1st (3) (2.25/1 +0%) I Love My Baie |
2.25/1(+0%) | (3) I Love My Baie 2.25/1, Made a winning start in decisive fashion in a course bumper in June 2022. Not in same form at Haydock 11 months later but probably needed the run and is bred to excel over hurdles. Won a bumper here before struggling under a penalty; open to improvement now hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (3.5/1 +0%) Happywifehappylife |
3.5/1(+0%) | (7) Happywifehappylife 3.5/1, Runner-up twice on the Flat last autumn and recorded her best effort over hurdles when second in a 17f Sedgefield novice in November. Filled same spot in a first-time tongue strap at Catterick in January and ought to be on the premises again if ready to roll after a break. 0-9 Flat/hurdles but has threatened; chased home the right horse last time.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (3/1 +20%) Beauty To Behold |
3/1(+20%) | (6) Beauty To Behold 3/1, Winning Irish pointer who ran well when runner-up on her handicap debut here (16.2f) 49 days ago. Back up in trip and fitted with a first-time tongue strap. Also had breathing op. Second in a handicap here but will need more back in a maiden; has had wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (2/1 +0%) Nottodaybobo |
2/1(+0%) | (4) Nottodaybobo 2/1, Fair bumper performer who shaped as if better for the run sent hurdling after 9 months off when sixth of 17 in maiden at Punchestown (16.2f, good) 26 days ago. Up in trip. Should progress. Placed in bumpers and latest hurdle run was respectable; may have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (80/1 +20%) This Is Bob |
80/1(+20%) | (5) This Is Bob 80/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules who was possibly flattered in a steadily-run race when fifth of 10 in maiden hurdle (200/1) at Hexham (20.1f, good) 11 days ago. Readily passed over. Hard to warm to on what he's shown so far. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
BEAUTY TO BEHOLD proved competitive when runner-up on her handicap debut here in May and appeals as the one to beat after wind surgery with a first-time tongue-tie. She has been steadily progressive and is fancied to get the better of hurdling debutant I Love My Baie, who can get involved now faced with a stiffer test. Happywifehappylife completes the shortlist on her return from a break.
NOTTODAYBOBO can improve on his opening effort in this sphere given his bumper ability and representing a yard with a tremendous record here, he could be the answer. Course-bumper-winner I Love My Baie, who is a brother to high-class French hurdler Hermes Baie, may emerge as the main threat.
Course bumper winner I LOVE MY BAIE could improve past some of these now that his attention is turned to hurdling.

1st (3) (1.88/1 +6%) Baby Jane |
1.88/1(+6%) | (3) Baby Jane 1.88/1, Strong travelling sort who is better than ever at present, winning back-to-back novice events at Uttoxeter with a bit up her sleeve. Can complete the hat-trick. Back-to-back Uttoxeter wins, last time pulling clear with one who was in form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (3.5/1 -17%) Hungry Hill |
3.5/1(-17%) | (1) Hungry Hill 3.5/1, Confirmed previous promise upped markedly in trip when runner-up on Ffos Las handicap debut (23.9f) in March. Proved a disappointment in first-time cheekpieces there 9 weeks later but it's still early days and he may bounce back. Definite chance on his good-ground second; struggled on soft last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (18/1 +55%) Ebendi |
18/1(+55%) | (5) Ebendi 18/1, Fairly useful Flat performer for Joseph O'Brien who showed a bit of promise when seventh of 11 in a novice hurdle at Carlisle (17f) in February. Has shown very little since, though, including in handicaps. Offered little in six hurdle starts for his current yard, including three handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (4.5/1 +10%) Ultra Violet |
4.5/1(+10%) | (6) Ultra Violet 4.5/1, Fairly useful on Flat in France. Not managed to get near that level over hurdles, although has been performing consistently well lately despite his limitations. Consistent hurdler and not far away in C&D handicaps on his last three starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (4.5/1 -29%) Sea Prince |
4.5/1(-29%) | (2) Sea Prince 4.5/1, Quickly put a miserable display behind him up in trip when second of 11 in C&D handicap (good) 25 days ago. Sure to be thereabouts with a repeat. Still lightly raced and conceded only late on when making most over C&D last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (66/1 -65%) Solway Molly |
66/1(-65%) | (4) Solway Molly 66/1, Modest bumper winner who was in need of the experience on her first 2 starts over hurdles, but offered little when pulled up on Carlisle handicap debut in October. Off since. 150-1 when pulled up on her handicap debut in October when last seen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (14/1 -17%) Lusitanien |
14/1(-17%) | (7) Lusitanien 14/1, Maiden who was pulled up back from another 3 months off in handicap at this course (20.2f, good) 12 days ago, tailing off soon after 3 out. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. 2 lb out of the handicap. 0-14 and has been pulled up in both his runs (2m1f/2m4f) during the last 12 months. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (12/1 +25%) Blame Rose |
12/1(+25%) | (8) Blame Rose 12/1, Maiden who is limited but confirmed she's a stayer when fourth of 8 at Hexham (23.3f, good) 11 days ago, plugging on. 3 lb out of the handicap. Eight-race maiden who has been beaten 20l+ in two handicaps since tongue-tie was fitted. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BABY JANE continued her resurgence when recording a second successive victory at Uttoxeter and the eight-year-old may make light work of another 5lb rise in her current mood. Sea Prince offered much more encouragement when runner-up over C&D last month and is a likely threat after receiving only a 1lb increase in the ratings. It's too early to be writing beaten Ffos Las favourite Hungry Hill off and he warrants respect too.
BABY JANE is an improved model at the age of 8 and looks up to completing the hat-trick having scored with a bit more in hand than the winning margin implies on her most recent outing. Ultra Violet and Sea Prince head the opposition.
Sea Prince is solid after his recent second here and so too is BABY JANE, who beat an in-form rival last time.

1st (5) (1.88/1 +62%) Enemenemynemo |
1.88/1(+62%) | (5) Enemenemynemo 1.88/1, Placed in Irish point and has made the frame in three of his four runs over hurdles. Off 12 months before beating only one at Taunton on chase debut but shaped with a little more promise under an aggressive ride at Musselburgh in January. Off again since. Returns to a better trip after not getting home in two staying handicap chases. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (3.33/1 +5%) Champ De Gane |
3.33/1(+5%) | (1) Champ De Gane 3.33/1, Runner-up on 3 of his 4 completed starts over fences and would have won at Ayr in March had he safely negotiated the final flight. Form has levelled off slightly but this is a drop in class. Latest effort was a bit underwhelming and best efforts have come over shorter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (3/1 -20%) Pearl Of The West |
3/1(-20%) | (2) Pearl Of The West 3/1, Formerly a useful hurdler and came to chasing late in the day but took pretty well to it when second of 14 at Wexford a fortnight ago. Capable of better switched to a handicap with cheekpieces back on. Well treated on hurdling best; recent chase debut was encouraging (second). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (3/1 +33%) Fruit Blossom |
3/1(+33%) | (3) Fruit Blossom 3/1, Cheekpieces worked the oracle when off the mark over hurdles at Wexford in May. Excellent fourth next time but she took a backward step at Downpatrick 18 days ago. Switched to fences by her top stable. Won a Wexford handicap hurdle in May; could easily be as good now switching to fences. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
There was a lot to like about PEARL OF THE WEST's second-placed effort in a beginners chase at Wexford recently and the John McConnell-trained nine-year-old could go one place better on this switch to a handicap. Mulberry Hill likely has more to offer in this sphere too and isn't taken lightly now reverting to the larger obstacles. Fruit Blossom is another to consider on her chasing debut.
MULBERRY HILL would probably have finished second with a clear round on chase debut in May and having shaped pretty well back over timber since, she's worth another chance returned to fences. Pearl of The West and Champ de Gane head the opposition.
It wouldn't be a surprise to see any of the five win. MULBERRY HILL had every chance when falling on her chase debut at Ludlow.

1st (2) (2/1 +11%) Zabeel Champion |
2/1(+11%) | (2) Zabeel Champion 2/1, Smart handicapper on Flat who also landed Haydock handicap hurdle in April. Shaped as if needing comeback when eighth at Chepstow and failed to stay 21f at Wetherby since. Return to a shorter trip in his favour. Interesting off a 3 lb lower mark. Lightly raced since defying a similar mark in a better race back in April 2022. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (3/1 +25%) Well Planted |
3/1(+25%) | (4) Well Planted 3/1, C&D winner but he came in last of 6 in handicap at Musselburgh (12.5f) on Flat 13 days ago. Sort to bounce back returned to this sphere. Third here before finishing last back on the Flat, though wasn't beaten too far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (3.5/1 +0%) Captain Zebo |
3.5/1(+0%) | (1) Captain Zebo 3.5/1, Ended a losing run in 2m Hexham handicap before good third of 7 there (20f, good) 19 days ago. He can go well again off the same mark. Exposed but in form and should run well back in a Class 4. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (6.5/1 +28%) Darkest Day |
6.5/1(+28%) | (6) Darkest Day 6.5/1, Scored at Wetherby in March but found his run of good form coming to an end when only ninth of 12 in handicap over C&D 25 days ago. Sort to get back on track. Below par last time but had been running well prior to that and couldn't be dismissed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (50/1 -178%) Wasdell Dundalk |
50/1(-178%) | (5) Wasdell Dundalk 50/1, Landed 2m handicap chase for Jonjo O'Neill at Ffos Las last June but well below par since, beating only one on his yard debut over C&D 12 days ago. Hard to warm to. Ex-Jonjo O'Neill; 100-1 when tailed off on recent stable debut here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (5.5/1 -57%) Glentruan |
5.5/1(-57%) | (3) Glentruan 5.5/1, Irresolute performer who fell 1st in handicap chase here 50 days ago. Reverts to hurdles in a first-time visor with others preferred. Fell early chasing latest; has the form to feature provided he takes to more new headgear. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
CAPTAIN ZEBO ran with credit in third when attempting to complete a Hexham brace in a class 3 handicap over 2m4f and he competes off the same rating here, with the return to 2m also in his favour. Well Planted had a go on the Flat on his latest outing, failing to beat a rival home at Musselburgh, but he is better judged on his previous third over C&D, while Zabeel Champion could also get involved.
A few with chances but ZABEEL CHAMPION should prove well suited by this return to 2m and can capitalise on a reduced mark at the chief expense of in-form veteran Captain Zebo. Darkest Day wasn't at his best over C&D last time but is the sort to bounce back so he cannot be discounted along with C&D winner Well Planted.
Jonjo O'Neill's ZABEEL CHAMPION (nap) should be very competitive at this level off his current mark and he has a good record when fresh.

1st (5) (6.5/1 +19%) Castletown |
6.5/1(+19%) | (5) Castletown 6.5/1, Chase winner at Kelso over a year ago and has reached the frame on all 10 subsequent starts. Likely to be thereabouts again for all he remains opposable for win purposes (no battler). Visored for the first time. Struggles to win but he's consistent and his third over C&D latest was in a higher grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (11/1 -57%) So Be It |
11/1(-57%) | (4) So Be It 11/1, Maiden pointer but fair form so far over hurdles and has been placed on two of his last 3 starts, so not a forlorn hope. Creditable second with this mark at Hexham last time but this looks a stronger race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (12/1 -85%) Call Of The Loon |
12/1(-85%) | (6) Call Of The Loon 12/1, Struck on debut for new yard at Stratford last August and has run well in defeat since, second of 5 at Plumpton 53 days ago. Should give another good account. Has run well in all three starts for this stable, the latest when second at Plumpton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (3.5/1 +22%) Spark Of Madness |
3.5/1(+22%) | (2) Spark Of Madness 3.5/1, Showed improved form when doubling his chase tally in 4-runner Newcastle handicap in November and back on track lately, runner-up at Hexham last time. Worth considering at a track where he's tasted success in the past. 2m/2m4f chase wins; 3m wasn't an issue when runner-up at Hexham. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (12/1 +40%) Sir Apollo |
12/1(+40%) | (7) Sir Apollo 12/1, Both wins in handicap chases at Sedgefield, the latest in first-time blinkers in February (26.9f). However, has struggled since joining this yard. He was well behind over C&D last month, finishing adrift of Castletown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (12/1 +33%) Fierami |
12/1(+33%) | (3) Fierami 12/1, Fair winner at 21f over hurdles but failed to match that level sent chasing last year and not a great deal of encouragement on first run since leaving Gordon Elliott at Market Rasen last time. Others preferred. After finishing second in a British point he was tailed off on his return to chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (6/1 +0%) Limerick Leader |
6/1(+0%) | (1) Limerick Leader 6/1, Fair hurdles winner who has improved further since switched to chasing. Second at Southwell last time and looks sure to be on the premises again. High in the weights and he's not a guaranteed stayer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (2.12/1 -6%) Prince Cleni |
2.12/1(-6%) | (8) Prince Cleni 2.12/1, Little form over hurdles but much improved over fences this summer and landed (tongue strap on for 1st time) 10-runner handicap chase at Southwell (24.3f, good) 24 days ago. Weighted to go close again despite a 6 lb rise. Ready Southwell winner who could still be well handicapped off 6lb higher. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SPARK OF MADNESS seemed to very much appreciate the step up to 3m for the first time at Hexham, staying on strongly to claim second, and that was in a slightly higher grade than this so he boasts leading claims of going one better with Brian Hughes in the plate. The main threat might be Prince Cleni, who struck by six lengths at Southwell and should be on the premises again, even after a 6lb rise. Call Of The Loon isn't discounted either.
PRINCE CLENI improved for a tongue strap when scoring at Southwell last month and, with few miles on the clock, he can do enough to defy a rise at the likely expense of Limerick Leader, who has taken well to chasing. Call of The Loon, a stablemate of the selection, is also worth considering.
The eyes are drawn to the lightly raced PRINCE CLENI on the back of his career-best win at Southwell.

1st (2) (0.67/1 +8%) Bobby Socks |
0.67/1(+8%) | (2) Bobby Socks 0.67/1, Posted career best when winning 9-runner handicap hurdle at Southwell (20.4f, good to firm) 10 days ago, kept up to work. Can race off same mark here and holds obvious claims. Has obvious claims after escaping a penalty for his recent win at Southwell. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (7.5/1 -7%) Malangen |
7.5/1(-7%) | (5) Malangen 7.5/1, Successful twice at this course last summer and very well handicapped on those efforts but has been below his best in 4 outings this year. Knows his way around here and likely to feature in his current form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (2.25/1 +25%) Haribo Collonges |
2.25/1(+25%) | (1) Haribo Collonges 2.25/1, Off the mark here in April and far from disgraced (off 7 lb higher) when third of 9 in handicap hurdle over C&D (good) 49 days ago. Had wind operation since and not taken lightly. First and third here on last two starts; had wind surgery since the latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (3) (16/1 -113%) Go Bob Go |
16/1(-113%) | (3) Go Bob Go 16/1, Belatedly off the mark over C&D in September and ran to a similar level when third of 8 in handicap at this course (23.9f, good) 17 days later. Not out of things. Record fresh is not the best but he was running well here last September when last seen. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
BOBBY SOCKS recorded a smooth success to go in by three lengths at Southwell on only his third start in handicap company and with the potential to improve further, he looks very much the one to beat. Haribo Collonges has had a wind operation since he was last seen, when third over C&D, and he could get into contention along with Go Bob Go, who returns to the fray and warrants a market check.
It's hard to get away from BOBBY SOCKS, who carries no penalty for his recent Southwell success. Haribo Collonges is feared most.
The 8yo MALANGEN could go around here with his eyes shut and career win number nine is a possibility.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
