The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
TIGER BAY QUEEN hasn't run since winning a Listed bumper in April 2023 and is fragile, but her novice status might have been preserved for this fresh new season, which is encouraging. She has clearly had training issues and indeed returned from 436 days off to win at Fairyhouse, but is just a six-year-old and can do well over hurdles. Russellsbelle has a race-fitness edge and ran well at Tramore recently. She will be suited by drying ground and today she again receives weight from previous winners, but should struggle to beat an on-song selection. Smiling Bess is out of a Grade 1-placed mare and while her recent form is on testing ground, has form on yielding.
TIGER BAY QUEEN put up a useful performance when winning a listed bumper last spring and while she's not been seen since, she could easily outclass these on hurdles debut fitted with a hood. Smiling Bess and Russellsbelle set a fair standard.
The interesting runner is TIGER BAY QUEEN who has been recruited by JP McManus since easily winning a Listed bumper 13 months ago.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
NEW YORK STYLE is a lightly-raced seven-year-old who returns from a 147-day absence, but has shown enough to suggest she can win this ordinary maiden. Runner-up on bumper debut in October 2022 before missing 378 days, she ran well in a useful Naas maiden in December (from which the winner was subsequently Listed-placed and the fifth later won) and a reproduction would give her every chance. Fairyland Opera is a granddaughter of the high-class Opera Hat and while beaten 22 lengths on her maiden hurdle debut, should progress. Bumper winner Cash The Cheque debuts for a new yard and has useful form on good ground, but returns from a winter break and carries a penalty.
NEW YORK STYLE looked promising in a bumper and her latest effort, when fourth at Naas, was a step forward from her hurdling debut, so she's fancied to open her account returning from almost 5 months off. Cash The Cheque is the biggest danger on form although Fairyland Opera is expected to improve from her hurdling debut.
As in the opener, JP McManus could have the answer in NEW YORK STYLE whose only blip so far came in a race won by Slade Steel.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MILK MARKET ran well having stepped up to this distance for the first time at Bellewstown last month and should compete from just 3lb higher. He had previously run well at two miles at Limerick last October, but his most recent run offered more encouragement and drying ground should also suit. Oneforgonzo has himself shown good form over staying distances and while he is 9lb higher than when winning here last month, could continue to progress further, although his best form is on easy ground. Hunting Brook finished fifth behind the selection at Bellewstown last month but wasn't beaten far and won two similar handicaps last November, albeit on soft ground, with first-time blinkers applied today.
The step up to this trip brought about improvement in MILK MARKET at Bellewstown where he was a good second in a 10-runner handicap and probably would've finished closer still had he jumped the final two flights with greater elan. The 5-y-o is taken to go one better here. The hat-trick seeking Oneforgonzo is the clear main danger ahead of Intersky Sunset.
Oneforgonzo is on a roll but up in the weights and preference is for MILK MARKET who was also a big improver last time.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
KNOW THE GAME has won just once from 19 career runs, but that sole win was gained at this distance and he ran well at Limerick recently. He is largely dependable in this sphere and having been beaten just a nose by Freddie Robdal at Tramore in April 2023, is 6lb better off. Freddie Robdal has a similar profile, being ground-versatile and suited by this distance, and should again compete as he is in form. Heavy-ground three-time winner Pana To Milan's only previous attempts racing on a sound surface were in maiden hurdles in 2022 and while she disappointed on her latest run, she is interesting racing on a different surface and has winning distance form.
MAHLERS COVE shaped well at Tramore last time and can open his chase account if showing up here in similar form. Pana To Milan wasn't at her best last time but had been in good form prior to that and can bounce back and provide the chief threat. Freddie Robdal and Know The Game also make the shortlist.
The 7yo MAHLERS COVE (nap) might have gone really close last time at Tramore but for a late mistake and he can gain compensation.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
EASY FELLA won twice in staying hurdles last season, including on his first start for Henry de Bromhead at Thurles in December, and was subsequently second to the long odds-on High Class Hero. He looks an exciting recruit to fences. Slip Of The Tongue has plenty of experience over fences, but was well beaten in handicaps on both outings earlier this year, while Jasmin De Cotte and Varna Gold both made promising starts over fences last time. The latter had Nine Graces behind when third to the selection's stablemate Music Of Tara at this venue last month, but Barry Connell's mare was challenging when making a bad mistake two out and looks a greater threat. Prairie Dancer is another to consider.
NINE GRACES made what was effectively a race-ending mistake 2 out on her course recent chase debut and can be given another chance to translate her useful hurdle ability to fences. Jasmin de Cotte made a sound start to his chase career when third at Down Royal last month and is second choice ahead of Henry de Bromhead chase newcomer Easy Fella.
A recruit to Henry de Bromhead last winner EASY FELLA has built on promise shown for Ray Cody and has the makings of a useful chaser

1st (4) (4/1 +56%) Grange Soldier |
4/1(+56%) | (4) Grange Soldier 4/1, Winning pointer, pulled up last time (Apr 7). Possibly best watched on hunter debut. May have found conditions too testing last time, boasts decent form on yielding ground. |

2nd (3) (11/8 +31%) Don't Matter Now |
11/8(+31%) | (3) Don't Matter Now 11/8, Second in a Cork maiden hurdle in spring 2021. Prolific in the pointing field since and major player on hunter debut. Tongue tied first time. Winner of all four completed starts in points this term, beat a good yardstick last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (16/1 +0%) Petite Mike |
16/1(+0%) | (8) Petite Mike 16/1, Poor form over hurdles. Came good at the fifth time of asking in points recently. More needed on hunter debut. Low-rated handicap hurdler, recent maiden point winner at the fifth attempt, up against it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (11/2 +39%) D'jo Dela Barriere |
11/2(+39%) | (2) D'jo Dela Barriere 11/2, Maiden pointer, unplaced last time (Apr 13). Blinkered first time. Others are preferred. Has failed to match his best track form in point-to-points, probably vulnerable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (10/1 +50%) Lisleigh Lad |
10/1(+50%) | (5) Lisleigh Lad 10/1, Twice-raced maiden. Seventh of 10 in hunter chase (11/1) at Thurles (24.8f, soft) 65 days ago. Sixth in a point since. Others more persuasive. Experienced pointer with 2-13 record, limitations evident in hunter chase outings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (33/1 +0%) Thethirstyfarrier |
33/1(+0%) | (10) Thethirstyfarrier 33/1, 80/1, seventh of 10 in hunter chase at Tramore (21.8f, good) on NH debut 17 days ago. 0-5 in points, needs to jump better than on hunter chase debut at Tramore. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (12/1 +0%) Miners Bridge |
12/1(+0%) | (6) Miners Bridge 12/1, Twice-raced maiden. 11/2, ninth of 10 in hunter chase at Thurles (24.8f, soft) 65 days ago. Ability in points has not so far translated to hunter chases, premature to write off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (22/1 +33%) Glenetty |
22/1(+33%) | (11) Glenetty 22/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. Seventh of 11 in hunter chase at Cork (24f, heavy, 40/1) on debut over fences 38 days ago. Second in a point last week. Down the field on only hunter chase outing, no finishers behind her when second at Necarne. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (10/1 -67%) Nibbles |
10/1(-67%) | (7) Nibbles 10/1, Fair chaser. Only just headed when fell heavily last on hunter chase debut at Clonmel (21f, heavy, 11/1) in January. Has reached the frame in points since. Can play a prominent role back under Rules. Good run up to the point of his fall at the last at Clonmel, worth considering. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (9) (28/1 -12%) Rag N Bone |
28/1(-12%) | (9) Rag N Bone 28/1, Runner-up on last of 4 starts in points (Apr 21). Hunter debut. Lightly raced, second in a recent maiden point at Tattersalls, others much preferred. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
DON'T MATTER NOW has been prolific between the flags, winning all four of his completed starts for Noel Kelly since November, and has rejoined Declan Queally since beating De Nordener at Ballyragget in March. The Terence O'Brien yard continues in good form and Con's Roc rates a threat. The Shirocco gelding has won both point-to-point outings this year and may pose more of a danger than D'jo Dela Barriere, who was third to Loughglynn in a Punchestown maiden hurdle last November but has failed to score in four point starts since. The form of Grange Soldier's win at Belharbour has been given a boost, and the booking of Barry O'Neill is certainly a plus.
DON'T MATTER NOW has been successful on his last 4 completed starts in points and is taken to keep the winning run going on hunter debut for Declan Queally. Con's Roc is another who has looked promising between the flags and is second choice ahead of Nibbles, who was bang there when falling at the last on his hunter debut in January.
Four-time points winner DON'T MATTER NOW is from a stable that has enjoyed a good campaign. He gets the vote over Miners Bridge

2nd (12) (6/1 +29%) Klassical Corona |
6/1(+29%) | (12) Klassical Corona 6/1, Masterofthehorse filly who wasn't beaten far when fourth on debut in a maiden point last month. Worth a second look. Favourite when fourth on debut at Curraghmore, winning rider Rob James now on Wyoming Baby. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (2/1 +60%) Wyoming Baby |
2/1(+60%) | (11) Wyoming Baby 2/1, Once-raced maiden under Rules, finishing last of 13 in bumper (100/1) at Limerick (19f, heavy) 13 months. Maiden point winner last month, though, and she's of interest on debut for new yard with a first-time hood enlisted. Snug winner of a maiden point at Dromahane last month, capable of getting involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/1 +8%) Elsa Bay |
11/1(+8%) | (1) Elsa Bay 11/1, Shantou mare. Half-sister to a point winner. Dam unraced. Placed both completed starts between the flags and she's worth a second look in the betting on Rules debut. Third in two small-field maiden points, not one of the more obvious candidates. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (8/1 +56%) Runaway Bride |
8/1(+56%) | (10) Runaway Bride 8/1, Jukebox Jury mare. Half-sister to 2 winners on Flat, including useful 5f-7.4f winner It Just Takes Time. Made the frame both completed starts in points, albeit she failed to threaten on either occasion. Does not look good enough on the evidence of three points in the early months of the year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (10/1 +17%) Phildante |
10/1(+17%) | (9) Phildante 10/1, Twice-raced maiden. Last of 8 in bumper at Listowel (16f, good to soft, 16/1) on latest start under Rules 7 months ago (second in a point since). Hood on 1st time. Well beaten in bumper runs last August/September, remote second in a maiden point in March. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (50/1 +24%) Pepperpots |
50/1(+24%) | (8) Pepperpots 50/1, Policy Maker mare. Dam placed in points. Poor record herself between the flags and she's hard to warm to. Poor form in seven starts in points, impossible to make a case for her. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (18/1 +45%) Justlikejessejames |
18/1(+45%) | (4) Justlikejessejames 18/1, Mount Nelson mare. Dam bumper/2¼m hurdle winner (stayed 2½m). No great shakes in points and she's probably best watched. First foal out of a bumper/hurdle winner, point-to-point form does not amount to much. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (50/1 -52%) Forceonmyown |
50/1(-52%) | (2) Forceonmyown 50/1, Workforce mare. Half-sister to bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler Tamar Bridge and bumper winner/fair 2½m hurdle winner Mellificent. Beaten a fair way when fourth in a maiden point on debut last month. Half-sister to two winners, last of four finishers on debut at Dromahane last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MA BESS won a point-to-point at Dromahane last spring and has shown plenty of promise in bumpers since, including when beating all bar hot favourite Ivana in an 18-runner Limerick event. The Terence O'Brien-trained mare appears versatile in terms of ground conditions and also put in a creditable effort when fourth to Aurora Vega in a Listed bumper at Gowran last autumn. Jasmine D'airy has filled the runner-up spot on both point-to-point outings this year for Sam Curling, and Derek O'Connor is a significant booking. Miss Penny Copper and Wyoming Baby both won last time between the flags and are others to consider.
With mainly point form to go on, the betting should be informative. JASMINE D'AIRY showed plenty when runner-up on her two starts between the flags and she earns the vote. Next on the list is Wyoming Baby, who recently landed a maiden point, whole Ma Bess has shown a fair level of form in this sphere and she is best of the rest.
Her Cork run raises a doubt but MA BESS will be hard to beat if reproducing the form she showed in the first half of last season.

Dam placed in point. 0-17 between the flags. Has failed to complete the course in 11 of his 16 starts in points, seems safe to rule out. |

9th (3) (40/1 +20%) Fox Hardaway |
40/1(+20%) | (3) Fox Hardaway 40/1, Sageburg gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/fair chaser American Gerry. Poor record in points. Soundly beaten on his two completed starts in points, unlikely to play a featuring part. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
JACKSTELL was placed on both point-to-point starts for Denis Murphy before joining current connections for 70,000 pounds in December. He was third on debut at Ballycrystal in a race that has thrown up a couple of subsequent winners and it will be interesting to see how strong he is in the market here. Block Rockin Beats has joined Terence O'Brien since beating Milo Miller at Castlelands in March and the runner-up has gone one better since. Kerlogue won his only point start at Punchestown in February, while Mic Drop and Val Venus are others to consider having also scored between the flags last time. Norr's Cross has been let down by his jumping in two point starts this year.
The vote goes to JACKSTELL, who was placed on both of his appearances between the flags and this half-brother to four winners is an appealing type for a much-respected yard. Kerlogue, Val Venus and Mic Drop, all point winners, are feared most in that order of preference.
Five point winners are on view here but this 2m2f race may be more suitable for JACKSTELL, bought by Emmet Mullins in November.
Ths is the racecard key.
