14:00 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

DEVIZES had Anisoptera (third) behind when taking the silver medal home at Kempton last month and he is fancied to confirm that form, despite being 1lb worse off this time around. Pat Phelan's eight-year-old has struck four times at this course and looks the one to beat. Anisoptera remains on a workable mark and has to be respected while, of the rest, Sir Joseph Swan makes the most appeal.

C&D regular ANISOPTERA fared best of those held up when third at Kempton, a performance suggesting she's in excellent heart. That cannot be said about many in this so she gets the verdict in favour of Devizes and Gift of Raaj.

A tricky race. The selection, ANISOPTERA, is at least competitively treated and has plenty of form on this surface and over this trip.

14:30 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Marcus filled the runner-up spot in a classified event at Chelmsford last week and has to be respected now back in the handicap ranks with David Egan booked. However, the vote goes to KOHANA GIRL, who made the frame at Yarmouth in July and beat Marcus (fourth) when finishing third on the turf course here three starts ago. The daughter of Sioux Nation may only need to run to that level of form in order to shed her maiden tag. Piperstown completes the shortlist.

PIPERSTOWN still looked a work in progress when a very good third at Southwell last time so is fancied to build on it and get off the mark. Marcus also has the form to play a big part and is next on the list ahead of Kohana Girl.

Marcus and Kohana Girl are place candidates but PIPERSTOWN can cope with the return to 5f after running well over 6f last time.

15:00 Lingfield Maiden (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ZARIELA boasts by far the most experience in this contest and wasn't disgraced in third in a handicap at Newmarket on her latest outing. The daughter of Eqtidaar needs to overcome her wide draw but if Ben Sanderson can find a nice position, she could be the one to beat. Wadacre Giorgio is an interesting newcomer to keep an eye on and may improve as he steps up in trip, but this looks a good starting point and he warrants a market check. Adore You is another to note.

ZARIELA has some fair form to her name so looks the way to go here unless one of the newcomers proves above average. James Tate's Mauchline appeals most, ahead of Charlie Johnston's Wadacre Giorgio.

The market should prove informative but WADACRE GIORGIO is suggested, with this trip looking a good starting point.

15:30 Lingfield Maiden (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Gilet sets the standard and having finished runner-up in two of his three previous starts, may find improvement now connections opt to try him in cheekpieces. However, THE HARE RAIL wasn't beaten too far in a deeper-looking maiden at Salisbury and, with that run likely to have put an edge on the son of Dark Angel, he shades preference based on scope for progression. Chester Arms and On The Never are notable debutants to monitor closely in the betting.

GILET continued his theme of race-by-race progress when second at Chelmsford 3 weeks ago and a repeat of that form may enable him to go one place better. The Hare Rail's debut was full of promise so he's a threat, with Dark Rosa a potential improver given she'll know more this time.

The sharper 6f may not be ideal for either The Hare Rail or Dark Rosa and this looks good for GILET despite the outside stall.

16:00 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

With the likes of Coolagh Magic and Poetic Jack struggling for consistency, there are grounds for giving DEQUINTO another chance in his bid to break his duck, despite this being his 15th attempt. The Tony Carroll-trained gelding faced an impossible task against a 74-rated rival in a restricted maiden at Brighton latest, but fared best of the rest and truly won't need to raise his game by much to get off the mark here.

Having dropped a long way in the weights, COOLAGH MAGIC returned to form when second at a big price over C&D a fortnight ago and as a result, he now looks ready to cash in. Poetic Jack and Dequinto head the opposition.

A dual course winner, COOLAGH MAGIC bounced back to form over C&D a fortnight ago and is preferred to Poetic Jack.

Unexposed and the return to 1m4f should suit on pedigree, so he's high on the shortlist.

16:32 Lingfield Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

SURREY FIRE finished full of running when breaking his maiden here in July and is presented with a good opportunity to make a successful transition to handicap company, with the step back up to 1m4f not expected to be an issue. Expert Witness is a previous course winner who should also go well if her stamina holds out, although Optician is proven at this distance and may pose a bigger threat to the selection, despite having yet to win on Polytrack.

The one with the interesting profile here is SURREY FIRE, who showed a striking turn of foot when successful here a month ago and after just 3 runs, there should be plenty more to come from him now handicapping. Optician's strike rate on the AW is excellent so he's second choice, ahead of Aviemore.

The step back up to 1m4f should suit the lightly raced SURREY FIRE (nap). Graignes is worth a look among the likely bigger prices.

Fair as 2yo but this year's form doesn't match up; now taking a big step up in trip.

17:05 Lingfield Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CON TE PARTIRO is the only course winner in the field having struck over this trip as recently as late July and although beaten since, he only went under by a short head over the mile here and can show his appreciation for the return to 1m2f. Risen Again was beaten less than a length at Beverley and rates his biggest danger, despite top weight, while Nazalan intrigues now taking a significant step up in distance.

James Ferguson's string are in good form and RISEN AGAIN could be the way to go. Still lightly raced, he did well to finish second at Beverley 3 weeks ago having pulled hard and there remains a bigger effort in him. Con Te Partiro has thrived following the switch to handicaps and is a serious threat, with Forever Noah another to note.

Con Ti Partiro can go well back over 1m2f but ALVESTA put up a good show over C&D in July and this is her first AW run since.

17:35 Lingfield Handicap (Class 5) 7f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Argentali has to be of some interest on her handicap debut, wearing a first-time tongue-tie following wind surgery, but she hasn't shown enough yet to suggest she can get the better of MACHIAVELLIAN LADY, a comfortable winner at Wolverhampton and upped 5lb by the handicapper. She had enough in hand to suggest she can shrug that off, with Lady Dreamer possibly her biggest rival under a 5lb penalty, despite only going up 4lb for last week's C&D success.

LADY DREAMER has thrived following her switch back to all-weather in recent months, making it 2 wins from her last 3 starts in a C&D handicap 9 days ago. She looks a live player under a penalty, with fellow last-time-out winner Machiavellian Lady a big player with a repeat of her latest Wolverhampton display. Onthemoneyhoney also needs factoring in following her good third over 1m at Kempton 16 days ago.

The three-year-old MACHIAVELLIAN LADY looked to have better to come when striking for the first time in a handicap and can follow up.
