LTO Selection:

13:07 Sedgefield Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GOLDEN DE COEUR posted another valiant effort in defeat when third at Ffos Las last month and a similar bid may suffice in what looks a slightly weaker affair. Get A Superstar makes his hurdles debut after scoring in a Newcastle bumper on his most recent outing and the six-year-old is feared most, ahead of One More Stroke, who offered something to work with on his Rules debut at Musselburgh.

Having finished runner-up in a brace of points, ONE MORE STROKE shaped with lots of promise when occupying the same spot in a bumper at Musselburgh 3 weeks ago. Sure to be well prepared for this hurdles debut, he's selected in favour of Golden de Coeur and Get A Superstar.

Two-time point winner GOLDEN DE COEUR has run well to be placed on his first two hurdle starts and is taken to come out on top.

Powered ahead on chase debut at Catterick, which bodes well for today's extra yardage.
LTO Selection:

13:37 Sedgefield Handicap Chase (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Horacio Apple's found the drop in trip to his liking when coming home in splendid isolation over an extended 2m4f at Bangor last month, and he merits respect in his follow-up bid. However, a 10lb rise will certainly make life tougher for the Saddex gelding, which brings NEW FOUND FAME into the reckoning. Kerry Lee's charge wasn't disgraced on his first completed start over fences when third at Chepstow in November and there should be more to come. Coniston Clouds enters calculations too.

CONISTON CLOUDS looked a good chasing prospect when going in at the first time of asking at Catterick and can edge out Horacio Apple's who is improving by the run over fences and rates a big threat despite taking a 10 lb hike in the weights for his Bangor victory. New Found Fame appeals as the pick of the remainder for minor honours.

Horacio Apple's won easily at Bangor but preference is for CONISTON CLOUDS, who is taken to make it 2-2 over fences.

Struggling over fences; major turnaround needed now back over hurdles in cheekpieces.
LTO Selection:

14:07 Sedgefield Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Boxing Day C&D scorer HALPHA SOLEIL appeared to win with something in hand on that occasion and a double could be on the horizon off a 5lb higher mark. There is a sneaking suspicion that Jubilee Gold could unlock some improvement now faced with a stiffer test of stamina and, despite pulling up on his handicap debut at Ludlow in November, he shouldn't be underestimated. Coup De Gold and I'm Too Tired are others to note.

The C&D handicap won by HALPHA SOLEIL on Boxing Day looks the key piece of form here. Micky Hammond's charge could have more to offer and is taken to confirm his superiority over reopposing pair Coup de Gold and I'm Too Tired. Robin Goodfellow is worth a try over this trip and also makes the shortlist.

The 5yo ROBIN GOODFELLOW kept on well for third over 2m1f here last time and this step up in trip can be the catalyst for a first win.

Step up in trip should pose no problems so he's one to consider.

Good runs on two of his last three starts and has more going for him than most of these.
LTO Selection:

14:37 Sedgefield Handicap Chase (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BEBSIDE BANTER's most recent run at Hexham was too bad to be true and he is better judged on his penultimate success here in November, when making his debut over the larger obstacles. Chris Grant's charge is narrowly preferred to Heeztheboy, who was a taking winner over shorter at Hexham last month. Unbeaten in two starts here, Royle Steel can also have a say in proceedings.

Alhough unable to justify strong support at Catterick last month, DR SANDERSON still took a big step back in the right direction from a tumbling mark so Ben Haslam's 10-y-o gets the nod to snap a losing streak dating back to summer 2022 at the expense of Heeztheboy, who proved a different proposition sent chasing when scoring at Hexham recently and could well build on that here. Bebside Banter and Eurkash can fight out third.

The very lightly raced 7yo HEEZTHEBOY (nap) won by 5l at Hexham last month on his chase and handicap debut, and can defy a 7lb rise.

LTO Selection:

15:07 Sedgefield Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SUNDAY SOLDIER continues to go from strength to strength and a hefty 14lb rise may not be enough to stop her landing the hat-trick following another easy success at Musselburgh last week. The slight step up in trip should not inconvenience either and she gets the vote ahead of Callin Baton Rouge and Riccirella, who ran arguably a career best when not beaten far at Doncaster.

SUNDAY SOLDIER is improving in leaps and bounds and can make it 3 from 3 in handicaps. Riccirella is likely to prove herself well treated when getting a strong pace to aim at, while Melvich Bay and Chicago Gal are a couple of others with solid place claims.

It is very difficult to oppose SUNDAY SOLDIER, who made it 2-2 in handicaps when bolting up at Musselburgh last Friday.

15:42 Sedgefield NH Flat Race (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This represents a drop in grade for FUTURE FORTUNE and, having disappointed in Listed company last time out at Ascot, the Hereford winner can get back on track. She should have too much for Speed Davis and Lawrenny, who shaped with a bit of promise on debut at Bangor last month. Newcomers Ada's Day and Noble Don must also enter calculations.

FUTURE FORTUNE's winning debut was quite impressive and she's worth excusing a lesser effort in a higher grade since, so she's fancied to resume winning ways for all that Speed Davis is expected to fare better than on his Rules debut. Noble Don is another one to consider.

Point winner SPEED DAVIS was an unplaced favourite on his bumper debut at Kelso last April but retains potential and earns the vote.
