|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (8.5/1 -55%) Wajaaha |
8.5/1(-55%) | (3) Wajaaha 8.5/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Nineteenth of 20 in handicap hurdle (100/1) at Galway (16f, good) 6 days ago. Solid place chance based on his form at Naas earlier this year, finishing second in a big-field handicap in February. Overall regressive but definite claims in this company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (4/1 +53%) Desert Friend |
4/1(+53%) | (2) Desert Friend 4/1, Fairly useful chaser. Fairly useful winner at 16f in chases. 10/1, respectable third of 7 in claimer at Tramore (12f, good to soft) 30 days ago. 50/1(+0%) | (7) Howsthewoman 50/1, Poor hurdler. Remains a maiden after 21 NH runs. Blinkered for 1st time, good fifth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan (18f, soft, 50/1) 20 days ago. 7/1(+42%) | (1) Bigz Belief 7/1, Fairly useful hurdler. C&D winner. Latest win in hurdle here in June. Tenth of 14 in handicap hurdle (50/1) at Galway (16.7f, soft) 4 days ago. Faces a stiff task on these terms. Won similar event in June but has struggled since in handicaps; plenty on at the weights. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
DESERT FRIEND appreciates better ground and is eminently capable of a big run. He ran a fair race in third in a claimer on the Flat at Tramore last month, and it was just three runs back that he scored in a beginners' chase at Clonmel. Bigz Belief weakened out of contention in a handicap hurdle at Galway on Sunday, but it is worth noting that he made all to win a claiming hurdle over slightly further at this track in June. This is a marked drop in class for Wajaaha and it could spark him back into form. Market support would certainly be significant. Conna Cottage is far from out of contention.
Given that he is due to run on the Flat here on Wednesday, CAFE CON LECHE is far from certain to go to post, but it's worth noting that his success in a handicap hurdle at Limerick in March was gained on the back of a six-day break. Provided all goes well on Wednesday and he is allowed to take his chance, the 7-y-o will have a big chance on these terms. Conna Cottage could be the one to benefit most should Cafe Con Leche not take part, with Wajaaha and Desert Friend set for minor roles.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/1 -80%) Air Drop |
9/1(-80%) | (1) Air Drop 9/1, Modest in bumpers but ran to a fair level when fourth of 18 on Listowel hurdle debut (2m) in June and is open to improvement. Keen under inexperienced rider in bumpers of late; likely improver back hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (28/1 +15%) Marvel Star |
28/1(+15%) | (6) Marvel Star 28/1, Modest form at best in 3 bumper runs. Makes hurdles debut. Mild bumper promise, needs to improve for switch to hurdles to have a say. |

Sets the standard. Placed on all three 4yo maiden hurdle runs and rock-solid place claims again. |

200/1(-203%) | (2) Comeragh Belle 200/1, No form on Flat/over hurdles. Poor maiden under both codes, easily passed over. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A switch to hurdling could see COOLE CHERRY get off the mark. Willie Mullins' mare has finished runner-up on all four bumper runs to date, so clearly has ability. She is ground versatile and is sure to be well schooled for her first crack at flights. Air Drop performed more than respectably in fourth in a mares' maiden hurdle at Listowel. There is likely to be much more to come from her as a half-sister to a horse who has won five races over hurdles. Ta Na La has had three spins over hurdles and, having been placed in all of them, wouldn't need to find much more to deliver in this company. Glendars Mahler has plenty of experience in this discipline and has been placed in three maiden hurdles. She fell in the early stages at Ballinrobe, but is better than that.
TA NA LA paid late on for matching strides with the winner for a long way at Kilbeggan last month and certainly has a race of this nature within her compass judged on that performance, so she gets the nod. Coole Cherry has shown a fair level of ability in bumpers and will be suited by this slightly stiffer test now hurdling, with Air Drop also feared.

3.5/1(+65%) | (5) Hazelhatch Lady 3.5/1, Bumper winner who was pulled up first start 2 starts over hurdles but much improved to open her account in maiden company at Roscommon (20f) last month, running on. That may not prove her limit now she's off the mark. Down in trip. Definitely has two ways of running, 33-1 for her bumper and maiden hurdle wins. |

Maiden hurdle winner at Down Royal in March, stiff tasks since then including over fences. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
TIMOURID could fare best in this rated novice hurdle. Paul Flynn's charge landed a valuable handicap on the Flat at the Curragh in May and showed that he has a future over hurdles when taking a Roscommon maiden hurdle in July. Outsider Presenting Doyen took full advantage of a pace collapse to win in Killarney. That form has to be taken with a pinch of salt, however, she brought up plenty of bets so the win wasn't a surprise to many. Hazelhatch Lady made all and held on to score over further in Roscommon. She goes to work off bottom-weight and the field would be wise not to give her too much rope if the same tactics are applied.
TIMOURID created a good impression when making his first completed start over hurdles a winning one in a Roscommon maiden in July, and with further progress in the offing on that evidence, he's fancied to make a bold bid to follow up in this stronger affair. Presenting Doyen, following her Killarney victory 21 days ago, can emerge as the chief threat.

7/1(-27%) | (2) Downtherefordancin 7/1, Excellent fourth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Roscommon (15.5f, good to soft, 11/1) 31 days ago. Can make presence felt given he's not yet exposed. Improved from his handicap debut when staying on well from off the pace at Roscommon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (12/1 +33%) Baby Chou |
12/1(+33%) | (9) Baby Chou 12/1, Creditable fifth of 12 in novice hurdle (16/1) at Bellewstown (16.8f, good) 33 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Open to progress for successful yard. Placed form in maidens does not amount to much but relatively unexposed sort for top yard. |

|PU| (16) (100/1 -52%) Allez George |
100/1(-52%) | (16) Allez George 100/1, Remains a maiden after 17 NH runs. 80/1, pulled up in handicap chase at Clonmel (23f, soft) 161 days ago, tailed off when pulled up ninth. The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
DOWNTHEREFORDANCIN appeared to be crying out for a step up in trip in Roscommon and gets it here. He stayed on to be a never-nearer fourth over just shy of 2m, and looks a big player in this handicap. On Pearlofflorida's penultimate start, she enjoyed the good ground over a similar trip at this track and swept in by three lengths. She then didn't appear to quite get home when sixth over an extended 3m at Kilbeggan, but should appreciate being back over this sort of trip. Kellie's Dream won nicely over 2m2f in Kilbeggan which brings her right into contention. Cian Quirke knows her well and his 5lb claim is more than useful. Champagne Vacation gave best on the run-in over further in Bellewstown and dropped to third, so this journey could be more to his liking.
This could be a strong race for the grade with MAGNETIC NORTH taken to get his act together over hurdles and cash in on what is a generous mark given his Flat ability. Kellie's Dream is feared most, though Baby Chou is open to progress.

2nd (5) (6/1 +45%) Sea Road Fill |
6/1(+45%) | (5) Sea Road Fill 6/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Pulled up in handicap hurdle at Clonmel (19.1f, soft, 20/1) in May, always behind. Needs to bounce back returned from 3 months off. Pulled-up on his handicap debut at Clonmel, maiden form does not inspire confidence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (4.5/1 +10%) Scott Lang |
4.5/1(+10%) | (1) Scott Lang 4.5/1, Fairly useful winner at 13f on Flat. Fair form both starts over hurdles, latterly when third in a Punchestown maiden (16.2f) in June. Not at best in couple of starts on Flat subsequently but not out of things returned to timber. Unplaced on last two Flat starts, placed on both attempts over hurdles, should go close. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (1.38/1 +8%) Weseekherthere |
1.38/1(+8%) | (7) Weseekherthere 1.38/1, Opened account in a Roscommon bumper in June and matched previous hurdles best when third in a Ballinrobe maiden (17f) 16 days ago, outpaced 2 out and plugging on. Step back up in trip a plus and good showing anticipated. Bumper winner at Roscommon, 2m1f looked inadequate at Ballinrobe, good opportunity now. |

5th (4) (12/1 +14%) Mo Chruinne |
12/1(+14%) | (4) Mo Chruinne 12/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. 10/1, sixth of 16 in novice hurdle at Kilbeggan (18f, soft) 20 days ago, left in the frame last and no extra. |U| (3) (3/1 -50%) Attaboyarchie |
3/1(-50%) | (3) Attaboyarchie 3/1, Fairly useful maiden in bumpers who bettered recent efforts over hurdles when fourth in an 8-runner Wexford maiden (20f) in May. Placed in two bumpers, one good run over hurdles early in his career, questions to answer. |

|PU| (6) (150/1 -127%) Take A March |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
WESEEKHERTHERE has run well enough on three starts over hurdles to suggest she is capable of winning a race of this nature. The Gordon Elliott-trained four-year-old showed up nicely in two maidens before winning her bumper at Roscommon in June. There was again, plenty to take from a staying on third back over flights at Ballinrobe last time. Winning Flat handicapper Scott Lang has reached the frame on his only two runs over hurdles to date. The Paul Flynn-trained six-year-old has to concede weight all round but should be good enough to make his presence felt. Attaboyarchie has the highest official rating of those to have received a mark, while his jockey can claim 7lb. The Imperial Monarch gelding was a beaten favourite at Wexford last time but is a capable sort on his best form.
WESEEKHERTHERE matched her previous best over hurdles despite shaping as though the drop in trip was against her when third in a Ballinrobe maiden 16 days ago and, with this rating a more suitable test, she looks likely to make a bold bid. Attaboyarchie is a player on the pick of his form, and along with Scott Lang, heads up the dangers.

9/1(-157%) | (2) The Four Sixes 9/1, Thrice-raced winner under NH rules. Pulled up in minor event hurdle (4/1) at Fairyhouse (20.2f, soft)t. Off 8 months. Remains with potential and won fresh last season, so interesting handicap debutant. Maiden winner last November, given a break after a poor run at Fairyhouse, interesting. |

8th (9) (6/1 +45%) Clifftop |
6/1(+45%) | (9) Clifftop 6/1, 17/2, very good second of 14 in novice hurdle at Ballinrobe (17f, good) 16 days ago. Remains of interest back in handicap company. Three Flat wins, maiden over hurdles, more on her plate than at Ballinrobe last time. |

|PU| (5) (7.5/1 +46%) Lady Of The Vale |
7.5/1(+46%) | (5) Lady Of The Vale 7.5/1, Latest win in hurdle at Tipperary in May. 6/1, respectable second of 8 in novice hurdle at Ballinrobe (17f, good) 16 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Tipperary maiden winner over 2m, limitations exposed since in novice races, handicap debut. |

|PU| (3) (8/1 +50%) Typical Thomas |
8/1(+50%) | (3) Typical Thomas 8/1, 16/1, fifth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan (19f, soft) 27 days ago. Well treated if he can build on that. Decent form in conditions races last October, hard to fancy on this year's handicap form. |

|PU| (12) (25/1 +11%) General Maximus |
25/1(+11%) | (12) General Maximus 25/1, 28/1 and hooded for 1st time, first run since leaving Gordon Elliott when below form fourth of 14 in novice hurdle at Ballinrobe (17f, good) 16 days ago. Something to prove. Not a bad effort in a maiden on stable/seasonal debut but others have stronger credentials. |

|PU| (7) (28/1 -100%) Eco Pete |
28/1(-100%) | (7) Eco Pete 28/1, 11/1, below form third of 7 in handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan (24.4f, good) 52 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Not easy to make a case for. Remote last of three finishers at Kilbeggan in his first handicap, up against it. |

|PU| (4) (66/1 -136%) Eat The Book |
66/1(-136%) | (4) Eat The Book 66/1, 13/2, eleventh of 12 in handicap hurdle at Wexford (24.2f, good to soft). Off 15 months. First run for yard after leaving David Peter Dunne. Has work to do. Veteran rider partnered him to victory at Kilbeggan last year, lengthy absence to overcome. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
THE FOUR SIXES disappointed when pulled up at Fairyhouse in December but a reproduction of his maiden hurdle win at Clonmel the previous month would make him the one to beat here. The runner-up went on to win his next two starts and is now rated 135, while the third won a competitive handicap at Galway last week. If fit and ready after an absence, the Gordon Elliott-trained five-year-old looks nicely handicapped in this grade. Delante failed to give her running at Galway but the Tom Copper-trained mare went close at this track on her penultimate start. Perhaps, a return to familiar terrain will see the daughter of Walk In The Park in a better light. Junior Rattler stayed on nicely when second at Kilbeggan on his reappearance last month. The Oliver McKiernan-trained gelding should be sharper for that run, so rates a danger under Philip Enright.
TRUE DESTINY was on the up over hurdles in June and, despite a poor run on the Flat at Galway last week, he's worth a chance to gain another C&D success at the possible expense of Clifftop, who ran well in a novice at Ballinrobe 16 days ago. The Four Sixes is one to monitor in the betting on return.
If forgiven a poor run at Fairyhouse in December THE FOUR SIXES has strong claims in this grade based on a Clonmel maiden win

1st (3) (5/1 -11%) I Am Shadow |
5/1(-11%) | (3) I Am Shadow 5/1, Remains a maiden after 8 bumper runs. Creditable third of 13 in bumper (11/1) at Wexford (20.7f, good to soft) 34 days ago. Respected for all that she's vulnerable to less-exposed types. Consistent mare ground-versatile and a definite contender. |

2nd (1) (14/1 -133%) Adela Icon |
14/1(-133%) | (1) Adela Icon 14/1, Twice-raced maiden. Second of 11 in bumper at Ballinrobe (15.5f, good, 66/1) 16 days ago. Should give another good account. Much improved on recent Ballinrobe comeback when second; sure to go well. |

3rd (6) (0.44/1 +52%) Mount Sinai |
0.44/1(+52%) | (6) Mount Sinai 0.44/1, Mount Nelson mare. Half-sister to useful 19f bumper winner/hurdler Seabank Bistro, stays 3m. Has found a good opportunity on debut and should take all the beating. Yard continues with 65% strike rate in bumpers and major respect on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (7/1 +36%) Sleep Sound |
7/1(+36%) | (9) Sleep Sound 7/1, Once-raced maiden. Third of 16 in novice hurdle (50/1) at Kilbeggan (19f, soft) on NH debut 27 days ago. Makes bumpers debut. Not discounted. Promising Kilbeggan debut; yard in hot form and no surprise if she played a major role. |

5th (2) (40/1 +20%) French Milan |
40/1(+20%) | (2) French Milan 40/1, Twice-raced maiden. 40/1, last of 11 in bumper at Limerick (19f, soft) 14 days ago. Mild debut promise at Roscommon last month but well held at Limerick on softer ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (28/1 +44%) Phildante |
28/1(+44%) | (8) Phildante 28/1, Getaway mare. Dam modest 2¾m hurdle winner. Not an obvious sort on paper. Getaway mare is second foal of a 2m6f hurdle winner; unlikely debut winner. |

7th (10) (14/1 -17%) River Robe |
14/1(-17%) | (10) River Robe 14/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. Third of 11 in bumper at Roscommon (15.5f, good to soft, 20/1) 31 days ago. Not completely ruled out for all that she'll need to improve. Small steps forward on her three runs, further improvement could see her in the shakeup. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (40/1 +0%) Sheemore |
40/1(+0%) | (11) Sheemore 40/1, Once-raced maiden. 14/1, fifth of 7 in bumper at Downpatrick (17.3f, good) on NH debut 53 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Patrick Martin. Others make more appeal. Too keen and saddle slipped on Downpatrick debut for Pat Martin; since changed yards. |

9th (7) (22/1 -83%) Next Question |
22/1(-83%) | (7) Next Question 22/1, Dylan Thomas mare. Half-sister to fair hurdler Hardwired, stays 25f. Likely to need more time and distance. Half-sister to yard's hurdles winner Hardwired; likely all the better for this debut run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (150/1 -127%) Lady Goliath |
150/1(-127%) | (4) Lady Goliath 150/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Eleventh of 12 in bumper at Fairyhouse (16f, good to soft, 100/1). Off 15 months. Well beaten in all five bumpers. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MOUNT SINAI, a half-sister to a gelding that won his bumper first time out before finishing fourth in the Cheltenham Grade 1 bumper, is obviously interesting on debut. Like the aforementioned, she also represents the Willie Mullins stable, so is certain to know her job on racecourse debut. It would be no surprise to see the daughter of Mount Nelson make a winning start to her career at a track where her trainer does exceptionally well. Adela Icon showed precious little on her initial outing at Fairyhouse in December but subsequently made a hot favourite pull out all the stops when just being denied at Ballinrobe. A reproduction of that latter effort would make the David Harry Kelly-trained mare a serious contender. Sleep Sound shaped well on her debut when third over hurdles at Kilbeggan last month so has to be respected now switching to a bumper for her in-form trainer.
MOUNT SINAI is with a top yard and related to a bumper winner, so she's worth chancing to make a successful start in a race where the bar isn't set all that high by those with experience. Adela Icon and I Am Shadow might well fight it out if the selection doesn't come up to expectations.
The Willie Mullins-trained MOUNT SINAI, a half-sister to the yard's debut bumper winner Seabank Bistro, gets the vote on debut
Ths is the racecard key.
