(6) Tryfan 17/2, Fair third on 1¼m AW debut last autumn. Not seen to best effect on Beverley reappearance and ran to just a similar level when second in 12f minor event at Thirsk last time, hanging badly right entering straight. 14:00 Newcastle Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

GULF LEGEND has improved with each start to date and opening mark of 80 may underestimate the son of Dubawi based on his second in novice company at Haydock earlier in the month. Extra Beat got off the mark on his handicap bow at the same venue and may improve further in first-time cheekpieces. The rest all need to progress to win but Swordstick is the pick of them.

EXTRA BEAT was well suited by the stamina test when scoring at Haydock last month and, with the still longer trip here likely to suit, he's fancied to follow up. Gulf Legend was a bit disappointing last time but can play a serious part if returning to his Newbury form on his handicap debut, while Swordstick is another to consider with 1½m sure to be in his favour.

A tight handicap. SWORDSTICK stuck to his guns when third at Chester and he looks ready for this step up in trip.

14:30 Newcastle Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BRASTIAS was not disgraced when sixth on his debut over 7f at Haydock on Saturday and he could be hard to beat with the benefit of that experience. Kissing Strangers (fifth) and Testimonial (fourth) were only separated by a short head on their respective debuts at Leicester and have to be of interest, while any market support for What's She At would have to be noted.

Not a strong-looking maiden and it would be no surprise to see WHAT'S SHE AT make a successful start for Archie Watson. Brastias will surely benefit from further but can build on Saturday's Haydock introduction and take a hand. Mayor of Maghera is another newcomer to note and the betting should be revealing.

It was a Class 2 maiden last weekend at Haydock in which BRASTIAS shaped with significant promise during a troubled run.

15:00 Newcastle Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

WEDADI showed plenty of promise when fifth in a competitive event over 7f at Leicester on her debut 12 days ago and that performances suggests that she is the one to beat here. However, Heartened outran odds of 100/1 to fill third place on her racecourse bow at Pontefract and Ollie Pears' filly should not be discounted. In A Hurry and Louie The Legend are the pick of the newcomers.

This can go to a newcomer, with LOUIE THE LEGEND, In A Hurry and Kings Square preferred in that order on paper before market clues.

Those with experience don't set the bar too high but HEARTENED looks sure to improve on her mild debut promise now upped to 7f.

15:35 Newcastle Stakes (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

VEYDARI's 200,000gns price tag at the Craven Breeze-Ups didn't go unnoticed because he was sent off a warm favourite for his Haydock introduction. Although he had to settle for sixth, the experience won't be lost on him and the form of that race appears decent. Commander Atkinson offered encouragement at Nottingham, while Atomic Mass's York debut was better than his second performance on the Knavesmire. Bowen Island cost 80,000 euros as a yearling and is the pick of the newcomers.

VEYDARI failed to justify strong support on debut at Haydock 3 weeks ago but it was by no means an effort devoid of promise and he'll surely know more this time. He looks the way to go, for all Commander Atkinson caught the eye on debut, while Fred On Fire is perhaps the pick of the newcomers.

Richard Fahey's VEYDARI warrants another chance as there appeared to be plenty of confidence behind him at Haydock.

16:10 Newcastle Handicap (Class 2) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Sean D Bowen has been advertising his talents in the saddle and is an interesting booking for ELNAJMM. William Haggas' well-related four-year-old hasn't been seen since breaking through at Lingfield last August, but his three seconds prior to that came at the hands of smart performers. Lattam won this for Haggas 12 months ago and started off for his new stable with a cracking second in the Lincoln, when a position ahead of Navagio, before a satisfactory display in Newbury's Spring Cup. Brunch didn't get a lot of luck on his Nottingham comeback and has a good all-weather record. Gunlock should be happier back on Tapeta too.

William Haggas took this 12 months ago and is taken to repeat the feat with his low-mileage 4-y-o ELNAJMM returning on a good mark for his handicap debut with the prospect of more to come. C&D scorer Brunch rates a big threat on the back of his eye-catching Nottingham fourth, while last year's victor Lattam and in-form duo Farasi Lane and Navagio are also in the picture.

Elnajmm is of obvious interest but BRUNCH was unlucky in this last year and returns after a really likeable reappearance.

16:40 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Flying Panther justified favouritism with the minimum of fuss in a classified event at Wolverhampton last week, but he was beaten in handicaps prior to that so a penalty doesn't exactly make life easy. STOIC SYD has been sent off favourite on each of his last four appearances, winning the first two, and his latest third at Wolverhampton came after a break so he is fancied to take the necessary step forward. Tees George is edging back towards the winner's enclosure, and Masham Moor is worth a look as well.

Several to consider, with STOIC SYD marginally preferred having performed with credit following a three-month break upped to 9.5f at Wolverhampton. This drop back in trip will be in his favour and he's now 1 lb lower in the weights. Specialist View failed to make an impact on turf last time but is feared now returned to the AW, while Tees George is third choice ahead of Balqaa.

It was a classified race that FLYING PANTHER won last week and he carries a penalty, but that was pretty comfortable.

17:15 Newcastle Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

RAINYNITEINGEORGIA ended last season with a novice win on the Polytrack at Lingfield and has subsequently switched yards. Alice Haynes' charge caught the eye making late headway to finish third at Goodwood on her reappearance and handicap debut, and could go close with normal improvement. A better effort is expected from Brummell back over the minimum trip having won at Beverley last month, while Torvar returns to this venue for the first time since winning over C&D back in February.

RAINYNITEINGEORGIA made a respectable start for her new yard at Goodwood and, with the benefit of a recent run, she should have enough to capitalise on a drop in grade switched to tapeta. Stash The Cash arrives in good order and looks a danger, while Cast No Shadow is likely to make more impact back on tapeta.

Topweight RAINYNITEINGEORGIA (nap) was an encouraging third at Goodwood on last month's reappearance and she's the selection.

17:50 Newcastle Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

MULCIBER came up against the progressive Prince Eric when runner-up at Southwell in March. He's recorded both wins so far at this track and looks capable of making a bold bid for his new trainer. Bulmer Bank is another to consider dropping in class on the back of creditable placed efforts at York and Chester, while Berry Clever has been in the mix lately and can figure again. Redcar runner-up Titainium remains unexposed and should have more to offer.

There should be more to come from TITAINIUM, who upped his game significantly when second at Redcar last week and can race off the same mark here. Bulmer Bank and Berry Clever rate the principal dangers.

Class-dropper BULMER BANK ought to find this easier than the recent handicaps at York and Chester in which he finished third.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
