1st (2) (11/10 +41%) Gozo |
11/10(+41%) | (2) Gozo 11/10, Fairly useful maiden handicapper on Flat, stays 1¼m, again below form last time. Possesses the raw ability to make a big impact in this race if taking to hurdling. Tongue tie on. Maiden on the Flat but his form is up there in this company; should make a hurdler. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/1 +20%) Logistical |
4/1(+20%) | (3) Logistical 4/1, Fair maiden on the Flat for Andrew Balding. Only modest form in his 3 juvenile hurdles for new connections but he can put his experience over obstacles to good use here. Has the benefit of hurdling experience but doesn't set the bar too high. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (10/3 -77%) Sir Raj |
10/3(-77%) | (4) Sir Raj 10/3, Fair form on Flat, should stay 1¼m, below expectations last time. Has left Hugo Palmer but joined another good yard. Runner-up in three of his four Flat runs for Hugo Palmer, running to an RPR of 80 the once. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (40/1 -186%) Biscoff Joe |
40/1(-186%) | (1) Biscoff Joe 40/1, Half-brother to fair hurdler Tara Iti (2m-2¼m winner, by Sixties Icon). Modest maiden at best on Flat, well held on stable debut last time (previously trained by Gay Kelleway). Hurdles debut. Modest Flat form and unlikely to be the answer on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (11/1 +0%) Trussst In Me |
11/1(+0%) | (8) Trussst In Me 11/1, Down the field in varied events on Flat but wouldn't be the first runner from this yard to improve a lot for obstacles. With a good yard but beat only three rivals in her four Flat starts (1m-1m3f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (17/2 +15%) Feach Amach |
17/2(+15%) | (5) Feach Amach 17/2, Fair maiden on the Flat for Jim Bolger. Jumped tentatively on hurdles debut at Fontwell last month but she'll know more this time. Some Flat ability in Ireland but finished tailed off on her hurdling debut at Fontwell. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (33/1 +0%) Sundowner |
33/1(+0%) | (7) Sundowner 33/1, Poor maiden on Flat, well held in handicap on stable debut last time (previously trained by Eve Johnson Houghton). Stable has a good record in this race but this filly didn't show much at all on the Flat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (66/1 -100%) Silk Sonic |
66/1(-100%) | (6) Silk Sonic 66/1, Down the field in newcomers race and 2 minor events on Flat in France, sold from Y. Barberot €1,500 in February. Showed little in three French Flat runs but stable does well with juvenile hurdlers. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
GOZO was arguably the best of these on the Flat and he offers a more convincing profile than most as regards to stamina, so he edges the vote now he switches codes. Logistical appeals most of those with previous hurdles experience, although Feach Amach, who was rated 80 on the level during his time with Jim Bolger in Ireland, can also go well if building on last month's hurdles/stable debut at Fontwell.
GOZO isn't bred for this sort of test now hurdling but he's very dangerous given his Flat form if seeing it out and taking to this discipline. Sir Raj is feared given his ability on the level, with Logistical's experience over timber likely to take him a fair way against this opposition.
Logistical doesn't set the bar very high. GOZO and Sir Raj were of similar ability on the Flat and may dominate.

1st (3) (13/2 +54%) Tamaris |
13/2(+54%) | (3) Tamaris 13/2, Modest hurdler didn't appeal as an obvious type to make a better chaser (Flat bred) but wasn't completely disgraced on his chase bow when fifth at Lingfield in February. Entitled to be sharper for his recent return but others still make greater appeal with tongue strap on for 1st time. Combination of wind surgery, tongue-tie and new trip is the angle for optimism. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/1 +36%) Honneur De Sivola |
9/1(+36%) | (4) Honneur De Sivola 9/1, Made an encouraging start to his chasing career, filling runners-up spot at Huntingdon/Market Rasen earlier this term. Last 2 efforts have been underwhelming, though, beaten quite far out when pulled up at Worcester 12 days ago. Needs to bounce back. Still a maiden but has shown signs that he may win a race at some stage. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/4 -38%) Imperial Alex |
11/4(-38%) | (2) Imperial Alex 11/4, Took a sizable step forward when landing a Warwick handicap hurdle (21f, good to soft) in February and ran respectably enough in defeat when second at Carlisle on his next start. Placed in points, so is respected making chase debut after summer break, Ended last season in great form over hurdles; should make a chaser; appealing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (10/3 +17%) King Of The Story |
10/3(+17%) | (5) King Of The Story 10/3, Joined current yard in the summer and left his previous efforts well behind to cause an upset from 6 lb out of the weights at FFontwell (21.6f, good) 31 days ago, easily. Possible there could be even more to come. Easy success at Fontwell last month; possibilities if he backs up that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) (7/4 -17%) Gambie Tiep |
7/4(-17%) | (1) Gambie Tiep 7/4, Back to best since joining new connections this summer, gaining his third win of the year in emphatic fashion at Fontwell earlier this month. Up another 6 lb but clearly remains on an upward trajectory and should take all the beating again. Scored easily at Fontwell last time; 3-5 for current yard and unexposed at this trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
With Imperial Alex lacking experience over regulation fences, and both Honneur De Sivola and Tamaris needing to better their previous chasing form, it can pay to take the view that GAMBIE TIEP is up to the task of giving weight all round here. A 10-length winner last time out, a 6lb higher mark looks very manageable for the top-weight in this company and he is fancied to complete a double. Recent Fontwell chase winner King Of The Story is feared most.
GAMBIE TIEP has taken off since joining the Ben Pauling yard and he's fancied to notch his fourth win of the season. Fellow recent stable-switcher King of The Story looked a different proposition when winning at Fontwell last time and he can pose the biggest threat, whilst former pointer Imperial Alex could improve now going over fences.
Gambie Tiep is respected but IMPERIAL ALEX, who should improve further in handicaps, gets the vote on his chase debut.

1st (11) (8.5/1 -42%) Aviewofthestars |
8.5/1(-42%) | (11) Aviewofthestars 8.5/1, Well held all four runs over hurdles for Sheila Lewis, tried in a hood when only ninth of 11 on her handicap debut at Worcester in May. Lots more needed for his new yard after a lay-off. Poor form so far but Fergal O'Brien could turn her inside out; watch the market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (5/1 +29%) Rebel Intentions |
5/1(+29%) | (5) Rebel Intentions 5/1, Got off the mark from a falling mark in 6-runner handicap hurdle at Fontwell (21.8f, good) 31 days ago. Needs considering despite a 3 lb rise. Raced enthusiastically at Fontwell but found reserves to edge home narrowly; 3lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (6.5/1 -18%) Pollypockett |
6.5/1(-18%) | (9) Pollypockett 6.5/1, Bumper winner who came good over hurdles in 20.5f Market Rasen handicap in June. Runner-up at Worcester and Bangor since and likely to be in the thick of things again. Running well but handicapped about right by the looks; perhaps placed again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (6.5/1 +24%) Ten Past Midnight |
6.5/1(+24%) | (8) Ten Past Midnight 6.5/1, Has returned in good form, third in 2m Uttoxeter handicap in July. Much respected off an unchanged mark. Placed the last twice at Uttoxeter; has form elsewhere and he stays this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (40/1 -60%) She Has Notions |
40/1(-60%) | (10) She Has Notions 40/1, Arrives out of sorts, having a wind op (also visored/tongue tied) before being pulled up in handicap hurdle at Bangor (16.7f, good) 51 days ago. Others appeal more. 0-7 and has shown no form this season in various headgear; has too much to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (18/1 -13%) Ranco |
18/1(-13%) | (6) Ranco 18/1, Seemed well suited by the step up in trip when winning 2m4f handicap hurdle at Worcester in July. Beat only one at Uttoxeter (2m4f) following month however so needs to bounce back. Went out like a light at Uttoxeter but he's usually consistent in the main. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (10/3 +56%) Cherry Cola |
10/3(+56%) | (3) Cherry Cola 10/3, Maiden hurdler but he arrives in excellent form from the Flat so he needs considering back in this sphere. Second 12 months ago off same mark and has been running well of late on the Flat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (11/2 -22%) Proper Twelve |
11/2(-22%) | (2) Proper Twelve 11/2, Got off the mark in 11-runner handicap hurdle at Market Rasen (20.6f, good to soft) 135 days ago. Much respected after a break despite a 9 lb hike in the weights. Last seen in May winning easily off 9lb lower; could be very progressive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (13) (80/1 -21%) Shirocco's Delight |
80/1(-21%) | (13) Shirocco's Delight 80/1, Still winless following 18 starts but he wasn't disgraced when seventh of 13 in handicap hurdle over C&D 168 days ago. More is required from 10 lb out of the handicap, though. Remains a maiden and being 10lb out of the weights looks a major stumbling block. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (11/2 -10%) Icare Grandchamp |
11/2(-10%) | (1) Icare Grandchamp 11/2, Lightly-raced ex-French hurdler. Off 9 months before posting a very good second of 4 in handicap at Fontwell (19.2f, good) 14 days ago. Leading claims off an unchanged mark. Improved second at Fontwell last time despite racing freely at the head of affairs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (150/1 -88%) Ulysses |
150/1(-88%) | (12) Ulysses 150/1, Unreliable type who comes here out of form over hurdles and on the Flat. 9 lb out of the handicap too so others make a lot more appeal. Quiet under both codes this year and he's well out of the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (22/1 -57%) Sir Canford |
22/1(-57%) | (4) Sir Canford 22/1, Off the mark over hurdles at the third attempt for this yard in 2½m Uttoxeter handicap in July. Only ninth of 10 in handicap at Cartmel (22.1f, soft) 27 days ago though. Needs a couple of these to falter. Uttoxeter winner before disappointing at Cartmel, which can be forgiven. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Proper Twelve scored over this trip at Market Rasen when last seen in May, but a 9lb higher mark may leave him vulnerable now returning from a break. With that in mind, the consistent POLLYPOCKETT is preferred, with her match-fitness proven after a close second to a progressive mare last month and she can go one place better off just 1lb higher today. Ten Past Midnight and Ranco are also feared.
ICARE GRANDCHAMP resumed from a lay-off with a very good Fontwell second earlier in the month and Gary Moore's lightly-raced sort rates the pick of the weights off an unchanged mark here. Course-winner Systemic is also weighted to have a say and next on the list ahead of Pollypockett, Cherry Cola and Proper Twelve.
Plenty with chances but last year's runner-up CHERRY COLA should go well again after a number of solid efforts on the Flat this summer.

1st (7) (2/1 +43%) Our Champ |
2/1(+43%) | (7) Our Champ 2/1, Showed improved form over hurdles when runner-up in maiden at this course (20.5f) in December and filled same spot at Fontwell next time. Shaped better than the result when sixth on handicap debut at Newton Abbot in March, but off since ahead of first run since leaving Paul Henderson. Placed three times; could be on a good mark if Chris Gordon can get him going again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (15/2 +0%) Hiconic |
15/2(+0%) | (5) Hiconic 15/2, Took advantage of reduced mark when winning handicaps at Warwick and Worcester at the start of the current season. Matched that level when runner-up back at Worcester last time, bumping into an improver, but will need to find more as she goes back up in grade. Mostly in very good form this summer but looks vulnerable off her current mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (11/2 -22%) Get Back Get Back |
11/2(-22%) | (1) Get Back Get Back 11/2, Jumped better than usual when landing handicap at Kempton in November and returned to a similar level when runner-up at this C&D in April. Found it tougher upped in class on both starts over hurdles since, but he's not discounted as he drops back in grade. Has a good record here; 2m5f was too far when disappointing at Newton Abbot 22 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (11/2 -10%) Call Me Rocky |
11/2(-10%) | (4) Call Me Rocky 11/2, Failed to win over hurdles in Ireland but won his first 2 outings (maiden/handicap) for this trainer in July. Run of good form halted at Cartmel next time but has left that effort behind on his last 2 starts, running well when third at Uttoxeter 11 days ago. Respected. Done well since joining this yard and no reason why he shouldn't be in the thick of things. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (25/1 -14%) Magistrato |
25/1(-14%) | (6) Magistrato 25/1, Won novices' handicap chase on final outing for Paul Nicholls at Warwick (16.2f) in May and ran to a similar level on first 2 starts for current yard. However, below-par effort at Stratford (19.4f) in July and others look stronger as he returns to hurdling. Has been chasing; might appreciate this return to hurdling but others are more intriguing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (7/1 -40%) Pillar Of Steel |
7/1(-40%) | (3) Pillar Of Steel 7/1, On her third start for Henry Oliver, as good as ever when getting back to winning ways in mares' handicap at Stratford in August. Again ran well when third at Southwell 17 days ago, despite jumping errors in the latter stages, and can be involved once more on debut for new yard. Bang there in her last three runs for Henry Oliver, all 2m handicaps on goodish ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (7/2 +0%) Alien Storm |
7/2(+0%) | (2) Alien Storm 7/2, Fair form in bumpers and made a positive start over hurdles, successful at this C&D last October and better form when second under a penalty at Kempton next time. After couple of below-par efforts, bounced back when runner-up returned to Kempton in April and he's a major player. Off since his improved second in April but he should be fairly treated. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
CALL ME ROCKY just failed to reel in a couple of progressive rivals at Uttoxeter 11 days ago, but that would appear to be decent form for the grade. Milton Harris' charge is only 1lb higher today and gets the nod over Get Back Get Back, who won this race in 2020 off a 1lb higher mark and ought to appreciate the combination of a drop back in trip and class. Hiconic is another to consider.
ALIEN STORM bounced back to form when runner-up at Kempton in April and he can pick up where he left off to land a second C&D victory. Call Me Rocky has been going well for his current yard and isn't taken lightly, while Pillar of Steel can also give another good account on her stable debut.
A tight handicap. A chance is taken on OUR CHAMP who could be lurking on a handy mark if Chris Gordon has him in good order.

1st (5) (2/1 +33%) Post No Bills |
2/1(+33%) | (5) Post No Bills 2/1, Point winner who has taken well to fences, bagging handicaps at Fontwell (17.8f) and Cartmel in May. Last couple of efforts have been creditable so he's not one to rule out. Return to forecast better surface looks ideal; scored twice on good ground in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/2 +69%) Line Of Descent |
5/2(+69%) | (4) Line Of Descent 5/2, Got off the mark over fences at Stratford in April and a winner at Cartmel and Southwell since. However, poor efforts next 2 starts so needs to bounce back after a short break. Returns from 55-day break; won in April after the same layoff. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (15/2 +12%) Elios D'or |
15/2(+12%) | (2) Elios D'or 15/2, Off the mark over hurdles in April and winner of 2 of his 6 starts since resuming in this sphere, including at Worcester in July. However, has a rather all or nothing profile and was well held at Uttoxeter last month. Arrives on the back of a low note, having suffered a heavy defeat last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) (15/8 +6%) Only Money |
15/8(+6%) | (1) Only Money 15/8, Bumper/4-time winner over fences (at around 2m) and better for return in May when fourth of 6 at Warwick from 6 lb out of the handicap later that month. Not seen since but made a winning reappearance in this off 5 lb lower last season so bold bid is expected. Returned from a layoff to win this race (off 5lb lower) last year; respected back here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Post No Bills has been admirably consistent over the larger obstacles and though he's unlikely to be far away, preference is for ONLY MONEY to follow up his victory in this race 12 months ago. Chris Gordon's charge is only 2lb above his last winning mark, a contest in which he comprehensively defeated the reopposing Elios D'Or, and a drop in class ought to aid his chances. Sea Prince could be involved if putting his best foot forward.
ONLY MONEY made a winning reappearance in this 12 months ago so gets the vote off a tempting mark having took a step back in the right direction when last seen in May. Reliable front runner Post No Bills is a solid alternative.
Back from another layoff, ONLY MONEY (nap) could well follow up last year's win. Post No Bills is second choice.

1st (2) (1/3 +18%) Easy Peasy |
1/3(+18%) | (2) Easy Peasy 1/3, Picked up by top connections having made an impressive winning start in Ireland and firmly expected to maintain her unbeaten record in a thin race. Won at Killarney two months ago for Harry Kelly; leading contender even with 7lb penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (12/1 +33%) No Touching |
12/1(+33%) | (3) No Touching 12/1, £5,500 3-y-o, Sans Frontieres gelding. Dam unraced sister to useful hurdle winner/smart chaser (stayed 3m) Assemble. £5,500 3yo; dam is related two bumper winners; interesting newcomer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (12/1 +14%) Highway One O Four |
12/1(+14%) | (1) Highway One O Four 12/1, Brother to fair hurdler Hiway One O Three but failed to beat a rival at Uttoxeter 10 months ago. Would need to attract support to make him of any interest. Absent since an inauspicious debut at Uttoxeter ten months ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (5/1 -50%) Private Walker |
5/1(-50%) | (4) Private Walker 5/1, Half-brother to a bumper winner and offered encouragement when third at Stratford first time out. More to come and looks the main danger to Easy Peasy. Shaped with promise at Stratford in July; open to progress; possibilities. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
EASY PEASY picked up well to make a winning debut at Killarney in July and now makes his first start for the powerful Nicky Henderson yard. The strength of that form is open to debate, but the Walk In The Park filly is bred to be useful and natural progression could see her repeat the dose. Private Walker, who finished a creditable third at Stratford first time out, appeals as the main danger. Debutant No Touching can chase the pair home ahead of Highway One O Four.
EASY PEASY made the ideal start when landing an 11-runner event at Killarney a couple of months ago and, having joined Nicky Henderson since, she's an obvious selection in her bid to make it two from two. Private Walker made a solid start at Stratford despite pulling hard, so he's the obvious threat.
In terms of form, EASY PEASY has the best claims on her debut for Nicky Henderson. Private Walker is second choice.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
