1st (2) (15/2 -200%) Freds Mate |
15/2(-200%) | (2) Freds Mate 15/2, Once-raced colt. 7/1, fourth of 5 in minor event at Bath (10.2f, good to soft) on debut 12 days ago. Very green that day and should do better in time. Needs to improve plenty for his debut despite dropping to a trip over which his dam won. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (1/1 +50%) Cheshire Dancer |
1/1(+50%) | (1) Cheshire Dancer 1/1, Thrice-raced winner. Successful at Beverley in August. Second of 9 in minor event at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 9/4) 37 days ago. Another bold show anticipated. 7.5f turf winner; a repeat of her latest effort in this grade may be sufficient. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (2/1 +11%) Rich Harry |
2/1(+11%) | (7) Rich Harry 2/1, Thrice-raced colt. 4/1, second of 9 in minor event at Kempton (8f) 61 days ago. There's plenty of substance to his form and he has to be high on any shortlist. Has shown ability; should be more to come over this trip; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7/1 +0%) King's School |
7/1(+0%) | (3) King's School 7/1, Foaled April 10. 20,000 gns foal, 30,000 gns yearling, Lightning Spear colt. Dam, 1m winner, half-sister to smart winner up to 1m Fourhometwo. Yard in good form and he's one to note in the betting. First foal; dam 1m AW winner (RPR 76); trainer 10% with AW 2yos (five seasons). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (22/1 -57%) Paddy Mayne |
22/1(-57%) | (6) Paddy Mayne 22/1, Once-raced gelding. 25/1, fifth of 9 in maiden at this C&D on debut 24 days ago. That effort was not completely devoid of promise, but he'll need to raise his game a couple of notches if he's to take this. Needs to step up on his debut to get seriously involved but that is a possibility. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (28/1 -100%) White Coco |
28/1(-100%) | (8) White Coco 28/1, Once-raced filly. Ninth of 12 in maiden (33/1) at Kempton (8f) on debut 19 days ago. Likely to need more time and newcomer King's School is presumably the stable No 1. Should come on for debut experience but likely to need more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (100/1 -52%) Northgate |
100/1(-52%) | (5) Northgate 100/1, Foaled March 11. 7,000 gns foal, 15,000 gns yearling, Dutch Art colt. Half-brother to 1¼m winner Knockbrex and 5f winner Noticeable. Yard is not synonymous with winning newcomers and he's probably more of a long-term project. Half-brother to 1m2f winner Knockbrex; trainer without a 2yo winner for five seasons. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (150/1 +0%) Millbuie |
150/1(+0%) | (4) Millbuie 150/1, Once-raced gelding. 40/1, fifth of 6 in maiden at Musselburgh (7.2f, good to soft) on debut 44 days ago. Hard to warm to on the back of that low-key display. Well beaten on debut when he looked as if he'll need more time before winning. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Hugo Palmer may have found a suitable opportunity for CHESHIRE DANCER to win for a second time after she followed her Beverley success with a neck second at Wolverhampton. This looks a slightly easier contest on paper and she may get the better of Rich Harry, who was second over this trip at Kempton, but beaten over five lengths, suggesting he has a bit to do now to bother the selection. Northgate is of interest for owner and trainer Antony Brittain and he might go well despite his lack of experience.
This probably rests between RICH HARRY and Cheshire Dancer, with preference for the former who brings particularly solid form credentials to the table. Newcomer King's School makes some appeal on paper and he needs a close look in the betting.
7.5f winner CHESHIRE DANCER steps back up in trip and may be capable of pulling out more, so gets the vote.

25/1(+50%) | (3) Passionately 25/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, last of 7 in nursery at Ripon (8f, good, 14/1) 30 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Blinkers back on. Won a Wetherby maiden in June but she's been generally disappointing since; down the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (10/3 +33%) Swift Victory |
10/3(+33%) | (4) Swift Victory 10/3, Thrice-raced maiden. Eighth of 11 in minor event at Kempton (7f, 9/2) 68 days ago. More needed on his handicap debut. Mixed form in three runs so far and needs to resume his progress on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (3/1 +25%) Trafalgar Square |
3/1(+25%) | (1) Trafalgar Square 3/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 8/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, eighth of 11 in minor event at Kempton (7f) 14 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Has work to do. Well-bred colt who is still unexposed and looks a possible improver on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (3/1 +14%) Amayretto |
3/1(+14%) | (7) Amayretto 3/1, Winner at Redcar in September before posting a very good third of 9 in nursery at Nottingham (8.3f, heavy) 12 days ago, making effort earlier than ideal. Big shout. Won at Redcar last month before a creditable third at Nottingham; should go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (7/1 -133%) Run For The Sun |
7/1(-133%) | (2) Run For The Sun 7/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 9/2, fourth of 9 in maiden at Southwell (7.1f) 20 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Should progress. Showed promise in maidens and she's in the mix now switched to a nursery at this new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (6/1 -20%) Arizona Desert |
6/1(-20%) | (6) Arizona Desert 6/1, Lightly-raced winner. Career best when winning 13-runner nursery at Leicester (7f, good, 7/2) 20 days ago. Firmly in the mix despite a 4 lb rise. Off the mark with brave win at Leicester and she's open to more progress at this new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (9/1 -38%) Amasar |
9/1(-38%) | (5) Amasar 9/1, Fair maiden. Good second of 6 in minor event (6/4) at Chelmsford City (8f) 16 days ago. Much respected on his handicap debut. Front-running second on AW (1m) in last two starts and he's a key player on nursery debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ARIZONA DESERT has improved considerably since joining the Dominic French Davis stable and stepping up to a mile can eke out further improvement as she looks to follow up on a determined 7f success off 4lb lower at Leicester last time out. Runner-up on each of her last two starts, including over C&D earlier in the month, Amasar is a leading contender, along with Amayretto, who is looking to bounce back to the form that saw her win comfortably at Redcar on her penultimate outing.
AMAYRETTO arrives at the top of her game and wasn't seen to best effect when third at Nottingham last time so is fancied to quickly resume winning ways. Leicester-scorer Arizona Desert is next on the list ahead of handiap-debutantes Amasar and Run For The Sun.
The vote goes to ARIZONA DESERT who battled well when justifying support at Leicester and is open to more progress at this new trip.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/2 -5%) Curious Rover |
7/2(-5%) | (1) Curious Rover 7/2, 2 wins from 6 runs this year. Latest win at Haydock in September. 9/4, creditable second of 9 in nursery at York (5f, heavy) 17 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Enters calculations. Dual 5f winner; up 4lb for AW debut and will be a contender if acting on the surface. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (13/2 -136%) Blue Storm |
13/2(-136%) | (4) Blue Storm 13/2, Lightly-raced winner. Hooded for 1st time, respectable third of 8 in minor event at Bath (5f, heavy, 10/3) 12 days ago. Makes tapeta/handicap debut. No forlorn hope. Drops 3lb for this nursery/AW debut and wouldn't need much improvement to have a say. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (20/1 +29%) Callianassa |
20/1(+29%) | (6) Callianassa 20/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 6/1, seventh of 8 in nursery at Yarmouth (5.2f, good to soft). Off 95 days. Has work to do. Alarming dip in form when last seen in July; bit to prove after that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (12/1 -118%) Havana Rose |
12/1(-118%) | (7) Havana Rose 12/1, Lightly-raced winner. Winner at Carlisle in September. 17/2, excellent second of 11 in nursery at Pontefract (6f, good to soft) 21 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Has good chance on form. Improved on nursery debut; up 3lb for AW debut; stiff 5f could suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (11/2 +8%) Due For Luck |
11/2(+8%) | (2) Due For Luck 11/2, Lightly-raced winner. 2 wins from 4 runs this year. 5/4, 6¾ lengths last of 4 to Curious Rover in nursery at Haydock (5f, soft) 31 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Needs to bounce back. Dual winner who hung left when beaten favourite latest; player if you can forgive that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (2/1 +43%) Rare Jewel |
2/1(+43%) | (5) Rare Jewel 2/1, 1 win from 2 runs this year. Winner at Beverley in August. 19/1, 10 lengths last of 8 to Tiger Belle in Prix d'Arenberg at Longchamp (5f, good) 60 days ago. Makes handicap debut and not ruled out in these calmer waters. Well beaten in French Group 3 latest but enters nurseries on a fair mark; could go close. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
This can go the way of CURIOUS ROVER, who has been extremely consistent since beginning his career in August, and Katie Scott's charge can make it three win in his last five starts. A comfortable winner at Beverley on her penultimate outing, Rare Jewel is a key player, along with Due For Luck, who has almost seven lengths to find with the selection from their clash at Haydock last month but was progressive previous to that effort.
A case can be made for a few of these but HAVANA ROSE rates the pick of the weights on the back of her excellent Pontefract second so edges the vote from Rare Jewel who could have more to offer now going into handicaps for the first time. Curious Rover appeals as the best of the rest for place purposes.
Prior to his inexplicable latest effort DUE FOR LUCK was on the up and he is taken to get back on track.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (200/1 -100%) Madge Mcsplash |
200/1(-100%) | (12) Madge Mcsplash 200/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 33/1, ninth of 10 in handicap at Carlisle (6.9f, good to firm) 68 days ago. Makes limited appeal on tapeta debut. 1 lb out of the weights. Well beaten in all starts; readily opposed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A comfortable winner over track and trip in May, SPIRIT OF BOWLAND wasn't beaten far here last time out and he is taken to go in again off what remains a workable mark. He can uphold that form with Eleven Eleven (fourth), as well as seeing off the attentions of recent C&D winner Ice Shadow. Completing the shortlist are Girl From Italy, Pop Favorite and Zafaan.
SPIRIT OF BOWLAND completed a hat-trick on AW earlier this year and signalled a return to form when third over C&D last time. He can get back on the scoreboard. Ice Shadow and Pop Favorite should also go well.
The manner of ICE SHADOW's C&D success suggests that he can find what's necessary to successfully defy a 3lb rise and follow up.

11th (11) (66/1 -65%) Genevieve |
66/1(-65%) | (11) Genevieve 66/1, 7/1, below form sixth of 11 in handicap at this C&D 13 days ago. Uphill task. 15-race maiden who needs something extra if she's to get off the mark. |

12th (12) (200/1 -100%) Ank Marvin |
200/1(-100%) | (12) Ank Marvin 200/1, Thrice-raced maiden. First run for yard after leaving Brett Johnson. Makes handicap debut. Triple-figure odds and showed very little across his three starts for Brett Johnson. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Mumcat was victorious over C&D by a half-length earlier in the month and she should have her supporters, as she is only asked to compete off a 3lb higher mark. However, preference is for BASHOLO, who hasn't been beaten far in this grade on each of her last three starts and she could be ready to be rewarded for her consistency after her most recent third at Wolverhampton. Fighting Chance finished a close-up third over C&D last time and is another to consider.
BERNIE THE BEAR did too much too soon from a poor position here 3 weeks ago and remains in form so he could be the answer to this low-grade contest. Mumcat ended a long losing run in a similar C&D event last time and can go well again. The Gay Blade is another to consider.
The bang-in-form topweight MUMCAT (nap) can follow up her recent C&D win. The 3yo Bernie The Bear is feared most.

9/2(+68%) | (6) Golden Rainbow 9/2, C&D winner. 14/1, last of 14 in handicap at Redcar (5f, good) 41 days ago, poorly placed down the centre of the course. Underwhelming year but this well-treated C&D winner showed signs of spark two runs ago. |

11th (7) (25/1 -213%) Another Angel |
25/1(-213%) | (7) Another Angel 25/1, 8-time C&D winner. 3 wins from 17 runs this year. Latest win here in May. Off 4 months, seventh of 11 in handicap (20/1) at this C&D 24 days ago. Not taken lightly. Eight-time course winner who may have needed this month's return to action. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
BLAZING HOT made a highly-encouraging start to life in the care of Michael Herrington, as he was denied by just a short head at Pontefract and he has only been put up 1lb for that effort. The son of Hot Streak is a C&D winner and it would be no surprise to see him get his head back in front with Tom Eaves taking over in the plate. Lady Celia is the obvious danger after her victory over C&D last time and she should be thereabouts once more off a 4lb higher rating. Phoenix Star also has to be respected after his double over C&D last month.
LADY CELIA looked good value for her win here a fortnight ago and can follow up after a 4 lb rise. Blazing Hot and 8-time C&D winner Another Angel are among the dangers.
Three-time C&D winner BLAZING HOT was cruelly reeled in on last month's stable debut at Pontefract and is taken to go one better today.
Ths is the racecard key.

It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
