Imperial Data

5/2(+17%)
(7) Imperial Data 5/2, Irish point winner who, having hit the crossbar on each of his first 3 starts under Rules, deservedly got his head in front when seeing off 7 rivals in a Kelso maiden (20.9f, good to firm) 3 weeks ago. That was his first run following a wind op and he probably has more to offer.
Winning Irish pointer; won Kelso maiden hurdle last time after a wind op; interesting.

C&D winner in 2022; below par this summer having missed a year; bit to prove now.
LTO Selection:

13:30 Sedgefield Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

IMPERIAL DATA got off the mark under Rules at Kelso last month and that form suggests that he could be hard to beat now returned to handicap company. Ragamuffin failed to fire on soft ground last time but is more than capable of going well here if the rain stays away, while Ve Day and Dream Jet are others who could go well.

DREAM JET and Imperial Data both have relatively low mileage and could be the pair to concentrate on. The latter appeared to have benefited from a wind operation when opening his hurdles account at Kelso and he is not passed over lightly, but Dream Jet is marginally preferred on the back of his breakthrough success at Stratford.Titanium Bullet makes each-way appeal, while Cabrakan and Ragamuffin are others who could make an impact.

In a tricky race it could pay to take a chance on KAJAKI, who is not easy to predict, but won this race off 6lb higher last season

LTO Selection:

14:00 Sedgefield Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

THATS JET put in a career best over hurdles when a close second at Killarney in August and a reproduction of that level form may well be good enough to see him make a winning start for new connections. Think Climate has disappointed on the Flat this year but should not be underestimated here, while Weigh Anchor is another to consider.

THATS JET is exposed as a modest maiden on the level but has taken well to hurdling and, having pulled a long way clear with a promising sort on his final outing for Ross O'Sullivan at Killarney, there's no real urge to take him on. Weigh Anchor has shown a fair level of form on the Flat and ought to be up to making her presence felt in a race like this over hurdles, while Noble Hill Top is a debutante who represents a yard that does very well with its runners in the UK.

The experienced THATS JET\ is taken to get off the mark on his fourth run over hurdles by beating \bLatin Verse and Weigh Anchor.

LTO Selection:

14:35 Sedgefield Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

JUMPING SUSIE has filled second place in three of her last four starts but she has been found an ideal opportunity to go one better here. Wholeofthemoon showed some promise in both of his starts over hurdles last season and he managed to win on the level a few months ago. With that in mind, Donald McCain's gelding edges out City Vaults and My Chiquita to be best of the rest.

JUMPING SUSIE is proving a little expensive to follow but she showed a good attitude in defeat at Kelso 3 weeks ago and is worth one more chance to get off the mark. Wholeofthemoon makes appeal back over hurdles and is second choice, with City Vaults and hurdling-debutante My Chiquita others to note.

Brian Hughes rides WHOLEOFTHEMOON (nap) and the selection has won on the Flat since showing an aptitude for hurdling.

Lucky to finish second on chasing debut but still worth considering.
LTO Selection:

15:10 Sedgefield Handicap Chase (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

LATINO FLING held on to win in this grade at Stratford, which made it three out of her last four starts, and she has been let off lightly with only a 1lb rise. The daughter of Milan can continue her upward curve and go in again. Tupelo Mississippi filled the runner-up berth in a class 4 event at Hexham last time and he has had a wind operation since, so could have a say. Irish raider Construct warrants a market check too.

LATINO FLING made it eight wins form her last 18 starts with a gutsy performance on her chase debut at Stratford and, with the promise of better to come from this 8-y-o over fences, she is taken to follow up off just a 1 lb higher mark. Tupelo Mississippi is the clear pick for forecast purposes ahead of Hidden Depths.

Despite modest efforts in his latest two starts, HIDDEN DEPTHS is taken to win this quite competitive little contest.

LTO Selection:

15:45 Sedgefield Handicap Chase (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

FEARLESS finished miles clear of the third when only beaten just over a length at Uttoxeter latest, and he was given a 6lb rise for that. The eight-year-old was returning from a long break that day and he could easily take a step forward to go one better. Aliomaana was a close-up third at Stratford last month and she should go well, while last-time-out victor Tonto's Spirit has to be considered off 5lb higher.

FEARLESS returned from a lengthy absence with an excellent second at Uttoxeter and is weighted to go one better here. Aliomaana is feared most on the back of her encouraging Stratford chasing debut third with course-scorer Tonto's Spirit also in the picture.

Having broken a long losing run at Cartmel last time, TONTO'S SPIRIT is taken to follow up by beating the in-form Fearless.

LTO Selection:

16:20 Sedgefield Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CARDANO, who was rated 100 at his peak on the Flat, has to be of interest as he returns to hurdles at a modest level, and may well be able to use this as a stepping stone to bigger things throughout the winter. Copper Fox could be the one to give the selection a scare along the way if his jumping proves to be a little rusty, while Brian's Jet and North Parade are a couple of others boasting claims.

Not so competitive as the numbers suggest. CARDANO showed the benefit of a wind op when going in on the level last month and can capitalise on a good opening mark in this sphere. In-form veteran Balkalin is next on the list ahead of No Recollection, who should prove suited by dropping back in distance.

A few have claims but LEOPOLDS ROCK would have every chance if rediscovering his form from this time last year.

LTO Selection:

16:50 Sedgefield NH Flat Race (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Irish raider HYPERSONIC MISSILE appeals most after a commendable second to one of Willie Mullins' powerful string in a Sligo bumper in August. Tommy Time, who won a similar race in Ireland for his previous yard in April, is feared most after a respectable effort under a penalty on debut for new connections at Newcastle. Debutants Milochello and Pictou Lodge are others to note.

TOMMY TIME was a bit underwhelming on his stable debut but the form of his win prior to that is comfortably the best on offer, so he's worth another chance. Pictou Lodge's pedigree catches the eye and he's likely to feature along with Hypersonic Missile.

The standout form contenders are HYPERSONIC MISSILE and Tommy Time. The selection bumped into a promising one last time.
