Laughing John |
(5) (9/4 +25%)9/4(+25%) | (5) Laughing John 9/4, Fourth foal, closely related to fair 1¼m-1½m winner Bletchley Storm (by Night of Thunder). Dam (h112), 2m hurdle winner, also 1¼m winner on Flat, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (2m winner) Mystery Drama. Newcomer for leading yard. Related to a few Flat/hurdle winners; Henderson newcomer who has to be feared. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Wallquatari |
(8) (4/1 +20%)4/1(+20%) | (8) Wallquatari 4/1, Waldpark gelding who showed some ability before falling in juvenile hurdle at Stratford (16.3f, good to soft) on debut in October. Clear of the rest when runner-up at Doncaster the following month and that form puts him right in the mix. Clear second at Doncaster last time; holds a leading chance on form and warrants respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Blue Moon Lady |
(2) (9/2 -80%)9/2(-80%) | (2) Blue Moon Lady 9/2, Pether's Moon filly. Sister to fairly useful French 2¼m hurdle winner Moon Dawn and half-sister to a winner on Flat. Prominent in the betting and made perfect start to her career in 6-runner contest over C&D 3 weeks ago. Penalty to carry but major player with improvement forthcoming. Stuck on well in fillies' event over C&D last month for a winning debut; open to progress. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Lenjoleur De Palma |
(6) (6/1 +25%)6/1(+25%) | (6) Lenjoleur De Palma 6/1, Displayed ability both starts in similar contests during the autumn but more needed to open his account. Bit of a weak finisher in both runs but is one of the main form contenders in this field. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Lundi Noir |
(7) (8/1 +0%)8/1(+0%) | (7) Lundi Noir 8/1, €60,000 3-y-o, second foal, dam, 1½m bumper winner in France, half-sister to fairly useful 17f hurdle winner Gars En Noir. Newcomer for respected yard. 60,000euros 3yo; out of a French AQPS winner; one of three newcomers in the field. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Vorderman |
(1) (10/1 +29%)10/1(+29%) | (1) Vorderman 10/1, Limited impact in a brace of bumpers but caused an upset upped to 17.7f switched to hurdling at Fontwell a month ago. Not an obvious follow-up contender under a penalty. Engaged 1.05 Plumpton Sunday. Suited by the switch to hurdles at Fontwell but needs further progress to defy a penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Analiese |
(9) (14/1 +13%)14/1(+13%) | (9) Analiese 14/1, £18,000 3-y-o, first foal, dam, 1½m-1¾m winner, half-sister to useful hurdler/fairly useful chaser in France (17f-19f winner) Angel's Share. £18,000 3yo; out of Flat-winning half-sister to a useful French jumper; check the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Highbury Hill |
(10) (20/1 +20%)20/1(+20%) | (10) Highbury Hill 20/1, Held back by inexperience when well-beaten eighth of 11 in fillies' junior bumper at Stratford but knew more sent hurdling when 8 lengths third to Blue Moon Lady on hurdles debut over C&D 3 weeks ago. Finished 8l third to Blue Moon Lady over C&D last time; now gets 7lb pull with that rival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Close Combat |
(3) (33/1 +34%)33/1(+34%) | (3) Close Combat 33/1, Kessaar gelding. Closely related to 7f/1m winner Naifah and half-brother to 2 winners. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful 2m hurdle winner Duty. Too green to show much in a bumper at Exeter. Glimmer of promise, without landing a blow, in 1m5f bumper at Exeter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Jackson's Bay |
(4) (80/1 -21%)80/1(-21%) | (4) Jackson's Bay 80/1, €4,000 3-y-o, Joshua Tree gelding. Closely related to fairly useful hurdler/chaser My Manekineko, stayed 3¼m, and half-brother to 6 winners, including smart hurdler Marsh Warbler. Showed more than on debut when fifth at Taunton but he's probably a handicap project. Ran better last time but handicaps may be more suitable shortly. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having made a winning racecourse debut over C&D last month, Blue Moon Lady warrants respect in her follow-up bid. However, a 7lb penalty and being outside of fillies-only company will make life tougher so the claims of WALLQUATARI are slightly more compelling. Donald McCain's gelding only faltered in the closing stages on his first completed outing at Doncaster and a race of this nature looks within his compass. Market support for newcomer Laughing John would be interesting.
BLUE MOON LADY created a favourable impression when making a winning debut over C&D 18 days ago and with further progress likely, hopes are high that she can defy a penalty. Wallquatari is second choice on form, with Laughing John an interesting newcomer given the yard he represents.
Doncaster runner-up WALLQUATARI has a particularly good chance at the weights. Laughing John is a noteworthy newcomer.

Dunstall Rambler |
(4) (9/4 +10%)9/4(+10%) | (4) Dunstall Rambler 9/4, Had fallen further in the weights and finally got off the mark in 8-runner handicap chase at Wincanton (15.7f, soft) just under 3 weeks ago, scoring readily under hands-and-heels riding. 5 lb higher here but can kick on now up and running. Back up 5lb for Wincanton win and he's still not the best of jumpers; one to take on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Iron D'ex |
(2) (5/1 -11%)5/1(-11%) | (2) Iron D'ex 5/1, Scored on his chasing bow at Ludlow in October and dispelled a lesser effort in the mud refitted with cheekpieces when fourth in 8-runner handicap chase at Hereford (2m) in November. Again ran creditably back up in trip last time and he should remain competitive. Successful off just 1lb lower over C&D on sole Ludlow start; interesting back here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Night Jet |
(9) (5/1 -11%)5/1(-11%) | (9) Night Jet 5/1, Maiden who showed no ill effects of a fall on reappearance when good third of 9 in handicap at Leicester last month and backed that up when a well-beaten second of 11 at Uttoxeter (15.8f, heavy) next time. Not one to give up on making his chase debut. In-form maiden hurdler; place possibilities, provided he's as effective over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Garitsa Bay |
(3) (7/1 +0%)7/1(+0%) | (3) Garitsa Bay 7/1, Compiled a solid record in handicap hurdles, doubling his tally at Worcester in June and good placed efforts both subsequent starts. Shaped as if in need of the experience sent chasing when fourth at Wincanton (15.7f, soft) last month and should build on that back up in trip. Ran respectably switched to fences last time, taking handicap record to 41331234. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Stony Man |
(1) (8/1 +33%)8/1(+33%) | (1) Stony Man 8/1, Maiden hurdle winner in spring 2022. Failed to complete next 5 starts over timber but revitalised initially by switch to chasing when fourth at Southwell back in April. Not so good next 2 starts though and now returns after 6 months off having switched yards. Tongue tie applied. Chance partly depends on how well he responds to first-time tongue-tie; new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
My Mate Polly |
(7) (8/1 +0%)8/1(+0%) | (7) My Mate Polly 8/1, Got off the mark at Wincanton in November and backed it up with a good second of 5 in handicap chase at Taunton (18.2f, good) 25 days ago. Remains low mileage in this sphere so rates a player. Form of Wincanton win has substance; creditable effort at Taunton since; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Aldsworth |
(5) (12/1 +0%)12/1(+0%) | (5) Aldsworth 12/1, Still to win but improved form for his new yard last term, runner-up at Hereford (25.5f). Showed up a bit better than the distance beaten suggests in first-time blinkers after 11 months off at Huntingdon in November and worth monitoring in the betting now chasing. Chase debutant who has a doubt over current form; place claims on best efforts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Rock On Rita |
(8) (14/1 +0%)14/1(+0%) | (8) Rock On Rita 14/1, Point winner who won 2 mares' handicap hurdles in 2022 but has yet to make an impact over the larger obstacles, including on return from lengthy absence in November. Tongue tie added to cheekpieces. Perhaps needed latest run; remains well handicapped on best hurdles form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Yes And Yes |
(6) (25/1 +0%)25/1(+0%) | (6) Yes And Yes 25/1, Just about matched his poor hurdles form sent chasing when fourth of 8 in handicap at this course (23.8f, heavy) when last seen 10 months ago. Handicapper dropped him 5 lb ahead of his return but others more solid. Absent since his modest fourth in similar event over 3m here last February. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
IRON D'EX arrives on the back of a respectable fourth at Hereford and makes plenty of appeal returning to the C&D of his sole previous success. The seven-year-old is just 1lb higher than for that victory in class 4 company in October and this class 5 contest looks a decent opportunity for him. Although Dunstall Rambler scored at Wincanton 20 days ago, that was over an extended 1m7f and his stamina is far from proven over this trip. With that in mind, a bigger threat may emerge from stable debutant Stony Man.
Several in with a squeak but the suggestion is MY MATE POLLY, who remains low mileage in this sphere and arrives on the back of a couple of good efforts since the cheekpieces were reapplied. Dunstall Rambler kept mistakes to a minimum when scoring readily at Wincanton recently, so he heads up the opposition, with Iron d'Ex and Garitsa Bay taken to fight out third.
Preference is for MY MATE POLLY, who has solid recent form and may still have more to offer. Iron d'Ex is second pick.

Aviation |
(1) (11/4 +21%)11/4(+21%) | (1) Aviation 11/4, Shaped well sole start in bumpers and built on encouraging hurdles debut when second of 12 upped to 21f in a Warwick maiden last month. Remains open to improvement and he's a must for the shortlist. Form figures read 432; heading in the right direction and his turn appears to be near. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dunskay |
(2) (10/3 -33%)10/3(-33%) | (2) Dunskay 10/3, Related to a couple of useful types and winner of 2 of his 3 starts in bumpers last term, including when last seen at Huntingdon (15.8f, heavy) where he had 3 subsequent hurdles winners behind. Since had a wind op and brings potential to the table now faces with a stiffer test on this hurdles debut. Record of 2-3 in bumpers last term and the form has substance; useful hurdles prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Roe And Co |
(6) (9/2 +10%)9/2(+10%) | (6) Roe And Co 9/2, Fetched £58,000 after landing a maiden point in November 2023 and it will be very interesting to see how he shapes up in the betting ahead of this Rules debut, particularly in relation to stablemate Dwight K Schrute, who possesses an almost identical profile. Has undergone a wind op. Irish point winner; one of two rules debutants for this stable; check the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Malinificent |
(5) (5/1 -11%)5/1(-11%) | (5) Malinificent 5/1, £52,000 buy who was runner-up on his sole completed start in points. Showed promise on hurdles debut in a 6-runner 2m Leicester novice last month and he's a live each-way candidate with this step up in trip a good move. Ran respectably at Leicester on rules debut; open to progress and has possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dwight K Schrute |
(3) (7/1 +30%)7/1(+30%) | (3) Dwight K Schrute 7/1, £80,000 4-y-o. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/fair chaser in France La Henriade and fair 2m hurdle winner Docte Dina. Successful sole run between the flags in February 2023 and, though absent since, he needs a close on Rules debut for his respected, in-form new yard. British point winner who is one of two rules debutants for this yard; market helpful. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Espoir Des Forges |
(4) (8/1 +0%)8/1(+0%) | (4) Espoir Des Forges 8/1, Promise when placed in pair of 19f Warwick maiden hurdles during the spring. However, he proved to be something of a let-down when only seventh on his reappearance at Chepstow and he arguably lacks the potential of some of these. Ran well twice at Warwick last spring and has place claims if back to that form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sole Solution |
(7) (10/1 -54%)10/1(-54%) | (7) Sole Solution 10/1, Winner of both bumper starts during 2022/23 campaign and, following almost 2 years off, he was understandably in need of the experience/run on hurdles debut in November. Subsequently chased home a potentially smart novice in Sixmilebridge upped to 20.5f at Leicester (heavy) and he's a big player. Ran encouragingly on latest hurdles start; good chance if returning to his bumper form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Another Pearl |
(8) (25/1 -25%)25/1(-25%) | (8) Another Pearl 25/1, Dam triple bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler. Signs of ability in bumpers but will probably be brought along gradually in this sphere, with a view to handicaps. Hurdles debutante who has plenty to find on bumper form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Majestic Mia |
(15) (66/1 +34%)66/1(+34%) | (15) Majestic Mia 66/1, Didn't show enough on recent C&D Rules debut to suggest that she'll play a leading role in this contest. Well beaten over C&D last month on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Chosen Bae |
(10) (66/1 +56%)66/1(+56%) | (10) Chosen Bae 66/1, Placed in Irish points but pulled up on Newton Abbot hurdle debut in July 2023 and beaten a long way on recent comeback run at Uttoxeter where he sported a first-time hood/tongue strap (both retained). Dismal form under rules. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Clashmore Banter |
(11) (66/1 +67%)66/1(+67%) | (11) Clashmore Banter 66/1, Makes very little appeal making her Rules debut having offered little in 4 starts between the flags. Far from solid on her Irish point form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
King's Consort |
(14) (66/1 0%)66/1(0%) | (14) King's Consort 66/1, Youmzain mare. Dam multiple bumper winner/made frame sole start over hurdles. Placed on the second of her 2 starts between the flags back in March 2023. Probably best watched on Rules debut. Made the frame in point bumpers for this trainer in 2023; follow the market signals. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Braunton Burrows |
(9) (100/1 +33%)100/1(+33%) | (9) Braunton Burrows 100/1, Offered little in a trio of bumpers (first two for Nigel Twiston-Davies) and pulled up on hurdles bow at Doncaster when last seen 12 months ago. Poor chance on form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Gemi Cat |
(13) (100/1 +33%)100/1(+33%) | (13) Gemi Cat 100/1, Out of a hurdling winner in France but doesn't look like a winner-in-waiting herself judged on what she's shown on the racecourse so far. Yard also saddles Majestic Mia. Beaten long way over C&D last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Dancing Lass |
(16) (100/1 +33%)100/1(+33%) | (16) The Dancing Lass 100/1, Last of 6 in bumper at Bangor on debut in October and then trailed in last of 8 finishers switched to hurdles in a Hereford novice. Has achieved little in two outings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dontworrywegotthis |
(12) (100/1 +50%)100/1(+50%) | (12) Dontworrywegotthis 100/1, Offered little only start in bumpers and has fared no better in 2 starts since switched to hurdles. Has failed to beat a rival in three runs. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
MALINIFICENT offered plenty to work with when third on his Rules bow over an inadequate trip at Leicester last month. This distance looks ideal for Warren Greatrex's point-to-point recruit and he is taken to open his account. The biggest danger may emerge in the shape of hurdles debutant Dunskay, who cannot be taken lightly after landing a couple of bumpers last season. Aviation must also enter calculations after filling the runner-up spot at Warwick.
Several to consider in what has the makings of an informative novice. DUNSKAY is just about the most interesting of the shortlisted candidates, with the form of his latest bumper success at Huntingdon working out well. Sole Solution stepped up on his hurdles debut when runner-up at Leicester last month and he is feared most ahead of Aviation and Malinificent. Jamie Snowden fields former point winners Dwight K Schrute and Roe And Co, both of whom need a close look in the betting.
As regards the runners who already have hurdles form, AVIATION holds particularly solid claims. Dunskay is second choice.

Solar System |
(4) (9/4 +10%)9/4(+10%) | (4) Solar System 9/4, Largely progressive in handicaps, making it 3 wins in last 6 starts when seeing off 7 rivals over 21f here last month. A 4 lb rise shouldn't prevent another prominent showing now stepping up in trip. Improving 6yo who scored over 2m5f here last month and has now won three of his last six. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Gustoso |
(7) (5/2 +17%)5/2(+17%) | (7) Gustoso 5/2, Benefitted from the step up in trip when successful over 25.5f at Hereford last month, staying on well. A 5 lb rise may not stop one who is very much unexposed as a stayer. Returned to form with clearcut win at Hereford last month; still unexposed at around 3m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
James Jet |
(2) (4/1 +11%)4/1(+11%) | (2) James Jet 4/1, Winning pointer who showed benefit of a wind op when landing handicaps over hurdles/fences at the end of 2023. Struggled on next 3 starts but back on song when second in chase at Southwell (3m) in May (final start for Warren Greatrex. Gone well fresh before and respected for new yard after wind op. Inconsistent for previous stable and has fitness to prove here but still considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Planet Legend |
(1) (8/1 -7%)8/1(-7%) | (1) Planet Legend 8/1, Bounced back from a poor run at Huntingdon when second of 4 over 25f at Catterick in November. Should be competitive but suspicion that wait for a first handicap win will go on. Chased home very progressive rival at Catterick last time and ought to feature again here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Fontana Ellissi |
(3) (10/1 -25%)10/1(-25%) | (3) Fontana Ellissi 10/1, Runner-up twice at Cheltenham in late 2023. Not disgraced in 2 runs back from 13 months off last winter but off a further year ahead of this reappearance. Returned from layoff with two respectable runs last winter but off for another year since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Faded Fantasy |
(9) (12/1 +0%)12/1(+0%) | (9) Faded Fantasy 12/1, Not won since June 2023 but went close on first attempt over fences at Hereford (25f) in November. Hasn't built on that in a chase/hurdle since. Game second on chasing debut but two laboured efforts followed; too unreliable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Hardy Fella |
(5) (16/1 +0%)16/1(+0%) | (5) Hardy Fella 16/1, Scored over fences at Fontwell in 2023 but generally out of sorts since and a more compelling case can be made for most of his rivals. Regressive 8yo; suited by this C&D but needs to turn a corner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Aquila Sky |
(8) (20/1 +20%)20/1(+20%) | (8) Aquila Sky 20/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Reached the frame 3 times over fences in the first half of 2024 but not in the same form back from a break in November and now reverts to hurdles in a bid to get back to form. Out of form over fences in the autumn and very difficult to enthuse over at present. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Imperial Storm |
(6) (100/1 -52%)100/1(-52%) | (6) Imperial Storm 100/1, Bumper/ hurdles winner for Fergal O'Brien but off for 500 days prior to pulling up in a point in May and beaten a long way in handicap hurdles at Chepstow and Hereford in recent months. Returned to racing under rules with two heavy defeats in the autumn. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
GUSTOSO showed a big chunk of improvement when stepping up in distance to score comfortably at Hereford and a 5lb rise might prove to be on the lenient side. Henry Daly's six-year-old should have plenty more to offer and could prove hard to beat again. Solar System made it two wins from his last three starts when justifying favouritism here and he should go well again, providing his stamina holds out over this longer trip. Planet Legend is another to consider.
GUSTOSO could have more to offer as a stayer and is taken to defy the handicapper. The thriving Solar System will be a danger if his stamina holds now stepping up to around 3m for the first time. James Jet could also have a say if new trainer Jamie Snowden has him primed after a 7-month break.
This could be another good opportunity for SOLAR SYSTEM (nap), who continued his improvement with a 2m5f course success 19 days ago.

(2) (9/4 +25%)9/4(+25%) | (2) Smiling Getaway 9/4, Winning pointer/hurdler who improved again to make a successful chasing debut at Ffos Las in October. Struggled in listed company at Warwick next time but may yet have more to offer in this sphere. Won at Ffos Las on chase debut; held in Listed grade since but remains of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ramo |
(1) (11/4 +31%)11/4(+31%) | (1) Ramo 11/4, Fairly useful hurdler who made a winning return in that sphere at this track last year. Pulled up in a competitive event at Aintree 8 months ago but starts out over fences for stable with fine record with similar types. Hurdles form featured a win here on reappearance last term; interesting back at Ludlow. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Roger Pol |
(4) (4/1 -33%)4/1(-33%) | (4) Roger Pol 4/1, Went in at the first attempt over fences at Southwell in October and backed it up with a good staying-on third of 5 in handicap chase at Doncaster (19.1f, good) 37 days ago. Merits serious consideration back up in trip. Still unexposed over fences and shapes as if this new trip is worth exploring. |

Party Business |
(3) (8/1 +33%)8/1(+33%) | (3) Party Business 8/1, Seemingly not the force of old and was pulled up over hurdles at Sandown last time, so plenty to prove back over the larger obstacles. Inconsistent this term and ran dismally in sole attempt over fences; opposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Balkardy |
(6) (8/1 +43%)8/1(+43%) | (6) Balkardy 8/1, Made light of a six-month lay-off when landing 5-runner handicap chase at Stratford (22.6f, good to soft) in October and generally respectable efforts since, third here last time. Not dismissed. Ran respectably here last time but made mistakes and ideally needs to jump better. |

Masters Legacy |
(5) (12/1 -20%)12/1(-20%) | (5) Masters Legacy 12/1, Chase debut winner at Exeter in November 2022 but more miss than hit since and was pulled up at the same course last time. Hard to make a solid case for. Won at Exeter in November 2022; lightly raced and below that form since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Fever Dream |
(7) (14/1 -17%)14/1(-17%) | (7) Fever Dream 14/1, Winner over hurdles at Perth in June and followed that with a couple of respectable efforts in defeat. Yet to fire over fences but it's still early days. Chase form comprises one good effort and two dismal efforts; not a solid option. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
ROGER POL backed up his victory at Southwell with a fair third over 2m3f at Doncaster and goes off an unchanged rating. With Gavin Sheehan back on board and the step up in trip a possible source of improvement, he could be the one to beat. Smiling Getaway could only manage a well-held fifth in Listed company at Warwick, but this is an easier assignment and she might have more to offer on only her third chase start. Balkardy isn't out of it either.
ROGER POL, having made a winning start to chasing, found the trip too sharp last time, so he's fancied to get back on the up returned to a suitable distance. Smiling Getaway still has more to offer in this sphere and Ramo looks a fascinating chasing debutant.
Back at Ludlow, chase debutant RAMO is particularly interesting. Roger Pol and Smiling Getaway look the chief threats.

(14) (5/4 +44%)5/4(+44%) | (14) Sullivan Bay 5/4, Showed next to nothing for Henrietta Knight but back to winning ways on first start for this yard on AW Flat at Chelmsford (2m) in October. Placed on all 3 outings since, including a close second in a 20.5f handicap hurdle at Plumpton. Big player under Sean Bowen. Has done well under both codes since joining current yard; big player back over hurdles. |

Von Hallers |
(15) (8/1 -23%)8/1(-23%) | (15) Von Hallers 8/1, First form when fifth of 9 in 2½m Hereford handicap hurdle in October. An unexposed profile provides hope that she can build on that. Fair fifth at Hereford in October and could have untapped potential over this longer trip. |

Les's Jersey Royal |
(4) (9/1 -13%)9/1(-13%) | (4) Les's Jersey Royal 9/1, Some promise on 20.5f Leicester hurdle debut in November. In good hands and still early days but he needs a transformation on handicap debut. |

(8) (10/1 -25%)10/1(-25%) | (8) Churchman 10/1, Went close in 2m course handicap last February. Should stay this far but off since a below-form fifth over 2½m at Bangor in May. 0-9 over hurdles but he's on a workable mark and is not ruled out on his return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Olivia Kate |
(10) (12/1 -20%)12/1(-20%) | (10) Olivia Kate 12/1, Advanced her form when easily getting off the mark in 10-runner C&D handicap (soft) in November but not in anything like the same form when seventh at Uttoxeter since. A return to Ludlow needs to help spark a revival. Easy win over C&D in November but was disappointing off revised mark at Uttoxeter. |

De Vega's Warrior |
(11) (12/1 -20%)12/1(-20%) | (11) De Vega's Warrior 12/1, A frustrating maiden handicapper on Flat. Best run over hurdles when third of 11 on 20.5f Southwell handicap debut last month and the yard has hit form in recent days. Placed on handicap hurdle debut at Southwell last month; player if he can build on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Babatunde |
(2) (14/1 -17%)14/1(-17%) | (2) Babatunde 14/1, Purchased for £50,000 after finishing third in an Irish point last spring. Only minor promise over hurdles in recent months but handicaps may see him in a better light. Has shown ability over hurdles and this is more realistic on handicap debut; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Charming Getaway |
(16) (14/1 +13%)14/1(+13%) | (16) Charming Getaway 14/1, Poor form. Entitled to strip fitter for November's run at Southwell but others are more persuasive. 8yo who is 0-9 and was well held at Southwell latest; down the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dublin To Milan |
(1) (14/1 +30%)14/1(+30%) | (1) Dublin To Milan 14/1, Made the frame all 3 starts in points. Comfortably held in 2m novice hurdles but potential improver now handicapping over a longer trip. Unexposed 6yo and he's a possible improver upped in trip on handicap debut. |

Brockarno |
(6) (25/1 +38%)25/1(+38%) | (6) Brockarno 25/1, Third on the second of his 3 qualifying runs over hurdles but made an inauspicious start to his handicap career at Uttoxeter just before Christmas. Signs of ability in his qualifying runs but was beaten 41l on handicap debut last month. |

Mac's Xpress |
(5) (50/1 0%)50/1(0%) | (5) Mac's Xpress 50/1, Remains a long-standing maiden and has offered little in 3 starts since joining this yard. 0-26 over hurdles and has been tailed off in all three runs for current yard. |

Seahouses |
(12) (50/1 +0%)50/1(+0%) | (12) Seahouses 50/1, Fairly useful maiden on the Flat for Ralph Beckett but only poor form over hurdles, including pulled up in both handicaps. Can only be watched. Pulled up in both handicaps over hurdles and can only be watched. |

Prairie Queen |
(13) (100/1 +0%)100/1(+0%) | (13) Prairie Queen 100/1, Has looked limited in bumpers and over hurdles, including pulled up on handicap debut last month. A first-time tongue tie needs to spark improvement. Still unexposed in this sphere but needs a tongue-tie to make a big difference. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SULLIVAN BAY has been much improved since joining current connections and, narrowly denied at Plumpton on his most recent start in this sphere, the five-year-old looks the one to beat. The booking of Sean Bowen is another plus and he is preferred to recent Southwell third De Vega's Warrior, as well as Churchman, who has decent claims on his penultimate effort at Uttoxeter. Dublin To Milan and Von Hallers cannot be ruled out either.
SULLIVAN BAY has had a good spell since joining Jim & Suzi Best and is the most solid option in a race featuring a few who haven't shown much so far but could take a step forward in handicaps. The good recent form of the Henrietta Knight stable earns De Vega's Warrior a place on the shortlist, along with handicap newcomers Babatunde and Les's Jersey Royal.
It's hard to get away from SULLIVAN BAY, who has done really under both codes for his new yard including a near miss at Plumpton.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A highly encouraging third on debut when keeping on from off the pace in an Aintree race that has worked out well, CLAIM DU BRIZAIS arguably sets the standard on form and can get off the mark. Blue Betty hails from a yard that knows how to ready one first time, while fellow newcomers Celestron Star and Elusive Feeling should also be monitored for market support. Fresh As A Daisy was set a stiff task first time out and will be much happier here.
Point winner CLAIM DU BRIZAIS arrives on the back of a solid Rules debut at Aintree and is fancied to open her account at the possible expense of Fresh As A Daisy, who should have learned from her initial outing in listed company at Huntingdon. Blue Betty is the pick of the newcomers on paper.
Dan Skelton's CLAIM DU BRIZAIS finished third at Aintree in a race that's worked out well and she looks the one to be with.
Ths is the racecard key.

Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses.
