3.5/1(+0%) | (3) Graffiti 3.5/1, 12/1, good second of 12 in handicap at Brighton (8f, good to firm) 15 days ago. That was a very promising return to action.

7.5/1(+0%) | (7) Josiebond 7.5/1, 11/1, ninth of 13 in handicap at Catterick (7f, good to firm) 13 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Cheekpieces back on and she's dangerous on her runner-up effort at Thirsk prior to that.

6.5/1(+19%) | (2) Kenilworth King 6.5/1, Last of 9 in handicap at Wetherby (8f, good to firm, 14/1) 22 days ago. First run for yard after leaving William Jarvis and he's back on his last winning mark if his new yard can get him back on track.

8th (6) (28/1 -40%) Heerathetrack |
28/1(-40%) | (6) Heerathetrack 28/1, Unreliable sort. 14/1, last of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 26 days ago, very slowly away. Cheekpieces back on but he looks one to be wary of. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
GRAFFITI was only beaten a neck into second on his seasonal return at Brighton two weeks ago and, with the benefit of that run, the four-year-old could go one better off just a 2lb higher mark. Girl Inthe Picture also hit the crossbar on her most recent outing and she edges out Hellavapace and Josiebond to be the pick of the remainder.
GIRL INTHE PICTURE was just about better than ever when runner-up to a course specialist at Yarmouth a fortnight ago and she holds sound claims of going one place better from the same mark. Josiebond has cheekpieces back on and is likely to get back on track, with Kenilworth King another to consider starting out for a new yard.
He doesn't help himself by tending to race a bit too freely but GRAFFITI ran well in defeat on his seasonal debut and is selected.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MISS SHOW OFF displayed plenty of encouragement when only denied by a neck on her racecourse debut at Sandown last month and Clive Cox's filly is hard to oppose on the back of that performance. That said, Tierney should appreciate this drop in grade having contested a Listed event last time and Mantra is another with valid form claims. Of the newcomers, Beautiful Diamond and Ziggy's Queen make the most appeal.
MANTRA caught the eye massively with her finishing effort when fourth in a Yarmouth maiden on debut 2 weeks ago, finishing strongly from off the pace after a very slow start, so gets the vote with plenty of improvement expected. Miss Show Off went close to making a winning start at Sandown so is respected, while Beautiful Diamond is a newcomer to note having fetched a tidy sum at the Breeze Ups.
The pick is MANTRA, who caught the eye making good late headway on her Yarmouth debut. Miss Show Off is feared most.

1st (3) (5.5/1 +15%) Dolly Gray |
5.5/1(+15%) | (3) Dolly Gray 5.5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Very good third of 8 in handicap (17/2) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 13 days ago, better placed than most. Further progress not ruled out back on turf. Unexposed filly who was placed on recent seasonal debut; drops back from 7f here. |

2nd (1) (4.5/1 -13%) Hello Me |
4.5/1(-13%) | (1) Hello Me 4.5/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2021. 13/2, seventh of 9 in handicap at Bath (5.7f, firm) 12 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Now below last winning mark. Has done most of her winning on AW and made low-key return to turf 12 days ago. |

3rd (2) (1.25/1 +9%) Isle Of Dreams |
1.25/1(+9%) | (2) Isle Of Dreams 1.25/1, Thriving sprinter who completed the 5-timer in determined fashion when beating 14-rivals at Thirsk (6f, heavy) 46 days ago. Handicapper applies a little more pressure but she's tough and versatile as regards ground so strong possibilities again. Has won her last five races and seems versatile regarding ground; might still be improving. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (5/1 +0%) Rainbow Mirage |
5/1(+0%) | (4) Rainbow Mirage 5/1, 66/1, creditable sixth of 11 in handicap at Windsor (6f, good to firm) 9 days ago, nearest at the finish. Becoming well treated. Yet to hit top gear after two runs this season but Windsor last week was quite encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (6/1 +40%) Pepsi Cat |
6/1(+40%) | (5) Pepsi Cat 6/1, Ripon nursery winner (6f) last summer who wasn't disgraced on 2 of last 3 starts switched to AW during the winter. Well below form at Southwell (6f) when last seen in February and market best guide back from 4 months off. Won a maiden handicap last summer but not seen since down-the-field AW run in February. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Isle Of Dreams merits the utmost respect on the back of five consecutive victories but a 4lb rise for the most recent of those wins will make life harder for her now up in grade. With that in mind, the unexposed DOLLY GRAY gets the vote following her third on seasonal debut at Wolverhampton recently. Rainbow Mirage is 1lb below her last winning mark and is another to consider.
ISLE OF DREAMS continued on her upward curve when completing an impressive 5-timer in determined fashion at Thirsk 46 days ago. The handicapper has applied a little more pressure but she may not have reached her limit and earns the vote to come out on top again. Hello Me is the danger.
Very progressive mare ISLE OF DREAMS has won her last five races and might have been found a good opportunity to add to her haul here.

4th (8) (100/1 -150%) Pocket The Packet |
100/1(-150%) | (8) Pocket The Packet 100/1, Five-time AW winner for George Boughey but well held on turf for new yard the last twice. Five-time AW winner form previous stable but down the field on both starts for new trainer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (20/1 -67%) Tiriac |
20/1(-67%) | (7) Tiriac 20/1, Lightly-raced winner. Seventh of 8 in handicap at Newmarket (7f, heavy, 28/1) 32 days ago. Bit to prove now. Ought to have been suited by soft ground when soundly beaten in two recent 7f handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (7/1 +30%) Heroism |
7/1(+30%) | (2) Heroism 7/1, Invincible Spirit colt who a winning start despite being easy to back at Salisbury. Last in the Mill Reef next time but remains with potential with sights lowered now handicapping on return. Not seen since finishing last in Group 2 in September but looked promising on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (7.5/1 +6%) Installation |
7.5/1(+6%) | (9) Installation 7.5/1, Lightly-raced winner. Good third of 12 in handicap (14/1) at Hamilton (6f, good) 24 days ago. Probably wants a stiffer test. Kept on well for third at Hamilton last month; needs to prove himself on fast ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (7.5/1 +25%) Boy Browning |
7.5/1(+25%) | (6) Boy Browning 7.5/1, Lightly-raced winner. Third of 5 in handicap (7/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 23 days ago, running on late. Close third over 7f on AW last month and may benefit from this drop back to 6f. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
It is likely INSTALLATION was in need of the run when he finished down the field at Newmarket on his seasonal debut and, given he showed a good deal of improvement dropped to this level at Hamilton last time, Richard Fahey's gelding is an attractive proposition on this occasion. That form has already been boosted and, from the foot of the weights, he appears to be a big player. Funny Story and recent Haydock winner Spirit Of Applause are forwarded as the pick of the opposition.
FUNNY STORY shaped well on her return at Newmarket and looks the type to win handicaps. She's taken to come out on top from Haydock-scorer Spirit of Applause and Doncaster-winner Secret Guest.
Two of these comes here after convincing wins. SECRET GUEST has fewer miles on the clock than Sprit Of Applause and gets the nod.

1st (4) (3/1 +14%) Bashful Boy |
3/1(+14%) | (4) Bashful Boy 3/1, Better than ever returned to the Flat when winning 9-runner handicap at Salisbury (14.2f, good to firm, 13/2) 11 days ago. Could still have more to offer on the level, so he's not taken lightly. Led close home at Salisbury 11 days and recent 3lb rise does not look excessive. |

2nd (8) (3/1 +54%) Alpine Stroll |
3/1(+54%) | (8) Alpine Stroll 3/1, Shaped better than distance beaten suggests when eighth of 11 in handicap (22/1) at Goodwood (2m, good to firm) 12 days ago. Successful twice here last season and he's now 1 lb below his last winning mark. Not at best lately but made all twice on fast ground here last season (1m6f/2m). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (28/1 -100%) Isle Of Sark |
28/1(-100%) | (3) Isle Of Sark 28/1, After 9 months off, looked rusty on first outing since leaving Joseph Patrick O'Brien when fifth of 9 in handicap at Kempton (12f, 66/1) 14 days ago. This run should reveal more. Made low-key stable debut last month and is yet to add to his 2yo debut win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (5/1 +9%) Single |
5/1(+9%) | (6) Single 5/1, Again ran well when fifth of 9 in handicap at Goodwood (12f, good to firm, 16/1) 11 days ago, despite being unsuited by way race developed. Can give her running as she goes back up in trip. Not at best last time but was very creditable fifth at Newmarket on seasonal debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (4.5/1 -100%) Splendent |
4.5/1(-100%) | (2) Splendent 4.5/1, Confirmed reappearance promise when winning at Windsor in May and improved further when third of 18 in handicap (12/1) at York (11.8f, good to firm) 21 days ago. Can score again with cheekpieces on 1st time. Backed up last month's Windsor win with creditable third of 18 at York; new trip today. |

6th (5) (10/1 +17%) Blistering Barney |
10/1(+17%) | (5) Blistering Barney 10/1, Failed to come on for recent run when eighth of 10 in handicap at Chester (12.3f, good, 25/1) 11 days ago. Won twice at this C&D last season, though, so could fare better back at this venue. Down the field on both starts this season but won twice over C&D last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (20/1 -82%) Mukha Magic |
20/1(-82%) | (7) Mukha Magic 20/1, C&D winner. Operating below best at present, fourth of 5 in handicap at Southwell (16.5f, 13/2) 30 days ago. Has dropped to 3 lb below his success at Lingfield in January, though, as he returns to turf. Not quite at best on AW this spring but was a dual course winner last summer (2m/1m6f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

8.5/1(-42%) | (1) Protected Guest 8.5/1, C&D winner. Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. Ran well when second of 8 in handicap at Kempton (12f, 18/1) 35 days ago, despite having been left poorly placed. Capable of getting involved. C&D winner in spring 2022 and returns here after good AW run last month; considered. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
SPLENDENT ran a blinder to be third in a decent handicap at York three weeks ago and he is a strong candidate off just 1lb higher today. The step up in trip is an interesting move, but given he was doing his best work at the finish on the Knavesmire, there is good reason to expect it will suit. The fitting of cheekpieces for the first time may also assist with improvement. Bashful Boy looks the chief danger, although Protected Guest is competitively weighted for his return to turf.
SPLENDENT has been going the right way this season, successful at Windsor in May before improving again when third at York 9 days later, so he can resume winning ways with cheekpieces now on. Heading the list of dangers is Bashful Boy, who looked better than ever back on the Flat on his latest outing, ahead of Protected Guest.
It might pay to give another chance to SINGLE, who wasn't at her best last time but ran very well in a good race at Newmarket in May.

1st (1) (4.5/1 -29%) Starnberg |
4.5/1(-29%) | (1) Starnberg 4.5/1, 1 win from 2 runs this year. 8/1, career best when winning 14-runner handicap at York (7f, good to firm) 11 days ago, drawing clear inside final 1f. Rider's claims off-sets fair chunk of his rise in weights and definite possibilities again. Off the mark with emphatic 7f win at York 11 days ago; today's trip also suits. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (4.5/1 +0%) Gulmarg |
4.5/1(+0%) | (2) Gulmarg 4.5/1, Good third of 11 in handicap at Newmarket (8f, good, 9/2) 18 days ago, challenging final 1f and running on. Consistency is hard to knock and expected to give another good account. Placed off today's mark in two 1m Newmarket handicaps this spring; this looks a bit easier. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (3/1 +0%) August |
3/1(+0%) | (6) August 3/1, Almanzor colt who ran his best race yet when fourth in 10-runner Newmarket novice (1m) on qualifying run 19 days ago. Highly likely he can do better again now handicapping from an appealing opening mark. One to consider. Fourth in good Newmarket novice last month and further progress is likely in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (18/1 +10%) Waiting All Night |
18/1(+10%) | (3) Waiting All Night 18/1, Respectable eighth of 14 in handicap (33/1) at York (7f, good to firm) 21 days ago, unable to sustain effort having been keen/challenging away from main action. That was his first start for 7 months and likely to be sharper now. Useful early-season 2yo last year but has become rather disappointing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (3.5/1 +13%) Umberto |
3.5/1(+13%) | (5) Umberto 3.5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Creditable fourth of 14 in handicap (10/3) at Sandown (8f, good) 13 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time and further progress rates distinctly possible on back of just 4 starts. Placed in all three qualifying races before creditable fourth in recent Sandown handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (7.5/1 -88%) Abu Royal |
7.5/1(-88%) | (4) Abu Royal 7.5/1, Dark Angel colt who has progressed with each start to date, off the mark at third attempt in an Ayr maiden (1m) 30 days ago, just needing to be kept up to work. Type to do better again now handicapping and he's worth a look for in-form yard. Pushed-out winner of Ayr maiden last month; should have improvement to come in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (9/1 +55%) Maid In London |
9/1(+55%) | (7) Maid In London 9/1, Matched debut form and proved strong at the finish back from 5 months off when landing 7-runner Wolverhampton novice (8.6f) in April. Likely best not judged too harshly on turf/handicap debut effort at Newmarket on account of poor draw and she's not one to write off. Flopped on last month's turf/handicap debut but can still progress from her AW novice win. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A comfortable winner over 7f at York last month, STARNBERG left the impression that he can secure a double stepping up in trip and Richard Hannon's inmate looks the one to beat. The fact Alec Voikhansky negates most of the gelding's 8lb rise for that success with his 5lb claim makes him of significant interest, but the consistent Gulmarg should not be taken lightly with his most recent run for third at Newmarket in mind. Abu Royal kept on well to score in maiden company at Ayr last month and completes the shortlist on his handicap bow.
An interesting 3-y-o handicap and it could be worth siding with AUGUST. His finishing effort never quite matched the way he travelled when fourth at Newmarket 3 weeks ago but there's no doubting he remains the type to do better and, from an appealing opening mark, he earns the vote. Impressive Ayr winner Abu Royal and Umberto head up the dangers, along with Starnberg.
There should still be more to come from AUGUST, who makes his handicap debut after coming fourth in a good Newmarket novice.

16/1(-33%) | (3) She's A Novelty 16/1, Creditable second of 8 in novice hurdle at Newton Abbot (16.8f, good, evens). Off 20 months. Creditable on last Flat run. Warrants a market check after such a long time off the track. Given a chance by the handicapper but tricky to weigh up on first Flat start since 2019. |

5/1(+29%) | (4) Mujid 5/1, 14/1, thirteenth of 18 in handicap at Newbury (12f, good) 19 days ago, not ideally placed. Not completely discounted. Has looked out of sorts in recent months and needs to turn a corner. |

4th (5) (2.5/1 +9%) Trojan Truth |
2.5/1(+9%) | (5) Trojan Truth 2.5/1, 10/1, didn't need to improve to win 14-runner handicap at Windsor (10f, good to firm) 16 days ago, just holding on. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Should go well again. Nudged up only 2lb for recent Windsor win and might be aided by new cheekpieces here. |

5th (6) (2/1 -6%) The New Marwan |
2/1(-6%) | (6) The New Marwan 2/1, Good ½-length second of 8 to Bearwith in handicap at Redcar (10f, good, 11/4) 9 days ago, keeping on gamely. Expected to be bang there. Back on track with close second at Redcar last week and remains on a good mark. |

6th (8) (6.5/1 -18%) Alhabor |
6.5/1(-18%) | (8) Alhabor 6.5/1, Blinkered for 1st time, length fourth of 8 to Bearwith in handicap at Redcar (10f, good, 25/1) 9 days ago, finishing with running left. Potentially well treated and worthy of respect. Close fourth behind The New Marwan when fitted with cheekpieces at Redcar recently. |

7th (7) (7.5/1 +12%) Codswallop |
7.5/1(+12%) | (7) Codswallop 7.5/1, C&D winner. Last of 5 in handicap (7/1) at this course (8.3f, heavy) 26 days ago. Back up in trip. Others have achieved more lately. Largely disappointing since last year's C&D win but might have needed last month's run. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Preference is for THE NEW MARWAN. The Dark Angel gelding is officially 1lb well-in competing off the same mark as when half-a-length second at Redcar last time. Trojan Truth and the unexposed My Chiquita complete the shortlist. The former is feared most on the basis that he is up just the 2lb for scoring over this trip at Windsor and is now tried in first-time cheekpieces.
THE NEW MARWAN shaped well at Redcar last week and can resume winning ways. Recent Windsor scorer Trojan Truth and Alhabor are feared.
This can go to THE NEW MARWAN (nap) who returned to form at Redcar last week. Alhabor is next best.
Ths is the racecard key.
