LTO Selection:

14:12 Nottingham Maiden (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Our Golden One had the measure of Frankelian when the pair met on their debuts. The former was able to confirm those placings at Sandown last time and she can do so once again, but preference is for ELEFTHERIA. The Mehmas filly should appreciate this step up in trip having kept on for fourth over 7f at Goodwood in August, and she looks versatile regarding the ground. The Gosden's juveniles have been coming to the boil in recent weeks, so Beeley is worth a market check.

ROLICA boasts a striking pedigree and has a sales price to match, so a winning debut would come as no surprise. Beeley is another very likely sort on paper, while Our Golden One and Frankelian are closely matched on their Sandown clash.

Frankelian has been beaten twice by OUR GOLDEN ONE and may be again today but the issue is not clearcut.

LTO Selection:

14:42 Nottingham Maiden (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Ralph Beckett landed this prize with a debutant 12 months ago and he could do so once more with PONITOS. The son of Golden Horn ought to appreciate this initial test of stamina and, with a far from daunting standard set by those with experience, he might not need to be anything special to make a winning start. William Haggas' Victoria Legend could play a leading role, along with Risk On, who shaped with promise on his first start.

The market should reveal plenty here but SALAMANCA makes lots of appeal on paper and fetched 335,000 gns as a yearling so is taken to make a winning start for Jane Chapple-Hyam. Fellow newcomers Victoria Legend (second choice) and Poniros are both in very good hands and warrant plenty of respect too.

Risk On does not set a high standard, so newcomers SALAMANCA (a Grpup 1 entry), Poniros and Victoria Legend top the list.

LTO Selection:

15:12 Nottingham Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CONCIERGE was able to exploit a sliding handicap mark when successful at Bath in August. A 4lb higher mark wasn't enough to stop him from romping home at Brighton last time, and he is expected to complete his hat-trick despite a further 6lb rise. Ange De L'Amour shaped with promise on her return from a 340-day absence at Bath and she could step forward. Selby's Pride and Evasive Power are just two others to consider.

Lots with chances. CONCIERGE rates just the pick at these weights on the back of his impressive Brighton victory so edges the vote at the chief expense of Evasive Power, who also comes here fresh from a ready success at the same track. A solid case can also be made for Ray Vonn, Dors Toyboy and Primrose Maid in a competitive handicap.

Plenty have possibilities but the resurgent hat-trick seeker CONCIERGE gets the vote ahead of recent Brighton winner Evasive Power.

LTO Selection:

15:42 Nottingham Handicap (Class 3) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

SPOOF finished a close-up second in a competitive class 2 event at Haydock on Saturday and must hold every chance if producing a similar level of performance. Similar sentiments apply to Fantasy Master, but the five-year-old would make slightly more appeal over 6f. The Sepoy gelding still rates as a live threat, with Desert Games and Hiya Maite making most appeal of the remainder.

FANTASY MASTER tends to save his best for this track and, following a good second over 6f here, he's worth a chance to go one better. Spoof and Desert Games are also of plenty of interest.

Elegant Erin and SPOOF are dropping in class and may fight out the finish. Fantasy Master is also greatly respected.

LTO Selection:

16:12 Nottingham Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ALI JEWELS reaped the rewards under a more aggressive ride when recently making all at Yarmouth. William Jarvis' filly should take all of the beating if adopting similar tactics off only 4lb higher. Last-time-out winner Tilsworth Ony Ta cannot be discounted in his current mood, while Areille's mark continues to fall and the four-year-old has performed well enough in recent appearances to suggest that she can go well.

On just her second start over 5f, SMOOCH produced a career best when fourth in a deeper handicap than this at Pontefract last week and having been eased 3 lb since, she looks ready to open her account. Ali Jewels and Tilsworth Ony Ta are a couple of potential threats.

Smooch looks a solid contender after last week's good fourth but RHUBARB could bounce back to her best under today's conditions.

(7) Greek Giant 5/1, Latest win at Brighton in June. 10/3, good second of 6 in handicap at Chelmsford City (14f) 13 days ago. Should give another good account.
Beaten a head over 1m6f on AW; worth a go at 2m; major player if he goes on the ground.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GREEK GIANT appeared to be improving rapidly on the turf before having a short stint on the all-weather last month, and he may return to winning ways now upped to 2m. Club Manager arrives in good heart and is another potential improver on the rise in trip, although the son of Nathaniel will need to settle better. It's too early to be writing Medieval Gold off.

CLUB MANAGER is going the right way and seems likely to pull out more now upped to 2m, so he takes preference over the in-form Greek Giant. Buxlow Boy is another lightly-raced sort who should benefit from the longer trip, but he's shown the odd sign of temperament.

Most have possibilities. GREEK GIANT and Buxlow Boy may be the ones to benefit most from this slog.

(1) Dubai Souq 5/2, C&D winner. Ran creditably against a pair of 3-y-os when third of 7 in handicap at Newbury (10f, heavy, 4/1) 12 days ago. Has plenty of form on testing ground and is respected.
Best 2023 efforts came on soft; edging down weights but may be vulnerable to an improver.

(2) I Still Have Faith 9/4, C&D winner. 4 wins from 11 runs this year. Career best when winning 15-runner handicap (7/2) at Newmarket (9f, good) 11 days ago. Ground represents an unknown but he's clearly thriving and can't be discounted.
Going great guns but he has a lot more to prove on soft or heavy ground.

(4) Navarre Express 2/1, Much improved when winning 5-runner event on handicap debut (7/1) at Ffos Las (12f, good to soft) 20 days ago, staying on well. 6 lb rise may not be enough to stop her from following up.
Won well in a five-runner race at Ffos Las (1m4f, soft) on handicap debut latest; up 6lb.

The hat-trick seeking I Still Have Faith looks to have more in the locker and a further 5lb rise in the ratings shouldn't prevent another bold bid. Slight preference, however, is for NAVARRE EXPRESS, who was quite a taking winner when romping clear on her handicap debut at Ffos Las last month. The daughter of Roaring Lion could defy a 6lb hike, while Dubai Souq is worth a second look.

NAVARRE EXPRESS seemed particularly well suited by both the soft ground and increased test of stamina when making a successful switch to handicaps at Ffos Las last time and she looks capable of following up. Dubai Souq is proven on the going and ran well behind a pair of improvers last time, so gets the nod for second over the in-form I Still Have Faith, who would be a major player if coping with testing conditions.

The 3yos make plenty of appeal, with NAVARRE EXPRESS (nap) looking well equipped for a slog in the mud and bringing potential.
