18:25 Pontefract Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This can go the way of BROCTUNE RED, who arrives in excellent form and hasn't finished outside the first two in his last three starts. The slight drop back in trip is another plus, while he is able to compete off a mark 6lb lower than his all-weather figure, and he is preferred to Shimmering Sands and Westernesse, who remains a maiden after 10 starts but has shown promise since joining the David O'Meara stable.

This can go to BROCTUNE RED, who arrives in fine fettle and posted his best effort on turf when runner-up at Beverley last time. One For The Frog and Westernesse rate the principal dangers.

This can go to CLIFFS OF CAPRI, who is on a good mark and he is taken to return to winning ways back on turf in refitted blinkers.

18:55 Pontefract Stakes (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ORMOLULU proved her 40/1 second at Southwell on debut was no fluke when easily scoring at the same venue, and there should be plenty more improvement forthcoming from Jamie Osborne's filly. Oneforsue has done well since joining the Paul Midgley stable and can give her the most to think about, although Caesars Pearl has strong claims on her narrow defeat at Wolverhampton in March.

ORMOLULU stepped up on her encouraging debut effort when making all at Southwell earlier this month and should have more to offer yet. She can follow up. Oneforsue and Caesars Pearl look the obvious dangers.

This can go to ORMOLULU, who made all at Southwell last time and can defy a penalty

LTO Selection:

19:25 Pontefract Stakes (Class 2) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

George Boughey has done well with his two-year-olds already this season and MUQTAHEM has the potential to be another useful one after showing plenty of ability when third on debut at Hamilton. The step up in trip looks to be a plus and he may have too much for Nellie Leylax, who carries a 6lb penalty for a determined success at Beverley. A son of Expert Eye, Expert Choice looks like the pick of the newcomers for a stable that can ready one.

NELLIE LEYLAX did well to run down a front runner with prior experience on his Beverley debut and, with this step up in trip sure to suit, he's selected to defy a penalty at the first attempt. Muqtahem looks the obvious threat having shaped well first time up at Hamilton last week, while There's No Limit is pick of the newcomers before market clues.

The one that appeals most is NELLIE LEYLAX, who created a good impression on debut and she is bred to handle these quicker conditions

LTO Selection:

19:55 Pontefract Handicap (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CREMA INGLESA did well to finish runner-up at Windsor given she was positioned at the rear, and she could regain the winning thread now turned out quickly off the same mark. A 4lb rise for Golden Keeper's success at Southwell earlier in the month looks more than fair and he isn't one to take lightly. C&D winner Carrigillihy is only 1lb higher than for his September success here and he completes the shortlist.

UNPLUGGED was shaping up well in the winter, unlucky not to finish closer when third at Newcastle when last seen in December, and remains of interest back from a break. Crema Inglesa lost little in defeat when second to a useful prospect at Windsor 11 days ago and is next best ahead of recent Southwell-winner Golden Keeper.

The one to appeal most is CARRIGILLIHY (nap), who should be suited by the return to faster ground and he's bidding to make it 4-4 here.

LTO Selection:

20:25 Pontefract Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

In a modest looking affair, a tentative vote goes to BUTTERFLY EFFECT. George Scott's filly wasn't at her best when finishing sixth on the Lingfield all-weather earlier in the month, but her previous displays suggest that she has a race of this nature within her compass. Dancing Gypsy may appreciate the drop in distance from an extended 1m3f at Haydock and he warrants consideration, as does Ski Jump, who wasn't disgraced when placing at Beverley recently.

There was more than enough in DANCING GYPSY's penultimate run at Doncaster to think he's got a bigger performance in him at some stage so, provided he can leave a below-par effort behind earlier this month, John O'Shea's 3-y-o is put forward as the answer. Cantalupo Bella resumed her progress when third at Wolverhampton recently so she may emerge as the main danger, ahead of Absolute Queen and Butterfly Effect.

The step up to 1m2f and the step into handicaps should suit the newly gelded DIFFERENT TONE, who is open to plenty of improvement

Dual turf/dual AW winner; off since September but has gone well fresh, can't rule out.

20:55 Pontefract Handicap (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

VINCE LOMBARDI won in smooth fashion at Hamilton on Friday and a 5lb penalty on this quick turnout may not be enough to stop him from completing a double. The fact that Grant Tuer's four-year-old has yet to triumph over 5f will give hope to C&D scorer Ventura Express, who is now 1lb lower than his last winning mark, although Late Arrival may emerge as the chief threat judged on his returning third at Haydock last month.

VINCE LOMBARDI produced a career best to resume winning ways in comfortable fashion at Hamilton last week so is taken to defy a penalty. Impeach is in better form than her recent form figures suggest and is feared most from a sliding mark.

This looks between in-form pair VINCE LOMBARDI and Late Arrival with preference for the former, who is 2lb well in under a penalty.
