14:25 Ripon Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Previous C&D winner FORESEEABLE FUTURE heads the shortlist after making all to land a 0-75 handicap at Ayr 17 days ago, and must have a strong chance of following up off just 4lb higher with leading apprentice Benoit De La Sayette booked for the ride. Ben Macdui is dangerously well handicapped and is noted, while Canaria Prince and Van Gerwen are also considered.

FORESEEABLE FUTURE is a pretty reliable proposition at this level, arriving on the back of victory at Ayr 17 days ago. A 4 lb higher mark looks within range so he can add to his tally at the chief expense of Ben Macdui and Canaria Prince.

Ben Macdui has hinted at a revival for his new yard but CANARIA PRINCE made a promising return and gets the verdict.

LTO Selection:

14:55 Ripon Stakes (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

VALADERO, who was second in both the Brocklesby and a Thirsk maiden, has proven ability and can put his experience to good use in an attempt to make it third-time lucky. There are a few interesting newcomers in opposition, though, with Strong Request, a half-brother to decent sprinter Crispy Cat, the most appealing on paper. Asadna and Sergeant Mayer are also worth a second look.

VALADERO sets a high standard for his rivals who are all newcomers and can put his experience to good use. Asadna and Strong Request are both likely types, but they will probably need to be well above-average to beat Valadero.

The step up from 5f looks a good move where the dual second VALADERO is concerned and he is taken to break his duck this time.

LTO Selection:

15:25 Ripon Maiden (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Ripon has been a happy hunting ground for William Haggas and the Newmarket handler can enjoy more success at the Garden Racecourse courtesy of the progressive MARKET VALUE, who made a pleasing reappearance when third in a decent novice stakes at Haydock last month. Stepping up in trip looks a good move for this half-sister to Evaluation, a useful staying handicapper, and a big run can be expected. Jo's Rainbow and Bosc Girl are the dangers.

MARKET VALUE makes plenty of appeal on paper and stepped up plenty on her sole start as a 2-y-o when third on return in a Haydock novice (1m) 3 weeks ago. Entitled to come on for that, she remains open to improvement and gets the nod to come out on top. There is a good deal of potential in opposition though, with Beautifulasalways and Bosc Girl heading up the dangers.

This step up in trip should suit MARKET VALUE, who looks to have slightly better form than the rest and is taken to score.

LTO Selection:

15:55 Ripon Handicap (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

MR BUSTER found only the progressive Wonder Legend too strong at Wolverhampton last month and, given the winner subsequently bolted up off a rating of 81, Ralph Beckett's charge appears to have been let in lightly off an opening mark of 80. Radetsky Marsch is likely to have more to offer now entering handicaps and isn't taken lightly, with the in-form pair Laser Guided and Roaring Legend also worthy of consideration.

Cases can be made for a few of these, but MR BUSTER gets the nod to make a winning start in handicaps having bumped into a smart prospect on return at Wolverhampton just under 6 weeks ago. Similar comments apply for Laser Guided, so he could be the one to give the selection most to think about, with Radetsky Marsch and Roaring Legend rounding off the shortlist.

Top of the list is MR BUSTER, who has strong form and whose classy pedigree firmly indicates he will be suited by this step up in trip.

16:25 Ripon Handicap (Class 3) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

PINAFORE made an encouraging return when fourth on her handicap debut at Newmarket last month and she looks to have a race of this nature within her capabilities. Coco Jamboo arrives here on the back of two solid efforts in defeat over 7f at Wolverhampton in March and she can be expected to remain competitive down in trip. Song Of Success could have more to offer this season and completes the shortlist.

The progressive PINAFORE shaped very well when fourth on her handicap bow/return at Newmarket last month, ridden much more prominently than the trio that beat her, and she remains of strong interest. Song of Success was a close fourth on her nursery bow at Lingfield on her final start and is feared most starting out for James Fanshawe.

There is more to come from Song Of Success this year but PINAFORE (nap) can confirm the promise of her reappearance fourth.

16:55 Ripon Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Runner-up on four of his last six starts, ISLE OF WOLVES deserves a change in luck and he can get that on this occasion with conditions expected to be in his favour at a track that should suit. He is now 3lb below his last winning mark and that may be enough to see off the likes of Little Ted and Young Winston, who wasn't beaten far at Wolverhampton last time out.

TELE RED is only 3 lb above his last winning mark and acquitted himself well over a shorter trip at Thirsk earlier this month. He gets the nod. Isle of Wolves and Little Ted head the list of dangers.

Preference is for LITTLE TED, whose style of racing suits the round course here. He's back up in trip and has conditions to suit.

LTO Selection:

17:25 Ripon Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

This can go the way of STORMY PEARL, who ran encouragingly on her return at Redcar last month in a contest that has produced several winners subsequently. Rebecca Menzies' charge likes to be prominent and is drawn well in stall three, where she could take some catching. Well-bred Doncaster winner Highfield Viking can follow her home, along with Jack Of Clubs for the in-form Michael Dods team.

HIGHFIELD VIKING took a step forward when scoring at Doncaster and is weighted to go close once again off just a 2 lb higher mark. Jack of Clubs is feared most if, as expected, building on his recent Thirsk fourth. Pontefract-third Hardy Angel is another who is in the picture along with Stormy Pearl and Lukla.

Jack Of Clubs and Highfield Viking are respected but HARDY ANGEL can confirm the promise of his latest Pontefract third.
