LTO Selection:

14:05 Sandown Maiden (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

COVER POINT failed to make an impact in Listed company at York last month, but William Haggas' colt sets the standard down in class and is fancied to strike at the fourth time of asking. South Shore finished second to a promising sort on his debut and ought to go close with improvement on the cards. Nazron and Ziggy's Missile can battle it out for the minor honours.

SOUTH SHORE shaped well on his first run when runner-up at Ripon and can improve sufficiently to deny Cover Point who holds the edge on form and rates a big threat dropped back to maiden company. Nazron is proving a consistent sort and can't be discounted either.

It's unlikely that COVER POINT gave his true running in a Listed race at York having previously pushed a horse of that calibre close.

LTO Selection:

14:40 Sandown Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Recon Mission continues to run well in defeat and must firmly enter the reckoning now 2lb below his last winning mark, though preference is for DEVIL'S ANGEL. The son of Dark Angel bounced back when finishing second to a well-handicapped rival at Redcar, who has subsequently hit the woodwork from 5lb higher. Jedd O'Keefe's charge is similarly well treated and he can go one better today. Others to note include Four Adaay and Imperiousity.

IMPEACH took a big step back in the right direction when a debut third for Michael Attwater at Goodwood and can capitalise on a reduced mark now to gain a first turf success. In-form C&D winner Devil's Angel rates a big danger however, with the reliable Four Adaay and C&D scorer Recon Mission both in the mix too in a competitive sprint.

After a return to form at Redcar last month DEVIL'S ANGEL is taken to enhance his fine C&D record at the main expense of Four Adaay.

LTO Selection:

15:15 Sandown Maiden (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Ollie Sangster has enjoyed a fruitful start to his training career, so Awtaad filly Pure Of Heart merits respect with that in mind, but the vote goes to STRUTTING. The 425,000gns purchase, a daughter of Frankel, can provide the Gosdens' with another juvenile winner, having struck at Leicester on Tuesday. Ralph Beckett can do little wrong at present, though Frankelian (fifth) will need to progress if she is to reverse the form of her debut run with Our Golden One (third).

FRANKELIAN is bred to be above average and is set to learn plenty from her debut at Goodwood, so she's narrowly preferred to Our Golden One, who also shaped with encouragement first time out. Strutting is one of two interesting newcomers.

A chance is taken that FRANKELIAN will have learned plenty from her Goodwood debut when behind the equally promising Our Golden One

(3) Shadan Joy 8/1, Fair form shown on her first two runs but she came in only twelfth of 13 in maiden at Goodwood (7f, soft) 43 days ago. More is needed on her handicap debut.
Interesting on the strength of her second run, for all that this initial mark is no gift.
LTO Selection:

15:50 Sandown Handicap (Class 3) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

DARK ENCOUNTER appeared to have plenty in hand when getting off the mark at Newcastle a week ago and a 6lb penalty for that success may not be enough to stop him here. Metallo has been highly tried since winning a novice event at Salisbury in June and he has to be respected with his sights now lowered, while I'm Puzzled edges out Shadan Joy to be best of the rest.

DARK ENCOUNTER relished the step up to 1m when going in at Newcastle a week ago and a 6 lb penalty doesn't look sufficient to prevent him from following up. Newcastle-fourth I'm Puzzled appeals as the one to chase home Karl Burke's colt ahead of handicap-debutant Metallo.

Karl Burke's DARK ENCOUNTER has been raised to a mark in line with his penalty but that could still underestimate his rate of progress.

Not in bad form and a likelihood of a good pace would help should he break slowly.
LTO Selection:

16:25 Sandown Handicap (Class 2) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Silver Samurai bounced back to form at Newmarket last time but faces a much stiffer task off 5lb higher and up in grade here. With that in mind, preference is for AZANO, who put in a promising display when making the frame on his most recent start and a further 1lb drop in the ratings could see him return to winning ways. Atrium and Documenting are both capable of going well if reproducing their best form, while Under The Twilight should not be underestimated.

The vote in this trappy-looking contest goes to UNDER THE TWILIGHT, who returned to form when hitting the crossbar at Windsor where she shaped as though the return to this trip would be in her favour. Likely pace angle Azano will be dangerous if allowed too much rope out in front, while Silver Samurai's confidence may have been boosted by his Newmarket success and he also merits respect, along with Mitrosonfire and Priscilla's Wish.

The prospect of an easy lead heightens interest in AZANO (nap) who has run well now and again this season.

LTO Selection:

17:00 Sandown Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SWISS STAR returned to winning ways at Newmarket on her latest start and the manner of that victory suggested the extra furlong on this occasion would bring about further improvement. Coco Jamboo (second) and Peony (fourth) both performed with credit in a valuable York handicap last month and the pair enter calculations, while Hot Chesnut appeals most of the remainder.

The unexposed SWISS STAR found some improvement when emerging on top in a desperately tight finish at Newmarket, and there's a good chance that this step up to 7f will help spark another step forward. Hot Chesnut looks very dangerous on the back of a near-miss and is next on the list ahead of the consistent Coco Jamboo and Zabbie.

Ed Walker's PEONY might be able to reverse York placings with Coco Jamboo. Swiss Star remains capable of better.

(3) Tudor 14/1, Won at Lingfield on his final 2 starts in 2022 and has continued in good heart this year, his stamina seeming stretched in a well-run race when third at Chester (12.3f) in June. More needed as he makes his first run for yard after leaving Kevin Philippart De Foy.
New yard; both wins on AW but has comparable form on turf.

(2) Finest Leader 1.38/1, Has left previous form behind upped in trip with cheekpieces applied, completing hat-trick before improving again when narrowly denied by a very progressive sort from the Haggas yard (pair 7 lengths clear) at Kempton last week. 4 lb well-in compared to his future mark.
Progressive 3yo who just missed out on the four-timer; up 4lb in future.

LTO Selection:

17:35 Sandown Handicap (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

STRONG IMPACT built on her sole juvenile effort with a brace of runner-up efforts at Newmarket in the spring. The latter occasion came over 1m4f where she was run down by the winner late on, so the drop back in trip is likely to suit the daughter of Saxon Warrior. Born Ruler may have needed her latest run at Chelmsford when returning from a small break and she is capable of further progression. Others to note are Borgi and Gallimimus.

STRONG IMPACT has shaped like there's a bigger effort in her on each of her three starts to date and she's taken to prove herself ahead of a mark of 81 back from a break. Finest Leader is an obvious danger on the back of a solid showing at Kempton and Born Ruler can't be discounted.

The highly progressive FINEST LEADER takes on a fairly exposed bunch and has obvious claims before his 4lb rise takes effect.
