17:07 Uttoxeter Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Bumper winner JAFIMGOSO just missed out when carrying a penalty at Market Rasen last month. Dan Skelton's charge may prove the one to beat tackling hurdles for the first time. Baskerville looked in the process of posting a better effort at Stratford when stumbling and parting company with his rider two out. He can figure with a clear round, while Don Rafael was making late progress at Hereford on his hurdling bow and is one to keep an eye on.

HARD AS NAILS went with plenty of zest when making her third hurdles start a winning one in uncomplicated fashion at Southwell and, although the bare form is nothing out of the ordinary, she looks sure to progress further and win mores races. Bumper-winner Jafimgoso is the obvious threat.

Dan Skelton's JAFIMGOSO has shown more than enough in bumpers to suggest he can win a run-of-the-mill novice hurdle such as this.

17:40 Uttoxeter Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MOKORO faded badly at Warwick on his hurdling debut. He's subsequently undergone a wind operation, though, and gets another chance with his trainer in such good form. Better is expected from Newton returning to this shorter trip, while Zodiac Star is another likely improver on his second start after wind surgery. Valsad has won three times on the Flat and makes his hurdling bow, having switched to Harry Derham's yard.

Providing he takes to hurdling, it's hard to see past useful Flat recruit VALSAD in an ordinary-looking maiden. Apache Princess looks the obvious one for the forecast.

A modest novice hurdle can go to the newcomer VALSAD who had some useful Flat form and will have been well prepared for his jumps debut.

18:10 Uttoxeter Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

WE GOTTA GETAWAY showed plenty of battling qualities to regain the lead in the closing stages at Market Rasen and open his account. He looks capable of defying a 5lb rise in this company. Just Chasing May looked sure to figure in the finish before falling at the last here a month ago, while Western Glen posted an improved effort when fourth at Market Rasen and can also figure.

WE GOTTA GETAWAY didn't look totally straightforward but he got the job done at Market Rasen last week and there are more races to be won with him at this level. Just Chasing May would have been placed but for a late fall last time and he can make his presence felt, with Dorcas Road a potential improver.

This selection is JUST CHASING MAY, who was in the process of running a big race before his last-flight fall here four weeks ago.

18:40 Uttoxeter Handicap Chase (Class 5) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

UNWANTED ATTENTION won impressively over 2m5f at Market Rasen earlier in the month and a 5lb rise for that success may not be enough to stop him from following up. That said, Higgs has been in terrific form of late and could give the selection plenty to think about, while Barrakhov edges out King Of The Hill and Maska Du Morvan to be best of the rest.

With most arriving with something to prove, in-form veteran HIGGS appeals as the most solid option. Recent Market Rasen winner Unwanted Attention is the obvious threat with Barrakhov best of the rest.

Still on a workable mark after his recent Market Rasen win, UNWANTED ATTENTION has scope for further progress over fences.

19:10 Uttoxeter Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

In a moderate event, it is hard to oppose FAHA BELLE, who was a close second in a similar contest over an extended 2m4f at Market Rasen last time and is only 2lb higher here. Shibuya Song was fourth in the same race and could make the frame once again, although she will do well to reverse the form. Others to consider are Killybegs Jet Lady and Of Course You Can.

With the promise of better to come from ONEFORTHEFAIRGREEN now pitched into a low-grade handicap and faced with a stiffer test, she could be the answer. This step up in trip is also likely to serve Shibuya Song well and she is second choice ahead of Of Course You Can and Faha Belle. If Giulietta turns out quickly under a penalty following her Worcester breakthrough success on Thursday she will be a danger to all.

The suggestion is OF COURSE YOU CAN who has been making gradual progress, and appears in need of a thorough test of stamina.

19:45 Uttoxeter Handicap Chase (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Rajjamataz has to be of interest following his 10-length success at Fontwell a month ago, but a 10lb rise has to be a slight concern. With that in mind, preference is for MALPAS, who readily accounted for Limetree Boy over 2m1f at Bangor and merits plenty of respect off just 5lb higher. Limetree Boy now has blinkers applied for the first time so should not be discounted.

RAJJAMATAZ got off the mark in good style at Fontwell last time, travelling well and jumping soundly in the main, so he is taken to score again with further progress to come on only his fourth start in this sphere. He can get the better of Limetree Boy, who looks well worth another try at this trip, with Malpas also in the mix.

Not beaten far in a competitive race for the grade last month, ROLL WITH IT can take a big step forward if his jumping improves here.

PRINCE DE JUILLEY justified favouritism when registering a first success under Rules at Warwick at the end of last month and the seven-year-old may have more to offer in this sphere. Mr Tambourine Man is an obvious threat based on his victory at Worcester a fortnight ago, while the booking of Danny Mullins for Crossing The Bar makes him of significant interest.

Not a particularly deep handicap given the field size, with MR TAMBOURINE MAN fancied to follow up from his Worcester success a fortnight ago. Prince de Juilley also arrives on the back of a recent succes, whilst Jukebox d'Eddy seemed to take well to a staying trip last time and completes the shortlist from a light weight.

Placed off today's mark at Kelso three weeks ago, BRIGHT SUNBIRD (nap) could still have a bigger run in her for her new stable.

DAMZON took a decent step forward from her debut when outrunning odds of 66/1 to finish runner-up at Southwell last month. In a contest that appears to lack much depth on paper, James Evans' mare gets the vote to go one better. Dance The Moon boasts a smart pedigree and is entitled to improve from her Newbury introduction in December, while That'll Do Moss and O'grady's Hill appear best of the remainder.

THAT'LL DO MOSS arrives on the back of a point win and her new stable should have her well prepared for this, so she's preferred to Dance The Moon, who shaped with encouragement at Newbury first time out. Damzon is another one to consider.

Well-bred filly DANCE THE MOON shaped with considerable promise when fourth in a much deeper race than this at Newbury in December.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
