounter and Mist Rollin In head the list of dangers.

The form of the C&D handicap in which JOHN L SULLIVAN finished second in April has received numerous boosts and he can go one better.

19:30 Wetherby Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

HURT YOU NEVER regained the winning thread with a taking performance at Ripon last month and the slight rise in distance could see her in an even better light as she looks to double up. Oneforsue arrives with similar claims, having broken her maiden in comfortable fashion over 6f at Redcar last June, while Angle Land should be able to build on a strong placed effort at Goodwood last month.

HURT YOU NEVER was well on top at the finish when scoring at Ripon last month and may be able to follow up. Angle Land and Daytona Lady can also make their presence felt.

Angle Land and Hurt You Never are solid options but DAYTONA LADY is potentially well treated on a rare turf outing.

20:00 Wetherby Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

OWN ACCORD can go some way to repaying the faith of her connections, having started her career in April at the age of four. The daughter of Pivotal was value for more than the winning margin when scoring here last time out over 7f and the step up in trip looks like a good move on her handicap debut. Newmarket second Victoria Falls and the capable Carolus Magnus are the dangers.

COVERT LEGEND was an eye-catcher at Thirsk 3 weeks ago, not clear run on more than one occasion and finishing on the bridle, and he's worth another chance given he's lightly raced on turf. Unexposed Own Accord, Copper And Five and Victoria Falls are dangers.

Today's ground is an unknown but OWN ACCORD is potentially a cut above this level.

20:30 Wetherby Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Berry Clever hit the frame in a warm race at Newmarket last month and he makes obvious appeal off an unchanged mark, but MARCHING MAC is preferred. The son of Invincible Army found improvement when sent handicapping for the first time at Brighton a fortnight ago, finishing second, and a subsequent 3lb rise might underestimate him. Others to note include Chatty and Louella.

CHATTY was an eyecatcher on his reappearance and is taken to build on that promise from a handy inside draw. Berry Clever shaped well from further back than ideal at Newmarket last time and is second choice ahead of Marching Mac, who made a good start to his handicap career at Brighton recently.

A maiden handicap in all but name. MARCHING MAC (nap) may well build on his Brighton effort and Berry Clever is second choice.

21:00 Wetherby Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Chilled Out, Life On The Rocks and LASER FOCUS all arrive in search of their hat-tricks and the latter shades preference. James Owen's charge overcame traffic problems to score at Lingfield a fortnight ago and a 9lb hike in the ratings does not look insurmountable for this son of Sea The Stars. Achernar steps up two furlongs on his handicap bow and is worth a market check.

LIFE ON THE ROCKS stormed clear when equipped with a visor at Ayr last week and will take a bit of stopping if in similar form. Fellow hat-trick seekers Chilled Out and Laser Focus can give him most to do in a warm race for the grade.

Three hat-trick seekers spice up this 0-70 apprentice handicap. CHILLED OUT has been treated kindest by the handicapper.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
