1st (2) (13/2 -95%) Valley Of Flowers |
13/2(-95%) | (2) Valley Of Flowers 13/2, 3 wins from 10 runs this year. 5/1, career best when readily winning 10-runner handicap at Catterick (12.1f, soft) 9 days ago. Big shout up in trip under a 5 lb penalty in her hat-trick bid. In top form but has something to prove over new trip back on AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (13/2 +0%) Doublethetrouble |
13/2(+0%) | (3) Doublethetrouble 13/2, Creditable second of 10 in handicap (4/1) at Kempton (16f) 16 days ago. Remains a maiden after 17 Flat runs. Still a maiden but is threatening to win an ordinary handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (8/1 -33%) Natacata |
8/1(-33%) | (8) Natacata 8/1, Creditable third of 10 in handicap at Beverley (9.9f, heavy, 12/1) 17 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Makes tapeta debut. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Not taken lightly. Combination of new trip and first-time headgear may spark progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (11/2 +45%) Heatherdown Hero |
11/2(+45%) | (5) Heatherdown Hero 11/2, One win from 21 Flat runs. 22/1, good fifth of 9 in handicap at Ayr (15f, soft) 10 days ago, slowly away. Claims. 0-6 for current yard but has possibilities off present mark with Hollie Doyle booked. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (28/1 -12%) Dance Havana |
28/1(-12%) | (7) Dance Havana 28/1, Latest win at Thirsk in July. 8/1, very good third of 8 in juvenile hurdle at Fontwell (17.7f, good) 50 days ago. Up in trip. Fair on the Flat, so needs considering. Both wins on turf; return to AW presents a question mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (13/2 +46%) Mascani |
13/2(+46%) | (9) Mascani 13/2, Winner at Beverley in July. 14/1, sixth of 9 in handicap at Catterick (12.1f, heavy) 20 days ago, not ideally placed. Significantly up in trip. Makes tapeta debut. Not ruled out. Has failed to build on 1m2f win; something to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (4/1 +60%) Dancing Cloud |
4/1(+60%) | (6) Dancing Cloud 4/1, 15/2, sixth of 9 in handicap at Ayr (15f, soft) 10 days ago. Something to find on form. Maiden; ties in with Heatherdown Hero on 1m7f running last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (4/1 -14%) Victoriano |
4/1(-14%) | (4) Victoriano 4/1, 3-time C&D winner. 3 wins from 8 runs this year. 10/3, won 7-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (16.6f) 42 days ago. Ought to be in the shake-up once more. Success in July took his C&D record to 31121; followed up at Wolverhampton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (16/1 -78%) Annandale |
16/1(-78%) | (1) Annandale 16/1, Course winner. Eighteen runs since last win in 2021. 6/1, 10¾ lengths eighth of 10 to Valley of Flowers in handicap at Ayr (13.1f, good to soft) 21 days ago. Up in trip. Chance on old form. Doesn't appear to be crying out for a return to 2m. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Valley Of Flowers arrives here seeking a hat-trick after wins at Ayr and Catterick, but she must defy a 5lb penalty for her most recent success which could leave her vulnerable to some better treated rivals such as VICTORIANO. Brian Ellison's charge also arrives here looking to continue his winning thread after wins here and at Wolverhampton, and he looks likely to be finishing strongly at the line. Doublethetrouble has been knocking on the door of late and can also go well.
VALLEY OF FLOWERS is enjoying a very good season and fancied to bag a fourth success turned out under a 5 lb penalty for her impressive recent Catterick success with this longer trip likely to prove well within her compass. Tapeta debutant Natacata is next on the list ahead of 3-time C&D winner Victoriano.
The suggestion is HEATHERDOWN HERO, who is favourably treated and may benefit from the new trip. Victoriano is second choice.

1st (2) (1.2/1 +36%) Cracksking |
1.2/1(+36%) | (2) Cracksking 1.2/1, Lightly-raced colt. 5/2, respectable second of 11 in maiden at Kempton (12f) 30 days ago, not ideally placed. That form is proving strong and he's a big player on tapeta debut. Has often threatened in his short career & latest Kempton 2nd can be upgraded; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (1.5/1 -20%) Indemnity |
1.5/1(-20%) | (5) Indemnity 1.5/1, Showed plenty of ability when second of 6 in minor event at Lingfield (10f, AW) on debut 17 days ago, running on. Will improve and rates a good prospect. Promising second at Lingfield (1m2f, AW) 17 days ago; more to come and he is a key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (4/1 -14%) Syllabus |
4/1(-14%) | (6) Syllabus 4/1, Matched previous efforts in first-time tongue strap and cheekpieces when second of 5 in minor event (10/11) at Ffos Las (12f, heavy) 42 days ago, clear of rest. More needed on tapeta debut. No progress since being gelded but he still brings sound form claims into the contest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (28/1 -27%) Kitty Foyle |
28/1(-27%) | (8) Kitty Foyle 28/1, Twice-raced filly. 9/1, went backwards from debut when eighth of 11 in minor event at Lingfield (12f, AW) 87 days ago. Promise in two 1m4f runs in July; should be winning races but perhaps not this one. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (150/1 -200%) Wadacre Maximus |
150/1(-200%) | (7) Wadacre Maximus 150/1, Looked badly in need of the experience when a well-beaten last of 5 in minor event at Carlisle (9f, good to firm, 12/1) on debut 36 days ago. Should do better somewhere down the line. Tailed off on last month's Carlisle debut (1m1f); bred to do much better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (100/1 -400%) Carrarea |
100/1(-400%) | (1) Carrarea 100/1, Dual hurdles winner who offered something to work on when seventh of 12 in a Tramore maiden on his Flat debut in August 2022. Entitled to do better. Has had a breathing operation since last seen. Useful hurdler but below par in that sphere the last twice; not easily recommended. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (200/1 -100%) Highland Loch |
200/1(-100%) | (3) Highland Loch 200/1, 50/1, shaped as if in need of the experience when last of 6 in minor event at this course (8f) on debut 11 days ago. Up in trip. 50-1, slowly away and never dangerous on his debut here 11 days ago (1m). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
INDEMNITY made a very pleasing start to his career when just touched off over 1m2f at Lingfield and he looks the one to beat. Any amount of improvement can be expected from Roger Varian's runner and this looks a good opportunity. Cracksking has been shaping as if a win could be just around the corner, while similar comments apply to Syllabus.
INDEMNITY and Cracksking look the pair to focus on. The latter finished ahead of 2 subsequent winners on his most recent outing at Kempton, but the former shaped with oodles of promise on his debut at Lingfield and edges the vote with improvement on the cards. Syllabus can prove best of the rest.
Indemnity shaped well on debut but CRACKSKING has shown more than enough to think a race like this could fall his way.

1st (3) (3/1 +33%) Spirit Of Ash |
3/1(+33%) | (3) Spirit Of Ash 3/1, Course winner in September. Creditable fifth of 12 in handicap at this course (1¼m, 4/1) 11 days ago, not ideally placed. Back up in trip. Thereabouts. In good form over 1m2f here of late and should be fine now back up in trip; strong claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (8/1 +0%) Trailblazer |
8/1(+0%) | (4) Trailblazer 8/1, Remains a maiden after 19 Flat runs. Fourth of 6 in handicap (11/2) at Musselburgh (2m, good to soft) 27 days ago. Back down in trip. Others more persuasive. 0-19 but good 3rd over C&D two starts ago and might not be far away now back down in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (11/2 +61%) Toscan Genius |
11/2(+61%) | (5) Toscan Genius 11/2, C&D winner in September. Down the field on turf at Catterick last time but he seems better on AW. Hasn't shone the last twice but 3l win over C&D prior to those; not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (10/3 +39%) Great Colaci |
10/3(+39%) | (2) Great Colaci 10/3, Eight-time course winner, the latest coming over this trip last month. Enters calculations again after just a 2 lb nudge. 10yo; eight-time course winner, the latest last month, and he has to be respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (12/1 +0%) Carouselle |
12/1(+0%) | (11) Carouselle 12/1, Looks one of top stable's lesser lights but she did show a bit more when fifth of 11 in handicap (12/1) at Wolverhampton (1½m) 6 days ago. Cheekpieces are reached for now. 0-7 but one of her better runs when fifth last Saturday and she's not discounted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (11/1 -22%) Milltown Lily |
11/1(-22%) | (9) Milltown Lily 11/1, Remains a maiden after 20 Flat runs. 7/1, good second of 7 in handicap at Carlisle (11f, good to firm) 51 days ago. 0-22 but she's run well more often than not this year; could give another good account. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (22/1 -10%) Acton Bell |
22/1(-10%) | (12) Acton Bell 22/1, Modest form at best at up to 1m at 2. Steps up markedly in trip on this rather belated reappearance. Watching brief the percentage call unless the betting vibes are notably strong. Didn't shown much last year and returns from absence, but check the betting now up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (40/1 +20%) Foshan |
40/1(+20%) | (7) Foshan 40/1, 100/1 and cheekpieces on first time, first run for 16 months/since leaving Harry Eustace when last of 14 in handicap at Thirsk (1½m, soft) 25 days ago. Plenty to prove. May have needed the run last month following long absence, but he was tailed off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (9/2 +10%) Twoforthegutter |
9/2(+10%) | (6) Twoforthegutter 9/2, 22/1 and blinkered first time, first run since leaving Ian Williams when creditable third of 11 in handicap at this C&D 17 days ago. Shortlist material. Third over C&D on recent stable debut and that could be strong form for the grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (28/1 -367%) Sugarpiehoneybunch |
28/1(-367%) | (1) Sugarpiehoneybunch 28/1, Won back-to-back 1½m handicaps on turf this spring. Off since a bit below form fourth of 8 in handicap at Beverley in April. Much depends on whether she's fully primed after her break. Absent since April but won two in a row earlier that month and is not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (40/1 +0%) Bateau Bay |
40/1(+0%) | (8) Bateau Bay 40/1, Well held in 3 handicaps for this yard last autumn and can only watch on rather belated return unless the betting strongly hints otherwise. Struggled in 1m4f Tapeta handicaps last autumn and has been absent since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Spirit Of Ash has been running consistently well of late and, despite finishing fifth over 1m2f at this venue last time, she was only beaten two and a half lengths. However, the nod goes to GREAT COLACI, who showed a likeable attitude when scoring in game fashion over C&D last time and a 2lb rise may not be enough to stop him following up, while Milltown Lily should also get involved.
TWOFORTHEGUTTER made a positive start for this stable when third over C&D last month and is taken to build on that and land a first success. Course specialist Great Colaci gets the nod for the forecast spot ahead of Tristan Davidson's Spirit of Ash.
The filly SPIRIT OF ASH has been running well over 1m2f here of late and shouldn't have a problem now back up in trip.

1st (1) (2/1 +60%) Greatgadian |
2/1(+60%) | (1) Greatgadian 2/1, Useful handicapper at best but seems to be going the wrong way, faring no better for the return to all-weather at Chelmsford 59 days ago. Off the boil in recent starts but this is a drop in class & he has the ability to feature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/1 +0%) Pastiche |
5/1(+0%) | (4) Pastiche 5/1, Latest win at Newmarket in June. Tongue strap on for 1st time, creditable fifth of 11 in handicap at Newmarket (7f, good to firm, 10/1) 6 days ago, running on. Two 7f wins to her name, including Tapeta; looks ready for another crack at 1m; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (40/1 -33%) Showmedemoney |
40/1(-33%) | (9) Showmedemoney 40/1, Scored for the third time this season at Carlisle in September but wasn't in the same form over C&D 2 weeks ago. Bounce back required. Conditions no problem but he was well beaten in a weaker C&D handicap two weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (6/1 +8%) Fools Rush In |
6/1(+8%) | (7) Fools Rush In 6/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. Creditable fourth of 9 in handicap at Ayr (8f, good, 9/1) 20 days ago, never nearer. Cheekpieces back on. Not dismissed. On a dangerous mark and last two runs have been encouraging; headgear returns today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (7/1 +42%) Starshiba |
7/1(+42%) | (5) Starshiba 7/1, C&D winner in July but found little off the bridle when only sixth in 11-runner event over C&D last week. Conditions to suit; bit better than the result over C&D last week; others better treated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (10/3 -33%) Pillar Of Hope |
10/3(-33%) | (3) Pillar Of Hope 10/3, C&D winner who proved better than ever when landing 11-runner handicap (9/2) at Redcar (10f, good to firm) 16 days ago, well positioned. Respected up 5 lb. C&D winner; easy win (1m2f) on turf latest; not sure to be in the same form back on AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (33/1 -500%) Diamondonthehill |
33/1(-500%) | (2) Diamondonthehill 33/1, Latest win at Yarmouth in June. Creditable fourth of 10 in handicap (5/1) at Haydock (7f, good to firm) 35 days ago. Needs to pull out a bit more from his current mark. String of good runs in higher grade since a Yarmouth win in June; had excuse in one AW run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (9/1 -29%) Million Thanks |
9/1(-29%) | (8) Million Thanks 9/1, Fairly useful handicapper who found only another improver too good at Yarmouth in June. Below form the last twice but sets out for a new yard on a good mark. Poor strike-rate; starts out for new yard off a good mark but no accessories worn today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
FOOLS RUSH IN may be winless since last July, but recent efforts at Ayr and Southwell, where he was keeping on well at the finish, have suggested that the five-year-old is returning to form as the handicapper begins to loosen his grip. Jim Goldie's charge gets the vote ahead of Redcar winner Pillar Of Hope and Diamondonthehill, who has been in consistent form of late.
There's a good chance a change of scenery will have perked up MILLION THANKS, so he's the suggestion from an appealing looking mark. Last-time-out winner Pillar of Hope and Fools Rush In head the dangers.
Diamondonthehill can go well but PASTICHE still has untapped potential on both the AW and over 1m.

2nd (2) (8/15 +56%) Markakol |
8/15(+56%) | (2) Markakol 8/15, Settled better in a first-time hood and duly left debut form well behind when scoring over C&D in July. Highly tried since and ran his best race when sixth in 10-runner listed event at York (5f) last time. Obvious player back down in grade. Hood refitted. C&D winner in July; highly tried and come up short since; this should be easier. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (40/1 +0%) Silky Robin |
40/1(+0%) | (5) Silky Robin 40/1, Foaled April 18. €22,000 foal, Exceed And Excel gelding. Dam, winner up to 7f (2-y-o 6f winner), half-sister to useful 2-y-o 5f winner Burwaaz (by Exceed And Excel) out of useful 2-y-o 6f winner Nidhaal. 22,000euros foal; dam a 6f/7f winner; first 2yo runner of the year for the yard. |

4th (8) (8/1 +27%) Gloves |
8/1(+27%) | (8) Gloves 8/1, Last of 8 in minor event at Beverley (5f, heavy, 9/2) on debut 23 days ago, racing too keenly. Hooded for 1st time. Should do better. Far too keen to see out 5f on heavy ground on debut; hood added today; more to come. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (22/1 +45%) Renovate |
22/1(+45%) | (4) Renovate 22/1, Twice-raced maiden. 50/1, showed more than on debut when eighth of 13 in maiden at Pontefract (6f, good to soft) 15 days ago. Down the field in two 6f runs at Pontefract last month; one for the longer term. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (10/1 -18%) Glory Hyde |
10/1(-18%) | (7) Glory Hyde 10/1, More or less backed up his York run when fourth of 8 in maiden (7/1) at Ayr (6f, soft) 10 days ago. Makes tapeta debut and ought to be competitive again. Better efforts the last twice (5f on slow turf) but even that form needs bettering today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (40/1 -60%) Brummell |
40/1(-60%) | (3) Brummell 40/1, Couldn't even match debut form when tenth of 11 in minor event at this course (6f, 25/1) 35 days ago. Modest form in two 6f runs; handicaps beckon after this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (80/1 -60%) Strike Rate |
80/1(-60%) | (6) Strike Rate 80/1, Foaled March 29. 1,200 gns 2-y-o, Dandy Man gelding. Dam 2-y-o 7f winner. Sold unraced out of Archie Watson's stable for 1,200gns last month; best watched on debut. |

150/1(-50%) | (9) My Dancing Queen 150/1, Foaled April 14. Massaat filly. Half-sister to 6f winner Little Red Dancer. Dam unreliable winner up to 7f (2-y-o 5f winner). Bred to have a future but she would be a surprise winner on debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
This represents a significant drop in grade for MARKAKOL given he's run in Pattern company on his last three starts, and the son of Starspangledbanner can take full advantage. The selection's only win came over C&D in July and he can see off Garfield Shadow, who made an excellent impression when scoring on debut at Hamilton. Glory Hyde has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of her penultimate effort.
MARKAKOL is a speedy sort who should appreciate these calmer waters, so he's taken to make it 2 from 2 over C&D. Garfield Shadow overcame inexperience to make a winning debut at Hamilton and should be all the wiser for that, while Glory Hyde warrants respect, too.
Markakol and GARFIELD SHADOW have penalties to deal with but still make most appeal. The selection looked promising on debut.

1st (1) (7/4 +22%) Salvuccio |
7/4(+22%) | (1) Salvuccio 7/4, Lightly-raced winner. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, career best when winning 9-runner nursery (4/1) at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 6 days ago, well on top finish. Can make presence felt back in novice company. Easy winner on last week's nursery debut; unexposed in cheekpieces; big player. |

2nd (2) (11/10 +45%) Townsend Manor |
11/10(+45%) | (2) Townsend Manor 11/10, Fairly useful gelding. Winner at Redcar (5f) in September. Good third of 10 in nursery (15/2) at Lingfield (5f, AW) 17 days ago. Expected to feature making tapeta debut. Improved for the drop to 5f the last twice; looks set for another prominent showing. |

3rd (4) (11/2 +21%) Invincible Speed |
11/2(+21%) | (4) Invincible Speed 11/2, Once-raced maiden. Fifth of 10 in minor event at Bath (5f, good to firm, 9/2) on debut 51 days ago, noted travelling better than most. Should improve. Shaped nicely at Bath on debut (behind Salvuccio); more to come and he's of some interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (11/1 -69%) The Liegeman |
11/1(-69%) | (5) The Liegeman 11/1, Twice-raced maiden. Sixth of 11 in minor event at this course (6f, 12/1) 35 days ago, weakening late on. Pedigree an ongoing recommendation and he's entitled to be sharper given that was his first start for 4 months. Some promise in two novice events but improvement required to score here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (12/1 -33%) High Violet |
12/1(-33%) | (8) High Violet 12/1, Twice-raced maiden. Fourth of 7 in minor event at Carlisle (5.8f, soft, 9/4) 30 days ago. Handicaps over further may well be more her bag in due course. Debut was promising; not quite so good at Carlisle latest; should cope with the drop to 5f. |

6th (3) (150/1 -200%) Compra Borracho |
150/1(-200%) | (3) Compra Borracho 150/1, Once-raced maiden. 28/1 and hooded, last of 8 in maiden at Wolverhampton (5.1f) on debut 70 days ago, running green and never on terms. Gelded since and this should reveal more. Looked a hard ride when a remote last of eight on debut; gelded since; hard to recommend. |

7th (6) (100/1 -400%) Alibi Warning |
100/1(-400%) | (6) Alibi Warning 100/1, Once-raced maiden. 11/1, seventh of 11 in minor event at this course (6f) on debut 24 days ago, leading until halfway and weakening final 1f. Passed over here. Too keen over 6f here on debut last month; can do better but such progress is necessary. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
TOWNSEND MANOR had Salvuccio (fourth) comfortably behind when an easy winner at Redcar on his penultimate start, and he can uphold that form on his return to novice company. The Brian Ellison stable can do little wrong at present and Callianassa is a leading contender based on the pick of her form, while High Violet is another open to improvement on just her third career outing.
An impressive winner at Redcar on his penultimate start, TOWNSEND MANOR again ran well when third on nursery debut at Lingfield (5f) 17 days ago and he earns the vote to come out on top. Impressive Wolverhampton scorer Salvuccio rates the chief threat, with The Liegeman and Invincible Speed a couple of likely improvers also from good yards.
His strong finish at Wolverhampton on Saturday suggests SALVUCCIO is more than capable of holding his own back in novice company.

11/5(+34%) | (7) Tropical Air 11/5, Much improved switched to AW, completing quick-fire hat-trick without being fully extended in a C&D nursery 11 days ago. Creditable fourth without being seen to best effect at Lingfield (7f) since and he looks sure to play a lead role again under a penalty. Pulled hard last week when tucked in behind horses; earlier AW form gives him major claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (9/2 +25%) Indication Call |
9/2(+25%) | (8) Indication Call 9/2, Blinkered for 1st time, respectable third of 10 in nursery (18/1) at Nottingham (6.1f, heavy) 17 days ago. Makes tapeta debut and each-way possibilities from career-low mark. Consistent in nurseries without managing to win one; switch to AW needs to spark extra. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (2) (40/1 -100%) Petra Celera |
40/1(-100%) | (2) Petra Celera 40/1, Winner at Catterick (6f) in July. 6/1, seventh of 10 in nursery at Carlisle (5.8f, soft) 30 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Catterick win (6f) has been franked but struggled in nurseries the last twice; AW debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
COOL RUN was outpaced at a crucial point on her nursery debut before keeping on to finish third at Catterick, and the extra furlong, combined with first-time cheekpieces, may eke out enough improvement for her to achieve a first victory. Tropical Air was unable to make it four on the bounce at Lingfield last week, but the drop back to 6f makes him a key player. Others to note are Kandy House and Without Flaw.
TROPICAL AIR has proved an all-round improved model for the switch to AW, winning 3 of his last 4 starts prior to a creditable fourth at Lingfield 8 days ago. Returned to the scene of his last success, he looks sure to go well again. Assembly Call rates a likely improver now handicapping and along with Kandy House heads the dangers. Cool Run also promises to do better at some stage.
Cool Run and Tropical Air are high on the list but ASSEMBLY CALL appeals as a big improver now making his nursery debut.

22/1(-175%) | (7) Autumn Flight 22/1, 4/1, good third of 13 in handicap at Pontefract (5f, good to soft) 15 days ago. Enters calculations off same mark. Well backed when a front-running third at Pontefract (5f) two weeks ago; first visit here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
HE'S AN ANGEL produced his best effort so far when third here over 5f last Friday and the extra furlong on this occasion looks likely to suit as he bids to get his head in front for the first time. Mumcat has gone close on her latest outings at this track and the four-year-old is expected to be in the thick of things once again. Gowanbuster and Autumn Flight complete the shortlist.
The vote goes to HE'S AN ANGEL, who ran his best race yet when a close third over 5f here last week and is unexposed compared to most of his rivals. Gowanbuster and Mumcat head the dangers.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (9/4 +44%) Elzaal |
9/4(+44%) | (7) Elzaal 9/4, Five-time C&D winner, with latest victory here in March. Quickly left behind a lesser effort when second of 11 in handicap back at this C&D (7/2) a week ago, conceding first run. Not taken lightly. AW mark has dropped in line with turf rating & he narrowly failed to capitalise last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/1 +42%) Crypto Quest |
7/1(+42%) | (4) Crypto Quest 7/1, Made a winning reappearance at Doncaster in June. 11/1, failed to build on promise of previous run when fifth of 12 in handicap at this course (6f) 17 days ago, racing freely. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (2/1 +0%) Woobay |
2/1(+0%) | (1) Woobay 2/1, Off the mark in convincing fashion when making all in 9-runner handicap at Catterick (5f, soft, 3/1) 9 days ago, keeping on well. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (9/1 -50%) Aconcagua Mountain |
9/1(-50%) | (3) Aconcagua Mountain 9/1, Gained first win of the season at Ayr in September. After just 3 days off, bumped start when fourth of 6 in handicap at Hamilton (5f, good to soft, 4/6) 19 days ago. No surprise to see him bounce back. 2 Tapeta wins in 2022; better than ever at Ayr last month but disappointed 3 days later. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (14/1 -17%) Nautical Dream |
14/1(-17%) | (8) Nautical Dream 14/1, Not seen to best effect at Beverley on handicap debut, but never on terms when sixth of 8 in similar event at Yarmouth (5.2f, good to soft, 10/1) 24 days ago. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (33/1 -200%) Premier Option |
33/1(-200%) | (2) Premier Option 33/1, Remains a maiden after 9 runs. Not in the same form as previous outing when twelfth of 13 in handicap at York (5.4f, good, 50/1) 77 days ago. Makes tapeta debut. Below par at York last time but in Class 4; pick of his efforts bring him into the picture. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Woobay attempts to follow up under a 5lb penalty after winning at Catterick last Wednesday. She was 1lb well-in on that occasion, though, and is likely to find life a lot tougher. With that in mind, the vote goes to ACONCAGUA MOUNTAIN, who scored at Ayr on his penultimate start and may have found a quick turnaround too much when fourth at Hamilton. Dapper Man and Elzaal are feared most of the remainder.
WOOBAY opened her account in good style when making all at Catterick 9 days ago and she can score again now that she's up and running. The main danger could be five-time C&D winner Elzaal, who wasted no time getting back to form when runner-up here a week ago, while Lady Celia can also give her running once more.
Ths is the racecard key.
