The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Heatherdown Hero and Isle of Wolves are better known for their exploits over further and, although they merit respect on this drop in trip to 1m2f, it may be worth taking the duo on with WESTERN BEAT. The five-year-old won over C&D on his penultimate start in January and he wasn't disgraced when finishing fourth at Chelmsford last month. The returning pair of Fifty Sent and Alhabor are others to consider in what looks a wide-open contest.
ISLE OF WOLVES fluffed his lines at Southwell last time but is worth another chance having looked ready to strike on his previous outing. Heatherdown Hero is a on a fair mark starting out for a new yard and is another to consider, with Trailblazer and Western Beat best of the others.
Much better off with Western Beat than when fourth behind her over C&D in January, TRAILBLAZER is fancied to turn the tables.

150/1(-88%) | (3) Roman Blaze 150/1, Once-raced maiden on Flat. 150/1 and hood on for 1st time in this code, first run since leaving John Wainwright when seventh of 8 in maiden at this course (8f) on flat debut 17 days ago. Up in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ELSHAAMEQ posted a much more encouraging display when runner-up over C&D in October and, open to further progress after only two starts, Kevin Frost's four-year-old may take some stopping here. Wadacre Gomez dead-heated for second at Kempton last month and, with fitness assured, he's feared most now stepped up in trip to 1m2f. Ironopolis ran his best race to date when staying on into third over this track and trip in September and it's very possible that the son of Gleneagles could find some improvement with first-time cheekpieces now applied.
DOUBLE OBAN was too green to do himself justice at Chelmsford on debut and he doesn't have to improve much to take this. Ironopolis rates the main threat on these terms, though Captain Potter is a newcomer to note.
Slight preference is for IRONOPOLIS, ahead of Wadacre Gomez. A few others also have clear possibilities in a fairly tight race.

1st (1) (4/1 -33%) Wadacre Grace |
4/1(-33%) | (1) Wadacre Grace 4/1, Course winner. Latest success at Lingfield in March. However, found things tougher under a penalty when fourth of 5 in handicap (10/3) at Southwell (8.1f) 18 days ago. More needed off her current mark.
2nd (3) (7/1 +13%) Strangerontheshore |
7/1(+13%) | (3) Strangerontheshore 7/1, Not discredited when fourth of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 15/2) when last seen in October. Won on return last year so she merits consideration.
3rd (6) (3.5/1 +56%) Biplane |
3.5/1(+56%) | (6) Biplane 3.5/1, Course winner. Below form when seventh of 9 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 7/2) 20 days ago. Blinkers now tried again, but others still preferred.
4th (5) (3/1 -50%) Victoria Falls |
3/1(-50%) | (5) Victoria Falls 3/1, In first-time visor, opened her account at Wolverhampton (8.6f) in March. Backed up that effort whith a good second of 10 in handicap (11/1) at the same C&D 16 days ago. Leading contender.
5th (4) (7/1 -17%) Engles Rock |
7/1(-17%) | (4) Engles Rock 7/1, C&D winner. Shaped well after 6 months off when fifth of 7 in handicap at this C&D (12/1) 10 days ago, ridden more prominently. Cheekpieces back on. Could fare better with her recent run behind her.
6th (2) (4.5/1 -13%) Karatayka |
4.5/1(-13%) | (2) Karatayka 4.5/1, After 7 months off, ran well on her all-weather debut when length third of 7 to Victoria Falls in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 17/2) 30 days ago. Could still have more to offer. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
VICTORIA FALLS has delivered some solid efforts at Wolverhampton of late, most recently finishing second at that venue last month, and a 1lb rise in the handicap is unlikely to prevent another bold bid. Wadacre Grace is capable on her day, although she remains 4lb higher than her triumph at Lingfield on her penultimate outing in early March and a bigger threat may emerge from Karatayka. The latter was last seen finishing only one length behind the selection at the West Midlands track and she now enjoys a 3lb pull with that rival.
VICTORIA FALLS has benefited from the application of a visor on her last 2 starts, getting off the mark at Wolverhampton before a good second at the same course, and she can score again in her current form. The 4-y-o can get the better of Strangerontheshore, who won on her return last year, while Karatayka could be able ot build on her reappearance effort.
In-form VICTORIA FALLS gets the verdict in the retained visor. Karatayka is feared most.

1st (5) (3/1 +33%) Eagle Prince |
3/1(+33%) | (5) Eagle Prince 3/1, Modest maiden at 2, ending his campaign with a respectable third of 5 in 1¼m nursery here. Has had wind surgery ahead of this reappearance. Also goes without the headgear he wore on his final 4 starts last year.
2nd (2) (5/1 +0%) Duke Of Wybourne |
5/1(+0%) | (2) Duke Of Wybourne 5/1, Fair form, although not at best when sixth of 12 in maiden at Southwell (1m) 25 days ago. Switches to handicap company for the first time now.
3rd (3) (5.5/1 -57%) Menalippe |
5.5/1(-57%) | (3) Menalippe 5.5/1, Improver last autumn, winning pair of 7f handicaps at Leicester. Ran poorly at Newmarket final start but no surrprise were she to bounce back to form on her reappearance for a stable among the winners.
4th (1) (1.2/1 +13%) Camusdarach |
1.2/1(+13%) | (1) Camusdarach 1.2/1, Took another step forward when second of 12 in maiden at Lingfield (1m) in November. Had wind surgery ahead of this handicap debut after 4 months off. Potential improver. Leading claims.
|PU| (4) (12/1 -33%) Inny Lad |
12/1(-33%) | (4) Inny Lad 12/1, Fair form. Ran creditably on form when fifth of 6 on 8.6f Wolverhampton debut in February but he looked a hard ride in first-time blinkers, hanging and carrying his head awkwardly. Cheekpieces the headgear of choice this time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
CAMUSDARACH has improved with every start to date and his narrow defeat at Lingfield last time suggests that he can make a winning debut in handicap company off a mark of 72 here. Menalippe failed to fire when last seen at Newmarket in October but she is a player based on her previous form, while Eagle Prince is also noted on his return to action.
CAMUSDARACH improved with each start as a juvenile and if that trend continues he could take a bit of stopping on this handicap debut/reappearance. Menalippe, a dual winner on turf last autumn, is feared most with the James Ferguson team going well.
Lingfield runner-up CAMUSDARACH looks poised to go one better. Eagle Prince is feared most.

2.25/1(+44%) | (5) Ron O 2.25/1, Course winner. Three wins from 9 runs last year. Latest win here in January. 9/2, eighth of 12 in handicap at this C&D 10 days ago, not clear run after travelling well. Remains of interest.
2nd (4) (7.5/1 -67%) How Impressive |
7.5/1(-67%) | (4) How Impressive 7.5/1, Lightly-raced winner. C&D winner. Cceditable sixth of 14 on handicap debut at Chelmsford City (7f, 9/1). Off 123 days. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Looked fairly summed up by mark last time and will need to step forward.
3rd (2) (9/1 -20%) Toussarok |
9/1(-20%) | (2) Toussarok 9/1, Course winner. Promising second on penultiamte outing but ran poorly when last of 13 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 10/1) 9 days ago. Remains on handy mark.
4th (7) (6/1 +8%) Anif |
6/1(+8%) | (7) Anif 6/1, 5-time course winner. Latest win here in March. 15/2, creditable fifth of 11 in handicap at this C&D 3 days ago. Should give another good account.
5th (8) (5.5/1 -38%) As If By Chance |
5.5/1(-38%) | (8) As If By Chance 5.5/1, Went close from this sort of mark at Redcar last summer and shaped encouragingly when creditable third of 12 in handicap at this C&D 10 days ago, nearest finish after meeting some trouble. Leading player.
6th (3) (7/1 -27%) Pockley |
7/1(-27%) | (3) Pockley 7/1, 5-time course winner. Latest win here in March. 5/1, respectable fifth of 9 in handicap at this course (5f) 17 days ago, faring best of those held up. Boasts fine record here but significantly longer trip is a question mark.
7th (1) (5/1 +23%) Mighty Power |
5/1(+23%) | (1) Mighty Power 5/1, Sprung 20/1 surprise over 6f here in January before producing a career-best to land similar event last month. Shaped as if still in form when sixth of 12 in handicap at this C&D 10 days ago, nearest finish after meeting trouble. Respected.
8th (6) (22/1 -10%) Abnaa |
22/1(-10%) | (6) Abnaa 22/1, 3-time C&D winner. Latest win here in February. Below par on his last 2 outings though and others arrive here in better form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
AS IF BY CHANCE put in an encouraging effort when third on his seasonal debut last month and he could be hard to beat with the benefit of that outing under his belt. How Impressive is an unexposed four-year-old who should be capable of making his mark at this level and may improve in first-time cheekpieces. Others to consider are Pockley and Mighty Power.
AS IF BY CHANCE was unlucky not to finish even closer when third over C&D 10 days ago and a similar level of performance might be enough to see him land this. Ron O has had a generally positive AW campaign and he's worth treating as if still in form after meetirng trouble last time, with Anif also well in the mix to add to his good course record.
There were traffic issues for a few of these runners in a similar event over C&D ten days ago. AS IF BY CHANCE fared best of them.

1st (1) (1.5/1 -9%) Beelzebub |
1.5/1(-9%) | (1) Beelzebub 1.5/1, Promising sort. One win from 3 runs last year. 13/8, won 7-runner minor event at Chelmsford City (6f), keeping on well. Off 116 days. Makes handicap debut. Expected to be bang there with further progress likely.
2nd (8) (7/1 +30%) Northern Spirit |
7/1(+30%) | (8) Northern Spirit 7/1, C&D winner here in January. 11/2, creditable third of 9 in handicap at this C&D 31 days ago. Bit more likely needed to defy this mark but he's frame claims are solid.
3rd (9) (22/1 +0%) Rockin Rosa |
22/1(+0%) | (9) Rockin Rosa 22/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Seventh of 15 in minor event (125/1) at Redcar (6f, good to soft). Off 171 days. Makes handicap debut. Plenty to find on form.
4th (3) (7.5/1 +46%) Honour Your Dreams |
7.5/1(+46%) | (3) Honour Your Dreams 7.5/1, Creditable fifth of 10 in nursery (40/1) at Ayr (6f, good). Off 6 months. Makes tapeta debut. Looks bit more exposed than most in this event and others make more appeal.
5th (7) (5.5/1 +35%) Katar |
5.5/1(+35%) | (7) Katar 5.5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 11/8, creditable third of 12 in maiden at Southwell (6.1f) 67 days ago. Visor on 1st time. Can make presence felt.
6th (4) (40/1 -150%) Family Ties |

7th (5) (66/1 -200%) Parr Fire |
66/1(-200%) | (5) Parr Fire 66/1, Won at Doncaster on debut but finished well held on last 2 outings last season. Off 178 days. Makes tapeta debut. Needs to prove she has trained on.
8th (6) (11/1 -57%) Lupset Flossy Pop |
11/1(-57%) | (6) Lupset Flossy Pop 11/1, C&D winner here in October. Good third of 8 in nursery at this course (5f, 11/5). Progressive nicely when last seen and merits respect on return from 164 days off.
9th (2) (3.5/1 +0%) Saracen Head |
3.5/1(+0%) | (2) Saracen Head 3.5/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 9/4, third of 6 in minor event at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 35 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Needs to resume progress to defy opening mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BEELZEBUB progressed with each start as a juvenile and got off the mark at Chelmsford on his third attempt in December. James Ferguson's gelding begins life in handicap company off what appears to be a workable mark of 75 and is likely to take another step forward on this occasion. Saracen Head's best run to date came over C&D and he commands plenty of respect, while Lupset Flossy Pop and Katar are others worth considering.
BEELZEBUB was a decisive winner at Chelmsford when last seen and appeals as the type to go on improving, so is fancied to making a winning handicap debut. Lupset Flossy Pop ended last season in fine form and it's possible that she could resume her progress here, with Katar also respected back in a handicap.
Off a workable mark back at the scene of his best novice effort SARACEN HEAD (nap) holds strong claims. Beelzebub is second choice.

3.33/1(+33%) | (9) Kraken Power 3.33/1, Scored twice in 2 days at this course (both at 5f) in January. Has made the frame here on his last 4 starts, fourth of 11 in handicap 3 days ago. Can give another good account back up to 6f.
4th (5) (10/1 +17%) Redzone |
10/1(+17%) | (5) Redzone 10/1, 3-time C&D winner. However, well below form on his final 2 starts last year, last of 12 in handicap at this C&D in November. Others more persuasive.
5th (8) (9/1 -50%) Athollblair Boy |
9/1(-50%) | (8) Athollblair Boy 9/1, Recorded his seventh C&D victory when winning 11-runner handicap at this C&D 10 days ago. Not dismissed lightly at this venue.
6th (4) (40/1 -100%) Run This Way |
40/1(-100%) | (4) Run This Way 40/1, After 5 months off, probably needed the run when last of 7 in handicap at this course (7.1f) 31 days ago. Capable of getting involved off her current mark if on a going day.
7th (3) (12/1 +0%) The Dunkirk Lads |
12/1(+0%) | (3) The Dunkirk Lads 12/1, After 5 months off, probably needed the run when eighth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f, 25/1) 39 days ago. Now 1 lb below his last winning mark as he drops back in grade.
8th (6) (22/1 -100%) J R Cavagin |
22/1(-100%) | (6) J R Cavagin 22/1, Having dropped in the weights, took advantage when winning 13-runner handicap at Doncaster (5.6f, good) in September. Remains on a workable mark if ready to go on his return.
9th (2) (4.5/1 +25%) Glorious Rio |
4.5/1(+25%) | (2) Glorious Rio 4.5/1, Course winner. Again ran creditably when fifth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 25/1) 16 days ago. Blinkers back on. Can give his running once more.
10th (1) (3.5/1 +0%) Murbih |
3.5/1(+0%) | (1) Murbih 3.5/1, Latest win at Wolverhampton in March. Turned out again quickly and ran at least as well when second of 11 in handicap at this course (5f, 7/2) 3 days ago. Major player running again under his penalty. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Murbih was just denied here under a penalty over 5f on Friday, with Kraken Power just behind when dead-heating for fourth in the same contest, and the pair are likely to enter the reckoning once again. The vote, though, goes to the hat-trick seeking RHYTHM, who scored twice in the space of six days in October, including over C&D, and the mare is open to further improvement on her return. Athollblair Boy and Glorious Rio shouldn't be discounted either.
MURBIH has bounced back to form on his last 2 starts, so he is taken to quickly resume winning ways having narrowly been denied when runner-up here 3 days ago. Kraken Power has been running consistently well at this course and is feared most, ahead of Rhythm who bids for a hat-trick on her return.
Glorious Rio is interesting but the vote goes to REDZONE, who's best caught fresh and is back on a winning mark.
Ths is the racecard key.

This is the 16:15 Kempton race from the video above backed at 28/1 earlier in the day.
Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
