1st (3) (7/2 +50%) Track And Trace |
7/2(+50%) | (3) Track And Trace 7/2, Expensive purchase who showed a bit more on hurdles debut at Chepstow (19.4f) 11 months ago. Off again after but should improve if all is well. Made quite promising hurdle debut at Chepstow last October; not seen again since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (11/2 -120%) Mikimoto |
11/2(-120%) | (6) Mikimoto 11/2, 9/2, overcame apparent inexperience to make a winning debut in Hereford bumper in February. Sold from Henry Daly £46,000 in March. Up in trip for hurdles debut and rates a fair prospect for jumping. Bought for £46,000 after winning Hereford bumper in February; stable/hurdle debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (4/7 +15%) Hands Off |
4/7(+15%) | (1) Hands Off 4/7, Made a good start over hurdles last term, the form of his Ascot second and Doncaster fourth proving solid enough. Blotted his copybook when running out at Doncaster when last seen in January (was going well) but worth another chance with this stiffer test likely to suit. Blotted copybook when running out last time but sets a clear form standard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (14/1 +65%) Archie Macdart |
14/1(+65%) | (4) Archie Macdart 14/1, Showed a bit up in trip after 4 months off at Stratford (22f) last month but was no match for the veteran winner. Plenty more needed on these terms. Left behind by easy winning when second in uncompetitive race last month; tough task. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (28/1 +15%) Time For A Pint |
28/1(+15%) | (2) Time For A Pint 28/1, Irish point winner well held in 2 runs over hurdles last term. Staying handicaps will be his bag. Awarded an Irish point in early 2022 but well beaten in first two hurdle races. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
HANDS OFF may not be one for maximum faith after running out at the third-last hurdle at Doncaster in January, but Nicky Henderson's gelding is a clear choice based on his best form and looks the one to beat on his return to action. Mikimoto made the perfect start to his racing career when landing a bumper at Hereford in February and could give the selection something to think about now tackling hurdles for new connections, ahead of Track And Trace, who will need to settle better.
HANDS OFF blotted his copybook when running out when last seen in January but he's made a good start over hurdles otherwise and can make a successful return with the stiffer test sure to suit him. Mikimoto looks a fair hurdles prospect for his new yard after landing a Hereford bumper in February and is the danger.
Assuming there is no repeat of his antics at Doncaster in January, HANDS OFF has a very good opportunity to open his account here.

1st (4) (9/2 +0%) Uggy Uggy Uggy |
9/2(+0%) | (4) Uggy Uggy Uggy 9/2, Going the right way and opened account in convincing style in novice at Stratford (18.7f) in July. Hit the frame both starts since and return to 2m shouldn't be an issue. Won readily at Stratford in July and has made the frame in two Class 3 races since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (15/8 -25%) Myristica |
15/8(-25%) | (1) Myristica 15/8, Fairly useful Flat performer who has taken very well to hurdles this summer, completing a maiden/novice hat-trick at Worcester. Shaped as though still in top form switched to handicap company at Market Rasen and this is a pretty big drop in class. Triple novice hurdle winner this season and creditable fourth in good handicap last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (9/2 +18%) Forget The Way |
9/2(+18%) | (2) Forget The Way 9/2, Steady improver (on back of wind op) over hurdles, confirming previous promise when landing 8-runner novices' handicap at Worcester (2m) last month, asserting final 100 yds. Matched that form when second in a messy 3-runner contest at Fontwell since. Came good at Worcester last month and subsequent odds-on defeat is not viewed harshly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7/2 +42%) Allbetsoff |
7/2(+42%) | (3) Allbetsoff 7/2, Responded well when opening account at Southwell in June and better than ever reverting to positive tactics when doubling tally at Hexham 19 days. Up 7 lb but did it nicely so he has to command respect. Won easily by 18l from the front at Hexham this month; 7lb rise could have been worse. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (25/1 -56%) Borderline |
25/1(-56%) | (5) Borderline 25/1, Placed twice from 3 starts in bumpers (fair form) and left previous efforts over hurdles behind when fourth at Newton Abbot a month ago. Needs to build on that switched to a handicap. Improved form when fourth at Newton Abbot last month; makes handicap debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (15/2 +0%) Choirmaster |
15/2(+0%) | (7) Choirmaster 15/2, Fairly useful on Flat and in good nick in this sphere since undergoing a wind op, winning a Bangor handicap last month. Fitted with cheekpieces and spurned a good opening back at that venue recently, carrying head awkwardly and headed late. Won at Bangor last month (front pair clear) and close third there off new mark since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (16/1 +43%) Moneynabane |
16/1(+43%) | (6) Moneynabane 16/1, Yet to win a race and took a backward step when fifth at Perth a fortnight ago. Placed over 2m5f two starts ago and didnt run badly back at 2m last time; others preferred. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Allbetsoff proved a different proposition when making all with ease at Hexham earlier this month and the seven-year-old may be up to defying a 7lb rise in the ratings. However, the form of MYRISTICA's runner-up effort in the Summer Hurdle at Market Rasen looks a touch stronger. David Pipe's mare goes off the same mark here and is fancied to return to winning ways for a fourth success of the season here. Fellow in-form rivals Forget The Way and Choirmaster are also worth a second look.
This looks a strong race for the grade with MYRISTICA the most compelling option on the back of an excellent handicap debut at Market Rasen. The drop back to 2m looks a good move at this stage of Uggy Uggy Uggy's career and he's a threat, along with Allbetsoff.
David Pipe's mare MYRISTICA drops in grade after a very good fourth in the always-competitive Summer Hurdle and she gets the vote.

1st (2) (4/1 -33%) Are U Wise To That |
4/1(-33%) | (2) Are U Wise To That 4/1, Easy success on Uttoxeter hurdling debut last October. Signed off with good third of 15 in handicap hurdle at Chepstow in February. Much respected on chasing debut. Placed on handicap hurdle debut in February and quickly switches to fences here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (9/4 +44%) Notnowlinda |
9/4(+44%) | (7) Notnowlinda 9/4, Dual 2m hurdles winner last season and signed off with a creditable fourth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Perth (20.2f, good to soft) 152 days ago. Possibilities on her chase debut. 2-6 over hurdles last season; this Irish point winner is an interesting recruit to chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/2 -10%) Gold Link |
11/2(-10%) | (1) Gold Link 11/2, In excellent form over fences, scoring at Stratford in July and just edged out there (20.9f, soft) 25 days ago. Player off an unchanged mark. Comfortable winner at Stratford in July and last month's close second was also a good run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (12/1 -100%) Glajou |
12/1(-100%) | (6) Glajou 12/1, 10/3, improved to win 7-runner handicap chase at Worcester (20f, soft) 13 days ago, cruising clear. Unreliable sort overall, though. Has mixed record this year but won quite easily by 12l at Worcester a fortnight ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (25/1 -108%) Romanor |
25/1(-108%) | (5) Romanor 25/1, Yet to score this season but comes here in good form, second of 4 in handicap chase at Newton Abbot (16.3f, good, 9/2) 23 days ago, finishing fast. Back up in trip. Not taken lightly. Not quite at best this season but went close at Newton Abbot this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (20/1 -25%) Feuille De Lune |
20/1(-25%) | (8) Feuille De Lune 20/1, Winning pointer who also scored on her debut over fences in hunter at Cheltenham last April. Came in last of 4 in handicap chase at Ludlow (20f, good to soft, 13/8) 152 days ago so needs to get back on track. 0-4 for stable but ran big race before last-fence fall at Bangor in March; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (18/1 +10%) Kadex |
18/1(+10%) | (10) Kadex 18/1, Won twice over hurdles in France last season and in good heart for current yard until pulled up in 3m handicap hurdles at Musselburgh/Southwell on his last two starts. More is needed now going chasing. Pulled up over hurdles on final two starts last season; hard to predict on chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (7/1 +42%) Haas Boy |
7/1(+42%) | (3) Haas Boy 7/1, In decent nick over hurdles last term, failing to stay 3m when sixth of 12 at Newbury 6 months ago. One to consider now going over fences. Unlucky not to win over hurdles in December but not in same form afterwards; chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (13/2 +7%) Stans The Man |
13/2(+7%) | (4) Stans The Man 13/2, Fair winner at 19f over hurdles who posted a creditable second of 9 in handicap hurdle at Ffos Las (20f, good to soft) 153 days ago. Makes chase debut and can't be discounted. Bumper/hurdle winner last season; could easily have more to offer over fences this term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (22/1 -83%) Blaze A Trail |
22/1(-83%) | (9) Blaze A Trail 22/1, Rattled off a five-timer over fences last term but yet to score this time around, second of 5 in handicap chase at Stratford (19.4f, soft) 25 days ago. Can go well again though here eased 1 lb. Won five chases in a row in 2022 but last month's remote second at Stratford was below par. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
There are a few to consider here, with a tentative vote going to chasing debutant NOTNOWLINDA. The Dan Skelton-trained mare finished a respectable fourth over hurdles at Perth in April and, as a winner of her sole point-to-point starts, gives the impression that she could come into her own now entering this sphere. Are U Wise To That is another potential improver on his first appearance over fences, while Gold Link has five chase runs to his name and sets a fair standard to aim at.
GOLD LINK comes here in great nick and is fancied to go one better than his recent Stratford second and bag a second success in this sphere off an unchanged mark. Dan Skelton's chasing newcomer Notnowlinda could emerge as the chief threat ahead of in-form Romanor and another chasing debutant Are U Wise To That.
Preference is for GOLD LINK, who lost out only narrowly in a tactical race last month and could still have a bigger run in him.

1st (6) (9/1 +44%) Alexandra Romanov |
9/1(+44%) | (6) Alexandra Romanov 9/1, Latest win in hurdle at Fontwell in December. Pulled up there next time however and hasn't been seen for 7 months. 2-5 over hurdles; not seen since a poor run in January but can't be ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4/1 +0%) Nibras Gold |
4/1(+0%) | (2) Nibras Gold 4/1, Fair stayer on the Flat who doubled his tally in this sphere back from 9 months off (had wind op) in handicap at Ffos Las in May. Good in-the-frame efforts all starts since, runner-up at Southwell on latest, and should go well again if he gets the trip. Has remained in good form since 2m win in May; might benefit from this step up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (14/1 -17%) Glengeever |
14/1(-17%) | (5) Glengeever 14/1, Point winner/dual winner over hurdles who has placed a few times over fences without fully convincing with his jumping or attitude. Might benefit from this switch back to the smaller obstacles. Ran quite well in a recent chase and is on a good hurdle mark but others look safer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (25/1 -79%) Solo Saxophone |
25/1(-79%) | (1) Solo Saxophone 25/1, Won twice over hurdles at Worcester last summer but has struggled for form after 7 months off this season, pulled up on his last 3 starts including back over hurdles last time. Out of sorts under all codes this year; leap of faith required to support him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (2/1 -6%) Gwennie May Boy |
2/1(-6%) | (3) Gwennie May Boy 2/1, Fair hurdler who got right back on track when making all in convincing fashion at Ludlow 139 days ago. Good chance he can follow up if he returns in the same mood. Made all at Ludlow in May and has scope for further progress if tuned up after break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (7/4 +13%) Presenting Pete |
7/4(+13%) | (4) Presenting Pete 7/4, 7/2, career best when winning 6-runner handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (19.9f, good) 26 days ago, readily. On the upgrade and can follow up. Kept on well to score by 5l at Uttoxeter last month and 5lb rise looks manageable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A taking winner at Ludlow on his latest outing, preference is for GWENNIE MAY BOY as he returns from a summer break. The form of that race has worked out well in the interim and a 6lb rise may not be enough to prevent him going in again. An easy winner himself at Uttoxeter last month, Presenting Pete is open to further improvement, while the consistent Nibras Gold cannot be ruled out either.
PRESENTING PETE had something to spare when scoring at Uttoxeter and he's fancied to go in again at the likely expense of Gwennie May Boy, another comfortable last-time-out winner. Nibras Gold is also considered.
The most obvious answer is PRESENTING PETE, who comes here after winning in pretty good style at Uttoxeter last month.

1st (3) (9/1 -38%) Ben Buie |
9/1(-38%) | (3) Ben Buie 9/1, Enjoyed a productive spell towards the end of 2022/23 campaign, making it 3 wins from 4 starts when successful at Fakenham in February. However, subsequent efforts have left much to be desired and now finds himself with a fair bit to prove. Engaged 4.20 Plumpton Sunday. Triple chase winner last season; ran well to a point last month; might be on the way back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (8/1 +11%) Monoxide |
8/1(+11%) | (6) Monoxide 8/1, Winner on the Flat but record stands at 0-31 over jumps. Conversely, this Irish raider is feasibly treated judged on bits and pieces of form, and he's dangerous to discount in a race devoid of a standout candidate. Cheekpieces refitted. Just a respectable sixth over hurdles this month and now 0-34 over jumps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/1 -17%) Jet Of Dreams |
7/1(-17%) | (4) Jet Of Dreams 7/1, Point winner who returned to form in first-time cheekpieces when second of 12 in handicap chase at Worcester (16.5f, good) last month. Added to patchy record when pulled up in the Stratford race won by Famoso next time but definite chance here if on a going day. Clear second in first-time cheekpieces two runs ago but not in same form last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (5/2 +38%) Stroll On By |
5/2(+38%) | (1) Stroll On By 5/2, Performed to a fair level in bumpers in 2021/22 and made the frame on 4 of his 6 starts over hurdles last season. Starts out over fences here off what looks a reasonable mark but will almost certainly need to improve for the switch to this sphere if he's to take this. Placed twice off 3lb higher over hurdles at start of year; makes seasonal/chase debut here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (7/1 -56%) Famoso |
7/1(-56%) | (5) Famoso 7/1, Finally opened his account (at the 17th time of asking under Rules) when mastering Tikkinthebox close home at Stratford (17f, soft) last month. Deserves credit for rallying in the way he did, having looked held turning for home, but he's not an obvious type to follow up. Kept on well to collar Tikkinthebox at Stratford last month and is only 2lb higher here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (14/1 +58%) Uncle O |
14/1(+58%) | (9) Uncle O 14/1, Sole success to date was registered in a Market Rasen handicap chase back in July 2021 and he's opposable on the back of a poor effort there last month, In the frame several times over fences since last summer but yet to add to his 2021 win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (6/1 +63%) Lonimoss Bareliere |
6/1(+63%) | (7) Lonimoss Bareliere 6/1, Still seeking first taste of success and latest effort at Worcester wasn't one of his better ones. However, the 2½m trip appeared to stretch him on that occasion and he did finish second in back-to-back 2m handicap chases at Uttoxeter in June/July. 0-11 over fences but has his conditions here and is on a good mark (even though 3lb wrong). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (15/2 -150%) Tikkinthebox |
15/2(-150%) | (2) Tikkinthebox 15/2, Winless since April 2021 but has refound some form of late, hitting the crossbar in handicap chases at Newton Abbot and then at Stratford (17f, soft) where he was collared late on by the re-opposing Famoso. One to consider. Not the force of old but second on slower-than-ideal ground the last twice; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (40/1 +20%) Mawlood |
40/1(+20%) | (10) Mawlood 40/1, Dual hurdles winner in 2021 but little to shout about since, both in this sphere and over fences. Has undergone a third wind op since latest start and he's 8 lb 'wrong' at the weights here. Out of form this year and can't be recommended from 8lb out of the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (16/1 +27%) Cheer's Delboy |
16/1(+27%) | (8) Cheer's Delboy 16/1, Long-standing maiden who posted his best effort for a while when second back chasing here at the end of May but hasn't been able to reproduce it in his 2 outings since. Has claims if judged on 2m4f second here in May but overall record is very unconvincing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Famoso got up to win by a neck last time out at Stratford, where he had TIKKINTHEBOX a neck behind him, but he is yet to race here and may not be able to confirm that form over a furlong shorter. The selection should be fully wound up after two runs this summer and although unlikely to be improving at the age of 11, he is a C&D winner and may have one more win off an attractive mark. Jet Of Dreams has some solid placed form without a win under Rules and may follow them home in third.
There is a degree of guesswork involved here, with question marks pretty much all round. MONOXIDE's 0-31 record over jumps hardly sets the pulse racing but he wasn't disgraced off a higher hurdles mark at Perth last time and could be worth chancing. Though Jet of Dreams misfired in the Stratford race in which Famoso and Tikkinthebox occupied the first two places, he would be a big player if reproducing the form of his penultimate start. Lonimoss Bareliere also has a fighting chance.
It's worth chancing LONIMOSS BARELIERE, who has been running fairly well in recent months and has conditions to suit here.

1st (2) (10/3 -11%) Sea The Clouds |
10/3(-11%) | (2) Sea The Clouds 10/3, Bumper/2m novice hurdle winner last September and underlined this is his time of year when taking a Worcester handicap at the end of August. Respected up 4 lb. Rallied well for 2m4f win last month; up 4lb; tries a new trip today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (11/4 +45%) Edison Kent |
11/4(+45%) | (7) Edison Kent 11/4, Winner of a big-field Killarney maiden hurdle for Jessica Harrington back in May 2021. Largely struggled since but better signs since joining James Owen, finishing over 23f at Worcester last Monday. Considered from the same mark. Did not have race run to suit when second at Worcester a week ago; runs off same mark here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (9/1 +44%) Pottlerath |
9/1(+44%) | (8) Pottlerath 9/1, Successful 3 times over hurdles during 2022 and sprouted wings over fences at the start of the summer, completing a hat-trick (second leg here). Lower mark over hurdles but he was only fifth returned to the smaller obstacles at Worcester recently. Triple chase winner in spring but safely held when returned to hurdles two weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (7/2 +0%) Pinnacle Peak |
7/2(+0%) | (5) Pinnacle Peak 7/2, Completed a hat-trick in handicap hurdles in summer 2021. Didn't take to fences last winter but quickly back on track returned to hurdles, seeing off the thriving Secret Trix at Worcester 3 weeks ago. 4 lb rise could prove lenient. Outbattled bang-in-form rival to win three weeks ago; still unexposed as a stayer; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (5/1 +17%) Nickelsonthedime |
5/1(+17%) | (1) Nickelsonthedime 5/1, C&D winner in May and went in again at Newton Abbot in July. 17/2, good third of 8 in handicap hurdle at Worcester (23f, soft) 13 days ago. Ought to be in the mix again. Two wins this season (one over 3m2f here); still in good form; probably in the mix again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (20/1 -67%) Blakeney Point |
20/1(-67%) | (6) Blakeney Point 20/1, Unreliable type who scored over 23f at Bangor last summer. One off his better efforts since when third of 7 back at Bangor (23f again) 3 weeks ago. No good thing to back it up. Not at best this season but kept on pretty well for third at Bangor last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (25/1 -56%) Decoration Of War |
25/1(-56%) | (9) Decoration Of War 25/1, Showed little promise in 4 starts over fences last summer and yet to really get going this time either, including back hurdling. Didn't run badly over fences last month but has become very unreliable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (12/1 -118%) Chives |
12/1(-118%) | (3) Chives 12/1, Made it 4 wins in 5 starts when seeing off 9 rivals at Ludlow last October. Well below that level in 2 subsequent outings last season but capable of bouncing back after a break. Performed poorly on last two outings; hard to predict but current mark is workable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Good News would have a big say if he can bounce back to form after a distant fifth at Fontwell in May, having won nine times over hurdles and six of them came over three miles or further. He can go well off this mark but preference is still for the lightly-raced PINNACLE PEAK. A winner at Worcester on his return, he has been put up 4lb for that but this step up in trip may spark further improvement. The returning Chives has gone well fresh before and is another for the shortlist for a top stable.
A 4lb rise for PINNACLE PEAK's Worcester success looks more than fair given that he pulled clear with the thriving Secret Trix. The autumn seems to bring out the best in Sea The Clouds and he's another last-time-out winner who still looks nicely treated from his revised mark so he's second choice ahead of last week's Worcester runner-up Edison Kent.
A recent second, in a race not run to suit, suggested EDISON KENT (nap) is ready to win if/when he gets a stronger pace to chase.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
