|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (3) (250/1 -150%) Call Me The Breeze |
250/1(-150%) | (3) Call Me The Breeze 250/1, Twice-raced filly. Ninth of 10 in maiden at this course (7f, good to soft, 66/1) 33 days ago. Hooded for 1st time. Down the field on both starts (6f/7f, AW/soft), most recently when 66-1 here. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
This looks like an ideal opportunity for Irish raider SHE'S QUALITY, following a strong runner-up effort at the Curragh last time out. She can get off the mark at the fourth time of asking, with costly newcomer Romantic Style and promising Salisbury third Star Music looking best placed to chase her home. Assema and Looking For Queen can also have a say in proceedings.
SHE'S QUALITY sets a near-useful standard so should prove hard to beat in what looks a thin maiden for the track. Star Music made a promising debut when third at Salisbury so rates the main threat, though market support for Charlie Appleby's expensive newcomer Romantic Style would look significant.
Irish challenger SHE'S QUALITY has shown strong form at the Curragh on more than one occasion and is taken to get off the mark.

1st (8) (4.5/1 +55%) Art Historian |
4.5/1(+55%) | (8) Art Historian 4.5/1, Fitted with cheekpieces but looked short of pace over 6f when fifth at Newmarket a month ago. Return to 7f has to be in his favour. In top hands and perhaps he'll improve for having been gelded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (12/1 -50%) Mitwaa |
12/1(-50%) | (10) Mitwaa 12/1, Bred to be a useful sprinter but fairly low-key start, in a trio of 6f contests. Is in excellent hands and could easily get on the up now handicapping. Disappointing since encouraging debut here, but may get back on track in his first nursery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (33/1 -65%) She Wore No Jewels |
33/1(-65%) | (11) She Wore No Jewels 33/1, Attracted support and offered something to work on when third in a Goodwood maiden (6f, good to firm) on debut. Shaped as though amiss when well held at Doncaster but finished off her race with more purpose at Salisbury latest. Well beaten the last twice but she's a possible if tapping back into her debut promise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (40/1 -300%) Faster Bee |
40/1(-300%) | (4) Faster Bee 40/1, Looked to be learning in his qualifying runs but assessor certainly taken no chances with his opening mark. Not obviously well treated for nursery debut but he's one to watch in the market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (12/1 -140%) American Tale |
12/1(-140%) | (9) American Tale 12/1, Improved form off a break/gelding operation when making a winning nursery debut at Kempton (1m) a fortnight ago, always holding on. Possesses scope to go on improving. Won at Kempton (1m, AW) a fortnight ago on nursery debut & could still have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (2.5/1 +9%) Loaded Quiver |
2.5/1(+9%) | (3) Loaded Quiver 2.5/1, Displayed a very willing attitude when making third start a winning one at Brighton 3 weeks ago. Still not the finished article and opening mark could be lenient with cheekpieces added. Won Brighton maiden last time and could be the type to benefit from first-time cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (5.5/1 +54%) Overlooked |
5.5/1(+54%) | (2) Overlooked 5.5/1, Backward step when fifth of 11 in novice company at York a month ago. Mark demands more on balance of his form. Has shown promise (including here) but has to raise game to win off nursery debut mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (7.5/1 -15%) Knicks |
7.5/1(-15%) | (7) Knicks 7.5/1, More like it fitted with cheekpieces when second of 5 at Ayr last month (5.5f). Upped in trip for nursery debut and he's one to consider. Represents powerful 2yo trainer and interesting contender now up in trip on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (125/1 -400%) Land Of Magic |
125/1(-400%) | (12) Land Of Magic 125/1, Proved virtually unrideable on his Lingfield nursery debut but fitted with a hood, she got back on track in no uncertain terms when winning 4-runner nursery at Sandown. Weakened out of it in a 6f contest here 11 days ago and profile looks patchy. Won four-runner nursery at Sandown but fifth of five here subsequently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (25/1 -108%) Anonymous Guest |
25/1(-108%) | (6) Anonymous Guest 25/1, Continued thee of race-by-race progress at Yarmouth a fortnight ago. Switches to a nursery with yard among the winners. Could continue to progress now in nurseries and he's not discounted for in-form yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (9/1 -38%) This Time Maybe |
9/1(-38%) | (1) This Time Maybe 9/1, Half-brother to several winners, including smart 1m/9f winner in US Dicey Mo Chara and useful winner up to 8.3f Rodrigo de Torres. Travelled well under a positive ride when runner-up at Windsor 16 days ago. Did hang badly left on that occasion and now switches to a nursery. Runner-up at Windsor last time and he's respected on nursery debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (5) (10/1 +17%) Ihopeyoulike |
10/1(+17%) | (5) Ihopeyoulike 10/1, No better than fifth in 3 starts at up to 7f but nurseries a more suitable assignment with headgear reached for. Mid-division on first three starts; headgear and Buick booked on nursery debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
LOADED QUIVER deservedly got off the mark when just holding on at Brighton last time out and he sets the standard on the back of that effort. Conditions look to be in his favour once more and Archie Watson's charge is narrowly preferred to This Time Maybe, who ran a career best when second at Windsor over further. Kempton winner American Tale and Knicks can also go well.
LOADED QUIVER found extra for pressure when landing the odds at Brighton 3 weeks ago, and from a very workable opening mark, he's selected to follow up. American Tale also won last time and he possesses plenty of scope, with Mitwaa likely to do better now allotted a mark.
Brighton maiden winner LOADED QUIVER could be suited by the first-time cheekpieces on his nursery debut and he earns the vote.

1st (12) (33/1 -230%) King's Code |
33/1(-230%) | (12) King's Code 33/1, Did well to score having conceded first run in first-time cheekpieces at Bath (1m) in June and steady gallop didn't place to his strengths when midfield in 12-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) later that month. Changed yards/gelded since but drop in trip may not be ideal. Makes stable after ten weeks off having been gelded in the meantime; market useful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (16/1 -33%) Restrict |
16/1(-33%) | (4) Restrict 16/1, Campaigned exclusively on AW to date, landing a Wolverhampton maiden and best effort yet when landing Kempton handicap (7f) in March. Entitled to be sharper for first start for 5 months (also gelded) at Lingfield 2 weeks ago and interesting what the market makes of him. Engaged 5.20 Epsom Monday. Two wins on AW in March, but well held on recent return; something to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (22/1 -267%) Change Sings |
22/1(-267%) | (10) Change Sings 22/1, Promise in maiden/novice company and despite being very easy to back, showed improved form to make a winning handicap debut at Kempton (7f) 3 weeks ago, enjoying the run of things but finding extra. From an excellent family and surprise where he not capable of better still. 5lb higher than for successful handicap debut at Kempton last time; a player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (6/1 +14%) Dark Desire |
6/1(+14%) | (9) Dark Desire 6/1, Clearly over whatever ailed her on debut last summer when running out a good winner of a Haydock maiden (7f) in July. Couldn't replicate that level when fourth under a penalty at Thirsk (1m, heavy) 24 days ago but it remains early days and switch to handicaps a plus now. Winning return at Haydock last month, but didn't back it up last time; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (5/1 +50%) Flying Spirit |
5/1(+50%) | (7) Flying Spirit 5/1, AW nursery winner last winter who has made a good start on turf, twice finishing runner up in 1m handicaps prior to getting off the mark at Lingfield (7f) earlier this month, staying on to lead line. Rider's claim off-sets his rise in weights and that may not be his limit. Raised 3lb for latest Lingfield win, but this more galloping track is in his favour. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (11/1 -29%) Nogo's Dream |
11/1(-29%) | (8) Nogo's Dream 11/1, AW maiden winner back in March who has the ability to defy this sort of mark, shaping as if still in good form when fifth of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW) 2 weeks ago. Equally as effective on turf and he's an each-way player again tackling 7f. In the frame in five of his seven handicaps, but mark remains fairly static as a result. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (6/1 +40%) Lord Uhtred |
6/1(+40%) | (1) Lord Uhtred 6/1, Confirmed previous promise when landing an AW novice (7f) on final start last season. Yet to fully fire in trio of handicaps, including when seventh of 11 at Kempton (7f) 13 days ago (following 3 months off/having been gelded). This should reveal more. Out of the frame in all three handicaps since returning; has enough to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (9/1 -20%) Overnight Oats |
9/1(-20%) | (6) Overnight Oats 9/1, Off the mark at Carlisle (6.9f) in July and displayed a brilliant attitude when following up at Sandown (7f) later last month. Respectable second in 3-runner event at Ffos Las (7.3f, soft) since and expected to give another good account for all this rates tougher. Record since hood applied reads 3112; possible that soft ground found him out last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (13) (18/1 -112%) Art Of Romance |
18/1(-112%) | (13) Art Of Romance 18/1, Good looking son of Caravaggio who displayed promise when second on debut in a Newmarket maiden (7f) on debut in April. Not in same form either start after but likely he remains capable of better now handicapping/having been gelded. Hood on 1st time and he's one to note. Hasn't built on a promising debut; makes handicap debut with a hood enlisted; watch market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (3/1 +50%) Captain Cuddles |
3/1(+50%) | (2) Captain Cuddles 3/1, Landed 6f Salisbury novice last summer and returned from a short break in good heart, producing best effort yet when runner-up in a C&D handicap 11 days ago, no match for winner but clear of the remainder. Big shout with Ryan Moore aboard. Placed in both starts since being gelded and races off same mark; win came on good to firm. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (8.5/1 +61%) Monopolise |
8.5/1(+61%) | (3) Monopolise 8.5/1, Ended 2022 on the up winning nurseries at Newmarket and Kempton and best effort yet when landing 7-runner Yarmouth handicap (1m) in July. Has run somewhat disappointingly both starts since though and present mark demands a little more. Well held the last twice and particularly poor at Goodwood last time; needs to bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (25/1 -317%) Majestic Newlaw |
25/1(-317%) | (11) Majestic Newlaw 25/1, Progressed with each start in novice events, runner-up over 6f at Chepstow last summer. Ran below best when sixth in 8-runner nursery at Epsom on final start but gelded subsequently and booking of Marquand an eye-catching one returning from 11 months off. Returns from 11 months off having been gelded in the meantime; watch market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (5) (100/1 -355%) Ellexis |
100/1(-355%) | (5) Ellexis 100/1, Off the mark with plenty in hand switched to all-weather at Lingfield on second and final outing at 2 yrs. However, she's yet to replicate that level of form in trio of starts so far this campaign, well held eighth of 9 in handicap at Ascot (7f) 45 days ago. Has beaten a total of one rival in three starts since returning; best watched for now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A determined winner at Lingfield last time out following a pair of solid runner-up efforts, FLYING SPIRIT looks the one to beat again and he can notch up a third career victory on just his sixth career outing on turf. That may be at the main expense of the unexposed Dark Desire and Captain Cuddles, who ran his best race as a three-year-old when runner-up over C&D last time out.
CAPTAIN CUDDLES has returned from a short break in very good order, finding only one who improved markedly too strong over C&D 11 days ago. Nicely on top of the remainder then, he gets the nod to prove his mark a workable one. Change Sings was seen to good effect when scoring on handicap debut at Kempton but he's a well-bred type who can do better again and is feared. Dark Desire and Lord Uhtred are others to monitor.
The vote goes to CAPTAIN CUDDLES who has run well off this mark in both starts since being gelded.

1st (9) (2.25/1 +65%) Crack Shot |
2.25/1(+65%) | (9) Crack Shot 2.25/1, Son of Kingman who got off the mark in 1m Nottingham maiden in June. Creditable second at Hamilton next time and not disgraced when fifth of 15 in a Class 2 at the Glorious Goodwood meeting on his handicap debut. Respected. Faded over 1m2f on soft on handicap debut; possible improver under today's conditions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (2.75/1 -22%) Classic |
2.75/1(-22%) | (1) Classic 2.75/1, Useful 7f winner at 2. Not up to Group 3 level in the Greenham on his C&D reappearance but back on track in handicaps since, winning over 7f at Sandown before shaping better than the bare result here (7f) last time, left with too much to do. Remains one to be interested in. 3yo who has potential now back up to 1m and is firmly in calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (11/1 -10%) Metabolt |
11/1(-10%) | (2) Metabolt 11/1, Won first 2 starts of the campaign and only narrowly failed to reel in one who was well in on hat-trick bid at Haydock. Found good run halted at Galway but shaped as if back in form when sixth of 13 at Windsor (8.1f) 12 days ago, not knocked about. Player. Two wins earlier in season and suffered trouble in running at Windsor latest; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (10/1 -18%) Cabinet Of Clowns |
10/1(-18%) | (4) Cabinet Of Clowns 10/1, Showed a willing attitude to get off the mark for the season at Newmarket in June and got back on the up in first-time blinkers when digging deep to land 12-runner event at Chepstow (8.1f) 19 days ago. Should remain competitive. Won in first-time blinkers at Chepstow and could have more to offer in the headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (12/1 -100%) Monte Linas |
12/1(-100%) | (7) Monte Linas 12/1, Made a winning debut at Chelmsford in April and cast aside a couple of heavy defeats in handicap company when landing 12-runner contest at York in July. Seemed unsuited by conditions at Sandown on most recent outing, so better judged on previous form. Lightly raced 3yo; won at York last month; testing going may have been too much at Sandown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (50/1 -127%) Intervention |
50/1(-127%) | (10) Intervention 50/1, Twenty one runs since last win in 2022 but wasn't seen to best effect when seventh of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 11 days ago, racing well off the pace after awkward start. Significantly back up in trip. Fair third over 8.4f in May but he's probably better served by a shorter trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (7/1 +30%) Island Bandit |
7/1(+30%) | (3) Island Bandit 7/1, Proved better than ever when doubling his tally for the year in 11-runner handicap (6/1) at Sandown (8f, good) 9 days ago, albeit with the run of the race. Merits respect under a 5-lb penalty. Two-time course winner who showed career-best form when winning at Sandown recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (6.5/1 +0%) Sea Eagle |
6.5/1(+0%) | (6) Sea Eagle 6.5/1, Continued theme of race-by-race progress when landing 7-runner maiden at Chelmsford in October. Most likely needed his recent Goodwood reappearance and this will reveal more. Unexposed 3yo who is open to improvement for his top trainer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (18/1 +0%) Remarkable Force |
18/1(+0%) | (8) Remarkable Force 18/1, Sharp juvenile (won first 2 starts) but failed to progress thereafter last term. However, arrives here having run easily his best race of this campaign when third at Sandown (7f) 19 days ago. Step up to 1m worth exploring and must enter calculations. Third over 7f at Sandown recently; remains to be seen if this 3yo will see out 1m. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
ISLAND BANDIT ticks a lot of boxes with two wins from three starts here, one over this trip, and, as the four-year-old also handles the predicted going, he seems to have every chance. He took a similar race last time out at Sandown and, although he has a 5lb penalty to carry, there may be more to come. Classic was a good fourth in a better race here over a furlong shorter and has every chance if he gets home, while Crack Shot is another to take seriously.
CLASSIC shaped as if still on a good mark when fourth here 10 days ago and, with the step back up to 1m well worth exploring, he earns the vote. Metabolt looked back in form at Windsor recently and must enter calculations, along with Monte Linas, who's better judged on his York win having seemed unsuited by testing ground at Sandown last time.
The step back up to 1m could be just what CLASSIC (nap) needs following his staying-on fourth over 7f here, when denied a clear run.

1st (2) (4/1 +20%) Graham |
4/1(+20%) | (2) Graham 4/1, All-the-way Salisbury handicap winner over this trip in June and has performed with credit when reaching the frame on all 3 outings since. Enjoying a solid run of form this summer and could be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (7/1 -17%) Medieval Gold |
7/1(-17%) | (10) Medieval Gold 7/1, Similar form in his 3 qualifying runs but possible he could take a step forward now handicapping in first-time cheekpieces. Soundly beaten on his three starts but gelded since and a possible improver for top yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (11/1 -175%) Sailing On |
11/1(-175%) | (9) Sailing On 11/1, Brother to Oaks winner Talent. Has made steady progress in maiden novice events, finishing length third of 7 to the reopposing African Star at Lingfield (11.5f, good to firm) 17 days ago. Handicap debut. One to consider. Good 3rd in recent maiden; this brother to Oaks winner Talent is open to further progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (4/1 +38%) Gordon Grey |
4/1(+38%) | (5) Gordon Grey 4/1, Improved when runner-up on 1¼m Newmarket handicap debut in June. Failed to back in up when only seventh in a Racing League handicap at Chepstow since but retains potential now moving up to 1½m with William Buick taking the ride. Second on handicap debut at Newmarket last month and had an excuse at Chepstow next time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (18/1 -177%) African Star |
18/1(-177%) | (7) African Star 18/1, Left January AW debut well behind when springing an 80/1 surprise in a maiden at Lingfield (11.5f, good to firm) in a first-time tongue tie (retained) 7 months later. Potential for better again now handicapping. 80-1 win in maiden recently; pedigree provides hope he'll be capable of better still. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (28/1 -100%) Haaland |
28/1(-100%) | (6) Haaland 28/1, Won back-to-back events at Southwell and Lingfield in January. Off since a lesser run at Wolverhampton in March and watching brief the percentage call on just his second turf start. Won two in a row in January but failed to threaten the next twice; returns from a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (8.5/1 -13%) Ragosina |
8.5/1(-13%) | (3) Ragosina 8.5/1, Hinted at ability in novice events at and has duly improved in handicaps this term, winning over 1¼m at Newmarket in June. Creditable third over 1½m back there since. First-time blinkers replace the cheekpieces worn the last twice. In good form in cheekpieces the last twice; now sports blinkers and she retains potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (8.5/1 -13%) Edge Of Ember |
8.5/1(-13%) | (8) Edge Of Ember 8.5/1, Fair maiden. Creditable return from win surgery when sixth of 12 in 1¼m Chelmsford handicap 3 weeks ago. Steps back up to 1½m now. Only sixth in first two handicaps but today's step back up in trip may be a positive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (22/1 -38%) Mythical Guest |
22/1(-38%) | (1) Mythical Guest 22/1, Fair form in maiden/novice events. Not obviously well treated for this handicap debut but does bring unexposed potential. Has shown ability and now goes handicapping off fair mark; not ruled out for in-form yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (3.33/1 +56%) Divya |
3.33/1(+56%) | (4) Divya 3.33/1, Fair maiden who seemed stretched by 2m when fifth of 7 on Kempton handicap debut 20 days ago. Back down in trip with Oisin Murphy doing the steering. Faded over 2m on handicap debut; drops back down in trip and is not ruled out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Edge Of Ember was expected to do better when sent off favourite at Chelmsford on his first start after wind surgery, but he is upped in trip now and may improve. African Star is hard to gauge after winning his maiden at 80/1, and he could surprise a few on his handicap debut, but RAGOSINA is narrowly preferred. She ran on into third despite becoming unbalanced at Newmarket and sports first-time blinkers.
GORDON GREY is given a second chance to confirm the promise of his Newmarket handicap debut second, form which has been franked by those around him. Sailing On, Medieval Gold and African Star all have unexposed potential now switching to handicap company and may provide the main opposition.
Gordon Grey is a tempting option but the William Haggas-trained MEDIEVAL GOLD could prove to be much better than his opening mark.

Gentle Whinny |
(7) (22/1 -120%)22/1(-120%) | (7) Gentle Whinny 22/1, Improved with each of her 3 starts as a 2-y-o, culminating in a 1m novice success at Windsor. However, she hasn't made much of an impact in a couple of handicaps this time round and needs to get back on track. 2yo novice win last October but well beaten on both starts this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (11) (2/1 +43%) Unlimited |
2/1(+43%) | (11) Unlimited 2/1, Has performed to a similar level in a trio of novice events, most recently finishing third of 11 at Hamilton (8.3f, good). Still, improvement could be forthcoming now that he moves back up in trip for this handicap debut. Makes handicap debut having been gelded; in top hands and he's one to be interested in. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (3/1 +33%) Khinjani |
3/1(+33%) | (4) Khinjani 3/1, Had a bit left up her sleeve when opening her account in a 5-runner Haydock handicap (10.4f, good) earlier this month. Nudged up just 2 lb and she looks nailed-on for another bold show. Won at Haydock latest; this looks a better race but she has a progressive profile. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (14/1 +0%) Ithaca's Arrow |
14/1(+0%) | (10) Ithaca's Arrow 14/1, Improved form when scoring on the AW upped to 1½m at Lingfield in May but subsequent efforts have not been too inspiring. Won AW novice in May but has failed to threaten in turf handicaps on next four starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (11/1 -29%) Gold Aura |
11/1(-29%) | (9) Gold Aura 11/1, Failed to build on debut promise at 2 yrs but nothing wrong with this season's placed efforts in 1m handicaps at Kempton and Salisbury (good). Mark unchanged and shapes as though this trip will suit, so she's worth considering. Placed over 1m on both runs in 2023; pedigree suggests she'll improve for this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (11/1 -69%) Yamalia Star |
11/1(-69%) | (3) Yamalia Star 11/1, Fair form in a handful of Irish maidens, not beaten far when fourth of 12 at Roscommon (1½m, good to soft) last week. Shapes as though this trip could be ideal and while she needs to improve now handicapping, it's possible that she'll do just that with first-time cheekpieces enlisted. Promise in Irish maidens and pedigree provides optimism she'll be capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (5/1 +41%) Bloomwithgrace |
5/1(+41%) | (5) Bloomwithgrace 5/1, Shaped well all 3 starts in novice company at 2 yrs and knocking on the door this season, finding just one too good upped to this trip at Ripon (good) last time. Likely to pick up a race before long but improvement will be needed if this is to be the race in which she gets off the mark. Second at Ripon last time behind one who followed up; could again be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (8.5/1 -21%) Forest Demon |
8.5/1(-21%) | (2) Forest Demon 8.5/1, Kempton nursery winner at 2 yrs and deservedly got his head back in front with a first-time tongue strap applied under William Buick at Newmarket (1¼m, good) recently. 4 lb rise fair enough and he has to enter calculations. Improved form to win at Newmarket 11 days ago and he's respected up 4lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (33/1 -50%) Nopoli |
33/1(-50%) | (1) Nopoli 33/1, Successful at Jebel Ali in January but hasn't made much of an impact in 5 subsequent starts. Handicapper has shown mercy (eased 5 lb since latest start) but, even so, he's hard to warm to. Won on dirt at Jebel Ali in January on second start but struggled to get competitive since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (33/1 -288%) Photon |
33/1(-288%) | (6) Photon 33/1, Promise on first 2 starts at Kempton and again when third in a 9-runner Salisbury novice (7f, soft) on turf debut last month. Mark for this handicap debut looks fair and this stiffer test should help but one or two of these are more appealing all the same. Not bred for this sort of trip but not ruled out under Billy Loughnane on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (22/1 -83%) Raintown |
22/1(-83%) | (8) Raintown 22/1, Enjoyed a productive 2-y-o campaign on the AW, completing the hat-trick on New Year's Eve. Has struggled in 4 runs since switched to turf, though, and it's easy enough to look elsewhere. Three AW wins towards end of last year but down the field on grass the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (50/1 -178%) Star Of Mayo |
50/1(-178%) | (12) Star Of Mayo 50/1, Showed improved form to make it fourth time lucky in novice company at Lingfield (1m, AW) in January. Disappointed in handicaps over longer trips both starts thereafter on AW and, having been gelded, he again failed to shine back from a break/returned to turf at Salisbury (1m, good). Patchy profile this year but recent comeback run wasn't devoid of promise; not discounted. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
William Haggas won this in 2021 and has an interesting contender here with Unlimited, who was third on his latest start and has been gelded since. He needs to improve, but a mark of 70 for his handicap debut looks fair. Gold Aura has done little wrong with a second and a third this season and she could also have some say, but KHINJANI is hard to oppose. A winner last time out at Haydock, she travelled well throughout for a comfortable success and an added 2lb may not be enough to stop her.
KHINJANI found only the progressive Gallant Lion, who has gone in twice again since, over this C&D last month prior to going one better at Haydock 17 days ago. She appeared to have more in hand than the winning margin would suggest on that occasion and, up just 2 lb, she is taken to strike again. Forest Demon, also successful last time, is feared most ahead of the upped-in-trip Gold Aura and handicap-debutant Unlimited.
The step up in trip looks to be the right move for GOLD AURA and she is taken to get off the mark at the sixth attempt.
Ths is the racecard key.
