1st (2) (2/1 -14%) Nickelforce |
2/1(-14%) | (2) Nickelforce 2/1, Consistent over hurdles and took well to chasing when landing an 11-runner handicap at Stratford in ready fashion last month. Jumping looks an asset and he's worth a chance to follow up. Not overly pressed to win by 5l at Stratford; jumped and travelled well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (11/4 +39%) Superbolt |
11/4(+39%) | (8) Superbolt 11/4, 11/4, first run since leaving Mrs C. O'Leary when creditable second of 11 in handicap hurdle at Perth (20.2f, soft) 29 days ago. More to offer for his in-form stable, so big player if he takes to the larger obstacles. Second over hurdles on yard debut; not bred for chasing but could still give it a good go. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (14/1 +30%) She Has Notions |
14/1(+30%) | (11) She Has Notions 14/1, Left previous efforts behind when scoring at Worcester in July but isn't the most consistent and has failed to back it up. Visor back on now. Profile is very up and down; beaten 11l into fifth the final time at Huntingdon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (12/1 +0%) Cawthorne Banker |
12/1(+0%) | (1) Cawthorne Banker 12/1, Fairly useful bumper performer who over hurdles in handicaps, doubling his career tally at Fontwell (17.7f) in May. Underwhelming start to chasing at Worcester three months ago but may have learned from that. Hurdle winner; last on chase debut but can be given another chance; unexposed at this trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (22/1 +33%) Caro Des Flos |
22/1(+33%) | (10) Caro Des Flos 22/1, Veteran who wasn't disgraced when fifth at Market Rasen four months ago. Mark looks to sum him up these days, though. Hasn't offered much at all in his last four runs and he's getting on now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (25/1 -79%) Post No Bills |
25/1(-79%) | (5) Post No Bills 25/1, Good runner-up efforts in the space of 24 hrs at Perth last month but saw his mini-revival come to an abrupt halt at Hereford 10 days ago. Others make more appeal. Twice runner-up at Perth last month but ran no race at Hereford only ten days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (16/1 -33%) Stumps Or Slips |
16/1(-33%) | (3) Stumps Or Slips 16/1, Bit below form eighth of 13 in handicap chase at Worcester (20f, good, 9/2) 91 days ago. Had been in good form prior to that but his jumping has a tendency to let him down. Dual chase winner who went close off this mark in May; has a big effort in him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (9/1 -29%) Fashion's Model |
9/1(-29%) | (9) Fashion's Model 9/1, Improved to win 5-runner handicap chase (10/3) at Wincanton (20.2f, heavy). Obvious claims on form if she's sufficiently tuned up after six months off. A winner when last seen but may prefer softer ground on today's reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) (5/1 +38%) Rock On Pedro |
5/1(+38%) | (6) Rock On Pedro 5/1, Fair hurdler who has only shown modest form over fences. Mark is coming more into line now, though, and he arrives on the back of a creditable showing at Gowran earlier in the month. Maiden jumper but wasn't beaten far in a handicap chase at Gowran 19 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (11/1 +8%) Magic Dancer |
11/1(+8%) | (4) Magic Dancer 11/1, Not scored since 2022 but largely ran with credit last term. Pulled up at Worcester on return, however, so has a bit to prove now. Off new career-low mark but a 12yo now and he holds no secrets. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NICKELFORCE made the perfect start to life over fences when scoring readily at Stratford last month and, with the promise of more to come, he gets the vote to defy a 6lb rise in the ratings. Superbolt was a pleasing second on his stable debut for Nigel Twiston-Davies over hurdles at Perth 29 days ago and may well improve for this switch to chasing. He and Irish raider Rock On Pedro are the pair feared most.
NICKELFORCE didn't put a foot wrong with his jumping at Stratford on his chasing debut and he's fancied to maintain his unbeaten record in this sphere at the possible expense of Fashion's Model, who scored with an improved showing at Wincanton 6 months ago. Superbolt looks an interesting chasing debutant for an in-form stable.
The 6yo ROCK ON PEDRO has travelled over from Ireland in search of good ground and he ran well last time out.

1st (12) (7/4 -40%) La Marquise |
7/4(-40%) | (12) La Marquise 7/4, Dual bumper winner who signed off last term with an excellent third of 16 in Grade 2 Aintree bumper in April. Very much one to consider now starting out in this sphere. Dual bumper winner and Grade 2-placed; should have a big say on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (3/1 +25%) Kalium |
3/1(+25%) | (6) Kalium 3/1, Boasts appealing pedigree and made a winning start in bumpers at Killarney in May. Since joined Tim Vaughan and must enter calculations on hurdles debut here. Didn't beat a lot but he won his Irish bumper by 19l (good/yielding) and fetched £100,000. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (8/1 0%) Stone's Throw |
8/1(0%) | (9) Stone's Throw 8/1, Off the mark at first time of asking in bumpers for Paul Webber at Southwell in May. Since joined new yard and warrants respect on first crack over hurdles. Stuck on well to win an ordinary soft-ground Southwell bumper earlier this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (3/1 +70%) Oh My Johnny |
3/1(+70%) | (8) Oh My Johnny 3/1, £56,000 4-y-o, Soldier of Fortune gelding. Dam multiple point winner/maiden under Rules, half-sister to very smart hurdler/high-class chaser (stayed 25f) Vinndication. Disputing lead when fell last only start in Irish points (May 12). Interesting. Held every chance when falling late on in his Irish point and later bought for £56,000. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (80/1 +20%) Castadrift |
80/1(+20%) | (4) Castadrift 80/1, Made the frame on sole bumper start but below that level on Warwick hurdles bow 21 days ago. Up against it. Close up in a bumper but failed to offer much on hurdling debut when 66-1. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (250/1 -25%) Granny B |
250/1(-25%) | (11) Granny B 250/1, Fair winner on Flat but done majority of her racing over sprint distances and unsurprisingly made little impact on hurdles bow at Stratford recently. Winning sprinter; always behind when 300-1 for hurdling debut at Stratford. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (100/1 -100%) Klic Boum |
100/1(-100%) | (7) Klic Boum 100/1, Bred to need time and distance and shaped in kind on sole bumper outing and when eighth at Chepstow on hurdles debut earlier this month. Beaten 14l in a bumper and roughly double that on switch to hurdles at Chepstow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (16/1 -113%) Gwennie May Star |
16/1(-113%) | (5) Gwennie May Star 16/1, Offered something to work on both starts in bumpers 3 months apart but proved to be a disappointment on hurdles debut at Worcester last month and looks yard's second string here. Promise in bumpers; first time on soft ground when pulled up on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (250/1 -658%) Annie Don |
250/1(-658%) | (10) Annie Don 250/1, No show on debut in Southwell bumper in May and likely best watched on switch to hurdles. Second in an Irish point; too free when well beaten in a 2m bumper at Southwell. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|B| (2) (6/1 -33%) Jafimgoso |
6/1(-33%) | (2) Jafimgoso 6/1, Warwick bumper winner who proved to be a disappointment for no obvious reason on his hurdling debut in Uttoxeter novice in June. In good hands, though, and is one for shortlist. Progressive bumper form; late rain perhaps a factor when beaten on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (200/1 -33%) Fan Magnet |
200/1(-33%) | (1) Fan Magnet 200/1, Showed ability in bumpers in Ireland but offered little on hurdles debut for new yard at Worcester 8 days ago. Inferior bumper form to others and showed no improvement on last week's hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (200/1 -300%) The Ormer Gatherer |
200/1(-300%) | (3) The Ormer Gatherer 200/1, Exposed maiden on Flat and not seen for over 2 years. Best watched on hurdles bow for new yard here. 17-race Flat maiden formerly with David Evans and showed little in Jersey during 2022. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Kalium was purchased for 100,000 pounds shortly after winning a Killarney bumper by 19 lengths in May and he must enter calculations on his stable/hurdling debut for Tim Vaughan, but four-year-old filly LA MARQUISE gets the nod in receipt of weight. Twice a bumper scorer herself, and third in Grade 2 company at the Aintree Festival when last sighted, she clearly has plenty of ability and there seems no reason why she shouldn't take to this discipline. Jafimgoso, Stone's Throw and Oh My Johnny add further spice to the race.
Dual bumper winner LA MARQUISE appeals as the type to do well over timber and is taken to get off the mark at the first time of asking. Jafimgoso and Kalium may provide the chief threat.
This may go to LA MARQUISE who was good enough to win two bumpers and raised the bar again when third in a Grade 2 at Aintree.

1st (2) (9/4 +44%) Dameofthecotswolds |
9/4(+44%) | (2) Dameofthecotswolds 9/4, Bumper winner who has shown fair form over hurdles, finally getting off the mark at Plumpton (20.5f) in September. Creditable second of 16 under a penalty at Chepstow since. Likely to be on the premises once again. Ran up to her best behind an Irish raider at Chepstow two weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (7/2 +0%) Geturguccion |
7/2(+0%) | (6) Geturguccion 7/2, Placed both starts in Irish points and made a very promising start under Rules when beaten a neck by a previous winner in mares bumper at Newbury in March. Something surely wasn't right when well beaten at Cheltenham in April and retains potential now hurdling back from 6 months off. Interesting. Lots to like about her seconds in a point and bumper; interesting hurdling debutante. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (13/2 +35%) Melusine De Pail |
13/2(+35%) | (8) Melusine De Pail 13/2, Point winner who showed fair form when placed 4 times over hurdles last season. Disappointing in a Kelso handicap when last seen in May but unlikely to be far away if putting her best foot forward on her return to action. Peak efforts give her good form claims and she's experienced. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (20/1 -25%) Versace Twentyone |
20/1(-25%) | (10) Versace Twentyone 20/1, Won a Roscommon bumper for Gordon Elliott in July but has achieved only modest form when placed in a couple of mares' novice hurdles this autumn. Improvement will be needed. She kept the favourite honest on her second hurdle start at Hereford; more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (40/1 -60%) Kalista Love |
40/1(-60%) | (11) Kalista Love 40/1, Last of 5 finishers sole start in Irish points (Apr 7). Best watched on hurdle debut unless the betting hints otherwise. Showed something in a heavy-ground Irish point, finishing 15l off the winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (11/4 +17%) Shakeyatailfeather |
11/4(+17%) | (1) Shakeyatailfeather 11/4, Fair hurdler who came good at the sixth time of asking in 21.5f Newton Abbot maiden last month. Bettered that form when narrowly denied under a penalty at Southwell (3m) since. Should go well again. Has won a hurdle but looking exposed and was just denied under a penalty last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (14/1 +0%) Sweet Caryline |
14/1(+0%) | (9) Sweet Caryline 14/1, Stuck in the mud on her Exeter hurdle debut last November but offered a lot more when second on good ground at Newton Abbot (21.5f) just under 7 months later. Has a tongue tie added back from a further 5 months off. Difficult to know what she achieved when second to an easy winner at Newton Abbot. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (80/1 -220%) Jesuila Des Mottes |
80/1(-220%) | (7) Jesuila Des Mottes 80/1, French-bred mare who was held back by inexperience when sixth of 9 in a Uttoxeter bumper in April. Steps up in trip for hurdle debut. Faded into a remote sixth on debut in a soft-ground bumper at Uttoxeter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (16/1 +0%) Briery Butterfly |
16/1(+0%) | (4) Briery Butterfly 16/1, No impact in bumpers at Ascot and Cheltenham in the spring but her pedigree suggests she could fare better now hurdling over longer trips. Beaten in the region of 12l in Ascot/Cheltenham bumpers won by the promising Anno Power. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (13) (100/1 -300%) Princess Keri |
100/1(-300%) | (13) Princess Keri 100/1, Runner-up on last of 3 starts in Irish points (May 5). The betting should help guide to expectations now hurdling for a yard which does well here. Beaten 2l in her final Irish point before changing hands for £10,000. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (50/1 -213%) Kate Madrik |
50/1(-213%) | (12) Kate Madrik 50/1, Daul chase winner in France but didn't achieve much over hurdles there. A watching brief is advised on this first outing for Alison Thorpe. 0-4 in French hurdles but did win two chases earlier this year on soft ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (250/1 0%) Don't Cheddar Tear |
250/1(0%) | (5) Don't Cheddar Tear 250/1, No impact in bumper/novice hurdles last season. Hood fitted on return. No worthwhile form in a bumper and two maiden hurdles for mares; hood added. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
DAMEOFTHECOTSWOLDS produced her best effort yet when chasing home the 118-rated Rockstown Girl at Chepstow earlier this month and a similar level of performance would make her tough to beat. Shakeyatailfeather came desperately close to supplementing her Newton Abbot victory at Southwell and she looks sure to be in the mix once again, despite the burden of top-weight. Geturguccion, Versace Twentyone and Sweet Caryline are others to keep an eye on.
Those with hurdle experience don't set the bar that high so a chance is taken on Alan King's GETURGUCCION, who shaped so well on the first of her 2 starts in bumpers last season. Shakeyatailfeather, Melusine de Pail and Dameofthecotswolds can give her most to do in that order.
Quite open for a mares' novice hurdle. GETURGUCCION remains a nice prospect despite blowing out in her last bumper at Cheltenham.

1st (8) (6/1 +45%) Current Mood |
6/1(+45%) | (8) Current Mood 6/1, Fairly useful hurdler at her best, though below that level last season over hurdles and fences. Might have needed her return at Stratford and is on a fair mark. Bit to prove on the wellbeing front but did run well over fences three starts back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (8/1 +27%) Another Day Out |
8/1(+27%) | (9) Another Day Out 8/1, Winning Irish pointer and got off the mark under Rules in 6-runner handicap chase at Huntingdon (23.6f, good) in May. Returned with a solid showing at Market Rasen last month and is likely to be on the premises again. Huntingdon winner who made a midrace mistake last time; this is harder. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (11/2 +21%) Kit's Coty |
11/2(+21%) | (6) Kit's Coty 11/2, Placed all 3 starts in Irish points (£60,000 purchase) and made it third time lucky in this sphere when landing a mares' maiden at Hereford (21.7f, soft) in January. Back on track when last seen five months ago and looks an interesting chasing debutant. Winning hurdler; nice pedigree for fences and a likely improver this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (5/1 -43%) Regal Renaissance |
5/1(-43%) | (1) Regal Renaissance 5/1, Resumed winning ways over hurdles at Chepstow in March and backed it up with two good efforts, just touched off here on chasing debut five months ago. Definite player. Runs this track well and just missed out on chase debut in May; 1lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (5/2 +79%) So Said I |
5/2(+79%) | (2) So Said I 5/2, Opened his account in this sphere at Lingfield in February. Signed off with a creditable fourth from out of the weights at Cheltenham and shouldn't be written off returning on her proper mark. 4lb out of the weights when a 7l fourth at Cheltenham (2m4f, good) in April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (10/1 -43%) Mistral Nell |
10/1(-43%) | (7) Mistral Nell 10/1, Fair hurdler who ran up to her best when runner-up in a handicap at Kelso five months ago. Should be well prepared for this chasing debut and can make her presence felt if taking to it. Goes chasing on the back of a near miss off 1lb lower at Kelso; needs considering. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (11/1 -22%) Shirocco's Dream |
11/1(-22%) | (5) Shirocco's Dream 11/1, Scored over fences at Hereford (25.2f) almost a year ago and, while her form was up and down subsequently, she ran with credit over hurdles at Newton Abbot when last seen four months ago. Four wins divided between fences and hurdles; good run over hurdles latest; fair mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (22/1 -214%) Love Of Neymore |
22/1(-214%) | (4) Love Of Neymore 22/1, 14/1, career best when winning 13-runner handicap hurdle at Chepstow (19.4f, good to soft) 6 months ago, responding well. Upped in trip for this chasing debut and is one to be interested in. Lightly raced; won her final hurdle and pedigree offers hope for this switch to fences. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
REGAL RENAISSANCE was only beaten a head into second over 2m4f at this venue on her most recent start in May and Henry Daly's mare merits plenty of respect off just 1lb higher on her return. Mistral Nell also hit the crossbar on her latest outing and could prove to be the main threat, ahead of Shirocco's Dream and Flintara.
FLINTARA made a positive start to her chasing career last season and is the type to do better again this time round, so she's preferred to Regal Renaissance in an open-looking contest. Ex-pointer Kit's Coty is worthy of interest having her first go over fences.
Henry Daly's REGAL RENAISSANCE enhanced her good record here with a near-miss on her chase debut back in May.

1st (1) (8/1 +20%) Prince De Juilley |
8/1(+20%) | (1) Prince De Juilley 8/1, Knocking on the door before getting off the mark at Warwick in May but it's been mostly downhill since and he again looks vulnerable. Form has gone backwards since a breakthrough success; third last time but well held. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (10/3 +49%) Faerie Cutlass |
10/3(+49%) | (3) Faerie Cutlass 10/3, Successful at Worcester in May 2023 and hasn't done a great deal wrong since, most recently finishing third of 11 in a Warwick handicap (19f, good) last month. 1 lb lower now and she should make her presence felt. For one who stays this far it was a respectable show last time at Warwick over 2m3f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (16/1 -33%) Newtonian |
16/1(-33%) | (7) Newtonian 16/1, Belatedly off the mark when landing a handicap hurdle at Warwick (25f, good to soft) in May but followed that with an uninspiring performance at Bangor later that month. Absent since and it's probably safer to look elsewhere. Warwick winner in May but inconsistent and ran poorly three weeks later; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (11/1 +8%) Pooch |
11/1(+8%) | (8) Pooch 11/1, Glimmers of ability in 4 runs for Harriet Dickin earlier this year but, having undergone a wind op during the summer, he hasn't troubled the judge in a couple of starts for his new yard. Has offered little in two handicaps for current yard following a wind operation. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (13/2 +19%) Rubys Reward |
13/2(+19%) | (10) Rubys Reward 13/2, Just 1 lb higher than for her Worcester success last summer and she has acquitted herself well the last twice, latterly finishing fifth of 11 at Fontwell (25.8f, good). Place possibilities. Not quite at her winning level in recent races but hasn't been running badly.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (9/4 +100%) Absolutely Fine |
9/4(+100%) | (6) Absolutely Fine 9/4, Nothing to shout about in his qualifying runs but there was certainly improvement when third in an 11-runner novices' handicap back from a break/wind op upped to 23f at Worcester (good). Remains open to improvement for his leading yard. Had no excuses when a beaten favourite on his handicap debut but it was a solid run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (200/1 -150%) The Last Melon |
200/1(-150%) | (11) The Last Melon 200/1, This veteran remains winless following 24 starts overall (Flat and jumps) and he can only be watched on the back of a long layoff. Modest performer who has yet to win a race and returning from a mammoth absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (20/1 +50%) Mac's Xpress |
20/1(+50%) | (2) Mac's Xpress 20/1, Still looking for first success and he's hard to warm to on the back of a very low-key debut for this yard at Fontwell last month. Ex-Irish maiden who ran no race on his recent stable debut at Fontwell (3m2f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (6/1 +57%) Ginger Jonny |
6/1(+57%) | (4) Ginger Jonny 6/1, This point winner hasn't cut much ice under Rules so far and while it's still early days, a significant step forward will be needed if he's to play a leading role here. Tailed off in all four hurdles, the latest his handicap debut over 2m4f in April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (10/1 -43%) Propelled |
10/1(-43%) | (5) Propelled 10/1, From a top yard and a reproduction of his second-placed effort at Stratford in July would give him a fighting chance. However, that was followed by a tame display at Fontwell and the first-time blinkers will need to work the oracle if he's to get his head in front. He soon capitulated after a mistake three out at Fontwell a month ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ABSOLUTELY FINE put in a career-best effort when filling third place on his handicap debut over 2m7f at Worcester last month and that form gives him a big chance in this moderate event. Propelled and Newtonian both failed to fire on their most recent outings but are players based on previous form, while Faerie Cutlass and Prince De Juilley also make the shortlist.
If there is one of these who is better than their current mark it's surely ABSOLUTELY FINE, who shaped well when third on his handicap debut at Worcester last month and he can be expected to build on that here. Faerie Cutlass gets the nod for forecast purposes ahead of Rubys Reward.
Kim Bailey's FAERIE CUTLASS (nap) needs further than the 2m3f she ran over a month ago so that was a good run all things considered.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (7/1 -8%) Horizon D'or |
7/1(-8%) | (5) Horizon D'or 7/1, Back from 11 months off when creditable fourth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Fontwell (25.8f, good, 9/1) 30 days ago. Entitled to build on that and merits consideration. 3m and 3m2f winner last autumn on good to soft; may not want conditions to quicken.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (5/1 +23%) Pearl Island |
5/1(+23%) | (1) Pearl Island 5/1, Found improvement when good fifth of 10 in handicap hurdle at this course (21.2f, good to firm) in May and looks worth another crack at this longer trip. Not out of things. Nephew of stablemate Bretney, and still has the potential to prove a stayer himself.. |

5/2(+0%) | (2) Opera King 5/2, Posted best effort in this sphere when creditable second of 9 in handicap at Market Rasen (18.6f, good to firm, 11/2) 26 days ago, rallying. This longer trip should suit and he holds strong claims. Beaten under 2l on last month's handicap debut (2m3f, good); player if jumping better.. |

6th (3) (4/1 -45%) R Bernard |
4/1(-45%) | (3) R Bernard 4/1, Off the mark in good style at Stratford (26.4f) in April and followed up in 8-runner handicap hurdle at same course (22f) the following month. 5 lb higher on return to action but must enter calculations. Dual Stratford winner when last seen, including over further; fair-looking 5lb raise.. |

7th (10) (12/1 +40%) Pollyonesock |
12/1(+40%) | (10) Pollyonesock 12/1, Limited form in bumpers/hurdles and no signs of improvement, back from 5 months off, at Huntingdon recently. Tries longer trip now. First completion in a while latest; to be seen whether she needs this sort of trip.. |

8th (7) (17/2 -6%) Ann D'arabie |
17/2(-6%) | (7) Ann D'arabie 17/2, Hasn't made much impact in a trio of novice hurdles so far, well beaten at Huntingdon (20.7f) when last seen in January. However, no surprise to see her fare better on switch to handicaps. Form in qualifying runs wasn't startling, but mark could have been worse; tongue-tie on.. |

9th (6) (12/1 +0%) Caspers Court |
12/1(+0%) | (6) Caspers Court 12/1, Dual winner early last year but rather gone backwards since and was held when unseating rider in handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot latest. Stable stalwart finds himself on a career-low mark; two lesser runs since second in May.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The hat-trick seeking R Bernard has to be of interest on his return to action, but marginal preference is for OPERA KING. The four-year-old only found one too good on his handicap bow at Market Rasen last month and that recent run could just give him the edge. Horizon D'or edges out Pearl Island and G'day Aussie to be best of the rest.
Preference is for OPERA KING, who found improvement when runner-up at Market Rasen last month and remains relatively low mileage. Horizon d'Or and R Bernard are feared most.
The time may be nearing where PEARL ISLAND proves his future is rosier over stayers' trips. R Bernard rates the logical danger.

1st (4) (11/2 +0%) Ask Brewster |
11/2(+0%) | (4) Ask Brewster 11/2, Showed improved form to get off the mark under Rules reverted to patient tactics in 7-runner handicap hurdle at Chepstow (19.4f, soft) back in March. Won sole start in points so that augurs well for his prospects over the larger obstacles. Stable form a slight worry, however. 2m5f point and (latest) 2m3f hurdles winner; likely to stay 3m; untried on good.. |

2nd (1) (4/5 +60%) Ballintubber Boy |
4/5(+60%) | (1) Ballintubber Boy 4/5, Made it 3 wins from as many starts at Huntingdon (25f, good) 16 days ago, proving better than ever from a mark 7 lb higher than when landing the same race in 2023. Yard in fine form and can make the smooth transition to fences provided his jumping holds up (has been clumsy). 7-16 over hurdles (many wins over stayers' trips); up 5lb, but no ground concerns.. |

3rd (2) (7/4 +13%) Inoui Machin |
7/4(+13%) | (2) Inoui Machin 7/4, Dual bumper winner who came good at the fifth time of asking over hurdles when getting the better of El Granjero (won both starts since) in a Hereford maiden in March. Improved further when doubling his tally at Kempton (21f) back in May and there's every chance he will be an even better chaser. Kempton 2m5f hurdles winner (good) when last seen in May; has his first try over further.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
A ready winner over timber at Huntingdon 16 days ago, BALLINTUBBER BOY is an attractive option as he's turned out again quickly off just 5lb higher for his chasing debut with ground conditions still in his favour. That is not to underestimate Inoui Machin, whose recent hurdles success at Kempton should also have set him up nicely for his own first run over fences. Any rain would be a bonus for Ask Brewster, who shades Madaket as the pick of the remainder.
INOUI MACHIN doubled his tally over hurdles tackling his longest trip to date at Kempton back in May and with the prospect of him being an even better chaser, Neil Mulholland's 6-y-o is fancied to make the perfect start over fences at the expense of Ballintubber Boy, who made it 3 wins from as many starts at Huntingdon recently and now heads over the larger obstacles. Madaket can fill out third spot.
Proven stayer BALLINTUBBER BOY would cope with a dryout and is favoured of these four chasing debutants, ahead of Inoui Machin.

14/1(-75%) | (1) Sanda Rena 14/1, £150,000 purchase after winning an Irish point and finished third on Rules debut in a Chepstow bumper in March. Some minor promise in novice hurdles, including on yard debut at aforementioned venue 13 days ago, and may do better now venturing into handicaps. 11th (15) (125/1 -25%) Mo Zola |
125/1(-25%) | (15) Mo Zola 125/1, Won on sole start in point bumpers but yet to show any ability under Rules, finishing last of 9 in C&D handicap on final outing in April. |PU| (7) (12/1 +0%) Dom Bosco |
12/1(+0%) | (7) Dom Bosco 12/1, Shaped with little encouragement in 2 handicap chases in early-2023/24, but has been given big chance by handicapper ahead of this comeback over hurdles. Watch betting. Not taking to fences when last seen, and seems likely to need this after 16 months out.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
IONITY justified good support in the betting when he got off the mark over hurdles at Ffos Las in May and appears to have enough scope for progression to cope with a 4lb higher mark on his return. Similarly, The Dark Edge was a ready winner at Plumpton most recently and he can make his presence felt if he's not anchored by a 7lb higher rating. Sanda Rena and Greenways are a couple of other potential improvers to consider.
DOM BOSCO offered little in a brace of handicap chases early last season and has been off since, but he's been given a major chance by the assessor ahead of this comeback over hurdles and is taken to capitalise on that generosity. The Dark Edge did well under the circumstances at Plumpton last month and is respected from a 7 lb higher mark, while Ionity appeals as the type who could have more to offer.
Up in trip and dropping back from 0-110 company, CRAC DE MEGAUDAIS could surprise last-time scorers The Dark Edge and Ionity.
Ths is the racecard key.
