(3) Bert Kibbler 8/1, Latest win at Southwell in March. Best not judged on latest last of 5 at Nottingham as he reared badly leaving the stalls. Cheekpieces on first time.
Not solid but has a fighting chance if he takes well to first-time headgear.
LTO Selection:

18:00 Pontefract Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A relatively small field in which BERT KIBBLER can take advantage of a drop in class from his most recent outing. He was second off a 2lb lower mark at Ayr on his third-last outing and is fancied to get the better of Jarvis, who reverts to turf following a fair fifth at Newcastle last month. Recent Ripon runner-up Soul Seeker is also respected.

There were quite encouraging signs from the well-handicapped JARVIS on his AW reappearance 5 weeks ago and he's given a chance to build on that. Indian Sounds is on a long losing run but the Paul Midgley stable does very well in this race so he's feared most ahead of last week's Ripon second Soul Seeker.

The runner with the most positives is SOUL SEEKER. Second choice is Indian Sounds.

LTO Selection:

18:30 Pontefract Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Nariko makes plenty of appeal and Kevin Ryan's 600,000gns purchase would be dangerous to dismiss, especially as she is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Rumble Inthejungle and Group 2-placed Great Prospector. However, racecourse experience could seal the deal for NEVERSTOPDREAMING, who finished fourth in deeper waters at Goodwood last month. Soveraine is a half-sister to the German Group 3 winner K Club and also merits respect.

NARIKO was one of the top lots at the Craven Breeze-Ups, fetching a whopping 600,000 guineas, and it would be no surprise to see her make a winning start. The betting will be informative, of course, with Helga Brandt and Soveraine a couple more interesting local newcomers. €220,000 yearling Neverstopdreaming made a promising start at Goodwood and should improve.

The vote goes to very interesting newcomer NARIKO. Second choice is Neverstopdreaming.

LTO Selection:

19:00 Pontefract Handicap (Class 3) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

MATCHLESS was second over hurdles when last seen and that followed a success on the level over this distance at Doncaster. He is rated 4lb higher for that victory but that looks unlikely to stop him on his return to this sphere. La Pulga has to shoulder a 5lb penalty following a facile win at Hamilton last Thursday and is feared most, while Zealandia has dropped to 1lb above his last winning mark, which came over this trip at York last June.

Having caught the eye in a big-field York handicap last month, REAL TERMS could be the answer to this competitive contest. She did well to finish as close as she did on the Knavesmire, all things considered, and remains just 1 lb above her last winning mark. C'Mon Kenny also left the strong impression that his turn is near when a closing third recently at Haydock and he is second choice ahead of stablemate Zealandia and Matchless.

With the form of his latest success given a boost on Friday, CARRIGILLIHY (nap) could well add to his course tally.

Won here (2m5f) on return in April and followed up over hurdles latest; big player again.
LTO Selection:

19:30 Pontefract Handicap (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GIOVANNI CHANGE has been in winning form under both codes since returning from a 136-day break here in April and a 4lb rise for his latest success on the Flat shouldn't hinder his chances. Flint Hill has only been nudged up 1lb for his triumph at Catterick last month and is next best, ahead of Yorkindness, who is capable of picking up a race of this nature if on a going day.

GIOVANNI CHANGE is thriving in both codes, and with this revised mark more than fair, he can complete the hat-trick. Flint Hill has plenty of form at Pontefract and he's a big threat, with Easy Equation also feared back on turf.

The tough 8yo GIOVANNI CHANGE has won on the Flat and over hurdles in his last two runs and is a big player again in his hat-trick bid.

20:00 Pontefract Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

IRON SHERIFF wasn't disgraced when third over a trip shy of his best at Hamilton last time and a return to this distance could be enough for the gelding to regain the winning thread. A Shining Moon shed his maiden tag over C&D in May and he cannot be discounted, despite a 5lb rise, while Her Way makes most appeal of the remainder.

The vote goes to HER WAY who was a bit better than the result over 1½m at Thirsk last week and can take advantage of her reduced mark back at her optimum trip. The thriving Iron Sheriff is clear second choice ahead of Mc'Ted.

Well-treated TIBERIO FORCE is interesting back down in trip with blinkers applied. A Shining Moon is second choice.

LTO Selection:

20:30 Pontefract Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LORD ABAMA is well drawn in stall two and he was only denied by just over a length at Hamilton last time, for which he was only raised 1lb. The son of Profitable can be rewarded for his recent consistency and record his first victory. Another to consider is Milbanke, who has now dropped to only 1lb higher than his last winning mark and he could have a say. Grant Wood is also of interest.

Preference is for CAESARS PEARL, who pulled clear of the remainder when second at Ripon last time and still has relatively few miles on the clock. Lord Abama and Crypto Quest head the list of dangers.

Back down in grade, LORD ABAMA is taken to get off the mark. Caesars Pearl is second choice.

21:00 Pontefract Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Pearl Eye struck by half a length last time at Haydock in this grade and he is likely to go close once more off a 4lb higher rating, but he could be up against it to beat HI CLARE. The three-year-old filly shaped very well on her first start of the season at Hamilton over 1m1f and she is fancied to come out on top off the same mark. Another to note is Tasever, who tries this trip for the first time.

PEARL EYE is still well weighted andf might be able to follow up his recent Haydock success. Tasever, fourth in a more competitive race than this at York last time, and recent Hamilton third Hi Clare can give Darryll Holland's charge most to do.

This step up to 1m may well enable the consistent maiden TASEVER to open his account. Pearl Eye is feared most.
