1st (2) (3/1 +0%) Be Here Now |
3/1(+0%) | (2) Be Here Now 3/1, Showed improved form when finishing runner-up on each of his last 3 starts as a 2-y-o and continued progressive theme this spring, winning handicaps at Newcastle/over C&D in recent weeks. Should continue to give a good account. Progressed as 2yo; 2-2 on Tapeta this year; up 3lb for recent narrow C&D win; bold bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (8/11 -18%) Cloud King |
8/11(-18%) | (4) Cloud King 8/11, Heavily-backed 4/6 and much improved when winning 11-runner handicap at Southwell (5f) on return 34 days ago, in a different league to his rivals. Handicapper has reacted but there's surely plenty more to come. The one to beat. Justified short odds in some style on handicap debut over C&D; up 12lb; do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (13/2 +68%) Torvar |
13/2(+68%) | (3) Torvar 13/2, Latest win at Newcastle in February. 11/1, last of 6 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW) 21 days ago, weakening early in the straight having raced freely. Needs to bounce back returned to the minimum trip. Won all three 5f starts on AW between late November and February; high in weights now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (15/2 -25%) Front Gunner |
15/2(-25%) | (1) Front Gunner 15/2, Thrice-raced maiden. 5/2, fifth of 11 in minor event at Newcastle (6f) in December, weakening when short of room last ½f. Switch to handicaps rates a plus on return but opening mark demands progress. Early promise at 5f then from the front over 6f; has potential back at 5f now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (50/1 -100%) Kipp Kelly |
50/1(-100%) | (5) Kipp Kelly 50/1, Lightly-raced maiden who was never involved back at the minimum trip when 4¾ lengths sixth of 8 to Be Here Now in handicap at this C&D (33/1) 18 days ago. Handicapper has relinquished his grip but others appeal more for win purposes. Well held in both handicaps, including over C&D latest; looks poorly treated. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Be Here Now kept hitting the crossbar towards the end of his first campaign but has gained just reward for his consistency this term, showing excellent resolution to complete a Newcastle/C&D brace. His hat-trick plans could be scuppered by CLOUD KING, who was backed as if defeat was out of the question on his handicap bow over track and trip and although his supporters were made to sweat a bit, he overcame a troubled passage to score with plenty up his sleeve. Torvar should be happier back at the minimum trip, and Front Gunner warrants consideration too.
CLOUD KING was all the rage in the betting and proved a different proposition switched to handicaps when running out a comfortable winner over C&D 5 weeks ago. He's been hit with a 12 lb rise but the way he went about things suggests there's plenty more to come. Be Here Now is progressing nicely himself and rates the lead threat.
Be Here Now has more to come but he could be pushed to give weight to CLOUD KING (nap), so impressive over C&D last time.

1st (5) (7/2 +42%) The Man |
7/2(+42%) | (5) The Man 7/2, Foaled February 22. £145,000 yearling, Mehmas colt. Half-brother to several winners, including useful winner up to 7.5f Justifier and useful 5.7f/6f winner Goodwood Crusader. Dam, 5f/6f winner. Yard 1-2 with their juveniles so far this term and he's respected on debut. £145,000 yearling; has useful pedigree; yard won with sole 2yo runner on AW this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (8/1 -33%) Storm Call |
8/1(-33%) | (6) Storm Call 8/1, Foaled April 24. Soldier's Call filly. Dam, maiden (stayed 1m), half-sister to useful winner up to 1m Electrelane. Represents yard in fine form, boasting an excellent record with their juveniles, so has to be worth a second look on racecourse bow. Useful pedigree and from yard that's always worth a look with 2yos; market helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/2 +68%) Rajeteriat |
9/2(+68%) | (4) Rajeteriat 9/2, Foaled March 16. Mehmas colt. Dam 5f winner (including at 2 yrs) out of 7f/1m winner Conversational, half-sister to smart winner up to 1¼m Road To Love. Betting should prove a useful guide on debut. Plenty of speed in pedigree and dam and two of her siblings won on debut; check market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (15/8 -36%) Amerjeet |
15/8(-36%) | (2) Amerjeet 15/8, Blue Point colt who couldn't justify strong support but still showed plenty of ability when finishing close-up third in maiden at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 10/11) on debut 19 days ago. Bound to have derived plenty from that and respected for good yard. Hung left when a beaten favourite for 5f debut at Wolverhampton; form franked since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (7/2 -17%) Addictive |
7/2(-17%) | (1) Addictive 7/2, Foaled March 15. €50,000 Kodiac colt. Promising start and likely he would have pushed the winner closer but for being forced wider than ideal when second of 6 in maiden (6/1) at Chelmsford City (5f) on debut 31 days ago. Open to progress and shortlisted here. Smart sprinting pedigree; shaped well on 5f debut at Chelmsford despite interference. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (50/1 -100%) Mister Coco Fizz |
50/1(-100%) | (3) Mister Coco Fizz 50/1, Foaled April 4. Prince of Lir colt. Brother to 6f winner Miss Mai Tai and half-brother to 2-y-o 6f/6.5f winner Miss Woo Woo. Dam ran once. Bred to be speedy but percentage call to look elsewhere on debut. Siblings include two 2yo winners but both needed time for this yard; likely to need this. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
There was a good word for AMERJEET prior to his Wolverhampton introduction and although he ultimately let down odds-on backers, there was enough encouragement to take from his one-length third to suggest that a race such as this should be well within range. Addictive also shaped like an imminent winner when runner-up at Chelmsford, especially considering he was the victim of interference. The Man, a 145,000-pounds half-brother to a Listed-winning juvenile, is the most interesting of the newcomers.
AMERJEET and Addictive have an experience edge and shaped with promise on their respective debuts, with the first-named narrowly shading the vote here. Of the newcomers, The Man looks a likely type on paper and needs monitoring closely in the betting, as does Storm Call for the Karl Burke stable.
This could be a warm race with the newcomers all worth a market check but the experience of ADDICTIVE and Amerjeet counts for plenty

1st (6) (2/9 +56%) High Order |
2/9(+56%) | (6) High Order 2/9, Promising type. Placed both starts in novice events, including when third of 6 in a class 2 at Newmarket (10f, good to firm) on return 11 days ago. Up in trip. Likely to improve and sets a high standard. Two promising runs at 1m (Tapeta) and 1m2f (turf); up again in trip but down in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/1 -67%) Emaculate Soldier |
5/1(-67%) | (1) Emaculate Soldier 5/1, €350,000 2-y-o, Sea The Moon colt. Much better effort 11 months apart when second of 12 in novice event at this C&D 55 days ago, admittedly having the run of things. May do better still. Much improved when runner-up over C&D back from layoff; one of two with clear form claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (50/1 +24%) Mr Zippi |
50/1(+24%) | (2) Mr Zippi 50/1, Dual bumper winner but never competitive both starts on Flat. Won two good-ground bumpers in 2023; well beaten in 1m4f events; not of interest just yet. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (150/1 -127%) Simply Red |
150/1(-127%) | (4) Simply Red 150/1, Fair winning handicap hurdler, fell on final start for Donald McCain. Well held in maiden at Ripon on belated Flat debut 11 days ago. Four hurdle wins; out with the washing on Flat debut; handicaps will be more suitable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (100/1 -100%) Renoir |
100/1(-100%) | (3) Renoir 100/1, Placed on bumper debut and has shown fair form both starts in this sphere, latest when third in 5-runner novice at Wolverhampton (12.2f) in August. First run for yard after leaving Ian Williams (sold for 14,500 gns). Plenty to find. Well held in two Flat runs; best watched for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (10/1 +17%) Dancing Highlander |
10/1(+17%) | (5) Dancing Highlander 10/1, €65,000 yearling, Highland Reel gelding. Brother to smart winner up to 2m Inverness and closely related to French winner up to 11f in L'aigle and 1¼m winner Glen Again. Dam, US 8.5f winner, half-sister to useful French 2-y-o 1m winner Summertime Legacy. Market should guide. 65,000euros yearling; market can guide but a couple of these set a useful standard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
HIGH ORDER bumped into a smart prospect on debut and confirmed the promise of that second placing when third at Newmarket's recent Craven meeting. The son of Frankel is expected to relish the extra quarter-mile he encounters here and can make it third-time lucky. Emaculate Soldier almost sprung a surprise over C&D on his return from the sidelines and certainly won't be sent off anywhere near odds of 50/1 now. He is the logical threat, unless newcomer Dancing Highlander is anything out of the ordinary.
HIGH ORDER has bumped into some good prospects when placed in novices at Newcastle/Newmarket and this looks an excellent opportunity for him to open his account. Emaculate Soldier proved a different proposition to his debut 11 months on when second over C&D 8 weeks ago and is a clear next best.
High Order is respected but EMACULATE SOLDIER has already proved himself over C&D and should come on for his recent return.

9th (7) (22/1 -57%) Bristol Hill |
22/1(-57%) | (7) Bristol Hill 22/1, Unreliable sort. Eleven runs since last win in 2023. 16/1 and eyeshields on for 1st time, seventh of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 27 days ago. Back up in trip. Others more persuasive. Latest two wins over 1m4f on Tapeta last spring; not gone on from encouraging February run. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (28/1 -133%) Spring Chorus |
28/1(-133%) | (2) Spring Chorus 28/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 20/1, good fourth of 12 in handicap at Lingfield (12f, AW). Off 6 months. First run for yard after leaving Ivan Furtado. Hood on 1st time. The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Alan King may be just the type to improve new recruit SMART CHARGER, who is best judged on his penultimate effort at Kempton over 1m3f when keeping on well for second behind a subsequent winner. The four-year-old is narrowly preferred to the unexposed Spring Chorus and Pierrefonds, who should be suited by dropping back in trip. Camacho Man and Red Dwarf are capable of being in the shake-up as well.
PIERREFONDS arrives in good form which counts for plenty in a race like this, and 12f may turn out to be his ideal trip. Red Dwarf and Crazy Crackers head the dangers.
Steps In The Sand makes a quick return from an abortive 2m run on Saturday and preference is for RED DWARF.

7/2(+0%) | (3) Masham Moor 7/2, Improved on recent efforts to win 8-runner C&D handicap 17 days ago by neck from Van Zant. A 2 lb nudge is unlikely to prevent another prominent showing. Reliable here and made it 2-6 over C&D when beating Van Zant latest; bang there again. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
EVA ROSIE has got closer to breaking her duck with each start this year and she must hold every chance if building upon a narrow defeat over this distance at Newcastle last month. Stella Barclay's filly has competed off higher marks in the past and may have too much for Masham Moor (first) and Van Zant (second), who were only separated by a neck over C&D recently. Fourth in that contest was Specialist View, who remains open to improvement after just five career outings.
VAN ZANT did well in the circumstances (fared best of those ridden close to a strong pace) when pipped by Masham Moor over C&D earlier in the month and is taken to turn the tables on his old rival. Jamie Spencer is an interesting booking for Eva Rosie and she also makes the shortlist.
Masham Moor and Van Zant dominated over C&D recently but the fourth SPECIALIST VIEW could still have some improvement in her.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Narrowly denied over C&D last time out and a winner here in January, COPPER MOUNTAIN looks the one to beat on her eighth start of what has already been a busy year. Makalu arrives with similar claims after scoring over track and trip last month, while Amaysmont has yet to strike for trainer Kevin Frost but is now a massive 25lb lower than his last winning mark.
MAKALU might be able to add to last month's C&D classified success. Copper Mountain has a win and close second to her name over C&D this year and is an obvious danger. Star of St James is another who knows where the winning post is here and would be a threat to all if reviving with Silvestre de Sousa taking over the reins from a 7 lb claimer.
Makalu has more to come at this level on the AW but FLYING PANTHER is a well-treated candidate for his new yard.

2nd (1) (4/1 +27%) Khamsin |
4/1(+27%) | (1) Khamsin 4/1, Eighth of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW, 18/1) 31 days ago. Now 10 lb lower than when fourth on handicap debut over a mile here in January and this trip could be just the ticket, so he's one to consider. Poor last twice; blinkers tried again (good run in them last October); well treated now. |

3rd (8) (9/2 +25%) Mayo County |
9/2(+25%) | (8) Mayo County 9/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Good third of 8 in handicap at Newcastle (7.1f, 9/2) 45 days ago, nearest finish. Needs to raise her game. Fair form in novice/maidens and on handicap debut at Newcastle last time; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (15/2 -50%) Notion In Motion |
15/2(-50%) | (6) Notion In Motion 15/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Good third of 9 in handicap at Newcastle (6f, 22/1) 13 days ago. More needed if he's to open his account here. Improved form on h'cap debut when 3rd over 6f last time; longer trip not sure to suit. |

5th (4) (17/2 -13%) Sir Bolton |
17/2(-13%) | (4) Sir Bolton 17/2, 16/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, ninth of 13 in handicap at Yarmouth (8f, good to firm) 16 days ago. Hopes pinned on first-time blinkers helping to aid a return to form. Won on debut last term (5f) but disappointing since; blinkers now tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (18/1 -50%) Madame Christine |
18/1(-50%) | (7) Madame Christine 18/1, 12/1, seventh of 11 in nursery at this course (6.1f) when last seen in November. Place possibilities off this reduced mark if she puts her best foot forward. Fair form in varied company last season; on a good mark but lacks a recent run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (9/2 +68%) Dingwall |
9/2(+68%) | (3) Dingwall 9/2, Thrice-raced maiden. 10/1, last of 5 in maiden at Ayr (5.5f, soft). Off 9 months and up in trip for this handicap debut. Stiff task. Modest form in 5.5f/6f maiden last summer; gelded since; up in trip; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (15/2 -36%) Twenty Bob |
15/2(-36%) | (2) Twenty Bob 15/2, 15/2, respectable eighth of 13 in handicap at Yarmouth (8f, good to firm) 16 days ago. Wasn't beaten far when fifth of 10 at Wolverhampton on penultimate start and, now 3 lb lower, he's not without hope. Fair form on the AW and on turf, including in headgear, but overall has a bit to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (11/1 +31%) Little Siskin |
11/1(+31%) | (9) Little Siskin 11/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fourth of 8 in minor event (50/1) at Kempton (6f), not knocked about. Off 161 days. Makes handicap debut and sizeable step forward needed. Well beaten in 6f novice/maiden company last term; may improve for 7f on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (125/1 -89%) Lady Invictus |
125/1(-89%) | (10) Lady Invictus 125/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 300/1, last of 12 in minor event at Wolverhampton (8.6f). Off 164 days ahead of this handicap debut. Well beaten at long odds in all three starts last season; hard to fancy on handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Having kept on from a position in rear, MAYO COUNTY posted a respectable third on her handicap bow at Newcastle last month. A 1lb drop in the ratings can only help Julie Camacho's filly and this looks a suitable opportunity for a breakthrough victory. The biggest threat may emerge from Notion In Motion, who produced his best effort to date when a staying-on third over 6f at Gosforth Park recently. Khamsin should appreciate this drop in class.
The return to this trip promises to suit KHAMSIN, who is on a good mark judged on what he showed on his first two efforts in handicap company. David Simcock's charge could be worth siding with in an open-looking contest. Body Parts will be a threat if able to get back on track, while Twenty Bob is third choice ahead of Madame Christine.
In a weak-looking handicap BODY PARTS is taken to bounce back from a below-par run last time. Mayo County should also run well.

1st (7) (4/1 +0%) Young Endless |
4/1(+0%) | (7) Young Endless 4/1, Career best when winning 11-runner handicap at this course (14.1f, 11/4) 17 days ago, well on top finish. 6 lb rise merited and he has to enter calculations. In good form having won twice over 1m6f here in March/April but yet to win at 2m. |

2nd (2) (5/2 +44%) Two Past Eight |
5/2(+44%) | (2) Two Past Eight 5/2, 7/2 and blinkered for 1st time, creditable second of 8 in handicap at Kempton (16f) 33 days ago, running on. Likely to be on the premises once again. 0-5 on the AW but sound runs at Kempton last twice (unlucky latest); can go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (7/2 +30%) Churchella |
7/2(+30%) | (1) Churchella 7/2, 11/2, career best when winning 7-runner handicap at this C&D 18 days ago by neck from Dark Mystery, despite missing the break. 3 lb rise fair enough and while more is needed this time, she should make her presence felt. 4-9 on the AW, last two wins over C&D; a contender but on career-high mark now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (7/1 -27%) Rock N Roll Pinkie |
7/1(-27%) | (6) Rock N Roll Pinkie 7/1, 20/1, good ½-length third of 7 to Churchella in handicap at this C&D 18 days ago, nearest finish. Should give another good account. Yet to win on the AW but close third to a couple of these over C&D last time; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (8/1 -33%) For Pleasure |
8/1(-33%) | (3) For Pleasure 8/1, 9/1, improved on recent efforts to win 5-runner handicap at Chelmsford City (16f) 18 days ago, responding well. Remains on a good mark up 2 lb and another bold show on the cards. Won on second AW start last time (first run at 2m); up 2lb and should go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (40/1 -186%) Man Of Riddles |
40/1(-186%) | (5) Man Of Riddles 40/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Chelmsford City in January. 33/1, fifth of 6 in handicap at Nottingham (16f, heavy) 9 days ago, left poorly placed. Needs to bounce back but will certainly have a chance if able to do so. Four AW wins, including over C&D in 2022; not at his best last twice; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (5/1 +17%) Dark Mystery |
5/1(+17%) | (4) Dark Mystery 5/1, Good neck second of 7 to Churchella in handicap (10/1) at this C&D 18 days ago. Shouldn't be far away but more will be needed if he's to go one better this time. 1-18; sound run last time when neck-second to Churchella; each-way contender. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
CHURCHELLA put a disappointment at Chelmsford behind her when regaining the winning thread over C&D. A 3lb rise in the ratings looks far from insurmountable for the four-year-old and she's fancied to follow up. Two Past Eight has been knocking on the door in recent months and is expected to give another good account, while there is likely more to come from Young Endless, who seems to love it at Southwell.
The suggestion is TWO PAST EIGHT, who went down narrowly in first-time blinkers at Kempton last month and he could have more to offer in this headgear. For Pleasure displayed a willing attitude when scoring at Chelmsford recently and he is just about second choice ahead of Young Endless, who was a decisive winner here earlier this month. Man of Riddles would be a threat if bouncing back, while there wasn't much between Churchella, Dark Mystery and Rock N Roll Pinkie over C&D 18 days ago.
In a competitive race for the grade TWO PAST EIGHT is taken to get off the mark on the AW. For Pleasure looks his main threat.
Ths is the racecard key.
