16:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Force Of Honour scored in more comfortable fashion than the length distance suggested over 1m at Redcar eight days ago. A repeat of that effort would see him go close, but a 6lb penalty may leave him susceptible to some better treated rivals. Therefore, a chance is taken on MOONLIT STAGE, who was only beaten a half-length over the extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton last month, and raised just 1lb, he can benefit for this slight step up in trip. Gretna Dreams is also worthy of consideration.

FORCE OF HONOUR has shown improved form upped to 1m on his last 2 starts, opening his account at Redcar 8 days ago, and a penalty might not be enough to prevent him from scoring again. Moonlit Stage was suited by the longer distance when runner-up at Wolverhampton last time and isn't taken lightly, with Gretna Dreams also considered.

The extra yardage could be a firm plus for MOONLIT STAGE on his second nursery start and he earns the vote ahead of Gretna Dreams.

16:30 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having not quite lasted the trip when caught late over 1m3f at Kempton last month, this represents a good opportunity for ROYAL DREAM to go one better. Ed Dunlop's charge scored over this distance off 2lb lower in May and he looks likely to take the beating. The evergreen Highwaygrey is feared most after finishing third at Redcar last time, while Alpen Power is capable of bouncing back from his latest performance.

ROYAL DREAM looks the most solid option on the back of a good effort at Kempton recently. Highwaygrey is a former C&D winner who arrives in from and is feared most ahead of Natzor, who had an excuse last time and is well capable at this class 5 level.

The return to Newcastle may be a sizeable plus for NATZOR and he's the selection ahead of the in-form Highwaygrey.

17:05 Newcastle Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

THUNDERING was unlucky in-running when beaten just more than a length over C&D in July and, with a clear passage on this occasion, he looks the one to beat. Kevin Ryan's charge has survived a hike in the ratings for that effort which can be exploited. The most significant questions to the selection are likely to be posed by Saratoga Gold, who is likely to be running on well at the line after a good second over 1m4f at Pontefract last month, while Appier is also noted.

Sole 3-y-o MACHETE BEACH stands out as an unexposed sort in this line-up and can take his career record to 3-4. The reliable Appier is taken to follow him home ahead of Thundering.

An open race can go to MACHETE BEACH, who has done little wrong and is open to plenty of improvement. Big Team is next best.

17:40 Newcastle Maiden (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The Gosden team may not be in the rudest of form at present, but this appeals as an ideal opportunity for BYBLOS, who was an eye-catcher on debut when keeping on late in the piece over 7f at Kempton. Stepping up to a mile should suit, as a half-brother to a Classic winner in Siskin, and he is narrowly preferred to Tornado Alert, who ran a highly encouraging race first time out at Lingfield last month when not beaten far in third. A well-bred son of Kingman, who has a pedigree that points to being better over further, Reign Of Honour should be monitored for market support.

BYBLOS is well bred and made a pleasing start under considerate handling at Kempton a month ago, so he's worth a chance to improve enough to open his account at the possible expense of Godolphin pair Tornado Alert and Reign of Honour.

The well-bred Kingman colt REIGN OF HONOUR is taken to make a winning debut for Charlie Appleby. Tornado Alert is feared most.

18:10 Newcastle Handicap (Class 4) 6f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A determined winner here over 5f on his penultimate outing and a respectable fourth over this distance at Redcar last month, the versatile BRIGHT sets the standard on form and he is taken to notch up a fifth career success. Narrowly denied in his attempt to land the double at Southwell, Blazing Son can give him the most to think about, along with As If By Chance, who was unlucky over C&D last time out when not getting a clear run and eventually running on in third.

BLAZING SON has an excellent record on tapeta and put up another bold display when just denied at Southwell last month, so he's fancied to get back to winning ways at the possible expense of the in-form Bright. As If By Chance should also be able to get involved if things drop right.

Newcastle has brought out the very best in ANIMATE in the past and he can come out on top on his first visit here in 2024.

18:40 Newcastle Handicap (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

This can go the way of veteran EQUIANO SPRINGS, who is turned out again quickly, having been given too much to do from the rear when running on late at Newmarket recently. Tom Tate's charge remains 1lb lower than his last success and is taken to get his head back in front. Dickieburd would have strong claims if bouncing back to the form of his penultimate second at York. C&D winner Catherine Chroi is another to consider, as well as Beattie Is Back and Rayat.

DICKIEBURD's last win came here and he ran well in a competitive handicap at York on his penultimate outing, so he gets the marginal vote in an open-looking race. Veteran Equiano Springs looks a threat on the back of a strong finish at Newmarket and Catherine Chroi is likely to add another solid effort to an excellent season.

Competitive fare but the veteran EQUIANO SPRINGS retains plenty of enthusiasm and he could be the answer.

19:10 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Having been outpaced over 6f in her latest defeats, the extra furlong could see HIGH VIOLET back in the winner's enclosure. The three-year-old found herself with too much to do when fifth at Yarmouth last month and she should travel more sweetly going a step slower in this contest. Course winner Project Geofin is likely to relish a return to this surface and is feared most, ahead of in-form rival Profit Street.

An open-looking handicap with the vote going to PROFIT STREET given his form figures at Newcastle read 121. The return to the AW should also suit Mereside Madness and Project Geofin so they head the opposition.

Mereside Madness and PROFIT STREET (nap) have four wins and two seconds from their six runs here and can fight this out.

19:40 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

TAYGAR's recent close-up fourth at Redcar can be upgraded after stumbling over a furlong from home. A 1lb drop could prove on the lenient side for Michael Dods' filly and she's fancied to make a winning all-weather debut. Dc Flyer has been in decent heart since his C&D triumph in early August and another good account is forecast on the back of a wind procedure. Let's Go Hugo and Leodis Dream are also worth a second look.

LET'S GO HUGO finished with running left in him at Redcar last time and is worth a chance to confirm the promise of that effort. August's C&D scorer Dc Flyer has had his wind tweaked since finishing fourth here 3 weeks ago and will be a big threat if that procedure has had a positive effect. Taygar completes the shortlist.

Having been in predominantly good form on turf since winning over C&D in April, LET'S GO HUGO can make a winning return to the AW.

20:10 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Having pulled hard on his placed efforts at Ripon (1m2f) and Catterick (1m4f) on his most recent outings, DUE CONSIDERATION is likely to appreciate this return to a mile. Adrian Nicholls' three-year-old looks more than capable of scoring off an unchanged mark and he edges the vote over Triple Force. The Land Force gelding arrives on the back of a solid second at Southwell and another prominent role is expected. Etretat and Love Warrior are unlikely to be far away, either.

TRIPLE FORCE finished miles clear of the remainder when chasing home a blot on the handicap at Southwell 7 days ago and, racing off a 1 lb lower mark, he looks to hold excellent claims of going one place better here. Walson's Law is an interesting handicap debutant for the George Boughey stable and confidence behind him would need to be taken seriously. Love Warrior and Etretat are others worth a second look.

Preference is for TRIPLE FORCE, who was a clear second behind a major improver at Southwell last week and is 3lb well in here.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
