1st (9) (7/4 -27%) Zanahiyr |
7/4(-27%) | (9) Zanahiyr 7/4, Very smart hurdler. Second of 5 in novice chase at Leopardstown (21.3f, heavy, 5/1) on debut over fences 47 days ago. Didn't look a natural chaser and remains to be seen if he'll build on that but he has to be taken seriously given his raw ability. Beaten 17l on chasing debut by Fact To File; nothing of his calibre today; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/2 +17%) Aspire Tower |
5/2(+17%) | (1) Aspire Tower 5/2, Useful hurdler. 11/1, fourth of 7 in minor event hurdle at Punchestown (19.1f, heavy) 44 days ago. Third to subsequent Grade 1 winner Il Etait Temps on chase debut here in November and he's open to improvement in this sphere. Decent chasing debut over 2m2f here behind Il Etait Tempos and should be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (25/1 +0%) Figaroc |
25/1(+0%) | (5) Figaroc 25/1, Fairly useful chaser. Sixth of 7 in novice chase (33/1) at Gowran (20f, heavy) 19 days ago, not knocked about. Paul Townend prefers Feu du Bresil but this fellow is worth a second look all the same. Better effort when beaten by a stablemate at Gowran but has to find improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (6/1 +14%) Mighty Tom |
6/1(+14%) | (6) Mighty Tom 6/1, Smart hurdler. Latest win in hurdle at Killarney in May. 10½ lengths third of 4 to Homme Public in Grade 2 chase (9/4) at Cheltenham (15.9f, good to soft) 88 days ago. Live each-way chance. Has run with credit on both chase starts this term; a repeat will put him in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (7/2 +36%) Pinkerton |
7/2(+36%) | (8) Pinkerton 7/2, Useful hurdler. 3/1, good third of 10 in novice chase at Fairyhouse (16.5f, heavy) 81 days ago, clear of rest. Remains open to improvement as a chaser and he's high on the shortlist. Was 1.5l behind Feu Du Bresil at Fairyhouse last time; has to find some improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (7/1 -40%) Feu Du Bresil |
7/1(-40%) | (4) Feu Du Bresil 7/1, Useful chaser. Fifth of 8 in novice chase at Leopardstown (17f, heavy, 9/1) 48 days ago. Claims judged on chase debut second at Fairyhouse in November. Ran a cracker on chasing debut behind a smart stablemate; poor since so has to bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (100/1 -150%) Ballywilliam Boy |
100/1(-150%) | (2) Ballywilliam Boy 100/1, 9/1, seventh of 8 in handicap hurdle at Cork (20f, heavy) 38 days ago. Opposable on this chase debut. Hasn't recaptured best form in three starts after a long absence and is best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (250/1 +0%) One Way Traffic |
250/1(+0%) | (7) One Way Traffic 250/1, Poor hurdler. Sixth of 14 in novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (20.3f, heavy, 16/1) 17 days ago. Hard to fancy on chase debut. Showed some promise in bumpers but has been soundly beaten over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (200/1 +0%) Burru |
200/1(+0%) | (3) Burru 200/1, Lightly-raced maiden under Rules. Sixth of 7 in novice chase at Fairyhouse (17.3f, soft, 125/1) on debut over fences 31 days ago. Big step forward needed. Well beaten on chasing debut and has a tough task today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ZANAHIYR couldn't live with the winner of a Leopardstown beginners' chase, but the form got a boost when the horse that beat him followed up in a Grade 1 match race at the Dublin Racing Festival. There was promise in Zanahiyr's runner-up berth in that chasing debut and he had plenty of ability over flights as evidenced by being placed in a Champion Hurdle a couple of years ago. Aspire Tower's third place on chasing bow at this track in November reads well after the winner's recent exploits in Grade 1 company at Leopardstown. Feu Du Bresil looks the pick of Willie Mullins' pair and had Pinkerton a place behind him when runner-up at Fairyhouse in November. Mighty Tom has been highly tried in his first two starts over fences, but clearly has ability. He would prefer better ground, though.
It remains to be seen if ASPIRE TOWER will be able to scale similar heights to those which he reached over hurdles a few years back, but there were certainly positives to take from his chase debut third behind the smart Il Etait Temps here at the end of November. He shades preference ahead of Pinkerton, who was behind Feu du Bresil at Fairyhouse but he remains with potential and may well reverse those placings here. Zanahiyr has to enter calculations, too, along with Mighty Tom.
ZANAHIYR is a high-class hurdler and, while he was well beaten by Fact To File on chasing debut, there is no rival of that calibre here

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (4/1 -14%) Thedancingfarrier |
4/1(-14%) | (4) Thedancingfarrier 4/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2022. 33/1, good second of 10 in novice chase at Cork (20f, heavy) 38 days ago, running on. Very much the one to beat. Was 4th off 3lb higher in this last year; back to form when 2nd in a Cork beginners chase. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (9/2 +68%) Huit Reflets |
9/2(+68%) | (8) Huit Reflets 9/2, Remains a maiden after 16 NH runs. 9/2 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, below-par sixth of 10 in handicap chase at Punchestown (19.7f, soft) 30 days ago. Maiden after 16 runs, mostly over hurdles; has to improve from last chase start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (20/1 -43%) Itsalonglongroad |
20/1(-43%) | (2) Itsalonglongroad 20/1, Latest win in chase at Tramore in October. 12/1, tenth of 14 in handicap chase at this course (18.3f, soft) 103 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Eight wins in all codes, incl' on Flat at this track; poor over fences here last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (28/1 -40%) Land Jet |
28/1(-40%) | (7) Land Jet 28/1, 25/1, pulled up in handicap chase at Down Royal (20.4f, heavy) on debut over fences 21 days ago, pulled up 3 out. Down in trip with something to prove. Has seen very little action in the last three years; pulled-up on return; not much appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (33/1 +34%) Love And Wishes |
33/1(+34%) | (10) Love And Wishes 33/1, Pulled up in hunter chase (200/1) at Down Royal (24f, soft) 49 days ago. Significantly back down in trip. Makes handicap chase debut. Pulled-up in a point and hunter chase lately; no appeal from 7lb out of the handicap. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
THEDANCINGFARRIER put in a much-improved effort when runner-up over further in Cork and is taken to build upon that. He just lost out by half a length after a protracted battle in that beginners' chase and should be more than competitive off a mark of 90 with Liam Quinlan's claim factored in. Top-weight Mcgrath From Clune was a five-length winner when last seen in this sphere over an extended 2m2f here in November. He hasn't been quite as good over flights since, but ought to go well despite a 10lb rise in the weights. Prince Of Air hasn't been running badly in finishing fourth in his last three outings and is certainly in the mix for prize money. Itsalonglongroad handled attritional ground when making all on his penultimate start in Tramore while Port Rashid and Huit Reflets are capable of performing better.
THEDANCINGFARRIER signalled he's ready to end a lengthy losing run when a good second at Cork last time out and holds much the best form on show so gets the vote. Course winner McGrath From Clune rates the main danger to the selection, with last year's victor Added Bonus appealing as the pick of the rest.
THEDANCINGFARRIER(nap) was fourth to Added Bonus in this last year and ran his best race for a while at Cork last time.

1st (12) (7/1 +50%) Stagecoach Mary |
7/1(+50%) | (12) Stagecoach Mary 7/1, Seventh of 11 in novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, heavy, 33/1) 17 days ago, keeping on when hitting 2 out. Not out of things for all handicaps likely to be more her bag. Has shown ability in better maiden company than this; could get into the frame. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/6 -46%) Clonshire River |
5/6(-46%) | (1) Clonshire River 5/6, Shaped better than the distance beaten suggests after 8 months off when fourteenth of 23 in handicap hurdle (16/1) at Leopardstown (16f, good to soft) 49 days ago. Good claims on the pick of his form and this is a weak maiden. Handicap form has not been inspiring, big chance here if reproducing best maiden form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (4/1 +33%) On Your Way |
4/1(+33%) | (8) On Your Way 4/1, 125/1, looked one for the longer term when sixth of 14 in novice hurdle at Limerick (16f, heavy) on NH debut 14 days ago. This ought to reveal more. Could have profited hugely from his Limerick experience and well worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (50/1 +24%) The Striker Dylan |
50/1(+24%) | (9) The Striker Dylan 50/1, Once-raced maiden. Eighteenth of 25 in novice hurdle at Naas (16f, soft, 250/1) on NH debut 32 days ago, fading. One for further down the line on that evidence. Not beaten all that far in a much better Naas maiden hurdle last month; could run well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (50/1 -25%) Get It Right |
50/1(-25%) | (3) Get It Right 50/1, Poor hurdler. Pulled up in novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, heavy, 125/1) 17 days ago, tailed off when pulled up before 2 out. Good run in a Punchestown Festival bumper in 2022 but has never really kicked on from that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (28/1 -133%) Tommies Call |
28/1(-133%) | (10) Tommies Call 28/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Last of 12 in bumper at Leopardstown (16f, good to soft, 33/1) 49 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. Two poor runs since third in a valuable sales bumper on debut at Fairyhouse last April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (11/2 -38%) Glendine Billy |
11/2(-38%) | (4) Glendine Billy 11/2, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. 80/1, showed more than previously when fourth of 14 in novice hurdle at Clonmel (16.5f, heavy) 33 days ago. Not out of things in a very ordinary affair. Faded late in a Clonmel maiden hurdle last month but showed a good bit; could step up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

150/1(-50%) | (11) Maivangomary 150/1, Once-raced maiden. 200/1, pulled up in novice hurdle at Punchestown (20.2f, soft) on NH debut 29 days ago, tailed off when pulled up before 3 out. Down in trip. Pulled up on her hurdles debut at Punchestown last month; best watched. |

100/1(-733%) | (5) Kushkame 100/1, Fair maiden on Flat at 3 yrs (stays 10f) for A. Slattery. However, absent for over 3 years (also gelded) ahead of this yard/hurdles debut. Hood/tongue strap fitted. Not seen for 1152 days, now with a new stable and gelded since his last run; best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (13/2 +46%) Gabriel Ranger |
13/2(+46%) | (2) Gabriel Ranger 13/2, Seventh of 22 in novice hurdle (150/1) at Punchestown (16.7f, soft) 30 days ago. Likely type for low-grade handicaps. Has his quirks but clearly has ability and can get involved here if on his game. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (66/1 +34%) Meidhreach |
66/1(+34%) | (7) Meidhreach 66/1, Once-raced maiden. Last of 18 in novice hurdle at Cork (16f, soft, 125/1) on NH debut 100 days ago. Beaten out of sight on debut in a Cork maiden hurdle in November; makes no appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (100/1 +0%) Lacken Forest |
100/1(+0%) | (6) Lacken Forest 100/1, Once-raced maiden. 150/1, pulled up in novice hurdle at Tramore (16.8f, heavy) on NH debut 43 days ago, pulled up before 2 out. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Pulled up after racing too keenly on debut at Tramore; tongue-tie tried here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
The 114-rated CLONSHIRE RIVER has to be respected in this company. He actually moved into a threatening position in the straight in a much better race at Leopardstown over Christmas before weakening out of contention before the final flight. His back form also reads well in the context of this race. Glendine Billy's fourth place in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel is one of the more meaningful pieces of form on offer. That run can be seen in a better light after the horse a place in front of him came out and finished second in a Punchestown maiden hurdle. On Your Way made some late progress for sixth on debut at Limerick and could get closer in this field.
CLONSHIRE RIVER made a pleasing return in a deep Leopardstown handicap over Christmas and can land this weak maiden. Glendine Billy and Stagecoach Mary are feared.
This looks like a weak race, and \CLONSHIRE RIVER\p will be hard to beat if producing a display in keeping with his 114 official rating.

1st (5) (4/7 -8%) Kings Hill |
4/7(-8%) | (5) Kings Hill 4/7, Improved plenty on debut form when fourth of 28 in a maiden hurdle at Leopardstown (16f, good to soft, 50/1) 49 days ago. Sets the standard and this Supreme entry gets the vote. Beaten roughly 3l in a maiden hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas; hard to oppose. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/1 +25%) Crooked Tannie |
9/1(+25%) | (1) Crooked Tannie 9/1, Fairly useful bumper winner who raced too freely when ninth of 12 in novice hurdle at Navan (20f, heavy) on hurdles bow 24 days ago, weakening from 3 out. Step back down in trip can help. Wants better ground and has to give weight but should be more competitive in a weak race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (13/2 +46%) Littlebiggie |
13/2(+46%) | (10) Littlebiggie 13/2, Point winner. Achieved a bit more than on hurdling debut in a first-time hood when second of 5 at Fairyhouse (17.2f, heavy, 15/2) 43 days ago. Respected. Remote second in a Sligo bumper and a mares hurdle at Fairyhouse; more needed here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (10/1 -25%) Muhtaluza |
10/1(-25%) | (6) Muhtaluza 10/1, 11/1, showed a bit under a considerate ride when sixth of 22 in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown (16.7f, soft) on debut 30 days ago, not knocked about. Should improve. Showed promise on debut at Punchestown last month; should improve and likely to do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (22/1 -100%) Queen Of Seduction |
22/1(-100%) | (2) Queen Of Seduction 22/1, Fairly useful winner at 12f on Flat. Showed some aptitude for hurdling when fifth in big-field Cork maiden (2m) last month and shaped like a non-stayer upped to 20f at Punchestown since. 84-rated Flat mare; return to this trip and better jumping should enhance her claims here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (7/2 -5%) Cappucino |
7/2(-5%) | (3) Cappucino 7/2, Fair in bumpers and ran to a similar level sent hurdling when third of 14 in a maiden at Tramore (16.8f, heavy, 10/1) 43 days ago. One to consider. Ran out of steam when third in a Tramore maiden last month; better ground could help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (100/1 -203%) Bee Bright |
100/1(-203%) | (8) Bee Bright 100/1, Once-raced maiden. Twelfth of 18 in bumper at Punchestown (18.4f, heavy, 28/1) on NH debut 44 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. Mid-division in a mares' bumper at Punchestown; likely to need jumping experience. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

150/1(-127%) | (12) Realtin Lonrach 150/1, Ocovango mare. Half-sister to modest hurdler Occidental Lady. Sixth of 15 in novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, heavy, 150/1) on NH debut 20 days ago, merely plugging on. Did okay on her hurdles debut in a better race at Fairyhouse despite some sloppy jumping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (250/1 -25%) Coulrophobia |
250/1(-25%) | (4) Coulrophobia 250/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Ninth of 14 in novice hurdle at Clonmel (16.5f, heavy, 200/1) 33 days ago. Soundly beaten in a trio of maiden hurdles and likely to fare better in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (300/1 -50%) On The Spot |
300/1(-50%) | (11) On The Spot 300/1, Poor maiden on Flat and easily passed over on hurdle debut after huge absence. Modest Flat maiden for Mark Cahill; hurdles debut after 15 months off and best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (150/1 -355%) Hollies Choice |
150/1(-355%) | (9) Hollies Choice 150/1, Has offered little in a bumper/maiden hurdle. Well held in a bumper and a maiden hurdle and unlikely to be a player here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (150/1 -127%) Snugsborough Chime |
150/1(-127%) | (7) Snugsborough Chime 150/1, €1,500 3-y-o, Presenting gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/fairly useful chaser (stayed 2½m) Kalderon. Staying pedigree and certain to benefit from this experience. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
KINGS HILL was an eye-catcher when keeping on for fourth in a massive field at Leopardstown over Christmas. The winner of that race is very well regarded, so to finish just over three lengths behind him could prove to be more than decent form. Muhtaluza is in good hands and is highly likely to improve upon a sixth place on debut at Punchestown. Cappucino has been placed in three bumpers and a maiden hurdle, and should be well involved, while point-to-point winner Littlebiggie has finished runner-up in a bumper and a maiden hurdle albeit beaten a fair way in both. Newcomer Snugsborough Chime was very cheaply bought, but is a brother to a horse that has won twice over hurdles in Britain. The ground would be a concern for Tipperary bumper winner Crooked Tannie.
KINGS HILL was much improved when fourth at Leopardstown 7 weeks ago and the Supreme entry is hard to get away from here. Cappucino and Littlebiggie are feared.
The one to beat is Cheltenham entry KINGS HILL after an excellent run in a good Leopardstown maiden hurdle

(1) (8/11 +0%)8/11(+0%) | (1) St Cuthbert's Cave 8/11, Bumper winner. Lame when pulled up in novice hurdle (10/3) at Clonmel (19.1f, heavy) 68 days ago. 1st (5) (2/1 +43%) Our Boy Rocky |
2/1(+43%) | (5) Our Boy Rocky 2/1, Twice-raced maiden. Fifth of 15 in novice hurdle (66/1) at Limerick (16f, heavy) 47 days ago. Up in trip. Likely to get involved if he can back up that improvement. Fifth in a Limerick maiden hurdle at Christmas; can get into the shake-up here. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ST CUTHBERT'S CAVE returned lame so had valid excuses for his December pulled up run and contests a weak maiden. A Kelso bumper winner in May prior to selling for 150,000 pounds, he ran very well when conceding 8lb and finishing third to two capable types at Fairyhouse subsequently. Reported to be 'lame on the off hind and to have a superficial wound on the off fore pastern' at Clonmel, he should concede weight and win. Our Boy Rocky showed promise at Limerick over Christmas and might finish second. Debut point-to-point winner Roxhill Roise was well beaten in a recent maiden hurdle but had previously shown bumper form while stablemate Hollow Rodger steps up from winning an ordinary mares maiden point-to-point last month. Toor Khov disappointed in a Leopardstown Christmas bumper but had previously been placed in three bumpers.
A thin maiden and a good chance for ST CUTHBERT'S CAVE to open his account over hurdles if all is well. Our Boy Rocky is feared most ahead of point-winner Hollow Rodger.
The one to beat looks like ST CUTHBERT'S CAVE whose last run can be forgiven. He made a good debut at Fairyhouse in November

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
TOOR MOON is a 16-race maiden but has found his level in handicaps in recent times. Proven on testing ground and at similar distances, he is race-fit and finished ahead of subsequent winner Buachaillbocht at Tramore last month. Lily's Choice ran ok when well beaten into third at Fairyhouse last month and has claims racing from 1lb lower and, notably, under a 7lb claimer. 10-year-old mare Seangoell has been well beaten twice this term but has claims on her best from from last season. Another Nightmare won in September but pulled up recently while Rising Dust has some bits of form. One And Only has been well beaten in all his runs but showed some promise at Down Royal in December and steps up in distance on handicap debut. Similarly Brogue Man River steps up markedly in distance having shown little in four previous hurdle runs at two miles. Point-to-point winner Colline Fleurie has yet to show hurdles form.
TOOR MOON hasn't looked the most straightforward, but he ran up to his best when runner-up at Tramore on New Year's Day and a reproduction of that form could be enough to see him get off the mark. Lily's Choice ran well back in this sphere at Fairyhouse recently and needs considering, along with Brogue Man River, who could improve now upped appreciably in distance.
About as weak a handicap hurdle as you will find. TOOR MOON has had a lot of opportunities but this may be his best yet

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
NED IN THE PARK is a distant relative to his owner's smart Mallowney and ran well on Fairyhouse debut. That form was boosted by the winner scoring (and indeed selling for 510,000 euros) subsequently, while more experienced placed-horses had prior form. Willie Mullins runs three, with Coco Masterpiece being interesting despite reappearing following an alarming 666 days absence. A debut point-to-point winner, he chased home a subsequent UK hurdle winner at Loughanmore subsequently, when conceding 5lb, and while he contests this less fashionable bumper, notably reappears in a bumper aged seven, with hurdling being put to one side for now. Ballygunner Castle - related to Yorkhill, Risk Of Thunder and The Listener, is ridden by an experienced UK-based rider while another debutant stablemate Fishery Lane was a 67,000-euro store purchase and is closely related to French winners, although today's jockey didn't ride last year. Le Grand Peinture ran well during Christmas but needs to improve to win.
This seems almost certain to go to one of the Willie Mullins' trio, with 7-y-o COCO MASTERPIECE preferred to Ballygunner Castle and Fishery Lane before market clues. Ned In The Park shaped well first time up at Fairyhouse and is the clear pick of those with bumper form.
COCO MASTERPIECE has taken time to get to the racecourse but represents leading owners and can beat his two stablemates.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
