Harry With Style |
(4) (20/1 +20%)20/1(+20%) | (4) Harry With Style 20/1, Tenth of 11 in handicap (11/1) at Nottingham (5f, heavy) 42 days ago. Chance if rediscovering old form. 7lb below last winning mark, but moderate so far this year and carries too many risks. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (8) (7/2 +13%) Ski Angel |
7/2(+13%) | (8) Ski Angel 7/2, 1 win from 2 runs this year. Latest win at Ayr in May. 5/2, eighth of 11 in handicap at Hamilton (6f, good) 15 days ago so needs to bounce back. Not as effective over 6f so last run can be forgiven; big player back over 5f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (4/1 +60%) Jack Of Clubs |
4/1(+60%) | (3) Jack Of Clubs 4/1, Eleventh of 13 in handicap (12/1) at Leicester (6f, good) 21 days ago. Looks competitive at these weights if back on his A-game. 1-17; booking of Silvestre De Sousa catches the eye, but the drop to 5f poses a question. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (5/1 +33%) Doon The Glen |
5/1(+33%) | (9) Doon The Glen 5/1, Seventh of 10 in handicap (3/1) at Ayr (6f, good to firm) 10 days ago, never nearer. Visor back on. Needs a couple of these to falter. 0-15 but runner-up in two of his last four starts; may prefer a stiffer 5f than this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (14) (9/1 +44%) Kyber Crystal |
9/1(+44%) | (14) Kyber Crystal 9/1, One win from 27 Flat runs. Below form sixth of 11 in handicap at Beverley (5f, soft, 18/1) 3 days ago. Hard to warm to. 1-27, but has become regressive including in three starts for this yard; look elsewhere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (14/1 -155%) Global Humor |
14/1(-155%) | (7) Global Humor 14/1, Unreliable sort. Creditable fourth of 11 in handicap (7/2) at Hamilton (6f, good) 15 days ago, nearest finish. Can give a good account if on song again. Rarely seen over 5f these days and his tendency to miss the break won't help matters. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (12/1 -20%) Canaria Prince |
12/1(-20%) | (12) Canaria Prince 12/1, C&D winner. Looked rusty after 6 months off when fourth of 7 in handicap (13/2) at Catterick (5f, soft) 9 days ago. Blinkers back on and can take a step forward. Back off last winning mark and may be better for recent return; drying ground a plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (13) (20/1 -43%) Captain Corcoran |
20/1(-43%) | (13) Captain Corcoran 20/1, Nineteen runs since last win in 2022. Only fifth of 8 in handicap at Hamilton (5f, good, 15/2) 15 days ago. Others more persuasive. Just out of the weights and drawn low but capable of big run if the ground remains testing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (33/1 +0%) Mews House |
33/1(+0%) | (10) Mews House 33/1, Seventh of 8 in handicap at Hamilton (5f, good, 9/1) 15 days ago. Others appeal more. 13lb below last winning mark, but not shown enough since to suggest he can take advantage. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (14/1 -17%) Stallone |
14/1(-17%) | (1) Stallone 14/1, Latest win at Newcastle in March. 16/1, eighth of 10 in handicap at Nottingham (5f, good to firm) 22 days ago. Can make presence felt if shrugging off latest effort. Back off last winning mark and very suited by a soft surface, but may not be well drawn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (6/1 -50%) Golden Rainbow |
6/1(-50%) | (5) Golden Rainbow 6/1, Latest win at Newcastle in March. Raced wide and not seen to best effect when fourth of 13 in handicap (4/1) at Catterick (5f, good) 19 days ago. Has to be taken seriously eased 1 lb. 0-13 on turf but ran well at Catterick last time; drying ground in his favour. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (150/1 -127%) Onthebunny |
150/1(-127%) | (11) Onthebunny 150/1, 80/1, last of 11 in handicap at Hamilton (6f, good) 15 days ago. 0-8; beaten a long way in three starts for this yard since returning from a long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (2) (20/1 +39%) Eternal Sunshine |
20/1(+39%) | (2) Eternal Sunshine 20/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 250/1, sixth of 9 in minor event at Newcastle (8f). Off 7 months. Significantly back down in trip. More needed on her handicap debut. Well held in three starts from 5f-12.5f last autumn; handicap debut after seven months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (6) (40/1 -21%) Therehegoes |
40/1(-21%) | (6) Therehegoes 40/1, Eleventh of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 10/1). Off 146 days. First run for yard after leaving Robyn Brisland. Cheekpieces back on. Others more persuasive. 1lb below his last winning mark, but makes stable debut after five months off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
An open contest sees a chance taken on GOLDEN RAINBOW, who is a consistent performer and looks the most solid proposition in this field. Rebecca Menzies' charge has been eased 1lb by the handicapper after finishing fourth over 5f at Catterick last month and that can help the five-year-old get back to winning ways. Global Humor could also be on the scene if he's more polished at the start than last time, while Doon The Glen is also worthy of a closer look.
Not so competitive as the numbers suggest and GOLDEN RAINBOW is fancied to capitalise on a handy-looking mark having not enjoyed the rub of the green when fourth at Catterick last time. Tim Easterby's C&D scorer Canaria Prince should strip fitter for her recent reappearance fourth there and is feared most, atlhtough Jack of Clubs is weighted to have a say if on his A-game and needs considering too.
The vote goes to SKI ANGEL who won't mind if the ground stays soft or dries out a bit. She will certainly appreciate the return to 5f.

1st (3) (11/4 -57%) New Image |
11/4(-57%) | (3) New Image 11/4, Promising Frankel gelding who bagged a second win this year in 7f handicap at Southwell. Didn't enjoy the best of runs when good fourth at Thirsk since so remains one to keep on the right side of. Big shout. Nice prospect on the AW in the spring and unlucky back on turf last time; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (33/1 -106%) Judgment Call |
33/1(-106%) | (7) Judgment Call 33/1, C&D winner. 6/1, fair fourth of 6 in handicap at Ayr (6f, soft). Off 8 months but not ruled out. Record here reads 24313; may need the run after eight months off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (4/1 +50%) Love De Vega |
4/1(+50%) | (1) Love De Vega 4/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Chelmsford City in February. 10/1, tenth of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (7.1f) 20 days ago so needs to bounce back. Back off last winning mark but not at his best in four starts since; needs a turnaround. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (13/2 +35%) Rock Melody |
13/2(+35%) | (6) Rock Melody 13/2, C&D winner. Turned in her best effort of the season when fourth of 6 in handicap at Ayr (6f, good) 18 days ago, running on. Very much one to consider off an easing mark. Three of her five wins have come here and is back off last winning mark; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (6/1 +33%) On A Session |
6/1(+33%) | (4) On A Session 6/1, C&D winner. 17/2, seventh of 10 in handicap at Thirsk (7f, good to firm) 14 days ago, not knocked about. Can give a good account. Both wins for this yard have come over C&D; could put up a bold show off a handy mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (6/1 -20%) Woodstock |
6/1(-20%) | (5) Woodstock 6/1, Latest win at Wolverhampton in April. 12/1, good third of 10 in handicap at Thirsk (7f, good to firm) 14 days ago. In the mix once more. 0-5 on turf but a close third at Thirsk last time; may not confirm form with New Image. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (10/1 +50%) Braveheart Boy |
10/1(+50%) | (10) Braveheart Boy 10/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. Respectable fourth of 8 in handicap (15/2) at Carlisle (5.8f, good to firm) 12 days ago, running on. Back up in trip. No forlorn hope. 0-13 since handicapping and finished out of the frame in one previous attempt at 7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (40/1 -150%) B Associates |
40/1(-150%) | (11) B Associates 40/1, C&D winner. 18/1, last of 16 in handicap at Thirsk (8f, good to firm) 14 days ago. Back to a potentially lenient mark if at his best. Little since returning in April; 4lb below last winning mark, but best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (28/1 -75%) Yaaser |
28/1(-75%) | (9) Yaaser 28/1, C&D winner. 16/1, seventh of 8 in handicap at Ayr (7.2f, good) 18 days ago so needs to get back on track. 2-5 over C&D but 7lb higher than when winning here last summer; looks stable second-string. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (150/1 -200%) Manu Et Corde |
150/1(-200%) | (2) Manu Et Corde 150/1, Last of 6 in handicap at Hamilton (13.1f, good to soft, 28/1) 27 days ago. Significantly down in trip. First run for yard after leaving Iain Jardine. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. Has completely lost his way and starts out for another new yard; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (8/1 +33%) He's A Gentleman |
8/1(+33%) | (8) He's A Gentleman 8/1, Latest win at Wolverhampton in November. 12/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at Newmarket (8f, good) 14 days ago. Can make presence felt if shrugging off latest run. 0-17 on turf; mixed bag since returning to grass in March; others more solid. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
NEW IMAGE was very unlucky to finish a length behind the protagonists when fourth over 7f at Thirsk last time and with more luck, he looks primed to get his head in front. David O'Meara's runner was denied a clear run at a crucial stage on that occasion and he can exploit this unchanged mark. Woodstock (third) finished half a length in front of the selection on that occasion and appears likely to offer another bold bid, while He's A Gentleman would have a solid chance if he reproduces the form of his second over 7f at Chester on his penultimate outing.
David O'Meara has his string in great nick and his upwardly-mobile Frankel gelding NEW IMAGE is fancied to quickly resume winning ways having not enjoyed a clear run when fourth at Thirsk last time out. In-form Woodstock heads the list of dangers, with Rock Melody, He's A Gentleman and On A Session also in the picture.
Woodstock finished ahead of NEW IMAGE (nap) last time, but David O'Meara's gelding met plenty of trouble so can reverse the form.

1st (7) (10/3 -11%) Invincible Annice |
10/3(-11%) | (7) Invincible Annice 10/3, Debut Pontefract second but twelfth of 15 to Betty Clover in listed race (18/1) at York (5f, good) 15 days ago. This is much easier so must enter calculations. Runner-up on Pontefract debut but outclassed in York Listed race; high on list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (11/4 -69%) Up The Clarets |
11/4(-69%) | (1) Up The Clarets 11/4, Promising sort. Won 5-runner maiden (9/4) at Hamilton (5f, good) on debut 15 days ago, despite being green and slowly away. Should have more to offer. Leading claims. Penalty for successful Hamilton debut, but effort can probaly be marked up; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (33/1 -50%) Deal Maker |
33/1(-50%) | (2) Deal Maker 33/1, Thrice-raced winner. Winner at Southwell in March. Last of 11 in minor event at Kempton (6f, 12/1) 10 days ago so needs to bounce back. Hasn't gone on from her successful Southwell debut; others preferred on turf debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (11/1 +8%) Alcedo Atthis |
11/1(+8%) | (3) Alcedo Atthis 11/1, Twice-raced maiden. Ninth of 12 in maiden at Cork (5f, good, 125/1) 22 days ago. More is needed. Well held in two starts in Ireland, but Silvestre De Sousa an eyecatching booking. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (13/8 +73%) Combat Soldier |
13/8(+73%) | (4) Combat Soldier 13/8, Second of 9 in maiden at Ripon (5f, good to firm, 12/1) on debut 22 days ago, not knocked about. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Should improve. In the picture. Runner-up on Ripon debut; ordinary form but is open to improvement; cheekpieces on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (16/1 -60%) Far Above Mary |
16/1(-60%) | (6) Far Above Mary 16/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Good third of 8 in maiden at Haydock (6f, soft, 17/2) 8 days ago. Very much in the mix. Third in two of her three starts on turf, but exposed after five starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (12/1 +0%) Elladora Black |
12/1(+0%) | (5) Elladora Black 12/1, Elarqam filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including useful winner up to 7.6f Red Mirage and 2-y-o 5f winner Duchray. Dam 5f winner (including at 2 yrs) who stayed 6f. Considered newcomer. Something to like on pedigree and market support would be significant. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
UP THE CLARETS made the perfect start to his career when scoring over 5f at Hamilton last month and he can follow up that success. Richard Fahey's charge is likely to improve for that experience and a more polished display can be expected. Invincible Annice struggled to land a blow in Listed company last time but she commands respect back in these calmer waters, while Combat Soldier appears likely to build on his debut effort.
None of these can be ruled out but it's hard to side against Richard Fahey's UP THE CLARETS who overcame greenness to make a winning debut at Hamilton and looks to have more to offer here. Invincilbe Annice is feared most now her sights are lowered considerably, while Ripon runner-up Combat Soldier and Haydock-third Far Above Mary must also enter calculations.
Despite a penalty UP THE CLARETS can maintain his unbeaten record. His winning Hamilton debut may have been even better than it looked.

1st (5) (7/2 -5%) Jabaara |
7/2(-5%) | (5) Jabaara 7/2, Useful filly. Respectable 3¼ lengths third of 11 to Pandora's Gift in listed race at Chelmsford City (6f, 5/2) 30 days ago. Ought to be thereabouts. Ran well when third in a Chelmsford Listed race on her return; worth another go at 7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (8/1 +27%) Pinafore |
8/1(+27%) | (1) Pinafore 8/1, Useful filly. 3/1, 7¾ lengths sixth of 8 to Territorywar in listed race at Chantilly (6f, soft) 30 days ago. Enters calculations if back on her A-game. Held in two Listed contests since returning; steps up to 7f for the first time; needs more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (3/1 +33%) Soprano |
3/1(+33%) | (8) Soprano 3/1, Useful filly. Had wind op and not disgraced when fifth of 11 to Pandora's Gift in listed race at Chelmsford City (6f) 30 days ago, not knocked about. Can take a step forward. Placed four times at Group/Listed level last season; things didn't pan out right on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (5/2 +0%) Stenton Glider |
5/2(+0%) | (4) Stenton Glider 5/2, Useful filly who went down by only a neck to Great Generation Group 3 event at Lingfield (7f, good to firm) 21 days ago. Very good form claims. Placed in five Group races; beaten a neck at Lingfield last time; the one to beat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (6/1 +8%) Sophia's Starlight |
6/1(+8%) | (3) Sophia's Starlight 6/1, Useful filly. Good length second of 6 to Electric Storm in listed race at Haydock (6f, soft, 5/1) 8 days ago. Progressing well recently so he's firmly in the picture. Has twice finished runner-up at Listed level since the autumn and return to 7f no problem. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (20/1 +29%) Princess Alex |
20/1(+29%) | (7) Princess Alex 20/1, Fairly useful filly who comes here on the back of a career-best win in 10-runner handicap at Beverley (7.4f, good) 26 days ago. This demands considerably more, however. Bids for a hat-trick after winning two handicaps, but this will be completely different. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (50/1 -150%) Silent Words |
50/1(-150%) | (2) Silent Words 50/1, Fairly useful filly. 8½ lengths sixth of 8 to Unequal Love in listed race (11/1) at Newmarket (6f, good) 28 days ago. More is required. 0-8 on turf; third in a Listed race last autumn, but well held on return; stamina to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (20/1 +9%) Les Bleus |
20/1(+9%) | (6) Les Bleus 20/1, Fairly useful filly. 13 lengths eighth of 9 to Great Generation in Chartwell Stakes (14/1) at Lingfield (7f, good to firm) 21 days ago. Has plenty to find on form. Well behind Stenton Glider at Lingfield three weeks ago; needs to get back on track. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Slightly unlucky not to score in Pattern company last season, STENTON GLIDER shaped very well on her return to the UK when narrowly denied in the Chartwell at Lingfield, and connections look to have found her an ideal opportunity to score. A respectable third at this level over 6f at Chelmsford, Jabaara is of interest on the step back up in trip, while Sophia's Starlight is another to consider on the back of a strong runner-up effort at Haydock.
Hugo Palmer's STENTON GLIDER was just edged out in Group 3 company at Lingfield last time and can gain compensation here at the chief expense of the improving Sophia's Starlight. Both Pinafore and Soprano have the form to play a part too and need factoring into this competitive listed event along with Roger Varian's low-mileage Jabaara.
This can to STENTON GLIDER who is best-in on these terms and went down by just a neck in a Group 3 at Lingfield three weeks ago.

1st (2) (7/2 -5%) Watcha Matey |
7/2(-5%) | (2) Watcha Matey 7/2, Career best when winning 13-runner handicap at Newmarket (1m, good, 33/1) on reappearance 46 days ago, finding extra. That is solid form. 7lb higher than when making a successful return at Newmarket, but form has been franked. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (9/1 -29%) Whathappensinvegas |
9/1(-29%) | (8) Whathappensinvegas 9/1, Career best when winning 12-runner handicap at Newmarket (1¼m, good, 25/1) 14 days ago, always holding on. Should remain competitive up 3 lb. Off the mark at the tenth attempt at Newmarket last time; not sure how strong the form is. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (20/1 -122%) Expert Choice |
20/1(-122%) | (4) Expert Choice 20/1, Promising individual. Not ideally drawn when mid-division in big-field York nursery on final 2-y-o start. Retains potential on return with blinkers added. Returns from 282 days off in first-time blinkers having been gelded; watch market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (3/1 +54%) Magico |
3/1(+54%) | (1) Magico 3/1, Lightly-raced winner. Sixth of 8 in handicap at Ascot (1¼m, good to firm, 9/2) on reappearance 21 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Has work to do. Two wins last autumn and should be all the better for last month's Ascot return; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (10/1 +0%) Global Skies |
10/1(+0%) | (3) Global Skies 10/1, Seventh of 8 in handicap at Ascot (1¼m, good to firm, 17/2) 21 days ago. Must improve. Just behind Magico, who was making his reappearance, at Ascot last time; has a bit to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (6/1 +33%) Individualism |
6/1(+33%) | (6) Individualism 6/1, Shaped well when second on 1m course reappearance. Failed to stay 1¼m and shaped much better than the result in ultra-competitive London Gold Cup at Newbury since. Can do better back over shorter. 0-6 and well beaten in a warm race at Newbury last time; needs to bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (12/1 -50%) Classy Boy |
12/1(-50%) | (7) Classy Boy 12/1, Winner at Beverley in April. Creditable third of 7 in handicap (11/4) at Nottingham (8.3f, good) 21 days ago. Made a winning return at Beverley, but only third off this mark at Nottingham last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (7/2 +13%) Highland Spring |
7/2(+13%) | (5) Highland Spring 7/2, Thrice-raced maiden. 5/4, second of 6 in maiden at Redcar (7f, good to firm) on final 2-y-o start. From a leading stable and can go on to better things in handicaps this year. Makes handicap debut after eight months off; extra 2f should suit on breeding; unexposed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
WATCHA MATEY scored comfortably at Newmarket over 1m on his return and the form of that contest has worked out well in the meantime. A 7lb rise looks manageable for Hugo Palmer's charge, and he could have too much for the unexposed handicap-debutant Highland Spring, and Whathappensinvegas, who improved from first to second start for this yard when breaking the maiden at Newmarket.
WATCHA MATEY has had the form of his 1m win at the Newmarket Craven meeting boosted several times since and can defy the handicapper. Individualism was a lot better than the result in the London Gold Cup last time and is second choice ahead of William Haggas handicap newcomer Highland Spring.
The choice is MAGICO who looked progressive last autumn and ran better on his Ascot return than his finishing position would suggest.

2/1(+27%) | (3) Pilgrim 2/1, Left reappearance behind when creditable third of 17 in handicap at York (5f, good, 5/1) 15 days ago. That appeals as solid form. Gets the vote. Off the same mark as when third in a big field at York last time; serious player. |

2nd (10) (9/1 +55%) Stash The Cash |
9/1(+55%) | (10) Stash The Cash 9/1, Winner at Catterick in April but held in stronger races at Chester and York since. Twice held since making a successful return/handicap debut; needs a resurgence. |

3rd (1) (12/1 -41%) Moonstone Boy |
12/1(-41%) | (1) Moonstone Boy 12/1, Winner at Southwell in March. 6/1 and blinkered first time, sixth of 8 in handicap at Chester (5f, good) 24 days ago. Bounce back needed. Return to a straight track may help but he lacks the scope of several of these rivals. |

15/2(+17%) | (7) Make It Easy 15/2, Good start for new yard, creditable fourth of 17 in handicap (28/1) at York (5f, good) 15 days ago, although Pilgrim was ahead of him. Just under 2l behind Pilgrim when fourth of 17 at York last time; should go well again. |

20/1(-150%) | (2) Batal Zabeel 20/1, Fairly useful form at 2, winning a 5f Beverley nursery. Good second of 6 in nursery (11/2) at York (6f, good) final start. Player on return. Off 265 days having been gelded; interesting to see what the market says on return. |

8th (4) (22/1 -10%) Sankari |
22/1(-10%) | (4) Sankari 22/1, 80/1, fifteenth of 17 in handicap at York (5f, good) on reappearance 15 days ago. Needs to have come on a lot. Two wins last year but well behind four of these at York 15 days ago; has a lot to find. |

9th (5) (2/1 +33%) Circus Lion |
2/1(+33%) | (5) Circus Lion 2/1, Thrice-raced winner. 8/11, won 5-runner C&D maiden (good) 29 days ago, comfortably. Opening handicap mark looks workable. Should go well. Improving and easily landed a C&D novice last month; more to come now handicapping. |

10th (9) (28/1 -12%) Silky Robin |
28/1(-12%) | (9) Silky Robin 28/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Third of 9 in novice at Wolverhampton (5f) in December. Off 168 days. Makes handicap debut. Placed in two of his three starts on the AW; makes handicap/turf debut after 168 days off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A novice winner on soft going last year, PILGRIM finished a creditable third in a higher grade at York on his latest start with several of these behind. He looks up to scoring off his current handicap mark on that showing and gets the vote. Moonstone Boy went close at Thirsk earlier in the year and another good effort can be expected from him, while Batal Zabeel returns to action 4lb higher than when successful at Beverley last August.
PILGRIM's latest York third appeals as solid form and he's narrowly preferred to handicap newcomer Circus Lion, who won easily in maiden company here last month. Make It Easy, a place behind the selection at York, and Batal Zabeel are others to consider in an interesting sprint handicap.
The vote goes to the unexposed CIRCUS LION who enters handicaps with the potential for plenty of further improvement.

9th (1) (14/1 +22%) Bulls Aye |
14/1(+22%) | (1) Bulls Aye 14/1, Course winner. Eleventh of 13 in handicap (33/1) at Ayr (7f, good) 18 days ago. Bounce back needed. Won here last October; now 2lb lower but he's struggled on his four outings this year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
CHINESE SPIRIT was headed in the shadow of the post when runner-up in last year's renewal and Linda Perratt's veteran may prove to be the one to side with off 3lb lower here. Mr Strutter is not without a shout back up in distance, but Eva Rosie makes more appeal on her recent form on the all-weather having slid down the ratings.
CUBAN ROCK should be all the sharper for his recent 6f reappearance and might prove the answer to this finale. Last month's Wolverhampton scorer Coconut Bay and David Thompson's Mr Strutter also make the shortlist.
Preference is for CHINESE SPIRIT, who went close in this race last year and can build on his fair reappearance fourth here.
Ths is the racecard key.
