13/2(-30%) | (1) Bacor 13/2, Mehmas filly who ran to a similar level as on debut when third of 10 in maiden at Thirsk (5f, good to firm) 32 days ago, effort out wide 2f out and one paced. In good hands however, so likely she can do better moving forward. Similar level of ability in her first two starts, but may need to improve to win this. |

Dam lightly-raced half-sister to smart 1¼m-1½m winner Tanfeeth out of useful winner up to 1m (2-y-o 6f winner) (stayed easy 1¼m) Nasij. Another who needs monitoring in the market for clues ahead of debut. Stable can get them ready first time and market support for her should be noted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (17/2 +6%) Party Bear |
17/2(+6%) | (6) Party Bear 17/2, Kodi Bear filly who was tight in betting but never figured when last of 7 in maiden at Carlisle (5f) on debut 3 weeks ago. Represents a very good yard however and this ought to reveal more. Last of seven on Carlisle debut; better must have been expected and she may show more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (7/1 -27%) Lady Roxby |
7/1(-27%) | (4) Lady Roxby 7/1, Foaled March 5. £20,000 yearling, 180,000 gns 2-y-o, King of Change filly. Half-sister to winner up to 6f Lezardrieux. Dam 2-y-o 5f winner. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (11/8 +15%) Coeur Jaune |
11/8(+15%) | (3) Coeur Jaune 11/8, €140,000 2-y-o, Mehmas filly. Half-sister to 5f/1m winner Ziggy's Phoenix. 10/1, knew her job and made a bright start when third of 11 in maiden at Nottingham (5f, good) on debut 14 days ago. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (125/1 -793%) Miss Cast |
125/1(-793%) | (5) Miss Cast 125/1, Foaled March 13. €48,000 yearling, Acclamation filly. Sister to 7f winner First Encore. Dam useful French 2-y-o 7f winner. March foal by Acclamation; 48,000euros yearling; stable not prolific with 2yos. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
COEUR JAUNE showed good early speed before fading into third on her debut at Nottingham a fortnight ago and she appeals as the most likely winner. That said, both Charmster and She Went Whoosh make appeal on paper and market support should be noted ahead of their respective debuts. Bacor has produced a similar level of form across both of her starts but will need a bit more to come out on top.
A €140,000 purchase from the breeze-ups, COEUR JAUNE produced a promising first effort when third in a Nottingham maiden 2 weeks ago and, with improvement anticipated, she looks to hold sound claims of building on that and coming out on top. There are a number of interesting newcomers in opposition, headed up by She Went Whoosh and Lady Roxby before the benefit of market clues.
The choice is COEUR JAUNE who showed more than enough on her Nottingham debut to suggest a race like this should be within her grasp.

Maris Angel |
(12) (33/1 -106%)33/1(-106%) | (12) Maris Angel 33/1, Twice-raced filly. Fifth of 8 in minor event (10/1) at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 76 days ago. First run for yard after leaving David Loughnane and she's another likely to be of more interest in low-level handicaps moving forward. Hood on 1st time. Some ability in two starts on AW; makes stable/turf debut; hood on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (4) (20/1 -186%) Flowstate |
20/1(-186%) | (4) Flowstate 20/1, €26,000 foal, Bungle Inthejungle gelding. Half-brother to numerous winners, including 6f/7f winner Poole Harbour and winner up to 1m Soul Silver, both useful. Dam maiden. Market should guide on debut for in-form yard. Stable won this in 2017 and 2021; worth monitoring in the market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (12/1 +0%) Fox Spirit |
12/1(+0%) | (6) Fox Spirit 12/1, 140,000 gns yearling, Invincible Army gelding. Appeals on paper but easy to back and he ran to only a modest level when seventh of 16 in novice event at Wetherby (7f, good to soft, 33/1) on debut 8 days ago. This should reveal more. Some ability on his Wetherby debut; looks the stable second string here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (22/1 +12%) Canon's House |
22/1(+12%) | (2) Canon's House 22/1, 32,000 gns yearling, Zoustar gelding. Half-brother to several winners, including smart winner up to 6f Yafta and 6f winner Swiss Star. Yard's newcomers usually better for a run but he boasts an excellent sprinting pedigree. Worth noting if market speaks in his favour. Something to like on pedigree, but stable not renowned for winning newcomers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (50/1 -1402%) Rebel Empire |
50/1(-1402%) | (8) Rebel Empire 50/1, Lightly-raced gelding. Matched previous best without being best placed/still looking green when third of 8 in handicap (3/1) at Windsor (6f, good to firm) 16 days ago. Possibilities in a maiden lacking much depth. Has shown ability as when third at Windsor last time; one for the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (150/1 -971%) Bateman |
150/1(-971%) | (1) Bateman 150/1, Showed plenty to work on amid inexperience sole start for Paul & Oliver Cole when sixth of 13 in maiden at Pontefract (6f) only start at 2yrs. Looked unsuited by drop to 5f only start for Stuart Williams at Wolverhampton (5.1f) and since changed hands for 10,000 gns. Likely he can do better. Makes debut for third different yard in as many starts; looks one for handicaps after this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (66/1 -2540%) Oligopoly |
66/1(-2540%) | (7) Oligopoly 66/1, Offered plenty to work on when placed on first 2 starts in 7f maidens for Joseph O'Brien. Well held on nursery debut at the Curragh when last seen 11 months ago but lines up here having changed hands for 11,000 gns/gelded and pick of form gives him claims. Placed in the first two of three starts for Joseph O'Brien; interesting on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (13) (200/1 -203%) Rogers Dream |
200/1(-203%) | (13) Rogers Dream 200/1, Harry Angel filly. 100/1, shaped as if in need of the experience when tenth of 12 in maiden at Redcar (6f, soft) on debut 23 days ago, running green and never landing a blow. Best watched. 100-1 when well beaten on last month's Redcar debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (150/1 -1775%) The Bobster |
150/1(-1775%) | (9) The Bobster 150/1, Shaped with definite promise amidst greenness when fourth on debut at Beverley (5f, heavy) in September. Never a factor when last of 11 at Redcar (6f) a month later but gelded ahead of return and no surprise to see him get back on track as a 3-y-o. Promise on his debut last autumn, but ran poorly on second start; something to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (300/1 -200%) Doodlebug |
300/1(-200%) | (3) Doodlebug 300/1, Twice-raced gelding. Eleventh of 12 in maiden (150/1) at Redcar (6f, soft) 23 days ago, racing off the pace and never involved. Can only be watched. Well beaten in both starts last month; major improvement required. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (200/1 -4344%) Ice Pop |
200/1(-4344%) | (10) Ice Pop 200/1, Exceed And Excel filly. Dam twice-raced half-sister to very smart winner up to 1¼m Capezzano out of half-sister to Breeders' Cup Sprint winner Speightstown. One to note on debut. Enough in her pedigree to make her worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (125/1 -1686%) Idle Assembly |
125/1(-1686%) | (11) Idle Assembly 125/1, Twice-raced filly. much improved from debut when fourth of 6 in maiden (7/1) at Newmarket (6f, good) this time last year. Absent since and handicaps could be more her bag after this. Unplaced in both starts last summer; handicaps over further may be more her thing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (5) (250/1 -150%) Footonthegas |
250/1(-150%) | (5) Footonthegas 250/1, Twice-raced maiden. Last of 7 in minor event at Pontefract (8f, good to soft, 125/1). Off 8 months. Up against it. Well beaten in two starts at Pontefract last September; handicaps an option after this. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Oligopoly sets the standard with an official rating of 80 and is an obvious candidate ahead of his stable debut. He hasn't been seen for almost a year though, and so preference is for REBEL EMPIRE. Richard Hannon's gelding hit the frame in handicap company at Windsor last time out and a similar level of performance might suffice. Newcomer Ice Pop is also noted.
OLIGOPOLY proved very disappointing when trailing in last of 11 in a Curragh nursery on his final start for Joseph O'Brien in July. Gelded/changed hands for 11,000 gns thereafter, his previous efforts would be enough to see him very competitive in a race of this nature, so he gets the narrow vote to hit the ground running back from 11 months off. Rebel Empire can give him most to think about, whilst Ice Pop, Flowstate and Canon's House are a trio of newcomers to note.
It may be worth siding with OLIGOPOLY. The form of his first two starts for Joseph O'Brien reads well in the context of this race.

1st (1) (Evens +20%) Kardia |
Evens(+20%) | (1) Kardia Evens, C&D maiden winner who left reappearance effort in her wake when second of 9 in handicap (6/1) at Doncaster (11.9f, good) 19 days ago, having run of race. Low-mileage and she's one to consider. Lightly raced C&D winner who was back to form when second last time; could well dominate. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (9/4 +25%) Genesius |
9/4(+25%) | (3) Genesius 9/4, Model of consistency following success at Thirsk (12f) this time last year and he's returned in good heart, creditable third of 7 in handicap at Goodwood (12f, good, 6/1) 12 days ago. Cheekpieces back on and likely he can feature. Consistent since winning last summer, but a tactical event may not play to his strengths. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (250/1 -8991%) Yurinov |
250/1(-8991%) | (4) Yurinov 250/1, Bred to stay well and showed something like debut form when third of 4 in a Haydock novice (11.6f) 12 days ago. Looks the type to do better again now handicapping, including when stamina is tested further. Open to further progress now switched to a handicap; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (400/1 -6567%) Strawman |
400/1(-6567%) | (2) Strawman 400/1, Course winner. Bit below form thirteenth of 20 in handicap at York (11.8f, good, 14/1) 35 days ago, weakening over 1f out. Type to bounce back quickly. Without a win on turf since June 2022 and was well held last time; others preferred. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
In what is likely to be a tactical affair, KARDIA might be allowed an easy time of things on the lead and, given that this C&D holds no fears for Ed Bethell's four-year-old, she may prove tough to peg back. Strawman holds solid claims from his current mark and looks the most likely danger, while handicap debutant Yurinov can follow the pair home.
KARDIA left her reappearance effort in her wake with her usual hood refitted when finishing runner-up at Doncaster 3 weeks ago and Ed Bethell's low-mileage 4-y-o looks a big player with a repeat back at the scene of her sole previous victory. Yurinov rates a likely improver now handicapping and looks the lead threat.
This can go to KARDIA who has won over C&D and who may enjoy the run of the race out in front.

1st (2) (10/1 -25%) Batal Zabeel |
10/1(-25%) | (2) Batal Zabeel 10/1, Fairly useful form at 2, winning a 5f Beverley nursery before a good second at York (6f) on final start in September. Possibly in need of the run following 9 months off when seventh of 10 in handicap at Musselburgh (5f, good) 18 days ago. Should be sharper now with cheekpieces applied. Consistent last year and looked to need this month's reappearance; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/2 +62%) The Good Biscuit |
5/2(+62%) | (1) The Good Biscuit 5/2, 11/2, bit below form fourth of 8 in handicap at Haydock (6f, good) 13 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Remains early days with him and reappearance second at Leicester was an encouraging display. Not one to write off. Won twice on fast ground last summer and may need conditions to dry out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (28/1 -1500%) Moyola |
28/1(-1500%) | (5) Moyola 28/1, Proving consistent prior to taking a step forward to register a first success on turf in quite taking fashion when landing 6-runner handicap at Hamilton (6f) 7 days ago. Very much of interest under a penalty. Running well lately and should go well despite 6lb penalty for Hamilton win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (20/1 -25%) Ticktyboo |
20/1(-25%) | (6) Ticktyboo 20/1, Bright start to the season, making a bold bid from the front when second at Redcar (5f, soft) in May. Rare slow start forced a change of tactics when sixth of 9 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) 12 days ago and better showing anticipated. 0-8; placed in first two starts after returning, but held last time; needs to bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (125/1 -1823%) Keldeo |
125/1(-1823%) | (8) Keldeo 125/1, Latest win at Catterick in May. 10/1, creditable third of 10 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) 12 days ago, plugging on final 1f. Building up a solid profile in handicaps and another holding claims kept to 6f. Dual winner who seemed to stay this trip when third at Thirsk last time; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (40/1 -700%) Ziggy's Queen |
40/1(-700%) | (4) Ziggy's Queen 40/1, Matched pick of her form when landing 3-runner conditions' event at Musselburgh (5f, soft) in September. Showed benefit of reappearance run when third of 7 in handicap at Hamilton (6f) 17 days ago and she's one to consider here. Close third at Hamilton last time; each-way claims again from the same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (350/1 -1650%) Game Breaker |
350/1(-1650%) | (3) Game Breaker 350/1, Successful making nursery debut at Thirsk (6f) on final start for Ralph Beckett last summer. Changed hands for 18,000 gns thereafter but yet to scale same heights in pair of starts for new yard in handicaps at Ripon/Carlisle. Mark is steadily easing at least. Nursery winner last summer, but little impact in two starts since returning for this yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (125/1 -3025%) Cash In |
125/1(-3025%) | (7) Cash In 125/1, Profitable gelding who showed much improved form on quicker ground when second of 8 in a C&D novice 2 weeks ago, going down only to a potentially useful sort. Can do better again now handicapping. Just beaten in a C&D novice last time and opening mark looks more than fair on that form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ZIGGY'S QUEEN put in a bold display to hit the frame when dropped to this level at Hamilton earlier in the month and the handicapper may have been kind to leave her mark unchanged. Richard Fahey's filly may only need to reproduce that performance in order to get back to winning ways. The main threat may possibly be Cash In, who filled the runner-up spot over C&D last time and could have a say on his handicap now. Moyola is another to consider after his triumph at Hamilton last Wednesday.
MOYOLA found some improvement and ultimately ran out a pretty taking winner over this trip at Hamilton 7 days ago and he's very much of interest turned out quickly under a penalty. Ziggy's Queen and Cash In have wins in them this term and are feared, along with Ticktyboo.
The vote goes to CASH IN who was only just beaten in a C&D novice a fortnight ago. His opening mark of 72 looks workable on that form.

2nd (8) (22/1 +12%) Ribkana |
22/1(+12%) | (8) Ribkana 22/1, Remains a maiden after 17 Flat runs. 10/1, eleventh of 12 in handicap at Beverley (8.4f, soft) 21 days ago. Others more persuasive. Record here reads 224724, but is now 0-17 and looking exposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (6/5 -94%) Organic |
6/5(-94%) | (3) Organic 6/5, Promising sort. 2 wins from 3 runs this year. Career best when winning 7-runner handicap (evens) at Bath (10.2f, good) 4 days ago, readily. Carries double penalty. Quick-fire hat-trick on the cards. Bids for quick hat-trick under a double penalty; won easily last time; the one to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (3/1 +57%) Do I Dream |
3/1(+57%) | (1) Do I Dream 3/1, Course winner. Respectable fourth of 11 in handicap at Pontefract (8f, good to soft, 7/1) 26 days ago, never nearer. Up in trip. Can give a good account. Conditions will suit if ground remains soft, but stamina for this far remains a question. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (350/1 -5285%) Volcanology |
350/1(-5285%) | (6) Volcanology 350/1, Thrice-raced winner. Last of 8 in nursery (7/2) at Wolverhampton (9.5f). Off 7 months. Disappointed on AW after winning at Brighton; watch market on return from eight months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (200/1 -1900%) Dandy's Angel |
200/1(-1900%) | (4) Dandy's Angel 200/1, Fourth of 7 in handicap at Beverley (9.9f, good to firm, 14/1) 11 days ago, nearest finish. Acts on any ground and has dropped 3lb below her last winning mark; one for the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (250/1 -1983%) Love Yours |
250/1(-1983%) | (7) Love Yours 250/1, Creditable fourth of 8 in handicap at Wetherby (10f, good to firm, 12/1) 16 days ago. Remains unexposed at this sort of trip. Fourth in her last four starts, but now 0-13 and doesn't seem to be progressing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (200/1 -700%) Kittykarma |
200/1(-700%) | (2) Kittykarma 200/1, 11/1, last of 7 in handicap at Carlisle (11.2f, good to soft) 20 days ago. Others have achieved more. 1-16; modest so far this year and this trip looks inadequate for her now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Organic is aiming to complete a hat-trick in the space of a week for the in-form George Boughey stable after accounting for her nearest rival by over four lengths at Bath last time. However, she may be found out by VOLCANOLOGY in this contest. The daughter of Phoenix Of Spain ran too bad to be true on her nursery debut at Wolverhampton in October and she is worth another chance on her return to turf up in trip, while Dandy's Angel looks the best of the remainder.
ORGANIC has been much improved in handicaps this year and can complete the hat-trick under a double penalty. Love Yours and Do I Dream can follow her home.
Given that she won by over 4l last time a double-penalty may not be enough to stop ORGANIC from completing a quick hat-trick.

300/1(-2043%) | (10) Captain Corcoran 300/1, 20/1, below form seventh of 13 in handicap at Musselburgh (5f, good) 18 days ago. Blinkers back on. Hard to win with (3-49) and current losing run is up to 20; look elsewhere. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
PROTEST RALLY bounced back to form when victorious by over a length in this grade at Musselburgh on his latest outing and turns out under a 5lb penalty. The four-year-old brings the best recent form to this event and may prove hard to beat. The main threat might be Prospect, who wasn't disgraced in fourth at this level at Thirsk earlier in the month and he has to be considered off 2lb lower. Sassy Soprano completes the shortlist.
PROTEST RALLY was well on top come the finish at Musselburgh last week and he remains unexposed at the minimum trip. He can defy a penalty at the main expense of Prospect and Sassy Soprano.
This looks best left to PROTEST RALLY (nap) who won with a bit more in hand than the margin would suggest at Musselburgh six days ago.
Ths is the racecard key.
