16:20 Salisbury Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SEA OF CHARM has been in consistent form of late over further and the way she has travelled through a few of those contests suggests that dropping back to 1m could prove ideal. The six-year-old looks to gain a first win since last December, while the capable One Step Beyond bids to improve on his first two runs for new connections now eased in class. Not beaten too far when third over 7f at Southwell last time out, Airshow may be the main danger to the selection.

A trappy handicap in which marginal preference is for LORD P who is taken to build on his encouraging Carlisle sixth and end a losing sequence. Sea of Charm is next on the list on the back of her Nottingham second, with the well-weighted One Step Beyond also in the picture.

Preference is for KING OF SPEED (nap), who looks a particularly solid contender on 2024 form. One Step Beyond is second choice.

16:55 Salisbury Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

This can go the way of MONTBELIARDE following a career-best effort when an encouraging second over 7f at Kempton last week. Stepping up to 1m could spark further improvement and the son of Oasis Dream gets the vote ahead of Bintmaha, who got going late in the piece over 7f at Kempton on her most recent start and an opening mark of 66 looks workable now upped in trip for her nursery debut. Bownder and Jack Andrea cannot be ruled out either.

MONTBELIARDE can race off the same mark as when an excellent recent Kempton second and with this step up to 1m also a likely plus he gets a confident vote. In-form maiden Bownder appeals as the one to chase home George Boughey's juvenile ahead of nursery debutant Bintmaha.

Provided he's as effective back on turf, MONTBELIARDE looks well capable of opening his account. Bintmaha is second choice.

17:30 Salisbury Stakes (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

THE ACTOR may not have progressed as hoped since a taking success at Newmarket in May, including when going off a single-figure price for the Coventry Stakes next time out. However, he remains a colt of potential and might be able to regain the winning thread now eased in class, possibly at the main expense of Brize Norton, who shaped with some promise when not getting home over further at Kempton on debut earlier in the month. Sands Of Marra is another to consider if bouncing back to the form that saw him score comfortably at Windsor on his penultimate outing.

There was a lot of market confidence behind BRIZE NORTON on his recent 7f debut and it wouldn't be any surprise were he to prove a totally different proposition for his top stable at the second time of asking. Previous winners The Actor and Sands of Marra should be involved, while Sarab Star and Sky Advocate are newcomers who make paper appeal.

The most notable contenders are form pick THE ACTOR and very interesting newcomer Sarab Star. A few others have possibilities.

18:05 Salisbury Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Three-year-old Little Miss Magic sprung a minor shock when winning at odds of 22/1 at Bath recently and the unexposed daughter of Calyx merits respect having been raised 2lb for that. TREACHEROUS is at an entirely different stage of his career, but the veteran proved he retains plenty of enthusiasm when on target at the Somerset venue last time. Liam Wright's 5lb claim negates the 4lb hike incurred and he is taken to go in again. Connie's Rose heads the remainder.

In a small-field sprint where none can be ruled out the veteran TREACHEROUS is taken to confirm recent Bath superiority over Connie's Rose and land a second successive win.

3yos Little Miss Magic and TWISTED TIARA appeal most. The selection looked willing at Bath in the spring and can rate higher.

18:40 Salisbury Stakes (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

MONSIEUR FUDGE might not have been seen for over a year, but the form of his debut effort when finishing third behind the useful Macduff has worked out well. He returns with his trainer George Scott in good form and, if ready to roll, he might be tough to beat. Shamran has shown more than enough to suggest he will be on the premises, while newcomer Fox Avatar warrants a market check ahead of his racecourse bow.

MONSIEUR FUDGE appeals as one who could be capable of making up for lost time and can provide in-form George Scott with another winner. Shamran is the main threat unless the betting vibes are strong surrounding Roger Varian newcomer Fox Avatar.

Easily the biggest form contenders are race-fit SHAMRAN and long-absent Monsieur Fudge.

19:13 Salisbury Handicap (Class 5) 8f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The unexposed MIDNIGHT DRIVE has taken a step forward since switching to handicap company earlier in the season. Clive Cox's filly has been raised 6lb for the most recent of her victories, but that may still not be enough to stop her here. Bonaventure also scored on his most recent outing and could prove to be the main threat, ahead of Daymer Bay and Blenheim Star.

CLAXTON BAY caught the eye a bit when third over C&D on his recent first run for Dave Evans and can build on that promise and deny the hat-trick seeking Midnight Drive, who switches to turf for the first time this evening. Last-time-out Windsor scorer Bonaventure completes the shortlist.

With further improvement possible at this distance, BONAVENTURE gets the vote. Midnight Drive is feared most.

(9) Apostle 8/11, Big improver at the second time of asking in handicap when seeing off 7 rivals over this trip at Chelmsford last week. A 6 lb penalty doesn't look enough to stop her with further progress likely.

19:43 Salisbury Handicap (Class 6) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

APOSTLE appeared to have plenty in hand when getting off the mark over this trip at Chelmsford last week and a 6lb penalty for that success may still vastly underestimate this unexposed daughter of Ulysses. Grey Owl has made the frame on his last couple of starts and is likely to be in the mix once again, while similar comments apply to Buxted Reel and Fravanco.

It'll be a surprise if there isn't more to come from last week's Chelmsford scorer APOSTLE, who can make light of a 6 lb penalty. Grey Owl and Buxted Reel can battle it out for minor honours behind Sir Mark Prescott's filly.

Provided she's as effective back on turf, Chelmsford winner APOSTLE seems set to progress further. Grey Owl is second choice.
