13:45 Thirsk Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Jamih is not easily dismissed but she failed to recover from a tardy start when 12th at Catterick last time, where PERIPETEIA finished fourth. The latter should feature in the finish off her current mark with a similar effort and Philip Kirby's inmate may prove the one to side with. Three Platoon has a shout on his third at Beverley two starts ago, while Can Can Girl won off today's handicap rating over a longer trip at Doncaster in July and could also go well.

Irish import SUSIESPARKLE is 0-11 and was out with the washing at Navan last time, but she took a step forward when runner-up at Sligo prior to that and will have every chance on debut for her new yard here if able to reproduce that level of form. Can Can Girl and Tiberio Force may emerge as the main dangers.

It could pay to take a chance on the unexposed TEATIME, who shaped well in what looked a fair race at Yarmouth on her handicap debut.

14:15 Thirsk Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

FALLEN SOLDIER will have gone into a few notebooks when finishing fourth in a Southwell nursery on his handicap debut. He had to be switched for a clear run in the closing stages and is taken to turn the tables with the winner, River Blackwater, on today's more favourable terms. The latter is still improving and can go well again despite a 5lb rise, while Royal Accord may improve in a first-time tongue-tie having posted a better effort in a nursery at Lingfield last time.

FALLEN SOLDIER left the impression a race of this nature was well within his compass when fourth at Southwell earlier this month and gets the nod. River Blackwater and Wondrous Ways rate the principal dangers.

The choice is MAGIC LOVE (nap) who has shown promise in two races at Newbury and starts his life in handicaps at a fairly lowly level.

14:50 Thirsk Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MOOSTAR has improved with every start so far and will appreciate this return to 6f, having failed to settle when third over the minimum trip in novice company at Yarmouth. Darryll Holland's Zoustar filly looks one to keep on the right side of now handicapping and is preferred to Isla Bella, who won her maiden race over today's trip at Brighton back in May and can also feature. Bungle Reigns and Spring Corn are both worth noting on their nursery debut.

It might be worth siding with Tim Easterby's SPRING CORN who appeals as a potential improver now handicapping after a break. Summer of Light and Moostar are other potential improvers now joining the handicap ranks in a contest where the betting could prove informative.

A chance is taken on nursery debutant BUNGLE REIGNS who ran his best race in a maiden last time. Spring Corn is next best.

15:20 Thirsk Stakes (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LOCAL LAD caught the eye on his racecourse debut when fourth in a Group 3 at the Curragh over 6f, having displayed signs of greenness throughout that performance. The step up to 7f promises to yield a fair amount of improvement and the gelded son of Sea The Moon has been found the ideal opportunity to shed the maiden tag. Chemical, Watching Stars and Valiant Knight have all shown promise to date, but the main threat may come from the well-bred Regal Agenda, who is closely related to Grade 1-placed Royal Champion.

LOCAL LAD made a very encouraging start to his career pitched into the deep end when beaten just over a length in a Group 3 at the Curragh in May and he sets a high standard down in class. Chemical was surrounded by subsequent winners at Kempton last month so rates the main threat.

A valuable novice can go to LOCAL LAD, who looked a useful prospect when finishing fourth in a Curragh Group 3 on his debut in May.

15:50 Thirsk Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Agnes Grey clearly benefited from the application of blinkers when gaining a first career victory at Carlisle on Wednesday. However, it remains to be seen if the headgear will have the same desired effect and the two-length third from that contest, THE GAY BLADE, might be the one to take advantage. With the winner picking up a penalty, Iain Jardine's gelding is 5lb better off on this occasion and he is taken to land a fourth win of the year. Others to consider include Tees Douge and Calafrio.

THE GAY BLADE finished behind Agnes Grey at Carlisle last week but now benefits from a swing at the weights with that rival penalised and he can notch his fourth win of this season. Agnes Grey arrives at the top of her game and has to be highly respected herseld, whilst Calafrio won a similar contest here the previous month and completes the shortlist.

Blinkers worked the oracle for AGNES GREY who won a decent sprint last week and should give another good account under a penalty.

16:20 Thirsk Handicap (Class 5) 7f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MIDNIGHT'S DREAM returns from a break having finished third when last seen at Salisbury in May and Roger Varian's colt makes a fair amount of appeal on his first start in handicap company. Mereside Madness is likely to enter calculations following his recent second at Chelmsford when tried in blinkers for the first time, while Woodleigh appears worth another try at 7f based on his placed effort at Haydock in June.

MIDNIGHT'S DREAM is bred to be better than this grade so a leap forward now handicapping for his leading yard may well be forthcoming. Amayretto is more exposed but she's likely to give it another good go, with Mereside Madness another of interest.

The extra furlong may not be ideal for handicap debutant Midnight's Dream and KODE SECRET could be the one to take advantage.

16:50 Thirsk Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Fibonacci Sequence needed every inch of a mile when opening her account in a novice event at Chelmsford last month and she enters handicaps off what looks a workable mark of 68. However, course winner LOKANA makes slightly more appeal off a career-low rating. The daughter of Waldgeist posted a respectable third at Ripon on her latest outing and a 1lb ease in the ratings can only help. Style Of Life also enters the reckoning on her switch to turf.

Plenty with chances but STYLE OF LIFE rates just the pick of these weights so edges the vote at the chief expense of C&D winner Hostelry. Course winner Lokana can also have a say in this open handicap.

Although Fibonacci Sequence is completely unexposed it's hard to gauge what she has achieved and course winner LOKANA is preferred.

17:20 Thirsk Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Mister Sox has proved a model of consistency since a below-par reappearance when finishing ninth at Thirsk in early April and Tim Easterby's inmate is sure to prove popular. Although it is hard to see the four-year-old being out of the frame, he's likely to be priced accordingly and it may be worth taking a punt on EMILY POST. The Charming Thought mare has dropped back to her last winning mark and this return to 7f could prove crucial. Reputation and Sparkling Red are also noted.

The finale can go the way of REPUTATION, who shaped well when doing easily best of those from off the pace at Chelmsford on his latest outing. He is taken to record a second C&D success from his reduced mark, with Mister Sox respected having been in good form when last seen 3 months ago.

In a tricky race SPARKLING RED, who shaped well when upped to 7f last time, is taken to beat Mister Sox.
