1st (8) (9/2 +31%) Dancing Jeremy |
9/2(+31%) | (8) Dancing Jeremy 9/2, Fairly useful winner at 20f over hurdles. Possibly did a bit too much too soon when third back chasing at Fairyhouse (21.2f, heavy, 9/4) 29 days ago. Down in trip. Shortlist material. Won chase debut 2 years ago; jumping has let him down since; shorter trip may not help. |

2nd (7) (11/2 +31%) Mount Frisco |
11/2(+31%) | (7) Mount Frisco 11/2, Latest win in hurdle at Limerick in January. 11/4, creditable fourth of 10 in handicap chase at Clonmel (16.4f, heavy) 7 days ago, finishing tired. Looks competitive on form. Won novice here before 3rd last month and ran okay back over fences latest. |

THE KING OF PRS has made a promising start to his chasing career and could post his third victory in this discipline. After winning his first two races over fences in Wexford and Limerick, he finished third in a valuable handicap chase at Lingfield so the form is in the book. Hgranca De Thaix may have finished last of five in a rated novice chase at Punchestown, however, that run can be viewed in a better light after the winner followed up in a Grade 3 at the same track. Battle Of Ridgeway has shown that he is going to be a better chaser than hurdler. He was an easy winner of a beginners' chase at this track in November and has since finished runner-up on a couple of occasions. He should be involved in the distribution of prize money. Captains Nephew is another to consider while Willywampus' winning form is on better ground.
DANCING JEREMY is given one more chance off what should be a lenient chase mark judged on his improved hurdle efforts this season. Captains Nephew is in a good vein of form and is second choice ahead of Martin Hassett's Battle of Ridgeway.
THE KING OF PRS (nap) lost his unbeaten chase record at Lingfield but he lost little in defeat and can continue on his upward curve

1st (6) (9/4 -38%) Marsh Wren |
9/4(-38%) | (6) Marsh Wren 9/4, Winner of 2 of her 3 starts over hurdles last term and even better over fences, landing 9-runner handicap at Warwick (20f) on her reappearance. 5/4, made it 2-3 in this sphere in 3-runner handicap chase at Uttoxeter (20.9f, heavy) 26 days ago. Stacks to like about this English raider. Uttoxeter winner receives 10lb from Harmonya Maker so looks a big threat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (3/1 +57%) Law Ella |
3/1(+57%) | (5) Law Ella 3/1, Fairly useful winner at 22f over hurdles. 12/1, ran about as well as could have been expected upped in grade when 12¼ lengths fourth of 6 to Harmonya Maker in Grade 2 chase at this course (20.2f, heavy) 32 days ago. Yard won last year's renewal. 10lb better off with Harmonya Maker for recent 12l defeat so more needed to reverse form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (6/5 -20%) Harmonya Maker |
6/5(-20%) | (1) Harmonya Maker 6/5, Career best when winning 6-runner Grade 2 chase at this course (20.2f, heavy, 10/3) 32 days ago by 1½ lengths from Hauturiere, impressing with her accurate jumping. Another bold show likely dropping in grade. Relished 2m4f here last month, good chance she'll stay and concede weight here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (11/1 +31%) Jumping Jet |
11/1(+31%) | (4) Jumping Jet 11/1, Fairly useful winner at 20f over hurdles. Well-beaten second of 6 in beginners chase (6/5) at Fairyhouse (21.3f, heavy) 15 days ago, going in snatches. Step forward needed but that's not out of the question. 1 of 2 for this yard. Fair level of form chasing this term without looking progressive; Elliott second-string. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (66/1 -164%) Glendaars Fortune |
66/1(-164%) | (3) Glendaars Fortune 66/1, 14/1, disappointed bearing in mind debut promise when tailed-off seventh of 12 in bumper at Naas (18.5f, soft) 25 days ago. This a very tough start for her chase debut. Point winner has run twice bumpers; straight over fences here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (200/1 -33%) Copper Coast |
200/1(-33%) | (2) Copper Coast 200/1, 250/1, ninth of 10 in beginners chase at this course (18.4f, good to soft) on debut over fences 3 months ago. First run for yard after leaving W. J. Burke. Last of 6 finishers sole start in points 5 weeks ago and she's readily passed over. Modest form so far over hurdles and fences; first run for rookie trainer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
This looks a good opportunity for HARMONYA MAKER and she can give weight away to her five rivals. Gordon Elliott's mare put in arguably her best performance to date when beating the odds-on favourite in a Grade 2 mares' novices' chase over a shorter trip at this venue last month. British raider Marsh Wren won half of her eight races over flights and is going the right way over fences. She has risen to a mark of 131 on the back of victories at Warwick and Uttoxeter and a runner-up berth in a Listed race at Wincanton. Law Ella did win her beginners' chase here, but has plenty to find with Harmonya Maker after finishing fourth behind her in that aforementioned Grade 2.
A potential match between HARMONYA MAKER and English-raider Marsh Wren, with preference for the former having gained her first success in graded company at this course last month. Stuart Edmunds' mare is 2-3 in this sphere and his bold-jumping front-runner won't allow the selection to have it all her own way however, with Law Ella seemingly best of the remainder.
Recent Grade 2 winner HARMONYA MAKER can concede weight to British challenger Marsh Wren

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ROCHESTOWN wasn't at his best on his last start over 3m at Navan, but looks better assessed on his strong-staying performance when winning over a similar trip at Tramore on his penultimate start. Harry Swan takes 5lb off his back, so he doesn't look to be on a bad mark. Soldier Of Honour showed much-improved form when keeping on for a close third at Down Royal. If he can build upon that, he has to rate a danger. Not May makes her chasing debut off a handy mark. She ran her best race to date over flights when runner-up at Punchestown last month and it is worth noting that she is a former point-to-point winner. Moonlight Getaway was collared late on at Punchestown before finishing second and has to show that he wants this trip.
ROCHESTOWN might have found his last run coming too soon and is worth another chance given his career-best win at Tramore the time before. Soldier of Honour is next best ahead of Moonlight Getaway.
It was a much improved effort from SOLDIER OF HONOUR when placed last month and shaping like this trip would suit

1st (3) (10/3 -33%) Largy Hill |
10/3(-33%) | (3) Largy Hill 10/3, Confirmed promise of his hurdling debut when winning 10-runner maiden at Cork (24f, heavy) 47 days ago, comfortably. Yard in good form. Remains open to improvement. Recent Cork maiden winner; Albert Bartlett possible faces stiffer task but respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (8/11 +42%) Staffordshire Knot |
8/11(+42%) | (5) Staffordshire Knot 8/11, Fairly useful bumper winner who looked a useful prospect when following up back over hurdles in 11-runner maiden at Down Royal (17.2f, heavy, 8/15) 30 days ago, easily. Up in trip and open to further improvement. Bought for 510,000euros after recent Down Royal maiden win; should relish 2m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (7/1 -40%) Stoke The Fire |
7/1(-40%) | (6) Stoke The Fire 7/1, Fairly useful maiden on the Flat and got off the mark over hurdles at the first attempt in 8-runner maiden (5/6) at Tramore (21.6f, heavy) 52 days ago, easily. Open to improvement. Ready Tramore maiden winner takes a big jump in class here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (14/1 -40%) What Path |
14/1(-40%) | (1) What Path 14/1, Useful hurdler who wasted no getting back to form when third of 4 in minor event hurdle at this course (22.5f, heavy) 32 days ago. Stable in good form. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Ideally wants better ground; tongue tie tried and remains vulnerable in these conditions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (7/1 -8%) Mahon's Way |
7/1(-8%) | (4) Mahon's Way 7/1, Thrice-raced winner under NH rules who didn't get home hiked in distance when 25¼ lengths last of 5 to Search For Glory in Gr 3 hurdle at Cork (24f, heavy) 74 days ago, folding. Back down in trip and remains with potential. Impressive Naas maiden winner flopped at Cork but remains of interest back in trip. |

6th (2) (200/1 -203%) Cloudy Tuesday |
200/1(-203%) | (2) Cloudy Tuesday 200/1, Landed a hunter chase at Thurles in March 2021. Fit from points but faces a mighty task on hurdle debut. Hunter-chase winner makes belated hurdles debut and can only be watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
STAFFORDSHIRE KNOT, who made a whopping 510,000 euros at the recent Caldwell Construction dispersal sale, is taken to bring up his hat-trick. He is up in trip and class, but is a lightly-raced horse on the upgrade. He came home well to win his bumper at Fairyhouse and was impressive in routing the field in a maiden hurdle at Down Royal. Willie Mullins' Largy Hill is proven over further as evidenced by a maiden hurdle success over 3m in Cork. His stablemate, What Path, is likely to make this a stamina test off the front, but a bigger threat may be another stablemate, Stoke The Fire. This five-year-old gelding absolutely ran away with a maiden hurdle at Tramore on New Year's Day.
STAFFORDSHIRE KNOT beat a largely ordinary lot at Down Royal last month but did so in emphatic fashion and looks up to making his mark at this level. Largy Hill and Stoke The Fire look promising also, and they rate the main threats.
Recent big money purchase STAFFORDSHIRE KNOT is narrowly preferred to Largy Hill in an interesting renewal

1st (5) (10/11 +27%) Rushmount |
10/11(+27%) | (5) Rushmount 10/11, Runner-up both starts in points and shaped encouragingly when going close in a 9-runner novice hurdle at this course (23f, soft) on NH debut 112 days ago. Should improve. Just denied over C&D on hurdles debut in November; major chance of going one better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (3/1 +10%) Find A Fortune |
3/1(+10%) | (1) Find A Fortune 3/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. Came up against potentially smart rival when second of 6 in novice hurdle at Punchestown (20f, heavy, 9/2) 24 days ago and he may well do better. Useful enough efforts over shorter trips; this greater stamina test could be what he needs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/4 -40%) Nas Na Riogh |
7/4(-40%) | (4) Nas Na Riogh 7/4, Promising type. Second of 11 in novice hurdle at Naas (18.5f, soft, 4/1) 25 days ago. Step up in trip should suit and he ought to go close. Not certain this longer trip will suit but big chance if he stays. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (125/1 +38%) Leis Fein |
125/1(+38%) | (3) Leis Fein 125/1, Modest hurdler. 125/1, bettered previous efforts when fourth of 15 in novice hurdle at Ballinrobe (16.6f, good to soft). Off 9 months. Significantly up in trip. Fair amount to find in this company. Ballinrobe fourth a step in right direction but will be of more interest in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (125/1 -25%) Venturi Effect |
125/1(-25%) | (6) Venturi Effect 125/1, Twice-raced maiden under NH rules. 28/1, twelfth of 14 in novice hurdle at this course (19.8f, soft) on hurdles bow 9 days ago. Nothing to suggest she can land a serious blow. Locally-trained mare having second start over hurdles, all the better for the experience. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (150/1 +40%) Ganderstown |
150/1(+40%) | (2) Ganderstown 150/1, Modest form in bumpers. No impact in maiden/claiming hurdles, leaving Noel Meade prior to latest start. Impossible to fancy. Poor form so far, easily passed over.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
The form of RUSHMOUNT's close second on debut in a maiden hurdle over 2m7f at this track looks particularly strong. The Shirocco gelding just failed by a neck and the horse that pipped him has since finished second in a Garde 2 and third in a Grade 1. Nos Na Riogh is up in trip after a pair of runner-up finishes at Navan and Naas, but should deal with it as a former point-to-point winner. The horse that beat him in Navan franked the form in no uncertain terms when winning a Grade 1 novice hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival. Find A Fortune was no match for the odds-on favourite in second at Punchestown last month, but there is likely more to come from him.
Essentially a three-horse race, with NAS NA RIOGH fancied to step forward again, the staying trip promising to suit Henry de Bromhead's representative. Rushmount and Find A Fortune both chased home useful types on their previous outings and also appeal as capable of better, so can't be discounted in a trappy contest.
Just denied over C&D on his hurdles debut in November, RUSHMOUNT could have a stamina edge here over Nas Na Riogh

13th (8) (15/2 -88%) Port Rashid |
15/2(-88%) | (8) Port Rashid 15/2, C&D winner. Creditable fourth of 10 in handicap chase (11/1) at this course (16.3f, soft) 9 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Cheekpieces back on. 14th (7) (28/1 +44%) Queensteel |

It isn't hard to see PORT RASHID running well for father and daughter Timothy and Jody Townend. The veteran won this race last year and is only 1lb higher in the weights this time. He should be ripe for this assignment after a plugging-on fourth over fences here just over a week ago. He also won this race back in 2020 and another bold bid looks more than likely. Robindevidastar has every chance of getting his turn. He comes into this race in the best form by some way courtesy of a pair of runner-up berths at Fairyhouse and Clonmel. Star Official's fourth place at Naas came in a much higher grade, so his chance has to be respected. Lake Chad is another that ought to be in the mix.
STAR OFFICIAL deserves full marks for consistency and could well be up to doubling his tally if the fitting of cheekpieces can eke out a bit of improvement. Veteran Port Rashid and Future Proof head the opposition.
THE VIRGINIAN could be a big player back over hurdles after a promising chase debut last time and he can come on for that

Willie Mullins' Doyen mare LADY GOONER is an obvious starting point given her trainer's very strong record in bumpers this season. She is a half-sister to a stayer who has won six times on the track, and is sure to be well schooled for her racecourse bow. Gordon Elliott's Wudya is a half-sister to a Grade 2 bumper runner-up, so has plenty going for her on paper. Lady Rose Hackett has switched to Henry de Bromhead ahead of her Rules debut after landing a point-to-point at Boulta in December. That experience will stand her in good stead and she avails of John Gleeson's assistance in the saddle.
LADY ROSE HACKETT won a point comfortably and she's related to a bumper winner, so she's worth chancing to get the better of Lady Gooner, who represents the top yard in this sphere. Wudya is another interesting newcomer given her connections.
SANSRISK sets a decent standard after a close 5th in a Leopardstown maiden hurdle and she can put that experience to good use here
Ths is the racecard key.
