17:15 Newmarket Stakes (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

After making the frame at Ripon and Thirsk, Beronia sets the standard, but it isn't insurmountable and Nad Alshiba Rain might be best of those with previous experience after meeting with trouble at Nottingham. There are some interesting newcomers, though, not least the Godolphin pair of SCATTERING LIGHT and Valentia Island, with William Buick's presence on the former suggesting she is the stable number one. Kingman filly Mandurah is from a fine French family, with Miss Fascinator and Beautiful Things a couple more to consider.

The betting will be revealing but there is a good chance this will go to a newcomer, SCATTERING LIGHT, the choice of Buick over stablemate Valentia Island for Godolphin, getting the vote. Miss Fascinator and Mandurah also make plenty of appeal on paper.

Godolphin newcomers SCATTERING LIGHT and Valentia Island are particularly interesting. The betting should offer further guidance.

17:50 Newmarket Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Alec Voikhansky knows Pink Lily so well and they arrive after victories at Bath and Goodwood, but their hat-trick plans could be scuppered by ORCHARD KEEPER. Roger Varian's filly has found only one too strong on each of her last two appearances and now goes handicapping after a break and over a trip that should suit. Post Rider, another on a three-timer, has more to offer, but the assessor appears to have caught up with Aim For The Moon.

POST RIDER has left her AW form well behind on turf of late, showing the right attitude when making a winning handicap debut at Nottingham a fortnight ago. She can only improve for this trip so the hat-trick looks on the cards, for all Pink Lily is also competing for the match ball. Orchard Keeper is also of some interest.

There should be further progress to come from POST RIDER (nap). Her main threats are probably Pink Lily and Orchard Keeper.

18:25 Newmarket Stakes (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

RAINBOWS EDGE is related to several Group/Graded winners and could be up to that class herself, judging by her impressive defeat of an 82-rated filly on her Newcastle introduction. She has been given time to strengthen further and can successfully take the next step up the ladder, although Inherit won't make it easy for her after her close-up Yarmouth third. Inversion is bred to be better than she showed at Salisbury, while Beverley third Supreme Beauty changed hands for 130,000gns recently. Prevail and Morrophore, although apparent stable second strings, warrant attention on debut.

RAINBOWS EDGE looked a very smart prospect when scoring under a hands-and-heels ride at Newcastle in March and the King's filly can defy a penalty against some similarly exciting rivals. Inherit showed plenty to like in a hot race at Yarmouth, whilst newcomers Prevail and Morrophore also merit plenty of respect on paper.

An interesting novice event that features several well-bred fillies. INHERIT gets the narrow vote ahead of Rainbows Edge.

19:00 Newmarket Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LUNARIO has been maintaining his form in recent months, as evidenced by placed efforts at Goodwood, Bath and Nottingham. Alice Haynes' gelding looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to regain the winning thread and he edges the vote over Hitched. The son of Cotai Glory posted a respectable fourth on his reappearance at Brighton in May and any improvement is likely to see him fighting in the finish. Royal Tapestry can chase the duo home.

Stale switcher COME ON YOU SPURS remains lightly raced and is fancied to make a winning return from a 6-month absence with the step up in trip promising to suit the daughter of Zoffany. The consistent Lunario should pose a serious threat once again, with Hitched also highly respected with a recent run now under his belt.

The most solid contenders are HITCHED and Lunario.

19:35 Newmarket Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Market support for the stable/seasonal debutant Neverstopdreaming must be noted, particularly with the No Nay Never filly capping off last year's campaign with a victory at Carlisle. However, last month's Kempton third LOU LOU'S GIFT has the benefit of a run and that match-fitness could prove pivotal come the finish. Aquacell also arrives in good heart and Jane Chapple-Hyam's filly cannot be easily dismissed.

Successful on her final outing as a juvenile, LOU LOU'S GIFT returned to action with a solid third on handicap debut at Kempton 4 weeks ago and, very much the type to improve again for her leading yard, she's very much of interest back on turf. Bulldog Drummond, returned to 7f, is a threat following his encouraging stable debut effort here, with Aquacell another to consider.

Back down in grade, BULLDOG DRUMMOND looks an interesting alternative to the unexposed fillies Lou Lou's Gift and Aquacell.

20:10 Newmarket Handicap (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Rosy Affair scored on her second attempt in handicap company at Chepstow when always in control of proceedings. However, a 6lb rise requires another step forward against potentially stronger opposition. Ananda has the talent to be competitive but didn't appear to be straightforward when runner-up at Haydock. With that in mind, GUTSY GIRL may be the answer after running with a huge amount of credit when third under a penalty at Windsor. The daughter of Blue Point may well have won with a clear run and an opening mark of 85 could be generous from the handicapper.

ROSY AFFAIR made it 2 wins from 4 career starts to date despite still looking very much a work-in-progress at Chepstow 3 weeks ago and she shades the vote with the likelihood of more to come. Ananda and Gutsy Girl are similarly progressive fillies and also enter calculations.

An opening mark of 85 should be manageable for GUTSY GIRL. Ananda and Rosy Affair look the biggest threats.

20:45 Newmarket Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SIGNALMAN wasn't disgraced in finishing fourth on his handicap debut at Sandown when attempting to make all the running and, in a contest that doesn't appear to have much depth on paper, the son of New Approach may be able to take advantage, especially in first-time cheekpieces. Xiomara has shaped well on both efforts in handicap company and is expected to be in the mix, while Savanna King completes the shortlist.

XIOMARA was a lot better than the result at Salisbury last time. Her Nottingham second prior to that suggests she has a race in her from this sort of mark and she's preferred to fellow 3-y-o Signalman.

A few runners have shown clear promise since switched to handicap level. Slight preference is for XIOMARA, ahead of Signalman.
