1st (2) (4/5 -10%) Denzil |
4/5(-10%) | (2) Denzil 4/5, Dink gelding. Brother to yard's useful hurdler/high-class chaser Nube Negra and fair chaser Noche Negra. Starts out in a very winnable contest. Brother to stable's high-class chaser Nube Negra; looks the part on paper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (6/1 +8%) Celestial Ruby |
6/1(+8%) | (1) Celestial Ruby 6/1, Zoffany gelding. Dam 7f winner who stayed 1¼m. Second foal; dam a fair 7f winner, half-sister to a Listed-placed middle-distance winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (3) (13/8 +7%) Wallquatari |
13/8(+7%) | (3) Wallquatari 13/8, Waldpark gelding. Half-brother to 2 winners on Flat, including 1¼m-1½m winner Zuraig, from the family of useful hurdler/chase winner (stayed 21f) Sayo. Appealing sort on debut. 16,000euros 2yo; out of a useful and well-connected French Flat winner. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Wallquatari represents the in-form Donald McCain stable and that suggests that the Waldpark gelding could go well under Brian Hughes, but preference remains with DENZIL. A full-brother to the classy Nube Negra, the Skelton team won this last year with an unraced gelding and may well do so again. That leaves Celestial Ruby to follow them home, unless the betting suggests otherwise.
No form to go on and the betting will be revealing, with DENZIL, brother to the yard's star performer Nube Negra, taken to make a successful start before market clues.
Dan Skelton won this race in 2023 and this year he introduces DENZIL, a brother to his high-class chaser Nube Negra.

1st (2) (2/1 +50%) Copshill Lad |
2/1(+50%) | (2) Copshill Lad 2/1, Winless over hurdles but in good form until pulled up in handicap hurdle at Plumpton (25f, soft) 8 months ago on his final run for Anthony Charlton. Cheekpieces on 1st time for new yard and has undergone breathing surgery so possibilities. Off since a poor run in January but still looks very interesting on debut for Harry Derham. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (11/1 +21%) Rebel Intentions |
11/1(+21%) | (5) Rebel Intentions 11/1, Scored at Ascot last November but only thirteenth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Exeter (23.1f, good) final run last spring. Not ruled out if back on his A-game. Won twice in early part of last season but ran some stinkers afterwards; back from break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (5/1 +29%) Flashy Boy |
5/1(+29%) | (8) Flashy Boy 5/1, Point winner who showed fair form over hurdles for Tom Lacey. Had a breathing operation prior to coming in a fair fifth on sole run for Fergal O'Brien in 21f Ludlow handicap in May. No forlorn hope for another new handler. 0-6 over hurdles and absent since spring but worth a market check before this stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (3/1 +10%) Eurkash |
3/1(+10%) | (9) Eurkash 3/1, On a losing run but he posted a very good second of 10 for his new yard in handicap chase at Fontwell (26f, good) 29 days ago, going with enthusiasm. Weighted to go well back in this sphere. Bumped into much-improved rival when clear second over fences last month; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (12/1 -50%) Current Mood |
12/1(-50%) | (1) Current Mood 12/1, Fairly useful hurdler at her best, though below that level last season over hurdles and fences. Needs to hit the ground running on her return. Arrested decline with some respectable runs at end of last season but others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (200/1 -506%) Upthereforthinking |
200/1(-506%) | (3) Upthereforthinking 200/1, Modest maiden over hurdles in Ireland for Gavin Cromwell. Not figured in pair of maiden/novice hurdles for new stable this summer and whilst the return to handicaps rates a plus, others appeal more. Ex-Irish maiden; well beaten on both starts for new stable this summer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (7/1 -155%) Razzo Italiano |
7/1(-155%) | (7) Razzo Italiano 7/1, Course scorer who made a winning start for his new yard in 7-runner handicap hurdle at Worcester (16f, soft) 10 days ago. Not taken lightly in his hat-trick bid stepped up in trip. Got up close home to win over 2m on stable debut and now bids for a hat-trick; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (8/1 -23%) Only Fools |
8/1(-23%) | (6) Only Fools 8/1, Scored at Newton Abbot in July. Creditable third of 9 in handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (19.9f, soft) 82 days ago. Since had a wind op so needs considering. Looked as good as ever in the summer; had wind-op during 82-day break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (50/1 -257%) Jackeline |
50/1(-257%) | (4) Jackeline 50/1, Fair maiden hurdler who failed to get home when fourth of 8 in novice hurdle at Fakenham (20f, good) 153 days ago. Makes handicap debut with more to do. Placed in 2m novice in March and open to improvement in handicaps over further this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (100/1 -203%) Mackie Dee |
100/1(-203%) | (10) Mackie Dee 100/1, It's now 11 runs since his last win in 2022 and he came in last of 11 in handicap chase at Market Rasen (21.4f, good to firm) 51 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles with work to do. Blinkers go back on. Veteran; without a win since June 2022 and 10lb out of the weights here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Razzo Italiano looks for a hat-trick after wins here and at Worcester last month. He can go close, but the booking of Freddie Gingell to ride FLASHY BOY catches the eye. Making his first start for last year's winning trainer and his second run after a wind operation, the Sageburg gelding could surprise them all. Eurkash, Only Fools and Copshill Lad are others to consider.
EURKASH shaped well for his new handler when runner-up over fences at Fontwell and can capitalise on a lenient-looking mark back hurdling now. Razzo Italiano is feared most in his hat-trick bid, with Copshill Lad, Only Fools and Rebel Intentions all in the picture too.
The most interesting runner is arguably COPSHILL LAD, who makes his stable debut from a workable mark and with new headgear added.

1st (1) (6/1 -33%) Vocito |
6/1(-33%) | (1) Vocito 6/1, In good form for new yard, winning twice over this trip at Worcester during the summer. Not disgraced in competitive Cartmel handicap latest and must enter calculations here. Dual novice winner in June/June and has since run well in a handicap; likely contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (2/1 +64%) Laurens Bay |
2/1(+64%) | (4) Laurens Bay 2/1, Runner-up sole start in Points and made a winning start under Rules when taking 6-runner bumper at Fontwell (13.7f, heavy) in March. Merits consideration on hurdles debut. Drew well clear of the others with a good yardstick when winning on bumper debut; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (13/2 -63%) Ridin Solo |
13/2(-63%) | (5) Ridin Solo 13/2, Point winner who showed ability in a trio of maidens last term, ending campaign with fifth at Ayr (16f) in March. Looks a likely contender on return to action. Fair form when placed twice last winter; in the mix if fully tuned up after layoff. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (16/1 -167%) Push To Pass |
16/1(-167%) | (8) Push To Pass 16/1, Improved from debut effort when second of 3 in juvenile hurdle at Exeter (16.7f, heavy) in December. Not seen since but is in good hands and is likely to do better this term. Close second in three-runner junior hurdle last season; tricky to weigh up; not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (11/4 +39%) Westerton |
11/4(+39%) | (9) Westerton 11/4, Useful Flat winner who posted a good third of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (10.2f) when last seen in June. Will be a danger to all if taking to this discipline. Useful Flat racer at around 1m2f; could be dangerous at this level over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (300/1 -200%) Granny B |
300/1(-200%) | (11) Granny B 300/1, Fair winner on Flat but done majority of her racing over sprint distances and isn't an obvious candidate to take to jumping. Low-grade sprint winner last year; stamina an obvious issue on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (250/1 -25%) Kally Des Bruyeres |
250/1(-25%) | (7) Kally Des Bruyeres 250/1, No show in sole bumper start and was a similar story on Uttoxeter hurdles debut in April. Can only be watched here. Tongue strap on for first time, had wind operation. Pulled up when 250-1 for hurdle debut in April; had wind op during summer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (250/1 -150%) Eagle Court |
250/1(-150%) | (3) Eagle Court 250/1, Fair performer on Flat but no real impact in a couple of starts over hurdles and looks one for handicaps down the line. Soundly beaten at triple-digit odds in two Worcester maiden hurdles last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (150/1 -50%) Take A Hike |
150/1(-50%) | (10) Take A Hike 150/1, Runner-up both completed starts in Irish points but minor promise only on in a couple of outings over timber. Beaten 40l+ on both hurdling starts in the spring and looks up against it here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (4/1 -100%) Ronnies Rules |
4/1(-100%) | (6) Ronnies Rules 4/1, Irish point winner who has looked a useful recruit for new connections, bagging a hat-trick in bumpers at Stratford (16.3f, good) this summer. Big player now going hurdling. Triple course bumper winner this summer; shortlisted on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (2) (80/1 -142%) Dublin To Milan |
80/1(-142%) | (2) Dublin To Milan 80/1, €50,000 3-y-o, Milan gelding. Closely related to fairly useful hurdler/fair chase winner Salley Gardens. Made the frame in a trio of points, latest in May 2023, but is likely a longer-term prospect. Remote when fourth on British point debut last spring; makes rules debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (150/1 -650%) Polly Pi |
150/1(-650%) | (12) Polly Pi 150/1, Shaped with promise in both bumper starts, latest when fourth of 9 at Worcester (16f, good) 40 days ago, but will need more to take a hand on hurdles debut here. Showed some promise in summer bumpers but needs significant improvement here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Vocito returns to novice company after struggling in a Cartmel handicap, but he has impressed at this level twice at Worcester and seems a decent sort. However, he has to give 12lb or more to his rivals here, including triple bumper winner Ronnies Rules, and the interesting WESTERTON. Alan King's four-year-old was last seen finishing third at Newcastle on the level and, with a peak Flat rating of 100, he is an interesting recruit if he takes to hurdling.
There should be more to come from RIDIN SOLO this season and he gets the nod in a tricky-looking contest. Hurdling-debutants Westerton and Ronnies Rules head the list of dangers.
A few of these have possibilities but LAURENS BAY made a pleasing start to his rules career in a bumper in March and gets the nod.

1st (4) (14/1 +13%) Balkardy |
14/1(+13%) | (4) Balkardy 14/1, Gained reward for consistency when gaining a first success of last season in a handicap hurdle at Musselburgh (23.8f, soft) in February. Little impact all 3 subsequent starts, though, latest effort coming back over the larger obstacles in April. Plenty to prove. Suffered bad slump in form after game hurdle win in February; back from a break today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/2 +10%) Mumford's Magic |
9/2(+10%) | (5) Mumford's Magic 9/2, Fair maiden hurdler who was narrowly denied at Hexham last November. Well held at Huntingdon later that month and failed to progress stepping into handicap company at Sandown back in February. Market check advised on return/chase debut for top yard. Well beaten on handicap hurdle debut in February but may fare better now chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (7/1 -300%) The Boola Boss |
7/1(-300%) | (3) The Boola Boss 7/1, Showed improved form to notch a third victory over fences at this C&D (good) when last seen in May, albeit it was a thin race. 7 lb rise to contend with but that shouldn't prevent a bold bid on reappearance. Made all over C&D in May but 7lb rise demands more and he may need the ground to dry out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (13/2 -225%) Post Chaise |
13/2(-225%) | (2) Post Chaise 13/2, Building a fine strike-rate over fences, notching a fifth win over the larger obstacles at Market Rasen (27.6f, good) when last seen in May (3-3 at that venue). Leading contender provided he's ready to roll. Career-best form when winning over 3m3f in May; usual headgear missing after break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (5/4 +69%) Ballycamus |
5/4(+69%) | (1) Ballycamus 5/4, Made a successful debut over fences at Chepstow last December and added to his tally in 2m 4f handicap at Warwick following month. Has finished runner-up on all 3 subsequent starts and has a big shout returning from 6 months off with yard firing on all cylinders. Won two chases last season and was still in good form in the spring when last seen. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Last-time-out winner Post Chaise has improved for the application of blinkers and the lack of headgear on his return to action tempers enthusiasm. With that in mind, it could be worth taking a punt on Nigel Twiston-Davies' BALLYCAMUS on his seasonal debut. The Naunton-based yard are flying at present and the seven-year-old looks to have more to offer over fences. C&D scorer The Boola Boss is feared most.
Nigel Twiston-Davies has his string in fine order at present and his BALLYCAMUS is selected to make a winning return at the expense of The Boola Boss, who took his form up a notch when recording a third victory over fences at this C&D back in May. Post Chaise was another last-time-out winner, so he rounds off the shortlist on reappearance.
Two of these were last-time-out winners but this may be best left to BALLYCAMUS, who did well during his first season over fences.

1st (3) (10/3 +17%) Hard As Nails |
10/3(+17%) | (3) Hard As Nails 10/3, Dual bumper winner who landed the odds when making it third time lucky over hurdles in a 2m Southwell mares' maiden in May. Placed both subsequent starts and while more is needed now moving into handicap company, she is in good hands and can hardly be labelled as exposed. In the frame all five hurdling starts; can go well from the front on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (7/2 -17%) Eaton Anne |
7/2(-17%) | (6) Eaton Anne 7/2, Successful sole start in Irish points last November and has acquitted himself well both starts under Rules, latterly finding just one too good in a Cartmel novice (17.2f, soft). Improvement needed now pitched into a handicap on the back of a break but he's in good hands and unexposed. Placed on both hurdling starts (2m/2m1f) and should have improvement to come in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/1 -100%) Paddys Island |
9/1(-100%) | (4) Paddys Island 9/1, Didn't need to improve much to open his account at the second time of asking here (16.3f, good) in July. Found out under a penalty in a better race back at this course later that month but makes his handicap debut off what looks a fair mark and he has very low mileage. Course maiden winner in the summer and open to improvement in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (22/1 -300%) River Robe |
22/1(-300%) | (5) River Robe 22/1, Made winning start for Dan Skelton on the back of a wind op in a Market Rasen handicap in June. Latest second in a C&D selling handicap (good) was a pretty solid effort and she'll certainly have a chance if she puts her best foot forward on debut for another new yard. Good second of 15 over C&D for Dan Skelton last month; recently sold for 1,600gns. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (6/1 +63%) Crac De Megaudais |
6/1(+63%) | (10) Crac De Megaudais 6/1, Has bettered his no-shows in novice events switched to handicaps the last twice but will need to improve in order to open his account here. 2lb wrong today but started off in handicaps with two encouraging runs; could have a say. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (20/1 -100%) Quick Of The Night |
20/1(-100%) | (8) Quick Of The Night 20/1, Off the mark when narrowly taking a 12-runner Worcester handicap (2m, good) in July and followed that with a creditable third off this mark at Uttoxeter. Misfired back up to 2½m last time but return to this trip should help and she won't be far away if on-song. In good form over 2m in summer but disappointed over 2m4f last month; ground a worry. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (13/2 +59%) Shengai Enki |
13/2(+59%) | (1) Shengai Enki 13/2, Demonstrated his versatility trip-wise earlier this year, landing a 23.3f Uttoxeter handicap in May followed by a 2m Worcester novice a month later. Has found things tougher since, though, and he's probably summed up by his current mark. Respectable sixth in competitive series final last week but others appeal more here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (28/1 -300%) Drop Flight |
28/1(-300%) | (2) Drop Flight 28/1, Landed 5-runner hunter at Exeter in March prior to falling early on in the Foxhunters' Chase at Aintree the following month. However, he hasn't threatened in half-a-dozen starts over hurdles so far, including on recent return/debut for new yard at Fontwell. Hunter chase winner in the spring; tailed off over hurdles on recent stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (9/2 +78%) El Vigaro |
9/2(+78%) | (11) El Vigaro 9/2, Best effort so far when fifth of 11 on his handicap debut over C&D in May but absent since and he's probably worth taking on. Tongue strap enlisted. Ran well when fifth over C&D on handicap debut in May but not seen again since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (28/1 +44%) The Cypriot |
28/1(+44%) | (7) The Cypriot 28/1, Modest form in bumpers and it's been a similar story over hurdles so far. Well-beaten 50-1 shot on handicap debut at Exeter in April; not seen since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (10/1 0%) We Ain't Walking |
10/1(0%) | (9) We Ain't Walking 10/1, Pulled up sole start in Irish points and it's all been rather low-key over hurdles so far. Big step forward needed now that he makes the switch to handicap company. Showed only minor promise in his qualifying runs but well worth a market check here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having hit the frame in novice company at Southwell and Cartmel in May, point-to-point winner EATON ANNE makes plenty of appeal on his handicap bow. An opening mark of 97 looks lenient and the six-year-old is likely to relish this step up in trip. Hard As Nails also enters this sphere off what looks a fair rating and the Fergal O'Brien-trained mare isn't taken lightly. River Robe and Paddys Island have the form to feature as well.
Handicap-debutants PADDYS ISLAND, Eaton Anne and Hard As Nails can come to the fore with preference for the first-named, who showed more than enough in three starts here during the summer to suggest that he will be competitive off this mark. Quick of The Night will also have a chance if she puts her best foot forward.
Winning Irish pointer EATON ANNE (nap) launched his hurdling career with two good efforts in the spring and still has more to offer.

1st (6) (4/1 -33%) Bridget Mary |
4/1(-33%) | (6) Bridget Mary 4/1, Point winner who posted her best effort over timber when second of 11 in handicap hurdle here (26.4f, good) in May. Another decent effort when fifth at Ffos Las later that month and there's a good chance that she'll be seen in a better light now tackling fences. In good form over 3m+ over hurdles in the spring; makes chasing debut after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (8/1 +11%) Libor Lad |
8/1(+11%) | (2) Libor Lad 8/1, Winner of 2½m handicaps in the mud at Uttoxeter and Doncaster last winter. Ended last season with a couple of poor efforts but the latest was in a Class 2 contest and he could have a part to play if his jumping passes the test now switched to fences. 10l hurdle winner in February but ended last season with two lesser efforts; chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (17/2 +15%) Nadim |
17/2(+15%) | (3) Nadim 17/2, Three-time winner over hurdles in 2023 but rather in-and-out so far this year and he's opposable sent chasing on debut for another new yard. Has very mixed hurdle/Flat record this year; with yet another new yard for chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (15/8 +46%) Eric Carmen |
15/8(+46%) | (8) Eric Carmen 15/8, Irish point winner who capitalised on his falling mark over hurdles at Southwell (20.4f, heavy) in May. Showed more than on first 2 starts in this sphere when third of 13 back at Southwell recently and that's the best chase form on offer. Failed to complete first two chases but ran well when third at Southwell on Thursday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (66/1 +0%) Mr Sociable |
66/1(+0%) | (11) Mr Sociable 66/1, Poor maiden for whom hopes are pinned on the first-time tongue strap sparking significant improvement. Pulled up in three of his first four chases, and achieved very little when he completed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (6/1 -33%) Buck Of Maine |
6/1(-33%) | (9) Buck Of Maine 6/1, Maiden who showed first form over jumps (in first-time blinkers) when third over this C&D in July. Hasn't built on that in 3 starts subsequently (not convincing with his jumping) but the ability is there if he is able to get it together on the jumping front. Placed in modest C&D chase in July but subsequent form is uninspiring. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (25/1 -79%) Toronet |
25/1(-79%) | (1) Toronet 25/1, Winner of a French claiming hurdle last February and bettered previous efforts on these shores when third in a 6-runner Uttoxeter handicap (19.9f, heavy) at the beginning of this year. However, he didn't show a great deal on chase debut at Cartmel when last seen in July. Never competitive on chasing debut in July but will appreciate this ease in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (13/2 -117%) Everyonesacritic |
13/2(-117%) | (5) Everyonesacritic 13/2, Made a successful handicap debut with cheekpieces added at Musselburgh (19.8f, soft) in February. Best effort since when third at Southwell on latest start in May and this former point winner is very much of interest now switched to fences. Irish point winner; placed over hurdles on latest outing in May; appeals on chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (25/1 +0%) Boom Boom |
25/1(+0%) | (4) Boom Boom 25/1, Got off the mark in 2m maiden hurdle at Wincanton in April 2023 for Nicky Henderson but it's largely been a case of heavy defeats since switched to the larger obstacles. Excelled himself when third from a long way out of the weights here in July; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (25/1 +24%) Miami Jim |
25/1(+24%) | (7) Miami Jim 25/1, Failed to complete in a couple of points and, having shaped with little promise in a trio of maiden hurdles, this 6-y-o is hard to warm to now sent chasing. Not disgraced in three maiden hurdles this season; makes chase/handicap debut here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (50/1 -52%) O'grady's Boy |
50/1(-52%) | (10) O'grady's Boy 50/1, Veteran who has offered little over hurdles/fences in recent seasons and he looks set for another struggle from out of the weights here. Teenager with 0-21 career strike-rate; can't be recommended. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
EVERYONESACRITIC has finished third on each of his last two starts in this grade over the smaller obstacles and he now makes his chase debut. Evan Williams' five-year-old might prove a different proposition over fences and it would be no surprise to see him return to winning ways. Bridget Mary is a point-to-point winner who is yet to taste success under Rules, but the switch to this chasing might bring out some improvement, so she is one to note. Of the remainder, Eric Carmen makes the most appeal.
Point-winners BRIDGET MARY and Everyonesacritic can be expected to step up on what they showed over hurdles now switched to the larger obstacles. The vote goes to the former, who may benefit from this drop back in trip and she makes her chase debut on a fair mark. Eric Carmen is the pick of those with experience in this sphere and he is third choice ahead of dual hurdles winner Libor Lad.
Class-dropper TORONET made a low-key chasing debut in July but is nicely treated on some of his hurdling form and worth chancing.

1st (4) (1/1 +64%) Gore Point |
1/1(+64%) | (4) Gore Point 1/1, Encouraging debut run when second of 11 in bumper at Ludlow (15.7f) 23 days ago, faring best of those held up. Underperformed at Doncaster next time and has been off 10 months since, but definite claims if back to form. Not seen since poor run last December but his debut second was promising. |

2nd (5) (9/4 +100%) Top Tier Gossip |
9/4(+100%) | (5) Top Tier Gossip 9/4, Getaway filly. Closely related to fair hurdler Gentle Connections, and half-sister to useful hurdler/very smart chaser Midnight River. Highly respected on debut. Half-sister to top stable's smart chaser Midnight River; must be considered on debut. |

3rd (3) (25/1 -79%) Bertie The Rebel |
25/1(-79%) | (3) Bertie The Rebel 25/1, Cockney Rebel gelding. Dam multiple point winner. Not an obvious sort on paper. First foal from a multiple point winner; stable 1-19 in bumpers during last five seasons. |

4th (2) (3/1 +10%) Ballymena Boy |
3/1(+10%) | (2) Ballymena Boy 3/1, €17,000 3-y-o, Diamond Boy gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler Kells Priory, stayed 3m. Dam, little impact in points, half-sister to smart hurdler/chaser (stays 3m) Tombstone. Wears tongue strap. Runner-up in a point and has joined a shrewd trainer, so looks a notable Rules newcomer. Second to a subsequent rules bumper winner in a point bumper in March; cost £10,000. |

5th (1) (100/1 -525%) Azaris |
100/1(-525%) | (1) Azaris 100/1, Panis gelding. Brother to useful winner up to 1m Alistair and closely related to a winner. Pulled up at Worcester first time out (for Nicky Henderson) and he's hard to make any sort of case for. Left Nicky Henderson after very poor debut in August; best watched on stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
GORE POINT shaped with plenty of promise on his bumper debut to fill the runner-up spot at Ludlow in November before running too bad to be true at Doncaster the following month. The son of Order Of St George makes his return to action and, if he can run to the level of his first start, he could be the one to beat. Top Tier Gossip is a half-sister to Midnight River and would be of interest if the market speaks in her favour on her debut, along with fellow newcomer Ballymena Boy.
TOP TIER GOSSIP makes plenty of appeal on pedigree and represents a top yard, so she's worth chancing first time out. Ballymena Boy has shown ability in points, so he's one to consider along with Gore Point.
Another chance is given to GORE POINT, who flopped on his second start but did well to take second from a poor position on his debut.
Ths is the racecard key.
