LTO Selection:

13:35 Uttoxeter Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Point-to-point winner WADE OUT readily beat two subsequent winners when getting off the mark on his Rules debut in a Market Rasen bumper in March, and this promising son of Shantou looks the one to be with on his hurdling debut. Runner-up in a Listed hurdle for juveniles at Aintree on his penultimate start, Knight Of Allen was on target at Chepstow when last seen and he must enter calculations. Sonification seemingly hasn't been the easiest to train, but he could land a blow if he is fully tuned up on his first start for almost two years.

WADE OUT looked promising when making a successful start to his Rules career in a Market Rasen bumper in the spring and can follow up on hurdle debut. Sonification has been off the track for 2 years but still rates a promising new recruit for the in-form Harry Derham stable and is feared more than penalised 4-y-o Knight of Allen.

Wade Out ought to make his mark in novice hurdles very soon but KNIGHT OF ALLEN sets a pretty good standard here.

LTO Selection:

14:10 Uttoxeter Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GET THE BEAT gets a tentative vote. He made a pleasing start when finishing runner-up in a Wetherby bumper in March and, having subsequently been snapped up by the Dan Skelton team, it would be no surprise if he were able to go one place better on his hurdling debut. 72,000-euro purchase Jackpot D'ainay performed with credit in a bumper when second over 2m at Huntingdon towards the back end of last season and he looks the main danger. Windsurfer is respected most of the remainder.

GET THE BEAT showed plenty when runner-up in a bumper for Tom Weston 6 months ago and he's joined top connections since, so he's marginally preferred to Windsurfer, who made a solid start to life over hurdles at Warwick five months ago. Diamonds For Luck also merits consideration.

This may be fought out by Jackpot D'Ainay and GET THE BEAT, who both finished second in soft-ground bumpers in March.

Dual hurdle winner who won two novice handicap chases last term; could go well.
LTO Selection:

14:45 Uttoxeter Handicap Chase (Class 3) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

A race in which few can be confidently ruled out, so only a tentative vote goes to HOE JOLY SMOKE. Dan Skelton's charge shaped with plenty of promise when finishing second on his handicap hurdling debut in a hot race at Newbury last winter, and this mark could prove to be well within range on his chasing bow. Resplendent Grey was last seen running out a ready winner at this track over hurdles in May and he must enter calculations going chasing for the first time. Given the connections of point-to-point winner Myretown, it would be no surprise if significant improvement was forthcoming now he gets a fence.

Claims can be made for all of these, but MYRETOWN arguably has the most potential going chasing for the first time so gets the vote. Likeable pair Autumn Return and Malaita have the advantage of experience over fences so they head the dangers.

An open race can go to MYRETOWN who showed decent form over hurdles last season and can improve now he's going chasing.

LTO Selection:

15:20 Uttoxeter Handicap Chase (Class 4) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The Wrekin has shown an aptitude for chasing and, having broken his duck in this discipline at Market Rasen when last seen, he warrants serious consideration on his return. However, an absence since August 2023 combined with the burden of top-weight makes this a tough ask. With that in mind, a chance is taken that DUSAUTIOR can take advantage of a potentially lenient mark and double his career tally with trip and ground ideal. Mixedwave and Tedwin Hills are other notable contenders.

Preference is for TEDWIN HILLS, who has only had a handful of starts over fences and hails from a yard amongst the winners. Mixedwave and Vision de Maine rate the principal dangers.

A chance is taken on very unexposed 5yo VISION DE MAINE, who is open to significant improvement on this chase/handicap debut.

LTO Selection:

15:55 Uttoxeter Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) 20f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

A comfortable winner at Kempton when last seen, DARGIANNINI is the most appealing option despite the lengthy absence since last November. However, given none of the others have had a recent outing, that might not be such an issue. Ballybegg is a C&D winner who starts the new campaign on a workable mark, while Pretending enters calculations from the foot of the handicap off just 7lb higher than her Cheltenham success in April.

The Harry Derham stable has very much clicked into gear in recent days and DARGIANNINI can make a successful return to action. Lac de Constance has a good record fresh and is second choice ahead of Olly Murphy's new recruit Pyramid Place.

Kerry Lee's BALLYBEGG (nap) often gives his true running here and the handicapper has given him every chance of returning to form.

16:30 Uttoxeter Handicap Chase (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

CABHFUILFUNGI chased home an odds-on favourite of Dan Skelton's over this C&D 12 days ago and, due to be nudged up 1lb in the future, he is taken to cope with the quick turnaround and put his match-fitness to good use. Lebowski is a notable option on his debut for a new yard and, along with Neigh Botha, he warrants close scrutiny in the betting. Similar comments apply to Quick Sharpener despite his 592-day absence.

TORNEO isn't a chasing type on looks but he has the benefit of a 4-y-o allowance and is from a yard that has done well with similar types in recent years. Cabhfuilfungi was a bit flattered by his proximity to the winner but still shaped pretty well sent chasing over this C&D on return 12 days ago and rates the main threat in what looks a difficult race to call.

Kerry Lee's CABHFUILFUNGI might be that bit sharper than some of these after going close on his recent chase debut here.

(1) Prolific Profile 7/2, Lightly-raced sort who was much improved when landing 12-runner handicap hurdle at Bangor (16.7f, good) in September. Progressed again when following up from a 6 lb higher mark over C&D 12 days ago and looks sure to go well in his hat-trick bid under a 7-lb penalty.
Might be progressive enough to defy the penalty provided he copes with softer ground.

(2) Fourtowns 5/1, Fair in bumpers and similar form over hurdles, finishing third in a 19f maiden at Warwick in May. Disappointed in a first-time tongue strap at Worcester 3 months later and was in the process of backing out of things when falling 2 out at Newton Abbot last time. Has had a breathing op.
Nine-race maiden with ability; has had wind surgery ahead of this handicap debut.

(7) Quian 13/2, Won a Taunton handicap hurdle for Thomas Gallagher in December. Has been underwhelming since and was beaten by more than the trip alone at Ffos Las (20f) on first start for current yard in May. Given a chance by the assessor, nonetheless.
Struggles continued on May's stable debut and needs a major revival.

Has edged up the weights and the recent rain may have scuppered him.

(4) Villainess 17/2, Didn't need to improve to get off the mark at Stratford in April. Found it tougher back in a handicap at Perth next time but it's still relatively early days. Hood on for 1st time.
Maiden winner; looks on a tough enough mark unless the hood can improve her.

9/1(-20%)
(11) Twp Stori 9/1, Steadily progressive sort who scored at Fontwell in March and progressed again when second of 9 in handicap here (23.3f, soft) in May. Probably has more to offer but the return to a much shorter trip has to be concern.
In form earlier this year but over much longer trips; 2m never looked his trip in the past.

(3) State Of Fame 11/1, Bumper winner but yet to win over hurdles and ran badly returned to a handicap at Warwick when last seen 17 months ago. Has struck 3 times in points subsequently and market perhaps best guide now returning to Rules for a new yard (sold from Tim Vaughan £4,000). Tongue strap on for 1st time.
Three-point winner, including over 3m2f; 2m could be too sharp on stable debut.

(13) Henrysbrotherjack 11/1, Stoutly bred sort who didn't show a great deal in 4 runs over hurdles last season, including on handicap debut at Market Rasen on final outing. Big step forward required.
Uncompetitive on handicap debut and this stoutly-bred 5yo is likely to want further.

(14) Dundory 14/1, Fairly useful on Flat (below form last 2 starts). Yet to get anywhere near that level over hurdles but showed more when third on handicap debut at Wincanton in March. Ran to a similar level at Ludlow next time but wasn't quite in the same form at Ffos Las on final start in this sphere.
Ran respectably in handicap hurdles earlier this year and lurks on a low weight.

(9) Motazzen 16/1, A fair winner at 14f on Flat and left previous hurdling form behind when second in first-time blinkers at Uttoxeter (15.8f) in July. Promised more than he delivered when fifth at Bangor and ran even worse back up in trip at Huntingdon last time. Tongue tie refitted.
Runner-up here in July and getting back on rain-softened ground won't harm his chances.

(6) Trevor's Lad 25/1, Milan gelding who displayed definite promise on first of his 2 starts in novice hurdles during 2022/23 season. However, pulled up on return/handicap debut at Fontwell in April and is likely best watched back from further 6-month absence here.
Has had only three runs; bled when pulled up on handicap debut latest; too much to prove.

17:05 Uttoxeter Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

PROLIFIC PROFILE is beginning to live up to his name. A winner at Bangor last month before recording a comfortable success over C&D earlier this month, Katy Price's gelding remains open to further improvement and is fancied to complete the hat-trick. Villainess was unable to justify favouritism at Perth in May but with a hood applied for the first time, she could step forward. Runner-up over an extended 2m7f here last time, Twp Stori is interesting dropped in distance.

PROLIFIC PROFILE is going the right way now and, having got the better of a well-backed stable switcher on his most recent outing over C&D, he makes plenty of appeal in his hat-trick bid. Villainess was a shade disappointing back in handicap company at Perth in May but it's still relatively early days in her career and she's not one to give up on just yet based on her earlier form. Quian undoubtedly has something to prove but he's been given a real chance by the assessor.

A few in here could have done without the recent rain but it might actually suit MOTAZZEN who was runner-up here three starts ago.

17:40 Uttoxeter NH Flat Race (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Fergal O'Brien often does well with his bumper horses and his pair DREAM SHADOW and Strong Run are expected to go well, with preference for the former. The mare fetched 100,000 pounds after winning a point-to-point last year and made a positive start to life under Rules when third over C&D in April. Doctor Dino filly Service Minimum has to be of interest for the Skeltons, while others to note include Varinia and Georgia's Charm.

DREAM SHADOW showed plenty of ability when third over C&D on debut back in April and, with further improvement on the cards, Fergal O'Brien's mare is fancied to go a couple of places better at the expense of Georgia's Charm, who was sent off a warm order on her recent yard debut but was ultimately left with too much to do. Debutantes Strong Run, Service Minimum and Walkingtheline all tick plenty of boxes on paper so round off the shortlist.

Fergal O'Brien's easy point scorer DREAM SHADOW is taken to build on her promising C&D debut third and make a winning seasonal return
